I saw her sitting at the café where she was doodling in her notebook. The sun began setting, showering her in the light of golden hour. I tried to focus on my work but her beauty entranced me. Her every movement graceful, her face that of a goddess, the lines on her page a masterpiece. Her eyes were vibrant with life and passion, they glittered in the light of the sunset. She picked up her phone and took a silly selfie, but the glory of her remained aphrodisian. No expression or movement or angle diminished her radiance. She simply was. And that was the most beautiful thing she could be.

I don’t know what to do with this. You left and won’t even try anymore and I get it, believe me, I do. I got it when you said you couldn’t make space to anyone else right now. I couldn’t do it either if I were you.

But I think about you every fucking day and I don’t know how to make it go away. I have your fucking jacket tattooed on my head, your jeans, your body, the way you focused on the computer at mornings, how the last day everything felt different. I was so sad. The city was so grey it made things worst as I was walking back home.

I’m so sorry I’ve fallen in love with you. The stupid smile on my face even now, remembering our first date, those blue eyes and Taylor Swift in my head every time you looked at me. And here I am thinking bout what are you doing there now. Thinking I want you to be happy. To find someone. Your life to be easy so you can breathe and let go. Your dreams to be a reality even if it’s not with me. I’ve forgotten how you smell but still can remember your voice, how your whole face smiled every time you saw me (and how that made me feel). How good it was when it was just you and me, the hours talking and the fact that I’ve never seen you dance. We should have gone that Saturday but we were so sleepy. I recently read that when you’re tired around your loved one it is because you’re releasing oxytocin, which promotes sleep and can make you feel drowsy. With you, I felt like in a cruise.

Can we go back to this for a sec? To Aziraphale having to explain the concept of being in love to the other angels? Because I cannot imagine what a trip it has to be, falling in love with someone when that is literally not something you are supposed to be able to do. When it is something you barely understand. When the object of whatever this is isn't supposed to be able to feel this way either, except as time goes on you start to realize it's happening to him too. And neither of you can actually talk to each other about it.
