The Raft.
That’s where they sent you after they arrested you in Germany. The fucking Raft.
You haven’t even seen Wanda since you were handed your very unstylish new clothes and they made you change.
You got separated from her when they took you to your cell between Scott's and Sam's. You dread what they're going to do to her, but you're powerless to stop them.
You sit on the ground of your cell and don’t move from there, barely registering what happens around you until the sound of clapping snaps you out of your trance.
“The Futurist, gentlemen!” Clint shouts but you still don’t move, just listening to the scene. “The Futurist is here! He sees all! He knows what's best for you, whether you like it or not.”
“Give me a break, Barton.” You hear Tony say and almost show some emotion, but stop yourself. “I had no idea they'd put you here. Come on.”
You hear Clint spit and then say “Yeah, well, you knew they'd put us somewhere, Tony.”
“Yeah, but not some super-max floating ocean pokey. You know, this place is for maniacs. This is a place for…”
“Criminals?” Clint interrupts him. “Criminals, Tony. Think that's the word you're looking for. Right? That didn't used to mean me. Or Sam, or Y/N, or Wanda. But here we are.”
“Because you broke the law.” Tony says.
“Yeah.” Clint says back and starts chanting “La la la la la” while Tony talks, making you grin slightly.
“I didn't make you. You read it, you broke it.” Tony keeps talking. “Alright, you're all grown up, you got a wife and kids. I don't understand, why didn't you think about them before you chose the wrong side.” he says and your face falls again immediately, knowing Tony went too far.
“You gotta watch your back with this guy.” Clint says before slamming his hands on the bars angrily. “There's a chance he's gonna break it!”
“Hank Pym always said, you never can trust a Stark.” You hear Scott say from the cell on your right.
“Who are you?” Tony says, his voice closer to you than before, and you can hear Scott mumbling “Come on, man.”
Tony gets to your cell and sees you sitting on the ground, hugging your knees tight to your chest, your head resting back on the wall while you look straight ahead.
Tony is nothing short of shocked when he sees your face all beat up and bruised, your arm bandaged with blood seeping through it showing just how big and deep the cut is, all courtesy of Ayo.
“I never wanted to see you like this...” Tony says softly but you don’t even react to his words.
He’s standing in front of you but it’s like he’s not even there, like you’re looking right through him to something more interesting behind him.
Tony sighs and shakes his head before moving to Sam’s cell.
“How's Rhodes?” Sam asks right away.
“They're flying him to Columbia Medical tomorrow. So… fingers cross.” Tony answers and you close your eyes, grateful that he’s still alive at least. “What do you need? They feed you yet?”
“You're the good cop now?” Sam asks almost in disbelief.
“I'm just the guy who needs to know where Steve went.” Tony answers calmly.
“Well, you better go get a bad cop, because you're gonna have to go Mark Fuhrman on my ass to get information out of me.”
“Oh, I just knocked the 'A' out of their 'AV'.” Tony says, much too playfully for your taste. “We got about 30 seconds before they realize it's not their equipment.”
You furrow your eyebrows at his next sentence. “Just look. Because that is the fellow who was supposed to interrogate Barnes. Clearly, I made a mistake. Sam, I was wrong.”
Your eyes snap open at his apology and, even though you can’t see either of them, you know Sam’s feeling the same way as you, which is confirmed by his next sentence. “That's a first.”
“Cap is definitely off the reservation but he's about to need all the help he can get. We don't know each other very well. You don't have to-”
“Hey, it's alright.” Sam interrupts him, then you hear him sigh and after a little pause he says “Look, I'll tell you… but you have to go alone and as a friend.”
“Easy.” Tony says and Sam proceeds to tell him all about the Hydra base in Siberia and the other supersoldiers.
When Tony leaves, Sam once again tries to make sure you’re okay even if he hasn’t had luck at getting an answer out of you since you got here.
He knocks twice on the wall between you two then pauses and then knocks three more times fast before talking, a thing you two started doing since you both moved into the Avengers Compound so you would know it was the other knocking right away. “Are you okay?”
You don’t answer him and can hear him sighing before continuing talking.
“Look, I’m sorry you got caught up in this and-”
“I don’t regret the choice I made, Sam.” You interrupt him before he can finish his sentence, speaking up for the first time since you got arrested at the airport. “As much as this sucks, it was the right thing to do. I know it was.”
You don’t say anything else. Sam can tell you mean it and he knows better than to push you.
“They’ll be okay.” He says after a moment of silence and then lets you be.
You know he means Steve, Bucky and Tony but you can’t help but think he’s trying to reassure you that Bucky’s gonna be fine.
And you can only hope that he’s right.
-
A couple of weeks after Tony’s visit there’s a commotion in the prison.
You haven’t so much as made a sound since that day, aside from your daily knock on the wall between you and Sam so he can make sure you’re okay, knowing you well enough to know you don’t want to talk but still wanting to check in.
But you can’t help but let out a loud gasp when you see Steve just standing in front of your cells.
You look around when the cell doors open and you hesitantly get up from the floor and walk towards Steve. He hugs Sam, then you, then Clint and then pats Scott on the back, but doesn’t linger long before he’s guiding you towards another level where Wanda is.
You get to her just as the door to her cell opens and you rush inside with Clint to take off her collar while he takes off her straightjacket. You hug her tightly and wrap your arm around her with Clint to help her move you since she looks a little worse for wear.
You manage to move through the prison without problems. You have to hand it to Steve, he’s a hell of a criminal.
When you get to the landing pad you see the Quinjet ready for take off and you all rush inside just to see Bucky at the commands and you smile brightly at the sight.
You have no time to comment, though, as Sam shouts “What are you waiting for?! Go!”
Bucky rolls his eyes but calmly says “We have one more coming.”
You frown. One more? You turn to Steve confusedly but before you can ask anything you can see blond hair darting into the Quinjet and then Natasha’s there.
Bucky instantly takes off and you all take seats and buckle up.
There’s a moment of silence while everyone processes what just happened, but you break it while looking at Natasha that’s sitting directly in front of you.
“Are we gonna talk about the hair?” You ask arching your eyebrow with a smirk.
She groans in annoyance and you can hear the others chuckling while she says “We are not.”
-
After a few hours you all get to a safehouse and Steve ushers you in before showing you around.
It’s not bad: a secluded cabin with three bedrooms, not too big but Steve assured you you wouldn’t be staying there long anyway. Which makes sense, you're on the run now so this is just temporary.
After the tour Bucky approaches you in the living room and only then you notice he’s missing his metal arm.
“You flew the jet with only one arm? That’s impressive…” You can’t help yourself as you reach to touch his left shoulder, your eyes fixated on it. But stop on your tracks when you feel his right hand carefully cupping your cheek.
Your eyes snap up to his and you can see him thoroughly inspecting the wounds in your face that are still healing a little. He grimaces when he looks down at your bandaged arm and whispers “I’m sorry…”
“It’s nothing I can’t handle, Sergeant.” You smile softly at him and put your hand over his still on your cheek, trying to reassure him that you’re fine.
“I bet you can, doll.” He chuckles.
You’re too busy staring at each other to notice everyone’s attention is on you until Steve clears his throat with an apologetic look on his face.
“We need to go, Buck.” He says and you look confusedly between the two men.
“I’m going back into cryo.” Bucky clarifies for you.
“Oh.” Is all you can say and your eyes widen for a second before you force yourself to put on a more neutral face.
“It’s okay.” He smiles at you, but you feel like he’s trying to convince himself as much as you. “It’s nothing I can’t handle, doll.”
You try your best to smile and not look too bummed out. “I bet you can, Sergeant.”
You hesitate for a moment before surprising him, the others and even yourself by giving him a hug. He hesitates too before delicately hugging you back and, after a moment, you pull away.
He smiles at you with a faint blush and you smile back, watching him walk to the door.
Steve passes you on his way to the door and kisses your forehead, whispering “He’ll be okay” before saying goodbye to the rest of the team, assuring you that he’ll be back soon. Then he also goes through the door and soon both the supersoldiers are gone.
You turn around with a sigh and see Sam, Natasha and Clint standing there, grinning at you, Wanda and Scott looking more compassionate than teasing.
You narrow your eyes at the first three and say sternly “Not. A. Word.” punctuating every word by pointing threateningly at each of them.
They raise their hands in mock surrender while snickering but thankfully don’t say anything and everyone just scatters around the safehouse.
You see the Quinjet depart from the window and try your best to look at the bright side: This isn’t forever, you’ll see him again.
Right?

Let's Talk About That Chapter 4
Warnings: talks of mental health (PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks), mentions of death/dying, anger issues, angst and fluff
Word count: 1,969
A/N: listen I love rewatching Marvel movies but having to watch civil war and pause every 5 seconds for the accords scenes killed me, but it would have bothered me if the lines weren't accurate so here you go.
Tumblr media
May 19th 2016
You were in your office when Natasha came round telling you that you had to go to the meeting room. The secretary of state was here to talk with the Avengers. You knew this couldn't be good, but you got up with your laptop in hand just in case you needed it.
All of you sat around the meeting room while Secretary Ross spoke, "The world owes the Avengers an unpayable debt. You have fought for us, protected us, risked your lives, but while a great many people see you as heroes there are some who would prefer the word 'Vigilantes'." Your grip on Wanda's thigh tightens and her hand goes over yours. Trying not to cause a scene, but you must have squeezed a little too tightly. You release it completely, balling and unballing your fist.
"And what word would you use, Mr. Secretary?" Natasha asks.
"How about dangerous?" He replies. "What would you call a group of U.S. based enhanced individuals who routinely ignore sovereign borders and inflict their will wherever they choose and who frankly seem unconcerned with what they leave behind." Ross speaks freely, but you interject.
"Excuse me Sir, but if you'd have gone over my notes thoroughly about everyone's after mission session when things go good and when things go not great there is in fact a difference in their psyches. This team though we are enhanced individuals still have emotions and feelings. We still care about others and it's the exact reason we do what we do. Just because the world doesn't see them break down. I do." You stand up. "Tony has severe anxiety and suffers from panic attacks when things go wrong. Steve and Natasha have PTSD. Wanda," you look at her and she nods, " thinks every goddamn day about how she could have done better in Lagos. If she had been able to hold on a second longer than no one would have gotten hurt that day. Those lives every one of them rests on her mind." You tell him though he doesn't seem to care much as he shows a video, you sit back down, moving closer to Wanda and she holds your hand, your fingers intertwining.
"New York, Washington D.C." He's showing the group's past failures as you look over at Steve and Natasha, watching their faces pale as both try to stay in the moment. "Sokovia." The battle for Sokovia from Ultron, the one you missed. You feel her hand squeeze yours as you move your other hand to her thigh to try and soothe her, "Lagos." The footage starts playing of the building that got caught in the blast Wanda had tried to contain. The close up of a dead girl in the ruble is shown and you can feel her shift as you pull her against your chest and whisper,
"Don't look. I've got you."
"Alright that's enough." Steve calls out. I mouth a thank you to him as I let Wanda go once the footage stops.
"Good to know we'll need a group therapy session after this." You say flatly. As you turn back to the front of the room.
"For the past four years you've operated with unlimited power and no supervision. That's an arrangement the governments of the world can no longer tolerate, but I think we have a solution." He hands over a binder to you.
"The Sokovia Accords?" You ask, thumbing through it with Wanda.
"Approved by 117 Countries. It states that the Avengers shall no longer be a private organization. Instead you'll operate under the supervision of the United Nations panel. Only when and if that panel deems it necessary." Ross informs you all.
"The Avengers were formed to make the world a safer place. I feel we've done that." Steve interjects.
"Tell me Captain, do you know where Thor and Banner are right now? If I misplaced a couple of mega 30 ton nukes you can bet there would be consequences. Compromise, reassurance, that's how the world works. Believe me, this is the middle ground." Ross states.
"So," Rhodey starts. "There are contingencies?"
"Three days from now the U.N. meets in Vienna to ratify the accords." Ross tells us and you see Steve finally acknowledge Tony sitting in the corner away from the rest of us. "Talk it over."
"And if we come to a decision you don't like?" Natasha asks. Ross stops his exit from the room.
"Then you retire." Ross answers.
"Sir. I'm 19." You remind him
"Good thing you went to college already. Whole life ahead of you unlike the rest of your team." He says and you've never wanted to break someone's neck more and once he and his men leave the room, you hand your laptop to Wanda and have everyone back up from the table as you slam my fist into it, reducing it to rubble.
"You're paying for that." Tony mentions.
"You pay me. So you're paying for that." You remind him and you're lucky it wasn't his face." You say taking your laptop back from Wanda. "Thank you sweet girl."
As the tension in the room simmered and Secretary Ross exited, leaving the group to grapple with the weight of his ultimatum, a heavy silence settled over you. You could feel the collective unease radiating from your teammates, each grappling with their own thoughts and emotions in the wake of his proposition. The mix of all the feelings makes you nauseous.
Turning to face your fellow Avengers, you could see the turmoil etched on their faces, the weight of Ross's words bearing down upon us like a crushing weight. But amidst the uncertainty and fear, there was also a glimmer of determination in their eyes, a silent vow to stand together in the face of adversity.
"We need to talk," Steve's voice cut through the silence, his gaze sweeping across the room as he addressed each of you in turn. "This isn't a decision to be made lightly. We need to weigh the consequences, consider our options, and come to a consensus as a team."
You nodded in agreement, your mind already racing with the implications of Ross's proposal. The Sokovia Accords represented a fundamental shift in the way the Avengers would operate, a relinquishing of your autonomy in exchange for the illusion of oversight. But at what cost? Would you be forced to compromise your principles, to bend to the will of bureaucrats and politicians who viewed you as nothing more than tools to be wielded at their whim?
As the group dispersed from the meeting room, each lost in your own thoughts, you felt Wanda's hand slip into yours, her touch a comforting anchor amidst the storm of uncertainty that raged within you currently. With her by your side, you knew that whatever decision we ultimately made, you would face it together, united in your commitment to stand up for what you believed in, no matter the consequences. And as you retreated to the solace of our shared quarters, you knew that your journey was far from over, that the road ahead would be fraught with challenges and trials, but that so long as you faced them together, you would emerge stronger, more resilient, than ever before.
===========================================================
As the team goes back and forth arguing sides of right and wrong and if things are better in your hands or in the U.N. Wanda speaks up, "You're saying they'll come for me." Before you can speak, Vision does beside you after you had nudged your way in when he tried to sit next to Wanda, "We would protect you."
"They'll come for me too. Wanda was given powers by the mind stone." You flick it on Vision's forehead, he flinches a bit, but you know it doesn't hurt, not like your own, "But this stone in my chest is a ticking time bomb. Something I've never told you guys is I have never once used 100% of my power. I had talked with Thor who knew about the stones." You gently touch your purple stone, reacting to your touch with a soft glow. "This stone in the past was held and wielded by Celestials, Gods in their own rights, used to decimate worlds." You look around the room. Faces of various degrees of worried or scared or nervous. "If I were to lose control...there's a possibility there won't be an Earth anymore. I know how dangerous I am with this stone, but much like Tony's arc reactor, If we extract this from me. I'm going to die. Last time Bruce did a check up for me...the stone...the stone is wrapped around my heart and lungs. Bruce and I did some tests of moving the stone around and we came to the conclusion it's more than likely to make my lungs collapse and my heart stop if it's pulled out." You look down, unable to look at any of them. "If they take me it might be for the better, but no matter what. I want to keep fighting and keep helping. If I sign that...I'm signing over to my own arrest basically."
"Well it sounds like that might be a good thing." Tony states.
"Fuck you Tony! I've only ever wanted to help people! I never want to hurt or kill people! I'd rather just go live my life as a psychiatrist! Work a normal day and come home to a nice home cooked meal, but I can't just do that! You brought me into this world. Now if you want me to stand down, I guess you'll have to take me out." You state before leaving. You hear Wanda follow behind you, catching up as she holds your hand and arm.
"That is probably the scariest couple with the powers they possess." You hear Tony say just before the two of you get out of hearing range.
As you two left the heated discussion behind, Wanda's hand in yours providing a grounding reassurance, a silent acknowledgment of the challenges you faced together. The weight of the impending decision pressed down on your shoulders, each step echoing the tumultuous thoughts swirling in your mind.
The two of you found solace in a quiet corner of the compound, away from the prying eyes and the cacophony of conflicting opinions. The moon cast a gentle glow over you as you turned to face Wanda, her eyes reflecting a mix of concern and determination.
"I can't believe they'd even suggest something like this," Wanda murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. "To turn against our own, to put us in a position where we have to choose between our principles and our freedom."
"They're scared," you replied, gently squeezing her hand. "Scared of what we can do, scared of the power we wield. But we can't let fear dictate our choices. We need to stand up for what we believe is right, even if it means going against those we once called allies."
Wanda nodded, a quiet resolve settling over her features. "I won't let them take you, Y/N. No matter what they decide. We'll find a way to navigate through this mess together."
A mixture of gratitude and warmth enveloped you as you leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "And I won't let them take you either. We'll face whatever comes our way, side by side."
As the night stretched before you, uncertainty lingering in the air, the two of you stood united against the challenges that awaited you. The Avengers, once a symbol of unity, found themselves at a crossroads, and the choices we made in the days to come would shape the course of our future, both as individuals and as a team.

Bucky was pacing the floor of your bedroom. You were sat on the bed, knees clutched to your chest watching him. It was 4am and Bucky hadn't sat down since Steve came by to tell him the news. After you had left The Roxy, Steve and the others were going to follow but got held up some over enthusiastic party goers. In the mess of people, Natasha disappeared and never checked back in.
You were doing your best to keep yourself together. Natasha was a smart woman and she no doubt could handle herself but you couldn't stop your mind from going to the worst outcome. Bucky slamming his fists against the granite countertop in the bathroom brought you back from your thoughts.
"Fuck!" He shouted, startling you.
"Babe." You called softly, him breaking the sink wouldn't do Natasha any good. He ignored you, but you could see his broad back rising and falling as he breathed. You stood up and slipped your robe on before walking over to him.
"Babe." You said again, placing your hands gently upon his shoulders. He softened at your touch and loosened his grip on the countertop.
"It's my fault." He sighed. You shook your head,
"No. No, it's not your fault." You denied. He turned to look at you, his face riddled with worry.
"Yes, it is. Somehow, he caught on to my plan or he knew what Natasha was to me and-"
"James, stop." You held his face in your hands. "It is not your fault. We'll find her." You stated. He brought his hand up to rest on yours as you continued to hold his face. He kissed your palm and moved to rest his forehead against yours.
"You should go back to bed." He sighed.
"Not without you. Losing sleep isn't going to help find her either." Bucky nodded reluctantly and followed you back to the mattress. Neither of you got much sleep and when you awoke you found Bucky in the living room pouring over a table full of files and papers. Steve and Sam were there as well, Logan and Clint were on their way.
"This was everything Tasha had on Stark. He must've known she was a threat and that's why she-" Steve stopped himself. Bucky sat down on the off white couch, he was still in his bathrobe from this morning. Elbows on his knees he placed his head in his hands. You hurried yourself to get out of bed and get decent before you joined the others. Had no one else been here you would’ve flung yourself onto him and hoped the closeness would help take some of the burden away. But Nat needed you just as much as Bucky did and you were going to find her whatever it took.
“She found his rabbit hole and his right hand man Rhodey.” Sam spoke up. “That should be enough for us to go on. I can get Logan and Clint to help get this man to talk.”
You walked in the room and Sam and Steve both turned to you, somber smiles on their faces as you went to sit beside Bucky. He looked up, taking his hands from his face as you rubbed comforting circles on his back.
“Heres what were gonna do.” He started, scooting forward on the couch so he could be closer to the pool on info Nat had acquired. “Sam, you take Clint to track down this Rhodey, guy. Whatever you gotta do to do it, do it. Just try to keep it discreet.” Bucky looked over to Steve,
“You are gonna meet me at the warehouse with everything we need to get this pig to squeal. And I mean everything.”
You realized that really only left Logan and you without something to do and your stomach dropped as Bucky turned to you,
“No.” You shook your head. “No!”
“Babe, I need you safe and Logan is-
“No! You promised me you wouldn’t leave my side!” You shouted, Steve and Sam averted their gazes.
“I know but I can’t have you go missing too, alright? Logan can keep you safe I trust that man with my own life.” Bucky cupped your face in his hands.
“I don’t care about that, I wanna help find Nat! She’s my friend too and you swore you wouldn’t do this to me!” You stood up, hovering over him.
“Y/N, please. I’m trying my best here, alright. I can’t lose you too!”
“What about you, huh? I can’t lose you either.” You retorted and Bucky let out a sigh.
“Fine, we’ll figure something out.” He conceded and you sat back down. He placed a kiss on the top of your head and focused back on Steve and Sam and how they intended to find Rhodey.
FOUR HOURS LATER
Logan and Clint had arrived and Bucky sent Sam and Clint out to find Rhodey. Steve left before they arrived to set up the warehouse as Bucky requested. Bucky had since changed from his bathrobe into a maroon suit. It was just Logan, Bucky and yourself in the penthouse. He was much larger than you had last remembered, then again the last time you saw him was so brief you hadn’t really gotten a good look. Bucky and Logan went out on the balcony to talk while you stayed inside, thinking about nothing but how Natasha was doing. Was she ok? Was she alive? Part of you wished you hadn’t convinced Bucky to leave early that night. If you hadn’t than maybe she wouldn’t have gotten kidnapped.
There was a knock at the door and you stood up from the couch, waiting for Bucky to come back in to open it. A moment passed and a note slipped underneath the door, fear started creeping up your spine as you walked towards it. Bucky was still on the balcony, he must not have heard the knock. Carefully you picked it up, looking up at Bucky once before deciding to open it yourself.
Dear Mr. Barnes,
I know what you were planning to do with Rhodey, your men were intercepted. Don’t worry, everyone remains unharmed including that lovely red head. I’d love to keep it that way unless you prove difficult. Meet me at the old abandoned disco at 9:00 and lets talk. And bring that gorgeous girl of yours too, man she is quite the beauty. Till then,
T. Stark
“Whats that?” Bucky’s voice startled you and with a shaking hand you handed the note to him. Logan came to stand beside him watching intently. Bucky crumpled the note without a sound.
“We’ve been compromised.” Logan said it more as a knowing statement than a question.
Tumblr media
“He intercepted Sam and Clint.” Bucky’s voice was low and you knew he was doing his best to keep his anger in check. Logan took in a breath, his hands on his thick leather belt. Bucky ran a hand through his hair and gave Logan a subtle nod. You looked between the two men for a moment before you were swept up by Logan. Throwing you over his shoulder as you squirmed and writhed, you watched Bucky holster his pistol on his hip. Logan was leading you towards the bedroom where he tossed you onto the bed,
“Bucky you bastard! You bastard!” You shouted as Logan locked you inside. You slammed your hands on the doors, still shouting at him.
“I’m sorry, doll. I love you.” Bucky whispered through the crack of the door to you and you let out a whimper,
“Bastard.”
You let your body slide against the door till you landed on the floor, bringing your knees to your chest as you cried.
“Keep her safe, no matter what.” You heard him tell Logan before he left and you filled with anger again. Through teary eyes you looked over to the left at the window. Wiping your face on your arm, you stood and walked towards it. Looking down at the city below and the drain pipe that so conveniently led all the way down.

I Lost My Phone! (Avengers x Reader)
So due to all of the birthday posts celebrating Steve, I realized that on my school-induced Tumblr hiatus, I missed a shit-ton of birthdays between Bucky’s and Steve’s. So there’s gonna be a ton of birthday posts coming for the MCU characters that I can find birthdays for. In the meantime, enjoy this fic that’s taken me months to write and find inspiration for.
Warnings: slight Sam x Reader, my taste in music (that deserves its own warning any day), reader being called just about every nickname I could think of, swearing.
Word Count: 3950
Summary: Reader’s ADHD causes her to lose her phone a lot, when the Avengers find out she has specialized ringtones for all of them, they’re obsessed with finding out what they all are.
For an Avenger, you were actually pretty young. You were older than Peter, but still younger than Wanda and Pietro. You were close with all three of them, and you all loved to make references that confused the fuck out of everyone else. You also had ADHD, which meant lots of things. For you, it meant that something specific, like a bobby pin from 3 years ago, was fresh in your mind. Your top left desk drawer, underneath the colouring books, to be exact. But, you were always fidgeting with something; your ring, a pen, tapping your fingers, and literally anything you could get your hands on. You spaced out a lot, so you would fidget with a pen during meetings so you could actually pay attention. Also, you had this terrible habit of losing everything that wasn’t specific; your phone, wallet, keys were left everywhere around the compound.
You were sitting in the lab one day, fidgeting with a brain puzzle Tony had left on his lab bench while he was upgrading something into your suit. “Kiddo?” He asked, “Peter just texted me that he texted you hours ago and you still haven’t responded. He wants to know if you’re mad at him, and if you’re still on for that late lunch picnic.”
“Oh, would you let him know that I’m not mad at him and that I’ll get all the stuff for the picnic if he’s willing to swing us to where we’re going?” You responded.
“Sure, I can do that,” Tony replied, drafting his response to Peter. “Why haven’t you responded to him?”
You laughed. “I have no idea where my phone is, Mr. Stark. I haven’t seen it in hours, and I have no clue where I left it.”
Tony laughed too, having done the same thing many times over the years, though you did it far more often than he ever did. “I’ll just call you then, it’ll help. Unless your phone’s on vibrate?”
“No, it’s not on vibr- wait, don’t call me!” You exclaimed, but it was too late. Who’s Your Daddy by Toby Keith started playing from upstairs, and you ran up to the kitchen where you found your phone ringing on the counter.
Clint and Natasha were sitting at the counter, drinking yet another coffee. “Why is that your ringtone for Tony?” She asked.
“I, uh- it’s- I-” You stumbled over your words, turning your phone off, blushing as Tony came up the stairs behind you.
“Why is that your ringtone for me, kiddo?” He asked, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. You could easily escape if you wanted to, but it was his way of letting you know that he actually wanted an answer.
“My dad was shitty, my parents sold me into HYDRA as soon as my powers manifested, and when you guys got me out.. I just kinda.. y’know.” You said, hiding your head in your hands.
Clint rubbed your arm softly, “Hey, don’t forget about that picnic with Peter.”
“Oh, shit! He’ll be here any minute! I have to pack the food!” You scrambled around the kitchen, your gravitational powers making everything around you float as you did, and you didn’t even notice Tony slip your phone into your back pocket, just so you wouldn’t forget it again.
There was a knock in the kitchen doorway, and you turned to see Peter. “Y/N/N!”
“Peter!” You ran over to wrap him in a hug.
“You didn’t have your phone, did you?”
“Had no idea where it was. Mr. Stark had to call me.” You said, nuzzling into his chest.
Peter chuckled, “So I guess they know what your ringtone is now?” You blushed and pressed yourself further into his chest, wanting to disappear. “Do they know what it is for me?” He asked. You shook your head and tried to stop him from pulling his phone out, but he called you anyways.
You grabbed his hand and started leaving with the food as the Spiderman theme song started playing in your pocket. You turned it off and called behind you. “Goodbye Mr. Barton, Ms. Romanoff, Mr. Dad!”
“What did she just say?” You heard Tony ask as the doors shut behind the both of you.
“What did I do?” You asked while Peter was swinging you to a spot you had deemed as the ‘Kids Room’. Only Peter, Wanda, Pietro, and you were allowed in, and it was just a treehouse that Tony had built in the woods that surrounded the Compound. But it was fun not letting any of the other Avengers in.
“You called Mr. Stark something you probably didn’t mean to.”
“Peter, what did I say?”
“You called him ‘Mr. Dad.’” Peter explained, you groaned, hiding your face in his neck.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next time you couldn’t find your phone was actually the next day in the gym. Tony had designed you special wireless headphones that would work up to a mile away from your actual phone. Meaning that your phone could be anywhere in the Compound, and while listening to your music, you would have no idea. You had come back last night from your outing with Peter, and got him to swing you directly up to your bedroom so you didn’t have to run into anyone else, before kissing his cheek and telling him good night. You didn’t have feelings for him, it was just something you two always did.
“Captain Rogers!” You called from your place on top of the gymnastics bars, “Have you seen my phone anywhere? I can’t remember where I left it.”
Steve shook his head in response, “I’m sorry, kiddo, I haven’t. Do you want me to call it for you?” He asked, pulling his phone out already.
“Yeah, that might be a good idea- wait.” You dropped off the bars as soon as you heard the first bar of Ice Ice Baby. “Shit!” You exclaimed, running towards the noise.
“Language!” Steve called, following you. His super-soldier hearing was sure to hear what his ringtone was.
You pulled open the cabinet with the mugs, where you had left your phone this morning after pouring your coffee, and declined the call. “Thanks, Captain.” You muttered, walking off to take your post-training shower.
“I’m starting to think she does this on purpose,” Clint said, poking his head out of the vents.
“What do you mean?” Steve asked in response.
“Just yesterday Y/N forgot where her phone was while Peter was trying to get a hold of her, and Tony had to call her phone. It was sitting on the counter. At least she has a good sense of humour. I wonder what her ringtone is for me..” He wondered thoughtfully.
“What was her ringtone for Tony?” Steve always had more questions.
“Some country song called Who’s Your Daddy. Y/N evidently sees Stark as a father figure, she even called him Mr. Dad by accident yesterday as she was leaving for her picnic with Peter.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was only a few hours later when you couldn’t find your phone yet again. “I’m starting to wonder if someone’s just moving it when I’m not paying attention.” You said, patting your pockets as you walked into the kitchen where Clint was pouring yet another cup of coffee.
“What’s wrong, kiddo?” He asked.
“I can’t find my phone, again!” You exclaimed. “It’s the second time today that it hasn’t been exactly where I thought it was!”
Clint chuckled, “Where did you think you left it this time?”
“My pocket.” You deadpanned, subtly looking behind him to see if he had hidden it from you so he could find out what his ringtone was.
“Should I call you?”
“I wouldn’t. I’ll find it in a few minutes, don’t worry about it.” It was at that moment that you heard Men in Tights from Robin Hood coming from in between the couch cushions.
You dove towards the couch, but Clint, being taller and stronger, beat you there. “Really? This is my ringtone?”
“Robin Hood’s an archer!” You defended yourself, reaching across him for your phone to turn it off.
Nat walked in at that moment, and started chuckling at the position the two of you were in. “So, sexual tension with people other than your wife, Barton?”
“Nat, he took my phone.” You whined, unable to reach it without physically climbing him.
“Clint, give Y/N her phone back. Y/N, stop getting mad that people are finding out what your ringtones for them are. You have an excellent sense of humor, and nobody has been mad about their ringtone yet.”
“You guys are keeping a list, aren’t you?” You grimaced.
Clint and Natasha both laughed, “And keeping track of who laughs at which one.” He added.
“Ouch.” You said softly, putting your phone back in your pocket and heading back into the kitchen. “What’s for dinner?”
“Nobody’s really sure yet. What do you want?” Nat replied.
“If there’s one thing I learned from my missions with HYDRA, it was how to make a mean mac n’ cheese.” You said, pulling the ingredients out of the cupboards.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you woke up the next morning, it was to someone banging on your door. “Y/N! Training! You’re late!”
You groaned, rolling towards the noise and off the edge of your bed. “Fuck!” You exclaimed, having hit your head on the nightstand.
Bucky rushed in, “Y/N, are you alright, doll?” He helped you sit up while you were holding the back of your head.
“I-” You hissed softly, “hit my head. It hurts, Sarge.”
“Yeah, you’ve got a pretty good gash there, kid. Why weren’t you already up?”
“I don’t know where my phone is, it never went off with my alarm. I always leave it plugged in right there.” You explained, pointing to your laptop, which was currently plugged in. “Huh, charged the laptop last night instead?”
“Let me call you, doll. And then we’ll get you down to Helen in the medbay to get you all fixed up, you’re bleeding.”
“Okay, that’s a good plan.” You started to say, “Wait, my ringt-” But it was too late, Rasputin was playing from somewhere under your bed.
Bucky laid down on his stomach to get it for you. “Nice choice, kid.” He said, passing your phone back to you before he picked you up bridal style. “Let’s get you to Helen.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You were able to keep track of your phone for the next three days, but while reading on the couch you realized it had been hours since you had last seen it. “Ms. Romanoff?” You called, knowing she was sitting in the kitchen. “I haven’t seen my phone in hours, have you seen it anywhere?”
“Sorry, sweetie, I haven’t. I can call you?” She pulled her phone out, and as she did you remembered what your ringtone is for her.
“I wouldn’t do-” You started to say until you heard Black Widow by Iggy Azalea playing from the fridge. You stood up and walked over to it, opening the door. “What the fuck is my phone doing in there?”
“You must’ve traded your phone for a YOP drink.” Natasha said, ending the call from her end of the phone. “Hm, Barnes was right, you do have good taste in music.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With Bruce you were always pretty good at keeping your phone handy, which was good, because you didn’t actually have a special ringtone for him, which you guessed made him special in his own right. You just could never think of a song that fit him well enough to be special enough for his ringtone. You spent a little extra time with Bruce to make up for it, plus you figured that whenever you moved your phone, he would make sure that he knew where it was so you wouldn’t lose it. You had a sneaking suspicion that Hulk liked you too, if the way you were able to calm him down was any indication.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was about a week after Natasha had helped you find your phone that you had lost it again. Thor and Loki were back, and while Loki often stayed on Asgard, since Thor insisted he was actually the better king, you enjoyed getting to spend time with both of them. They did both have phones now, since Tony had forced it upon them both last time they were on Earth, so you all would have a means of getting a hold of them, other than praying Heimdall would hear you. They both immediately came to you for help on understanding the Midgardian device. Similar to what Steve and Bucky did with their first phones too, actually.
You had been searching for the last 20 minutes, all over the Compound, and you couldn’t find your phone anywhere. It wasn’t anywhere in your room, your bathroom, you checked all the kitchen cupboards and the fridge, twice; and you had even checked all the furniture in the main living room where you and Loki had been quietly reading that morning after training. Nothing. Your phone was nowhere to be found. You had even poked your head into the lab while Tony and Bruce were gone to see if Peter had seen it. Still no. Your phone was gone. You were just going to have to get a new one and transfer over all of the data. You groaned, flopping down on the couch, data transfers take for-fucking-ever.
“Little angel?” Loki asked. “Is something wrong?”
“I can’t find my phone, as per usual. I’m just gonna go get a new one and do a data transfer, which takes for-fucking-ever to load and it’s annoying as shit.” You flopped your head to look over at him on the other couch, pouting.
“Why don’t you just get someone to call your phone?” He asked. “I can do it if you’d like.”
You sighed, resigned to have left it somewhere stupid yet again. “I guess you’re my last option, Mischief.” Loki pulled his phone out of his pocket and tapped on your contact, calling you. bad guy by Billie Eilish started playing from down the hall, in the training room. You ran towards the noise, picking your phone up once you got there. “Now I remember! I didn’t have pockets in my workout clothes this morning, so I left my phone on the bench. I haven’t needed it, so I didn’t think twice about not having it.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You also didn’t have a ringtone for Rhodey, but he was almost never around, and he never called you anyways. You only had his number in case of emergency, mostly for when Tony was stupidly drunk or if he was fighting with Steve and nobody could get them off of each other.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The morning after Loki had helped you find your phone, you couldn’t find it again. “Nope, I’m not gonna bother, it’ll show up in a few minutes.. or hours..” You mumbled, curling up on the couch with your book.
Three hours later, after finishing your book, going to training, taking a shower, making everyone lunch, and running some errands, you still hadn’t seen your phone anywhere. You retraced your steps throughout the day, pausing momentarily to ask Bruce if you had had it when you stopped in the lab this morning to ask Tony about an upgrade to your suit. Apparently not.
“Lady Y/N?” Thor asked, coming up behind you. “Are you feeling alright? You’ve been running back and forth across the compound looking like a- what’s the saying?”
“A chicken with my head cut off?” You asked, sighing.
“Yes, that’s it!” Thor exclaimed. “Is something wrong?”
“I can’t find my phone, Thor. That’s all. I’m sure it’ll turn up somewhere.”
Thor picked you up and put you on his shoulders. “If I called you, milady, would it help?”
“I suppose..” You told him, using your gravitational powers to float safely back to the ground. Thor pulled his phone out and you heard Thunder by Imagine Dragons playing from the lab downstairs. “But.. I didn’t have it when I was down here this morning? I guess I could’ve left it down here last night and since it’s the weekend none of my alarms would’ve gone off.”
“Oh, crap, Y/N, I am so sorry.” Bruce said, looking up from his computer. “I was cleaning up the lab this morning and I must’ve put some things on top of your phone and then Tony moved them, and-”
“Bruce, if I had really needed it, I would’ve gotten someone to call it for me sooner. My only missed call is from Thor. Trust me, it’s alright.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you couldn’t find your phone again right after dinner, you were starting to worry about yourself. I can’t possibly misplace it this often, you thought to yourself. Somebody has to be moving it when I’m not paying attention so they can find out all my ringtones. Or maybe I really am this forgetful. Should I ask Dr. Cho about upping my meds? Should I go off my meds and see what happens? Should I-
“Y/N/N? You alright, sweetie?” Sam asked, interrupting your train of thought.
You jumped, not having heard his knock on your door. “Oh, Sammy! You scared me! I didn’t hear you come in.”
“It’s alright. You were really lost in thought, huh?”
“Yeah, I was.” You ducked your head, blushing. “Did you need something?”
“I was just coming to check on you. FRIDAY said you were in here pacing.”
“Oh, yeah, I do that when I’m stressed. Sorry.”
“It doesn’t bother me, honey. Why are you stressed?” He asked, sitting on your bed and patting the spot next to him.
“I just feel like somebody has to be taking my phone and hiding it. I can’t possibly misplace it this often, right? I was thinking that I should talk to Dr. Cho about my med dosage since I feel like I’m more disorganized on them than I am off. It’s not even just my phone, other than the bobby pin under the colouring books in my top left desk drawer, I never know where anything is anymore.”
“Okay, so we’ll find your phone and go talk to Helen about your meds. Problem solved.” Sam wrapped an arm around you and pulled out his phone to call you.
You nuzzled into his side and mumbled, “What if I don’t want you to find out what my ringtone for you is?”
He kissed the top of your head. “We’ve all loved your ringtones for us, honey. Do you trust me?”
“Of course I do.” As you said this, Sam clicked the ‘call’ button on your contact and Fly Like A Bird by Nelly Furtado started playing from the hallway. You opened the door and found your phone on the little table next to your door. “Fuck.” You said under your breath.
“Hey,” Sam said, wrapping you in a hug and resting his chin on your head. “That’s hilarious, sweetie. I love it.”
You turned around in his arms and wrapped your own around him, “You’re not mad?”
“Of course not. Now what’s this I hear about Barnes having his hands on my girl last week while I was on a mission?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After fixing your meds up with Sam and Dr. Cho, you were able to keep track of your phone for about 5 days. Sam helped. But, now, you had just finished training with Wanda and Pietro and you had no idea where your phone was. This was especially making you think you were crazy since these workout clothes have pockets. Both front and back. “Sammy! Have you seen my phone?” You asked, poking your head into his apartment.
“Sorry, sweetheart.” He called from under the bathroom sink. “Have you asked Wanda and Pietro? I know you were just training with them.”
“Nope, I came here on my way to them. I’ll see you tonight?”
“Of course you will, it’s movie night.”
“Right, yeah. I forgot. Okay, I’m gonna go find Wanda and Piet, but I’ll see you later.” You said, kissing his forehead and shutting the door behind you. The next thing you knew, you heard Red by Taylor Swift playing from somewhere above you. That was your ringtone for Wanda, she was calling you?
“Up here, sora!” You heard Wanda call from the balcony. Looking up, you saw her waving your phone and you quickly used your gravity powers to float it down to you. “Oh, Y/N/N, you did such a great job controlling your powers!” Wanda shouted, running down the stairs to wrap you in a hug.
Pietro was right behind her, and all of a sudden you were in the middle of a group hug with the twins. “Well, princessa, now that we know what your ringtone for Wanda is, we have to find out what it is for me.”
“Speed, I am speed.” came blaring through your phone speakers in the voice of Owen Wilson, who played Lightning McQueen in the movie Cars. You sighed, dropping your head onto Wanda’s shoulder as you declined Pietro’s call.
“That is the best thing in the world, princessa.” Pietro said, speeding you back to your apartment. “We’ll see you at movie night tonight?”
You nodded, leaning in the doorway. “Of course you will, Speedy. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning, just when you thought you were done with everybody calling you to find out their ringtone, King T’Challa and Princess Shuri showed up.
“Y/N?” Shuri asked, knocking on your door, “Are you awake yet, love?”
You flung your door open, “Yes, I am, but I was looking for my phone before I came out for breakfast.”
“Oh, let me just call you.” Shuri pulled out her phone and called you, and Get Lucky by Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams started playing from down the hallway, in the kitchen.
You walked down the hall, into the kitchen, where everybody was eating breakfast, blushing. “Couldn’t find your phone again, honey?” Sam asked. You nodded, grabbing it out from under your favourite mug.
“How did it even get out here? I had it last night in bed.”
“No you didn’t, you were in here making popcorn and brought your phone with you. You never brought it back, so I just assumed you grabbed it on our way to bed last night.”
“I must not have.” You said, finally remembering to hang up the call to make the song stop.
Natasha wrote something down on her phone, you assumed she was continuing to add to the list of ringtones she was keeping. “Hey, T’Challa, you’re the only one that we don’t know Y/N’s ringtone for, would you mind calling her for us?” Tony asked.
“Of course I can,” T’Challa said, pulling his phone out.
You quickly tapped on your phone, changing T’Challa’s ringtone while you still had a chance. Unfortunately, you weren’t fast enough because The Pink Panther started playing as your phone lit up with a call from the Wakandan King. “Crap.” You mumbled, declining the call.
“Oh, honey.” Sam said, walking over to you and wrapping you in a hug. “Your sense of humour is absolutely the light of our lives. Has anybody disliked what Y/N/N’s ringtone for them was?” Everybody shook their heads.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All in all, losing your phone so often because of your ADHD didn’t end up being so bad. But Clint got his ass kicked when Peter found your phone left in the vents one day. Turns out, when Clint isn’t hiding your phone, you actually don’t lose it all that often.
I hope you enjoyed! Once again, I have no idea how to end fics, so you get that piece of shit as a last paragraph.

Okay but Sam and Rhodey, who work together and know each other; friends even. Maybe Rhodey even gives Sam some dating advice. It's hard being in the military and having to date long distances.
Then comes the day when Rhodey is surprising his husband Tony and son Peter. His team's project ended earlier than expected, and he was gonna surprise them at family dinner night.
Rhodey was NOT expecting to see his colleague Sam there holding his son's hand.
Sam is mortified as he KNOWS they had some lockerroom talk about each other's partners.

“Let me get this straight.”
You and Peter sit on the couch as the entire team, plus Pepper Potts, Happy, and most importantly, Aunt May.
After much discussion, you had come to the decision that it’d be easier for Peter to break the bad news in the comfort of his own home. So, after calling the superheroes, they’d snuck in and crammed into the small apartment.
You have the poor teen wrapped up in a fluffy blanket and your arms. He’d slept incredibly shittily, only falling asleep somewhere after 4 AM. The dark circles staining his undereyes are especially prominent since you had refused to give him coffee in fear of increasing his anxiety. Instead, you’d provided lavender tea.
Tony continues. “A man named Quentin Beck found you on your patrol.” He pauses for Peter to nod in affirmation. “He knew who you were. And he wants my tech under threat of revealing your identity.” Peter sniffles.
You nod, eyeing the tightly drawn curtains and blinds. The genius thinks for a moment as the team paces, carefully avoiding bumping into each other or the furniture.
“Oh, Peter.” May slumps down onto the couch with you both, joining you in hugging her nephew.
You slip away with a ruffle of his hair, pouring another cup of tea from the stove. Quentin Beck. The name seems so familiar.
With an extra cup of tea, you return to the living room, passing one to Peter. He sips it gratefully and you sit on the coffee table. “Could FRIDAY tell us anything about Beck?” you ask to no one in particular.
“Maybe,” Steve says. “Why?” As Tony projects a few screens from his glasses you shrug.
“Quentin Beck, fired from Stark Industries, blah, blah, blah,” Clint mumbles. You approach another floating article. ‘Researcher discredited by the SVTRB (Silicon Valley Tech Review Board), founded by Dr. (L/N).’
“That’s where I know him!” you exclaim. “My dad was the one who investigated his research.” You enlarge the article. ‘Scientist Quentin Beck was found to be running unethical projects involving weaponizing drones with enhanced projections and heavily-armed artillery. Though the board considered pressing charges, they have decided to instead strip Mr. Beck from his title and licenses, as well as charging him a hefty fine.’
“Wait…” Steve begins. “If your dad led an investigation into Beck…” Bucky finishes the statement. “… he’d have intel on him. Criminal history, address, family, education.”
You sigh. “My dad’s a stickler for organization; he keeps every file.” His office. You had the keys to every cabinet, every lockbox. “The files could be there…?”
“‘Could?’” Tony parrots. You shrug. From the couch, Peter speaks up, voice spent and quiet.
“Are either of them home?”
Your parents. Gulping, you feel a sick turn of your stomach.
“I’m not sure.”
———————————————————————
You struggle to keep up the confident façade as you lead the entire group to your apartment. Heads turn in the lobby, but no one comments. Weirder things had happened in the high-end apartment building.
All of you cram into an elevator and you press the button for your floor, shuffling awkwardly. Peter still has his blanket wrapped around him. The Black Widow, famed assassin and a walking legend, is in a hoodie that looks suspiciously too large for her and Snoopy pajama pants.
When you all reach your floor and eventually your apartment, you reluctantly unlock the door, groaning internally as you hear two voices inside. Just your luck.
“Mom, Dad,” you greet, loud enough for the team to hear you. You whirl around, hissing out, “Don’t bring up the files or Beck.”
You turn back to your parents. “Um, I’ve got kind of a surprise.” Revealing the team, you watch their eyes widen.
“(Y/N), why are there Avengers in our doorway?” your mother asks. You wince.
“The internship? I told you about it back in August, I think,” you manage, throat tightening. She hums. She always hums.
Your father straightens up from the other side of the kitchen. “That doesn’t explain why they're here.” And you falter.
Luckily, Tony is overflowing with charisma. “Mr. (L/N), so nice to finally meet you. Your daughter has done such a great job at her internship, that we wanted to offer her a sponsorship for whichever college she chooses and a job with at Stark Industries, should she want to work with us.”
You freeze, detecting zero dishonesty in his tone. The offer clearly isn’t just a cover, judging by the smiles you get from the team when you glance around. It’s a dream opportunity.
But now isn’t the time to celebrate. Tony’s still talking, managing to occupy your parents’ attention for longer than you have in the past decade. So you sneak off, slipping into the office with the keys in hand.
Now, where would that file be? You scan the labels, frantically opening one of the drawers and thumbing through files. Nothing.
You have no idea how long you search before you find a drawer labeled “Investigations A-C”. You unlock it after trying a few different keys, shoving the “A” files away as you search for “Beck”.
Got it. Silently cheering and pumping your fist in a brief celebration, you tuck the file under your arm and sneak to your room, grabbing a messenger bag to slip the papers into.
When you return to the kitchen, Tony’s still bullshitting his way through the conversation, going on about the workplace atmosphere Stark Industries provided and what jobs he thinks you would be best at.
“She’d be really great at planning missions and researching what we need to know about the area, plus that’d give her a flexible schedule. She also has this great idea to start a garden at the tower to grow produce for a sort of soup kitchen,” he rambles.
Wanda nods. “She planned out the budgeting and everything.” They remembered. The whole idea was a bit offhand one night, and you almost thought they’d forgotten. But they hadn’t. Not only did they remember, but they thought it was a good enough idea to genuinely consider.
You sniffle. Tony glances over at your intrusion and you wipe your eyes before pointing to the bag clutched to your side. Quickly tying up the exchange, he claps his hands. “Well, we’d love to stay longer, but we’ve actually got some research back at the tower we need (Y/N)’s input on,” Tony says. It’s not a complete lie. “So we’d best get going.”
They hurry out the door, leaving you to linger in the kitchen. You aren’t quite sure why you’re hesitating.
“Well,” you say, straightening your posture. “I’ll be back later tonight.”
Not even a glance up. Your mother mumbles, “Bye, dear.” and your father half-heartedly waves. They don’t mention the cut on your jaw, or the fact that you didn’t come home last night. They don’t congratulate you on landing a stable job before you’ve even graduated, working with the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
And they don’t notice when you sniffle and slam the door. But the team does.
“You alright, kid?” Sam asks, nudging your shoulder. You nod, ignoring the actions, or rather, lack thereof, of your parents. No one seems convinced, but the task at hand keeps them from pressing any further.
But right then and there, they all make a silent decision.
———————————————————————
Back at the tower, you flip through the file. Quentin Beck has had a painfully average life, graduating at a normal pace with a normal house and normal hobbies. Until he started making weaponized drones.
On top of tracking this guy down, you also had another problem to solve. How did he learn that Peter was Spider-Man? You suspected it had something to do with his tech, seeing as Tony’s could identify people from dozens of feet away.
The billionaire was currently using satellites in an attempt to locate Beck, to no avail. May, Pepper, and Happy were speaking in hushed tones, casting worried glances at Peter every now and then. Steve, Sam, and Rhodey were strategizing how best to talk down the man, while Vision was scanning the internet in search of any articles or hints of his whereabouts. Nat, Bucky, and Clint had slipped away a while ago to find as many electric-based weapons as the barracks would provide.
This was turning out to be an Avengers-level threat.
Meanwhile, you and Wanda sit with Peter. The low thrum of her powers keeps his mind from racing too fast, and you absentmindedly wrap a hand around his shoulders as you pore over the files.
Your eyes jump from paragraph to paragraph, soaking up details as fast as your mind can keep up. Words blur as you enter an autopilot.
“Beck… Yale… Engineering with an emphasis in robotics… network of drones… armed… clearly not intended for military use…” You mutter aloud, halting in your tracks as you fully comprehend the words. “Network. The drones.” You stand up, waving the paper. “The drones are on a network!”
Rhodey gestures for you to elaborate. “Meaning…?”
“It says here that they were controlled from one big computer. They’re all connected by a network, which has to be public on some level, which means if we program in the right constraints, we could find the IP address.” You pace as you talk, hands flying wildly. “I mean, any other tech wouldn’t be able to track him down, fuck knows what kind of VPNs he’s got set up. But FRIDAY could get him, right?”
Tony grins. “I knew we kept you around for something, kid.” He begins to type away as you scoff, rolling your eyes. Vision starts calculating and you can see his eyes flitting back and forth.
You don’t know how much time passes. Seconds, minutes, hours. But Tony still looks up triumphantly as FRIDAY triangulates a location. The smug grin fades as dozens of dots appear. Drones. Possibly hundreds of them.
The absentee trio of assassins returns at that moment and everyone circles up. Even Peter, who seems to be becoming more aware as the red dots surrounding one white triangle reveal the gravity of the situation.
“We need to take him out.” Steve’s words are definite. “But we need to be smart about it. If we give him a chance to think, he could publish anything about Peter’s identity. We need to be quick, efficient.”
“Stark, Vision, I want you two trying your damnedest to shut down those drones. We can’t fight all of them and Beck. Rhodes and Wilson, you’ll target any strays. Contain the situation. Romanoff and I will try to get to Beck. Barton, Maximoff, Buck: I need you all sniping down any drones that get too close.” The plan is simple. Solid. But it’s missing something.
“You need a decoy,” Peter pipes up, voicing your thoughts. “I need to pretend to fulfill the deal.” Okay, no, that was definitely not what you had in mind.
You say so. “Pete, I’m not sure that’s the best idea. You’re the one he’s targeting, after all.” You wave a hand at the cloud of drones. “This? This seems like a setup. He created those hyper-realistic projections, and he could project some false reality and get you all hurt. It’s, like, a bad sci-fi trope.”
“So what’s your idea?” he asks.
Your acrylic nails click on the glass table. “Give me a computer. I can try and take out any projections.”
Several voices raise in protest around the room. A few yells of, “No way, it’s too dangerous.” and even a, “Fuck no!” thrown in for flavor. You wait for them to calm down before speaking again.
“Projections are his whole wheelhouse. And judging by BARF, they’ve gotten pretty convincing. Beck’s expecting all of you.” You wave to the team, three of which are already suited up. “He’s not expecting some random teenage girl to sneak in behind his firewalls and pull the rug right from under him.” You know your point got across when a few of them frown and begin to think it over.
“Are you seriously considering that?” Peter exclaims. “(Y/N), I can’t let you put yourself into harm’s way like that.”
“Well, it’s a good thing that you aren’t letting me do anything. I want to help,” you say, your tone leaving no room for argument.
Peter’s gaze softens. “If you get hurt, I feel like that’s on me.” Tony looks up from across the room and mutters something that sounds suspiciously like, “Kid’s stealing my lines.” You ignore it.
Lifting a hand, you take Peter’s cheek and rub your thumb against his unfairly-smooth skin. He leans into your touch.
“I’ll be fine, Pete. I won’t even be actually fighting. Just behind a screen; honestly, I’ve got plenty of experience doing that.” He laughs, and you consider your job done.
“Alright.” He nods. “Alright, that’s alright. As long as you’re safe.” He lifts his hand, extending his pinky. You link yours, shaking your entwined fingers with far too much force to be necessary.
With Peter’s approval, it seems the decision is made. You’ll help from behind the scenes, far from danger.
“Wait, does this make me an honorary Avenger?”
———————————————————————
Only an hour later, the team is completely suited up and you’ve been planted in the lab, surrounded by the most high-tech computers you’ve ever had the privilege of using. A magical experience, truly.
“Oh man, this is fucking wild,” you mumble as you barely ghost a hand over a projected screen, watching as it flickers to life under your fingertips. Stark’s tech is beyond intuitive, you decide as you “grab” a stack of hologram photos and make a throwing gesture, watching as they spread out in front of you and list details about each one.
The Avengers make some last-minute adjustments, checking weapons and programming the right voltage to tasers and blasters to most effectively take out the drones. You pull up all the programs you’ll need.
Something feels like it’s… missing.
“Hey, Nat?” you ask. The redhead walks over, tilting her head. “Can I have a taser gun? Just a gut feeling.”
The gun she gives you looks nothing like your standard taser gun, and when she fires off a neon blue charge of electricity across the room, you know it definitely isn’t cleared for civilian use.
“Always trust your gut,” she advises, pressing it into the palm of your hand before walking off to help Clint organize his arrows.
You turn the gun over, examining the trigger, testing your grip. The team finishes getting ready as soon as you click off the safety.
“Everyone understand the plan?” Steve asks. You nod. All you had to do was take down any projections. Tony and Vision would only be able to shut down the drones if they could see them, after all.
As the team makes their way to the garage, they pat you on the shoulder, wishing you luck. Peter lingers a bit longer, looking around to make sure Sam and Bucky weren’t watching before giving you a brief kiss and hugging you close. He rests his forehead against yours and you let out deep sighs in tandem.
“Stay safe,” you say. It’s more of a demand, an order, than a well wish.
“I will.”
And with that, he rushes off, mask in hand and suit on under civilian clothes. You turn to Happy, Pepper, and May, who are awwing at yours and Peter’s interaction.
“Y’all are gross,” you comment. “But stay safe.” The two were tasked with getting May safely home and protecting her there, leaving you alone in the tower. May gives you a tight hug and Pepper wishes you luck. Happy gives you a thumbs up.
Once they leave, you look up at the ceiling. “FRIDAY?”
“Yes, Miss?”
“Put the lab on lockdown, please.”
As doors shut and lock, you slip into a chair and put in the earpiece left for you. Tapping it once, you listen to the conversation.
“Hey, kid.” Tony’s voice is slightly crackly at first, but smooths out. “We’re split up in these cars, but we’re all about twelve minutes out. Can you start looking at those drones?”
“Got it.” You type rapid-fire, letting FRIDAY help you scan the area for Beck’s drones. Once the AI pops up with the location, you begin making your way through his countless firewalls and VPNs. You have to admit, the guy is making this difficult.
It takes a solid few minutes before you strip away the final barrier of protection Quentin is hiding behind, but when you do, you’re only given more work.
“Good news, I’m ‘in’, as the hackers say,” you grumble into the earpiece. “Bad news, he’s running dozens of illusions and projections. This’ll take a while to knock out.”
“Can you do it?”
You sigh. “Oh, ye of little faith, Rogers. You’re just lucky I took that coding class to fill up my schedule.”
The team makes it to their positions before you even take out one, and you can hear Peter begin talking to the man who could ruin his privacy. Thankfully, you make your way into his surveillance system, and watch the scene carefully. Beck’s in some sort of costume, cape and all. His shoulders and chest are gilded in gold, and a fishbowl-looking helmet is resting at his hip. It’s fugly.
“Hey, Beck. I’ve got your tech,” he says. The sound is muffled, but he seems grateful, and there’s a shuffling as the case of Stark Tech is passed between them.
“Stark doesn’t know, does he?” Beck asks.
“No, I don’t think he suspects anything.” You hear the other man hum for a moment.
The next time his voice is heard, it’s much clearer. Closer.
“There’s no chance you’re double-crossing me, is there, Peter?” Your blood runs cold. You can hear Peter stammer out a “No.” It doesn’t seem to convince the disgraced scientist. “Really? Why’re you wearing your suit then?”
Almost everyone mutters out, “Fuck.” in unison, except for a few deviations in Russian and Sokovian. You speed up your work, struggling to keep up even with FRIDAY’s help. Finally, you tear apart one projection, watching as Beck flickers, revealing a CGI suit.
What? Why would there be a projection on him? The other drones quickly patch the mistake, but the brief glitch was unmistakeable.
“You really thought I wouldn’t see your little entourage?” he hisses. Apparently, he didn’t notice the momentary loss of his suit’s sleeve. “You’re in my world now. And you’ve brought the Avengers right to me.”
The screen goes dark as the drones go into overdrive, projecting a green fog over the area. It’s immersive, descending the group into panicked fumbling as they try to move through a fake world.
“Shit, (Y/N), now would be a great time to get more of those illusions down,” Sam hisses quietly. You nod even though he can’t see it and return to the computer.
Now that you’ve taken out one layer, peeling the others back will be much easier. You set a standard algorithm for FRIDAY to test on each line of code, which manages to take out a few of the simpler projections.
Every now and then. You’ll glance at the surveillance. It’s broken into a full-on battle now, though Beck has an unfair advantage. Wanda blasts out energy at random, accidentally hitting Rhodey at one point. Steve throws the shield, only to not see it coming back at him and be knocked off his feet. Clint and Bucky bump into each other in the overwhelming darkness, ready to smack the shit out of each other before their voices give them away.
They’re a mess, you think to yourself as you type. You manage to strip away another layer, and for a brief moment, the projections halt just long enough for the team to get their bearings.
And just like that, the illusions are back online, though the quality is noticeably lower. Moving through them fast enough causes a blur when the cameras can’t quite keep up with the motion tracking.
Meanwhile, the Avengers are having what you would call a rough time. Even the brief moments of reality you provide are barely enough to keep them from falling apart.
“Y’know, for the Earth’s ‘Mightiest’ Heroes, you’re taken out extremely easily,” Beck gloats. “But I’ve had enough fun.” With a snap of his fingers, the setting of the projections changes, and they’re planted at the airport. The fight, over six months ago.
“You all are rather pathetic. In fact, you almost did my job for me in Germany.” The scene changes again, sending the heroes tumbling as rubble falls around them. “But here I am. You just had to make this messy.” The drones begin to fire, blasts coming from nowhere.
Tony manages to take out a few drones by having FRIDAY retrace the trajectory of the bullets, but as soon as one goes down, ten more take its place. Vision blasts wildly, only causing more rubble to collapse. He tugs Wanda out of the way just as a huge block of concrete smashes into the ground.
Peter’s panicking, the illusions combined with his enhanced senses completely overwhelming him. You hear his breaths racing and pause from typing. “Peter, you’ve gotta breath,” you soothe, out of breath yourself. “Focus. Use that Spidey-sense you’ve got.”
Your voice acts like a lighthouse, showing him a better solution. A way through the suffocating fog and darkness. He closes his eyes.
And he leaps.
For a moment, his stomach drops in fear he miscalculated. But then he collides with a drone, webbing it up before leaping to the next.
As more drones disable, you return to the keyboard, whittling down the programs until only a few remain. As you finally shut down the last projection, freeing the team from the waking nightmare, you prepare to completely kill the drones, shutting down their entire protocol and rendering them useless.
“You aren’t Beck,” Steve says over the comm. The man posing as Beck is donned in a CGI suit, lifting his hands as Nat trains a gun on him. “Where is he?” she demands.
“Freeze, everyone.” Beck, the real Beck’s voice, echoes through the comms. But there’s another layer to it.
The lab doors slide open.
A disheveled man emerges, a gun trained on you. Out of the corner of your eye, you see more drones emerge around the team, circling them into a tight ball. A kill circle, you realize.
“If you honestly thought it’s be that easy, you are sorely mistaken,” Quentin spits, only getting closer to you. “Now, you’re going to stay right there as I rid the world of the most resilient pests to walk upon it.”
Your friends. They’re yelling into their earpieces, but you aren’t comprehending their words. You’re calculating.
Beck is injured. You’re not sure why or how, but he’s limping on his left leg, right one raised off the floor. His knuckles are busted and there’s a goose egg forming on his forehead. His eyes are glazed, struggling to focus on you.
So you do what you do best. Gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss. You run your mouth.
“Alright, Jesus fucking Christ,” you growl, shocking him. “Can you put the goddamn gun down? You’re making me nervous.” You turn around slowly, hands still in the air.
“(Y/N), do not do something heroically dumb,” Peter hisses over the comm.
You chuckle, eyeing the button that’ll take out the drones. Your taser gun is right next to it. “Heroic? No.” Inhaling deeply, you smirk at the screen. “Dumb? Absolutely.”
In one smooth motion, you click the button and grab the taser gun, whirling around and shooting Beck in the chest. He fires the gun at the same time, evidently missing. You wince at the loud noise, shaking your head as the ringing in your ears fades to reveal the worried voices of your friends.
“Holy shit, is she okay?”
“Kid? Kid, talk to us!”
You pant, adrenaline rushing through your system. “I’m good, it’s all good.” You grab duct tape, wrapping it around the passed-out man’s wrists, arms, legs, and ankles. Tony projects a screen, showing the team’s relieved faces. The drones are shut down, scattered around the abandoned building.
You move the screen lower to show the man, laughing as you pose beside him and brandish the taser. “Glad I asked for this thing, yeah?” None of them respond. You rub at your head to chase away an oncoming dizziness. “C’mon, that’s at least a little funny.”
“(Y/N), I need you to focus, okay?” Tony’s voice has taken a suspiciously quiet tone. “I need you to find a medkit.”
“What, why?” You look down, freezing instantly. It seems Beck’s aim was a bit better than you thought. “Oh, that’s- that’s blood. Okay.” Honestly, you can’t feel it. All you can see is the growing red cloud in your shirt.
You follow Tony’s directions as he takes off into the sky, leaving the rest of the non-fliers to shuffle into the cars. Peter webs onto the Iron Man suit, heart heavy and pounding as he listens to Mr. Stark amble off advice.
“I need the, the… What’s it called?” Your voice is quieter than normal. “The AAJT. Abdominal Aortic and Junctional Tourniquet. You got one of those?”
“Why the fuck do you know what that is?” You hear Clint grumble, concern still evident in his tone.
You groan “Med class.” at the same time Tony says, “Yes, fourth drawer on the left of the sinks.” You throw open said drawer, yanking out the tool.
“Aw, man, this is gonna feel like shit.”
“Just put it on, kid,” the genius sighs. “We’re almost there.” You faithfully wrap the band around your stomach, taking a few deep breaths to hype yourself up before yanking the little plastic buckle as tight as possible.
“Oh, motherfucker,” you hiss. “Oh my fucking god, that stings like a bitch.”
“You’ve gotta pump that compressor, can you do that?” You’re not sure who’s talking now and you’re not sure if you respond, but you do as they say nonetheless, pumping the small rubber ballon as the device tightens around your abdomen.
For all of your tough guy act, you whimper. The room’s spinning, and you’re pretty sure that you aren’t high enough -you aren’t high at all, actually- for your gravity to feel this askew.
By the time the fliers arrive, you’re curled up into a ball, cussing like a sailor as you weakly continue to squeeze the compressor.
“Okay, okay. Hey, kid? We’re here, you’re gonna be fine. Dr. Cho’s on her way from the compound with the Cradle, she’ll get you fixed up.” You nod as Tony rambles.
Sam sits down beside you, taking the compressor from you and pumping it. “So, what do you think of your first ‘mission’?” he chuckles. Always trying to lighten the mood.
“I think…” you pause to swallow and cough. “... I think it, it fuckin’ sucks.” You grin as a few laughs sound around you. From across the room, Wanda sighs in relief.
“Good news,” she holds up a small metal bullet, red haze surrounding it. “The bullet is whole. No fragments.” Likewise, Tony gives you an encouraging grin as he kneels beside you. “FRIDAY said it’s just a graze. No internal bleeding. You got pretty lucky.”
Peter sniffles. “Doesn’t seem like it.” You can hear the guilt in his tone.
“Hey, none of that,” you grumble. “You heard them: I’ll be fine. Plus, I’ve got a cool-ass scar now. God, I can lord this over Flash forever.”
He laughs at that, the sound warming you up from the inside. “You just got shot, and the first thing you think about is how to shit on Flash Thompson?”
“Oh, yeah. This is a great subject for a valedictorian speech, y’know?”
Rhodey raises a brow from where he’s tracking the rest of the team. “Getting a bit ahead of yourself, (Y/N),” he chuckles.
“Oh, please.” You wave a hand. “I’d say I’ve got it in the bag.”
Peter maneuvers your head into his lap, running his hands through your hair. “I’m glad you’re okay,” he whispers. “I don’t know what I would’ve done if you… if you-” Before he even finishes the sentence he’s tearing up, so you cut him off.
“Ssh, I know. I’m not going anywhere.”
———————————————————————
“Oh, wow, that’s really weird.”
Helen Cho had arrived shortly after, setting up the Cradle. After she cleaned your wound, you were laid in the machine. It slowly regenerated your tissue, passing over the wound and essentially rebuilding the damaged muscle.
An hour later, she wrapped the still-bruised skin and offered you painkillers, which you politely declined. A Tylenol Extra Strength would be fine.
“Thanks, Doc,” you chirp. She smiles and makes a quick exit to see to the other injured security guards, which were the reason that Beck was so beat up by the time he made it to you.
“Glad to know you’re alright,” Steve says. You nod, patting down the gauze. The entire team is scattered around the lounge, some with injuries of their own. Tony groans as he sits up from where he’s draped on the couch.
“So, (Y/N), as compensation for getting you shot on your first ‘mission’-”
“Tony, you don’t have to do anything like that, really. I knew the risks, and i don’t regret helping out.” You shrug. “Just, like, buy me some wine-” You get immediately smacked in the face with a pillow. Steve. “I’m kidding, I’m kidding! Halfway. Also, I’m injured. You can’t deck me with pillows.”
“You are bruised at worst,” the captain snarks. You make a face at him.
“All right, ladies, calm down.” Tony stands up and begins pacing, hands stuffed in his pockets. “I’m not buying you wine, but I can offer you something better.” Hmm, now you’re intrigued. “We already let you know about the job offer, but now that you’re technically a member of the team we wanted to offer you something else. We’ve thought about it a lot, and the decision was unanimous.”
He lifts a hand from his pocket, revealing a single key. “How would you like to move in? It could be once you graduate, or you could-” You tackle him in a hug, eyes watering.
“Yeah, that’d be great.” Some claps erupt and you feel some extra arms join in the hug. “Can I have the key?” you ask, making grabby hands.
“Well, the key actually doesn’t go to anything. It’s more symbolic.” You laugh, snatching the key anyway. The team begins discussing how to help you move, what room you want, decor. As you listen contently, you feel arms wrap around your shoulders.
“Did you know about this, Mister?” you ask Peter, twisting to press a kiss to his cheek.
He shrugs, a smile giving him away as he sways with you. “Maybe. I’m glad you liked the surprise, though.”
“I loved it, how could I not?”
You can’t help but feel relieved. There’s a weight off of your shoulders knowing that you won’t be stuck with your parents for any longer, stifled in a house that never had anything close to what you’ve felt at the tower.
You feel, well… at home.

“Hello, Pluto.” Tony said on the other side of the gate for the school outside the car Happy had running and waved from inside. “Wondered if you might be up for a lift. Looks like rain.”
“I take it this is your way of keeping me from being ambushed in another park,” you joked making him smirk and turn to open the door behind him you walked towards.
“One way to go about it, certainly.” He said following you inside the car. Luring Peter’s attention from his classroom inside, seeing his mentor here and not for him causing the teen to palm his phone he’d keep hold of in hopes of gaining first view of a message to come in.
Beside you on the bench seat Tony settled and Happy pulled off the curb. “Bit surprised there wasn’t a piece on the park in the Bugle. Veggie rodents, not what I was expecting.”
Smirking at him you said, “You can say what you mean, I won’t quote you on it.”
“You have a substantial press following. Four years you can trail it back like bread crumbs to see what you were up to. I had a team, to manage my press, I know you call him your brother, but even family should have a limit.”
“When the Goliath was stolen Rhodey gave a lovely speech to the press,”
“That is different-,” he tried to say but his voice trailed off as your smirk grew a bit.
“Eddie pays me a look out fee for scoops, 20%. When something happens, it’s all how it’s worded to the public. Pierce tried to gas me and drag me off the street four years ago. I could have chosen any name I wanted, I chose to use my name. Go to school, let the military release my name linked to the Blackhowls, my name on social pages, my hobby videos I post, and when I dance. You vanished, and everyone noticed.”
His lips parted, “This is how you stayed here so long, everyone at the paper, whole military, SHIELD.”
“This is my face, my life, and my name. Eddie found me stuck in a trap someone laid for Misique took me home, patched me up. I hear things, some people tend to not pay me much notice. I thought he was a weird drunk next door with a sleep disorder, but he just likes to pace and verbalize his drafts on a weird sleep schedule. A really great guy, who could have set up some sinister social stalking bond with a kid like me who is a magnet for chaos.”
“You do tend to be in the eye of the storm, don’t you? We can get you security, you know.”
“I think it’d be a bit more detrimental to them at this rate,” you said making him chuckle to himself.
“After your surgery we took a few drives around your block, I couldn’t go five buildings without twenty heads poked out the windows to watch.”
“Same as in Brooklyn, immigrants do look after one another, and a kid working four jobs gains a bit of a fair reputation, even from most criminals with some common sense.”
“We got your designs of the jets underway to the final inner details and are photographing this weekend for press. Upping the price as well, respectfully but it will increase interest.”
“All your business details, Mr Stark.”
“It’s your business too, you get half the profits.” Over your face his eyes scanned taking in the simple linger of your eyes on his, wondering what he was thinking up. “Any plans for a Pear Industries one day?”
“So far I just make and sell keychain pendants out of gemstones and metal I print for something to churn out for profit. Been saving funds since the contract change to have full payment for next semester. I wouldn’t feel right applying for more scholarships.”
“Well I’ll take fifty,” he said making you roll your eyes widening his grin.
“Industry normally implies more than one person or an actual store front or home base or something.”
“All the same, I would think up a name and trademark it now. Jump in especially if it’s a good one.” Pointing a finger at you he teased, “Toss your brother another headline or two in the process. What’s the site called?”
“Pluto Skapa Níu,” you said making his brows inch up, “Níu in Ancient Norse is nine, and Skapa is to create, or make.”
“Pluto Makes Nine, great way to work the name in. Dad tried forever to come up with a slogan for our company that wasn’t ‘Stark Comparison’ then he gave me this look when I said I’d change my name if he went with that.” He said making you chuckle to yourself. “Sorry, you said you print the stones?” he asked and you nodded.
“Stones are mostly metal, my metal printer can also create varying levels of earth and stone as well.”
“So,” he said then gestured to your hand with the moonstone ring on it, “I heard you bought that ring.”
“Not moonstones, or pearls, they have special properties. My ring helps with warding off bad dreams. Some things might be superstitious, but I bought the first one second hand and I thought it would be nice to buy a new one. Other stones are easy to lure effects to them upon creation. Most recent supply is jade actually, and they seem to be taking off. Ladies at the nail salon love them, told their families about them and bought a whole sack full to mail home.”
“See, now that is why dad said it was best you were competition, if anyone had a silver spoon growing up it was me. Fourteen at MIT trying to prove that even without the Stark name or blood I could do it. I don’t know how he did it, made it seem so easy in his early twenties to build his empire.”
“Grown man good at making things go boom with war on the horizon.” You said making him smirk. “That question will forever linger. Probably why he didn’t get to branch out in much more than movie production outside of war goods as that was the backbone of it. You inherited that, I inherited degenerative disease work.”
“Nature vs nurture in action,” he joked. “I would say it would be interesting to see how we both move forward from this point for our companies. Already looking into a place up north to at least move the Avengers out of the city if we need to. Press is a bit wishy washy on that topic. What do you think?”
“I think fate guides us either knowingly or otherwise. Choices are lessons from real estate to the snacks we pick throughout our day. I suppose with a jet you could always respond fairly quickly, the press would certainly have to work harder to watch over your shoulders. Up to you which wins, privacy or response time.”
“I think the space might be good, Capcicle has been stocking up on the art books and we got him a good tutor like I know you told him years ago and Barnes said it once over breakfast. Just casual and blunt to get a tutor to do what you said. I take it you told him about your talks with Steve.”
“We talked about a great deal of things from the past four years. I told him what I noticed about what could be under his behavior. When you lose something so massive, you need to bring new life into your life, hobbies or pets or even friends and passions. I don’t relish seeing people in pain, even if they have hurt me. And for some reason I need two feet and a hundred pounds to gain before he’d take my advice.”
“Highly doubt it’s the size issue.”
“I don’t know, he’d take Sam Wilson’s word before mine too, haven’t seen him much with Clint but I wouldn’t put it past him,” you said making Tony chuckle.
“I’m sure if you were to knock him around a bit he’d come around, how Nat won him over.”
Softly you giggled, “Cooper and Bucky are one thing, whole different strain of the Super Serum and they’ve had second doses. Icing people makes it volatile on occasion. He starts growing skin tag growths on his neck he’s got to be given another dose or his heart will give out.”
That had Tony’s lips part. “Holy, Misique told you the signs?”
“I had to give Cooper chest compressions until he could be retrieved for his dose when I was twelve. Bucky was happy to let me scan him since they had him iced for so long.”
“You, really have a vast pool to dig from,” he said and drew in a breath to say, “Got to be like a can of worms, you mention one thing and people keep wanting to dig for more as some try to wiggle out on their own. Man if people spent a week in your past there would be a lot less complaining in the world.”
“If people spent a week in my past there would be a great deal less people.”
“Your own purge, I get that, a lot of people make the world less safe than when they get here.” His phone cut off the conversation enabling Happy to jump in and cause the billionaire to look between you both when he could hearing about your speech troubles. Though advice was hard to give as you arrived and were let out to keep on schedule. The slight addition of wait time did however enable you to blow a bit more of your pocket money to get a nice warm cider to sip on prior to your first exam.
 …
Five foot tall at your side Eldfalls sat inside the chopper that flew you to the same base. Through which he hovered at your side on the walk through while the officer in charge filled you in to how things had been readied to streamline this process. Formerly just a weekend project for you the spare three evenings during the week could hasten the hold they could get on these coveted machines pilots were near to fist fights to be assigned to just like with the prior four. Smooth as ever your team was there, and excited to meet Eldfalls who they’d heard so much about, to get the ball rolling. Though that crater in Asia seemed to lessen the usual stream of heads and bodies who tried steal looks at the new pair to your gradually growing fleet.
Bodies were smoothed already and right up onto a wing when you had put your bag in its usual cubby and pulled on a coverall suit you tied the top half at your waist. To help guard the skin in the open cuts on your worn jeans and tucked into the tops of your boots to not let them hang too low and cause you to trip. Hair braided and tied back and neckline of your t shirt adjusted you sat down to start removing the cover to the right wing behind the propeller to start the conversation of that crucial part. Eldfalls all around the shells hovered to take in the mortal travel vessel even he could tell was saved from ruin by your efforts.
Comfort by lunch however did have the usual officers who came to escort you to the on base diner did have a couple heads poke in then right back out. Echoes of your voice and that of your dragon had calmed a good deal of worries as you went through the steps as second knowledge not flinching or hesitating.
A second visit by new faces however had those worries creep back as the group followed the voice speaking in an unknown language. Loki alongside Rhodey, Bucky, Steve and Sam had arrived half an hour to sunset. The latter stood in awe at the one handed lower of an engine chunk from the wing onto a platform held by a chain pulley three of the team slid an inch and gradually lowered it down to the waiting dolly below to move it aside for reuse later.
Loki however to the side eyed both your stained self and the dragon who spoke to you again in Old Asgardian correcting the sentence you had just stated. And as you reached into the wing to start removing the final mount brackets the Prince spoke to you in the same tongue responding to the statement you had spoken again. “What?” right to him your eyes drifted while Bucky came closer to one handedly give the stuck dolly a nudge for the crew straining at the weight of such a hefty piece.
“Were you not commenting upon the vastness of our empire?” the Prince asked, now smirking slightly as you tossed a mount into a bucket at the base of the ladder you were straddling to sit upon.
“Oh, practicing conversational Old Asgardian actually. My last trip to Vanaheim I had asked Hogun for a book on Asgardian but he gave me one, in, Old Asgardian,” you said making him chuckle to himself. “I have some friends who have been helping me to translate the book and make a sort of translation guide so I can learn the language. Eldfalls has been helping me with speaking it.”
“Thus feeding my next question, where, pray tell, on Odin’s green earth did you find this ship?” He asked now looking at the dragon who greeted him fondly.
“Bottom of the ocean actually. Misique helped to drag it ashore,” off your hair a couple of bees flew down to project images of how he used to look. “Didn’t even know he could turn into a dragon until we managed to get the wings and hull back whole again.”
“And you have flown this craft, I have seen this.”
“Couple times. Happened to hear a distress call last time, though still feeling controls out, still haven’t even found the hull hatch yet. Eldfalls loves being mum on his secrets.” You said with a giggle removing the final part to be able to swing your leg over and climb back down and wipe your hands on a rag there on the rolling stand you settled the tools you had in hand onto first.
Sam said pointing at the plane, “Now this is gorgeous, and you made these, you let Steve or the team fly them yet?”
Steve said, “I’m not a pilot.”
Sam said, “But you said you flew a plane once in the war.”
You answered for him, “He crashed a plane once, into the Arctic to stop a bomb.”
“Oh,” Sam said then looked at his friend, “Why didn’t you bail out?”
“There was no way to do that,” he said and you let out a giggle and turned to fold the ladder and carry it to the nose of the plane. “There was no way to do that, it was on autopilot to New York I had to disengage that to stop it.”
Rhodey said next, “I’ve seen the schematics for that craft, there’s this big button, right in the middle of the far right console that drops the engines off. It’d be a belly slide at worst but you’d have had time to skid down and run for it.”
“None of you were there, big red button or no button, I had to crash the plane.”
Steve said defensively making Bucky pat him on the back to Rhodey saying, “So you admit you saw the button.” They moved with you to the nose to accept the heavy cover you removed and lowered down to him with a hand he added to the tarped area you told Bucky of below.
Loki moved back to your view and asked, “I have been informed you have been, not just to Vanir twice, but Svartalfheim as well. How was that travel obtained whilst the Rainbow Bridge was broken?”
“First time, not entirely certain, we were walking down the street and there were anomalies of physics.” You said and he gave an encouraging nod, “A poster tore off a wall and hit a car causing it to lift up and rotate in a magnetic vortex field is the closest I could assume. Yet we just stepped back away from the car and we fell through an unseen portal into, well it wasn’t sand, but the sand-like surface of Svartalfheim. Found this fortress of a building and spent some time there. We found Jane on the way there and she had something inside her.”
“The aether,” Loki named the living sludge for you. “Rather dangerous substance, I was told it was sealed within a cylinder upon delivery to Vanir.”
“We found the Med Bay, and there was this crystal bed with mist displays of the body beneath it and hovering glass panels. We went through several pages of languages until we found one like Wingdings, it is a font where they have symbols for each letter.” You said gaining another nod from him in gratitude for the explanation, “Venom helped us to sort of guess the meanings of the options off the images and to find some food. Which, the food they have, is beyond disgusting to inspect for possibility of being edible, but some of it was tolerable.” You said making him chuckle.
“Some cultures have no defined palate.” He answered playfully.
“We did find a jar of earth salt there, so they had stolen or found or bartered for it somehow sometime. Anyways, after the aether was in the cylinder,” you paused and his brow inched up at the slight adjustment of the tool in the hand rested upon your lap.
“Yes?”
“When we were looking for food I heard the transporter.”
“You heard it?” the Prince asked.
“Like an automated voice when you come close?” Rhodey asked having turned his full attention to you.
“No, it’s sort of complicated.”
“I would say so most transporters have no audio functions.” Loki replied.
“I heard a root of Yggdrasil through it,” you said and the Prince’s mouth opened slightly.
Looking to Rhodey Bucky explained, “Yggdrasil is the great tree that connects the realms. Doesn’t talk to people usually.”
“It was just a platform with dangling crystals and eight hovering orbs, which had they been in order we would have been sent back here, but we landed in the middle of a field on Vanaheim and Eldfalls came to get us from there.”
Rhodey muttered to himself, “First that Misphisto guy and now magical trees.”
“And you chose to leave Jane Foster there for medical attention as you felt mortal capabilities lacking?” Loki asked.
“No, I just, put her down to try and talk to Hogun, but then a root picked us up to land on Eldfalls’ deck when he arrived and she was still on the ground. Though that seems now like a much better explanation that we left her there for better medical care,” you said making him chuckle ad Bucky in amusement look between you.
His eyes again moved from Eldfalls, who was now hovering to inspect the open wing, to the ship. “This seems a peculiar undertaking. This shell is quite old.”
“What I do. Take older war bird bodies and turn them into kinetic powered flying machines. Bullet and bomb proof, impenetrable for electrical pulses or certain radio waves to override the systems. They have some of my finished ones if you’d want to tour them.”
Sam said, “Oh I am so down for that, can I go?”
Rhodey smirked and nodded his head to the side. “Be back in a bit, Pluto.” Eyeing the Prince who remained still, peering up at you mid reach to have your bees scan the nose components to help you find what you were after before his inevitable step away to see the final product.
.
“This is quite sublime,” Loki said making the Pilots and Rhodey grin hearing it as he entered the belly, having just examined the outside of the refurbished war bird. “And this is common, Stark’s jet is quite beneath the skill level of this.”
Bucky said, “Well that’s a combat jet, there’s a sort of understanding, what I can tell, these aren’t war birds anymore.”
One of the Pilots said, “Mainly run supplies and transport, the first two are armed but we don’t see the need to arm the whole fleet. Our older Stark fleet are just fine for that.”
“Compared to Asgard, how does this rank up?” Steve asked and the Prince ticked his head to the side a moment.
“This is far from poorly, I would aim to guess this is closer to a Jotun glider engine. The hum is the same pitch. Vastly different bodies, though no less incomparable in skill. Where do you store the others?”
“Pluto is the only one who can make them,” Rhodey said.
And the Pilot chuckled, “Well, only one without causing an implosion. Giant crater in Asia from the last crew who tried.”
“This is the Shieldmaiden’s fleet then, impressive to have such a fleet at one’s discretion.”
Steve said, “No, she sold these to the US Government. For a pretty penny too.”
Bucky said, “Scandinavia did buy use of designs of hers for cleaner commercial aircraft and Stark for smaller private jets for teams and private owners. So that engine is from space?”
“I would imagine a great deal many notions have been shared with one so open to listen through Yggdrasil. Our best minds were found in contact with the great tree. Quite unrivaled.”
Bucky said with a grin, “Least it’ll help pay her way into a nice home. Been helping to show her house styles to pick what she and her brother like. He wants one too nearby to where she picks.”
Steve asked, “She’s buying him a house too?”
“Nah, he’s gonna pay off his place now and buy his own house after.” Bucky said as they filed out of the Blackhowl and went to head back to the hangar where you were cleaned up and out of your coverall.
A second meal at the diner enabled him to dig more into which book you had been given and how many tales you had translated already. Helped along more by the fact you had the book he came close to clasping to his chest at such a coveted piece of home when it was offered to him for inspection.
“You can borrow it, I’ve scanned the whole thing and sent my friends copies when I first got it to help with translations.”
“Thank you, I shall return it in pristine condition.” He said then wet his lips to break their pursed position they found in his confusion. “What friends are aiding in the translations?”
“I met some self exiled Beserkers, turns out two of them I knew as a child, go figure, they wanted to help my parents. But um, we met not long after I moved here and bonded over my necklace. That one has been collecting pieces they find in shops and whatnot.”
“They can be rather dangerous,” he said and asked, “My father assured us no Asgardians were left on Midgard.”
“Well, stragglers might encourage more desertion from loyalty. Exile is exile better to not let others know people have survived.”
“I would imagine that might be a possible choice Father would entertain. They are amiable?”
“Stone masons, crafters, a few have worked on sailcloth before they helped me to water and windproof my sail for Eldfalls. Just have to add the grommets and ringlets to hook it to the supporting beams.”
“Might I make myself of use within that project? The very least I might aid in lessons for mastering the controls.”
“Well you’re welcome to drop by when you please, Eldfalls at least enjoys the company of those who can speak to him fully.” You said with a grin causing his brows to tighten playfully at the final addition.
“You are ultimately prized, truly, he speaks of you quite endlessly. Tale through father stated not even uncle could gain such favor from his ship at the time. I would imagine the lack of a shared language and discovery of his inner workings solidified such admiration and loyalty.” He said then added after a pause, “Then perhaps I might, upon greater capacity of such time of companionship cross paths with this Misique. To thank her properly.”
“Misique doesn’t require thanks,” triggering the corner of his brow to twitch upwards, “From you or anyone else. Action for the sake of action not in reward, as my mother used to say.”
Bucky said with a chuckle, “My Ma was the same way. Pops just used to back that up by saying, ‘Do as she says boy, or I will pop you into next week’, then the skillet would always go flying,” he said with another chuckle, “Still can’t wait to see that sail you made. When’s the big bash to show it off?”
“After graduation to kick the summer off.”
“There is celebration to present the sail?” Loki asked with a slight eagerness to his tone.
“Yes, in Norway at the museum that has an exhibit on Eldfalls and the few chains and weapons we found inside of a few hidden hatches and a broken spear in the hull. And some teeth from the beast that Vili faced off with and downed Eldfalls I pulled from the opening in the hull. It’s actually been quite helpful to tourism to have the full following of videos I’ve sent of repairs. More money has been put into research on more artifacts and preservation for old forests that could be housing more relics yet to be found. Partly why I think they were open to the new aircraft design I let them use. To accommodate more travelers, Thor’s first sighting in New Mexico did spike interest a bit, but this has lasted much longer.”
“I could imagine more insight was gained throughout the process,” he asked then after a glance at his cup of tea he asked, “Would the invitation list be quite exclusive?”
“Oh, I could contact my grandfather, he has a more direct line of contact with the King and Queen of Norway who are hosting. I am certain they would extend invitations to yourself and Thor.” Luring a grin across his lips, “Quite an addition to the press alone, nephews of former King Vili himself there for the big unveiling, and perhaps if you are there I might not have to give a speech.” You said chuckling to yourself and turning focus back to your food as the guys chuckled.
.
Home alone while watching satellite footage of military vehicles nearing New York you called your grandfather to share the news that would ignite curiosity and excitement of being able to have the Asgardian Princes come to the grand unveiling. Sure as you said, the press lit up at wonder for how this would unfold and interest shot through the roof. No one could have expected them to return so soon or in time for this, but just in case there were back up plans made in case they did end up zapping away off planet like they had in the past.
By morning however familiar faces of soldiers from the Orca box search had found their ways back into your usual paths and onto the base where you were working to setup guard stations again, but this time laxer yet no less annoying.
Several days had passed before the Prince could come by again, due to both distraction from detailing the book he borrowed and the hours spent watching every video posted on the rebuild alongside more scrapped and taped up plans for Thanos had kept him away.
Just leaving you with dinners around gym trips with Bucky, who was pouring himself into this house hunting project to even out his heavy therapy sessions while he adjusted to his new life he would build.
.
Large stack of drop cloth in hand you turned to the curious Prince while Elliot and another Beserker carried the trunk housing the new sail. The exiled Beserkers here for this who had greeted the Prince formally greatly warmed him into their company. They set the trunk down across the arms of a lawn chair; each of them seeing the curiosity in his gaze at the simple cloth, “It’s a drop cloth.” That had his eyes lift to land on you. “I wouldn’t insult you with invitation to see a simple white sailcloth.”
In amusement he chuckled and helped you to lay out the cloth so the others could open the trunk and really have his jaw drop at the design which over the next three hours of this task he could detail and help the instillation of grommets and ringlets. His magic made ease of the task to hover the sail that could be worked into the supporting arms of the mast then locked in place with the final lock of the hidden rings where the ringlets could slide into the groove.
All around the ship flames danced to Eldfalls’ glee. Silence in this moment of relief and awe Loki had broken by asking you in a joking tone, “Just how have you been managing to get into the hull again?”
“There is an opening around the mast.” Up at him you smirked, “The hull switch is somewhere obvious, right?”
Breathily he chuckled and turned to the dragon head of the ship, right along the curve inside the inner wall of the ship was a hidden panel he gestured to making you grin and lift a hand he respectfully used his fingertips to adjust to the right spot. Flat on the metal wall your hand pressed and his smile spread to the sigh you gave when a split of metal announced the secretive hatch right behind you.
“Now, we can see the true craftsmanship,” and down the steps the doors to the hatch made he led the way, igniting a palm with green flames to light the way to the now patched section of hull. “And you have done well with this mesh. Novice craftsmen upon restorations often forget the new layers require the level adhere to. Myself upon my first crash I was to restore the damage done and nearly sank my ship anew had my teacher not warned me of this mistake.”
“I don’t know how to get the burn stains off the metal though. Tried scrubbing it a few times to no luck.”
“Truly these are not burns,” he said and your eyes snapped up to his as he turned to look at you. “This, is his fire lung. Had there been no burns he would not live.” A fact that would have you apologize later to the far from bothered ship who knew your intentions during the act were to help him and had helped to scrape some sea salt out of some rather uncomfortable spots it had been stuck in for centuries.
The eye contact broke as Eddie’s head came into view of the hatch, “Got the bus ready if you’re up for another test of the controls.” Nodding his head the Prince gestured to let you up first and when the hatch sealed watched you and Eddie lower the mast, in turn folding the sail together to keep it hidden.
.
“Now you have basic mastery of the steering,” Loki stated, having seen you power the engine to cast off the shore and get out a fair ways into the ocean. “Found anything else?”
“I know this curved spot here controls the levitation beam feature.” Widely the Prince had taken to smiling as in a smooth lesson of sailing he greatly explained more hidden controls and tricks until Thor behind Mjolnir soared up to grab his brother rather rudely without so much as a hello and soar off to fulfill some unshared promise of their attending something that night with the team. An act that had the group of Beserkers chuckle and help you to do a few more maneuvers to make the most of the time you had on the water before taking him back in.
..
“Would you-,” Mrs Stacy said in her rise up to leave her newest son in your arms so she could head to the bathroom.
Lost in a means not to cry the swaddled infant peered up at you mid broken crackle of a squeal as you just stared back at the pudgy pug like face all their boys seemed to have been born with by their older pictures. Eddie at your side adjusted his arm from his lap to smooth across your back to Captain Stacy’s continued rant. “And then some Sergeant came in and tried to have me pushed out of my own office! I’m a Captain, I outrank him! Even if they try to say the two don’t equate as I didn’t achieve that out of the military. I get it, but still, and they won’t tell us what’s going on!”
“Dad,” Gwen said coming out of the kitchen with a tray of drinks in hand, “They’ll probably say something eventually.”
“Or they’ll just try to put us into Marshall Law again like with the Titans.” He snapped back continuing to pace as he stole a glance your way seeing the stroke of a curled finger against his son’s cheek that tugged a hint of a grin across his lips to the sound the boy made from it.
They didn’t know what it meant, to be so trusted with a child knowing your same hands had killed a hundred at least. True you hadn’t ever hurt anyone under the age of schooling, but all the same you knew had they known this you would be the last person they would ever allow to be within a mile of any of their children. And in holding this boy deep in your chest you had to plan a time later to deal with the sensation of what it might have been for your own mother to have finally held you in her arms.
“What I know is they’re aiming to block up the city again with some plan the Avengers are cooking up.” You spoke up.
That had him pause and look your way again as what you said sank in, “Oh well that’s just lovely. Next thing we know half a block or hell, let’s throw in a bridge or two for them to topple in the process of what they’re up to. I am telling my guys, I don’t care what they say, they are not just taking control one day did not go well last time. Least now we’ll have a heads up and my guys can gripe it out before it happens.”
Mrs Stacy was soon back to claim her son whose telling whine had you and Eddie head out with a hug and goodbye for Gwen and her dad to let the mother and baby sleep after he had been fed again.
Down to the lobby you rode in the elevator. “They at least let you finish your work today before they sent you off the base?” Eddie asked not having been able to ask earlier at the promise to meet you here for this meeting.
“Well they had to, keep looking in like the whole city will blow if they don’t. Still doesn’t stop that one guy from staring while I’m in the diner. Seems like I turned legal and now I’m suddenly able to be hunted. Guys on my team have been keeping them away though. Don’t like it either.”
“Let us know if you need some knee capping done.” Venom hissed and Eddie nodded, continuing, “Certainly no secret that plan is being readied for. Kid let you in on any dates yet?”
“This month, is the best he could slip me. They keep bouncing back and forth on dates, something about a clear sky and they need some rod conductors from something most likely stupid.”
“Of course it’s going to be stupid, they still haven’t called in the big guns yet.” He said with a smirk at the doors opened and you stepped out.
Right to the street you walked to where he’d parked his bike, “Said he heard something about Selvig though.”
“They know where he is now?”
“Loki does,” Eddie nodded and smirked in offering you your helmet.
“Well then maybe me and Buddy should take a look around town. See if we can catch onto anything. Drop you someplace with food and let you know what we find out.” You added the helmet and he asked, “You okay, with the baby and all?”
“If they knew,” you said and he cut you off.
“Every baby I have you are watching and loving. I know, stingers and all, that’s how much I love you, how much I trust you. You’d let Buddy hold your babies wouldn’t you?” he asked and you giggled. “You know the goop monster is taking his fair share of time too.” Guiding you to settle onto the bike behind him to start the ride across town to the diner you frequented. Signs were everywhere that again the walls were going to start closing in.
Eddie had tried to be calm, but as Carnage was now surprisingly inside New York and working his way through Uptown there was a good number of buildings that had entirely shut down driving the elite elsewhere until the menace could be found.
Resounding silence in places like First through Fifth Avenue at certain parts of the day hinted to the effects. While those of the working classes seemed a fraction at ease that they seemed to be below the target list of income. Wall Street already was in the middle of being moved out to a newly purchased area of land in Arizona to keep their billions of imaginary dollars safe and brokers could work either at home or dare to head into the offices without a manager in sight to dictate their orders for the day beyond a morning virtual conference meeting. Even he was in town readying for what came next sensing it might just be too big for a tiny bee to scare away on her lonesome.

You get to the 6th level of the parking garage at the Leipzig/Halle airport and Steve parks next to a van and you all get out.
Steve gets closer to the van, followed by Sam while you stay behind with Bucky, both of you leaning on the car as you stand on the passenger’s side to be able to see over the car because you’re just that short.
You hear a little snicker from Bucky and look at him with your eyes narrowed as he seems amused by the sight but doesn’t say anything. Your attention goes back to the van as Clint loudly opens the side door.
“What timezone is this?” Scott asks, clearly disoriented as he gets out.
“Come on.” Clint encourages him and pushes him slightly towards Steve. “Come on.”
Scott walks to Steve and shakes his hand with an amazed look. “Captain America.”
“Mr. Lang.” Steve politely says as he shakes his hand.
“It’s an honor.” He says in awe. “I’m shaking your hand too long.” You try your best not to laugh as Scott fangirls over Steve.
“Wow! This is awesome!” He turns and sees Wanda and, in the same cheery voice, says “I know you, too. You’re great!”
Then he turns back to Steve and feels his shoulders saying “Jeez.” and you can’t help but giggle, seeing the scene and everybody’s reactions that go from amused to confused while Scott continues talking.
“Ah, look, I wanna say, I know you know a lot of super people, so… thinks for thanking of me” He says and you giggle more while looking at Bucky to make sure you heard right and his face is as confused as you feel. You turn back to Scott as he says, “Hey, man!”
Sam tries to play it cool by saying “What’s up, Tic Tac?”
“Uh, good to see you.” Scott says, seeming a little confused at the nickname but deciding to blow past it. “Look, what happened last time when I-”
“It was a great audition, but it’ll…” Sam interrupts him, shaking his hand with a chuckle. “It’ll never happen again.”
“It was hilarious!” You comment somewhat loudly and everyone turns to you, Sam glaring while Scott giggles quietly as you wink at him and wave at Wanda and Clint.
“They tell you what we’re up against?” Steve brings everyone’s attention back on the matter at hand before you and Sam start bickering.
“Something about some… psycho-assassins?” Scott says innocently and you keep in your laugh, hoping Bucky is not offended by Scott’s description of the Winter Soldiers.
“We're outside the law on this one. So, if you come with us, you're a wanted man.” Steve warns him.
“Yeah, well, what else is new?” Scott says casually and you grin. Dude is pretty cool.
“We should get moving.” Bucky says.
“We got a chopper lined up.” Clint says to the group, just as the PA starts announcing something in German, which you fortunately understand.
“Dies ist eine Notsituation." You frown. Emergency? “Alle Passagiere müssen den Flughafen sofort evakuieren.”
You’re about to translate when Bucky beats you to it. “They're evacuating the airport.”
“Stark.” Sam says and you roll your eyes. Yeah, that makes sense, that dramatic diva.
“Stark?” Scott echoes, sounding surprised and not in a good way.
“Suit up.” Steve says in his Captain voice and you know better than to disobey.
-
Steve is in his uniform now as he strides through an underpass, then jogs onto a private runway, heading for the chopper when an electro-disabler slams onto the chopper and Steve looks up.
Tony and Rhodey, both in their Iron Man and War Machine suits, descend and land in front of Steve.
You’re in the terminal with Bucky and Sam as the latter scans the airport to find their Quinjet. You can’t really hear what the others are saying, but you can hear Steve through the earpiece.
“Hear me out, Tony.” Steve tries to reason. “That doctor, the psychiatrist, he's behind all of this.”
You see T’Challa leap over a truck and after a moment Steve says “Your highness.”
You can see Tony talking, you assume trying to get Steve to surrender, before you hear Steve again. “You're after the wrong guy.”
Tony says something else you assume to be about Bucky because of what Steve answers back. ”And there are five more super soldiers just like him. I can't let the doctor find them first, Tony. I can't.”
You can see Natasha talk next and then Tony makes a face and you know he’s done, then you can hear him yelling “Underoos!” through Steve’s earpiece.
Suddenly you see a guy in a red onesie swing in and shoot what looks like webs at Steve, stealing his shield and binding his hands before landing on top of a truck a little wobbly.
You furrow your eyebrows and look at Sam to your right but he’s busy with Redwing so you look at Bucky next to him and he looks just as confused as you do. He meets your eyes and raises an eyebrow in question but you simply shrug and look back at the scene when you hear Steve say. “You've been busy.”
Tony tries his hardest to reason with Steve while, as planned, the Captain patiently listens to him while Sam looks for their Quinjet. “You did that when you signed.” He answers calmly at whatever Tony said.
You can see Tony pleading with Steve, and you almost feel bad but are snapped out of it when Sam finally talks. “We found it. Their Quinjet’s in hangar five, north runway.”
You see Steve raise his arms and one of Clint’s arrows flies through the air and breaks the webs on Steve’s hands, freeing him. “Alright, Lang.” Steve says and Scott enlarges, taking the shield from the guy with the red pajamas with a flip and giving it back to Steve.
“I believe this is yours, Captain America.” Scott says and you chuckle. Dude has a serious man crush.
The two men next to you look confused at what is so amusing, and you merely roll your eyes and say “come on.” as the three of you start running.
As you’re going through the terminal, you see the Spider-man dude stick to the glass outside and all three of your attention goes to him.
“What the hell is that?” Bucky asks as you run.
“Everyone’s got a gimmick now.” Sam sounds really annoyed and obviously you have to tease him.
“That’s a person, not a metal bird, Wilson!” You say.
“Don’t bring Redwing into this!” He yells back, glaring at you as he runs.
“You brought Redwing into this!” You snark back and, before Sam can say anything, Spiderman breaks through the glass towards the three of you, Sam tries to protect you and that causes you both to go crashing into the wall.
You can see Bucky throwing a punch but Spiderman catches his fist easily, shocking all three of us while shouting “You have a metal arm?! That is awesome, dude!”
Sam goes flying into Spiderman and takes him away, while you approach Bucky.
“Did that sound like a kid to you?” you ask him, still looking after Sam and Spiderman.
“Doesn’t matter. Let’s go.” He says starting to go after the other two.
“Matters a little…” You mumble while following Bucky.
You can hear Wanda and Clint talking through the comms, to Tony you assume when Wanda says “You locked me in my room.” and then you hear Clint say “made you look.” just as you see through the window all the cars flying down thanks to Wanda’s magic.
Spiderman wings through the rafters in the terminal, chasing Sam who flies backwards firing shots. Spiderman stops on a high beam and just then Bucky throws a giant piece of metal at him.
You can hear Spiderman yell back “Hey buddy, I think you lost this!” before throwing back the piece of metal, causing Bucky to cover you with his metal arm while it flies back, thankfully missing you both.
Sam takes the opportunity to kick Spiderman and try to bring him down, but Spiderman swings again and webs Sam’s wings, which sends him crashing to the floor. As he gets up, Spiderman webs his hands to the railing behind him and then sticks to a column and starts nerding out about Sam’s wings as you run to help Sam, Bucky right behind you.
You’re too focused on Sam to notice Spiderman swinging towards him at the same time that you get to him, luckily Bucky wraps his arms around you as all three of you crush into the railing and down to the floor on the level below.
As you all land Spiderman quickly webs Sam’s arms together, Bucky’s metal arm to the floor and then your arms, sticking you to Bucky since he was still holding you with one arm as you basically landed on him.
While Spiderman talks over you, you can faintly hear Sam messing around with his gear and you hope he’s doing something useful. Just as Spiderman is about to shoot webs again, Redwing attaches to his wrist and drags him off.
After a beat of silence Bucky says “You couldn’t have done that earlier?” to which Sam answers “I hate you.” and you roll your eyes and say “God, you two are children.”
You do your best to grab your pocket knife and, after a moment of struggling, you succeed then cut the webs off of you and Bucky with a little difficulty. You get up and cut the webs off of Bucky’s metal arm before going to Sam and helping him out of the webs too.
Your heads all snap to the window when you hear the sound of an explosion and can see it just as you hear Scott through the comms saying “Oh, man. I thought it was a water truck. Uh… sorry.”
You frown and turn to Sam and Bucky. “That can’t be good. Let’s go.” The three of you run out of the terminal as fast as you can and when you get outside you meet up with Steve, Scott, Clint and Wanda, all of you running towards the Quinjet.
“Come on!” Steve yells, but your run is interrupted when suddenly a yellow laser makes a line in front of you and you’re all stopped in your tracks. A fucking laser. You look up and see Vision hovering over you.
“Captain Rogers. I know you believe what you're doing is right.” He starts while the rest of Tony’s team gathers around him. Tony flies in while holding Natasha, Rhoday flies T’Challa and Spiderman swings down with one of Dora Milaje, T’Challa’s personal guards, that you saw at the FBI bunker and you think her name is Ayo. “But for the collective good you must surrender now.” Vision finishes talking and there is a moment of silence where you all just look at the opponent directly in front of you, which in your case is Ayo.
“What do we do, Cap?” Sam asks.
“We fight.” Is all Steve says and you hesitate for a second looking at him and then at Ayo.
“Anybody wants to switch?” You ask while looking at your teammates, some look amused but Steve kind of glares at you. “No? Alrighty, then.” You look back ahead as you all start walking, then jogging faster and faster until you’re full on running towards the opposite team.
Tony, Rhodey, Sam, Wanda and Vision take flight and then the first sound that can be heard is Tony’s fist meeting Steve’s shield.
Clint shoots an arrow at Vision that dodges it, Sam bumps into Rhodey mid-air, Scott shrinks and jumps on Natasha, Wanda shoots her magic at Peter while he shoots webs at her and T’Challa straight up jumps onto Bucky.
You lose track of what everyone else is doing once you come face to face with Ayo, who loses no time hitting you with her spear but you luckily dodge it, throwing a punch of your own that she easily avoids. The only thing you can tell is that Nat and Clint are near you fighting, and so are Bucky and T’Challa.
You take out your extendable baton, glad that Clint suggested it, and try to hit Ayo repeatedly, but you miss everytime. You’re getting frustrated when you finally land a hit to her cheek and grin, but you quickly regret it when she kicks you hard on the ribs, sending you flying back.
Ayo jumps on you and raises her spear right over your face, but before she can hit you Wanda sends her flying back far away from you.
You don’t have time to thank her when she’s throwing Natasha off of Clint and into a metal container.
“Geez, Wanda, go easy on them.” You tell her and she gives you a pointed look, before looking at Clint and saying “You were pulling your punches” before walking away.
You and Clint exchange a look but you get distracted by T’Challa throwing Bucky into a container near you. You get into action right away and just as T’Challa is about to claw at Bucky, you push the supersoldier out of the way and you both go stumbling to the side while Wanda throws T’Challa into a big metal container far away from you.
You and Bucky roll a little and, when you stop, you end on top of him. He looks up at you and whispers “Thank you.”
“Anytime, Soldier.” You wink at him and get up, helping him up too. Wanda joins you with an amused look on her face.
“Still think we should go easy on them?” She asks smugly, and you merely roll your eyes.
You’re thankfully distracted by Spiderman knocking Steve off his feet but when you go to help him, you’re intercepted by Natasha.
As you start doing hand-to-hand combat with her, you can hear Scott calling Clint “Arrow Guy” and you almost chuckle, but don’t let it distract you because you know Natasha could seriously hurt you, although it seems like she’s going as easy on you as you are on her.
“Nothing’s changed between us, right Tasha?” You ask, concerned about your friendship as you keep fighting, though it almost feels like any other sparring match you’ve ever had.
She laughs and nods. “Nothing, Y/N/N”.
You grin at the nickname and say “Good” before kicking her a little harder than you’ve ever had and sending her flying back, then you run to Steve and get to him as he points at himself and says. “Brooklyn.”
You frown at him and then look at Spiderman with one of those giant metal walkways people use to get to the planes and your eyes widen.
“That seems a little excessive.” You say, looking back at Steve.
“He’ll be fine.” Steve says shortly and starts jogging away, signaling to you to follow him, which you reluctantly do.
You and Steve are running when you hear Scott say “Uh-oh” through the comms and you frown. “Are you okay, Scott?”
You can hear him panting freaking out, saying “Oh boy. Whoa!”
You and Steve are joined by Bucky as you’re hiding behind some containers and you’re about to ask Scott if he’s okay again when Bucky talks and you turn to him. “We gotta go. That guy's probably in Siberia by now.” You can't help but think how fucking blue his eyes are.
“We gotta draw out the flyers.” Steve says, snapping you out of it and you make up your mind.
“I'll take Vision.” You tell him “You two get to the jet.”
You know Steve’s about to argue when Sam cuts in “No, you get to the jet! All three of you!” He says through the comms. “The rest of us aren't getting out of here.”
“As much as I hate to admit it, if we're gonna win this one, some of us might have to lose it.” Clint chimes in.
You and Steve look at each other and it’s like Sam can sense your hesitation as he says “This isn't the real fight, guys.”
“Alright, Sam, what's the play?” Steve says, his eyes darting between you and Bucky.
“We need a diversion, something big.” he says and you try to think about what you could do.
“I got something kind of big, but I can't hold it very long.” Scott offers “On my signal, run like hell. And if I tear myself in half… don't come back for me.”
You frown and look at Steve and Bucky who seem just as confused as you do. “He's gonna tear himself in half?” Bucky asks.
“You're sure about this, Scott?” Steve asks into his comm.
“I do it all the time. I mean once… in a lab. Then I passed out.” He tries and fails to reassure you.
“That doesn’t make me feel better, like at all.” You say looking from Bucky to Steve, who seem to agree.
You can hear Scott mumbling “I'm the boss. I'm the boss. I'm the boss. I'm the boss. I'm the BOSS!” to himself and then suddenly he grows into a fucking giant of 60-65 feet.
“Jesus fucking Christ.” You say almost in shock.
“I guess that's the signal.” Steve says and starts running towards the jet, you and Bucky following closely.
You can hear Sam saying “Way to go, Tic Tac!” as you run, going past Scott, who stops T’Challa from following you by kicking a bus into him, then Rhodey almost gets to you, but he’s stopped by Wanda.
The three of you are getting closer to the jet when a tower starts falling over the entrance, courtesy of Vision, but Wanda keeps it up with her magic for you.
As you pick up your pace and approach it, you’re stopped by a spear landing right in front of Bucky, missing his foot by a centimeter.
Ayo is about to jump on Bucky but before either him or Steve can do anything to stop her, you throw yourself on her, sending her stumbling back and to the ground, enough distance between you that you have the opportunity to look behind you at Bucky, Steve just behind him with a look that’s both impressed and shocked at your reflexes.
“I got this. Go.” You tell the two men even though your eyes are fixated on Bucky.
“Are you sure?” he asks you with a hint of worry and you grin.
“It’s nothing I can’t handle, Sergeant.” Steve smirks and nods, moving towards the jet again, but Bucky hesitates. You know Wanda won’t be able to keep the path clear forever so you try to reassure him.
“Go, I’ll be fine. Go!” You yell the last word, which seems to snap him out of it and he turns around with a nod, running at full speed towards the Quinjet.
You turn around just in time to see Ayo running towards you, but this time you’re not fast enough and she sends you falling back. You quickly get up and do your best to keep her occupied while the tower that Wanda was keeping up falls to the ground.
Or, more accurately, you're taking her punches while landing little to none yourself.
Ayo gets distracted for a second when she sees Natasha stunning T’Challa and that’s enough to give you the opportunity to take the upper hand and take her down. Unfortunately you don’t notice how close the two of you are to her spear but then again neither does she.
You see Giant Scott get taken down and, while still holding Ayo down as best as you can, you say worriedly through your comm “Scott? Scott, talk to me, are you okay?” There's a pause while you hold your breath and then he says “Does anyone have any orange slices?” And you let out a breathy laugh, both amused and impressed by his resilience.
In the time it took you to check on Scott, Ayo managed to get a hold of her spear, almost driving it through your arm. Thankfully she misses, though it still leaves a pretty deep cut.
Your eyes widen and as you get off of her she wastes no time to go help T’Challa. You lay down on the ground while holding your arm where the cut is and can see the Quinjet taking off so you let out a relieved sigh.
You sit up and, when you see Vision going to Wanda, you smile and get up to gocheck on Scott.
“You alright, big guy?” You ask him as you approach him with a little bit of a limp and he nods chuckling.
“I am. Are you alright? “ He eyes your arm and you nod. “I’m fine.”
Clint approaches you and wraps an arm around you to help you stay up, knowing you’re not gonna ask for help but he can clearly see by your quickly paling face that you need it.
You look towards the Quinjet and your eyes widen when you see Rhodey quickly falling down, Tony and Sam both diving to help him. “Shit…”
You all watch in shock as he hits the ground, Tony lands right beside him and then Sam lands a little further away. You can hear Sam saying “I’m sorry.” right before Tony shoots him and he goes flying backwards.
“SAM!” You yell and try to start making your way to him even if he’s far, but Clint holds you back with his arm around your waist, Scott’s hand on your uninjured arm.
You hold your breath until you hear the faint “I’m okay” in your ear, followed by Sam’s grunts and you relax, mumbling “Thank fucking god…”
You look around the airport, all the destruction and the people you still love despite it all.
Steve and Bucky made it out of here, so you won. At what cost though?
You can just hope this was all worth it.

RATING: General WARNING: Sickness, Stealing food, Kisses
Sam makes chicken noodle soup for everyone when they are sick, the thing is, you have to actually be sick to get the soup. | Sam Wilson/James 'Rhodey' Rhodes/Tony Stark
fluffbruary 2023 | ihb 🗯️ round 4 | swb 🪶 round 3
Tumblr media
On a sick day it is known by everyone in the Avengers tower that Sam Wilson makes chicken noodle soup for the person who is unquestionably sick, Sam brings it down to the fact that when he was younger it is what his mum used to do and it always made him feel better. The one downside is that Sam’s chicken noodle soup is legendary, it tastes perfect with a brilliant mix of beef and chicken stock with roasted spotted potatoes on the side and toast to dip.
People have tried before to fake being sick to get the soup (chough* Clint *cough*) and for some of these people as spies, they don’t do a very good job. Despite no superpowers or  spidey sense, Sam knows when people really are sick it’s a hidden superpower that he uses sparingly.
“Are we really sure he is sick Sam?” Rhodey asks sitting on the kitchen counter swinging his legs back and forth as he watches Sam cook, not an unusual situation. Except for this time Sam is making chicken noddle soup for their partner Tony and Rhodey is suspicious, “he use to act like this all the time during college to get out of classes and exams, are we sure Pepper hasn’t asked for paperwork and  he has just faked a cough?”
It is highly suspicious, in all the years that Rhodey has known Tony the man didn’t get sick, not when they were in college, not when Harley brought home a stomach bug from school that affected everyone else in the tower, the only time Rhodey had even seen Tony throw up was after drinking (which he doesn’t do anymore).
Sam puts down the spoon being used to mix the soup together and turns to Rhodey his hands found themselves on Rhodey’s thighs, “are you questioning my superpower?” He lifts a single eyebrow in expression, teasing Rhodey.
Rhodey just rolls his eyes in retaliation, “you dote on him too much and when he is sick he gets whiny, and now he begs for your special chicken noddle so, up and you just make it for him.” Rhodey points out mouth placed in a frown, “you spoil him too much.”
Laughing Sam goes back to cooking the soup and taking the potatoes out of the oven, hitting Rhodey’s hand when he notices the man trying to steal some of the soup. Sam shakes his hands off on the apron around his waist and begins preparing the meal for Tony, “he is out of the lab right now and is actually sleeping for the first time in a while so if it takes giving him chicken noddle soup to take some time  for himself, I am okay with that sick or not.”
As Rhodey shakes his head and rolls his eyes they can hear the whiny person in question throughout this conversation, “SAMMMMMy, palatapuuuuuuuusss, I need cuddles!” Tony whines from down the hall, so loud that Rhodey is fairly sure anyone down in the common room four floors down could hear.
Smiling Sam takes the soup off the stoves and pours a serving of it into a bowl with soldier bread to go with it, “guess we should give this to him? But first-” Sam raises an eyebrow pointing to his cheek a smile on his face.
Rhodey does as told kissing Sam’s cheek and then jumping off the kitchen counter, “guess our lover needs us?”

He joined her as she dangled her legs off the ledge, the metal cold even through his pyjamas. “Why are we out here?”
“I used to climb fire escapes when I was younger,” Wanda said, watching the skyline, at the lights from the buildings washing them both in a faint glow. “It was a good way to get quiet. When I was very little my Mama would take me out on the one outside my house when I didn’t sleep. It was scary because we never knew if there was going to be an air strike. But we never knew, and even though it was more dangerous than staying inside, it was worth it.”
Peter considered this for a while, before turning to face Wanda. “You didn’t have to share that tradition with me. Thank you.”
“She wouldn’t want me to be sad,” Wanda replied, a soft sadness in her voice. “They always tried their best for us, my parents. They’d be happy I have a family now.”

Grizzly bear rhodey, for any shifter au is either a grizzly bear or golar bear (grizzly and polar) I think their called pizzly.
Steve is a dog shifter, golden doodle or golden Shepard.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Steve is taller (depending on the au) but rhodey shifting, just has height on the guy. Which steve melts (he gets to be smol again).
Clint defaults to a bird. Sorry clint. Sam too.
Natasha is between a reptile or a fox shifter.
Tony cat or a mix of a lynx and lion (lyonx). It's not real.
Bucky a grey wolf. Or also a bear. Maybe a polar bear.
Thor would be a mountain goat (the mythologies)
Loki a snake
Strange a mongoose ;)
Bruce would be a mix (hulk reasons) animal too. Not sure yet, maybe a primate and sloth. Energies funky.
I freaking love getting funky with it.

Prompt idea:
Tony and Rhodey parents to one Peter Parker.
Peter in college and states he is bringing a boy home. A boyfriend. One that Tony and Rhodey didn't even know he had.
Sam Wilson shows up at the door. He knows Colonel Rhodes as he served under him before. Or maybe they both work at the same facility. Sam didn't know that Peter was the Colonels kid.
Tony doesn't want his baby dating but he can see why he choose Sam. Like father like son.
Features over protective Tony and Rhodey.

Pickup Game
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Female!Reader
Word Count: 3509
Warnings: Flirt, Fluff, Smut, Oral (f rec)
Summary: An after party game of pickup lines leads to a confession and an even more fun night in bed.
A/N: Special thanks to my hype princess & beta reader @whisperlullaby.
Tumblr media
The after party of just Avengers and close friends was in full swing. Drinks and laughter flowed as you enjoyed each other's company.
“Okay, okay. Your best pick up line! Let’s have ‘em!” Clint yells over the most recent spate of laughter. “Tony, whatcha got?”
Tony smirks before opening his arms wide and declaring, “I am Iron Man.” He grins as everyone heckles him, “What can I say? Works every time!”
“Really?” Pepper raises an eyebrow.
“Used to! Used to work,” Tony backpedals. “Rhodey, save me here, buddy!”
“Okay, okay,” Rhodey laughs as he glances at Natasha who is standing by him and tugs at his sleeve, “Feel my shirt. Know what it’s made of? Boyfriend material.”
"Nice," Natasha scoffs.
"Let's hear yours then!" Rhodey huffs.
"Ever had a White Russian?" Natasha asks, holding up her glass.
"No," Rhodey looks at her suspiciously.
"Want to?" She says seductively.
Rhodey chuckles, "Smooth. Okay, Clint, what've you got?"
Clint bats his eyes at Sam, standing next to him and says, "Well, here I am. What are your other two wishes, big boy?"
Sam laughs while rolling his eyes, "So, what you guys are telling me is that you have no game?"
"Give us your best then, Rocket Man!"
"You know, dating is a numbers game. So, can I have yours?" Sam grins.
"Boooring!" Tony heckles. "Steve, what's your favorite?"
"I've never been good with pickup lines. That was more Bucky's territory," Steve tilts his head towards the dark-haired super soldier.
"Thanks," Bucky says sarcastically,  "I'm a little out of practice with pickup lines."
"Aw, come on, Buck, give it a shot," you pipe in and then try to hide your embarrassment at having drawn attention to yourself. Even though you hoped he'd test out the line on you. Your attraction to the man was undeniable and you'd harbored a crush since you'd met him. You leaned back against the wall with your hands behind your back and raised your eyebrow in challenge to him.
Bucky's face betrayed a moment of discomfiture before he straightened his shoulders and stepped over to you. He placed a hand on the wall above you, leaning in with a small smirk, "If I told you you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me?"
You could hear some chuckling and comments in the background but it faded as you stared up at Bucky. God, he was fine as hell and you were doing your best to control your erratic heartbeat.
"Sorry, doll, that wasn't very good, huh?"
You don't know where the gall came from but, before you realized what you were doing the words slipped out of your mouth. "Don't worry, Buck, I'm not big on being picked up. I prefer to be pinned down." Your eyebrow raised as you said the words and you smirked, bringing your glass to your lips for a sip.
Bucky's jaw drops as the room erupts in laughter and cheers. Tony crows, "She wins!"
Clint laughs heartily as he agrees, "Hands down!"
After a few moments, you reach up and close Bucky's mouth, “And to answer your questions, yes, I would,” you whisper with a wink as you walk away.
A little while later, the party was winding down and you decided it was time to slip out. Your nerves were getting the better of you. Thoughts ran amuck as to what Bucky thought of you and whether the attraction you felt was reciprocated. He’d been in a conversation with some of the guys since the game ended and you hoped to catch a glimpse, some sign of mutual interest but now you were walking away with your tail between your legs. God, what must he think of you and that brazen comment.
Hitting the button for the elevator, you berate yourself for thinking you ever stood a chance. Your head snapped up when a deep voice whispered, “You know, you have a beautiful body.”
Grinning, you turn and press yourself against Bucky, “Is that so?”
“Yeah,” Bucky smirks at you. Without warning, he stoops and picks you up as if you weigh nothing.
“Bucky!” You squeal as the elevator doors open.
He carries you in, hitting the button for his floor with his elbow, “Don’t worry, doll. I know you aren’t big on being picked up but I’ll have you pinned down soon enough.”
You raise your eyebrow at him, “It was just a line, Buck.”
His confidence falters for a second, “Oh, uh-”
“Don’t worry, baby. I wouldn’t have said it if I didn’t mean it,” you smirk.
“Oh, you’re naughty,” Bucky laughs.
“I prefer ‘playful’.”
“I like playful,” Bucky adjusts you in his arms so that your back is pressed to the elevator wall and your faces are at the same level.
You use the opportunity to wrap your legs around him and look at him expectantly.
“Can I kiss you?” He asks.
You’re surprised by the request after the way he’d handled you. It warmed your heart that he would seek your consent and you couldn’t help the smile that spread across your face, “Please.”
The kiss is intense. He presses into you as his lips move over yours. His tongue slips out seeking entry and you oblige him immediately. You separate only when the elevator dings your arrival. He lowers your legs gently and takes your hand. Leading you down the hallway, Bucky says awkwardly, “I, uh, was kind of surprised when you, um, said that tonight.”
“What? The pickup line?” You tilt your head as you look at him.
“No, the… thing you whispered afterwards.”
“Really, why?” You thought your feelings for him were fairly obvious.
“I mean, I’m a mess and you’re so put together. I just,” he shrugs, “kinda thought you were out of my league, ya know.”
“No,” you laugh, “no, I don’t know. I have never thought of myself as put together.  Thanks for that but I’m kind of a mess, too. I think we all are in our own ways.”
“Yeah, I guess that’s true,” Bucky smiles as he opens his door and guides you in.
You suddenly feel awkward as you walk inside the room. The passion displayed in the elevator had mellowed as you walked and talked together into a camaraderie. You were unsure how to get back to it.
“Would you like a drink?” Bucky asks as he comes up behind you, his lips brushing your neck and his hands caress your hips. You jump a little at the unexpected contact.
“I think I had enough earlier,” you breathe, heat pooling between your legs.
“I haven’t had enough, I haven’t had nearly enough. I need another taste,” Bucky says as he turns you around to capture your mouth. You oblige him willingly, snaking your arms around his neck as you arch into him.
Abandoning any reserve you would normally have, you reach for the buttons on his shirt. He reaches for the zipper of your dress but his hands still. You pull back to look at him curiously.
“You’re sure?” He asks.
You smile and pull the tails of his shirt from his pants while saying, “Barnes, if you don’t get me naked and pin me down, I will never forgive you.”
He pulls you against him forcefully, grinning as he pulls down your zipper, “We can’t have that.”
Clothes are discarded quickly as he backs you to the bed. Bucky slides his hands into your panties to grab your ass and you gasp when he picks you up. Laying you on the bed he pulls your panties off. You expect him to follow you down but instead his eyes take a slow path up your body. Propping yourself on your elbows, you resist the urge to cover yourself but tremble as he studies you. He smiles, grabs a discarded t-shirt, and rips the bottom half from it. Your eyebrow raises at the display.
“And what do you plan to do with that, Sgt. Barnes?”
His smirk as he advances has butterflies dancing in your stomach. He grabs your arms, twists the shirt around your wrists, and hauls them above your head as he pins you to the bed.
“Happy now?” Bucky rumbles as he kisses your neck.
“Almost. I’d like these off,” you use your legs to pull at the underwear he still has on, “and an orgasm or two would be nice.”
Holy shit, you don’t know where this confidence had come from. Maybe because Bucky wanted you. Maybe because of whatever drink that was that Natasha had handed you. Whatever it was, you were enjoying the results.
“Only one or two?” Bucky teases as he nibbles along your clavicle. “I bet I can do better.”
“Is that so?” You gasp as his tongue plays over your nipple.
“Mm-hm,” he murmurs before plucking at your other nipple with his lips. He lets go of your hands that are still bound above your head as he slides his tongue down your stomach. Your breathing picks up when he reaches your navel and proceeds to kiss his way down to your mound. Your eyes screw shut to take in every sensation. When he spreads your legs further apart, you feel the contrast of warm skin and cool metal on your thighs. Anticipation builds, making you lick your lips and you can’t help the whimper that slips out when you feel a gentle finger trace your slit.
“Fuck,” Bucky whispers reverently before his tongue follows the same path as his fingers. His metal arm curls around your leg and he rests his hand on your abdomen, effectively holding you in place as he explores your folds. It was almost unbearable, the way his tongue slid around to touch everywhere but where you needed him most.
“Bucky, please,” you whimper desperately.
His chuckle rumbles against your core. His fingers replace his tongue, taking the same lazy path. “Poor baby, am I not giving you what you want?” His finger tip barely grazes your clit and you whine. “Are you feeling needy?” His finger circles your entrance and his tongue gives the softest lick to your clit. Your hips flex, desperate for more friction, making Bucky press his metal hand more firmly against you. “I like seeing you like this.” Another small lick to your clit. “Wet, under me, and so desperate.”
“Bucky, pleeeaase,” you can’t keep the whine out of your voice. You don’t think you’ve ever been quite so turned on and the teasing was making you a writhing mess.
“Say please again and maybe I’ll give you what you want.”
“Please!” the word rushes out of you. His fingers and tongue driving you mad.
His tongue moves slowly, lapping back and forth over your clit while his finger still teases. It’s maddeningly delicious but not enough at the same time. He holds your hips hostage, not allowing you to move. You mewl with each motion of his tongue over you, your body on fire and screaming for just a little more until your mouth opens to plead, “More! Oh, god, I need more!”
Bucky lifts his head, a devilish smirk across his mouth, “Oh, precious, you didn’t say please. We’ll have to start all over again now.” His finger goes back to tracing the slow path over your cunt.
“What?” You gape at him as he plays with you.
“You didn’t say please, doll,” Bucky repeats, allowing his lips to brush over your thigh, far too far from where you wanted his lips.
You felt like crying. You felt like screaming. You felt like ripping off your bindings, flipping him over, and riding his face until you came all over it. Unfortunately, you knew you’d never overpower him and, if you were really honest with yourself, this little game he was playing was hot as fuck. You’d never been treated like this and he had made you a gushing mess.
“I’m sorry, Bucky. Please, please, I need more,” you whimper at him with doe eyes, hoping for a reprieve.
“You need more, precious?” Bucky’s finger grazes lightly over your clit.
“Oh, please!” Your hips try to buck against his hold but he merely chuckles as he holds you in place easily. His finger circles your clit slowly as his tongue takes a meandering path up your thigh.
“Please, baby, please!” You whine as he makes his way back to your apex and are rewarded when his tongue takes the place of his finger. His motions are still slow and deliberate while his finger brushes over your entrance again causing you to clench around nothing. Desperate for more, you start to say the one word you know will earn you some relief, “Plea- OOH!!!-” In the middle of your plea, his finger had entered you and he sucked on your clit suddenly. “Yes, fuck, please, please, please…,” the word became your only mantra as he fucked you with fingers and tongue. Your legs began to shake and then he curled his fingers into that perfect spot, making bright white flash before your eyes and a scream rend from your throat. You came hard, your muscles clenching. Your legs try to close but Bucky’s broad shoulders between them keep you open to him. He laps at you through the aftershocks.
“Fuck, I could stay here for days,” Bucky groaned. His fingers curled slowly as his tongue made gentle licks.
You gasped and moaned, words and thoughts hard to come by in the haze. “Bucky,” you finally manage to whisper his name as if it was the sweetest endearment.
“I know. I know, doll. Don’t worry, I’m not done yet,” his mouth nuzzled you as he said the words. Flicks of his tongue came closer together, “I need another one from you, precious. Gotta hear you make those sweet sounds again.”
“Bucky, oh, fuck. Please, it’s so good,” you gasp the words out, nearly overstimulated and yet still desperate for his touch.
“You know how hard I am hearing you say that?” Bucky groans against your clit, vibrations coursing through you. His tongue begins moving faster, making swift circles.
“I… I- fuck. Please,” you stutter, unable to form sentences anymore. Bucky’s fingers curl more firmly into that spongy spot inside and your back tries to arch despite his arm holding you firmly in place. He was moving his tongue as if his sole purpose in life was to make you fly into a million pieces. You were a whimpering mess, unable to form words and so close to the edge again. When he growled against you again, your eyes flew open and you looked down your body at him. His cobalt eyes met yours and the intensity in his gaze was a hit straight to your core. Your muscles began to spasm as you watched him, so focused on your pleasure and aroused by your responses. Your scream is stifled by the overwhelming intensity of the orgasm that rips through you. Your hands flex around the bonds that hold them in place.
As Bucky kisses his way back up your body, you manage to come back to yourself… mostly. You wanted to touch him, to hold him against you, to run your hands over his body. You attempt to untwist your hands from the scrap of t-shirt but the deceptively loose looking knot doesn’t budge.
“Bucky, baby, please can you untie me?” You whisper.
Bucky had paused at your breasts to show them some attention. They were deserving of the most reverent of worship in his mind. His tongue traced your nipple before he spoke, “Why? I’ve got you tied up, pinned down, and perfectly on display for me.”
“I want to touch you, please,” you gasp as he takes your nipple into his mouth to gently suckle.
“Hmm,” he muses as he makes his way to your other breast, giving it the same loving attention. “If you’ll answer a question for me.”
“Anything,” you sigh, enjoying each motion of his mouth over you. You feel the rumble of his chuckle at your quick response.
“How long?” He asks.
You slide your leg to brush against his cock, still covered by his boxer briefs before saying cheekily, “I didn’t bring a measuring tape with me but I’d say more than adequate.”
Bucky lets out a small moan at the contact and then chuckles, “Not what I meant.”
“Then what did you mean, baby?”
“How long did I waste not having you in my bed?” Bucky asks as he brings his face level to yours.
“You mean, how long have I wanted you or are you asking how long I’ve liked you?”
“Both,” Bucky narrows his eyes but gives you a small smile.
“If I’m really honest, I’ve always wanted you. You’re kinda hot, ya know?” You smile and bite your lip.
“And the other?” Bucky asks, flexing his hips into you so that his hard cock nestles between your legs.
You gasp and arch into him, “About five minutes after meeting you.”
“Seriously, when?” Bucky scoffs gently.
“You were so sweet and a little self-conscious and I just adored you,” you nudged his nose with yours, encouraging his lips to find yours. He kissed you, long and lovingly, while he released your hands. You both seemed to settle into each other as your hands explored, finally free. The heat began to return, hips flexing into each other, craving the friction, but before things got too carried away, you cradled Bucky’s face in your hands and forced him to look at you. “How long?” You repeat his question.
“Always,” he whispers passionately before taking your mouth again.
It was all you needed. You reached for the band of his underwear, wanting nothing left to separate you. You managed to get the offending garment off of him and circle his cock with your hand. He takes a sharp intake of breath and then groans. Definitely more than adequate, you think to yourself.
“Doll,” Bucky presses his forehead to yours, “I need to be inside you.”
“Oh, precious, you didn’t say please,” you tease him, rubbing the head of his cock through your slick. Your core aches to be filled but you can’t resist the chance to tease him just a bit as he’d done to you earlier.
Bucky chuckles, “Knew I should have kept you tied up.”
You rub the head of his cock over your clit and whimper loudly in his ear, “I still haven’t heard it.” You pump him in your hand but still won’t let him slip into you despite his attempts to maneuver his hips.
“Fuuuuck, please!” Buchy growls, sending a jolt of pleasure through you.
You waste no time lining him up with your entrance. He presses in a few agonizingly slow inches before grabbing your hands and hauling them above your head. He stares into you as he growls out, “I should pin you down,” he sinks in a little more, “and tease you mercilessly.” His hips slide slowly forward until he’s fully seated inside of you. “But I don’t think either of us would survive it right now.” He slides out a couple of inches before snapping his hips forward, taking your breath away. He sets a slow but driving pace, staring into your eyes as he fucks you. His hands slide down to hold your face and he kisses you fiercely, his thrusts coming a little faster as he does. You wrap your arms around his chest, pulling him to you, sliding one down to grab onto his ass. You encourage every movement, the drag of his cock tipping you closer to the precipice.
He buries his face in your neck, whispering praises and encouragement, “Shit, you’re squeezing me so tight, doll.”
“Bucky, fuck, I’m gonna-,” your breath catches as you fall over the edge. Your body sings as you come, trembling and moaning with each wave.
“You’re so fucking pretty, doll. So fucking pretty,” Bucky grits out as you clench around him. It only takes a few more sloppy thrusts for him to lose himself inside you. His hips flex with each aftershock that hits him.
Rolling to his side, Bucky pulls you against him. You nuzzle his chest as you both catch your breath. Despite the lethargy settling over both of you, Bucky's hands wander continuously over your skin and you bask in the attention.
“You'll stay, won't you?” Bucky whispers.
“I don't know,” you say sleepily, “Do you hog the covers?”
Bucky chuckles, “I'm pretty good at sharing.”
“Mmm, then I'll stay,” you yawn and a little giggle escapes you.
“What?” Bucky smiles at your mirth-filled eyes.
“That's the first time a cheesy pick up line ever worked on me,” you giggle again.
“I'll have to come up with some others. See if I get lucky again,” Bucky laughs as he kisses the top of your head.
“I'd say your chances are pretty good,” you smirk at him, “But maybe next time, I should be the one to pin you down.”
“Only if you say please, doll.”
