Generally when this particular entry of the report cards is mentioned is to mention how "accidentally" what Hinata says about Komaeda smile sounds very romantic even when the meant reading is Hinata being disturbed about Komaeda. While I understand why people would have this opinion, I wanted to briefly explain two reasons why the romanticism of this line is clearly intentional and why the line is not just about Hinata being confused and scared about him.

1. The use and subversion of an already established romantic line

One detail that is often never mentioned when discussing this line is that it is not the only instance where Hinata says something romantically charged about Komaeda's smile and how it's clearly meant to be some sort of callback and subversion of the first line. The first time Hinata says something like that it's used to show how calm Komaeda makes him feel and how much he likes his presence, and now Komaeda's smile is used to represent Hinata's confusion towards him and how all of the things that he used to perceive as well intentioned and kind are now perceived with a malicious intent by Hinata. The purpose of the line is to represent how Hinata's feelings for Komaeda have changed since the first free time event and to tell that even if Hinata is now angered and confused, the initial attraction he felt for him is still there.

It's also worth noting that the similarity between these two lines goes beyond just being about a smile. The structure of both of the sentences is not only similar, but the two smiles are described as carefree. Another detail that makes this scene more similar is that the adjective Hinata uses to say "calms me down" in the Japanese version is magireru (紛れる) while in this context it means to get distracted from your worries, magireru also means to get too absorbed in something or distracted, which is akin to the sensation of "looking at it and not understanding anything" that Hinata describes in the report card, which practically sounds like he gets too distracted and absorbed into his smile.

2. Clarifying the context of the line

When people discuss this line, it is usually only interpreted in a vacuum, hardly even considering the context of the free time event the report card is from. The most common interpretation of this line is that Hinata relates the concept of Komaeda smiling with him talking about his beliefs, so that's why Hinata can not understand a single thing of what he's talking about. This interpretation completely ignores the scene this line was referring to. The line in the report card is clearly referring to this part where Komaeda reassures Hinata with a smile, and Hinata questions the intention behind Komaeda doing this. The line in the report is most likely referring to this interaction since this is the only part of that free time event where Komaeda smiling is mentioned, and for the way it's written, it seems to be an interaction that should be taken into account. This part is clearly not talking about Hinata being disturbed or scared about Komaeda but it is trying to convey the confusion Hinata feels about Komaeda still being kind and friendly with him even when he's supposed to be a terrible person in his eyes.

Sleep I got but I have more A/B/O thought

The familiar weight of Blade on their back is a comforting one, well besides the knot that presses so well against their inner walls. They feel a sharp sting against their glands and whine in a mix of pleasure and pain. Blade always got so bitey during their shared cycles, always biting some part of them to comfort them and to soothe himself. It's a little uncomfortable now that they're more lucid but they don't mind it too much content to let him have his way. He growls when he feels them shift their hips to get a little more comfortable but otherwise doesn't do much. It isn't until minutes later when they're half asleep does he release them from his teeth and begin to purr. He's careful as he licks their fresh bite to soothe the ache. They shiver a little from the light touches but they begin to purr as well only to have it turn into a whimper when he begins to suck on the wound. He really is too much.

I have been in a bughawk mood two nights in a row now but I've consumed all the available content so I've just been thrashing around restlessly- anyways I'm giving in I'm writing some headcanons let's go:

- Mihawk is a sloppy kisser. Like, what's the point if he's not basically tongue fucking someone?? Let's just say Buggy was NOT prepared. Their first kiss was so messy and it left Buggy breathless and he kind of wanted to punch Mihawk but also to kiss him again (he didn't have to choose as Mihawk quickly did the latter)

- They're both big on reading. Once they realised their shared interest they decided to start their own little book club. They mostly read romance because they think it's funny (but they also genuinely enjoy it, when it's well written...) Their favourite thing to do is talking about the smut scenes and trying to decipher the sex positions the characters are in. It's harder than it sounds. Bonus: Crocodile takes interest in their new found thing (purely because he thinks it's weird that they're getting along so well) and picks up the latest book they're reading when he sees it on a table. Let's just say he is mortified.

- Mihawk's garden is very personal to him. It's his one escape from everything, so he let's no one in (not that anyone would dare) There is however one exception to this rule, and that is Buggy. While the clown is usually very loud and flashy, he tends to get very quiet in privacy and Mihawk appreciates that. It's nice to have company sometimes. Whether Buggy is just sitting there doing whatever in silence, or he's reading to Mihawk as he tends to his vegetables, his presence has become a source of comfort. Mihawk would never admit it out loud but he almost prefers it to his solitude.

- Mihawk doesn't care for physical affection, but Buggy thrives on it. He loves cuddling, which is not something Mihawk is used to. He usually disappears after the nightly activities are done with. He's so used to leaving that it's exactly what he does after his first time sleeping with Buggy. The other man is so distraught the next day and it confuses Mihawk. Buggy's eyes are bloodshot and he's seemingly ignoring him. A quick confrontation makes him realise that the clown assumed he regretted the night before just because he wasn't there when he woke up. Mihawk never left him alone at night after that. And quite honestly, he's come to realise cuddling actually does feel nice.

- While Mihawk is not big on physical touch, he does love playing with Buggy's hands like a fidget toy. The contrast between their hands, his long, slim pale and manicured fingers against Buggy's slightly chubby, darker and clearly worked ones is fascinating to him. And they're so soft to the touch. He loves just detaching one hand from its owner and holding it when they're apart. When Buggy does eventually need the hand, if he does resist giving it back for a bit, its their little secret.
