throw a caretaker in a time loop and force them to watch whumpee die over and over. then take them out of it and put whumpee in minor, nonlethal danger. so that caretaker loses their mind, you understand,

Trap your Whumpee in a time loop.
Force them to relive the same month, week, or day over and over and over until they break.
Then, wipe their memories clean, and do it again.

Opinion on Immortal Whumpees?
oooooo. well, as we all know, one of my favorite tropes is "whumpee dying in caretaker's arms." but of course that trope leaves us with dead whumpee, which is no fun! so immortal whumpee is PERFECT! they can die as many times as the author chooses. infinite possibilities. and think of the trauma to them!!
this is also why i like time loops... where whumpee keeps dying, and caretaker is the one aware of the loop, and they have to save whumpee.

Everyone is terrified of whumper. No one talks about it, but everyone knows that you treat whumper with respect and give them anything they want.... or else.
Sweet, innocent whumper, who has never lifted a finger or spoken a cruel word to anyone, doesn't know the fear they cause. They live a perfect, happy life, surrounded by kindness and gifts and praise.
Little does whumper know that the moment anyone treats them badly, they are thrown into a time loop, doomed to repeat until they give whumper(?) the respect they deserve.
Although whumper(?) is always friendly and kind, Everyone fears the day that they decide to do something cruel...
Because who would be able to stop them?

If you're still doing it, this is for the piece of media whump scene game:
This one comes from a YouTube series. TW for guns.
Whumpee and Teammate wake up inside an old facility. They eventually find Caretaker using their abilities to contact them through an electronic device, telling them that they were in a simulation. Running through the facility, trying to find Caretaker and a way out, they run into Whumper, who explains that they put Whumpee into the simulation so that the two of them could battle over and over, with Whumper always coming out on top. When Whumpee protests, Whumper shoots Whumpee and reveals that they never left the simulation.
Whumpee is put into a loop of being shot down, over and over, and begins to lose their hope as they realize there's very little chance they'll ever escape. Finally, just before Whumpee snaps, Caretaker shows up and takes Whumpee to a safe place, where they can finally have a break... and a breakdown.
(I'll send you the answer in another ask :D)
Rules here!
What piece of media does this whumpy scene come from? Tell me via replies here, reblogs, an ask, etc! You have 24 hours!

Time Loop
day 11 of @febuwhump
villain, hero, and superhero
1415 words
warnings: cursing, character death
~
Villain wakes up and rolls over, taking note of the time before gently shaking Hero’s shoulder. “It’s time to wake up, big day today.”
Hero grumbles and rolls over, eyes barely open. “Hey handsome.” he says with a smile. “Kiss?”
Villain rolls its eyes and shakes its head, “After you brush your teeth.”
Hero whines, but lets himself fall out of the bed, barely catching himself before he hits the floor. “But that’s gonna be forever,” He says, drawing out the words.
“Then you better hurry up,” Villain says, pulling a pair of shorts on. “But still brush for two minutes. A fast two minutes.” it pokes its head into the bathroom and points to the clock. “Definitely one hundred and twenty seconds though.”
Hero rolls his eyes and makes a show of putting the toothpaste on the toothbrush before Villain turns out of the bathroom.
Villain gets Hero’s things together, packing his clothes back in the overnight bag and throwing a few things he’d forgotten past times in too.
Hero runs out of the bathroom and stands in front of Villain expectantly. “Kiss?”
With a bright smile, Villain obliges and gives Hero a small peck on the lips. “You have to get going now though. Make sure Superhero makes it to the tower on time. None of your usual ‘running a few minutes late’ business, got it? This is important.”
Hero mock salutes and nods, “Yessir!”
They both walk to the door and Villain hands Hero his bag, “You better make it. Ok?”
“You’ve got a backup plan, right?” Hero asks playfully. Villain’s face darkens and it clears its throat, looking to the ground. Hero shakes his head and chuckles nervously. “I was only joking. It’ll work tonight; you have to believe it.”
Villain forces a smile and nods. It opens the door and pushes Hero out into the hallway. “You have to get back before Supervillain wakes up. She can’t find out. Go!”
For the next eight hours, Villain checks the clock constantly. It pops something in the microwave for lunch and moves things around in the house, but always has a clock in sight. It can’t be late.
Villain’s phone alarm goes off and it jumps up to turn it off. It takes a deep breath and gets dressed, it’s almost time to go.
Villain walks out the door, trusty dagger tucked into its belt and a worried expression on its face. It looks up and sees the tower. It’s nearly two stories tall, four legs that hold up a small, rickety platform. The ladder leading up to the platform is missing a few rungs, but not too many that getting up is overly difficult. Thank goodness for that.
Villain gets to the top without much trouble and sits in the middle of the platform, waiting for Hero and Superhero to meet it there. It peeks its head over the ledge and sees Hero’s car pull up to the base of the tower. Quickly, it pulls back and takes a deep breath.
The ladder starts to shake and Villain spreads its feet out below it to steady itself.
It can hear Superhero complaining below, “Hero, are you sure about this? It's a lot of trouble to take out one measly bad guy. How’do you even find out about Villain being here? It’s such a weird place and I’d think that it’d hole up in the ground somewhere, not up high. It just doesn’t make sense.”
Ouch, one measly bad guy? Superhero has to see it as more than that.
Hero chuckles, his voice closer than Superhero’s, “I have my ways. I can’t go and expose them to you, then you won’t have any reason to keep me around.”
They fall into an awkward silence and Villain wants to blow its cover just to tell Hero there’s so many other reasons to keep him around, but it keeps its mouth shut.
Hero’s full head of hair comes into view over the edge of the platform and he peeks his eyes over. His eyes light up and he pulls himself up the rest of the way quickly.
“Well?” Superhero calls from the ladder.
Villain and Hero roll their eyes at the same time and Hero pokes his head over the edge, “We beat it here. Now it’s a waiting game.”
Villain takes a step back and hides behind Hero to get as much surprise it can from Superhero. Hero turns his head to look at it and puckers his lips, he whispers, “Kiss?”
Villain smiles and obliges, pulling back a second later when Superhero’s hand grasps the edge of the platform. Hero turns his attention to her and takes a few steps forward to help her onto the platform.
For a split second, she doesn’t notice Villain. But as soon as she does, she grabs the gun on her belt and holds it against Hero’s temple.
“I fucking knew it.” she spits. “You two are working together.”
Hero struggles under her strength and he looks pleadingly at Villain.
“I just needed him to have us meet. I promise, I’m not going to try to do anything other than that.” Villain says, taking steps back to give Supervillain more space. “Let him go.”
She ignores Villain and grabs Hero by his throat. “How long have you been working against me?”
“I’m no- I didn’t. This is good for you, it’s gonna help, I promise. Just listen to Villain. Please.”
She holds him over the edge of the platform, “How long?”
“Two months!” Villain shouts. “Two fucking months. That’s it! I found him, told him my plan, practically forced him to follow through. He’s not betraying your trust, he’s trying to save his life.”
Hero shakes his head and tries to speak, but Superhero’s hand is crushing his throat.
“Two months?” she asks. “That’s a long fucking time to come up with a plan. The two of you have been doing something else, haven’t you?”
Hero shakes his head and his eyes dart to Villain, begging her to deny it.
It shakes its head, “Nothing else. There was never a good time for this to happen, we’d planned a few other times, but something always came up.”
She rolls her eyes, “Oh, whatever! You’re both fucking lying to me! There’s no way you’re not doing anything else!”
Hero’s head lolls to the side, his eyes barely open now. Villain lunges forward and pulls him back onto the platform.
“You’re killing him!” it shouts. Superhero lets it take him out of her hands and into its lap.
She looks down at them both and takes a deep breath. “If you want him so badly, you can keep him.”
She points the gun at his stomach and shoots without a second thought.
Hero wails in pain, writhing in Villain’s lap. Villain presses its hand against the wound and watches as Superhero disappears over the side of the platform, rattling the ladder as she makes her way down.
“Villain?” he asks, his hand suddenly on top of its. “Do you think I’m gonna die?”
Villain shakes its head and pulls Hero more into its lap. “No, you’re not going to die. I promise.”
“It feels like I might,” he says, voice trembling.
It presses harder onto his wound and looks at the sky, “No, you’ll be alright. I have a plan B.”
He shakes his head, “Don’t do it, it’s not worth it.”
It smiles painfully and nods, “I already made up my mind.”
It’s unforgivable for it to do something so selfish, something that serves no other purpose than to have another try to fuck today up. Villain leans its forehead against Hero’s and whispers, “Kiss?”
He sobs. “Please don’t do this.”
After a moment of them staring at each other, Hero resigns and lifts his chin, letting his lips meet Villain’s.
It smiles and waits for Hero to pull away. “Thank you.” It mutters, “I’ll see you soon.”
They both close their eyes and the world starts to spin for Villain. Hero disappears from its arms and the cold of the metal platform is replaced by the warmth of its bed. Clothes change from rough to smooth and before it knows it, Villain’s back in its bed.
Villain wakes up and rolls over, taking note of the time before gently shaking Hero’s shoulder. “It’s time to wake up, big day today.”
Hero grumbles and rolls over, eyes barely open. “Hey handsome.” he says with a smile. “Kiss?”

Imagine if characters in whump gifs were self aware. Time loops in fiction usually last longer than the handful of seconds that a gif does but the whumpee being aware that they're looping their worst moment over and over and over and omniscient beings are deliberately carving it out of their timestream frame by frame to eagerly rewatch it? Hehehe

Two-dimensional prisons
- I’ve had the idea of somehow putting a whumpee in a computer for a really long time. confined to a single digital room, only able to interact with a few things, going from human to being bound by programming. The touch starvation that comes with that. Interacting with a cursor is nothing like interacting with another person. basically yeah tamagotchify them.
- Phones with the same concept^
- keeping whumpee trapped in a mirror, only ever able to gaze out at the real world.
- if you’re feeling really mean, make it a compact mirror. There’s hardly even enough space to shift around. A whole world just out of their reach from that claustrophobic little space they’re stuck in. They’re completely portable.
- Doesn’t have to be 2D, but a book or a journal. Being able to script whatever events they want for whumpee. Whether they’re aware of it all or not is also a fun thing to keep in mind.
- A painting overlooking a grand room. They’re allowed to move around in the frame. Being marveled at and spectated, or instructed to stay in a certain pose. That frame can always get smaller if they disobey.
- i know i already said mirrors, but basically any reflective surfaces work well. maybe a jewel or a puddle.

shoutout to "are you feeling alright?", especially when paired with "you're scaring me", "what's gotten into you?", "what are you talking about?", "i don't understand", "that's nonsense", etc etc. i love a good whumpee frantically trying to gain caretaker's help, while ignoring how wild the fresh hell they've been through sounds to someone entirely unaware.

time loops how I love you time loops... growing cynical bc they just can't find a way out! Uncaring and reckless and Losing Their Mind! and then when it breaks (IF it breaks) suddenly they're just Different and nobody else understands why. suddenly they don't care.
maybe on their last loop they do something unthinkable because "what's it matter, it'll just reset anyway?" and then it doesn't and now Consequences.
the first look at the date at the start and at the end of the loop. "Wait. Wasn't that yesterday?" or "The date's different. It's over?"
being stuck in a loop WITH someone. lots of time to become friends. Bonus points if they hated each other before and to everyone else it just looks like they woke up one day and suddenly they were besties.
stuck in a loop of a terrible thing. trying to stop the death of a friend, their own death, or even like the end of the world over and over and over. they're convinced that stopping the catastrophe will stop the loop— but what if it doesn't?
Anyway err uhhhh goodnight - @sodascribbles
aaaa yesss that's what I'm talking about!!
I just love when a character stops trying to escape the loops and then has the hardest time adjusting to normal life. they have no idea why it all started, and no idea what stopped it, so they live in fear of it happening again.
also!! if, instead, they know exactly how to get out of the cycle, but they intentionally keep resetting the day to save someone who is doomed to die~ bonus points for that scene where they break down and tell them, and it is that other person that tells them to let them go and keep living <3
and and and!!! because I woke up in the mood for angst- I just love the trope of slowly getting to know someone, finding new things to talk about each loop, or even having the same conversation over and over just because you find comfort in the way they laugh at that one joke- and having to accept that *if* you ever make it to tomorrow they won't remember any of it
Anyways, good morning ♡ thank you for the ask friend <3

Hey @pillowspace I've been promising some whump and this is going to be the start of it.
I don't know how many parts it'll be, but I suspect I'll be able to post one snippet every day or two and finish it out by the end of the week.
I hope I do it justice. I've been hyping it up in my head a whole lot, especially since I'm writing more comfort for the clone au than here.
This is loop five. You're pretty sure of that. Sun is a little suspicious of you, the distance between you and the attendant growing ever wider as you prove to be more capable with the kids than him or Moon. It's not his fault, you want to explain, but you know that will only make things worse.
So you try to ignore instinct, let the children fall and need Sun, but he's the face of the daycare and he's needed all the time, so it becomes pain for pain's sake, and that of a child too! You can't stand it, and you know if he were in your shoes, if either of them were, they'd understand.
You still don't like the day they bring the generators in --- other humans with help from some of the animatronics, Freddy and Bonnie always eager to give their coworkers a helping hand. You don't like it because it means Moon won't be out anymore.
"Can we put some tape down? I'm worried the kids will trip over the cables." You stand at Sun's side, both of you watching the generators get placed. You with a furrowed brow, Sun with his rays retracted nearly entirely into his faceplate.
"That might be for the best." The strain in his voice is upsetting, and you reach to touch his arm in sympathy. It surprises him, and he slowly places a hand over yours. "Thank you for helping with the children. It's been... Difficult lately."
I know, you don't say. There's no movement from him, no wit or joke in his voice. Even his touch is limp.
"We're all set!" Freddy's voice is as full of life as Sun's is void of it. He walks over, the ground trembling ever so slightly with every step. "Everything going all right Sunny?"
Sun's grip on you tightens, painfully so with flesh trapped between metal. "Of course! Moon is just having some malfunctioning code, so we are putting him on pause until he gets better." The strain is audible, but Freddy is far too polite to bring it up.
"It's a shame," he says instead, clapping a paw on Sun's shoulder. "He's always good for a tune and a prank. Let us know if you need anything Sunny."
"Of course," Sun replies, but he's drowned out by Bonnie hop-jogging over to grab Freddy's arm.
"C'mon man. We got a set to practice with the girls. Chica's gonna murder us if we aren't on time."
"Ah right. See you Sun, Superstar." Freddy waves his goodbye, but you avoid looking at him. In a couple weeks, Freddy won't be the same. You wish you could warn them, but.
But instead, you watch as the two glamrocks leave, useless in comforting Sun, in saving Bonnie. Maybe if it wasn't for the fire... But you have to keep to your personal priorities right now, and you'd failed too many times already.
Sun signs, releasing you. "Let's get the daycare ready before the kids start showing up. Thank you for coming in early Starlight."
"It's not a problem Sun." You push as much love into your voice as possible. "If you get the art supplies and breakfast snacks ready, I can secure the electric cords."
"Oh of course. That's very smart." His rays remain retracted as he walks to the locked cabinets to prepare. You bum a roll of duct tape off a coworker and climb into the jungle gym, carefully taping the cables out of the way of little feet.
At least Sun brightened when the children started pouring in. You take over explaining the new naptime rules to the parents so he can fawn over the little ones, and the day passes quickly under the unforgiving glare of the lights.
You stay late to help clean, staking chairs out of the way to vacuum. Sun is humming as he pins the new drawings up, taking a few of the oldest ones down and stacking them neatly to the side.
"Will Moon get to come out after hours?" You ask, and Sun stops, arms full with little trays of crayons and markers. You notice there's a couple red hearts drawn on his cheek. Does he know about them?
"Oh, no. We aren't allowed to leave the daycare unless it's for maintenance, so he won't be coming out." Sun hands you the trays. "I'm going to take the old drawings up to our room. Can you finish things up down here?"
"Oh, yeah, of course." Even five loops in you're sticking your foot in your mouth. "Have a good night Sun."
"Thank you Starlight." He gathers the drawings, reaching up for the cord that he and Moon use to travel through the air. It descends and clips in place, and... He's gone.
It hurts to see him in pain like this. But, you will fix things this time. And Sun, very unintentionally, gave you the chance to do some after hours exploring.
✴️✴️✴️
Even better, it turns out the daycare's vacuum cleaner is broken, the always frayed cord finally snapped. Weird that you hadn't noticed this before, but then again, you have been busy every loop. You drag the vacuum out the side door to the manager 's office so it could be thrown out by someone with actual authority. It's quiet, the music playing to softly to muffle your footsteps or rattly old contraption dragging behind you. It shouldn't be easy to sneak up on you, and yet
"Who are you?" A woman's voice cuts through your thoughts, and you jump, giving an inarticulate yell and promptly tripping over yourself as you turn.
She's a security guard you realize, spotting the badge and pseudo-cop attire even as you're blinded by her flashlight. You squint and shield your eyes, clumsily getting back to your feet.
"I'm the daycare assistant." You fumble for your badge, clipped on the inside of your sweater to show. "I'm still cleaning up. Sun's having a bit of a stressful day and it's a lot slower without his help." You're over explaining but, ah well. You're still startled.
"You're not supposed to stay after hours." She checks her watch, and you can finally make out her face. She's pretty, young. Not exactly what you'd think of when you think overnight security guard. "It's late."
"I know." There's an edge of irritation slipping in, even as you gather the broken vacuum again. "I need to finish cleaning."
The guard watches you, and you're uncomfortably aware of her apparent lack of blinking, fiddling with the busted cord instead. "And the daycare attendant is refusing to help?"
"He's had a bad day," you say, openly defensive. "He deserves a break, so I'm taking care of things. It's fine. You can even watch if you want to make sure I'm not stealing anything."
She's still frowning at you, shaking her head. She holsters the flashlight, taking the vacuum from you. "You go on home. I'll make sure the daycare gets cleaned."
"But---" You grimace as her already disgruntled expression turns hostile. "Okay, all right. Can I at least get my stuff?"
She sighs but nods, dropping the vacuum. "Come on then. I need to escort you. Someone's been sneaking around in here after hours already."
Oh? "They have?" Could they have messed with Moon? "Why hasn't the day shift been informed?"
"Everyone important has."
You give up trying to talk, frustrated with her stoney silence. The daycare is lit like a beacon in the pizzeria, and when you enter you cut off to the side, digging your bag out of your cubby. You start to call up to Sun, but the guard is at your shoulder, still watching you in her unnerving way. You swallow instead, gesturing vaguely. "Well, that's it."
"Good. Let's go then." And she takes the lead, leaving you scrambling to catch up. There's no lingering or trying to take the long way around. She leads you directly to the atrium and even watches as you clock out.
"Well, thank you," you say, attempting one more smile. She's unmoved. "Um, have a good night?"
"In the future, if you can't get everything done by the end of your shift, telephone it into the security office," she says, escorting you to the nearest door.
"I will." And you're leaving, confused and frustrated. You turn around when the door locks behind you. The guard is already leaving, her ponytail bouncing with her long steps. Just in case, you try the door, but nope. It's locked.
"Fine then. I'll try again tomorrow," you tell the door, drawing a hand down your face. Hopefully she didn't bully Sun for trying to take a break. You've already decided you do not like her. But how have you missed her the past few loops? You're the only one who knows what's happening, so you should've run into her before. What's changed?

Whumpay Day 29: Time Loop
Tumblr media
I'm beginning to flag a bit now so this one was pretty tricky :') T/W: Time loop, torture, electrocution, supervillain, forced-to-relive Eclipse and Ghost belong to @whumpsmith whilst Frostbringer and Circuit belong to @illustriousshadow x
Tumblr media
Tick tick tick tick tick
“MMGH!”
Agonised cries rip through the air – our friends’ cries. The voltage from the machine – the exact same one that each of them are tightly strapped to – begins to crank up at an alarming rate. Hot white sparks fly across its surface, sending searing impulses rippling through their bodies. Their chilling shrieks send nausea spiking through me.
“We’re running out of time!”
Frostbringer’s strident yell immediately gets my attention. “Kinetica, Eclipse – shut it down! Borealis – with me!”
“Got it!”
I instantly run alongside Eclipse. Neither of us waste a single second as we tear across the room. The pained cries continue from behind us. Another one joins them – Eclipse’s – as a paralysing shock runs through him.
“Clipse, are you—?!”
“Nngh – f-fine,” he forces out through clenched teeth, “D-don’t worry about me, we gotta stop that machine!”
He’s right. No time to waste. Snatching up his hand, I tug him along after me, being a lot more careful to avoid any other shocks this time. A couple more traps do slow us down – as you’d expect from your average supervillain’s lair – but we finally make it to the other side, stopping in front of the panel.
“H-hold on!”
It feels like a lot to ask, especially seeing how much they’re all suffering in that horrible thing. Circuit writhes from the pain, his body convulsing with the electric shocks like a distorted puppet. Ghost whimpers through the liberal layers of tape over his mouth, pulling and straining against the leather straps binding him. Even Cheng – normally so stoic faced – stares back at us with wide eyes over his gag, jolting as the painful currents seep through his body. Drowning out the tirade of muffled cries, the two of us focus on the panel.
“It’s this button, right?!” “Looks like it – give it a push!”
“YAGH!”
Frostbringer and Borealis run at the supervillain, both attacking him in sync. It’s the perfect distraction we need. My hand rises into the air—
“You thought it would be that easy?”
Our eyes shoot back towards Tempus. Frostbringer and Borealis are on the ground at his feet – and a glowing vortex is now beginning to surround him.
What is he—?! “Kinetica! The button! NOW!”
Trembling, my hand smashes down towards it—
“Better luck next time!”
The vortex suddenly expands. A blinding light fills the entire space. Reality feels as if it’s being ripped apart. I grope desperately for Eclipse’s hand, my head threatening to split open as all of our screams combine into one.
What the heck is going—
“MMGH!”
Agonised cries rip through the air – our friends’ cries. My eyes snap open. Somehow I’m…on the other side of the room again?
What the—
“We’re running out of time!”
Frostbringer yells out again, the same instructions as before. “Kinetica, Eclipse – shut it down! Borealis – with me!”
“Got it!”
I blink, startled, attempting to process what just happened.
I swear we just did all this—
“Kinetica, come on!”
Eclipse is just ahead of me. His dark hair brushes his neck as he runs. I scramble to keep up with him, gasping as the traps start to activate again.
The shock!
I tug him away just in time before that same paralysing shock forks down towards the ground. Both of us keep running, unscathed.
“Th-thanks!”
He might get away unharmed, but it confirms my dreaded conclusion.
We’re in a time loop—
“Hold on!”
He’s the one that yells it this time. The entire time all three of them continue crying out, jerking, twitching in a torturous dance. Going through the same pain once again, just as before – major deja-vu—
“YAGH!”
Frostbringer and Borealis run at the supervillain as before. I move for the button—
“You thought it would be that easy?”
The vortex begins to swirl—
No! NO!
The world tears itself apart – and the process repeats.
…again. …and again.
…and again.
...
“MMGH!”
I can’t help the tears rolling down my cheeks. Neither can I help the exhaustion crippling each of my muscles, the heaviness in my chest, the pain of having to go through exactly the same events for the last god knows how many times now. No matter what we do, we’re not fast enough. I’m the only one who seems to realise what’s going on. Now I see Tempus’s game – and unless we stop it, we’re doomed to just keep doing the same. Running, failing, listening to our friends’ tortured screams over and over and—
“We’re running out of—”
“I know!” I snap, already yanking Eclipse with me, “We’ll get the panel – you get Tempus! Hurry!”
Leaving him stunned with no explanation, we keep running, flawlessly avoiding all of the traps – since I know exactly where they are by now – and dragging Eclipse with me.
No matter how quickly we get there he’s always one step ahead – I have to stop him first!
Taking a deep breath, I tear my gaze away from the panel – drowning out the tormented screams behind us – and lock my sights onto Tempus. With all my concentration, my telekinesis succeeds in lifting him off the ground, slamming him into the wall.
“Kinetica what are you—”
“Just trust me! Get to that panel! Now!” I yell, Frostbringer and Borealis hurrying to join me. “Tempus, give it up! It’s over—”
“But at what cost? Your friends’ lives?” he leers, “Whilst you’re busy trying to stop me, they won’t survive the next shock.”
His words succeed in rattling me temporarily, eyes widening. However, it’s just enough time for Tempus to recover, already forming another vortex in his—
Not this time!
Throwing myself at him, the vortex dissolves. I might have the upper hand temporarily, but he’s a lot stronger than me and I can’t hold him down forever with my own skinny form. “Eclipse – now!”
Tempus throws me off him. My back collides with the wall and I crumple down with a winded gasp. The vortex grows once again – before being shattered into tiny icicles.
“Looks like your time is up!” Frostbringer growls, into his ear, slamming him into the ground.
The supervillain struggles and bucks, but he’s useless against our leader. Soon a dull whirring fills the room. The sparks vanish and the machine shuts down.
“No – NO!”
Tempus hollers in rage, making one last move for freedom – only to receive a sharp punch to the head for his troubles.
“The only time he’s getting now is jail time,” Borealis adds with an indignant huff, dusting off their hands before running over to join Eclipse. “Whew, I’m beat. That felt like it went on forever!”
Not quite, Ralis.
W-well, at least it’s over now,” I agree, running my hands across my temples, “Come on, the others—”
“On it.”
The two of us hurry over to join the others, immediately moving to free our winded friends. They’re all barely conscious, but thankfully alive. In the end – despite Tempus’s time-loop designed to trap us – we made it.
Just in time.

Whumpuary #27: Stuck in a Loop
It wouldn’t make much difference. Raph was pretty sure of that by now but something he was even surer of: if it were any of his brothers in this position, they would keep trying. They would say whatever it took, even if they didn’t have much time.
That thought was as bitter as the blood bubbling in Raph’s throat. “…Ain’t your fault, Don,” he rasped thickly. “I swear, this ain’t on you. Y’can’t blame yourself after.” Even though he knew he would.
“After—What are you—D-Don’t talk like that! It’s gonna be fine, I can fix this! I’ll fix it!” Don babbled, hands wildly, uncharacteristically unsteady as he pored over the wound. His frantic indecision was always one of the worst parts.
That and the sheen of tears in Mikey’s wide, unblinking eyes. That and the way Leo’s voice broke against the cruel, relentless tide of fate as he whispered, “You’ll be okay, Raph. Just stay strong. Stay with us.”
“…Can’t. M’sorry. Y’gotta be stronger…for them, Leo, okay? You’re so strong, Fearless, always have been.” Leo valiantly stifled the sob stoked by his earnest words, as if to prove the point, as Raph knew he would. “Jus’ keep bein’ strong until…till I come back. For th’ next round.”
“What? T-The next—?”
“Mikey…?” This was the most important part, Raph had to ensure this much if nothing else. “…Look away. Y’don’t need to see what happens next.”
An inhuman noise was ripped from the pit of Mikey’s stomach and Raph’s heart would have broken if it weren’t already slowing.
The sooner he faded to black, the better. The ringing would drown out his brothers’ grief and turn back into the shrill of his morning alarm—a promise and a warning.
He had to get it right next time. Somehow.

Hello! I’m looking for a fic I read once where Peter is trapped in a groundhog day nightmare where every day ends with Tony dying to matter what he tries. Every day starts with Tony blasting a song… i think it was back in black.
hello, could this possibly be your fic? Peter is the one who dies instead of Tony, but a song does play everyday.
mystery spot by killerqueenwrites
Tony’s trying to enjoy his morning coffee – shouldn’t be a huge ask – when something garishly colourful is slapped down on the countertop under his nose. Apparently, it is too difficult of an ask. He slowly lifts his eyes to meet his kid’s eager gaze. “And what the fuck is this?” “Our next super-fun family vacation!” Peter chirps. Tony looks down again, trying his best to focus, until he reads ‘Mystery Spot! Where the laws of physics have no meaning!’ and instantly taps out. “Yeah, good try, kid. That shit’s all fake.” “Funny, ‘cause I would’ve said that about heart-attack ghosts and evil genies less than a year ago.” “Touché.” or, it's Tuesday.
