spoilers for totk if you havent gotten this far yet but . . .

is anyone else a little dissapointed that the zora sage is... literally no different from the zora of the modern era??? 

i mean like i know there’s only so much you can customize when it comes to the zora but... you could have at least made her head-tail a little longer or added a few extra designs on her body

i just feel cheated bc every other sage has attractive new designs n stuff meanwhile the zora sage looked like bazz’s distant cousin

When we saw Link wake up in the Resurrection Chamber and walk out into an unknown, ravished world, my breath was taken away. Breath of the Wild was an amazingly beautiful game with an immense open world to explore. It could be overwhelming or get boring at times, but I’ve always come back to it, getting lost for hours upon hours. 

I felt for Link. He woke in a strange place, no memories or really any clues. I felt that way the first time I woke up in Basic Training....that whole, where am I and what’s going on? I figured the fear and resolve I felt in those moments were similar to the ones Link likely felt. We saw him travel the vastness of Hyrule, meeting people who knew him from a life he could no longer remember. They knew him, but he didn’t know them. How strange that must have felt. 

Some were very unkind to him, while others patiently and slowly built a new relationship with him while giving him clues about his former life. He got to create these bonds all over again, or create new ones. The friendships he made with members of the Rito, Gerudo, Zora, Gorons, and the rest of Hyrule we strong and united by a desire to fight an ancient evil. We see these friends return in Tears of the Kingdom. They’ve grown older, which is really only evident in two of our old friends. 

Link travels across Hyrule again...luckily, with his memories this time. We have our friends from before, fighting for their respective regions, while also trying to fight for Hyrule as a whole. We soon discover that these friends aren’t just the ones we saw related to the former Champions. Their destiny reaches back to the founding of Hyrule itself. Their destiny is linked to the Sages of old. Those gifted with extraordinary abilities, from each tribe, who pledged their lives to the first king of Hyrule, and to the eventual hero who would need their help in the far future.

As Link helps each of these descendants free their regions from the horrors unleashed during the upheaval, they learn of their distant relatives and what they did. They, too, make the same vow that their ancestors made so long ago. They pledge their lives to fight alongside Link against the returned Demon King, Ganondorf. And with this vow, they lend their powers to Link to use while they aren’t physically with him. We later discover that there is a way to strengthen the bond between Link and each of the sages. It’s ancient bits of the Sage’s Will, their power and vow, contained in orbs. Travel across the ancient Sky Islands and search them out with me.

Goddessdammit Linky, pull yourself together!! I headcanon that after the "The Dragon's Tears" and "Crisis at Hyrule Castle" quests, Link's behavior is so erratic and self-destructive that Purah and the sages strap him to chair and make an INTERVENTION!! They are WORRIED!! 😢 Poor Link misses Zelda so much💔💔💔

But! he has FRIENDS and they CARE FOR HIM ♥♥ ------

If there's one thing that I really love about tears of the kingdom, it's that you're no longer alone.

Breath of the wild really makes you feel the lonliness, everything is so big and so empty and quiet.

In tears of the Kingdom that's no longer the case, you have the sages with you at all times and you fight together and its Just ah. Very nice. Me Like it a lot

Refs for the ancient Zora Sage of Water!! I honestly thought they reused Mipha for the model but I was wrong!! I'm also fond of the green marking she has near her eyes it kinda looks like she's wearing eyeshadow

ok i Know i KNOW link is just so tiny compared to sidon that he always has to bend down like that to shake hands but LIKE.
