Bane x GN!reader
Tumblr media
You're very self conscious about your body and think that Bane wants and deserves so much better than you
600 words
SFW-Body image issues, crying, hurt/comfort, fluff
All you saw were imperfections: stretch marks, blemishes, scars, nothing beautiful to you in the slightest. You stood in front of the mirror staring at your figure. Nothing was perfect. Not for you. Not for him.
You wanted to cry. Most people felt at least decent about their bodies and here you were, standing in front of a mirror, sucking in your stomach, pulling at your skin, just staring at everything you hated.
You felt defeated. All you wanted to do was feel confident, feel beautiful. Not necessarily for you, but for him.
You could feel the tears about to fall from your eyes when the door opened and you quickly brushed them away. "What are you doing?" He asked, setting his stuff down next to the bed and turning to look at you standing next to the mirror.
You took a breath, trying to hold back your tears "Bane, am I ugly...?" You asked quietly, bringing your hands up to cover your face, unable to hold back your tears.
As you stood there crying you felt two large arms wrap around your waist pulling you into a tight hug. He rested his head on your shoulder looking into the mirror. The scene of you crying making his heart shatter.
"How could you even ask something like that?" He asked, his voice quiet and sorrowful. You let out a sob hearing the tone of his voice: heartbreak.
"I'm sorry" You said quietly. "Don't apologize." He said soft but sternly. "I just...I don't know what to do." He looked at you with a confused expression. "About what?"
"Look at you and look at me; you're so perfect and I'm just...me. Why do you love me?" You asked quietly, looking at yourself in the mirror before you. You looked up to see the reflection of his eyes: sorrow.
"Is that what you really think?" He asked, still holding you close against him. All you could do was nod. He turned you so you were facing him, slowly bringing his hand up to wipe away your tears. You didn't want to look at him, fearing if you did you'd only cry harder.
"Look at me. Please." He said, lifting your chin up to look at him. You slowly opened your eyes to meet his gaze. His eyes filling with tears. "You are everything I could ever want. You are my everything, my muse, my life. Never doubt that, my love. You're perfect" You let out a small sob, a mix of happiness and anguish.
He pulled you into a hug as you rested your head on his shoulder. "What did I ever do to make you think of yourself this way?" He askes, gently caressing your back. "You did nothing, you never have. I just...why me? You could have anyone on this earth. Why someone like me?" You asked, looking up into his eyes searching for a response.
He stood there silently for a moment before placing his hands on your hips. "Turn around." "What?" You asked, visibly confused. "Go on. Turn around."
You hesitantly turned around to face the mirror once more. "You want to know why you're perfect?" Before you could respond he gently wrapped his arms around your waist once more, placing his head on your shoulder. "My arms wrap perfectly around your beautiful figure. I get the privilege of resting my head on your shoulder. To be able to look in the mirror and see those mesmerizing eyes of yours. You're my perfect fit, in every possible way, my love."
A tear fell from your eye, not from sorrow but from happiness. He held you tighter as you placed your arms on his, taking in the moment. He loved you. Every imperfection, every flaw, everything you hated. All you could do was savor the moment, turning to give him a proper hug. "I would give the world to see you; every part of you."
"I love you so much." You said, holding him tightly. "I would trade the stars for you my love. Don't you ever forget that."

NIEL FOR STEEL MILLS (DC Motors) part -2
Part - 2
Here I am trying to explain the below sentence, it may be noted that I am an Electrical Engineer, 1992 batch so please take this with a pinch of salt, however, my attempt is to give you not only accurate knowledge but also lessons learned from practical experiences.
The one sentence I used in Part - 1 is, 'if you are setting up a large capacity unit higher than 5 Million Tons per Year (5 MT/Y), with a good quality power supply, located near an industrial hub go for AC Motor & controls, else go for DC Motors and DC Controls'. Now, am going to break up this sentence to explain each part for a deeper understanding.
If you are setting up a large capacity unit higher than 5 Million Tons per Year (5MT/Y) go for AC motors, but if you are setting up a smaller unit, i.e. less than 5 Million Tons per Year (5MT/Y), then I would recommend the use of DC Motors because these are lower in cost compared to AC Motors for the same performance with a slight trade off on speed variation.
Also, a smaller unit means, a lower budget and lower capacity, and thus you need to stretch your resources to the maximum.
DC Motors are one of the most robust, hardy, and reliable workhorses in the STEEL industry.
Some Gyaan - any electrical device is limited by its 'COOLABILITY', ie how well it can maintain its temperature within operating limits, which is a key aspect of its design and performance.
Every electrical equipment's design has to factor in this COOLABILITY aspect, like in Transformers - the oil helps perform this function, in a typical Motor the fins help do this, in a circuit breaker the air around it helps this, in a conductor the jell or air helps address this critical need and in a computer the cooling fan/heat sink, perform the same task.
A Typical DC motor used in Steel Mill application has 2 forms of cooling. The first is its Laminated Yoke design and the second is through the Force Cooling unit (IC-06). A Typical AC motor used for the same application has Cooling through the Cooling fan fitted on the Non-Drive End (NDE) and the fins on its stator body.
The Yoke in a DC motor is for providing stability and a providing a return path for the eddy currents that waste power and heat the metal frame of the motor. Using a laminated yoke in a DC motor reduces the losses of power and also reduces heating, allowing more power to be drawn from the motor and allowing the motor to run with less energy waste.
I can go on talking about many other technical and electrical aspects but am restricting myself to a generalized knowledge transfer here, with the hope of easier ingestion, simplicity and decision making.
If you have any questions, feel free to call me, will try my best to resolve them.

Oh god oh yea okay hold on op this will get long (under read more)
Helena Bertinelli
How I feel about this character: I adore her 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 literally my wife my muse my love
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Dinah, Karen, Renee
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Helena and Eel, John Henry and Zauriel ^_^ also think she and Vic Sage should have “LETS GO LESBIANS LETS GO!” Energy together
My unpopular opinion about this character: I love Barbara dont get me wrong but shes an AWWFUUUUUULL friend to Helena 😭😭😭 like I LITERALLY CANNOT GET OVER HOW BABS CANONICALLY BEFRIENDED HELENA SOLELY TO MANIPULATE HER ORIGINALLY... not to mention all of that unnecessary beef over dick and like OTHER PEOPLE calling Helena batgirl.....
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish she stayed with the justice league for more time so much 😭😭😭 I have a soft spot for JLA (1997) always its my fav critically examined run but MAN helena getting fired when the first run was ending pissed me off!!!!
my OTP: Probably right now Dinahelena? Tie between Reneehelena and that one
my cross over ship: I don’t have a ton of non dc media I like but Liz sherman from hellboy maybe
a headcanon fact: She has a wine cooler in her car at all times for people to grab a drink from if needed, the only rule she has is to try not to spill it everywhere because it’s a bitch to get out of her leather seats
Selina Kyle
How I feel about this character: Admittedly idk a ton about Selina I need to haul ass on reading catwoman solos 😭 I've had a complicated relationship with her but as of right now I like her! I think she’s cool

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Duke! Ultimate siblings. Also just like the idea of Lonnie and Cass getting along bc they tell old men they suck
My unpopular opinion about this character: Cass should not be able to beat everybody. She should not be able to beat people of unimaginable power such as Dr Fate. Like I think she could defeat normal fighters, or maybe enhanced fighters, but actual metas and magic casters etc I don’t think she would be able to, especially since iirc she almost fucking died fighting metahuman assassins??? So
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I know we all say it but let cass be batman v_v but also let her be batman and let carrie Kelly be her batwoman so that they can absolutely hate each other I wanna see that play out

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Cass
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Lonnie ^_^ Rebirth lonnie is literally so OOC and nasty I don’t wanna hear any bs abt how its ‘better’ but I did like the idea of Steph and Lonnie being friends and I think it'd work still with Lonnie’s good characterisation
My unpopular opinion about this character: Timsteph is a bad ship its objectively bad and I hate it a lot also Steph kissing Tim knowing he was dating Arianna was shitty writing/a dick move on her part i just hate all of it its comp het the ship
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: OKAY I NEED TO READ MORE STEPH COMICS FIRST but I am perpetually haunted by my idea of steph in the future becoming huntress.... I Ponder It

Back Again, Plots a Plenty
Ah, FYRA, hello. Back in January I had proudly bragged to a partner that I was done posting ads because I had all the writing I needed. Was I actually that naive or has 2020 actually been that long? Damn COVID. Anyway, my name is Chris, a dude in his late twenties with a lovely wife (that also uses this board for ads! Hey, Poe! I miss you!), two gorgeous animals that I love sharing pictures of, a comic book addiction and crazy ass job in a COVID19 ICU as a night nurse. Basically, the roleplay will *ALWAYS* be super medically accurate. I've been writing long enough that I list my skill as 'god damn professional' and post 2-3 times a week but am available for plotting and gushing over our line nearly around the clock. I can crank out anywhere from 4-16 paragraphs a reply, depending on the action and characters. I only write m/f (as the dude) and f/f. Always aiming to write in the long term.
I'm easy to reach! Either drop a line to me at [email protected] or on Discord at NurseBatman#3674. I'm also on Gchat and skype at Chrisx104 if anyone still uses those dinosaur messengers. Anyway, onto plots, originals first and then fandoms. Original
Political Intrigue, m/f
A male US congressman with an image as a family man plans to make a jump to the senate and hires a young and savvy woman to be his campaign manager. One thing leads to another on the road and the two begin a secret relationship that revolves around garnering more political power. This line is heavily influenced by my love of House of Cards and could involve sabotage, murder, black mail, etc. Definitely a line that I could envision lasting a few 'seasons'.
Lost in America, m/f & f/f
A piece set in 1970s, my favorite era of time. A group of teenagers, most of which have recently graduated from High School, decide to leave their sleepy little east coast town behind for a new life out in California. Loading up into a VW Bus and blaring some music that would eventually be deemed 'classic rock', they had out on their adventure. I'm envisioning a cast from 4-7 and will HAPPILY throw in some horror elements into this line.
The Social Media Age, m/f
A successful but relatively down to Earth guy runs across a beautiful woman that he immediately begins chatting up, unaware of her world wide following as a social media influencer due to his utter disconnect from various platforms of social media. She's intrigued by the fact that he isn't a part of her world and the two hit it off. We can develop it further from there but I have a ton of ideas. I sort of envision this line as an *EPIC* romance line, with the possibility to write in a thousand fun locations across the world.
A Detective Story, F/F
Twin teenagers are murdered and two female detectives are kicked the case. I'm really wide open on this one, in regards to the setting and if there's a relationship between the two detectives previously or not. This is just heavily influenced by my love of True Detective.
The Fight Life
This one is a bit of a longshot because I'm definitely looking for someone with some knowledge in regards to MMA/UFC, my personal favorite sport. I'd love to find someone interested in writing a female MMA fighter that is just breaking into the big leagues. I have a bit of a supporting cast in mind to build around her (Coach, best friend, and a love interest) left over from when I couldn't get this line off the ground previously due to a partner's chronic ADD. This line would include getting to write some pretty batshit crazy fight scenes.  If you're interested but don't know anything about MMA, I am a willing, willing tutor.
FANDOMs
DC Comics
I would definitely just love to write an original continuity Batman against an original continuity Catwoman. We can pick the circumstances of their meeting/reunion (adding in knowing each other when they were younger) and what sort of Gotham we want to write in. I have a lot of experience writing Bruce but have never gotten to do this pairing much.
Marvel Comics
PLEASE, I so badly want to write Peter Parker. I have read comics for a hundred damn years and have never really gotten to write the Spectacular Spider-man and really, really want to. Unfortunately, most of his love interests are sort of lame, Black Cat/Felicia Hardy notwithstanding. If anyone would be interested in writing these two, I'd love to do it quasi MCU adjacent, with Peter at college when he meets Felicia before later encountering (unknowingly) encountering her as Black Cat.
Crossover Comics
I love writing John Constantine and he's one of my favorites to write. I'd love to find someone interested in writing Wanda/Scarlet Witch since the MCU has never really touched on the magic aspect of her powers and give her a drunken Yoda to deal with and channel her obscene amount of power.
The Matrix
An old fandom that I wrote years ago but one with a lot of original potential for fun. Maybe something with the next anomaly or just a crew working to ease humans out of the matrix after the films. Idk.  Dead Like Me
An old show I loved. What could be more fun than writing an original group of grim reapers as they navigate their own death and escort the recently deceased onto the next life while still trapped in this plane.
Harry Potter
Buddy cop aurors. That's all I got. I hope something in this ad caught someone's attention. Message me or email me and let's create something awesome together!

thewarriorgoddess replied to your post: It turns out that, the stronger my units get, and...
Oh it’s not you. It’s the piss poor game design. It makes no logical sense to me how killing one unit after wasting like 2 of your units’ turns spawn in 2 or 3 more reinforcements. Luckily the rewards are some silly gold accessories and not actual resources.
I’m glad it’s not just me?  Like, I kinda worry about this now.  I wonder if part of the recent trend toward more and more nonsense maps is because players have stronger and stronger tools.  Like, my Idunn/L!Julia/B!Micaiah team was fantastic until they’d been out a while and other, equally stronger options, that now we’re getting maps where the enemy cheats.  Kempf was entirely about cheating bullshit.  Altina’s map is a bunch of reinforcements and an absolute requirement for either Desperation or Hardy Bearing to deal with her.  Celica’s is about a ton of reinforcements showing up, mostly behind you, when you kill even one enemy at the outset.
I dunno, it feels like the maps have gotten more ridiculous as powercreep continues, as if to establish this sense of “oho no, you can’t just brute force things anymore!”  But to do that, it’s largely swarming people with added enemies that are hard to control, making obscene bosses that get shit like Vantage double-strike DC shit, or Miracle on a unit that can easily one-round everyone and packs combination Desperation/Null Follow-Up.  It just feels like the tools they’re throwing out, aside from just the increase to powercreep itself, have resulted in a greater level of shenanigans I need to pull for a win.
Although truth be told, I will take an Altina or Celica Abyssal map over Kempf’s Infernal any day.  That map is Grade-A bullshit.

mini-reviews of superhero media i am shovelling into my gaping maw because that’s how i get through the fucking holidays
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse (movie)
11/10, animated film of the year, yes the hype is real, donate to miles morales web fluid gofundme now. hits that sweet center of bomb aesthetics, sweet jams, and representing every spidey with love and care and wonder.
Heroes of The Boxed Circle (fanfic by mithen)
The novel-length superbat wrestling au you never knew you needed. Written by someone who really knows their wrestling lore, gets into the world of heels and babyfaces through cape personas. The romance is real good too.
Once Upon A Deadpool (movie)
The Fred Savage stuff was fun. Didn’t tone down as much expected. Added more Negasonic/Yukio, but I lowkey see why they were shaved off the final cut, DP2 was way tighter without em. After-after-after-credit is A+.
Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Ant-Man, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming (a shit ton of movies)
I stumbled into a livestream where these played back-to-back, so they all feel like a singular experience. Can I describe what any one movie was like? No. But I think I qualify for American citizenship now.
Venom (a cinematic experience)
I’ve watched this three fucking times. First time, in the cinema; second time, a torrent of a Russian theatre rip where a dude’s silhouette would bob every 20 minutes; third time, I came out of a blackout with pad thai on my pillow and it was playing on my laptop. Every viewing has been a spiritual reading. God is revealing himself in Tom Hardy’s misery. Dan, Michelle Williams’ boyfriend, becomes more angelic. I normally cringe when I see media industry humans in fiction, but Eddie Brock somehow affording a one-bedroom apartment on a fired journalist’s salary is too fucking funny to feel any ways about.
Titans (tv series)
Three episodes in, so this is incomplete/unfair: I fucking hate the writing of this show. The casting and soundtrack? STELLAR. Action? We getting it. Hell, it’s been fun playing “spot turrono filming locations.” But the shitty writing is fouling how much I can like it. I wish I could suspend my disbelief for the storyline, but the direction it takes and its dick (grayson) fixation flies in the face of better plot. The only reasons I’m still on it: this VPNed DC Universe trial ain’t gonna watch itself, KORI, Raven and Beast Boy are cute, I wanna see Doom Patrol’s zany bullshit before giving up completely.
Die Hard (movie)
Not superhero-related, but I saw it for the first time and WHY DIDN’T HE PUT ON SHOES. WHY DIDN’T HE PUT ON SHOES. WHY DIDN’T HE PUT ON SHOES.

Theme Bestiary: Wood Colossi
Tumblr media
CR 17/MR 6
Neutral Gargantuan Construct
Pathfinder Bestiary 5, pg. 59
Construction Requirements: Craft Construct and Mythic Crafter with a Mythic Rank or Tier of 7. Antimagic Field, Magnificent Mansion, Ironwood, Limited Wish and/or Miracle. Craft (Woodworking), with a Craft DC of 30.
The construction of a Wood Colossus requires hundreds of tons of wood, not only for its exterior body, but its internal, unusual dimensions. It costs 80,000gp worth of wood as raw material to make one of these.
Cost to Build: The sheer amount of wood needed to make a Wood Colossus would require the devastation of numerous environments. It would take the felling of several forests--perhaps dozens of forests--to harvest enough wood to create a single Colossus. Because of the amount of labor involved in this process, plus the installation of the shifting, odd-dimensional space within the Colossus, it costs 190,000gp to make one.
It’s a shame we started so strongly with the Stone Colossus before taking a step backwards for this one. It’s not that the Wood Colossus is weak, no, but its kit is much less decorated than the Stone Colossus. It possesses no spell-like abilities and no ranged attacks, and allied creatures cannot hide inside of it while it walks around and attacks. However, it IS a bit more resilient than the already infuriating-to-harm Stone Colossus, possessing Fast Healing 20 at its base and the Second Save ability, which lets it reroll a saving throw versus any effects on it every single round. It also has a movespeed of 60ft, a full 20 over the Stone Colossus, and... Well, I suppose you could say it’s a little more flexible than its stony brother, figuratively and literally.
Everyone around one actually gets less flexible, though. The Selective Antimagic Field projected by a Wood Colossus is more restrictive than the Stone Colossi’s, with only spells with the Light descriptor or spells affecting plants allowed through. There’s very few spells which can actually impede a Wood Colossus in any meaningful way, and thanks to its constant Woodland Stride, that selection is limited even further.
Closing in with its lengthy, warped legs, a Wood Colossus’ 20 foot reach gives it a bit of room to work with with its three slam attacks, each dealing 2d12+17 damage. Should it be faced with a single hardy target, the construct can use its Improved Vital Strike to instead deliver one especially devastating slam instead of three smaller ones and still have its swift action left over to deliver a Pinning Stomp, which works in exactly the same way it does for the Stone Colossus, except the damage from the pin is 2d12+17 (always equal to the construct’s slam attack). Though it lacks the ranged attacks and disruptive spell-likes of the Stone Colossus, it does not need to use Mythic power to fuel its Fast Healing; this means the Wood Colossus can instead pour its uses of Mythic power into either a Surge, or to use Mythic Resilience more often, which doubles its DR 10/Epic to DR 20/Epic for 1 round, making it just as hard to damage as a Stone Colossus in its keep form.
... And speaking of its keep form... The Wood Colossus does indeed have an Alternate Form, and its altered shape is especially interesting. A Wood Colossus can transform itself into an elaborate manor as a full-round action, the exact configuration of rooms directed wholly by the creator’s will but allowing up to 10 Medium-sized creatures (or 5 Large, or 20 Small, etc) to live comfortably inside for as long as they have a means to generate food. Unlike the barebones Stone Colossi’s fixed rooms, the Wood Colossi’s internal manor is fully furnished with any wooden items the creator desires, from tables to training dummies should they so wish. In addition, any items brought inside can be safely stored away for later, kept in an extradimensional pocket within the construct until it’s either slain, or the item is removed. There’s no written limit to how much nonsense can be held within a Wood Colossus, but it’s safe to assume it’s somewhere around “10 people’s-worth of junk.”
In addition, while a Wood Colossus cannot use its attacks in its manor form and thus cannot defend itself from outside attack, it’s considerably more resistant to inside attacks. A Wood Colossus can use Telekinesis at will against its inner dimensions, and while the construct’s version of the spell has the unfortunate restriction of only affecting wooden objects, a creative colossus creator may note that this means: A) It can manipulate items that other people are holding or wearing, and B) Wooden restraints exist. All wooden items within the Colossus gain its DR 10/Epic, and it can use its Telekinesis to help hold the items together if they’re threatening to break, so a full-body cast made of wood (or, more realistically, a pair of wooden cuffs) can be swiftly applied to any uppity ‘guests’ inside to keep them helpless until someone (usually the construct itself) can be bothered to deal with them.
Barring that, smashing someone with a gigantic wooden banquet table over and over again is usually enough to quell even the most hostile of dinner guests.
The only downside to the Wood Colossus’ internal manor is that it cannot host living creatures while it’s in its bipedal form; Anyone inside of it when it changes from manor to combat mode is harmlessly (thankfully) ejected into adjacent spaces. I assume this is the case so the inner manor cannot be exploited, turning into an inescapable wooden prison. Still, it’s an unfortunate flaw in an otherwise magnificent creation.
You can read more about them here.

2021 commences with another anxiously foreseen MCU venture, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on February 21, 2021. Coordinated by Destin Daniel Crettin, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings stars Simu Liu, Akwafina, and Tony Leung and will check the primary Marvel Studios film to include an Asian lead. The film will likewise bring the genuine Mandarin into the MCU - following through on the guarantee Marvel has been making since 2013 when Iron Man 3 gave us a fraud. The film is turning out to be an energizing one and not only for fans. Crettin recently clarified that he didn't think he would land the position, yet it is a fantasy worked out as expected for him.
Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness
Tumblr media
Fans have been hanging tight since 2016's Doctor Strange for this one. On May 7, 2021, we at last get the line up to that film with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Scott Derrickson comes back to coordinate this film which will star Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen. We don't have the foggiest idea about a great deal about the film yet, yet we do realize that it's been touted Marvel Studios' first genuine attack into frightening motion pictures. The film is probably going to have a genuine ghastliness bowed, something that could be exceptionally energizing for devotees of both Marvel and awfulness type films.
Batman
Tumblr media
Perhaps the most eagerly anticipated of all of the upcoming DC films, on June 25, 2021 Robert Pattinson suits up as The Batman. MCU SPIDER-MAN 3
Tumblr media
July 16, 2021 is an energizing date for Spider-Man fans as it denotes the normal discharge date for the third Tom Holland Spider-Man film - a film that numerous fans dreaded could never occur after the much-discussed dropping out between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures prior this year.
The Suicide Squad
Tumblr media
James Gunn bounces to the DC side of things for The Suicide Squad, set to open on August 8, 2021. There's a great deal of mystery around the subtleties of this film, what we do have some thought of is bounty energizing. Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, Idris Elba, David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior, John Cena, Steve Agee, Nathan Fillion, and Taika Waititi are generally showing up in the film. What's more, with respect to the characters? Gunn as of late uncovered the points of confinement he had when it came to what characters he utilized. THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER
Tumblr media
On November 5, 2021, the MCU gets a female Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder. FEBRUARY 18, 2022 - UNNAMED MCU FILM
Tumblr media
As we round into 2022, we start running into discharge dates that don't yet have movies connected to them and February 18, 2022 is one such date. The date is held for a portion of the MCU and as we as of now have a discharge date for Black Panther 2, Doctor Strange 2, Shang-Chi, Spider-Man 3, and The Eternals, our best supposition is this could be the opening for Captain Marvel 2. SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE SEQUEL
Tumblr media
Last Friday, Sony announced that a sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is officially coming to screen on April 8, 2022. At this point, that's really all we know so you can check out the official announcement from Sony below. BLACK PANTHER 2
Tumblr media
Fans may have been disappointed when San Diego Comic-Con came and went with no announcement of the release date for Black Panther 2. JULY 29, 2022 - UNNAMED MCU FILM
Tumblr media
Another MCU date with no named film, the July 29, 2022 is reserved for an installment of the MCU and as we already have a release date for Black Panther 2, Doctor Strange 2, Shang-Chi, Spider-Man 3, and The Eternals, our best guess is that this could be the slot for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. AQUAMAN 2
Tumblr media
Aquaman 2 is set to make a splash on December16, 2022.  Source: https://comicbook.com/marvel/2019/11/04/all-marvel-dc-movies-to-be-released-through-2022-/#18 Read the full article

5 Reasons Why Spider-Man Leaving The MCU Would Be Devastating (& 5 Why It Might Not Be So Bad)
When it was first announced that negotiations had broken down between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures and Spider-Man wouldn’t be featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe anymore, it seemed like a bad dream. MCU fans thought it was just negotiation tactics and expected the whole thing to blow over after a few days, especially given the very vocal fan response to the situation.
RELATED: Spider-Man: 10 Ways The MCU Might Still Pay Off Far From Home's Big Identity Twist
But now, it’s looking like the split might be permanent and Spidey might actually be out of the MCU for good. So, here are five reasons why Spider-Man leaving the MCU would be devastating (and five why it might not be so bad).
10 Devastating: He has unresolved plotlines in the MCU
Tumblr media
If Spider-Man was leaving the MCU after some sort of natural conclusion, that would be one thing. If Marvel suddenly lost the rights to Thor, for example, it wouldn’t be too bad, because he reached a natural ending to his MCU tenure in Avengers: Endgame and we could live with that being his final appearance. Spider-Man, on the other hand, has a ton of unresolved storylines.
He’s been framed as a murderer, his secret identity has been revealed to the world, he just got together with the girl he likes, he’s still following in Tony Stark’s footsteps – now, all of those storylines will be cast aside and left unresolved.
9 Might not be so bad: Tom Holland is still Spider-Man
Tumblr media
The fan outrage over Spider-Man leaving the MCU has mostly come from the fact that we finally got the perfect on-screen incarnation of Peter Parker, and now, we’re losing him. But we’re not really losing him. Tom Holland will continue to play the best screen version of Spidey to date; it’ll just be in Sony movies, not Marvel movies.
There have even been suggestions that Sony still has director Jon Watts signed on for another Spider-Man movie. So, just because he’s leaving the MCU, it’s not the end of the world – we’ll still have the Spidey we know and love from those movies.
8 Devastating: Sony doesn’t understand the character
Tumblr media
The problem with Sony is that their executives think they understand Spider-Man as well as Marvel and the simple fact is that they don’t. Sony’s only good Spider-Man movies have been Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2, and these were the only ones where they gave Sam Raimi creative freedom.
They enforced decisions on him making Spider-Man 3 and they’re the reason he quit Spider-Man 4. The Amazing Spider-Man movies were Sony’s take on Spidey and they really sucked. Spidey fans have no faith in Sony handling the character. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse might have been an exception, but that was animated and not live-action, so a different team of execs were steering that ship.
7 Might not be so bad: Now, he can cross over with Venom and Morbius
Tumblr media
Sony Pictures have been building up their own MCU-style cinematic universe with the obscure Marvel characters they have the rights to. They’ve only released Venom so far, but they have a movie about Morbius the Living Vampire on the way and several others in development, all based on Spider-Man villains.
RELATED: 5 Reasons Tom Holland's Spider-Man Should Meet Tom Hardy's Venom (& 5 Why He Shouldn't)
With Spider-Man back at Sony, he’ll be a part of this universe, and he can cross over with its characters. It seemed unlikely that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Tom Hardy’s Venom would ever share the screen, but now, they can. And the same goes for Jared Leto’s Morbius and all the others on the way.
6 Devastating: He was being set up as the next Iron Man
Tumblr media
Spider-Man: Far From Home focused heavily on setting up Peter Parker as the next Tony Stark – not just in terms of Tony’s legacy, but in the MCU as a whole. Spidey was probably poised to be the next character to triumphantly sacrifice themselves and bring tears to everybody’s eyes in a gargantuan battle sequence against a powerful villain – possibly Norman Osborn, his arch nemesis from the comics – in an Endgame-sized event movie a few years down the line.
But now, he’ll never live up to his old mentor and he’ll never become the MCUs next Iron Man-shaped anchor because he won’t even be there.
5 Might not be so bad: He’s no longer in Iron Man’s shadow
Tumblr media
Spider-Man got his own character arc in the MCU, thanks to his solo movies, but serving Tony Stark’s character development was also a large part of his role in the franchise. He got Tony to open up emotionally and think about starting a family. Then, when Tony had that family and the “Time Heist” was proposed to him, he turned the idea down until he was inspired by the chance to bring Peter Parker back to life.
Even after Tony died, he loomed large over Spidey’s MCU story in Far From Home. With Sony taking Spidey back, at least he’ll be out of Tony’s shadow.
4 Devastating: The MCU will now be even more inconsistent
Tumblr media
Following the Marvel Cinematic Universe, going from movie release to movie release every couple of months, is a lot of fun. But at the end of the day, when the quality dips and the superhero trend inevitably goes out and the MCU finally ends (like, actually ends, rather than ending its ending with six new beginnings), all we’ll be left with is a gigantic DVD box set with one enormous story to tell.
While there were already a couple of blips in the consistency of this – Bruce Banner getting recast, Spider-Man: Homecoming’s erroneous “Eight years later...” etc. – Spider-Man suddenly being cut out will make it as inconsistent as the DC Extended Universe.
3 Might not be so bad: Sony can do a Sinister Six movie
Tumblr media
Whenever the producers of the MCU were asked about Tom Holland’s Spider-Man facing the Sinister Six – the team dedicated solely to destroying your friendly neighborhood web-head – they got all coy about it. There’s a good chance that Sony prevented them from doing this, since the company owns the rights to 900 Marvel characters and once planned their own Sinister Six movie.
Now that Spidey has been dragged back to Sony, at least we’ll be able to see him fight the Sinister Six on the big screen. This arrangement might have very few silver linings, but that’s definitely one of them.
2 Devastating: His MCU character arc is ruined
Tumblr media
Kevin Feige has been saying that Spidey’s tenure in the MCU was never meant to last forever, and that they always planned to have him for just a handful of movies, but come on, Spider-Man: Far From Home was clearly just the beginning of Spider-Man’s MCU character arc.
RELATED: 6 Characters We'll Miss From The MCU's Spider-Man (& 4 We Won't)
He was just learning to become a hero on his own before his life was thrown into a tailspin. The MCU’s greatest strength is its character arcs – following characters like Tony Stark and Steve Rogers as they grow and change and strive towards an ultimate goal – but they only work if the franchise is able to finish those arcs.
1 Might not be so bad: He can stand on his own again
Tumblr media
What has made Spider-Man such an endearing character for so many years is that he’s just a regular kid. He was bitten by a spider, he acquired superpowers, and he felt the need to use those superpowers to help people. But no one gave him a handbook on superheroism. He had to figure it out on his own.
When we met Peter Parker in the MCU, he was being recruited by Tony Stark. He’d been figuring it out on his own, but we never saw that part of the story. Now that he’s back at Sony and out of the MCU, he can stop being a supporting player and stand on his own two feet again, driving his own story forward.

Pick your Poison and let's Write!
My name is Chris and I'm a 28 year old roleplayer with 15 years experience writing! I'm an ICU RN in my free time with a beautiful wife and an even more beautiful cat and a fairly brand new puppy. I write mainly over email and reply 2-3 times a week with anywhere from 5-16 paragraphs, depending on the characters and actions in the scene. I also communicate over various messengers if that is at all your jam for plotting purposes and the like. I write the male in M/F and, to a lesser extent, F/F lines. And, since I'm a ICU nurse, I can always promise painfully medically accurate roleplay. I put extra *s by the lines that I will literally lose my mind if you approach me about. Searching hard! Figured I'd start with original lines: -The Social Media Age
Something focusing on a fairly average guy (Good job, own issues, hobbies, and life) getting tangled up with a female that is a massive Instagram star/influencer type, their two worlds clashing even as they fall for one another. I have a few good ideas for this!
-F/F True Detective/The Wire Some sort of law enforcement partners trope that has two ladies deep in an investigation of some kind, preferably in a gritty ass city. I have a character in mind and would love to spitball something. Fandoms -Preacher Seriously. Love this show, love this comic. Would happily write Jesse or Cassidy against Tulip. Just definitely looking for a Tulip -The Boys Would love to write Hughie against Starlight! Currently working my way through the season that just dropped. -Marvel Let me write the webhead. Peter Parker, college aged and not exactly the MCU version. I would love to find someone that was interested in writing Felicia Hardy/Black Cat but I'd be down with trying most romantic interests just because I want to write this so bad. Bring on bombshell MJ or an eternally doomed Gwen (OR SPIDERGWEN). If you have a different idea, hit me up. Open minded here. -DC -I'd love to write Batman against Catwoman, please. I'm not too picky on the setting or the iteration. -John Constantine against almost anyone. I'd kill for an Elsa Bloodstone but that's obscure as heck. A mage and a monster hunter that are both English taking on the supernatural underworld. Let's make it into an adventure like magic Indiana Jones and just go nuts with it. Seriously, this could be so fun. Otherwise, Zatanna (old flames), Jessica Jones (Two cynical alcoholics become barstool neighbors before one's business shows up at the bar as well), or Scarlet Witch (Instead of going to Stephen Strange, Wanda ends up as John's student)? -Resident Evil I'd like to write Leon against Claire Redfield or Jill Valentine in an original outbreak or a new one. I know this is an old school fandom but I'm a diehard fan. -The Matrix Another obscure fandom. Maybe just an original crew, set during the movies, after, or an AU where they're the only survivors of Zion? Im not sure but I could plot something out! -Uncharted I'd love to write Chloe Frazier against Nadine Ross, continuing their adventures. I'm pretty wide open on what we can do with this one. -Overwatch I just recently got into this game and think the fandom is a ton of fun. While I might need a bit of tutorial on the storyline outside of the characters, I'd be down to write a few of them. But I have no idea what the standard ships are. RANDOM CRACK SHIPS! Caught in a Web: I would love to write an iteration (Daniel Craig or an original) of James Bond/007 against a non superhero version of Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow. Spy vs spy shenanigans as two people working for different governments. Totally impossibly but putting it just in case: Did anyone see all that Wonder Woman/Lara Croft art that was floating around the internet earlier this year? I would love to dive into that. I'd prefer to write Lara but I'm definitely not picky. My email is [email protected]. I'm on skype at Chrisx104 (Same for gmail) and Discord at NurseBatman#3674

Lego Batman Movie Review
PROS: It was fantastic from start to finish, an utter delight packed with tons of references that somehow manages to balance being irreverent and, simultaneously, a genuinely great take on characters like Batman, Robin, Joker, Alfred, and Barbara Gordon.
Will Arnett’s Batman, as over-the-top and parodic as he is, still gets to the heart of Batman’s very real, canonical loneliness and fear of family. There was more than a little Bojack Horseman in his Batman, which worked I don’t know how fans of Dick Grayson will take this different take on the character, since I myself have never felt much affinity for Dick (Tim’s the only Robin who has ever resonated with me), but I personally loved every second with him. He was so pure, so precious.
I really have to give it to the filmmakers for the inspired choice of Zach Galifianakis as the Joker. Not only does he NOT try to do a riff on either Mark Hamill (like the Lego Batman games did) or Heath Ledger (like TV’s Gotham seems to be doing), but he somehow manages to really get to the heart of the Joker’s “relationship” with Batman in a very human, down-to-earth way while still being The Joker. It really just has to be seen to be believed. I also loved what little we got of Jenny Slate’s perky and stylish Harley Quinn, and would have liked to have seen a lot more of her. Which brings me to...
CONS: There wasn’t enough of it! There was so many characters, many of whom were played by famous funny people, who barely got any screen time at all. You have Conan O’Brien as the Riddler, Jason Mantzoukas as the Scarecrow, and Riki Lindhome as Poison Ivy, all of whom essentially get one line of dialogue each! Billy Dee Williams only gets, appropriately enough, about two as Two-Face.
And why cast Kate Micucci as Clayface if you're not going to play off her adorable voice against the giant mud monster she's playing? At least Doug Benson got to hilariously riff on Tom Hardy as Bane a few times. Also, I wanted more of Zoe Kravitz' Henrietta Pussycat take on Catwoman (who was a surprisingly minor character here, for once).
I really, really hope this can get an ongoing TV series or something. Just another sequel won’t cut it. The prospect of adventures with the Lego version of Gotham and all its inhabitants interests me far, FAR more than anything coming out from live-action DC!
Actually, there’s one big dangling plot thread that I can’t discuss because of spoilers, but it involves a certain major, non-Batman DC villain who is brought up early on and then... he’s strangely absent from the rest of the film. Dare I hope this gets followed up on in a Lego Justice League sequel? Goodness knows I could use more of Jonah Hill’s loser Hal Jordan in my life!

So THAT’S Where He Gets All Those Wonderful Toys!
The LEGO Batman Movie is excellent!
I think it's better than The LEGO Movie, both because it exists entirely in the LEGO universe and because it doesn't confuse its own message in the final seconds like that one does (SPOILER for The LEGO Movie: if anyone can create, why is the kid’s little sister playing along seen as a horrible intrusion?). In LEGO Batman, almost all the jokes land, they have a great sense of Batman's entire 78-year history and aren't afraid to use it for comedy or drama, there's a ton of heart, and the action is thrilling and nonstop!
Batman (Will Arnett) has more of an emotional arc and more depth here than he has in maybe any live action film. I believe there’s a stealth—and perhaps underdeveloped—arc Bruce Wayne travels through the Bat-films of the 80s-90s, going from brooding loner to unhinged vigilante to healthier superhero and finally to happy family man (to be further explored in a future blog).  LEGO’s Batman covers most of that ground in just one movie, only swapping in “egocentric blowhard” for “unhinged murdering vigilante,” and playing Batman as a stuck-up yet competent fool is a genius choice. It’s also a breath of fresh air to see a Batman who enjoys being Batman again! The last time onscreen was probably Batman Begins, and it’s been far too long. Arnett’s Batman both wows the audience with his derring-do and lets us laugh at him because he’s such an idiot. Of course, this also provides him a strong emotional arc through the film as he learns how to work with others and build a family again. "Why does Batman need Robin?" is clearly explored for the first time on film too, since Batman Forever mostly focused on why Robin needs Batman (to keep him from travelling a darker path in life). Adding the aspect of just sincerely wanting a father/to be loved again to Robin's "laughing daredevil" original personality made him a great foil for Bruce, and gave Michael Cera once of his best roles yet. Batman’s father/son relationship with Alfred (Ralph Fiennes) has been well-covered in the movies and cartoons, and that’s no different here. They used the Batman Beyond take on Barbara Gordon/Batgirl (Rosario Dawson) here (she takes over for her father as Commissioner), and while I'm not a fan of the romantic Barbara/Bruce relationship that keeps popping up lately, I'm glad they didn't take it beyond Bruce being smitten with her. Barbara's traditional "becomes Batgirl when everyone else says she can't" isn't really here, except that Batman doesn't want to work with her (or anyone else) at first. That's a shame: her determination to help despite any obstacle, be it her dad, Batman, or even paralysis is a big part of what makes Babs cool, IMO. Still, she's got all the agency in the world, is smart and capable, serves an important function in the plot and counter-point to Bruce, and is a great role model, so ultimately I'm cool with their depiction. It may not be the classic version, but it works for this world. Joker (Zach Galifianakis) has a great arc and his “relationship” with Batman is explored more than in any of his film appearances, which generally boil down to Joker laughing and needling Batman about them being two sides of the same coin. Here, he’s actually, clearly hurt that the battle with Batman doesn’t mean as much to Bats as it does to him. Giving Joker dimension beyond “rampaging murder-machine/agent of chaos” is something that’s been sorely missed for a while. To the movie’s credit, I've been pretty burned out on both Joker and Batman for a while now, so the fact that this breathed new life into both of them is a major win. I do wish the rest of Batman’s villains had gotten a little more of the spotlight—for example, Billy Dee Williams finally gets to play Two-Face, and only has about three lines—but it doesn't hurt the movie that they're just glorified cameos. It would’ve been fun to showcase each of their unique skills and personalities instead of treating them as old news to Batman, though…maybe if this were the first time that everyone teamed up, it would’ve provided that opportunity. It also a little surprising that big villains like Ra’s Al Ghul, Talia, and Hush didn’t get to play too. Tom Hardy’s Bane annoyed me, so I loved Doug Benson poking fun at his accent here.
The Justice League also gets a cameo sequence that works perfectly against Batman’s personality and effortlessly expands the LEGO-DC Universe without tying itself up in knots over how all these heroes and villains can exist in the same world. That was a pet peeve of mine from Christopher Nolan’s tenure; how is the world of Batman Begins any different from the world of Action Comics the day before Superman lands on Earth? There doesn’t have to be a big explanation for strangeness appearing in any given world, just an honest reaction (or at least a gung-ho, roll with the punches, “just go with it!” attitude) to the weirdness and the acceptance that change is good and the world won’t be the same again. When LEGO Batman does break the “boundaries” of their reality for references to pop culture and even live-action movie clips, it totally works within the “everything goes” nature of the LEGO-verse.
The entire cast is excellent, the writing is sharp, and the CGI looks seamless. LEGO Batman’s an adventure for all ages that doesn’t talk down to kids, avoid real stakes and danger, or presume that “dark and gritty” automatically makes for superior storytelling. I can’t recommend this enough; definitely go see this! 5/5
Next time, LEGO needs to make Marvel vs. DC happen!

Ep 186: Alfred Gough and Miles Millar
First Draft Episode #184: Alfred Gough and Miles Millar
Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the TV and screenwriting duo behind Smallville and Into the Badlands, join Sarah to talk about their debut thriller, Double Exposure. The guys talk about how, even after writing and/or producing more than 300 hours of television and movies, they are still engaged in learning and improving their craft; getting on the superhero train WAY before the MCU; and delivering a satisfying ending in books.
Links and Topics Mentioned In This Episode
Bugs, a BBC One TV show created by UK-based Carnival Films (Agatha Christie’s Poirot; Downton Abbey; many others)  for which Al and Miles wrote two episodes
The Hardy Boys series of children’s mysteries created by Edward Stratemeyer (who also created Nancy Drew)  and written by ghostwriters under the pen name Franklin W. Dixon
The Peter Stark Producer program at USC, where Alfred and Miles met and learned all aspects of the film industry
Laura Ziskin, producer of No Way Out, and Pretty Woman, who was an influential teacher at the USC film production program to Al and Miles
William Goldman, an author (Adventures in the Screen Trade, The Princess Bride, many, many others) and screenwriter (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid; All the President’s Men, among many others) renowned for writing scripts that entertained the reader -- a trend followed by screenwriters Shane Black (Lethal Weapon; The Last Boy Scout) and Joe Eszterhas (Flashdance; Basic Instinct)
John August, Al and Miles’ classmate at USC and screenwriter of Big Fish, Frankenweenie, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, as well as author of the Arlo Finch middle grade series (listen to his First Draft interview here)
Mango, the spec script that Al and Miles sold right out of film school
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, the movie that made Al and Miles’ spec script a hot commodity out of film school
Scriptnotes, the podcast co-hosted by John August and fellow screenwriter Craig Mazin, which is a worthy companion podcast to any writers who enjoy First Draft!
Bugs, a BBC One TV show created by UK-based Carnival Films (Agatha Christie’s Poirot; Downton Abbey; many others)  for which Al and Miles wrote two episodes
Homicide: Life on the Street, a police drama based on the work of David Simon (The Wire; Treme; The Deuce)
3rd Rock From the Sun, a sitcom in the 90s starring John Lithgow and Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Lethal Weapon IV and Shanghai Noon, the two buddy comedy scripts that Al and Miles wrote before Smallville
The WB, Smallville’s network (RIP)
Lois and Clark, the TV show about Superman that predated Smallville
X-Men, the 2000 movie that helped bring about the superhero resurgence on film and TV
Christopher Nolan, the writer and director who rebranded Batman in the well-regarded Dark Knight trilogy of films
Thor: Ragnarok and Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse, two recent superhero movies with tons of comedy
Spider-Man II, Al and Miles’ take on Spider-Man, which was a little more serious than the Spider-Man we know today
Jenette Kahn, executive, publisher, editor-in-chief of DC Comics when Al and Miles created their spin on the Superman universe with Smallville
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Dawson’s Creek, some of the teen stories that dominated TV when Smallville debuted
I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore (the pen name of James Frey, Jobie Hughes, and Greg Boose), and the film of the same name written by Al and Miles, and their first collaboration with James Frey (author of A Million Little Pieces and book entrepreneur with Full Fathom Five)
Hannah Montana: The Movie, which Al and Miles produced, thanks to Al’s oldest daughter, who was obsessed with that TV show
Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Donnie Yen, and Michelle Yeoh are among the internationally respected martial artists and actors Al and Miles have worked with
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and House of Flying Daggers are some of the epic movies that inspired Al and Miles for the world of Into the Badlands
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown as a model for the franchise character with a little-known job that leads to globe-trotting adventures--the kind of story Al and Miles were interested in telling with Double Exposure
The famous transcript of Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, and Lawrence Kasdan talking about Raiders of the Lost Ark
