I watched the mlb movie and caught up w the show so I got au brainrot again 💀 My first post was more silly and had smaller snippets but somehow I got carried away and ended up drawing a lot more than the first time around. I’ll post it in parts tho so I don’t overload one post 🙏

In short, Tim -> likes Conner…but is fond of Superboy? Kon -> likes Robin, but has gotten to know Tim a lot better.

And the timeline/world for this au is a big mishmash of 90s comics/ROTS movie/TT03/2000s comics and headcanons, so in summary for backstory for this post especially:

Superboy - during Superman’s death, he was created at Cadmus (w funding from Lex) and told he was Superman’s clone, even if he is a lot younger and different. Like the comics/my headcanon, he is fascinated by the celebrity life and Lex who promised him he’d be as great as Superman, assigned him Rex Leech who would be his personal agent/pr manager/etc. Lex was kind of like…his funder and sponsor that promoted him as the guy that would give new hope in Supermans absence.

Flash forward to Superman’s return, he decides to go on a world tour/become disillusioned with celebrity life until Clark comes and takes him to the farm and suggests he lives as Conner Kent to get away from the likes of people like Lex and Rex lol. So he’s not connected to them by contract anymore but he will do things out of obligation (like being a bodyguard at a party)

In this au, Lex doesn’t know Conner is Superboy either, and he hasn’t told Kon to what extent he was involved in Kon’s creation (yet…) but he’s hinted at it before

Tim - in this au, he’s also been operating as Robin for a longer time but is recently dealing with also becoming Tim Drake-Wayne and preparing to become the possible successor to Bruce Wayne’s company so that’s why he’s at this fancy party 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ I haven’t quite decided how much of his backstory to adapt to this au specifically but he becomes Robin in a similar way as his debut with becoming Robin bc he sees that Batman is lost without one and Batman needs a Robin. By the time this au starts he’s gone to different schools and I guess is going to a new one where Conner is also attending? Also his parents are now dead in this 😔 and he’s very secretive compared to Superboy and is the one that attaches more weight to a secret identity

they somehow go to the same school idk don’t worry about it i throw logic out the window in this regard for my silly lovesquare shenanigans 🫡 the World building isn’t the main focus it’s just a backdrop to their dynamic anyways . Here. Take my cringe.

bart and cassie knowing there’s a lovesquare situation going on & not saying anything because they think it’s entertaining as fuck to watch tim & kon lose their minds

honestly i find it so much more fun when no one knows. like it's funny for a one-off gag if their friends know, but for the overall story imo it's much more compelling if the dramatic irony extends to everyone! they don't all have to be excluded from shenanigans. gimme bart who wants to strangle supernova but loves hanging out with conner on gamer weekends. cassie with an impassioned defense of why supernova should hand his gender over to her and has no idea why conner is choking on his milkshake. anita and greta who are both pretty sure supernova and red robin (or... rook? other tim names? idk) are secretly dating and both tim and conner are like NO THEY'RE NOT but can't actually back this up. get the whole gang in on the shenanigans it's fun

me reading chapter four of bbts for the 3rd time this week, begging for timkon recs

sometimes i feel like i've read way more timkon fics than i have, and i think it's because there are like a dozen story concepts in my friends' dms that i've experienced in ultra 4k HD technicolor inside my brain. like the high fantasy au where tim is embedded in lex luthor's court (as a spy for bruce) and he's "gifted" an experimental kryptonian as a fucked-up loyalty test. or the one where tim is doing some light recon on a top-secret government facility and ends up finding their top-secret superman clone. or the timkon subplot of the OC boyfriend extended universe. the ultra 4k HD technicolor TV inside my brain is a great place to be a timkon fan.

With the balcony scene with ur timkon mlb lovesquare au it’s bc Tim’s mourning his parents (well more like the idea of them since they were never around…) and what if Kon finds out that they died and Tim feels like he’s just a burden on Bruce and that’s why he’s trying so hard to act all perfect and it really opens Kon’s eyes. Tim isn’t pretentious, he’s just a depressed kid trying to prove himself. Kon knows how it feels to be out of place in one’s new home.

ough yeahhhh i think i had a little different idea but that's basically around the same idea i had for why he was Sad on the balcony and how kon would realize he's judged too quickly i guess T-T

maybe i should make a tag for it to group all the posts i make about it but uhhh

its basically just me playing with the lovesquare pairings and taking moments from the mlb show and applying timkon to it, like the balcony scene. its not a super detailed au or whatever.

one of the biggest things i wished the show did was explore how the different dynamics change and kind of merge into one as they get to know each other better, or how they could potentially reverse dynamics so i imagine smth like that happening w this au i guess

i guess the first one would be called superrobin? superboy and robin meet each other as heroes and become a team, and its pretty much the same as ladynoir in the show. flirting and bantering, unending trust and loyalty and adoration, but the secret identities keep them a hair apart. in the comics, SB takes a bit to come around but i do think he's always admired and cared about robin's opinion of him, and then the whole angst trust issue thing ladynoir got going on in s4 is sort of like tim and kon in the era of comics where kon had trouble trusting tim bc tim wouldnt reveal his name and was secretive.

i haven't seen the last eps of s4 but im pretty sure there's a whole thing where mari thinks felix is adrien and he gets annoyed/jealous? yeah im imagining that but with Match posing as Kon and kon being annoyed lol

then there's timkon, which i guess would be their civilian pairing? conner at first thinks tim is stuck up and acts like he's above it all, which is taken from their early dynamic in the comics and i just applied it to the civilian side. meanwhile tim is trying to deny his feelings. you know how marinette is like a fashion designer or whatever? i think tim should be a photographer

then you have...robinkon? robkon? which is the equivalent to ladrien. i guess both would be very flustered but idk what else to say about this one

and finally supertim...or timSB idkkkk. the marichat equivalent where you have tim and superboy who have the least affectionate opinion of each other in this form, but have a cool opportunity to get to see the other side of their pal. like superboy gets to see tim when he's not robin and how he's just a Kid you know trying his best, and tim gets to see that superboy isn't always bombastic and obnoxious and can be quite sweet, helping him realize that SB is a pretty good hero and a cool guy. of course in this, superboy wouldn't know tim is robin, but then he'd be nicer to tim when he's conner now that he's more understanding. also that episode where chat has to be marinette's bodyguard and she tries to hide her teasing? or the balcony scene? i like imagining those with them lol

also im pretty sure theres a theory adrien is a sentimonster or clone thingy and kon is a clone soooooo theres that too

I love your timkon MLB love square au it’s so big brained, I’m invested. Love Kon admiring Robin but thinking Tim’s a stuck up, and Tim crushing on Kon but thinking Superboys way too flashy. It’d be cool to hear more abt the au if you’re willing to share 👀

i think lex would have the role of hawkmoth, being a villain dad and all, but i have no idea how kons whole family situation would work out. he was staying w the kents but now he’s staying w lex? idkkk

also i can imagine adrien vs felix shenanigans but with kon vs match, with tim having to figure out Match is an Imposter

other ppl have given me drawing ideas so hopefully i get to those soon. the fun part of the lovesquare is thinking about how the dynamics could change over time as they get to know both sides of the person 🥺

its just an au inspired by mlb episodes and the lovesquare, but not exactly set in the mlb universe? sorry ik it’s confusing i haven’t fleshed it out😭

ig its some version of the canon universe, but i just take plot points from mlb and go “okay but what if timkon” for shits n giggles
