Nuclear fusion is very cheap and effective for generating power, however due to the nature of the current and the potent magnetic fields can only be used to power toasters currently.

Fun Facts. 100% verified.
Despite his powerful message of self-denial and obedience, Ralph Waldo Emerson would routinely steal boxes of salt-water taffy.
Gerald Ford kept a domesticated ferret, "Wolfy", in the oval office.
Film legend Vivian Leigh's last screen appearance was playing a proper British lady stranded at the train station in a 1965 episode of Petticoat Junction.
Although he claimed it was "plenty scary", Steven King would never publish his novel about a demonically possessed toaster, Joe the Toaster.
Emma Bunton (The Spice Girls' "Baby Spice") was the direct inspiration for Christina Aguilera's hit Beautiful.
The San Diego Padres mascot, the Swingin' Friar, with Siesta Key star Kelsey Owens.

"Our toaster is also confused. It doesn't know why we put bagels in it."
Maybe my favorite Tina Belcher quote. Maybe the best thing anyone has ever said.

I just realized for the past idunno how many years I've had a persona for Toasters just...
in my head.
but never drew it.
That's not even mentioning my evil clone! Or my son! Easybake oven! Those are just inside jokes from a discord server and I'm just now realizing it.
I gotta start drawing!

I see how well Inside Out 2 is doing at the box office and that’s great for Pixar! (Especially as how their three previous releases were unceremoniously dumped onto Disney+ and didn’t get the theatrical attention they deserved.) And then I look at Iger’s recent statements about doubling down on “known” IP, with more sequels more often and how there will be no new ‘whole cloth’ attractions in the park. Or his statements that effectively indicated that all going forward will have to/will be based on something already known to the public from Disney’s IP vault. That is… not great. It’s a direction that has me both worried and supremely disappointed.
Because I think it is so completely wrongheaded.
Because to make a successful sequel to something like Inside Out, you first need/needed to create, from whole cloth, Inside Out!
Or a Toy Story. Or Zootopia. Or Frozen. Or Star Wars back in ’77. Or anything like that.
They were all new shit at one time! And some (many?) of them were even “out of the ordinary” in terms of their story or presentation – they were not ‘safe bet’ material. They were treading into territories unknown.
Heck, Snow White was considered revolutionary as the first full length animated feature film when it was released. Disneyland itself was a gamble too! The very foundation of the company (slash brand, as slimy as that word brand can be) was one of new, whole cloth, risky undertaking.
You can’t create beloved stories and characters and even franchises (another slimy word) without first creating them.
You can’t mine (slimy word number three) IP without first making the IP out of “nothing”.
I will forever quote/paraphrase Abigail Disney on this:
“Look, I’m sorry that you got into a job [or, I will add here, bought the stock of a company] in the creative arts, which involves risk. But that’s the creative process. If you wanted something without risk, you should have gotten into toasters.”
I am a Disney shareholder, and I bought in fully well knowing that the creative process has risks. That is exactly why I bought in.
Storytelling is important. Art is important. Expression is important.
I want that kind of force in the world.
Not forced regurgitation.
(And to be clear, I am not against attractions in the park being based on IP (hell, I’m excited to ride the Tron coaster sometime!) nor am I against sequels per se – when they come from a place of storytelling and art (rather than forced capitalization and money motives) they can be equally moving and exciting and as beautiful as the original. They can expand and continue the story in amazing ways. They can even create new things, even though they’re a sequel! So that’s not what I’m concerned or railing against. It’s exactly the bit about forced regurgitation, the drive to avoid art at all costs in order to try and capture a ‘sure thing’ to better squeeze every last dime out into the pockets of investors. Which let’s also be clear and point out that the castmembers and artists who make the things don’t benefit under this model, for they too are being squeezed purely for investors and the C-suite’s benefit.)
