Note(s) : I'm still learning how to write about his character, so criticisms are appreciated.

If we're talking Lin Kuei, Tomas is probably the best option for a mentor because he's not as strict and, uh, scary as Bi-Han, and even less serious than Kuai Liang, although that's not hard because he's so responsible.

But, that doesn't mean he'll let you slack off.

Tomas has a schedule, which includes waking up extremely early, most likely 6 AM, getting dressed and having breakfast in the span of a few minutes, you're expected to be at training for at least 7 AM. Then you train until lunch, around 1 PM, which lasts until 2 PM and then you train until dinner, around 6PM.

He expects you, and everybody else who trains under him, to follow that schedule. He can accept a few excuses, injuries making it harder to get dressed, mental issues, maybe you were just really hungry and accidentally spent too long eating, whatever the case, he lets you off with a warning most of the time.

But if it becomes repeated behaviour you're going through more gruelling training for a week, only Bi-Han at that point can get you out of it, and everybody knows he won't.

He retains a friendly and casual relationship outside of your training, inviting you with his brothers to dinner, which is usually less than once a month. They're usually at Madame Bo's or another tea house, and he's usually the one paying.

You both talk while he trains you, mostly about other Lin Kuei members and their performance / behaviours. Smoke won't trash talk, but he will sometimes indulge in gossip. 'Did you hear about the new recruit who tried to fight Bi-Han?' 'They did what?!'

Even when you're fighting with more seriousness, he's still cracking a friendly joke here and there. Probably something about ice, fire, or smoke.

Speaking of, if you don't like puns about smoke, don't even talk to this guy. He somehow knows every pun in existence that even slightly relates to it, Bi-Han and Kuai Liang are so tired of them they both just leave whenever he starts with one.

He adores if you match his energy, you two bounce back with constant puns that you forget training and leave Bi-Han to scold you two.

Tomas already has a strained relationship with Bi-Han, the man doesn't view him as a brother, let alone squeal, even though that's all Smoke wants from him. He doesn't mean to burden you with his issues, but sometimes he might ask 'Do you think I'm deserving of being a Lin Kuei?'

He won't stop being friends with you if Bi-Han doesn't like you, but maybe he will if Kuai doesn't, he looks up to Scorpion and views him as a major influence in life. But, the likelihood of Kuai ever actually telling him he doesn't like you is low, so, you're all good.

Given how the Lin Kuei works, I think you'd also have to train under his brothers or others in the clan once and a while, but mainly under him. He probably has other students to train, and so he's not always free for casual talk or sparring because he has others to mentor.

I'd say, for a guess, he most likely gets at least a day off, if not, breakfast, lunch and dinner is probably a time where he's free to at least go to a restaurant for food with you.

Shirai Ryu Tomas is different. While before he had maybe one day off, now he's always free because of how there's almost no recruits, only Hanzo and a few other kids who didn't have a good situation before the clan formed.

You'd most likely help the younger ones, and maybe have an 'assistant' role when teaching, the training is fairly lighter because they're just kids, but any adults or teens will have the same training as you, with a tighter schedule that you have to help maintain.

He has more free time to just... Hang around basically, he's always inviting you to have food with Kuai or his friends, like Johnny, Syzoth and most other members of the Kast, he's a big fan of helping you out with tasks.

Tomas will enjoy cleaning, for example, he expects you to help him obviously, especially if it's your room or armour he's helping clean. But, he enjoys it because it's productive and he gets to spend time with you.

Smoke also loves when you do things like that for him! Especially cooking, he's not... The best at it, so he appreciates when you make food after a long day of training and doing small missions for Liu Kang.

He doesn't touch the kitchen. Don't make him go near it.

He might try and teach you Czech or Chinese, if you don't know either already, this totally isn't just so when you're in crowded areas you can talk to each other without people listening, what are you talking about?

Although, it took him years to learn Chinese, so he understands if you find it too difficult and don't want to learn, that won't stop him from muttering words under his breath when he's annoyed.

He's not the biggest fan of hugs, don't get me wrong, he absolutely will if you ask him or he needs it, but he doesn't think he's ever been hugged since he was a kid, so it's just a bit unfamiliar.

Smoke likes holding your hand though, not only will you not get lost in crowds, but you can have friendly contact without it being too much for either of you.

when your shining eyes meet with his, you recognize him immediately, the brother of grandmaster - kuai liang, one of your mentors.

nodding, you try to speak, “I am sorry -“ it was the first thing coming into your mind - I am sorry that I couldn’t fight stronger - be better.

the response coming from him isn’t what you expected yet it helps you to calm down, “no need to say that. just let’s get you out of here,” he adds, pointing something on your shoulder, “you are wounded.”

his remark makes you look down at the wound that stopped bleeding - the pain slowly appearing and making you hiss.

waiting no more, for an answer, he picks you up slowly and gently, looking at your surprised face from the corner of his eyes as he begins to walk. the rain pouring over his body to yours, but you don’t care about it anymore when you feel his warmness hugging you, giving a kind of protection and peace that your eyes nearly close at the moment- however, his voice takes you into reality once more, making you realize how tight he is holding you as if he lets go, it will be doom.

the proximity is enough to create a hot atmosphere along with his warmth. never imagined scorpion of all people would take care of you like this yet here you are, in his arms, going to somewhere you don’t need to ask about because you know he’s taking you to a safe place.

“try to take a bit of rest, but don’t fall asleep,” he sounds concerned, looking down at your face for a moment, “your wound needs to be healed. once we find a safer place, we will take care of it. now, just rest, okay?”

nodding, you close your eyes, putting your head onto his shoulder. in the rest of the way you rest on his shoulder as he carries you. no fear, not anymore, not when you have him, you listen to his heartbeats up close, a source of peace, and a healer to your wound which he takes care of as he promised once you reach a safe area.

he’s so gentle with you that you begin to cry when he cleans, fixes, and heals the wound with full care. it makes him go confused - holding you by the chin, he makes you look at him - a smile full of understanding is replaced on his attractive face, “don’t worry. you will be okay.”

you know it’s not the truth because how can you? you have no home in lin kuei, not after everything you’ve been through.

kuai liang gets it though, no need for words from your lips to understand the fear you have. so, he spends the next few hours thinking about how he can propose you join him as he waits for you to take some sleep. deep down, he knows he can’t let you go, not anymore because he has seen something in your eyes that makes the man find a different source of warmness contrary to the one he has naturally.

the next thing he knows kneeling before you as you sit down on the edge of the bed, caressing your hands with the tips of his fingers, smiling widely, and ensuring as he asks, “will you come with me? I know it’s a sudden and odd question but you can join me, in shirai ryu. I promise you will find peace and the power you seek in there.”

you only ask whether he will be on your side or not, and kuai chuckles at that, the relief flows into him.

he promises you that he will be on your side as long as you want him to be, and with that, the new journey you live together begins.

the moment an attack happens, the first thing his mind is covered is you - only you and the condition you have.

the uncertainty of it makes his stomach crumble in concern. he needs to find you. he knows he has no right to think about you because he is the one who can’t say he has a weak point in his heart for you. but you know it, you know him more than he does for himself, and when you see the glimpse of nervous tomas steps inside the room you’re sitting in, a smile appears on your face.

however, tomas realizes it’s an act to hide the wounds you have when he closes the gap between you two. on his knees, hands on your arms, his eyes travel around your body, seeing blood getting dry on the shoulder and arms, cuts are long enough to make them look so painful.

“y/n,” his voice shaky, furrowing in concern and anger - how they can hurt his y/n? he is mad at them but he knows he should take you somewhere safe first. “I am so sorry that I couldn’t come any sooner.”

putting your palms on his cheeks, you smile wider, a sense of calmness washing over you knowing that he’s here and well. “no need, tomas. I am fine, don’t worry about me.”

he keeps his silence as he helps you get up. when he sees you can merely walk, he asks whether he can pick you up or not, and when you nod, with such care, he picks you up.

he concludes as he listens to you carefully, and finally finds a safe room with medicine.

firstly, with the help of you, he cleans your wounds - having a blush on his face while doing so. yes, you two had these kinds of closeness yet he can’t help but feel a bit shy and excited every single time.

this time is a bit different though, because you have wounds, more than one unfortunately, and you need them to be healed as soon as possible - tomas is determined to give you what you need even if it means staying beside you all week long. he will do it with pleasure.

with the trust he has for kuai liang, his brother, he sits beside you on the couch, and lets you put your head down onto his shoulder.

Since the start of the Shirai Ryu, you and Tomas were on the constant schedule of training and assessing new initiates alongside Kuai Liang. The temple grounds bustling with students of all sizes vigorously training, perfecting their skills to prove their capabilities and earn their place in the clan. By day, it was a constant ruckus, the cacophony of colliding blades and the impact of heavy fists on training dummies. And by night, the area serene and quiet, the moon blanketing the area so perfectly. Despite the looming threat of Bi-han and his corruption over the Lin Kuei, there was peace more often than not.

However, a recent message was received from the Lin Kuei. Bi-han knows about the Shirai Ryu, and is planning an attack. So, training was vigorous for all involved, including you and Tomas. The stress was running high, the weight of it beating down on your shoulders like the suns rays on a hot day. It caused an annoying amount of tension in your sleep, your body constantly on guard and ready to fight at all times. You tried your best to hide it, hoping a good stretch every morning, some meditation, or even a change of diet might help you relax, even a little. But unfortunately, that was far from the case.

After a while, it made it difficult to train, and subtly Tomas picked up on it. He placed a hand on your shoulder, a frown forming on his face at the sudden flinch of your muscles at his touch. “Is everything alright, y/n?” His voice was soft, anything to avoid triggering whatever inner turmoil that had plagued you. You contemplated for a moment, on whether you should tell him the truth of the heavy stress, or keep it to yourself to not be a bother. Ultimately, you shake your head, hanging it low in defeat, “no, my shoulders are really sore.” You rolled your neck with a grimace, giving it a stretch to further your point. His once concerned expression, slowly changed to a small smile, “why didn’t you say so, come here.” With a soft pat, Tomas gestured to the bed, standing to grab a bottle of lotion nearby.

A pained groan left your lips, your muscles twitching and tensing beneath his touch. Tomas worked his fingers through your shoulders, kneading the flesh and searching for knots. He was gentle, yet firm enough to mold your neck and shoulders into jello. With a careful amount of pressure, he formed a fist, twisting slightly to press his knuckles into your muscles. “Thank you, love, I needed this,” you murmured, muffled by the pillow your face was pressed into. He nods, gripping onto your sides and slowly rubbing circles down to your lower back, “anytime, my sweet.” Slowly, you could feel the relaxation setting in, your once solid and stiffened muscles now softening. You hummed in content, feeling yourself drift off. For a moment, he admired the softness of your skin, how your hair fell in strands over your peaceful expression, framing your face perfectly. The knots he once felt now melted beneath his fingertips, and the hums of satisfaction attested to that. If you hadn’t known him, you would have assumed he was a massage therapist — or at least, one in his past life. Tomas leaned down, placing featherlight kisses on your upper spine, then your shoulder blades, your shoulders, and finally a few on your neck, eliciting a drowsy giggle from you. He leaned back up to admire your form one last time, a sparkle in his eye and a satisfied smirk at the magic he worked for you.

Before long, the soft sound of quiet snores met his ears. Tomas chuckles lightly, rubbing the rest of the lotion into your skin. After changing into sleepwear, he pulled you under the blankets. He was prepared for whatever tomorrow would bring, even if that means massaging you once again. He would do it in a heartbeat, for a lifetime, if it means he gets to see the smile he adores so much. He drew you close, placing your back flush to his chest. He nuzzled his face deep into the crook of your neck, breathing in the scent of the eucalyptus lathered on your skin. With a smile, he drifted off alongside you.

Bi-Han should’ve seen it coming. That’s his first thought. Kombat is second nature to him, he feels as if he rarely fails. He’s independent, as well. Even with the Lin Kuei,– With you– he takes on more enemies he can chew sometimes. He’s stubborn, that way. To him, kombat is his entire life. He’s known the thrill of shedding blood at a young age, a dagger piercing a heart, a sword breaking skin. To him, there’s no need for reinforcements. He simply stands it. He knows the rules of battle far too well, every scar engraved into his skin a testament to that. So when the sword meant for him pierces your flesh, he is left… dumbfounded, in a way.

The next few days for him blur together. In fact, the minute he saw your blood, his mind went blank. He tries not to think about you in any way, because he is only met with the image of a sword driven through your torso, twice over. It feels like perhaps that blade was meant for you. Having to juggle the Lin Kuei and his beloved’s death takes a toll on him. He can put on a stoic face and continue his regular duties, but behind closed doors, he’s a mess.

Bi-Han doesn’t know what to do. The absence of you next to him, how empty the bed feels– how empty the world feels, it’s a haunting reminder. He finds no joy in anything, his anger bubbles over. Because he is afraid he acknowledges this sadness, he’ll lose himself. He’s a little more volatile, he’s less forgiving with the trainees, and he’s easy to take advantage of in kombat.

It is only after your funeral that he finally breaks. He held himself together quite well, despite being faced with your lifeless body, bloodless and horrifyingly still. And yet your face, oh so peaceful, as if nothing had happened. As if your blood had not coated Bi-Han’s hands. Blame is the only word on his mind, for days upon days he looks almost as lifeless as you did, his eyes dead and vacant. Nobody is home. He even starts to be less harsh on the Lin Kuei– even apologetic.

Finally, he cries. Late at night, curled up in bed. He feels pathetic, weak. Because he couldn’t save you, he can’t even remember what had happened, really. His mind forces the sequence of events out, every single one, except your blood stained torso, the sword having pushed its way all the way through, and the warmth of your blood coating his hands. He finds comfort in nothing, his days become increasingly dull. And when he cries, it feels as if he’s bleeding. His chest hurts, he cries until he’s coughing, until he’s dry heaving. Tears stain his face, they burn, his throat hurts from how much he’s begged, pleaded, prayed, that you would come back. That it was all some sort of dream. Unfortunately, Bi-Han is trapped within reality, an empty bed, a life lost of its warmth.

In battle, Kuai is balanced, he likes to believe. He can watch over himself, and he’s very perceptive. So when a sickle comes swinging at him, it’s you who he’s surprised to see. He’s ready and willing to accept his death. There is no greater honor than to die in kombat. He’d lament about leaving you and Tomas behind… but to see you so willingly take the blow, all he can think of is how proud he is of you. Before the stinging pain of loss grabs him by the throat. He cleans up the fight quickly, for once, he allows his heart to take the lead in kombat rather than his mind. He knows he shouldn’t, but every second counts.

Regardless, he’s too late. A jagged, uneven, deep slice to your neck. You bled out, aware of the battle that had raged around you. That is not the way Kuai wanted you to go, it’s something he grieves over separately. The reality of the situation hits him like a train. He finds himself unable to even stand properly. Everything reminds him of you, and nothing Tomas does to console him ends in a success. He operates on auto-pilot, unable to bring himself back to the present. He doesn’t want to. He won’t. He tries to shove the scene down in his mind, but no matter what he does, your bloodied face is staring right back at him.

With nothing else to quell his growing sadness, he trains. He thinks it’s anger that’s gnawing at him, clawing at him and ripping him apart. That, all he needs to do is take it out on a training dummy. Yet, each strike does nothing to take away the pain. In fact, his anger continues to rise. He takes a step back. And he understands.

At your funeral, Kuai is stone-faced. He doesn’t emote, he doesn’t show any sign of emotion. But he is afraid, truthfully. There are all sorts of emotions warring within him. It takes everything within him to not cry. Yet, when he looks at your face, he feels a sense of peace. Suddenly, everything is okay. It’s soothing, in a way. Knowing that now you are far away from the realm of kombat, of war, of duty. And the feeling of pride rises once more. He reminds himself that you died a warrior's death, something he couldn’t deny. No matter how much he wished he could change the outcome.

So, he continues to live on. Kuai Liang wants nothing more than to wallow, sob, scream out your name, bring you back by whatever means. But at the same time, he knows he must continue. In his own way, it is to honor you, as well. Recovery is not linear, and he will stumble. He will hurt, he will cry, he will fall. But he has to get up. It is how the world goes, he reminds himself. Not to mention the Shirai Ryu, they need a strong leader. He can lament all he wants, but your sacrifice has brought him a second chance at life. He will not ruin it.

⎯ Tomas Vrbada

Stealth is Tomas’ specialty. But when a mission goes awry, he’s a deadly opponent as well. He does not fail often, he is a deft hunter. Yet, somehow, for some reason lost to him, he had missed his mark. A single archer, positioned somewhere along the wall of the rampart. An arrow struck through your throat, an uncomfortable, horrid gagging and moaning slipping from your mouth. And suddenly, Tomas’ focus is broken. The archer has slipped away– it seems that you were their target. And he finds that unforgivable. Cowardly, even. But he does not chase. He won’t. 

He speaks to you as you bleed out, time is short, and he can’t get you to medics right away. But, pulling out the arrow is not an option either. He tries his best to comfort you, pushing back his own tears. He’d rather have you die with something, someone by your side. Even if words are meaningless, there is some peace sought out within them. And when you take your last, harsh, pained breath, Tomas relaxes. But he isn’t happy, of course. Far from it. The battle is over, and he is met with the face of loss once more.

Tomas knows grief by heart. Losing someone he’s loved, it is a feeling he revisits every waking day. Yet, he hadn’t been graced with a fresh wound like this in some time. He… doesn’t know what to do. Perhaps it is because he has forced his own emotions down, he does not know. Regardless, his world shifts, an inch off the center. Nothing is sure, nothing is right. The stars at night do not shine as brightly as they did when you were present, the moon does not seem as ethereal, the sun holds no other purpose than a light in the absence of yours. 

Your funeral paints over the image Tomas had often dreamed of, A modest celebration, a ring on your finger, a beautiful bouquet. It doesn’t matter how peaceful you look, he is forever haunted by the choking in your throat, the blood running from your mouth, your neck, coating your torso as he stood helpless. He is sullen, he sulks the entire time. But none blame him. Part of him wants nothing more than to climb into your casket and curl up next to you, hug you. Perhaps he wants to be buried with you, or perhaps he is seeking out that last bit of touch, before you become another one of his routine visits.

Tomas is… broken, understandably. He shuts himself away, hiding from his brother and Hanzo every so often. And when he is with either of them, he doesn’t emote much, he doesn’t talk much, he is gone. He feels like a husk, living dead. And when people point it out, he tries his best, oh, how hard he tries. He tries to be all smiles and sunshine, he overdoes it sometimes. He wants to live on in your memory, of course. But, your death instills a fear within him. Attachment, remembering and knowing that death will always be looming around the corner, ready to take. And take. And take. As it always does. As it always will. Tomas will get better, he will heal. But, he will grieve all the same. He will lead his life with you in his heart, same with his family.

Bi Han can’t keep his eyes off you, how your silk robe falls to the stone floor and how the water surrounds you and cups your body

he hugs you from behind, arms wrapping around your waist and lips pressed against your neck as he murmurs about how beautiful you look

you giggle at the feeling and say that he looks just as beautiful, and he just kisses the side of your neck under the pale light of the moon

it’s only you two at the hot springs, and he can feel your skin warming the longer you stay in the pool and the longer he kisses your neck

finally, you wriggle about in his grip until you face him, pressing a quick kiss to his lips and laying your head against his shoulder

he holds you in his arms, just listening to the waves lap at your skin, and you bury your hands in your hair and ask if everything was alright with him

at the end of his rant, brows furrowed and mouth pulled into a frown, you pull away from his and rub your thumb in between his eyebrows, releasing the tension

then you hum and thank him for confiding in you, and he hums, closing his eyes and savoring in the intimacy of the act

Kuai Liang rests in the pool, sighing and pulling his hair loose from the tight bun it had been in all day, and you step into the pool next to him

you lean in close to him, sighing at the warmth of his body, and he pulls you closer so that your chest is flush with his

reaching your hands up, you rub at his scalp, and he groans at the feeling, closing his eyes as you massage him and release the tension from his head

it’s relaxing, and he lets you do your work as your fingers move from the top of his scalp methodically and slowly, making sure to rub every single spot

there’s a comfortable soft silence that envelops the both of you as you massage his scalp, and the strands of his hair catch onto the water and spill around his back and to the front

and then when you finish, you cuddle against his chest, arms wrapped around his neck, and he just holds onto your back for stability

neither of you say anything, not needing to in the moment, and Kuai Liang buries his nose in your hair, breathing in the scent of you and your shampoo

it always brings him back to the present, to you, to remind him that he has something worth fighting for and to come back to after long missions

he can feel your breathing slow and even out as you fall asleep in his arms, and Kuai Liang just smiles down at the sight of your relaxed face

always so stressed and running around doing something to take care of him, and it calms his heart to see you so relaxed in his arms

he kisses your forehead before lifting you into his arms and stepping out of the pool to dry the both of you off and tuck you into bed

Tomas watches as you let out a whoop and cannonball into the pool, sending waves of water splashing into his face and wetting his hair

he laughs at your antics, coming up to where you float and then grabbing onto your shoulders and pushing you under briefly

you bob back up to the surface and let out a faux gasp of surprise before you push down on his shoulders and send him under the water as well

he laughs under the water, bubbles floating up to the surface before he does as well, and he splashes you as he resurfaces

it starts a splash war between the two of you, determined to splash each other the most despite the fact that the both of you were fully soaked

finally, Tomas wins the war when he dives under the water and grabs onto your foot to drag you under the surface and into his arms

you smile at him underneath the water, your hair floating around you, and he can’t help it as he gives you a kiss

your arms wrap around him and bring him in closer as the two of you kiss, but it’s an awkward rumble and tumble as the both of you float back up and bump your foreheads against each other

the both of you take in deep gasps of air as your heads come up, and then the both of you laugh as Tomas brings you back into his arms and kisses you again

it’s wet and messy, but the neither of you mind when you finally pull away and rest your foreheads against each other

it’s all you do for the rest of the night, laugh with each other and sneaking in kisses, and it was really a moment of bliss

Too Much - Lin Kuei x GN!autistic!reader (headcanons)

in which you experience a sensory overload

ship[s]: tomas vrbada, kuai liang, bi han, cyrax, sektor x GN!autistic!reader (separate)

warning(s): sensory overload (i did my best on research guys), pre-lin kuei split

Sensory overload: "...occurs when one or more of the body's senses is overstimulated to a point where a person is unable to cope."

While it can be used for PTSD and OCD, for the purposes of this fic, it will be related to autism and people on the spectrum

Tomas Vrbada - Ear-clapping

- ear-clapping is one of the more serious mechanisms that could happen with a sensory overload, which involves the person with autism to aggressively clap their ears. in the most severe cases, screaming and crying can occur

- Tomas learned this was caused by very loud sounds

- to help you, he learned that immediately moving you to a quieter area works wonders

- if there were no available quiet spaces, he did his best to hold you very tightly (and i mean very tightly) and cover your ears for you himself

- sometimes, during the severe attacks, you scratched his arm because they were in the way, but he powered through because you would not only calm down, but according to him- "tis but a scratch!"

Kuai Liang - Foot-tapping

- Kuai Liang used to think you foot-tapped when you were annoyed

- it always happened during the meetings where they were held in the old meeting hall, where the flames always seemed to flicker a bit too much

- or it happened when you heard the ancient clock in your shared room tick-tick-tick too much (he had it removed after weeks of back-and-forth between one of the elders)

- Kuai helps you out during these moments by just sitting next to you. he'll even talk to you (only when you say so)

- he learns that holding your hand is the best way to help you overcome the overload

Bi Han - Sensory-seeking Behavior

- Bi Han though you were really odd when he first saw you intensely smelling the unlit candle in your shared room, he realized though it was much more

- Bi Han definitely has "asian dad vibes" because his response to that was buying the entire stock of the candle you liked in case you were going somewhere and had an overload without him

- if you couldn't get your hands on the candle scent, Bi Han juggled ice balls (no you will not correct me on my headcanon that Bi Han juggles). he even mastered how to do multiple ice balls at once

- he learned this was caused by the intense smell of the incense that's burned in the training room. a combination of smelling salts plus some weird potion the elder mages imbued with the salts

- he prohibited the use of it immediately, but you occasionally smell it due to the centuries of use

- still, when you do smell it, he'll help you anyway he can

Sektor - Distraction Behavior

- Sektor thought it was weird that you fiddled with the stylistic wires that stuck out on the back of her helmet, but after learning it was to cope with sensory overload, she was more than happy to help

- sektor made you a personal "sensory toy," a stick with the exact wires that stuck out on one end. you use it often, but when it isn't on you, Sektor has other ideas

- she brought you this toad sculpture made of wood, with ridges sculpted in them for you to touch (you find it rather soothing)

- if it those things aren't present, Sektor doesn't mind that you fiddle with her hand: tracing pictures with your finger, playing with her fingers, etc

Cyrax - Sensory Avoidance Behavior

- after Cyrax watched you shut your eyes as tight as possible while rocking in place after dropping a huge aluminum tube, she felt really really bad

- caused by loud sounds, she learned your overload coping behavior was to not feel, see, or hear everyday sounds

- she made you a helmet that's blacked inside and out, and has incredible noise cancelling abilities

- she also made you earplugs, a combination of technology and soft materials so that you wouldn't be uncomfortable. she paired it with a simple blindfold made with the "blackest fabric dye in the world" (with what funds?)

- while there were days you wanted Cyrax to hold you, other overloads weren't as kind. sometimes you didn't want her with you, and thank the elder gods she didn't take it personal. she still felt bad leaving you alone, so she always left a pillow that was heavily doused in her natural smell
