Poor Erik is in ⚡🔋no shape🔋⚡ to communicate, but he's doing his best. Maggie has no idea whether he's messing with her on purpose, or what's wrong with him, but she won't let him go. They'll get to him eventually. (I've just finished that part, actually. They've got him! Uh. Sorta. At least he's... safe now? 😅Oh, I can't say that with a straight face.)

This is the last of my queued posts/instalments, and I have no idea where my reading and drawing ability will be when it goes live. If I can't update you on my condition (and the condition of the next six instalments) I'll hafta have the spouse type a note for me. I want to do six more right away, or I might take a two week break, or - if I'm really struggling - it'll be a break of indeterminate length. I hope I'll be okay to just keep going, my Patrons have been so patient this year. Thanks, y'all.

But, either way, there will be a break at some point, because I'll have a while where I can't write or draw and that's going to eat up my backlog. Also, recent updates have done more stupid things to my theme and I think the site needs a redesign - maybe including some radical simplification. I'm just not mobile friendly and I can't make the current format behave. People with better eyesight than me do a lot of reading on their phones.

I have no idea how to build a community and I'm flailing, really, but maybe if I can get the interface more convenient, more people will like me? (I have no idea. Probably they won't.)

I'm not in love with how Erik's design looks right now - he looks like a train wreck, but he should look like a train wreck. Nobody is going to fix his hair. I still feel self-conscious about it. He used to be cute. I've got to do a full-body rendering of how he'll clean up, but I don't have time for it now.

However, I did do a page of something trying to get comfortable with his ability to emote in train reck form. I don't have time to finish it, but I think it looks cool so I'm sharing.

This is potentially a way for me to serve you the music without lyric backgrounds that you can't read! It's very labour-intensive, but I was figuring out how to do it and it might get a little easier with practice. Also, my current tablet is struggling with the resolution and I plan to update it by the end of the year - depending on sale prices.

After I saw Hedwig and the Angry Inch, I found out the original Off-Broadway incarnation had filked music with lyrics by John Cameron Mitchell. 🥹😊I'm calling it! This is something other people sharing my identity do to tell their stories! Filk musicals are an enby thing! We do not give a shit about the music industry's copyrights! I'm performing nonbinary correctly!

Bucky… is going to kill Clint. Suddenly all of Clint’s odd comments and strangely demure behavior and even his clothes start to make a kind of insane sense. He’s play-acting at more than just a first date. Clint’s pretending to be someone else entirely, and Bucky’s not sure if it’s a joke or a bad attempt at seduction, but either way a heads-up before the evening started would have prevented a hell of a lot of confusion and maybe prevented Bucky from nearly murdering his husband in a bar in Hell’s Kitchen on a Wednesday night.

This is kind of what you asked for, and yet, it is not at all what you asked for.

Bucky doesn't know how or why he got drawn into TV cooking shows. He doesn't cook, for fuck's sake. He didn't cook before his accident, and he sure as fuck isn't chopping onions with only one arm these days. Bucky spends half his time wrapped in his comforter eating ham sandwiches.

It started, he thinks, with Great British Bake Off. There's just something comforting about that show. It's just nice. It was something to do when Bucky couldn't even drag himself out of bed, deep in a dark hole of depression an self-loathing and pain. He could turn on GBBO and just... let his brain rest.

And then it sort of... expanded. From baking competitions to cooking competitions to plain old cooking shows.

And now he's watching YouTube episodes of Oh Crepé!, featuring a tall, handsome blond man who seems to enjoy fucking up famous recipes and telling bad jokes.

Bucky's not even sure how he found the guy. But he's funny (if you like puns, and god help him, Bucky does), and kind, and laughs at himself more than he laughs at other people, and he's fuckin' deadly with a knife, and there's something soothing about listening to him describe his sexual attraction to a pork pancake.

Okay, that part's a little weird, but Bucky likes weird, and he likes that the guy - he's called Clint, Bucky knows that, because the girl behind the camera who heckles him incessantly says his name with with varying degrees of exasperation at least twice an episode - is so at ease with himself, so comfortable in his own skin, despite bandages, and bruises, and his inability to pronounce 'self-aggrandizing'.

He's also Deaf, and that's nothing at all like being an amputee, but something about knowing that makes Bucky feel like one day he'll be okay too.

It’s time for me to just RAMBLE away again! Good luck!

Gender Time

I had some trans cake today that I found from the grocery store. It was with rainbow cake and they’re labeled “carnival cake” and not pride I guess, which is kind of annoying, but I KNOW the area I live in has a lot of pockets of old white republican people, so I’m SURE they would have complained.

Speaking of, been feeling off and on about being a trans girl. Today’s a bit of an off day. I want to be a girl but I don’t want to do any of the work to ‘pass’ really. I think I’m not too bad at least, but again, I’ve been seeing these republican/trump people around where I live and just... it makes me uncomfortable.

I don’t even want to post a picture of it, but today we had a truck parked in front of our home covered in all the most stupid bumper stickers like “I’m TRYIN’ to drive this way to PISS you off” and like Fox News stickers and all that typical stuff you see from those people, and I just thought like... These are the type of people that might hassle me. I can’t deal with that. I don’t want these kinds of people here, where I have to worry about what I look like in my own home.

Speaking of my area... here’s a couple of the kind of masks my gf @likes-words-and-shrimp and I like to wear

Masks are coming off

California got rid of our mask mandate everywhere here a little less than a week ago, and EVERYONE is taking them off everywhere and SO quickly. It’s really frustrating. I really like wearing a mask outside. They make me feel comfortable, they hide the hair on my face, some masculine parts of my face, etc. I’m already starting to feel like the odd-one out for wearing a mask and like... they just make me feel comfortable in my gender. I hope I’ll be able to keep wearing them without feeling judged.

Oh yeah it was my birthday

Some stuff I got from girlfriend again. I might have showed it earlier but who cares??

I had Fish Grill which is like my favorite. I just eat Alaskan Salmon and rice and beans and I feel like I could eat it for my whole life.

I’m 31 now and it doesn’t feel like much is different except my back hurts more often...

Had to call my family for it of course, which was stressful. I didn’t call them till like a week later even though they called me on the day. I just didn’t want to talk to them. They don’t know I’m trans and I don’t know if I’ll ever tell them or want to deal with it. When I finally did call, it was... all right. Nothing too bad. They misgender me which sucks, but I’ve never told them, so its not exactly their fault (yet)

my mom complained about people my age as per usual at some point. Like millennials have any money or power to do anything. After the call was over, I felt just off and weird and judged throughout the day and it reminded me why I don’t like calling my family.

PILLS here!

Right, last time I talked about anti-depressants. I got new ones recently and they make me feel a decent bit better. I’ve been taking half a dosage which was OK’d by my psychiatrist if I didn’t like how full made me feel. I think a full dosage actually DOES make me feel emotionally better and less stressed all around!

BUT! I think it also makes my back hurt? Just constant back pain?? I don’t know if this is true or not, it feels like I’m making this up, but when I go back to taking just half a pill again, it seems like my back doesn’t hurt as much?? And half a pill still has good effects on me overall and makes me a lot less anxious I think.

CREATIVE time??

I’m sure I’ve mentioned this a million times, but I’m STILL working on Hotel Wario (the big sequel to my Detective Luigi series) and I’ve only VERY recently starting finally writing it again. I’ll give you a little snippet, AND! I will show you a little surprise I got for it. A preview of a commission I got from @artpghero

The commission IS done and I look at it almost every day and feel energized into writing more of it! But I don’t want to show the full thing until this longfic is DONE.

Anyways, we’re still sitting at about 74k words here. I’m expecting the finished product to be around 90k, maybe even 100k? Probably not that long, but who knows. I’m really happy with how my creative works are going.

VIDEO GAAAAAAAAMES!

I have been playing video games as you all well know because those are what keep me going. I have a LOT I’ve played and I have feelings for them.

I played and beat Rabi Ribi and I really really liked it! This was a metroidvania that’s MUCH more open for exploring than actual Metroid or Castlevania and its got a cast of EXCLUSIVELY girls. The entire WORLD is cute/sexy anime girls and they are all CANONICALLY gay with each other, so you can be sure this will be one of my favorite games I played this year.

Played a game called Genesis Noir on Game Pass. Pretty neat artsy little point and click. Almost no dialogue. Over in a few hours. Was a cool experience where you just go through trippy and pretty art and try to understand WTF is going on. (The picture is probably gonna look terrible on tumblr, idc)

In the middle of playing Ghost of a Tale on Game Pass right now, and this game has been a GEM for me. I did not know anything about it or what I was getting into, but I really like it. You basically just play as a lil mouse friend and you go exploring this really interesting fantasy world and learning about the lore and characters. It feels like a fantasy book that you get to just sort of meander around in. Not much gameplay to speak of, a bit tedious but I just love the writing and feel of the world and that’s clearly what’s most important in this game. We’ll see how much I keep liking it as time goes on!

OTHER media??

I’m still reading Gideon the Ninth. It’s still cool! I like it. I can’t say anything new about it other than its still gay, its still necromancery, and its still got really cool environments and is still fairly funny.

As for anime, I’m mostly just watching Slayers now, and I ADORE Slayers. We’re on Slayers Try now, and I just... I love everyone. It’s a good show, it’s good nostalgia, it is just good.

AND UH....

I think that’s good enough for now. I probably talked overly much here, but that’s about the gist of things. Yeah, my life is kind of just going to the grocery store and playing video games and hoping I will write. But it’s been okay. The day itself today has been pretty meh, but like 90% of my days are good and I’m content, and I know for a fact I’ll be feeling better very soon so I’m not too bothered. Thank you pills. Let’s hope they keep working and I keep gettin em.

ONE • THIS BLOG IS A SAFE SPACE. that means no hate, no bigotry, no jackassness allowed. if i see it on my dash, you will be blocked. i will reblog callout posts, but only for serious stuff. if i see a callout posts for someone ’ not writing their character right ’ or ’ not being original enough ’ or something like that, it will be ignored. that’s dumb and you need to get over yourself. i myself am a white, lgbt female. i am not perfect, and if i do some shitty things, i expect people to come talk to me about it because in no way do i want to be make people uncomfortable or be ignorant. but i do prefer you come talk to me first, don’t just blast hate about me without trying to work with me first. i am not a hard ass, im actually quite the pushover. and i swear im pretty nice.

SIX • I HAVE MY OWN SYSTEM AND WRITING STYLE. i do memes a certain way and i write my drafts a certain way as well. the only thing you really need to know is that once i reblog a meme, it’s open forever. you could send it to me the day i reblog it or three weeks later - i don’t really care. if i don’t want to answer a meme anymore, i’ll delete it, so anything in the meme tag is fair game. other basic rules apply : if you want to continue an ask meme to a thread, move it to a new thread because if it is on an ask i won’t reblog it. i do prefer small text and icons, but i won’t not interact if you don’t use these.

SEVEN • I KINDA ADORE SHIPPING. this includes platonic, frenemies, romantic partners - if it’s a pairing of any kind im a sucker for it. as for romantic things, danny doesn’t quite know her sexual orientation yet, she kind of just dates who shes wants to date. in regards to shipping, i ship chemistry above all else. i do not write smut, as i am just entirely uncomfortable with it. i may mention some things here and there, but that is it. if you see our muses being together all romantic like, let me know ! cause i may ship it too, and we could have some fun. oh, and i am ship exclusive ( meaning i will only ship with one of a particular character )

EIGHT • IF YOU WANNA BE MAINS, ASK ME ! i like having mains, like really like it, so if you want to be mains just let me know ! exclusives are a bit different, as i don’t like to say im exclusive with anyone. it really has to take a strong bond of me to your character portrayal for me to be exclusives. also, if i say you are my main / exclusive, do not feel pressured to add me back ! i do it for my own comfort via the relationships ive built, and it just makes me comfortable. do not feel obligated to do the same in return, you def don’t have to.

NINE • I TAG TRIGGERS AS TRIGGER TW. if you want a trigger tag, tell me so i can tag it ! i try to tag the basics, but sometimes i forget, so if i forget just remind me ! i ask that you tag any vague posts you might post. i have a habit of thinking they are about me no matter what they are about. simply tag anything about it being vague or simply put ’ not about my mutuals ’ if it’s about something else ! spoilers for tv shows / games / etc will be along the same lines tagging wise.

Inked on 93 lb Aquabee Multimedia paper using Noodler’s Heart of Darkness, a dye-based, “bulletproof” ink. Colored digitally in Photoshop. May include simple typography/speech bubble if requested.

Drawn loosely with an emphasis on dynamism rather than clean linework, but colored and may include speech bubbles or typography if requested.

It will include EITHER 2 full bodies and 2-3 busts, OR three full bodies. For now, it will be limited to one character per sheet.

-The COMPLEXITY FEE is enforced when a character has a complicated prop or intricate design element, such as a suit of armor, an animal companion, a large set of wings, a lot of detailed jewelry, an intricate weapon, involved mechanical prosthesis, etc. This will be enforced per object on a case-by-case basis.

DETAILS:

-No fetish stuff or porn, but pinups and nudity are fine. I don’t mind getting cheeky but no things going into or out of holes, if you catch my drift.

-At the end of the day I’ll let you know if I’m not comfortable with the material, or if I’m not confident in my abilities to execute something.

-Send me a private message and I’ll give you my e-mail, where we can discuss details of your commission and I can send you progress shots.

-I will allow three sessions of revisions in the pencil stage before I begin charging for further alterations.

-Turnaround is estimated to be two weeks or less, depending on your position in the queue, how quickly you get back to me regarding progression, and the level of complexity. It could be done in a couple of days, or it could be done in a week or two, just depends on the circumstances.

-Terms of service will be sent with a paypal invoice.

-Because these are relatively straightforward, payment will be due before I begin your commission.

-Everything listed is at least in part analog, so as long as you live in the United States, I can mail inks or pencils upon request, so long as you pay for postage.
