Hate how filming people having mental breakdowns or disabled people or mentally ill people has become so normalized online. Especially how those videos always seem to either a) be made specifically to mock people for the crime of existing, or b) made out to be some spooky scary post about someone being haunted or seeing ghosts

Like stop fucking filming people without their consent and stop posting them online. I don't care what your reason for it is, just don't do it. I don't care if the person you are filming is having a seizure or if they are just wearing something you think looks strange or if the person is screaming about seemingly nothing. Just don't film them. People who do film and upload stuff like that should stop, because imagine of that was you being filmed when at your lowest possible point and then have videos of that circulating the internet. If you still choose to post videos like that then honestly you should go fuck yourself and die.

I think what I dislike about tiktok and other apps/features that emulate it is that with other social media platforms or whatever, the main function is that you're mostly choosing content. Like, you don't decide what exact posts you see, but you choose who you hear from and/or what you hear about. Tiktok functions fundamentally differently in that it feeds you new content based on what it understands about you, and that seems particularly addicting. It's like opening your brain up and clearing it out so the forces that be can put whatever they want in it.
