Setting in the year 1995 in a rural town near Birch Lake, a facility has been trying to locate what is said to be jumping into people's dreams and being able to communicate with them, but no matter how hard they try, it seems the workers are never able to catch them as whatever or whoever is doing this seems to get out of their grasp. They try and try to find it, and yet nothing... "sir! We tried everything, but what if this entity doesn't want us to find them? "If it keeps escaping us, then clearly it does not want us to know whom or what it is," a young worker spoke up regarding the situation going on and made a point on this. Plus, they are not the only ones who were after this case; the government had been trying to solve this case for months, and regarding their findings, it seems neither party is successful.

After many fails, it was best to take a break from this and come back to the project another time. Somewhere else in the town, a storyteller named Sarafei was struggling to publish a new story for the community library. A lot of the books she's written have been very popular with kids and adults. She wants to write something that's never been written about-in this case, a new genre. The idea seemed engrossing, but hopefully she can find the inspiration. "Hmmm.. I could try and write about a princess who saves her kingdom... no, maybe a pirate story?" Ugh! "Why is this so hard.." She planted her face into the table, annoyed due to being stumped; this was certainly the hardest part of being a storyteller. The young girl saw it was time to head to work, so she grabbed her belongings and took her car.

The area she resides in is a rural town where everyone knows each other, and it is one of the safest towns yet! As Sarafei drove through the town, she decided to pick up some lunch from a sandwich shop nearby and picked up an avocado with chicken sandwich. The worker knew her, and the two would engage in small talk. "Hey Sarafei, how's your story going?" The owner had been running the shop with his family since 1985. "Hehe, I won't lie, it has been quite the challenge to write, but I'm certain that I'll find the idea to create one." Although it's been difficult since I've been stumped like hell,... The owner told her not to stress so much about it and inspiration will come on its own. Sarafei nodded, paying for the sandwich before making her way to the car and to the library, which wasn't very big but had a fair amount of books you could read plus the newspapers too.

"Fuck... It looks like I'll need to come empty-handed. "Hopefully they don't mind if I could get an extension, right?" Sarafei just sighed heavily before making her way up the stairs and opening the door to the front desk, where she greeted the receptionist before making her way to the lockers to put her bags away. As she was doing that, one of the other workers arrived, and if her memory is correct, their name was Kija. They had dark hair and wore the same uniform, but it was the male version with pants.

"Hey Kija!" The young man got startled when Sarafei yelled his name so suddenly, "Hi Sara!" Anyway, how are you? I heard you were writing a story. "How's that going for you?" He was really nice and a good friend to her as they had known each other for a while and could talk about anything. "Oh! Well, I'm not going to lie, I have not been able to find the inspiration to make the story, and now I need to show up empty handed. Head down in shame, she closed her locker.

"Do you think there's actually a high chance I'lll make a new story? One that's never veen written before and also one which people will love!" Kija looked at Sarafeis expression since she was having doubts on if the story writing is for her.. "Well.." He exclaims "When I was trying to figure out what plants to give at the community.. I thought to myself what ones do i like or what ones did I not plant yet, sometimes trying something old can turn to something new so don't think too much about it" Sarafei smiled nodding and went to work by putting away books and reorganising the shelves by placing the books back to where they belong in the correct section. As she was doing this her boss came to talk about the her story and why its late, "You yet to hand your work in again I'm starting to think you are incapable of doing something this simple" They were dissapointed with Sarafei and decided to give her 5 weeks and if she doesn't have it by then she'll be let go.

It's not like this has happened before; her brains have just been stumped on writing; however, there was one place they could go to, which was around the corner of some shelves, a window seat, where she could listen to her walkman and allow her mind to rest. Unknowingly, that little rest became a full-on nap, and Sarafei found herself deep in sleep, entering a dream... Though she was not aware of it, when she woke up, she was in the library, but there was something off about it. All the books seemed to be blank, and it looked to be around 7:30 p.m. Could she have slept in? That can't be possible, and someone would have come to wake her up. It was starting to get very weird here. Sarafei got up and went to grab her things from inside her locker, which didn't seem any different. It looked normal, and her stuff was still inside. "This feels very unsettling for sure; I better head home.."

Everything outside was different as no one was outside except for some birds and the stars; everyone else was absent too. "An unfamiliar voice could be heard from the corner of the library. It was not like a person's voice thought... In the corner of the house, it looked like an eyeball with two angel wings wearing a pink and white like attire. "Hey wait!" Sarafei went after them, but the stranger ran to a door that was just there before going in.

"What the?! "Ok this must be a dream, because there's no way in hell I didn't see that happen." Sarafei freaked out when the door appeared, but something was telling her that she had to go inside and follow the angelic eyeball-headed human to whatever was on the other side. One hand on the knob, she opened it to see an open field with blue skies and green hills; it was a very beautiful sight indeed. The eye having noticed, she followed and ran into the house! Why was that human following her!? Unfortunately, she didn't know why they were, but it can't hurt to ask, right?

"Exuse me! but you have been following me, and I want to know why." The eyeball looked at Sarafei very cautiously and slightly annoyed too due to her being here, "This world might seem beautiful but it is not, and your being here will only put you in danger." Sarafei was taken aback when the eyeball spoke. They explain how they woke up in the library but didn't know she would end up here: "Sorry, I didn't mean to enter your... dream world? "I also apologise if I scared you." The angel eye looked at her; this human didn't seem like a threat, and by the looks of it, they seemed to have no malicious intentions either. Perhaps they're safe?

"Hmm.. well, I can help you wake up and go back home, seeing as you got trapped in my world, which means it's going to take you time to get back and out of here." "The only problem is that the keys that unlock the doors out of each area have been misplaced. Well, that was a problem then. Maybe if Sarafei helped look for the keys, then maybe she could get home! The angelic eye thought for a moment and then agreed to go with them to help since they knew the house and could help navigate the way out. "I don't really like helping people, but you're an exception." She snapped her fingers, making 3 little eyes fly near Sarafei, and explain they'll be able to see anything hidden. Sarafei thanked them for helping her out. "Excuse me but.. would it be ok to ask you your name?" She didn't want to seem rude for not asking in the first place, so for good manners, it was best to ask them. "Well, if you must know, my name is Celina, and my job is to help people like yourself get home from here." She explains that there are bad people who are looking for her, and it can be difficult to know whom to trust regarding the safety of this place.

As the two walked inside, Sarafei noticed the interior was similar to her grandmother's place, with the flower couch and plain carpet. It was as if they had entered a house, and Celina said that to get out of this house and into the next area, they needed to find a key in the shape of a flower. It shouldn't be too difficult to find, at least that's what they think, and Celina hasn't had anyone here for a while, so she should know where the keys are! "So do you have visitors come here by accident?" Sarafei was checking a cabinet with some porcelain dolls and those pretend eggs you usually see. "Hmm.. by people who get stuck here and have no fucking clue on how to get back?" Then yes, I do get visitors!" She seemed not to be very interested in this conversation prior to the fact that Celina was speaking a little brashly and showing they did not want to talk.

There were some old toys found in a box but no key, and Sarafei needed to get back home or else she would be fired for sleeping in the library. All of a sudden, she finds on a cabbage patch doll's hair what seems to be a silver key similar to the one Celina was describing! "Hey, is this the key you're describing?! I'm just taking a wild guess here.." Sarafei took the key off the doll to bring it over to them, checking if it was the right key, but to their dismay, it wasn't it. It looks like they need to keep searching; where would it have been placed last time?

The two searched for 50 minutes and have not found the key, Sarafei was starting to grow increasingly fatigued and her eyes were starting to close as the two looked for the key for 50 minutes without success. Her mind and body were now in a different state, where everything felt light and her body was being swept up with the stars. She felt her body go light as they dove into a deep sleep. When Sarafei woke up, she assumed she would be back at home, but Celia had moved her to the next area of the room instead! Sarafei swiftly rose to her feet after feeling her face flush with embarrassment to discover that this chamber was similar to the old play grounds from her youth. "Hello, Celia? Is this in there for a reason?"

Sarafei is given a straightforward explanation by Celia that this house captures the memories of the most beloved early 2000s trends and childhood favourites. Sarafei suddenly felt as though someone was shaking her as the vision of the house and Celina faded. The key should ideally be in this room, allowing the two of them to unlock the next room and leave. When Celina calls out, her voice faints just enough for her to find herself in her own bed with the morning sky greeting her and the time on her phone showing 7:48am. Gosh, how did she get here at all? Sarafei's friend Kija unexpectedly entered the room with a glass of orange juice and inquired as to how she was doing. "You weren't returning calls, so I drove to the library where I found you passed out and brought you back. Are you okay?" He gave her the juice before sitting down next to them, and Sarafei drank it while debating whether or not to tell Kija about her dream and whether he would pay attention to her.

So, so you see, huh? Celina is outside her home, but why? Where is Kija? She's awake and in her.

you don’t need to be sorry about it, i completely understand. currently, mine is also a mess. well, you enjoy drinking beer because it has a bad taste? that’s such a weird thing to say, but i do like this point of view. sometimes i also enjoy things that taste a little bad, like these extremely sour gummies, they’re literally the best but at the same time they’re terrible. safe options usually are the best, but i want to try new things someday. marlboro is definetly the one most people smoke, but i don’t quite like them... particularly i prefer djarum black or lucky strike, and i do like the flavored ones, so you almost got it right. and i don’t know what you smoke, i would say the same one’s i do but that may not be right, you tell me if i got it. you can still become a bookworm again, i hope you’ll be able to find books that make you feel excited to read, reading is the best escape from reality.

i’d say overwatch is one of the best games ever created, but that may be because i was obsessed with it when i was a kid and knew everything about the lore. i always played roblox alone, but i’d like to play it with you someday. i would like to have vampire teeth to feed with blood. i’ll imagine you with shark teeth and you can imagine me with vampire one’s.

people can’t sense my presence either and when they do it just feels weird. i think i may be seem as some unpleasant person due to my serious face, not that i care. indeed, i followed you. and you already have your guesses? why don’t you try your lucky, then? if you guess it wrong, i’ll appear.

Yes.. hehe. I ended up liking the taste. Oh! That’s nice, I smoke the black ones too.. Guess we have similar taste. Overwatch has.. lore? :0 I don’t know why I’m surprised but I didn’t expect it, I’m not much of a gamer guy.. I always liked them but I didn’t had money to get the ones I wanted and I suck with computer so.. just recently I’m starting to try and play games myself instead of watching other people, sometimes I get lazy though and end watching people playing but with no commentary. It would be cool to play with you sometime (: and you already a vampire to me so don’t worry! Ahh people find someone that is not smiling all the damn time and find it rude it’s so annoying.. I don’t want to be near people that I need to pretend to be feeling some way so they don’t feel uncomfortable like that’s my face, deal with it. Just because my face is serious doesn’t mean I hate them. It’s just my face you know? And ahh that’s not fair.. TT I don’t want to embarrass myself if I say it wrong..

PGR COMMANDANT Q & A

FINALLY TOOK THE TIME TO ANSWER THIS-- ssdsjdlksd

1) How do you feel about being a Commandant? Are you proud of your job? Terrified of failing at your job?

Higetsu: Honestly speaking, it's nothing new compared to what I went through in the past-- just that now I've become an authority figure that has to lead people. ...Truthfully, however, a little unnerving, but it has to be done, and I knew what I was getting into when I decided to become one.

Yoko: Mhhmm... it's tough, I'm not gonna lie. Sometimes I have to make decisions I personally don't like but the situation demands it, and it ends up not sitting right with me. ...That's why an occasional loophole exploitation here and there is fine in spare amounts, ain't it~?

(Higetsu: Who the hell taught you to think like that-- you know what, never mind, I'd be shooting myself in the foot if I finished that sentence. // Yoko: *giggles, does a victory pose*)

2) Why did you become Commandant in the first place? How did you become a Commandant?

Yoko: Brother and I decided to become a Commandant to honor mom's memory. It sounds kinda childish to have that as a reason to take up a career as dangerous as this, but, at least to me (though I'm sure brother shares the same sentiment as I do), mom was everything to us, so we wanted to experience what she did, see the sights she did-- all the good and bad.

Higetsu: "That person", huh... Speaking of which, the relatively-fresh flowers at that grave--... No, it's nothing. In any case, "that person" took us in as her children after finding us in the remnants of our old home, bringing us back to Babylonia, to her home and husband. Well, things went as you can see, no?

3) How do your Constructs feel about your leadership skills? Are they comfortable with you? Do they fear you?

Higetsu: There's no issues at the moment with either Strike Hawk or Gray Raven. After all, if there was any problem, either Chrome or Lucia would've told me. ...Leading isn't my strongest skill, though, and sometimes they worry me. Actually, scratch that, not sometimes, FREQUENTLY. Haaaahh.

Yoko: Hrmm~... honestly, I'm not entirely too confident with my leadership skills, and the others often say that I'm a bit too lenient when it comes to dealing with Gray Raven, but... they're still people, you know? I don't want them to get hurt too much, but they don't seem to value their own lives as much as I'd wish they do...

4) Do you think the war against the Corrupted will ever come to an end?

Yoko: It will certainly come, I know it. As long as everyone continues to fight for a future, a future where we can all live in peace, then I believe that this war will come to an end. Be it in our lifetime, or the next generation.

Higetsu: ... Honestly speaking, I'm not as optimistic as Yoko. This war has been going on for a century at this point, and we are still barely scratching the surface of our objectives; that and it would seem like a bunch of rats managed to infiltrate the higher-ups. ...In any case, while I do think that the odds are stacked against us, it doesn't mean I don't believe that, one day, this entire hell will come to an end.

5) Are you in love with anyone? What drew you to them?

Higetsu: ....No comment.

Yoko: Brother~~!! It's no fun if you don't answer a harmless question like this~~!! Or do you want me to talk about your ex-penpal--

Higetsu: I evoke my right to remain silent, and DON'T YOU DARE- LIKE I KEEP SAYING, WE WERE ONLY FRIENDS-- Don't make me not let you come to the Oasis with me next time.

Yoko: Hrrmph...! Fiiine~. In any case, I'll answer here right now. I--

Higetsu: It's Lee. We all know it, you're way too obvious in your affections for him.

Yoko: Ehehe... E-Ehem--! I-In any case~~ the things I like about Lee, gosh, there's so many I might not be able to tell everything (and it would take too long)--!

Higetsu: Then just list off the top 3 things you like about him (to shorten the exposition).

Yoko: Hmmm, top 3 things about Lee, huh.... well, for starters, I like his caring nature; it's not that obvious at first glance, but he really does care about the people around him, so much so that while he may gripe and verbally snark at others, in the end he chooses to do good by them and will protect them. Secondly, I like his focus and determination; he's a man of his word, and he doesn't make promises lightly, seeing them as something that must be upheld in sincerity-- ehe, his face whenever he's working on his tools and machinery is something I can't ever not look at. Thirdly, I like him; he's equally easily flustered and annoyed by a lot of things, but at the same time, he's also very serious and earnest in what he sets out to do; he's not honest with himself, but his actions speak for itself. ....That got long, didn't it?

Higetsu: Very much so.

Yoko: Ehe~.

6) If you had to choose between saving your squad, or saving yourself to make sure you would fight on in their honor, which would you choose?

Yoko: Both. I would save myself and my squad. I won't accept any other option; rather, if there's no other option, then I WILL force that third option in!

Higetsu: Logically speaking, both of my squads would tell me to survive and live another day, and I would agree with that. ...However, such a thing doesn't sit well with me. Even if there's only the tiniest sliver of a possibility that I could save them, no matter how reckless or dangerous it may be, then I'd save the Strike Hawks and Gray Ravens.

7) You have to make a difficult choice that will affect your squad and another squad. Which squad do you prioritize? Why?

Higetsu: We can't always save people from out of our reach, so it's best to protect the ones closest to you.

Yoko: But if there's a chance that we could help them, then--

Higetsu: ...I know. ...In the end, it's your choice to do what you think is right, Yoko.

Yoko: ...Yeah. I get it. Brother wants to protect me, Gray Raven, and Strike Hawk, even at the cost of other's lives.... that's why I wish to save the others too.

8) Who is your least favorite Construct/person to be around? Why?

Higetsu: Nanami.

Yoko: EEEHHH!??! Why?! Nanami's fun to be around!!

Higetsu: Shall I list off the reasons?

Yoko: ....Ok you have a point, but she's not at all that bad--!!

Higetsu: True, but the amount of headaches she causes us is just... haaaah.

Yoko: Ah, you're starting to sound like Watanabe. Is Brother becoming an uncle now? (laughs)

Higetsu: ...I'm leaving.

Yoko: Wait I was just kidding-- brother-- BROTHER--!!! (We're not even finished with answering the questions yet~!!)

Higetsu: Just kidding.

Yoko: Really--!! (pout)

Higetsu: (amused chuckle) What about you, Yoko?

Yoko: Eh? Me? Hmm.... I suppose... it would have to be Gabriel. It's a first that I'm saying this but, I really do hate him.

Higetsu: ... Don't worry, I can say the same thing.

9) What other Commandants would you like to meet? (a clear invitation for you to involve any of my Commandants lol, because I'm always up for interacting with others)

Yoko: I'm always happy to meet other Commandants~. It's always nice to meet your colleagues whenever, especially during off-work hours.

Higetsu: Except Vanessa though. I'd rather not deal with her again.

Yoko: Ehehe... Brother, you're making a scary face right now~. In any case, I've always wanted to meet Qiu, Ash, Xiao, Kyrie, and Noir!

Higetsu: Aaaah, them. They're interesting people, not gonna lie.

10) What will you do once the war is over? Will you miss leading your squad, or will you be happy that the war is over?

Higetsu: What will I do after the war is over? ...I haven't actually put any thought into what I would do after this is all over. What about you, Yoko?

Yoko: Hmmm... honestly, I wanna join the Association of Arts, specifically the Archaeological team! Because, you know, by then, there would be no more worry of the Punishing attacking, and we could finally be able to recover in peace the remnants of the Golden Age. I want to see it all-- what other stuff left have we not unearthed from the sands of time, what potential wonders are there left from the past. ...And of course, I wanna settle down with Lee someday too, ehe.

Higetsu: I see. You've really thought about this through, huh.

Yoko: Only a little, and just fairly recently. ...Not gonna lie, I'm gonna end up missing these days; where we're all together, even through pain and suffering, because there are still a lot of good moments to cherish.

Higetsu: But it doesn't mean that you have to cut off your connections, now does it. So long as you still value them wholeheartedly and sincerely, those bonds you hold close to you will never die out.

Yoko: Aaawww, brother, you're being finally honest~! (pokes)

Higetsu: ....Shut it. (pout)

Yoko: What about you, brother? What're you gonna do after the war ends?

Higetsu: Like I said, I don't know, since I haven't thought of it yet. ...But, I suppose quietly settling down somewhere would be nice.

Yoko: Oh, right, speaking of which-- didn't Watanabe extend an offer for us to join the Oasis? ...Don't tell me, brother is thinking--

Higetsu: No, I am not.

Yoko: But you ARE thinking about it, yes?

Higetsu: ....

Yoko: Hehe~. To be fair, the Oasis isn't so bad. The people there are really nice and warm. They really do seem to be people just trying to live and get by, helping and supporting each other.

Okay last thing about Johnny b/c I hope he's not hogging all the jojo spotlight haha. (it's so fun to poke and prod around with someone as terrible as that though). What if darling got ahold of someone from his past who he was scared of or caused him trauma? Like what if his dad somehow got in contact with darling and darling was like "Johnny, some guy who knows you says he's here to see you" and he opens the door and sees his dad.

warning: johnny (abuse and/or mentions of abuse).

No worries! Oddly enough, Giorno gets most of the Jojo spotlight on this blog, and Johnny’s a close second. Whenever I bring either of them up, I get like 20 asks about either, hehe, it’s really fun! I’m glad my interpretations spark so much discussion... I love discussions....

So, my interpretation of Johnny is that he’s such a horrible person to darling because it gives him some semblance of control. He had no control over his childhood, no control over his father’s clear dislike for him, no control over how no one visited him in the hospital, no control over his injury. He is powerless, and the power darling gives him when they cower is addicting. He likes it, he gets drunk on it, he wants more and more and more until there’s nothing left but a husk of the person he ‘loves’. The power makes him forget his trauma, his fear.

Darling bringing that back is a huge blow to his ego. He’d crumble right there. As much as he tries to put on a brave face for his abuser, he’d back away and crumble and shake and cry. It’ll be a sight to behold for darling, finally seeing him in a position of cowardice and fear rather than one of power and abuse. Johnny never thought he’d see his father again, but here he is, in the flesh. Maybe he came to apologize, but it’s unlikely. He won’t accept it. He wants his father gone, he wants to go back to the little paradise he created with his darling.

But that isn’t how life works. Johnny had this a long time coming.

anon 2: Jotaro insulting darling: stop being an annoying WHORE! >:\ Johnny insulting darling: -and so in conclusion, yes, you ARE the reason your dad overdosed on drugs after he left, and honestly, if my kid was as ret*rded as you, I'd need the drugs too.

Exactly! Johnny is an expert at manipulation. He knows how to make someone vulnerable, what weaknesses to exploit, what habits to pick at. Jotaro is verbally abusive, but he isn’t mentally abusive, at least not intentionally. He just has a hard time showing his emotions, though it does get better as he ages. Johnny though... oh he knows how to show his emotions. He knows how to use it to his advantage and how to bring people down. He’s in a wheelchair; he can’t fight, not until he gets his stand at least. He’s had to make do, find other ways to feel powerful and in control, for once.

anon 3: Man I feel like I'm the only person who always thought Johnny was a softboi with low self-esteem issues, like the "please don't leave me or I'll kill myself" type of yandere, oh well :( I really enjoy your vision of him tho ngl, I didn't know he had so much dark potencial and it actually grew on me a little lol

Ah that’s actually how I feel with johnny! I felt like I was the only person who sees the darkness and potential in him, and I always get at least one person asking why I don’t make him soft and insecure like others might. But to be honest, I see someone like Narancia as the type you’re talking about -- low self-esteem, soft, very manipulative even though he means well. Johnny though, he has so much potential. It’d be a shame to let it go to waste.

I’m glad my Johnny grew on you a little! It’s hard to like him, especially if you were expecting someone soft and clingy, but I honestly love the nuanced, sadistic, and asshole yanderes most aha. They’re just so much fun to write. Anyone can be clingy, but it’s hard to be as much of a horrible asshole as yandere Johnny is. That’s the fun in it!

anon 4: How *would* yandere Johnny Joestar show his affection? Does he at all??

He does show affection, believe it or not. He’s charismatic as hell and knows how to get under people’s skin. Since his ideal darling is someone insecure and easily malleable, it’s even easier. All he has to do is compliment them, sometimes when they’re least expecting it, and relish in the way their eyes light up and they cling to his praise and attention. These moments are rare, and he’s certain to sprinkle them every so often between his interactions with darling. Just enough to keep them coming back for more. Just enough to give them hope.

That said, he’s fond of verbal “affection”. Praise, encouragement, even simply talking to his darling normally can be considered affectionate by his standards. He’s very handsy too and will feel his darling up, but when he’s being affectionate, he’ll ask first. He doesn’t particularly care for consent, but he knows that the more he pushes them, the more likely they are to snap out of whatever trance he has them under and fight back. He has his stand for self-defense, but he’s still physically powerless. Any tactic that lets him maintain control over his darling is fair game. Imagine his darling is touched-starved or very unused to being touched affectionately, by him or anyone else. They’ll cling to him, won’t they? After the initial shock and fear, they’ll cling. They’ll rely on him. They need him, his validation, as rare as it may be.

He needs them to need him. It’s how he keeps himself together.

Alright, I finally read Reincarnation no Kaben

AFTER MONTHS (it’s probably been a month? My mind doesn’t keep track of the days) I FINALLY CAUGHT UP TO RNK. Ty to Okita anon for the recommendation (*￣3￣)╭💕💕💕 I absolutely loved it.

Oh, and I’ll finish answering all my leftover asks and I SHOULD have a fic done by tomorrow. I was so ready to write and then I got up. Now I’m back to bed.

I’m just gonna write this as a log since I read super super slow and I’m only on ch 7 at the start of writing this but I’m really liking it already. Though to be fair. I love everything okita anon recommends haha. I remember you saying you were simping over Kouu and I haven’t gotten to the part where he appears but I wanted to quickly google what he looked like to prepare myself and I see this:

I was actually kinda surprised by how many western figures were in the manga since I know there are only like 7? Around 7 western figures that pop up in any anime/manga but seeing people like Albert Fish was kinda surprising but I really liked it. Also, at the end of certain chapters they write little bio’s on them so you get to know more about them was such a nice touch. I also love that the tradition of making males -> females still stays strong even outside the fate universe hehe.

Literally, the next chapter I see him. AHHHHHHHHH. Well maybe not him but his eyeballs.

This guy lowkey reminds me of the MC’s brother but it’s 99% because he has the same long ponytail. I wouldn’t be surprised if the brother was apart of the the Greats. Honestly, Ein reminds me of those really hard headed girls that are actually really kind on the inside but aren’t good at expressing themselves (maybe because that’s pretty much her character). I also like that Ein doesn’t like males but she’s hiding behind this guy. At least, I’m..99% sure this is Ein.

I FUCKING KNEW IT. AS SOON AS I SAW HE GOT A THEIF TALENT I COULD FEEL THE SOLO LEVELING VIBES IN ME. HE CAN STEAL TALENTS I FUCKING KNEW IT!!! I’m surprised that Neumann didn’t say anything and Haito seems to be aware of it.

Edit: Ah okay, I understand a bit now but it almost seems like Haito is the only one aware of Toya’s second talent.

Edit 2: Okay, as much as I love power hungry MC’s I’m really glad they didn’t make Toya into that. I am such a softie for sympathetic and kind MC’s like these even though it’s been done so many times. I’m really glad this didn’t feel like a rehash. I mean, some points some of the stuff Toya says it does but it’s fine, I don’t mind that. I actually gave a crap about him since I usually prefer the side characters (I UNDERSTAND ANON, I CARE ABOUT KOUU SO MUCH AHHHHH) but HAITO?? AHHHHH.

I like that Izo always has the same hat in every adaptation he’s in lol. Istg, cats are always op. Schrodinger seems so strong and the parallel universes are my absolute shit. Sometimes I think, in one universe I did this and in this universe I’m not. Would I rather stay in this universe or be in the one where I am actually productive. Usually I pick the productive universe and actually work but sometimes I’m a bit of a slacker haha. I think this is my approach to a lot of things in life. But I digress, I don’t wanna get too deep into my life.

I can sorta sympathize with the sinners. At least the ripper guy to say the least. I love love love unhinged characters that just want to basically destroy the world or at least have fun. But then you find out- wait they are actually sympathetic oh no. That’s how I felt about Djoser in “im the great priest imhotep” (please...i beg...someone read this...I’m so starved).

As much as character development and rooting for the hero is cool and all, I just want to simp for the crazy “let’s burn the world to the ground” kinda character. I’m also so glad Toya doesn’t automatically become evil and try and steal everyone’s talents because he does seem like a good person and I really don’t see him suddenly switching fields so when he saved (I don’t remember names I’m sorry), the undead solider it was really nice. Proves that he still has his humanity and isn’t strictly relying on the branch of sin.

It makes sense that he wants to steal talents since he never had one (and it was kinda out of left field when he killed Vlad and we just never addressed that ever again haha) but to see him actually consider his actions and if he actually want’s to steal his teammates talents feels right to me. Poor guy doesn’t seem to have a lot of friends so this is the first time he’s ever seemed to have companionship, aside from Haito, so I really hope he doesn’t attempt to steal their talents. I think I’m thinking of the slime? That time I got reincarnated as a slime manga/anime. Where he’s the pokemon catcher of skills. I thought that was where it was going.

But I do kinda like how selfish Haito and Toya’s talent stealing relationship is (I mean, later it develops but my first draft of writing this I wasn’t there yet). I’m not sure if selfish or like self-gratitude/pride is the right word but it’s kind of a breath of fresh air. Rather than Haito trying to contain or “help” Toya’s inferiority she’s actually encouraging it and using her own talent for her own...acknowledgement? Er, yeah let’s go with that.

This. This interaction. I love this. Like, genuinely love this. We need more of this. Two people from opposite sides finding some common ground and their fight to the death is less about morals or whose on whose side but for themselves. I love that. This is actually some wholesome stuff.

As much as I hate that Hitler is getting drawn as a small child I really like this. I know the whole, oh I killed your friends but I’m letting you go because you express humanity but I’m gonna finish my death with a sympathetic line, can be annoying to people but idk I really liked this.

Honestly this and the undead soldiers death hit me hard ngl. This manga might not have my favourite art style during some points compared to like main stream manga but it has some really beautiful scenes.

THE PONY TAIL NEVER LIES AND HES DA VINCI IT MAKES SENSE NOW

He looks so cute lol. I like that Seiya has the talent of being talented in everything while Toya has the talent to steal other talents. Seiya can probably only cap his power by his own physical/mental abilities with Toya can pull a solo leveling and go further beyond. Thinking of it like jack of trades vs master of none type deals. Though, I might be thinking too hard on this. I like that this man is actually humble but I really wish there was a tiny bit more to him since we only get this one interaction/backstory but the manga isn’t completed yet. I really hope we get to know about Seiya more;; like how he became da vinci or etc.

Everytime I see Neumann I look at that comic sans type and it kills me on the inside. But I love that her eyes are 01 just, mwah perfection. These little details that aren’t that big but it’s soooo nice. I also ahem, unhinged character heart be still. It’s really nice reading manga in bursts because you can see the art progression and damn does she look good.

I didn’t get into it but OKITA ANON I GET IT. KOUU??? AHHHH. WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DIE??? As much as his whole “war” was a bit questionable in the beginning and tbh I still don’t really get it I like that he knows he’s not the same as the other Greats but still tries to help the other “sinners” in a way only he knows. That’s why Seiya was so important;; I get that he wanted them to have a fun death and to be understood but idk, the whole war idea and having them kill each other (especially the Hitler fights because I understand the others since they reached some kind of acknowledgement) but nonetheless, what a great guy.

Nightingale gives me mad masaki vibes from chainsawman. I hate them and I can’t wait for you to fail, but the inner part of my is cheering for you because unhinged characters are my shit. I feel really bad for Neumann, I had suspicions she wasn’t actually like that since it’s sooo out of left field but I’m really glad the manga seems to know what it’s doing. I really wish we got more Kouu interactions with everyone tho.

In conclusion, and I should probably re-read what the characters say and not go off on memory because I’m about to get really deep. I really like how they phrased why they wanted to stop the branch of sin. That there are people just like Toya and Haito who, if they never found the branch of sin, could still probably lead respectable and okay lives. That there was a “them” in another universe that didn’t go down that road and that they want to be in the same universe as “them”. I know this sounds really confusing if you haven’t read the manga but going back to what I said about the parallel universe stuff.

There was a universe where Toya and Haito didn’t rely on the branch of sin, that even without their talents from becoming a returner, they could still live a happy life given their own personalities and attitudes. It was kinda moving since in the beginning, Toya wanted a talent so badly and now that he has one. He’s realizing that wait, I don’t need a past life talent in order to live. Honestly, I hard relate to that because I totally agree with him. If you have a talent you can probably live a very happy and comfortable life that other factors wouldn’t matter if you just have that incredible talent. Thinking of it as a painter or artist, if you had actual god-given talent you wouldn’t need to worry about other factors since people would naturally seek that talent. So you end up comparing yourself to others and setting that limit on yourself.

But that’s okay, it’s completely natural and I’m not saying it’s horrible if you do this. Fuck, I do this all the time. I’m not saying the manga is changing my life but it’s kind of refreshing that it get’s talked about since other adaptations of this just make the character super OP. I understand wanting to have that incredible talent, fuck who doesn’t? but you don’t need it in order to live earnestly in the bigger picture sense. Not everything you do has to be productive and honestly, learning to be okay with having fun is nice. Just being okay with who you are right now, even if it isn’t perfect in your eyes, you still have time to build upon yourself and your own talents but doing it for yourself.

But I probably missed the point and I’m going way to deep haha. But I really enjoyed reading this and thank you once again to okita anon for the recommendation^^ I always love everything you send me and I’ll start reading the next one. If anyone else has any recommendations let me know!

Wkdnewjosne i can get very playful sometimes and tease people,sometimes it does get out of hand tho, i also have a lot of trust issues with friends? on the way home. (Azami X Kumon oneshot)

Summer is almost over and autumn will come soon. There goes the school bell, ringing that it's time to go home. I stood up and picked up my bag and head over to Azami's room to pick him up.

It's been a year since he entered my school, Tsukushi High, and we always head home together. To be honest I was happy that Azami came to my school so I can have a new friend to hang out after school. Sometimes we hang out at my favorite batting place, to the mall to check out new makeup for him and I ending up as his model to test the products. But I don't mind at all, as long he's enjoying himself.

There are times we come home late from spending too much time on our hangouts haha. I smiled as I approach Azami's room and happily greet him,

"AZAMIIII, school's out c'mon let's hang out!" I cheerfully called out as he turned to me frowning as he pick up his things.

"Alright alright no need to shout," he said and head out and I tag along.

"Azami, is there any particular place you wanna hang out today? It's gettin pretty chilly since autumn is comin' up."

"Nah I wanna head home early today, how 'bout you?" he shrugged and yawns.

"Me? Well I wanna go for a little detour but since you said you're going straight home, guess I'll go home as well."

"Well we have time thou, where is that detour you're sayin'?"

"Hehe wanna find out? Follow me." I said teasingly and dash ahead.

"Hey no fair! Get back here!" Azami yelled and dash off as well chasin' me. I laughed and ran like a mad man as I head to the place where I found a new spot for hangin' out.

It's only a few blocks away from school and no one has ever set foot on it so I wanted to show Azami this new spot to hang out. It's an empty field with a perfect spot to watch the sunset.

Finally we arrived at the empty field and I lay down on the ground, catching my breath and I saw Azami's face starin at me from above.

"You're such a dumbass, dashing off like that what if you suddenly faint from exhaustion? You know your health is not that well. You're gonna be heavy as I carry you home." He sighed and lay down as well beside me.

"Well when that happens you're still gonna carry me home right?"

"How about no?"

"EH. You're so mean Azami!" I sat up and glared at him.

"I'm kidding, you're so easy to tease haha." He laughed and sat as well. There it is again, that throbbing feeling in my chest whenever Azami smile or laughs. I wonder if I'm getting sick or something. I just laughed it off and stare at the setting sunset.

"This is a pretty cool spot to relax. When did you find this?"

"Oh. When I was runnin' late last time I passed by here and it was close to the station and no one really comes here so yeah another free space to relax and practice swings! Hehe." I laughed and Azami just looked at me, smiling.

"Well thanks for the new hang out place, maybe if we're gonna skip school let's go here since it's not that far."

"Ah! Skipping school is a no no Azami!"

"Heh, but you go along with me whenever you feel like skipping your class."

"W-Well that's only a one time event! Besides I promised Mom that I'll do well at school so I can stay at the dorms with niichan."

"Haha you really love your family Kumon, I kinda envy you." he said and stares at the sunset.

"Why though? You have Sakyo-san, the Ginsekai and Mankai as your family, also me! You're like a brother to me too, Azami." I said but I know my feelings are not merely a brotherly love. It's something else.

"Well I know that, it's just I don't know how to react back," he muttered.

"But yeah even I can't tell it in words, I can just simply show it with my actions."

"Yeah exactly! You're a good guy Azami that's why I like you so much hehe."

"Huh like?"

"Uh I mean I like you as friend! Ha ha ha..."

"You're such a weirdo sometimes Kumon, but I like that part of you. It's like your charm that people come to like you."

"Really? I'm kinda shy to hear that." I laughed and scratch my head that Azami is complimenting me.

"I'm serious, you're approachable, kind and full of energy. And I think that's really cool."

"Well you're more cooler Azami! Even though you're young, you're dependent, can fight and manly!"

"Pfft. Stop the flattering,"

"Eh~ but I'm serious, I really like those characteristics of yours Azami."

"Well it's look like we admire each other's good sides," We laughed it off and stare again at the setting sunset. Then he turns to me and chuckles,

"What's so funny?" I asked confused that he's suddenly laughing.

"Can I say something weird?"

"Yeah?"

"Well in most situations, normal couples mostly hang out here in an empty field like this to make out, but here we are, two guys chillin as we watch the sunset."

"There's nothing wrong with that though, it's just we're chillin. Couples are not the only ones can hang out in places like these haha."

"Yeah right." He said and lay down again on the grass closing his eyes.

"Hey Azami, I gotta say you're pretty good looking, and I bet you're popular with the girls at school. Is there a type you like?"

"Nah. Girls at school are annoying and noisy. But Kantoku is an exception."

"Do you like Kantoku then?"

"Yeah I like her, but not in an romantic way. I respect her as our Director and nothing else."

"Hmm I see,"

"Looks like you have more something to say, you can ask me anything if you want,"

"Anything?"

"Yeah yeah, since we're chillin' out here and all."

"Then," I paused and took a deep breath and turned to him, completely serious about what to ask.

"Hey Azami, what would you do if a guy confesses to you?" I said and he looked at me shocked and I turned away at him scratching my head. Great, you're the best Kumon, why in the world did you ask that thing? Especially to Azami. As I roast myself when Azami muttered,

"Well, I would feel weird but yeah I'll respect the guy's gut for confessing. And I-I don't know if I would like a guy..." he muttered and started to blush. I don't know if he's blushing or it's just the sunset. But I pressed my thoughts and ask him again,

"Then what would you do if I confessed to you?"

"You confessing to me?"

"Yeah." I said firmly starin into his eyes. I don't know what got into me and why am I sayin' these things.

"Well I'm flattered, that you like me. Ah I mean, why would you confess to me anyway? Are you teasing me again Kumon?"

"Why would I joke at a time like this, I'm serious, I Iike you Azami."

"Huh, what does that mean." he muttered and starts to cover his face. I chuckled and stop him from covering his face as I lean in to him. We're so close that I can feel his breath and can hear his heart beating.

"Well if you don't like it, let's just forget this happened and stay as friends. I don't want our friendship to get awkward and all haha." I smiled bitterly and starts to stand up when Azami stopped me and clutches my sleeve.

"Wait. You didn't heard my answer yet dumbass," he said and I sat down, focused about what he's going to say.

"I, I like you too Kumon. I know it's weird that we're both guys but I really admire the things you have which I don't. And yeah, ugh. You know what I mean," he said and blushes looking down at the ground.

"Haha you're so cute Azami blushing like that, oh then that means we're going out now?"

"Whatever you call it," he muttered and I hugged him so tight, I'm so happy right now coz we feel the same way. I feel I hit a homerun right now.

I smiled and stare into Azami's eyes and about to lean in for a kiss when he stop me.

"Hey just because we're going out doesn't mean we can do those things,"

"Those things?"

"Aw c'mon you know what I mean Kumon,"

"And what is that?" I asked teasingly as I lean in so close that I can just peck his lips.

"Like kissing and stuff... Wait how do guys kiss?"

"Pfft hahaha, you really gonna ask that? I'll show you," I chuckled, leaning in and pecked his lips.

"How do you know these stuffs? You don't look like the type to do these things like kissing, dumbass."

"Well I learn a one or two from Muku's shoujo mangas and there's nothing different except we're both guys haha."

"Whatever let's go home, Shitty Sakyo might yell at me again if we come home late again," he said standing up and starts to walk.

"Ahh Azami! Wait for me! You're so cruel." I pout and followed him.

I held his hand and he held back. We head home with smiles as we gaze into the starry sky as we head home.

He has his fair share of problems, but that would make him all the more understanding. He would at the very least keep you company. Another thing you share is how you’re both idealists. Deep-down, you’re passionate dreamers, people very in tune with their wishes and dreams. What you care about, you care about with a great deal of passion. And only an idealist can see another idealists vision a reality.

Headcannons:

I can imagine that when you guys first meet you both think you’re polar opposites, thinking something along the lines of “like I’d ever get along with this person”.

Yuri at first probably urges you to share your thoughts, it’s how he gets to know people after all, and Yuri does not like not knowing stuff. But unexpectedly, the most surprising thing he’d find out is how similar you guys are.

You both have your guard up most of the time and are always thinking and analyzing everything around you. Yuri wouldn’t know if he should feel happy or sad to find someone as guarded as him, but he can’t deny it’s comforting.

It’s funny that despite coming from almost opposite backgrounds, you who were sheltered and Yuri who was thrown out into the world ended up with very similar values and traits. Is this fate perhaps?😳

Tbh, Yuri loves to tease you, not in a mean-spirited way of course, but just in a playful and lighthearted manner.

I just think he’d find your personality very cute, you’re playful and bubbly, but also curious and eccentric at times. And well, above of all though he likes a person to keep him entertained lol.

Also, Yuri would probably try and be flirtatious with you in some manner, but a lot of comments would probably just go right over your head, which is hilarious. Though this only means that every time he does manage to make you flustered or shy he won’t be able to remove the stupid grin of his face for the entirety of the day.

Yuri is always looking out for you. When you’re about to fall or drop something he quickly grabs you or the object. If you’re distracted or daydreaming he’ll gently nudge you to bring you back to reality. Just small things like that.

Both super inquisitive about anything, Balthus would probably rack his brain around you guys. Because of this though Yuri likes having you around when he needs to think about things, and asks for your input.

If there is anyone Yuri knows to not break their trust, it’s you. He has done it with his friends before, but with you, he knows it’s too much of a gamble, and it’s not worth it. That would only leave him with having to be as open and honest with you as possible, which admittedly he could find pretty annoying at first, because of how distrusting he is. He’d quickly find out how freeing and liberating it is, to let your guard down and be yourself. No more secrets, no more shields, no more worries and fears, just Yuri. And maybe through him, you’d also find the courage to be and express yourself.

Ooh I remember when I signed up on tumbrl and I was really excited with the idea people were able to ask me questions here, heheh And now I have my questions piled up, oh my! I feel shame of myself! *blushes and hides her face under her hands * So that's why I'm trying to catch up with the questions people have given me.

This one made me laugh a lot and blush a lot at the same time! HEHEHEH! Mostly because when you said “swear words" I imagined me saying such words and being red like a tomato while doing it! XD

Why would you want to know swear words in French in the first place?

In general it’s something people asks me very otfen when I tell them I know french, it’s pretty hilarious and intriguing.

Specially, your question it’s so funny, because when I starting learning french I thought I absolutely didn’t wanted to learn french swear words and I was avoiding them like the plague! I avoided the sites I thought might contain them so I couldn’t find them. Bu I never thought youtube could have them. I watched videos of my favorite cartoons in french on youtube to practice my hearing, and the videos didn’t had them, so I thought I was safe....but the comments people made had swear words in them sometimes, cos teen french used them for everything! O_O like if they were common words like “ok” or “hey”.

Then I tried to leave youtube and other sites, and stay just on deviantart and comment some french artists pieces to practice my writting, but many teenager native french on deviantart talked like that was well. They literally cound’t start a phrase without a swear word on it! XD

So at the end I ended up accepting that was part of french culture, wether I liked or and I coudn’t escape of that heheh

And I chilled up a bit. Mostly because I realized the French tend to be pretty open about them. They don’t see them as shocking words or to offend someone, they use them more like a wildcard for their phrases, specially young ones.

That said, I still don’t like swear words and I’m still not in favor of teaching people this kind of stuff because I think it’s not really useful. But I encourage the curiosity of learning another language, and I like people being inquisitive, so lets see what I can do.

If you google for “swear words in french” you’ll find a lot. So I think it will be a lot cooler to know stuff you don’t learn in books nor in the web, but in real life talking ( or writting moslty in my case, although I have had the chance to talk too) with other french! Like how you can use swear words in an elegant way, or using euphemisms. So you can use them without anybody gasping and being schocked at it.

I will start with the softest ones and gradually go to some that are stronger. well, as much as being an artists who works on family entertaintment field lets me at least *chuckles*

Sacrebleu!

This one means “ sacred blue” and it comes from the time on 19 century when people referred to Mary’s bue dress, and used it as an exclamation expression. And people considered it a swear word because they believed saying that was taking her name in vain. This one probably you have heard it already a lot of times on french themed movies or shows. And it really isn’t a swear word on nowadays. It could be an equivalent of “darn” in english.

It’s an outdated one though. No french says it since a pretty good time. But I think it’s a very cool and funny one, it sounds cool! So I couldn’t help including it here hehe

I think it would be great if people in nowadays would want to say it!

Nom d’un chien!

It comes from "Nom de dieu” which in the 19 century was considered a swear word, because people had the belief to mention God’s name on an exclamation phrase was a bad thing because they were “taking God’s name in vain”. Also, some people use “chien” to refer to the word in french for S***.

Still in use, but mostly by elderly people.

Flûte!

This one means literally “flute”, the instrument. But I love it because it’s so hilarious how if well used, it can become an exclamation expression with F word because it resembles very much to the F word in french. And it’s ok to say it on rated G material! As I’ve seen on french comic books and movies. So you can actually use it on your rated G work, and it sounds more like what a genuine french would say than “sacrebleu“.

Still in use by all french, but specially middle aged and mature people.

Diantre

Means “dammit”, and it’s used very often, specially by mature aged people, as an exclamacion expression of surprise or anger. Like: “Damn! I forgot my car’s keys!” “Diantre! J'ai oublié mes clés de voiture!”

Not very used by the younger ones though, but it’s a cool one! I think people should use it more!

Bordel

A mess.This word literally means bordello or brothel, and is used in that sense as well.

“Bordel” is one of my favorite french words despite being considered a swear word, because it’s not much an offensive word like other swear words. Its more like a word most commonly used in exclamation expressions like “Like oh ****! That movie was incredible!!” “Oh bordel! Ce film à ete incroyable!”

Or talking about something being messy or sloppy, like “my table was really a mess after cooking”, "Ma table etait un vrai bordel après avoir cuisiné”.

You can also use this one as an expression of rage to someone, like “****! why did you beat up my brother?! “Bordel!

There are also some other words that are used with the purpose of being offensive. Like for example:

Dégage !

Get out of my way! /**** off! The verb dégager used to suggest movement – especially that of expulsing something – in non-obscene contexts, as well. As a swear word, it actually really depends on the way a person uses it. It would never be polite to say to someone if you want them to get out of your way, but it can range from “Move!” or “Get out of my way!” to “Fuck off!” depending on how angry/frustrated the speaker is.

Dégueulasse (sometimes shortened to “Dégueu”).

Disgusting/repugnant. This can refer to a thing, a person, an action, a situation, etc. It’s used all the time, especially on reality TV and by teens across France, and is only moderately obscene. Still, when in polite company, use its perfectly above-board sibling, dégoûtant(e), instead. I say this from experience.

Ta gueule

Shut the ****/hell up! This expression comes from the phrase “Ferme ta gueule“, that means literally “shut up your snout”, but it’s so frequently used that just the last two words are necessary now.

Like some of the other words on this list, this one’s power seems to vary depending on the context and, especially, the tone of the speaker. It’s often used in French comedies when a person is getting angry or upset – and in those cases, where it doesn’t seem particularly violent or full of loathing, it could be best translated as “Shut the hell up!” or even simply “Shut up!”.

On the other hand, if the person saying it is doing so in an aggressive way, it could probably be better translated as “Shut the fuck up!”

Se taire

Means “Shut up!” Like its English counterpart, this isn’t so much obscene, as impolite. “Tais-toi” is the most common form.

Chier

Means to defecate, but in a vulgar way, so it’s the equivalent of the word S*** in english. Even if this one IS a strong swear word, I added it here because it's use in french it’s very interesting and fascinating to me . It’s a word that isn’t only be used as an insult, but it also can be used to express when something or someone it’s annoying, or just plain boring.

“Faire chier" A wonderful, versatile expression that ultimately shows annoyance. If used reflexively (most commonly Je me fais chier) it means to be fucking bored or annoyed.

Faire chier, is also a common expression that means to “piss off someone” to make someone mad.This comment I found from someone who traveled to paris was very interesting:

“This is an expression I heard a lot last time I went to Paris. Every time a train was cancelled, I could hear lots of “ils font vraiment chier !”

À chier

s***ty/garbage. Le film était à chier. The movie was s***ty.

Chiant(e)

Bloody annoying.

This can be used to describe a living being; Je ne veux pas voir Sandra et son chien – ils sont chiants tous les deux ! I don’t want to see Sandra and her dog – they’re both bloody annoying !

Or a situation

Sa mère lui a dit qu’il doit assister au repas familial au lieu de venir au bar avec nous vendredi soir ? C’est chiant.

His mom told him he has to have dinner with his family instead of going out to the bar with us on Friday night? That’s bloody annoying.

There are a lot of others, but I think those ones are out of my budget *chuckles* Also, they’re a lot! XD So maybe, if you wanna know more about this subjet you can drop me a message :)

In the other hand, I don’t blame you for wanting to know swear words in french, cos it’s true all words sound so beautiful and elegant in french, even the most vulgar and obscene ones XD That’s something I adore from French language and always amazes me!

Personally, I’m super intrigued by the concept of MBTI too. Even though I know a lot of factors of the test could be misconceived or put in a perspective of your “ideal” sense of self, I still like how it can be somewhat accurate if one answers categories honestly!

Rambling aside, I already knew a lot about the MBTI types and looked to some of the more popular HQ characters as reference. I analyzed each of the characters’ personality from the anime and parts of the manga to decide which of the 16 types fit them. Then, it was a long process to write them all down and assign a few characters I see fit to match. I even had to get second opinions from my friend who also watches the series. It seems fairly simple, but it’s not really ;w;

— (Just a small disclaimer: I couldn’t analyze all the characters. I know there could be better matches, but I gave up after two hours and used the more relevant characters in the series)

INTJ - Hinata brings out the qualities and emotions INTJs have but don’t usually express. His nature allows the other to develop even just by being around them. They make a good pair because of INTJ’s trust and Hinata’s loyalty. Though his energy may seem draining, I think this pair will work well together in the long run.

ISTJ - Tanaka’s goals align with the ISTJ mindset with romantic relationships. I think ISTJ’s have a fairly traditional mindset. They’re super devoted lovers and that’s exactly what Tanaka needs. I think he can be just a little bit insecure sometimes and that all works out with a reliable ISTJ partner.

INTP - Actually meeting an INTP is difficult, but Oikawa’s interesting personality makes it easy to bring them out of their shell. Because INTP needs aren’t that complex, they don’t mind Oikawa’s busy schedule. One thing that may make this relationship difficult is that they need to recognize Oikawa’s need for intimacy.

ENFJ - ENFJs are always so eager to please their partners, but they tend to skip out on their own needs. The trustworthy and loyal Sugawara would make sure that his partner also gets their fair share in affection. I just think Suga would be super cute in a relationship with an ENFJ hehe

INFJ - Kuroo is the type of person who loves to analyze people, and unfortunately for him INFJs tend to be closed off. He’s attracted to how committed INFJs are to achieve goals. Together, they’d have a good support system.

ESTJ - Communication is key in every relationship and to ESTJs, it’s the most important part of how they choose their partners. Yamaguchi is observant, so along with the ESTJ direct personality, it just goes fluidly together.

ESTP - ESTPs are the type of people who can get easily bored and aren’t afraid to drop a potential lost lasting relationship. Yaku’s temper honestly can clash with an ESTP ideal at first but his integrity attracts them.

INFP - Terushima is the type of person who needs someone to help him settle down. INFP are indifferent toward him at first, but will still find ways to understand him. This pair definitely is that basic shoujo manga pair: popular guy x shy protagonist

ENFP - I kind of debate on this myself because Akaashi himself is either INTJ or ISTJ which makes a big difference on whether or not he is compatible with ENFP. I just think they have a good balance, but I could be wrong. I’m very 50/50 now I think more about it. Maybe Tsukishima would be a better fit? He was a close second when I was writing the original post.

ESFJ - ESFJs are very needy people and constantly want attention from their s/o. Asahi is also quite the traditional thinker, and would give his everything to developing a relationship with an ESFJ. It’ll be an adorable and affectionate pair.

ISFJ - Bokuto is sociable and likes to take risks, whereas the ISFJ type is the total opposite. However, they do share the S (sensing) & F (seeling) qualities that bring them together. ISFJs are caring and protective partners, always observing situations. They can act as a guide to help settle Bokuto’s recklessness.

ISFP - Ushijima can be blunt, but he surely does everything with good intentions. An ISFP may often find themselves lost in the moment, but Ushijima is the perfect rock to latch themselves on to. Their expressive tendency is pleasantly well-received.

ENTP - ENTPs just really loves to speak their mind. They question everything because they’re constantly just analyzing. Tsukishima may find this aspect annoying at first, but he’d understand that everything ENTP says is for self-development. Tsukishima values honesty and enjoys how direct they are.

ENTJ - We’ve seen how Ennoshita “ran away” when things got complicated, but we’ve also seem how he’s grown as an individual. ENTJs are confident and goal-driven, which Ennoshita admires. Above all, his patience with them will prevail in the relationship, and ENTJ will appreciate it a lot.

ESFP - At first, I don’t think an ESFP would even look twice at Kageyama as a potential lover. They’d keep him close as a friend and them come to realize how compatible they are. ESFPs care a lot about their partner- Kageyama may be a total blockhead, but he’d do anything to please his lover.

ISTP - ISTPs can be emotionally unavailable at times which can be a problem to most of their relationships. Though he may be confused, talking it out really helps. Sawamura grants the space they need and don’t tend to dwell on the reason why. That’s because he probably already knows why with his observant disposition.

How does poor web design affect if and/or how you read a particular webcomic?

it's a huge factor. if a comic is amazing in every way but the website or app makes it difficult for me to read i'm simply NOT going to read it. there are a lot of great series that i've put on the back burner just because the website is so annoying to navigate

FYI the worst comic app i've ever experienced is Aqua Kiss which I downloaded to read a single series. it's the most barebones app imaginable with no search bar. if you want to read something you actually have to manually load each calendar week to find it and some stuff are buried dozens of pages back. and to make matters worse it doesn't have a "history" or "bookmarks" feature either

The worst things with sites that I see often are 1: huge headers, and 2: laggy sites (not really site design, but its adjacent I think) Another is if the pages are too big on the screen, so you can't, for instance, see some panels all at once. Those kinds of things can really ruin a reading experience for me

One example of a website that is hostile to the reading experience is ZMYK which for some reason hosts vertical scroll comics but cuts them up into little pieces as if they were comic format so you can't actually scroll through the entire chapter as it was intended to

That kind of thing grinds my gears so much how can something you have to pay for be that incredibly bad

I've also seen some sites that have graphic design issues, where elements are illegible due to their color, and some have very busy and distracting backgrounds. Those kinds of things won't necessarily ruin it, but they're distracting

forward comic's website was doing this weird thing where the further I read the longer pages took to load. Near the end it seemed they were taking 10 full seconds. Still read the whole thing though. Reading manga on shady sites with terrible internet connection as a kid has desensitized me

Oh one comic I was interested in but didn't read because of the site: I was kidnapped by lesbian pirates from outer space. It doesn't have a website. To read it you have to pirate (hehe) copies of the archive.

It's a pretty sad story- the author was young and tricked into giving up the rights to her series

She ended up taking the site down to prevent the company from getting any more money off of it

For me, the biggest thing that deters me from reading a comic is if the website isn't well optimized for mobile (as someone who reads a lot on the go). This includes the images loading bigger than the page, or navigation being hidden on mobile, or glitchy scrolling, or any number of ungodly things. Also, too many ads. That'll turn me away in a heartbeat.

it's a shame because there are genuinely good comics on there you can't read anywhere else?? and i found it because an artist i adore did a series for it but it got AXED after only 2 chapters and after that was pretty much scrubbed from the internet. i think it's a shame because it really had so much potential and it ended before the story was really able to start

it's a screenshot from the app. you can see that it is categorized reverse chronologically by week

the point of aqua kiss is to emulate monthly/weekly style manga magazines but in app form. however i think the execution of this idea was horrendous

Oh no! It must make reading there so challenging. As for me, if the navigation is so hard to understand/pages don't load properly when you click a link or when the website's colours hurt my eyes so much I can't stay there for too long.

Honestly nowadays most of the CMS's out there share the same basic functionality and adaptability, so it's getting harder to screw up on that. Most sites are OK, if only a bit laggy. If the site takes less than 2 seconds to load and it's not so crowded that I have to look for the comic, I'm generally good.

How much bad/inaccessible web design I'll tolerate is directly proportional to how much I care about the comic.

I've dropped a couple series in the middle of the archive just because they changed the site design to screw up the tracking of bookmarking sites, so I would've had to figure out an alternate way to keep track of it, and it didn't seem worth the effort

Oh yeah, I've totally had that happen too where I was deep into an archive, had taken a reading break for a month or two, and came back to find the urls had been updated and my spot was lost it isn't so bad if a comic also has an archive page, but ive stopped reading a few stories that it would have been too hard to track down where I was.

I haven’t had to experience weird websites in a while, but I do sometimes go to an unknown website to read the comic/manga I’m looking for. Mostly what I’ve had trouble with is unnumbered chapters, of that it’s unclear where/how to start reading in general.(edited)

Like, I get to the page for that specific comic and then there’s no easy “start reading here” button anywhere

And when I do find the chapters list, I don’t know which end of the list is the beginning bc it’s unnumbered

Well when I first go on the site, I just want to start reading so idk

So, I always try to read every comic that's featured in the book club all the way through. Like even if I don't particularly like the opening, or if the comic is thousands of pages long, or I don't have time to meaningfully discuss the comic, I do try to at least give the comic a fair shake by reading through the entire archive. There have been four exceptions. One was because of content (it was a gag a day comic, and the content was SO horrible for SO long that I just couldn't stand it anymore. real "punching down" type of humor). Another was because the comic was literally deleted before I could get to it. The remaining two were because the site design/organization were so awful that the comics were unreadable. One of the two comics had a custom built, hand-coded site (I assume), and it just... didn't work properly. Like the "previous" button seemingly took you to a random page, the "next" button and the "latest" button led to the same place, etc. I'm not sure the creator ever bothered to test the site. The other one used some pre-built stuff, so it was ok... but you had to scroll to the top of the page to go to the next page. Not only that, but the author was posting all their comics to the same archive - which means one page would be the comic that was actually meant to be read for the book club and the next few pages were a completely different comic entirely. And this wasn't a gag-a-day either - it was a story based comic, so the three action minimum to get to the next page made things absolute hell to keep track of.(edited)

Not really a design but a site thing: I can't do comics without an archive of some sort. On platforms like Tapas or WT, the episode list serves that purpose perfectly fine. I personally need to be able to see how many pages there are, and I need a way to go to specific pages easily. It might sound like a small complaint, but it's a big thing for me! There have been comics that piqued my interest, but once I saw that there was no archive of any form, I left forever. Sure, I might be missing out, but there are also lots of good comics out there that have accessible archives. My life isn't long enough to read them all, so I'm letting myself be very picky.

I can manage a very basic site just fine. But if a site is hard to navigate, or just makes reading the page/getting to the next page difficult - I'd be likely to give up eventually. Doesn't matter about the quality of the comic, but if it's a chore to just read it, it's going to put me off after a while

For example - when I read webcomics on dA, I was absolutely fine with either the author having a dedicated folder with the pages in order. Another option was to link next and prev pages in the description. But if I had to go find each next page, I just wouldn't.

the comic that alternated storylines & required scrolling back up to go to the next page was Antibunny: http://vinnied.comicgenesis.com/d/20061002.html if you see that page I linked and click next a few times, there's no obvious distinction between the main story and the spinoff story (no, like, header change between the two, and the art style looks similar), so you can see how it'd be confusing to follow and the scrolling is just icing on the cake (it used to be even worse) the only reason I feel comfortable sharing that is because the author uploaded the comics to new sites, and fixed all those issues in the process: http://antibunny.net/

I def like arrows on the top and bottom of pages for sites to be more of a thing, as well as clicking the image for the next page too! Honestly there hasn't been a make or break, mainly preferences, and the most complaints i have are with the mobile formatting. I think most comics have been pretty solid in functionality that i've read, and it's clear that having their own website is becoming mainstream enough for there to be help, tips, and tricks to making it work!

mm archives were mentioned already, and how it can really turn readers away to simply not have one at all? my favorite archive is https://www.vaingloriouscomic.com/comic/archive 's but i've seen some where they attempted an all picture archive and it backfired by just being a page of all empty boxes. this didn't deter me from reading it and it got fixed pretty quick tho~ mine is one of these and its a very chonky slowmoving page cause i uploaded the first 90ish as fullsized pictures. nobody's ever complained so idk if it's ever deterred anyone from reading but i know i gotta fix it someday.(edited)

I would say poor web design is something I have a complicated relationship regarding webcomics. On the one hand, outside of a site being 100% completely broken, I'm willing to sit through a lot to read. So in terms of affecting whether I read a comic the first time or not, there isn't much to say there. But it does affect how engaged I am with the comic. Cause if I can't easily go back to re-read a page, easily find things like character names, have to deal with extreme lag cause the host is garbage, have to deal with eye bleeding color schemes, etc. you can bet your bottom dollar 1 time is all that comic is going to get in terms of reading it. I can only subject myself to so much, and if I don't feel like reading a comic again because of the site itself, I'm going to quickly forget it in favor of comics whose sites don't make me cry. I do give more leeway to sites created by creators in many respects. But professional bigtime hosts like Tapas or Webtoons literally have no excuse for some of their garbage design choices. And some of their design choices are super duper garbage.

At the same time, though, I know from first hand experience that poor design choices are literally influenced by user data for bigger companies. So for every decision I consider stupid- at the same time they probably did the AB tests that showed crappy design A had better results for their conversion rates than user friendly design B.

Rebel mentioned sites that have eyebleedy color schemes and I'm in the same boat; will read the comic, just will be turning down the screen brightness a looot. Sites that have a huge space of extremely neon background that distracts from the comic make me reluctant to read on the site, and I'll look for a mirror before trying. That white background of the 2 big comic hosting sites can at least be affected and turned dark by nightmode when needed, while nightmode doesn't work on half the bright comic sites I've tried it on. u-u

oh yayyyyyy! there it goes! fair warning, i’ve written it upon my first / second listen as i do w all my reviews, bc i feel like that way it manages to include a first impression kind of vibe without it being superficial. i’ve reread and i agree w myself (hehe) and i’ve lifted a few grades bc i’ve been feeling some stuff more lately, but yeah, this was not written now so. just to clarify.

golden: okayyyyy i wasn’t expecting for his voice to sound like this!! like, low and raspy? it sounds more intimate this way, i think? as for the sound, it’s kind of funky and think as an opener, this song really represents the sound he chose for this album… i could be wrong tho, let’s see how it goes on. slightly repetitive but the voice won me over and overall, i really like it.

fave lyrics: i’m out of my head and i know that you’re scared because i’m so open.

adore you: this is my fave out of the singles! it’s just boppy and cute, a feel good song. it doesn’t amaze me but i wouldn’t mind listening to it often bc it’s just a happy song and it’s sooo catchy, it’s the only single that truly got stuck in my head. it does sound like a zayn song – like, a lot – in some parts, which isn’t bad per se just… unexpected i guess?

cherry: oh??? i almost didn’t recognise him, there’s a reverberation in the voice or something? i’m no expert so i’m sorry if i’m bullshitting, i’m just trying to describe what i hear. i feel like i like the music more than i like the words (not the words per se, although the songwriting is kind of childish here, tbh, but more like the delivery). i don’t like this… it’s boring and whiny. (also the ‘coucou’ as a background sound kind of irks me) but it’s a good song, maybe just not memorable or not my personal fave. the ending audio doesn’t make much sense to me bc it’s not something you say in like a voicemail, it’s something that requires a response like, as if he’d recorded a conversation and removed his own voice? or just kind of staged? but i like how the final word fades into music.

(i want you / she’s so heavy?? it reminds me of the lacrosse the universe version also). and i feel like pink floyd for something in the sound, but the whole thing like voice + sound is more beatles, the descriptive side to it… it reminds me of eleanor rigby like… the way the song makes me feel, kind of anxious in a way that’s not necessarily bad? it just makes me feel things. flexing w that instrumental!!!!! wow. i mean this is my jam, i also love the lyrics so it’s a big big yes from me, although i mean, not groundbreaking as in – it’s been done a lot over the 60s and 70s especially… which is why it’s not a ten, but still, great song.

sunflower, vol. 6: cute!!! the lyrics, the sound, the light falsetto part, the funkish beat! oooh and there’s some funky instrument that i’m too ignorant to define, but nice! maybe for my taste it’s kind of messy, i guess in a good way but also in a way that it’s not something i want to listen to a lot, i think? the hooting and howling in the end… interesting… not really my thing and the beatles did it in the 60s but like… cute.

canyon moon: this sounds too much like italian masterpiece ‘acqua azzurra, acqua chiara’ for me to take it completely seriously, but per se it’s quite nice to listen to, it feels almost country? i swear every time the guitar comes in i kinda lose it bc it’s just… sooo much alike, so i’m sorry i can’t really say more about it. cool lyrics and it’s a nice song!

treat people with kindness: ok this is……… i’m sorry but i’m cringing a bit (a lot). when he comes in it’s not bad, it’s just… the idea of making a song out of a slogan is not genius, to me, like, it’s bound to sound weird and inorganic i think?? i’m sorry, i’m trying to like it but i can’t, like there’s some nice screaming (all together now, just a little bit of kindness) and the gospel chorus per se is amazing but i can’t unhear the lyrics and overall it sounds a bit messy.

fine line: i feel like this is a very fine (hehe) stylistic excercise, again, kind of psychedelic, lots going on w the music, lots of falsetto and some powerful lyrics, but somehow i get distracted while listening to it… kind of (very) boring? especially w how long it is, i guess it aims to make a statement but if so idk, i expected some powerful change throughout? a bridge or something? the mind wanders as you listen to it, one of my least faves for sure.
