confession time, the s1 e!gem that is always brainrotting is pretty different from canon s1 e!gem (from what i can remember) so i'm going to talk about my pantheon au version of gem

i like to think gem would say, "it's free to be a hater" after sausage or fwhip does some stupid shit. on a more serious note, i feel there has to be some genuine resentment towards them two for dragging her into their bs, even if it's not a lot it is there. gem killing sausage in that one important lore bit was so cathartic to her

gem really admires katherine mainly because of how non involved she is with everything. she always feels the need to help everyone (see my gem character analysis post), and the fact that katherine just steps back is enviable to her

in my head, gem also uses a lot more fire magic than she does in the series; this contracts nicely with katherine's nature magic. gandalf, her cat, will decide if they like a person or not, and that will be gem's first impression of a person. it's quite hard to break from it too

now i'm going to dip in to some hc s8 territory, but it will come back to esmp s1. at the start of the series, gem has no clue she is bi and false is actually her gay awakening. gem looks up to her a lot, and she watches her run away and leave her friends behind. this leads to her reaction during the rapture (season ending), where she only takes fwhip because he directly asked, instead of helping out everybody. like come on, they both fly away on their base defining organic

fwhip and gem were royalty, but because gender roles, their parents were forcing gem to be king (trans roseblings tust), gem felt like her only option was to run away. when she finds out about the crown made by fwhip, she is a little uncomfortable with the concept but doesn't say anything. though when others try to convince her she should get it gem is beyond pissed

before she ran away, pearl showed her all about rifts (it has something to do with amethyst shards, but that's a whole different post) and offers to take her to hermitcraft, which she refuses. until she wants to run away and then goes to the place she wants to set up her village and then goes to another world while everyone is searching for her

gem's relationship with shrub is very unique because she so wants to just yell at them for bringing xornoth to the overworld and then spreading it across her place. on the other hand, she sees herself in them as someone who also ran away from home. but then that gets ruined when she is infected with xornoth via shrub

when she still lived with her family, pearl and sausage lived in neighboring empires, and they all grew up together. gem and sausage dated a bit when they were really young, so they are exs on technicality. most of her romantic feelings have gone away, but whenever sausage firts with her, a crush appears for a day and then goes away. she hates this more than anything else. then they grow up, and gem realizes she likes women and then realize she likes pearl specifically. and then pearl and sausage get together (actually qpr, but gem doesn't know that), and she swears off of romance

and the connection to the void and the end and all that stuff is a pretty important part of this au but ehhhh y'know

My Magi LGBTQIA+ Headcanons

Ok, I've been working on this list since January. I still probably forgot some. I haven't worked out all my SnB ones yet and about half the Rens. It takes me an inordinate amount of time to sort them out. The only ones I'm really set on are the aspec ones because I'm biased (that's me, I'm AA and proud).

All that to say I may update this list or do a second part. Most likely won't be for a while since I'd want to to add a good chunk before I commit more to the wild.

Also, if you disagree, that's cool. My list though~ I love hearing other people's hcs but I am not up to arguing over mine. I know you guys are chill but to ensure we are on the same page :)

Leila and Sahsa: You can't tell me the manga didn't start off with a lesbian love story with a little shit child playing mediator.

Judar: He very gay.

Aladdin: Genderfluid. I just like the idea of him having everyone constantly guessing as a child of chaos. They're also vying to take that title from Judar. I also can't place who the kid will be interested in but none of his friends are around the same age.

Titus: Trans gay guy.

Yunan: Doesn't really have much attachment to gender. He wouldn't really describe it as a lack of gender yet won't turn down using agender. Gender neutrois also works. Uses any pronouns.

Scheherazade: Cupiosexual. She yearns for being able to have sexual attraction but it just never has occurred for her. After a few decades she had accepted it about herself. The most common form of attraction she feels is alterous attraction (often explained as the space between romantic and platonic attraction).

Hakuryuu: He has messy chemistry with everyone. Bi disaster through and through.

Morgiana: Ace and questioning. She hasn't figured it all out yet but her friends are there to support her. (hi, yes, this is me projecting weeee)

Alibaba: Bisexual and clueless. So if you ask, he won't be able to answer but he also picked up on Sinbad's natural ability to flirt with anybody without trying too hard.

Hakuei: Lesbian

Koumei: Bisexual. I mentioned with the art I made on my own blog that I designed Koumei around the bi colors without realizing it. Nothing in my mind has changed to refute that so that's what I'm still going with. I do think it fits him.

Sphintus: Gay. I can see him being biromantic as well, but mostly into guys.

Sinbad: Pansexual and greyromantic. I won't go into it again more here. He's the best most clueless and suave person ever.

Jafar: Homoromantic demisexual. He likes guys but also without any strong connection to go off of he doesn't really register how people can be attractive.

Drakon: Omnisexual. There's attraction to guys, women, and enbies, all slightly different to each other. Preference for women.

Mystras: Also very gay.

Pisti: Aegoromantic. She gets invested in other people's (mainly her friends') love lives, and loves love stories, but whenever she tries getting into a relationship it never sits right for her. She won't mind an intimate relationship though knows it won't be romantic (after a bit of denial). After my brain came up with this I started projecting like hell and I don't give a fuck XD.

Mu: Mspec of some variety. I don't think he will be bothered by either bi or pan. Queer will work just as well. He will be down for anyone, you know? Going off queer history circles I've seen conversations and jokes that no one in Ancient Rome is monosexual. Mu feels like the person it will apply to the most. I'm going with it.

I joked to myself that the majority on Alma Toran are mspec or aspec. With longer lifespans for humans, a good handful are aspec because of the lack of incentive to have kids or families quickly. I would have posted about it last year during my Alma Toran posting in October and during ace week, but alas. I'm now posting it here lol.

Anyway, my Alma Toran hcs:

Solomon: Demisexual. Hasn't spent time thinking about it because he didn't expect to marry so young. It doesn't bother him though, not that he could explain his sexuality well.

Setta: Aroace. All ice mages are aroace because I said so. (except Judar, dude can have as many guys as he wants)

Isnan: Gay

Falan: Bi. Growing up she didn't have the chance to explore her sexuality. She won't deny it if asked though is perfectly happy in her relationship.

Ugo: Bi and aceflux.

Paimon: Also bi. She flirts too much with Ugo not to be (though I do know some lesbians and non-interested in men peeps who flirt with guys for shits and giggles without much feeling. Poison Ivy being the main lesbian I think of for this).

Arba: Non-sam aro. I tried to figure out her sexuality and I know it's not ace, but it's still too wrapped up in being aromantic. Non-sam is the closest I could figure.

Tess: Demiboy. The idea just burrowed into my head and hasn't left so I'm going with it. He is fine with he/they pronouns, yet the only people allowed to get away with calling him little boy are his parents.

That's all I got. For the moment, at least. If I try to figure everyone out I won't get around to finishing this till pride next year. If ever >>. As I said, I may update the list or post a second part.

Hey does anybody want Orpheus headcanons

The answer is yes. Here you go!

okey dokey so. When Orph was a wee, wee lad, about two years old, his mother Calliope made a descision. She couldn’t provide for the both of them, and, considering just how difficult little kids are, forced herself to give him to someone that would actually be able to care for him. 

Hermes found the child on his doorstep one evening with a note from his old friend, whom was never seen again.

Now, Hermes knew as much about parenting as Calliope did, so he wasn’t. Thrilled with this sudden happening. 

But the kid’s mama was a dear, dear friend of his, ever since they were young adults. And Orpheus’s huge, curious eyes sure were cute.

Orpheus doesn’t remember much of this, but he feels guilty about it nonetheless. Why'd he have to make things so hard for his mother? Why did he have to be such a burden?

And so, Orpheus was very timid around Hermes during those first few months together. However, if there’s one virtue Hermes has mastered, it’s patience. Slowly, he learns of Orpheus’s boundaries, what he likes to talk about, and what he really likes to talk about. Orpheus goes from standing shyly under Hermes’ stature to constantly attatching himself to Hermes’ leg.

When Persephone arrived one summer to find this child clinging to Hermes, her oncoming slew of questions faded into “awwwwww”s. 

She put it upon herself to pitch in with Hermes’s parenting journey a bit, offering to watch Orpheus and teach him a few things.

It puts things into perspective for her, actually. She realizes that, in the wake of her + Hades' quarreling, the environmental and economic upheaval will, in fact, hurt the Surface people she cares about.

Anyway, back to the main boy. Orpheus loved music from a teeny-tiny age - he was almost always humming some random tune. And if Orpheus wasn’t humming, then boy, did that kid ask a ton of questions.

Orpheus gets a mini-guitar as a gift from Hermes. He’s pretty much self-taught.

Orph learned the “la-la-la-la” tune as a lullaby from Calliope. Hermes would sing it to the boy every night.

As he grows older, Orph gets better and better with music, impressing nearly everyone in town with how quickly he’s learning. (Nearly, because there's always Some Guy, I suppose).

Hermes tried to get Orpheus to work at the bar, but they realized that loud, demanding crowds were Not Very Nice to Orph’s sensory issues. So, he works as the bar bard. Bar bard. That’s fun to say. 

As usual, the backstory dump is over, so now we get into the fun stuff 

Though Orpheus is a great musician, he’s also an expert cook, carver, and sewer. Hermes taught him most of these skills. Orph is just... really good with his hands.

Autistic Orpheus is canon, but that doesn’t mean I can’t make up one billion self-projections More Headcanons! He’s got big sound + light sensitivity, stims vocally, LOVES anything soft/fluffy, and has RSD (rejection sensitive dysphoria). He used to have a harmful stim of digging his nails into his hand when stressed, but through some gentle working-arounds with Hermes, that’s been reduced to pinching the skin.

He’s also bi and trans because i said so. i make the rules now

Orpheus can’t talk if overwhelmed, so he and Hermes know ASL. Orpheus taught Eurydice ASL as well in case he needed to communicate with her, and the first thing he taught her (in a nervously clever way) was “I love you”. 

He gets his musical inspiration from watching the world around him. Thankfully, he’s a glass-half-full kind of guy, so many of his songs bring a much-needed joyfulness to the bar-goers’ lives.

When Orpheus meets Eurydice, his songs grow romantic veeerrryyy quickly.

Orph has a very, very extreme fear of death that only worsens during his Hadestown shenanigans. It's not much of a surprise, since he's the #1 fan of life + living.

The BIGGEST cuddlebug ever, loves hugs, loves snuggles. With Eurydice, though, he took it super slowly, only touching her when she was comfortable. In a few months, though, her favorite place turned out to be Orpheus’s arms :)

He’s not that great at making friends because he is too shy to say anything. He's really nice to bar-goers, of course, but he can't seem to go past that.

Orph cries easily, but not just when he’s upset. He’ll see one of those mice that sleep in flowers and tear up. 

He's actually pretty strong, doing all of the heavy lifting in the bar for Hermes n such. He will never use this strength against anybody, though.

Orph has terrible spring allergies :/ it's a shame bc he loves spring

Eurydice is Orpheus's first and only love.

He thinks his singing is. okay, but not great. But he will hype up Eurydice’s dancing and (occasional) singing like crazy. 

He's vegetarian and likes any kind of cheese or soup. And he likes strawberries!

Not a morning person, much to the amusement of early-bird Eurydice.

Gonta Gokuhara ; Straight, drinks his respect women juice, because that’s exactly what a gentleman does. 💕

Rantaro Amami ; AroAce, I think it’s also heavily implied, but I really do rock with this interpretation too. 💕

Korekiyo Shinguuji ; AroSpec Pansexual, but I also support the headcannon that Kiyo was gr**med by his sister because I feel like it makes sense, that may be a hot take, but I’m not too sure. 🤔

Ryoma Hoshi ; Probably also straight, however, Ryoma doesn’t seem like the type to put a whole lot of thought or desire in relationships. 💅🏻

K1-B0 / Keebo ; Pan !! I definitely don’t see Keebo as the type to think gender is the most important thing in a relationship. He’s still learning about the romance aspect, he’s new at it. 💕

Kaito Momota ; I’m going with either bi or straight ally Kaito, I could see both being feasible, but either way, I think it took him awhile to get the the point of not being homophobic. ✨

Kaede Akamatsu ; Just like Sayaka, she is one hundred percent a basic straight girl with a very generic taste in men. 💃🏻

Tsumugi Shirogane ; Probably pan, she probably also doesn’t care much for serious relationships, but through cosplay, realized everyone makes her a bit ‘awooga’. 💕

Kirumi Tojo ; Also AroAce !! Kirumi doesn’t think much about relationships, and even when confronted with the topic, she recognizes that she doesn’t care much for personal romantic / sexual relationships. She’s just here to do her job, man. ✨

Tenko Chabashira ; That right there is a lesbian, though I’m sure she hasn’t connected the dots yet. Yes, wanting to kiss the homies Goodnight on the lips is a little bit 💅🏻, Tenko. 💃🏻

Angie Yonaga ; Angie is also a lesbian and I can’t be convinced otherwise. However, she’s one hundred percent not ready for anything serious. 💅🏻

LOTR LGBTQ+ Headcanon, because I need a break

Frodo - (He/They) Never ever looked in the direction of a woman in the slightest. Sam is in the way. Have you seen them being able to resist the ring? In the same way has he resisted being with another man... Baby twink must be protected. Talking about their gender is a whole other story but for now Frodo’s fine presenting as male, but Frodo senses deep within them there’s more to his identity. With lost of encouragement from Pippin and Merry Frodo tried using both they and he pronounce and it made him very happy. 

Sam - (He/him) Sweetest most supporting bisexual anyone has ever encountered. Stayed in the closet for many years and was quite alright staying in there, until Frodo broke off the closet doors. Frodo made his heart open up like never before, it was like a burden had lifted off his shoulders. Sam is open to gender but finds it confusing sometimes, especially when it comes to picking/using pronounce. He feels like a man at heart but hasn’t closed any doors.

Gandalf - (All of them pronounce, simply cuz it’s tiring to keep track of them all) Of course they are a lgbtq+ veteran and gladly takes on the role of teaching and protecting the little baby gays out there. Gender is something Gandalf forgot many times due to ze not having a gender and has been reminded many times that it still is a thing that exists. It doesn’t matter when you are one of the most powerful beings on middle earth thanks to lack of sexual and romantic attraction. 

Pippin - (Ze/hir & they/them) Poor thing has lots of history struggling with gender but thanks to Merry they came to realize ze where genderfluid. As for sexuality and romantic attraction, it’s just a mess. Pippin just wants to love and be free to do whatever basically. I imagine hir likes to frequently try new names and different pronounce to prove his point. Is always the first one to ask what pronounce people use when the fellowship meets new people and thereby gets inspired. 

Merry - (They them) They had a juorney as well because no one really tought them that nonbinary was a thing. I see hobbits as people that are a bit traditional species and need more learning around the area. Merry first didn’t believe there could be an explanation to why they didn’t feel like either a man or a woman. Now they are perfectly happy being in the middle of all the spectrums. Merry is bi and is alos in the middle of the asexual spectrum! To be brutally honest Merry tell themslef they are on spectrums to try not go crazy like Pippin who’s just as lost as Merry.

Gimli - (He/they/she, dwarfs don’t really care) There’s no surprise when I say Gimli is a proud pansexual, as almost all dwarfs are either bi or pan. It’s the most normal thing to them in taking liking to all genders, bodies and personalities. There are too many goof looking individuals out there to be close minded! It goes without saying Gimli likes to have a plate full of all the options there is to middle earth. Their type happened to land on a gender nonconforming elf at the moment. Gimli is a cis male but wouldn’t be offended if someone saw him differently. 

Legolas - (All pronounce, cuz since when are elves concerned about gender?) When all elves present kind of similar to each other Legolas has no fear of presenting gender non-comforming, it is the standard. Because elves are open about different way of being. It has reduced the whole coming out part (elves just are what they are, magical beings). If ze had to put a lable on themself it would be nonbinary. Legolas likes to reflect a lot and elves in general change throughout their many lives so Legolas believe herself to be gay for the moment. 

Aragorn - (He/him) Compared to other humans he is by far the best ally who wants to learn all about the lgbtq+ community. If he had time to settle down for a bit he could write a whole thesis to feed the homo-,bi-, pan-, trans-, nonbinary-, ace-, aro- & intersexhpobic folks. Aragorn is that one friend who is always there to help correct people misgendering his friends pronounce. He and Arwen has talked a lot about whether he is somehow apart of the lgbtq community because Arwen sees herself as pan and nonbinary. Just like Sam Aragorn has his doors open.

Penny is a lesbian, and is dating Maru, who is bi. They wanna make it more official, but Penny isn’t quite ready to come out to Pam yet. She’s come out to those who she really trusts, like Maru’s family and Sam, and they’re all incredibly supportive.

When Penny does come out to Pam, she lets her daughter know that she’ll love her unconditionally, and supports her completely. It’s a hug and cry fest.

Sebastion is demisexual, as well as ftm trans!! Although you wouldn’t think it, he’s kinda spooked by needles, so Abby and Sam give him his T shot for him!

This one I got from the mod ‘Life Cycle’ by nraittanna on nexus mods, but I feel like Leah has a huge thing for Haley. She found herself sketching Haley at the flower dance one year and has been crushing ever since.

Haley eventually has mutual feelings, but deals with a lot of internalized homophobia at first. They eventually become cute artsy gfs, and have picnics where Haley will take photos(often of Leah) and Leah will paint or draw ❤️❤️❤️

Gus gives me bi vibes, I feel like him and Willy maybe used to date a little, back in the day. He still goes on blind dates every now and again, but doesn’t really want to be in a serious relationship at the moment.

Emily is poly, she’s currently in an open relationship with Sandy. I feel like this is canon at this point. I also feel like Emily is mtf trans! She uses she/they pronouns ❤️

Sam really wants to do drag, but doesn’t really know much about makeup so he feels a little intimidated. Abby and Seb are very supportive tho.

I'm curious!! We know our lovely girl is trans, but what do you think her sexuality is?? I know she seems mainly interested in men; but wasnt it at least insinuated that she was in a relationship with Madam Red?

(Answering these together since they’re closely related)

The short answer: I suspect that Yana intended Grelle to be straight, but there is room within the text to read her as bisexual and to interpret her relationship with Madame Red as romantic.

The long, rambly answer: Throughout the manga, Grelle’s primary romantic interest has been directed at male (or at least male-presenting) characters, such as William, Sebastian, and Undertaker, and her interactions with Kuro ladies other than Angelina have been few and far between. Although I haven’t been able to track down the link, I believe Yana once tweeted that she envisioned Grelle and Madame as being “like sisters.” Thus, the narrative that sensei appears to be pushing is that Grelle is sexually and romantically attracted to men.

However, a mangaka’s intentions might not always align with the way a character is coded. For example, Ohba and Obata, the creators of Death Note, are notorious for having less-than-stellar attitudes towards the queer community. Yet protagonist Light Yagami merely views the women in his life (when he thinks of them at all), as pawns in his game. His fixation on his rival L borders on obsession, and the man dies cradled in Light’s arms. I doubt that Ohba and Obata set out to depict Light as gay, but the man sure doesn’t come across as straight. 😂

Grelle is a bit like that; if you view the Jack the Ripper arc through a sapphic lens, it’s hard not to see her and Angelina as more than just gal pals. Their collaboration wasn’t a one-time deal. Grelle knowingly broke multiple reaper laws, willingly disguised herself as a man (which must have been extremely dysphoria-inducing for her), and stayed by this woman’s side for about two years. That’s an awful lot of dedication for some mortal she met through happenstance. But if Grelle is doing these things because she’s smitten with An, her actions make perfect sense. There’s a morbid sort of intimacy in killing together (just look at Hannibal)—these ladies committed their crimes as a unit, their identities so closely intertwined that they were known as a single entity, Jack the Ripper. They were enmeshed in a secret relationship whose true nature was known only to them...I think there’s at least a smidgen of queer subtext to be found there. Moreover, in the licensed English translation, Grelle admits outright that she “fell head over heels for a woman.” I don’t know what she says in the original Japanese, and whether the connotations were altered in translation...but most people wouldn’t talk about “falling for someone” in a platonic sense. 👀

Moreover, An and Grelle also tend to be get rather cozy in sensei’s official art; Yana may say they’re not a couple, but they certainly look like one. 👀👀👀

My Shadowhunter Chronicles LGBTQ Head-Cannons

Simon - is 100% Pansexual, like he literally dosent care at all, he just thinks people are pretty, definitely experimented with He/They pronouns at some point. Not for me personally but I LOVE the thought of him being Trans...it would just add a whole new level to the books, plus him and Diana?? They would have the most chotic friendship and just vibe. Alec won't let them be alone together after they almost killed a bunch of homophobic/transphobic clave members, cause neither if them take any shit.

Isabelle - Have to do her next cause cause Sizzy = life. She's definitely Demi something, Demi Romantic or Demi sexual. Was most likely very confused an frustrated with herself( that why she dated around but nothing stuck.) She didn't know it existed until Clary explained it l, when she was confused about what she felt for Simon after Edom.

Alec - I read a fic where he was a hermaphrodite (intersex) and it was so good! And you know Magnus our 'Free Wheeling Bisexual' would be nothing but supportive. He didn't know pride was a think and was very confused when Simon asked if he was going. He got scared by all the people flirting with him and basically hid behind Magnus the whole time. It was adorable.

Clary - Clary is the type of bisexual who doesn't tell any one she's bi, not because she embarrassed, but she just kinda assumes everyone knows( they don't, she comes off as straight.) Gets offended when people assume she's straight. Is very confused about They/Them, She/They, He/ They pronouns, she trys but just can't understand them, very supportive non the less!

Jace - He was bicourus for a little while, experimented a bit ( with Clary knowledge of course,) but ultimately decided he's heterosexual. One day he realized that hes the only straight in the TMI gang and just being completely done, accepted his role as the token straight of the group.

Maia - honestly does not care what she is, doesn't use and sorta of labels out side of not straight. Uses She/They pronouns, the type to get into a conversation with a homophobe and drop the ' you know I'm not straight right?' Half way through.

Rafael Lightwood-Bane - started questioning around 14-15. Relised he was somewhere along the ace spectrum and went to talk to his aunt Izzy cause she's also on it, and wanted to ask about it. He walked in on her and Simon were in the middle of some not so vanilla things and now jokes that they scared him ace, Alec agrees, walking in in them is scary, he's done it too.

Hot Wheels: Battle Force 5 Updated Headcanons

A long time ago, like at least a year but probably several, I made a list of gender and sexuality headcanons for the Battle Force 5 characters. I thought I’d update it.

For reference, my ships these days are:

Let’s get to it:

Vert is a bisexual cis man. He tends to prefer men, slightly, but has slept with a lot more women. He’s a bit of a slut and has been very fearful of relationships since a bad one in high school. He can and will sleep with anyone he can convince into his bed.

Zoom is a gay cis dude. He doesn’t give a shit about gender roles, he isn’t super concerned about keeping quiet, and he’s pretty cheerful about his experiences.

Stanford is a non-binary (he/they) queer person. He’s got a slight preference for women but he’s never been picky. He’s polyamorous and enjoys commitment. Likes queer as a blanket term and because its non-specific.

Sherman is a bisexual cis man. He’s not super into genders other than women, but he’s open, and he ends up falling for Stanford and Agura. He’s very quiet about it and speed runs a sexuality crisis over Stanford. He ends up rolling into polyamory because it works out.

Spinner is a queer trans dude. He doesn’t know his sexuality. He doesn’t really care. He’s given up. He’s queer. That’s all that matters. He bangs a robot (Zemerik) at one point. Not loud about his sexuality or his gender.

Agura is a cis woman who, as she puts it “is about as straight as you want her to be”. She typically prefers to call herself pan, but she’s also ID’d as bi, polysexual, and queer. She’s demiromantic. She’s never tried being polyamorous before but she likes it.

AJ is a mostly cis pansexual guy. He doesn’t really give a fuck about gender, though he’d probably call himself a demi-guy if he knew the term. He loves everyone. Has no real preference. Just loves love.

Tezz is a cis dude and he is both demi-romantic and demi-sexual. He doesn’t think he really likes anyone, but then he falls for AJ over the course of the war. He ends up really enjoying sexual intimacy.

Grace is bisexual and cis. Loves dates. Not big into slutting it up. Bit of a size queen.

Sage is the Sentient equivalent of a lesbian and has a wife (OC).

Zeke is a little old gay cis man. He’s got a husband (OC) and used to do drag in his younger years.

Zemerik liked Spinner for the boning.

Kalus also has a husband.

Alien Race Shit:

Sentients don’t really care about sexuality or gender.

Vandals are fine with sexuality but being a warLORD with a husband is considered better than being one with a wife. It’s like Old Ass Greece that way.

Mulder wanted to go stealth while he was there but came out to Phoebe

When they broke up, she outed him to everyone

Mulder joined the FBI, excited at the prospect of knowing no one and being able to go exclusively by his last name

He was somewhat happy of his solitude in the basement—no one really looked into him past his spooky nature, so no one could find out he was trans

Since Samantha, Scully was the first person who was truly accepting of who he really was

Got top surgery sometime before Colony

Mulder and Krycek were definitely an item for a hot sec until Krycek went evil

Definitely experimented in college and had a couple girlfriends there and through med school

Ending up breaking up with a girl she was really close with because Scully’s job was just putting too much strain on their relationship

It was really hard on her and made her swear off serious relationships for a long time

She thought Mulder was adorable from the moment she saw him but was really scared of actually developing feelings for him so she pushed it down

And kept pushing it down until she finally realized Mulder was never going to hurt her and actually let him in

I’m just ranting about MSR now oops

100% faithful to Mulder but thought Reyes was super hot

Scully is just a distinguished bi idk what else to say

Walter Skinner:

You can’t adopt THAT MANY LGBT agents if you’re not LGBT yourself, right?

Definitely bisexual

Grew up in a really conservative family and didn’t even consider it an option until he moved out

Skinner was attracted to a lot of guys in his squad in Vietnam but he thought it was just because there were no women around

(Spoiler alert: it wasn’t)

Skinner fell in love with John “Kitten” James and he fell hard

Absolutely did everything possible to protect that man

He was terrified of his feelings though and pushed them down, eventually starting to resent his best friend for making him feel things he couldn’t understand

When Kitten got infected by that gas, Skinner put his values over the man he loved, not just because he thought it was the right thing to do, but because he was terrified that he might be bi

He has regretted it ever since

Married his wife after the war and had a pretty good relationship until he became too consumed with his work

Their breakup was really hard on him and he delved even more into his work

Sometime after Avatar (maybe by season 5 or 6), Skinner meets a really lovely man and that man becomes his boyfriend

It’s really hard at first, but the guy helps Skinner to open up and allow himself to be okay with who he really is

They make time for each other outside of work and are really happy together!

Skinner’s boyfriend is 100% okay with the fact that Skinner has basically adopted all these agents

Discovered it pretty late in life, like he knew earlier but he Repressed it

First person he ever came out to was Mulder (as in my fic 😌)

Lots of internalized transphobia in this man but Mulder and the Lone Gunmen really helped him break out of that

Langly and Frohike obviously went with him to get his first T shot and chanted “MAN JUICE” while it happened (scaring a lot of the nurses)

Met Susanne before he transitioned so seeing her again in Three of a Kind was a little terrifying for him

She accepts him though and is a bi icon herself

Byers wears suits so much because they make him feel really validated

Ringo Langly:

Non-binary and gay!! Langly uses any pronouns (gonna stick to he/him for this list to keep things simple though)

Grew up pretty unaware about gender as a whole, just living his life

Moving away from home to a city was huge for him, he started going to gay bars and really realized that he was gay

Eventually started to experiment with his gender, using different pronouns etc., and found out he was non-binary!

Came out to Frohike shortly after learning Frohike was bi (more on that later)

Goes by Ringo because it’s somewhat gender neutral

He isn’t dysphoric very often but when he is it’s very hard for him to cope, Byers and Frohike are always there to support him and help however possible though

Langly gets way more dates than Frohike and loves to brag about it

Melvin Frohike:

It wasn’t until he met Reyes that he started to accept himself more

At first Reyes being a lesbian totally freaked him out and he was really upset, leading to a huge strain on their friendship, but one night he broke down and told her he was pretty sure he was gay

Reyes really helped him through everything, especially his divorce from his wife and the loss of his son

Doggett eventually came out to his dad, who was super accepting

It took Doggett a long time to be comfortable enough to date but he started and met a really great guy, one who he’s now married to

One day he mentioned his boyfriend in passing and the rest of the Spooky Squad totally flipped out because they had no idea he was gay

Doggett just straight-faced “I didn’t think it was relevant?”

Monica Reyes:

30+ Ship/Character Headcanons for Pride: Elena of Avalor Edition

Pride 2021, baby! Took me a whole year to get all my headcanons lined up for my dear old friend of a show, but here they are. This was a very formative show for me so everyone is bi like me, lol.

(Last year’s Star Wars edition)

Elena

Elena is panromantic asexual and nonbinary, and uses she/they pronouns.

They are 100% oblivious to people being attracted to them, and when she does notice, addressing that falls pretty low on her priority list compared to work or family or friends.

For Elena gender is just sort of a thing she has, like a dress. They can be a girl or not be a girl depending on the feeling, but they’re still them.

They settle into a polyam relationship with Mateo, Gabe, and Naomi not too long after coronation, and surprisingly little changes.

Isabel

Isabel finds herself the hardest thing to label, but she eventually settles on pan or queer.

She dates Ari, Caterina, and Amber at various points as a teenager, but never gets into the more direct romance.

As an adult, Isabel is very career-focused and spends a lot of time traveling and researching. She never gets a long-term partner, but does adopt kids.

All her friends are some variety of queer as well: Cristina is pan, Amara and Quique are bi, Olivia is aro-ace.

Flores Family

Esteban is bi and aromantic or grey-romantic.

He never really thought about dating as a kid. Because Elena was similar, he just assumed it was an adults thing until Victor awkwardly tried asking about crushes one time.

He prides himself on being very suave and charming, even flirtatious in situations, but not with any intent, just to make a good impression and get people to do things.

Francisco is bi, but it wasn’t really talked about in his day so he’s only partially aware of it. Luisa is straight but enthusiastically supportive.

The Amigos

Mateo, Gabe, and Naomi are all bi. They handle this very differently.

Mateo only figured it out recently, when he was trying to figure out why he always felt like showing off around Gabe.

He’s a bit of a disaster around people he likes, so he mostly tries not to think about it. This works out well, since he’s naturally very sincere and thoughtful when not flustered.

Gabe's known since he was a kid. He wound up with three awesome, attractive friends, and he’s having a great time.

He has a femme bi older sister, Juliana (my OC whom I will talk more about later) whose support helped him embrace his identity, as well as his dreams of becoming a royal guard, from a young age.

Naomi has switched between the labels bi and lesbian a lot. She got play-married to Vee when they were kids, and it’s a common inside joke between them.

In a modern AU, she’d be a dyed-hair-and-flannel gay, and run a moderately popular youtube channel about sailing and boat facts.

Other Royals

Marisa is pan, Marzel is bi and trans. They’re actually pretty good at wingmanning for each other but in the most annoying way possible.

Valentina is a lesbian, Alonso is bi. Their kingdoms are close allies and they’re the same age, so they’ve been friends since childhood.

Chloe is a bi disaster, which she got from Abigail. Chloe’s other mom, Martha, is the Norberg ambassador to Satu and so is away from home a lot.

Rebeca is bi and ace. She has her own friend group in Galonia who are all at least a little in love with her, just like Elena does.

Supporting Cast

Skylar is gay, Luna is bi. They grew up together and came to Avalor in the same Guardian training group. They both kinda had a thing for Cruz, up until the part where he was evil.

Victor is bi. He has bad taste and is by this point well aware of that. He definitely had a crush on Esteban as a teen, and he and Felicia commiserated over being friends with two hot royal cousins.

Carla is bi. She has a thing for jocks, but really just wants someone she can relate to and confide in, and possibly nerd out over magic with.

After the series, Victor and Carla open a small grocery store and apothecary in the Via Mercado, getting the quiet, stable life they always wanted.

Spirit guides have no innate concept of gender, though they do take on some aspects of the humans they interact with the most. Zuzo has typically identified as masculine for the past several decades, but that’s always subject to change.

Recurring Characters

Rafa is trans, and came out a year or so before Shuriki’s invasion. And of course any master wizard worth their salt knows potions of trans your gender.

Ixlan is a nonbinary lesbian. They use the Maruvian equivalent of they/them, or just they/them for translation convenience.

Antonia is bi. She’s about 24 at the end of the series, and she eventually works her way up to Captain of the Royal Guard. She learns Maruvian so she can talk to Ixlan in her native language.

Tomiko is a lesbian. After college she travels and researches a lot, sometimes with Isabel, and eventually becomes a professor at the Avalor Science Academy.

Logan here is not, in fact an immigrant and had become friends with the other sides via ruthlessly competing with Janus on Duolingo rankings. Eventually, they decide to share DM’s and become friends by speaking each other’s native languages (Janus’s being Spanish because that is, in fact the only other language from English and Hindi that I can speak/read/write well enough with, not because of whatever stereotyping yall have going on), even though they’re both fluent in English. 

Janus eventually introduces her to his best friends, Roman and Remus, who are Chilean but live in the States, and are good friends with Virgil and Patton, both Latvian and are also childhood friends (everyone in this au is fem!character unless I say otherwise mostly) and they all click and become besties!

So they’ve been friends for about 3 years now, and college is now something they all have to actively think about. Virgil, Patton and Logan all want to go to Durham University in London because studying abroad points and Durham’s a good school. Janus, Remus and Roman all decide to try and aim there too, because after three years of being friends and Too Many Videocalls they all just really want to see each other okay?

Now the thing is, college is expensive. Restrictively expensive for all of them, not coming from super rich countries. So what do they do?  Study RIDICULOUSLY hard in their A levels and qualifying exams to get mostly full scholarships or full scholarships like the nerds they are.

Logan’s parents are a bit controlling. Like, this might be a bit squicky for someone outside the states, but this is normal over here, so just in case you don’t like very high parental standards, you can skip via the astericks (*) symbol for any stuff relating to that.

* Logan’s parents are both from true medium class households in Bangalore, which is in the Indian state of Karnataka, down south, even though her mother is from Kashmir and her father is from Kerala. 

They married for love (a truly bonkers thing for their economic standing in the eighties) and both got good jobs which was what got them from lower-middle to middle class with enough savings to cover most emergencies and a sizeable college fund for Logan and her little sister Thomas (Tanya in this, and Logan is actually called Lalitha I just didn’t say it earlier because it’s easier), and they expect her to put all that effort to good use.

 and while they absolutely want to see her go to such a prestigious school on a scholarship, Lalitha’s parents are very strict about any outside contact that she has in exam season (most Indian parents are once again this happens to everyone I know) and initially don’t let her speak to her friends.

 It takes two all-nighters and a 46-slide powerpoint to finally convince her parents that Lalitha needs that contact, and they do let it slide because remember- they do love her a lot this is just how Indian society works. 

She has never been starved for parental affection/acceptance, and even her coming-out went pretty well, though she was told to keep it to herself (which is reasonable India does not like gay people in general and dislikes lesbians notably more. Also fuck Modi he can die in a pit thanks).*

This marks the end of the pretty strict parents section!

It’s two months of quizlets, intense caffeine consumption and textbook hell, but in the end, everyone passes! And they all proceed to take a long-ass nap

And everyone FINALLY meets for the first time in college, after applying for their student rooms to live together, at least for first year to see how they’d do at it.

But luckily voice acting gave her another chance at performance, and the music department really does not care about it. -Her dad was a butcher, so she now knows a concerning amount about how to cut up and dissect meat. -She gets easily attached to things emotionally, and has a whole pile of random bits and bops she keeps on her person because she can't throw them away. -Naive, but smart enough to know how to read and deceive people if needed. Ms Abigail Lambert-she/her, lesbian -A very gifted artist, who is quite frustrated with the business aspect of animation. -Picked up quite a few things about engineering from Lacie. -Stern, but kind. Motherly, if she likes you and you squint hard enough. -Used to fighting for things. -Giving her food is a pretty good way to get her to like you. Being an artist, she forgets to eat at the correct times a lot, so a meals always appreciated. Norman Polk-he/him, gay, albino -Knows how to fix things, knows how to fight, knows how to hide -General cool uncle vibes -He watches people a lot, and gives off some creepy vibes, but he does genuinely care about people -Knows something is up and is determined to find out what (even if he dies trying) -Fought in WW1, then worked at a cinema for a bit. Emma Lamont-she/her, heteroflexible -Keep dancing even when everything goes wrong -Bit of a 'i'm better than these fools' mentality going on -But she's pretty chill, and willing to act when needed -Basically every woman in the studio knows her on the basis that she chills in the girls bathroom. -Hates Joey, but knows those who stir up a bit too much trouble usually 'resign' Sammy Lawrence-he/him, (vocal-romantic) bi/ace, ADD -His dad sucked, so he ran away. He's also the reason he's largely abandoned his faith, but he still holds hope that there is some kind of god out there. -He and Jack are basically brothers, they've known each other for a long time. -He can compose music in his head, but can play basically every instrument. -Tall and thin and sharp with a love of black coffee. -He's actually pretty chill and nice, but the conditions of the studio (workload, noises, dreams) have left him quick to snap and a stressed out mess. -He's pretty oblivious to his own feelings and spends basically all his time thinking about music, so he usually only realises that he has a crush on someone if he hears them singing (hence the vocal-romantic joke) Johnny Hart-he/him (she/her), gay (trans), heart condition -A nervous wreck who avoids everything and everyone -Trans but doesn't realise it, he thinks this level of discomfort has something to do with his heart condition or something like that. -Speaking of which, if he gets genuinely terrified or panicked he could have a heart attack. -Hence why he's a recluse who remains in the organ room and interacts w/ literally no one. -Except Dot and Buddy (who forgets he exists and who he also has a crush on). Wally Franks-he/him, pan -Friends with literally everyone who isn't one of the older folks (and thomas) -Honorary member of the music department because he can play a harmonica and vibes with everyone there. -Tries to put a positive spin on everything, often beyond the point of reason -A mischevous, mildly selfish prankster with a heart of gold -Gossip pals with Susie and Norman The Violinist-she/her, nobody knows -Has literally never expressed an emotion ever -Seems to know things are going to happen before they happen -Just generally pretty weird -She isn't friends with Dot, they're both just vaguely interested in what the others doing -She looks a lot like Allison, but the two have never spoken and nobody knows if they're sisters Thomas Connor-they/them, gynephilia -He is just. Lara[-Le], Last Chieftess of the Knuckles Clan

Angel. Would die for 10/10

Was trained as a warrior, but her true passion did lie in healing and caring for others; she pretty much ended up the village’s designated babysitter because she loved kids so much 

Married Locke when they were both young adults, and she pretty quick became pregnant with Knuckles 

Locke was very interested in the Master Emerald, as the Clan had deigned themselves its guardians as one of their own was inside. He liked to study its properties/magic/etc 

One of his experiments backfired as he ended up with a dream premonition of their son’s future. As a result, he panicked and pulled some shit 

Haven’t decided what exactly but it affected baby Knux and pissed Lara off a lot

Either Locke died in ~mysterious circumstances~ or she kicked him tf out, but basically Knux never really knew his bio dad 

She raised Knuckles alone for a bit but after having a bit of a stress breakdown, her childhood best friend Wyn stepped in to help her 

They’d always been platonic but in the months-years he was helping her with her son they ended up getting romantic 

Eventually married Wyn and had her other kid that I am not naming Kneecaps, jfc, 

At some point inbetween leaving Locke and marrying Wyn, she was elected/appointed Chieftess�� 

As uh. Knuckles is the last of his Clan. we can assume something happened to her unfortunately 

I feel like she and her clan probably died/vanished/what-the-fuck-ever when Knuckles was about ~6-8. As such, he doesn’t really remember her well, but what he does remember is nice, he thinks 

design notes:

Her crescent mark is a little skinnier than Knuckles’s, as well as a lighter shade. Her tails is a bit longer, skinnier and more crooked as well. 

She does have a similar quill-direction to her son, as well as the upward-turned eyes. I like to think they have a similar body type as well. 

Her dreadlocks get shorter the farther back on her head. They are also curvier/curlier than Knuckles’s. 

Of her dreadlock wrappings, the left-to-right tie wrap always above the right-to-left. 

Lara’s leftmost bang (her right) is split from her longer dreadlock; the other two are separate locs. The middle bang has part of the Chieftain Marking across it. 

While we don’t have much info on the canon Knuckles clan, I decided that the teal feathers and head markings of Pachacamac are indicative of the Chief’s status. Hence why they are not included in the top left image. 

Their tech was advanced a bit since, you know, 4000 years ago, but they still dress relatively the same, they’re a very culturally-focused clan.

I decided that the surviving Knuckles would likely idolize Tikal, seeing as she saved their dumbasses from Chaos; thus, the center of Lara’s skirt has a diamond reminiscent of Tikal’s skirt.

Her skirt is also gold as a reference to her original robe. 

Yes that is absolutely her singing “Back to Before” in the top left. 

Was debating between that and “First Burn” lyrics but I evenutally decided on BtB... if y’all wanna see the version with First Burn I can drop that 

Julie-Su of the Nocturnus Clan

Sixteen years old, lesbian, huge lesbian, cannot stress enough how gay she is, also she’s trans cause I said so 

Keeping a bit of her backstory; she was born to two echidnas, but the children of her dad’s first wife were bitter and may have gotten murderous 

This might be why she has a robot arm and dreadlock. oops 

She was highkey traumatized by all that™, but eventually her half-sibs were taken care of and she was adopted into the same family as Shade

She immediately decided to be a better sibling than hers were and took it upon herself to be Shade’s Cool Big Sister and honestly? She’s doing a great job. 

She’s supportive, sweet, teaches her how to do things like tie a headband and shoot a gun, comforts her when she’s depressed, etc. Amazing. 

Despite her troubled past, she keeps optimistic and adventurous, always looking forward to what tomorrow could bring. 

She’s a bit too daring sometimes. She likes to bungee jump off of tall buildings and it gives Shade a heart attack. 

Her and Knuckles are now Chaos Cousins™ 

They are each other’s Gay Cousin™ it’s great 

I still like the idea of her in the Chaotix but I think her and Vector’s dynamic should literally just be the “Adulting” song from Phineas and Ferb

She is very tall™. No I don’t know why. 

Julie-Su’s robot arm, though different colors, is designed after Emerl’s arm, as the Nocturnus built gizoids. 

Left side of her face has shorter dreadlocks, making up her bangs. Only exception is the dreadlock in the far back. 

All dreadlocks, except some bangs, drift to the right (her left). 

I like to think in the ShadeHug image she’s singing “All is Found” to calm her down from a panic attack.
