Daichi Sawamura
>no he won't wear it. f in the chat
>but if you do get him into it it's entirely begrudgingly. maybe he lost a bet or something
>does not take well to you ordering him around
>"oh mr. maid! I'm out of strawberry milk! I need a refill!"
>throws you a withering glare and goes with it
>He wears a super generic maid dress off of amazon
>it's either a little big on him or fits him snugly and makes him a whore
>no in between
>it's probably a longer skirt cause he feels like a whore if his thighs are out
>"isn't that confirming he feels like a whore in the volleyball uniform?"
>yeah and what about it?
>will deny and never acknowledge he wore it
>can cook and clean for you
>but will he do it?
>yeah just don't push it!
>draws the line at the kiss the cook or best maid apron
Sugawara Koushi
>goes all out with it
>frilly and lace themed one
>loli vibes with the outfit
>"oh, does my little mistress need more milk? would you like some directly from me, hmm?"
>oh he knows you're straight sipping for him in this uniform
>is aware of the power he holds
>he really just wants to flex on you
>"look I wear a maid dress for my girlfriend and love teasing her!"
>can cook only the basics so he works with that
>will clean and do menial chores for you
>won't wear it outside
>but if people ask he will admit to wearing a maid dress for you
Asahi Azumane
>oh yes he is a big teddy bear
>bring out THE FURRY TEDDY BEAR EARS
>no yeah he'll wear it just ask
>gets flustered if others ask it and won't/can't give a straight answer
>it almost entirely tells the truth about it LMAO
>rip to him
>no cause Nishinoya and Tanaka be like 'you wore the maid dress without me?..thought you were bae but you were just fam'
>he is so nervous DON'T laugh at him for dropping something or for making the plate wobble :(
>trying his best!
>he just needs the confidence that he's doing the best to meet your demands and needs
>give him lots of praise
>he needs the confidence boost
>shower him with affection
>"I want to sit on my maids lap!"
>is a good maid. frets over you.
>he gets a more modest maid dress
>insecurity gang <3
>I think he'd have like.. an apron on top of his maid dress. with a pocket of snacks. idk it just suits his vibe
>nothing really puffy or frilly or lacy
>just a basic cotton one
Ennoshita Chikara
>would most likely gladly wear it for you
>but like Asahi, is unsure and nervous
>just needs the reassurance and ego boost
>is a really good cook
>goes all out for you
>makes a steak
>asks you "what temperature?"
>your dumbass responds with "uh, warm I guess?"
>please I think that Chikara has a really soft and quiet laugh so his laugh is heaven then
>wears a very average and plain looking maid dress
>it's mostly like black colored, the only interesting thing about it is like, the ruched booby top, and the square neckline.
Nishinoya Yuu
>tanaka probably introduced the idea of wearing a maid dress for Kiyoko and then Nishinoya hops on the maid dress for you and decides to get mileage out of it wearing it for you and her
>he wears a really fancy maid dress
>short and fluffy, a lot of petticoats
>can't cook for the life of him. still tries. bonus points for that I guess?
>can clean but doesn't clean very detailed so like the back of the sink faucet is still a little trashy and water stained
>would wear it for you again
>brags about it. very proud of it. knows he's the best maid NA
Tanaka Ryunosuke
>wears it for you in order to initiate sex
>that's it
>is a bad cook and even worse at cleaning
>gets sidetracked between tasks that you give him
>ruins everything by doing girly high pitched moans and a girly high pitched voice
>opt to just go to bed at that point
Tsukishima Kei
>no he won't wear it for you. don't try.
>just photoshop his face onto a man wearing a maid dress
>down horrendous at that point
>if he finds out he will just send you raunchy photos of himself in a maid dress
>BUT he will not hand over power to you
>"oh? my little master can't please herself? such a good thing she has me for her maid."
>tell anyone about that and he ignores you for like a week
>may also lose sexting privileges
>it's not worth it to gain the upper hand
Hinata Shoyo
>wears it to compete with kageyama????
>how is it a competition? don't even begin to understand it
>it suits him
>it's probably a really obnoxious one with lots of detail and that was super over priced
>burns the food. but is really good at cleaning
>is so energized you need to keep him constantly busy for your own good
>will hurt anyone who tries to shame him for wearing a maid dress for you
Yamaguchi Tadashi
>shy but overall a really average and good maid
>can cook and can clean he does it all!
>even tells you cheesy one liners!
>blushes when you flirt with him!
Kageyama Tobio
>no I just know hinata exposes him for filth about him wearing a maid dress'
>will be so embarrassed and angry about you wearing a maid dress
>can't cook but can clean
>he will most likely need your help cooking. he just doesn't know how to do it
>wears a very stiff and conservative maid dress
>can really drive for sure so maybe he'll drive you for dinner?

Hi Puts! How would you describe each girl’s fashion style and whose style is the closest to yours?
Tumblr media
Hi there!!
Phew, okay, that’s actually a pretty hard question, I will try to do my best and find a few adjectives to describe their style. Throughout the years, their style has undergone some changes of course so I will mostly refer to their current fashion style. Also, I would like to clarify that I am a firm believer in wearing whatever the hell you want. I might not like everything (and occasionally make fun of a certain style - no harm intended) but I definitely do not judge. All right, here we go 〈(•ˇ‿ˇ•)-→
Wakana: Very feminine with strong (sometimes overbearing) patterns/designs (lace, embroidery, frill, florals, prints, crazy and bright colours, volume, etc). Usually quite modest. Her wardrobe consists of lots of long and loose- fitting skirts/dresses/pants that don’t reveal too much of the contours of her body. The only thing she is always happy to show off are her gorgeous arms and shoulders so naturally, there are a lot of sleeveless clothing items in her collection. Occasionally she will go for a look that accentuates her lovely figure by wearing loose high-waisted bottoms and a tight-fitting top. Typically she pairs her clothes with sneakers or converse because comfort is key.
Keiko: A mixture between edgy-rockish, glitzy-glamorous and cute-girly. Her style is definitely the hardest to pin-point since it’s all over the place. We have seen her in variations of denim with oversized printed sweaters/t-shirts/mesh tops looking like a full-blown rocker girl. But then she will also wear questionable animal prints with big fur cardigans and coats which occasionally make her look like a high-class hooker XD. And lastly, there’s a side of her that just wants to look kawaii and girly with lots of lace, embroidery, embellishment and floral patterns. I like her most when she finds a good balance between her rockish and girlish style. Since she is a sucker for high-end brands she can also go for a more sophisticated and elegant look if she wants to but in most cases there will always be an edgy or cute element to her outfit to keep things toned down. Keiko has lovely legs and she likes to show them off so short pants, skirts, dresses and tunic-length-tops are a staple in her wardrobe. Shoe-wise she will either go for crazy high-heels or combat boots.
Hikaru: Edgy, sexy, casual. Like Wakana she likes loose and comfy clothing (especially on top) but whereas Wakana regularly opts for skirts and dresses Hikaru is more likely to choose a (very tight) pair of denim jeans. Her style is a lot more casual and down-to-earth compared to Wakana’s. Monochromes, muted-earthy colours, no crazy patterns. She is also not at all afraid to show a lot of skin which definitely distinguishes her from Wakana. She is a little more consistent with her edgy-rocker look than Keiko because she rarely incorporates frilly or glamorous elements. From time to time she will go for something cute and girly/feminine but more often than not that outfit will be one of Keiko’s hand-me-downs. These days she is never seen without one of her many pairs of Doc Martens.
As for my personal style, it actually does not 100% align with any of theirs. But I guess it has elements of Wakana and Keiko’s style. I am very much into old-fashioned table-cloth-inspired lace and embroidery like Wakana and I am a sucker for floral patterns just like Wakana and Keiko. There is also A LOT of pink in my wardrobe but I am sure that doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone :P
For the most part I can’t relate at all to Hikaru’s style and I am having a hard time pairing her fashion items (the few that I own) with my other outfits. Wakana’s fashion style is an acquired taste. At first I didn’t particularly like the wide and voluminous cuts but I am slowly getting used to them and by now I very much enjoy wearing all those big tops and dresses. I feel cute and feminine in them but never struggle to breathe or feel self-conscious about my body. Overall I probably like Keiko’s style most but sometimes it’s a hit or miss for me. Oh boy, when she misses, she REALLY misses. Some of her fashion choices are just beyond my grasp XD For example, I will never understand her undying love for outrageous puff-sleeves. She has always been into them but these days it’s even worse since she is so inspired by Korean/Chinese idol fashion. But yeah, generally speaking, my favourite Kala-fashion pieces are without a doubt Keiko’s and those can be most easily incorporated in my day-to-day style. Also, whenever I see her in a new outfit, I usually find myself thinking, “yup, I would definitly wear that too, let me find it and pay an unreasonable amount of money for it!” That almost never happens with Hikaru and only sometimes with Wakana.

Core Four
Hi! After days of my antics i had decided to show my drawings for my redrawn Descendants next to outfit clarification/ idea for my fanfiction (+ analysis because I love fashion analysis! I watched one episode of the topic and I'm hooked now-) also sorry about the poor camera quality I'll digitalize it soon 😭
So here's them all together:
Tumblr media
So what they have in common is the use of patterns and somewhat baggy(ish?) clothing whether it's from the top, ( Carlos, Evie) or by the pants ( Jay, Mal). The next use is pictures or patterns which is pretty predominant in Mal's side of town ( The inner city/ a good most of the Isle except anywhere near the coast. Which is known to be Uma's side of town.) 9 times out of 10 you would see a lot of painted clothes with patterns or designs, pieces of leather or cloth in clothing that can form a pattern or pictures. It is very popular on the Isle to wear gloves, bandages, and something you can at least move in because sometimes certain areas get congested and you might have to jump from a building time to time, run away from a troll, or fight. Also it's good to wear clothes that hide stuff you stole or hide weapons compared to Uma's side of town where you kinda just casually have a dagger or sword out. The inner city fashion is a mix of military, grunge, and goth depending on where you are. And it also reflects in the fanfiction in their Auradon fashion which I'll describe later. Their outfits together all clash but it's unified in one shape or pattern which also presents their friendship.
MAL
Tumblr media
So Mal doesn't have fear as she usually doesn't worry about being randomly shanked out of nowhere. Seen here I kept her purple/ green aesthetic but I used a very minium of pink which was her top which was magenta. Her outfit is quite girly tomboyish. Her top is a repurposed binder that she cloth dyed and painted green flames on. I did this changes because she's more of the rambunctious one in the group next to Jay so her clothes are fitted in the purposes of movement next to the fact of her always stealing and running away which I felt that the leather jacket limited her upper body in her og design, I do love the leather don't get me wrong! But it's more practical in fall/winter (assuming that it's pretty tight) than spring and summer which is when my fanfiction takes place. However the use of leather is shown in her pants as the her pockets is dyed leather. Her hair is more blunt like cut and a deeper purple more toward her hair in D3 (Which was the color I like the most) but it's not a long asymmetrical bob it's just a blunt cut bob and she keeps it that way for a while. She aims for that casual militant fashion a lot, as some of her outfits won't look like what is the one above since she's not jumping place to place in Auradon would lean towards edgy and militant for a while until Coronation and later in the series where it leans more like EGIRL/Prep as her hair gets longer and is just plain black and cut again so she would wear a baggy clothes with combat boots in darker shades of purple and green while some of her shoes consist of designs of her own graffiti in the earlier parts and eases slowly into more to skinny jeans and a shirt that's stuck in with some canvas shoes. You notice how her outfits would present a very dominant leader energy because her outfits would stand out a lot when she stands with the group. Reflecting her always in control and assertive role as leader in the group. Whether in maybe the graphics on her shirt or the pattern until later where her and the core four all equally stand out in their own ways but not clash with one another and she's not trying to outshine any of them. So her style choices in the beginning reflects how she sees herself more of a pawn to her mother and more of someone was placed in charge due to her mother's orders which makes her prone to have a harder time shifting from that mindset in the beginning.
EVIE
Tumblr media
Her outfit is very male gaze oriented, intentionally as presented on how she was raised so how she dresses is out of place for normal people on the Isle that live more in the inner city as she dresses more for fashionable and what the Isle consider Auradon like. However don't get it twisted because her outfit is quite practical than one thinks. Her outfit is a dress with attached shorts that is hard to see due to her dress because she dresses in a way for the male gaze. Her sleeves are utilized in a way that she can keep weapons. Any weapon. Same applies to her dress skirt the cut is makes her capable of sneaking in a knife or something same rules don't apply to her purse as it just keeps makeup and a mirror in hand for quick access. Her dress is pretty tight at the waist as her mother always say "tinier the waist the better" and the closest thing of love she got from her mom is that she complimented her waist so her outfits then on compliment her waistline. Her colors are still blue and red as her mother thinks that what works because Snow White but later on she will have mementos of her mother's colors of red, black, purple, greens, and gold albeit jewelry or clothing pieces. Her shoes aren't made for any parkour. Most of her shoes are heels. Mother says a girl in heels fluctuate the legs. Her hair is in the braid as it makes her face pop out more, it represents also the strict beauty guidelines she follows due to her mother's influence so her hair will always be up and tight until later on she starts wearing it loser to present how confident she is in her skin. Her hair leans towards a black blue color it's has a blue shine if you see it in the sun which has a slight color reference to her D1 hair mixed with D3. As a result her Auradon fashion can be formed with ease as it's a easier transition since she dresses like that before going to Auradon so her outfits would be very reflective of what's popular in Auradon without the prep, so she would wear dresses but they would be in darker colors and have a few spikes. Of if she was wearing a skirt it would be a synthetic leather. Her fashion is edgy prep until later in the series where it's still edgy but has a color tune up a bit. Her outfits will very much reflecting of fitting in Auradon as much as possible and try to appeal to the male gaze in Auradon as she would try to look more modest and muted compared to everyone in the group until later on she's comfortable of being herself as she dresses more for herself and wears what's fashionable and what makes her comfortable than what her mother thinks. Her outfit choices reflects more of her needing to be approved by others which makes her have a wavering confidence in what she wears forming into her wearing clothes she would never be caught dead wearing but has to so she gets her mother's and other's approval until she realizes that she lives for her not anyone else.
JAY
Tumblr media
This dude knows he's a little shit. So he dresses like one. His is simple and it reflects that he needs to have places to store a box cutter and a cheap necklace. He's all about practicality. He hates and I mean HATES anything that prevents him from moving in absolute precision. There is no leather on him besides his pants which are similar to Mal's with the leather accents. Now his hair is long and just up until later he wears is down often and is just styled. So his Auradon outfits will reflect Mal in some form, it's different because it leans towards athlesiure, jock, and skater in many different ways until later he leans towards athlesiure and jock with a sprinkle of skeeter fashion with brighter colors and more simplicity so not a lot of patterns or graphics. His earlier outfits will always be outshined by Mal. No matter how similar it can be it will always be outshined by Mal. His outfit choices shows how he just goes along with Mal because that's who he knew the longest next to the fact that he doesn't crave the same need for power and leadership as Mal does he just in it for the loot and his mindset isn't about teamwork it's just what works for enough for him to get his share until he notices that he gets and works enough to get his share but...he isn't noticed that also made sure everyone get theirs, just somewhat ran over just because everyone assumes he doesn't care when he does or take it for themselves so they get brighter and become separate and drastically different from Mal making him shine.
CARLOS
Tumblr media
His outfits are practical yet fashionable like Evie's but simple. He wears anything that makes him blend in blend in. He blends in so hard that Evie stands out more than him. His clothes are very two sided like his mom's hair but he only literally have one outfit since being on the Isle and what was in his bag of stuff when he went to Auradon was like a few inventions and games and some pictures and his oversized jacket and finally getting new clothes given by Evie and some new friends he makes as seen worn here because he doesn't really go out. His hair remains the same and just gradually gets longer and he can place it in a ponytail. Which if posted on his friend's stories just looks like a maltese ponytail. His Auradon outfits are simple and blends in more better in Auradon than Evie's. He mostly wear button up shirts with some pants or sweater. He just is scared and a lot of his clothes represent security in the beginning so some of clothes would be bagger than others until later he becomes more secure and wears clothes that reflects his newfound happiness and security which is more fashionable and what's popular with Auradonian boys while being himself. As with such with the two-sided clothing from before it also presents what his personality is like really in real life, and his oversized jacket is washed its a pure white jacket. He's witty and comical and iconic while also being anxious and terrified. So his outfit choices reflects him coming out of his shell show what more of him meets the eye making him be the iconic king he is.
I hope that this analysis makes sense 😭 please let me know if it doesn't! Also i would like to hear some suggestions because ironically fashion is also not my strong suit and I'm worried that I made them too ooc but know disney i probably wasn't far off smh-

🤡 infodump about something
I’ll keep it relatively short... or well.. I’ll try.
Lolita fashion infodump ~
First appearing in Japan around the 70s/80s along with the Kawaii culture movement created by younger women as a rebellion! Lolita fashion is meant to be over the top feminine and frilly and in your face girly as a big ‘fuck you’ to traditionalist sexism and how women should be expected to act or look.
Inspired by Victorian and Rococo styled clothing and the name ‘Lolita’ was chosen for how ‘cute’ it sounded and not at all relevant or related to any gross book by the same name. Lolita fashion has many substyles of goth, sweet, classic, etc and really its kind of endless. Lolita fashion has ‘rules’ but isn’t as strict as it may seem at first. Really you just need the silhouette in your outfit, aka the petti coat and skirt combo to create a big poof. It’s also mostly a modest/covering up style which is an added bonus in my opinion cause not many alternative fashions are friendly to those whose religions ask for the individual to not show skin. (Or well, just anyone who would perfer to not show much skin.)
Even though it started out being mostly for women in Japan as a feminist's movement, its now for really all genders and everyone around the world. There is a lot of non binary or male folk out there in the community and its really refreshing to see! As just because the fashion calls for a big poof skirt or dress doesn’t mean its an only ‘girls fashion’. Dresses are truly gender variant, even with flowers or teddy bears or lace on it.
“Boy-style” lolita fashion is actually a sub style or style of its own (depending who you ask) called Ouji fashion. Ouji meaning ‘Prince’. It usually involves the same Victorian and Rococo influences but of course more so the male fashion influences.
I really love the fashion and it is so much more accessible now a days then it use to be. There is so many patterns out there to make your own dresses or outfits. Indie brands have popped up just about all over the world. Plus sizes finally exist as well as it use to be a ‘one size fits all’ sort of fashion. And it’s become a heavily lgbt populated community as the rebellion aspects of the fashion continue on because gender roles don’t matter and looking loud and proud in frills and lace and bows is for everyone! I really love the fashion and can talk too much about it!!! But okay yeah I’m done for now...

Run Devil Run [Chapter One] Digging Up Bones [Karma Akabane]
Tumblr media
“Just look at you; undeniably flawless. Don’t you agree?”
Yukie stared at her reflection in a full body mirror, pivoting her slim hips from side to side – the wispy fabric of the skirt glided with her movement and brushed against her knees. Without question, she was gorgeous, but this kind of thing was not her style.
“I like it,” she replied politely. Honestly she did. The short flutters sleeves on the blouse made her appear rather girly, but the ensemble was cute and rather fashionable. She certainly didn’t have anything this nice in her closet at home. With one final pivot, Yukie glanced over and smiled at the pretty woman beside her. “Thank you for allowing me to model it for you, Miss Shiota. I think you’ll look very casual in this.”
Hiromi laughed softly. “It’s not for me, but I certainly am grateful for the compliment. Actually … I wanted you to have it. Nagisa can’t wear it, and since I so wanted a daughter, I kept it.”
“I couldn’t possibly,” Yukie argued. “It’s very pretty and must have cost a lot. Accepting it would make me feel bad.” She bit her tongue between her teeth once she saw the woman frown. This wasn’t the first time she’d seen Hiromi turn dark – it mostly occurred whenever Nagisa chose to defy her. Zany, black swirls consumed her eyes, and Yukie knew she had to defuse the situation before it became much worse for her.
Faking a smile, the buoyant teenager pivoted her hips once again. “Oh but I really do like it. If you’re sure I can have it, I’ll gladly accept.”
Again Hiromi laughed. She lifted her arms and wrapped them around Yukie’s shoulders. “Consider it yours. It’s the least I can do for someone like you; someone from A class who is nice enough to acknowledge Nagisa. I only hope your determination will rub off him.”
“We’re neighbors, so I really don’t mind at all. Besides, Nagisa is a good friend. He helps me with homework whenever I need it.”
“So modest,” Hiromi chirped. She gently hugged the honest girl, then released her, taking a few steps back to look her over once again. “I shouldn’t interrupt you two then. Go back to studying and help my Nagisa do better. I’ll be in the kitchen if you need me.”
Yukie bobbed her head in agreement and followed Hiromi from her room, moving hastily down the hall towards Nagisa’s room. She was there earlier, before the eager woman pulled her away, but to be polite, she knocked on the door anyway. With his consent, she moved inside and shut the door behind her.
“That was a long bathroom break,” Nagisa joked. He eyed the new outfit and frowned. “Hey, I’m really sorry about my mom. She’s really persistent sometimes.”
“It’s no problem. If not me then you.”
Nagisa shuttered at this. “There’s no way I’d pull that outfit off. The neckline is too low and I don’t have the chest to fill it out. But I’m surprised … you look mature with it on.”
Yukie puffed out her cheeks and placed her hands on her hips. “I always look mature. You’re so mean, Nagisa.”
He paled, “I didn’t mean it like that. It’s just … no one has ever seen you in a dress before. Honestly, it’s kind of weird.”
She agreed; it was weird. Most of the time Yukie wore shorts, even to school – they of course were dress code appropriate. She was a tomboy, so anything other than her usual made her feel uncomfortable. Dresses and skirts never bothered her, but raised by two fathers, she never experienced what it was like to be a girl; she learned to pitch a ball before she learned to put on eyeliner. Huffing a sigh, Yukie leaned against the door. “I’m not mad, you know? Even I don’t recognize myself like this.”
“It doesn’t suit you,” Nagisa stated. “I think you look nice, but you being you is much better.” She made him feel less nervous when she dressed boyish. Seeing her in a dress or a skirt only brought him unease; it made him realize that he was close friends with a cute girl. His face warmed up, but he ignored it and cleared his throat.
“Are you planning on staying late?”
Yukie again bobbed her head. “Math is my worst subject. I honestly don’t think I’ll understand the lesson in just a few hours. Why do you ask?”
“Just thought you’d feel more comfortable in shorts,” he answered.
“Is this an offer? Because I’d love to borrow some clothes.” Yukie clapped her hands in front of herself and begged him, puckering her lips.
The gracious teen agreed and let her have free reign of his closet. She often did this whenever she came over – borrowed his clothes – because she said that Nagisa had the snuggest outfits. He kept his back turned as she searched the hangers. Yukie didn’t have much shame when it came to changing in front of people, but Nagisa never dared to look. Still, it was hard to ignore the fact she was naked behind him, and he was in fact a male. To keep his mind busy, he thought back to why Yukie had come to visit him; he’d asked her for help on his homework. It seemed much easier to have someone tutor him in science, then try to understand it himself.
“Hey … Yukie.” He waited for the lively girl to respond to his call before continuing. “Thanks for this. You didn’t have to tutor me, you know?”
She puckered her brow as she slipped on a T-shirt with a shoreline and palm trees on it. Did she hear him right? “What was that?” Yukie gathered her previous outfit and stepped out, sitting in a clear spot on the floor beside the blue haired teen.
Nagisa gave her a nervous look. “I said you didn’t have to help me out, but thank you for accepting.”
“As if I wouldn’t,” she said. Her blue eyes narrowed. “We’re friends, Nagisa. You know that, right?”
“I do.”
Sometimes he wished he’d never met her though. She risked her reputation at school by socializing with him. Nagisa didn’t want her to be ostracized by her friends, but Yukie seemed not to mind. She once claimed that she enjoyed his company, so Nagisa chose not to push his worries on her, not today anyway. He forced a soft smile and picked up his worksheet, handing it off to her.
“I need help with this; science is my worst subject.”
Yukie took a glance at the paper. It focused mainly on questions relative to general science, but some A-level questions were written on it too. She found it strange that unlike her worksheets, his were hand written. It wasn’t something she was use to seeing a teacher do.
“This Korosensei must be one heck of a teacher. He added the major branches of science to your worksheet and even suggested what reading material you should review. It’s amazing that he took the time to do this for you.”
“He does this for everyone,” Nagisa replied. It was interesting to see just how excited Yukie had become with this. If only she knew the truth about his homeroom teacher. He was sure that she’d be stunned. “He’s a really good teacher.”
She pouted. “I wish my homeroom teacher was this nice. Guess I should let my grades drop, so that I can join you in E Class.”
“I wouldn’t suggest that, but you’d like him.” This brought another memory to mind; one that Nagisa wasn’t sure Yukie would want to hear, but needed to. He cleared his throat and just blurted it out. “Karma is back, you know? He got dropped to E Class with me.”
Yukie frowned, staring down at the worksheet between her fingers. She tried to seem impassive, but part of her was happy that his suspension was over. They parted on bad terms. It left her feeling guilty.
Faking a smile, Yukie pulled herself onto her feet and stretched. “You know what this study group needs? Snacks and cold drinks. Do you have any in the kitchen?”
“Sorry, no. Mom doesn’t usually buy junk food,” Nagisa answered. He knew what she was doing, but also knew that she probably didn’t want to talk about Karma. “But there’s a store right down the road. We can go there and buy some.”
“I’ll go,” Yukie offered. “I could use the exorcise.” Honestly, she was afraid that Nagisa would bring up Karma again, and she really wasn’t in the mood to dig up bones.
Hesitantly, the blue haired teen agreed and helped split the cost with her – his mom let him keep the extra yen from his last run to the market. He watched her stuff the money into her shorts and leave. Nagisa truly felt bad for making her uneasy.
Successfully making it out of the apartment undetected, Yukie rushed down the first set of steps, counting fifteen as she did. The second flight led to the ground floor and onto the sidewalk. It had a smooth, metal railing that Nagisa and she often slid down whenever they were running late for school. She took it without a second thought, loving the adrenaline rush it gave her.
The landing she stuck with ease, falling into a quick walk as she moved out onto the street. Her mind was racing with so many thoughts – mainly about what kind of snacks she was going buy – that she almost failed to catch the sudden flash of a camera as it went off near her face.
Yukie shut her eyes out of habit, then squeezed them tight. When the bright spots were clear from her vision, she glanced over to the person who took her picture and gasped in surprise.
“Karma, what are you doing here?”
The bright haired teen smiled. “What’s with that look? Thought you’d be happy to see me.” His menacing gold eyes widened in liveliness. “I see; you are. I’m flattered.”
Before she was able to reply, he interrupted her again. “Hold on a second” – he paused to snap another picture of her – “That’s a good one.”
Yukie felt her heart thump in her chest as Karma stepped around her, taking more pictures. Her cheeks warmed up, hearing him whistle. She was honestly unsure of what to say, much less of what to do. He was embarrassing her.
He moved back in front of her and stared at the screen, puckering his brow. “You know … that shirt looks strangely familiar. I feel like I’ve see it before.” Widening his eyes again, he smiled – Yukie was rather cute when she blushed.
“I borrowed it from Nagisa,” the timid girl spoke. For some reason she felt like she shouldn’t have told him this; his smile only seemed to broaden. “Why are you h-here? You don’t even live down this street.”
“Can’t I take a stroll whenever I want to? I happened to just be passing by when I noticed you coming down the stairs, so I waited. What makes you think I want something?”
Yukie frowned; she really didn’t want to go down this road with him. It wasn’t going to end in her favor. “Just leave me alone, Karma. I told you before that I was sorry.” She bit her tongue between her teeth as he moved closer and wrapped an arm over her shoulders.
“Oh, I’m not mad about that anymore … but you should be more careful the next time you go out. If someone from your precious A Class were to catch you socializing with an E Class student, they might cast you out.”
Liar.
He meant to pay her back for what she did.
Karma turned his phone and lined them up for a picture, tugging her closer so that he could lean his cheek against her head.
“Now say, Karma is a bitch.”

Clara Oswald’s Wardrobe: The Eleventh Doctor Years
Yeah. You read it right. I’m back, bitches.
After a brief sojourn (like...two years) into not covering such fascinating topics as Martha’s elegance, Rose’s scrappy jeans, and River Song’s backwards-forwards style routine, I’m back to discuss Doctor Who and costume design, because we all have things we’re good at and mine is yelling about hemlines! So while we all mourn Bill Potts—please come back to the show, Pearl Mackie, I beg you honest-to-god—let’s throw in a flashback to a long time ago, and play around with CLARA OSWIN OSWALD.
Tumblr media
One nasty bit that’s kept me from getting to this post earlier is that Clara’s series 7 arc, thanks to the fragmenting-into-ten-thousand-tiny-pieces bit, is a little hard to view from a “character/costume” perspective. Do I count Oswin as part of her, despite significant differences between "our” Clara and Souffle Girl, or do I view their costume choices separately? What about the Clara from “The Snowmen”? What about the one who ran after Tom Baker in a terrible incident of green-screen-enabled acid reflux?
Tumblr media
Lord. Her feet don’t even hit the floor.
So after a lot of debate, I’m counting them, albeit shyly, and without extending to them the same connective layer I generally use between a character’s costume choices. They’re a part of Clara, so I can’t ignore them, but I won’t assume every choice they make extends to our Clara. After all, discussing all those Claras would just be impossible, wouldn’t it?
Tumblr media
I know. Great segue, right? Join us, pals, for a new edition of The Companion’s Wardrobe.
Tumblr media
When we first meet Oswin, I’m falling over myself because I love her so much. Ok, no, not really. But it’s hard to fend off the charm of this first outfit—it’s a mix of Pure Sex, Geeky Cool Kid, and Perky Sixties Air Stewardess that knocks together a couple diverse style types and leaves us unsure what her whole deal is. There’s the cheeky red dress with the asymmetrical neckline, the rose she tucks behind her ear, the sci-fi tool belt and watch, the youthful-chic sneaker-heels. It goes together, but what ties these into a cohesive character?
Tumblr media
Uh, yeah, Os, and if you’re gonna sass me the whole post you can do it in a more productive fashion. What these posts do is analyze—not assume what the designers meant, ever, but take what we know from the dress, delete from our brains our own metas and conjectures and far-flung notions, fling whether we think it’s pretty out the window except for that one rose tyler outfit. it deserved to be sassed, and try to embrace this as Character Translated Into Dress™ (while of course letting insignificant details slide because not EVERYTHING ties into your analysis, dumbass). We’re being told something, here, or else it’s just shitty costume design.
Which is always perfectly possible.
But no, Oswin’s dress is aiming for something: perfection. Everything about this dress is right, but it’s also TOO much. Too clean. Too fun. She’s polished and pretty and happy and comfortable—and none of it could possibly be real, with a Dalek just outside the door. While most of the wrecked passengers we’ve seen in past under-siege dramas have looked a little wrecked, with a dusty spacesuit or a tattered hairstyle to prove it, Oswin’s perfect bouncy curls and scratch-free outfit signal us far before the Doctor does that something is off.
Tumblr media
Besides the perfection of this outfit, unstained by real life’s messes, there are other hints of what Oswin’s got going for her. The bright red, like a warning signal, should hit us over the head: every other companion is a mish-mash of different hues and patterns, while Oswin reads like a stop sign. The heeled sneakers I love so much are almost kid-like, if not innocent—as is much of Oswin’s made-up life, as she calls her mum and lounges in her chair. She reads as both red-hot “NO” and a perfect, happy, straight-out-of-Pushing-Daisies “yes.”
It’s no wonder we didn’t know what to make of her the first time she showed up. She was popping into every different direction, and somehow making it work.
The next time we see her, the costumes hit us over the head with how this is the same character. Because guess what? The Lady in Red is back.
Tumblr media
Same hair, same low neckline, but a subtler shade of red this time, all over.
Tumblr media
I honestly don’t have a lot to say about this outfit (though it’s INCREDIBLY beautiful), except that red immediately marks Clara out as bold, and vivid, and a little bit larger than life. Remember how Rose dipped into dark reds slowly, after growing out of the safer pinks she got from Jackie? Clara’s already there, wearing blood red all over, inciting the Doctor to do something.
Tumblr media
Until she isn’t. Count me confused.
I’ve got no answers why her bland young charge picks up her red, or why Clara suddenly wears something that departs so drastically from everything she’s coded into her dress previously. Sure, she’s in “disguise,” but isn’t she closer to her true accent now? Why align herself color-wise with the ice monsters? Why ricochet between blue/green and red to further this split personality deal?
I got no answers. Sorry, lads.
Tumblr media
Modern Clara’s still got a touch of that “come on!” red, but it’s minimized. She’s wearing one of those light, tiny-pattern, floaty-fabric things that were SO EVERYWHERE in 2013, but that’s all we get from her. She’s a mystery, dressed in whatever’s currently in fashion, flaunting past a gravestone.
Tumblr media
But the lady in red is never gone for long.
Tumblr media
This is our first time with Proper Clara, and it lays out the elements of Clara’s personal aesthetic that we’ll see for quite some time. Little, adventuresome boots; black tights; a flimsy little dress with a subtle pattern; a big coat, comfortable and practical. The flying bird necklace is lovely. The skirt has the high-low hem of many skirts from this year; we’ll see one like it again. Aside from the visual shout-out to Dalek Oswin in the red dress/short boots combo, all this aligns with what little we know of Clara at this point—she’s competent at whatever she sets her mind to, she’s young, she's both adventuresome and fashionable; she’s very tidy and put-together.
I’d argue her look is still way more put-together than most normal people achieve—think of Rose’s slapdash jeans or Martha’s tank tops—but if I bite the inside of my cheeks and take deep breaths I can accept this as an outfit most TV costume designers would claim is normal, in the same impeccably-dressed “normal” vein of Iris West. It’s pretty, it’s contemporary, but it doesn’t tell me anything much.
Tumblr media
[this briefly-seen outfit, with its cardigan and vintage-y blouse, marks Clara as a sort of pretty-librarian type, though again this look is very in with then-contemporary style.]
Which gets to the root of a problem I have with many of Clara’s outfits in Series 7. Clara is frequently accused of being “boring”—and I firmly believe this has loads to do with the way she dresses, divorced from any opinion on the writing or the plot at this point. Jenna Coleman is an engaging actress, but a lot of the costumes from this era give us a cute, ordinary woman at the expense of furthering her arc in a particular direction.
Tumblr media
There are clues, of course. From the quality of her clothes, she’s somewhere in the middle-class range—not quite as effortlessly classy as soon-to-be doctor Martha, but not quite at Rose’s level of street style either. Clara probably reads The Guardian. Those boots aren’t cheap.
Her outfit is very well put together, though it doesn’t push any boundaries of style. Clara is always tied into contemporary fashion, from this point onwards, with her boots and jacket bringing a little frisson of tough to counter the femininity of the dress and bag. The bag’s a sharp, bossy red, and all together it kind of gives us who Clara thinks she is: perfectly turned out, girlish and flirty, tough enough to deal with a crisis, with just a small splash of opinionated red on the side.
Tumblr media
There’s red, again, in the flashback. (side note: how young is her dad????)
Tumblr media
“Cold War” mixes it up, though this is still Clara: there’s the slightly flared skirt we’ve seen in the past two looks, and the tough jacket firmly in evidence. I love the buttons up the front, though, and the icy shimmer is a nice departure—a little more glam than we’ve seen before from Clara. Considering Clara thought she was heading to Las Vegas, we can see what she thinks is appropriate for a night out right now: that vaguely-retro 1950s look Taylor Swift started, with a strong streak of cute, but nothing your grandmum would hate. (Amy would have had that skirt at least 6 inches shorter and narrower.) She’s girly and tough.
Tumblr media
“Hide” runs along the same lines. (also, bless all these full-costume promo pics.) The gentle cardigan look is back, and aside from the heels it’s all quite demure. It also looks great for the spooky tone of this episode! Incidentally, this is Clara’s third blue outfit in a row, leading me to wonder when we abandoned the vivid red Claras of earlier for these calm, cool, inward-looking young ladies. It’s almost a visual rebuke to the Doctor for seeing her only as the red adventuresses of earlier—those girls were red, sir, but this one is blue, so get your head together and consider the color symbolism.
Tumblr media
Oh. Or fuck me for trying, I guess. That works too. Who needs consistency, am I right?
Aside from me throwing myself out the window because the red keeps coming back but I can’t figure out WHY, this dress is a lot like Clara’s others. Her favorite pair of boots is back, and it’s quite buttoned-up and modest, if a little shorter than before. And the tightrope of bold-but-girly continues to be Clara’s calling card, with the minimal jewelry keeping her just on this side of not-too-dressed-up.
It’s telling that she stands out in this episode, though: she’s in stark opposition to the cold blues worn by the Doctor and his TARDIS, a visible antagonist as these two question and frighten her about her right to belong.
“The Crimson Horror” gives us two great Clara looks, which is great because holy shit look what they did to this skirt.
Tumblr media
I can’t quite explain what happened here, because for all the world it looks like they took apart a 1910s-style hobble skirt and  threw in a gradient underskirt for the solid reason of Why The Hell Not, but I love it despite it being bonkers-levels of  historically inaccurate.
Then there’s this.
Tumblr media
I LOVE THIS TOO, but character-wise I really have to grit my teeth because I don’t get why Clara, ordinary girl from the twenty-first as she seems to be, would have either the knowledge or the inclination to dress her hair in the elaborate fashions of the period.  But it’s a spot-on perfect dress, with none of the historic bumbling Rose managed on her first try. It lacks the super-puff sleeves of the 1890s, but I can live with it because of those fantastic little V’s down the front. It’s perfect.
Tumblr media
We’re back in red for “Nightmare in Silver,” and everything’s very much Normal Clara: the little heeled shoes, the slightly flared skirt, the tights and the tough jacket and the trim little collar. With stronger fabric choices, she looks more in control than ever; she’s developed slightly away from the girlishness of those high-low skirts, though that girly quality is still there in the short skirt. Her arc has not been consistently signaled so far in either silhouette or color choices, but this outfit marks Clara as being more in command than ever before.
Tumblr media
In the finale, she’s in same silhouette as last time, but new shoes (Clara seemingly adores footwear that combines heels, boots, and little oxford-y things into one package). Compared to her first modern outfit, she’s much more visually controlled—dark-hued, geometrically patterned, no more flounce or flutter. The color scheme is much more similar to the blue/green of the governess outfit, and red’s completely vanished—she couldn’t be farther from the saucy little barmaid act in “The Snowmen.” And yet by the end of the episode, she’s shattered into her—and into a girl with spikes on her jacket, and a girl dressed like Sarah Jane Smith, and a girl and a girl and a girl and a girl.......
Tumblr media
I can’t explain this. I’d love to say that Clara coalesces into a firm costume arc over the season, but I can’t find a clear arc without pushing my designer’s brain to untenable conclusions. Through costume, I watched Martha grow from a confident student to a warrior; I watched Rose grow from a thoughtless girl to a brave woman. River developed in ways that suggested where she was going and where she came from, despite the challenges of a plotline her costume designers couldn’t plan for. Series 7 Clara stretches my brain, and I still come up empty. Where was all that red going? Can a change so slight as “pretty girlish” to “a little less so” count as an arc? Did someone not tell Howard Burden the plot, so he couldn’t plan a clearer costume progression? What happened here????
Thankfully, Clara’s not done growing yet, though. Onto the specials!
Tumblr media
Clara begins "The Day of the Doctor” in, again, red. I quietly scream because red can be such a dramatic and weighty color and I hate seeing it just pop up for reasons I can’t make sense of. Clara ignores my protests and hops into her adventure.
Tumblr media
This outfit’s perfectly within the same realm as Clara’s previous gigs: heeled boots, check; black tights, check; small-print non-geometric pattern on lightweight fabric, all present sir; cheeky red and tough black jacket, reporting for duty. This outfit could have shown up any point in Series 7 and I would have accepted it. Clara’s working as a schoolteacher now (a very chic one), and the whole outfit reads as saucy and cute and just a little badass.
And then “Time of the Doctor.” Oh, I love the “Time of the Doctor” costumes. This is great. This is when Clara starts making sense.
Tumblr media
Clara gets two outfits in this: the cheeky yellow-sweater one, and the red-plaid-skirty one. They’re both very twee and pseudo-vintage and Britishy, which is very much in Clara’s realm so far, but they take what Clara’s already had and push it—heartily, extremely, and in a way it’ll never recover from—into bold new territory.
Tumblr media
Clara’s style has shifted in this episode. With the proud geometric plaid, the bright red hue, and the overall sharper fit, Clara has absolutely moved on from the girlishness from “The Rings of Akhaten” into something far more confident and controlled. There are significant details: the little infinity-symbols of her cardigan, the spikes on her necklace and bracelets, and the old-fashioned lace on her blouse make an unusual combo that finally distinguishes her from an H&M commercial. It’s strong and decisive, a little bit bossy, with boldness winning out over cute. Fashionable? Yeah! Modern? Always! But powerful, too, taking up the screen with tight shapes and controlled blocks of color.
Tumblr media
The yellow sweater and leather skirt hit the same notes. The feminine flutter of early Series 7 is truly gone; without changing Clara’s style completely, the smack-you-in-the-face mustard sweater and the edge of the leather angle her away from “feminine adventuress” into “adventurer femme.” The priorities shift. It’s the signal of where Clara is going from here—into deeper, darker territory.
Tumblr media
So, what do we take from this? Though Clara started out as a bit of a cipher—thanks to red dresses leading us in one direction, and then cute little floral pattern outfits taking us in another—over Series 7 Clara gradually came together as a bolder, more in-command character, and even started to develop a style of her own that verged beyond the norm. Where could that take us in Series 8? How will her costumes change to interact with an entirely new Doctor? Will I ever get to see that bird pendant necklace again? (yes.) Who knows! I’ll have to write a post about it!
Whatever happens, it’s going to be an awfully big adventure.
Tumblr media
[Got thoughts & questions? Come at me! I love talking about costume, and anyway I had to edit this post extensively to even get it to post, so I couldn’t even mention things people might wonder about. LORD I LOVE COSTUME DESIGN SO MUCH.]

Hi Shortcake! Can I ask for headcanons where Kirishima, Bakugou and Todoroki spend Christmas with their crush and they end up confessing their feelings?
Christmas must be a time for proposals and confessions, it seems~ So many romantic anons are just sending in so many of these requests and I love it!
Here we go, sweeties~! More Christmas requests coming ya’lls way~!
-Mod Shortcake 🍰🍰🍰
Kirishima:
You tried to spend the days before Christmas with Kirishima, subtly trying to go on… “friend” dates with him and maybe do some shopping, but he was always too busy with something or gave a weak excuse not to.
Maybe he could tell that you liked him? If that was the case then you’d much rather him tell you to your face that he didn’t feel the same…
This was just mean, especially for him.
But on Christmas morning, you woke up with a jolt. Something hard smacked into your window and you scrambled up to look at the snow residue on the glass. Another snowball hit the window and you hurried over to see who was doing that.
Kirishima grinned and waved at you. “Hey!”
You hurried down stairs and practically flew out the front door to see him all bundled up, grinning at you. “What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be with your family or something?”
Kirishima shakes his head and tells you that his folks are okay with him visiting you for the day, and after getting permission from your parents to go out on Christmas day, you go out with Kirishima to explore the town.
Not too many people are out and businesses are closed today for the holiday, so you too go to a peaceful neighborhood park and admire the snow.
Though that’s short lived when Kirishima initiates a snowball fight, to which you fought back and failed when a snowball smack you right in the face.
As sorry, you two instead start to build a snowman. He didn’t have a face, but that was okay. He didn’t need one since you two didn’t take building one too seriously. “He looks great!” You smiled wide, proud of what you two accomplished.
Just as he was about to take you home, snow began to gently fall to the earth, blanketing the scenery in a fresh coat of snow. You smiled wide in awe. “Wow… it’s beautiful…”
“I think you’re more beautiful.” Kirishima said casually, making you blush and double take. “H-Huh? What?”
Kirishima blushed. “Ah- You know! I think you’re really pretty, (F/N)!” He fell silent for a moment, facing you before continuing, “And I was hoping to ask if… you wanted to be my girlfriend. You don’t have to if you don’t feel the same though! So no problem-”
“I’d love to be your girlfriend, Eijiro.” You smiled at him sincerely, speaking his first name to show him how serious you were.
Bakugou:
Your family and Katsuki’s family were good friends, so the rowdy blonde was dragged to your home on Christmas day for a small get together.
Growing up, he hated spending big holidays at other people’s houses cuz that meant he couldn’t do what he wanted to and had to be somewhat polite and shit. His mother made sure of that.
You were the only kid his age there that he could play with, and though he wasn’t big on playing with girls, there was no way around it. However, as years and Christmases went by, he learned to not care and treat you like one of the guys. You didn’t mind that either.
If anything, it was weirder for him to treat you like a girl, and that didn’t start happening until this Christmas.
You guys haven’t talked or seen each other in months since he started attending Yuuei, and when he saw you again, wearing makeup that complimented your features and an outfit that showed off just how much you’ve grown as a young woman (but modest since you were never into revealing, girly attire), Bakugou didn’t know what to do with himself.
He had a hard time looking at you during the Christmas dinner and when his parents told him to go hang out with you in the living room or outside in the snow, he snapped at them in front of everyone. His mother was not happy with this outburst.
You beat his mother to snapping at him though. “Why are you avoiding me, Katsuki? What, to good to hang out with me now since you’re going to your big shot hero school with all your big shot friends?” Everyone stared, but you just snatched up your food and moved into the other room to eat, muttering a quiet “sorry” under your breath.
Your mother explained that you’ve been feeling down ever since Bakugou went to Yuuei and stopped talking to you on the regular basis.
Bakugou left his food and went into the living room, spotting you on the couch eating your food with a very sour look. It got worse when you sensed him staring at you.
“…you don’t have to be nice or some shit like that cuz it’s Christmas. Leave me alone.” You snapped at him and Bakugou just narrowed his eyes on you before plopping down beside you. “Shut up. A damned holiday isn’t going to fucking change my attitude, shitty (F/N).”
You rolled your eyes, not expecting anything more than that from Bakugou. You nearly choked though when you felt his hand grab you by the other side of your head, reached around you to pull your head down onto his shoulder. You blushed.
“What the hell are you doing, Katsuki?” You were tense and flustered, confused as you tried to look up at him. He wasn’t looking at you, but at the fireplace. He spat out. “Stop being so fucking jealous and petty, (F/N)! It’s annoying!”
“What-” You glared at him, “Is this your attempt at making me feel better, stupid?!”
“Shut the fuck up! At least I came over here to talk to you! Damn it, when did you get so difficult and moody and shit!? You’re lucky your fucking cute-” He cut himself off, his face flushing and his blood pressure rising. You slowly grinned at him. “I’m what now? Kacchan… Are you…? I mean, if you wanted to be my boyfriend… All had to do was ask.” You teased him cruelly.
He clicked his tongue in annoyance. “You? Being my girlfriend? Why would I want someone so fucking moody and annoying…” Bakugou looked at you and was immediately taken by your eyes. He was silent for a moment before growling out, “But do you wanna be?”
“Yes, I do.” You smiled back at him, breaking eye contact with but keeping your head on his shoulder.
Todoroki:
You and your family had your traditions on Christmas, but this year, you asked them in advance if you could spend Christmas day with your good friend Todoroki.
You briefly explained to your parents Todoroki’s relationship with his father (not going into details though) and they understood that you just wanted to make Todoroki’s Christmas memorable someway. They didn’t mind at all.
So, on Christmas day, went out with Todoroki to explore the mostly empty streets. You two did small things together like going to a shrine to give a Christmas prayer and offering, explored the town and looked at all the closed shops to see what was still on display in their windows, and settled down at a movie theater.
You didn’t expect the theater to be open, but it was, so you two went in to see a movie together. Thankfully, the theater wasn’t crowded, so it was almost like you two had the theater all to yourselves.
It was a very pleasant Christmas day!
After all of these things were said and done, you looked Todoroki asked him, “Did you have fun today, Shouto?”
He looked at you and nodded. “Yeah. I’m not used to doing stuff like this on Christmas, so it was pretty refreshing.” You smiled and agreed with him, usually spending it with your family and stuff. But then it made you curious. “What do you usually do on Christmas then?”
He told you that Christmas was treated like just another day in his house. His father was far from festive and his brothers didn’t go too far out of their way to change that. His sister does get him presents when she can and make herself and the siblings a small Christmas dinner, but other than that, not much.
Today was different though, because Todoroki actually got something for his mom this year and took it to her, and now he was here spending the rest of his day with you. This was much more to his liking for spending Christmas.
Todoroki told you all this as well and stopped walking, making you stop just as snow started to fall gently on them. “I have something for you too, (F/N).” He walked up to you, getting closer and closer to you until you felt his lips press against your forehead. You blushed and stared up at him. “What was that for, Shouto?”
“I like you, (F/N). I like you more than I’ve liked anyone else before.” He told you simply, his warm breath and presence lingering near you. “Do you… feel the same for me?”
You blushed and suddenly felt like the winter cold was no longer there. Everything felt warm and fluffy and you were enveloped with excitement. “I like you too, Shouto! I’ve liked you for a very long time.” You smiled up at him, your cheeks and nose red.

Pathetic, Clinging Poetry - Chapter 14 (of 25)
Previous Chapter // Next Chapter
Pearl rested her elbows against the windowsill as she gazed out at the bright blue sky. The view from this new house was lovely; that was one thing Whitney hadn't lied about. They had a fair amount of land -- Pearl had a feeling her mother was planning to start a garden -- and there was a thick patch of woods just within walking distance; the tree branches were bare and coated with ice, but Pearl knew they'd be even more beautiful in the spring. Despite all of the beauty laying just before her, Pearl's heart still ached. She couldn't bring herself to smile at the sunny blue sky, or the squirrel scurrying through the patches of snow in the yard, or the opportunity to explore those woods... She knew why she was here, and all the nature in the world could never compensate for what she'd left behind.
Taking a deep breath, Pearl laid back against her pillow. The composition notebook lay on the other side of her bed, but there mere sight of it only made her even more nauseous. She kicked it in a fit of frustration, and it slid down into the gap between her bed and the wall.
Knock knock. Pearl instinctively bolted upright as the door creaked open. To her relief, it was only Peony.
"Aren't you ever going to come out?" Peony whined. "I know you're sad, but I've been so bored lately... Besides, it's not good to stay cooped up in here all day."
Pearl huffed. "What is there to do?" she grumbled. "I don't even know anybody in this stupid town, and probably never will."
"Well, you have me..." Peony said, looking rather disappointed.
Pearl forced a smile. "I know, I know... Look, we can... go for a walk or something, if you really are that bored."
"Yes, I'd love to!" Peony immediately brightened up.
The two girls made their way downstairs, slipping into their winter coats and boots before heading towards the back door. "Be back in a while, mom!" Peony called. "We're just going for a walk."
"Alright, be safe, girls!" Whitney called back. The mere sound of her voice made Pearl cringe, and she hurried out the door without another word. Rolling her eyes, Peony followed close behind.
"I don't know how you can even look her in the eye anymore..." Pearl said, shoving her hands into her pockets as she walked through the muddy grass, the ground squeaking beneath her boots.
"Because she's our mom." Peony stated, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Besides... While I do wish we could have stayed back in Beach City, you can't deny that there were a lot of... negative influences back there."
Pearl shot her a glare, which made Peony tense. "Look, all I'm saying is... Mom's doing what she thinks is best for us." Peony continued, turning her gaze up towards the sky. "I don't fully understand all of it... but that doesn't mean she's wrong."
"If you don't even understand it, then how do you know she's right?" Pearl huffed.
Peony lifted the bottom of her ankle-length skirt as she stepped over a pile of snow, not wanting to get it wet. "Well... I don't really know, I guess." Peony shrugged. "But... I do know that God has a plan for both of us. If we weren't meant to be where we are right now, we wouldn't be here. He would've stopped us from coming here somehow."
Pearl blinked away tears. "What if..." she began, her voice cracking. "What if mom is doing the wrong thing? What if she's outright disobeying God? What if she's just selfish and controlling and it has nothing to do with whatever God wants? Have you considered that, Peony?"
"I..." Peony clenched her fists. "I... I don't know, Pearl. Maybe I shouldn't have brought this up."
"I just want to go home." Pearl choked, cupping her hands over her face. "I just want my friends back... I'm never going to see them again, Peony! I can't do this..." She finally broke down. Peony stood beside her in silence, struggling to think of something, anything she could say that would comfort her sister... But it seemed like everything she'd said these past few minutes only made things worse.
After a few moments of uncomfortable silence (aside from Pearl's sobbing), Peony approached Pearl and gave her a gentle hug. "I know... I'm sorry.”
Pearl stretched her arms as she sat upright, drawing in a deep breath. Once she'd rubbed the sleep from her eyes, she glanced down towards Amethyst and smiled warmly. A tiny bit of hair had grown on her chin overnight; Pearl gave it a cautious stroke, not wanting to wake Amethyst, but still loving the feeling of her scruffy chin. 'So cute...' Once she'd finally pulled her gaze away from Amethyst, Pearl rose from the bed and tiptoed over to the basket of folded laundry, deciding to put together her outfit for the day.
Amethyst rolled over onto her side. "Hey." she greeted, smiling at Pearl with a sleepy expression in her eyes.
"Good morning." Pearl responded as she slipped out of her pajamas. "I hope I didn't wake you."
"Nah, was already starting to wake up." Amethyst said, smiling as she admired the view. Over the past few weeks, Pearl had grown more comfortable undressing in front of Amethyst, and while she knew she wasn't ready for any kind of intimacy beyond kissing and bed sharing, she still couldn't keep her eyes off of Pearl's beautiful figure.
"That's good." Pearl slipped into one of her knee-length skirts, smoothing it out with her hands.
"Hey... not to be nosy, but just wondering; do you own any pants?" Amethyst asked. "I've just noticed you only ever wear skirts. I've always been curious about that."
"Oh... I guess not." Pearl smiled awkwardly. "I was raised a conservative Pentecostal. Almost none of the women at our church wore pants, just long skirts and dresses. It's a way of being modest and feminine, I guess. It's something I never really thought too much about."
"Hmm, I get ya." Amethyst said as she sat upright. "Well... Are you still, uh, a conservative Pentecostal?"
Pearl shook her head. "Definitely not. I mean... I still believe in God, but... not the way I was raised to, at least." Pearl buttoned up her blouse and tucked it into her skirt, looking herself over in the mirror. "I guess I just... never really thought much of it. I kind of forgot what it's like to wear pants, in all honesty, so I've never had any desire to change my wardrobe. That's not strange, is it?"
"No, not really." Amethyst said. "I was just curious. But ya know... If you ever decide you wanna change things up, I'll be glad to help you. I've got plenty of experience with that."
Pearl smiled. "Oh, you do?"
"Yeah. And I've done it more times than I can count." Amethyst reached for her brush on the nightstand and began to smooth out the knots in her hair. "Like, when I first realized I was a girl, I thought I had to be super feminine for anyone to take me seriously. I wore skirts and dresses and pink stuff and all that shit, I even shaved my legs and wore a face full of makeup... And then I realized, hey, this sucks. I don't have to do all that shit to be a girl."
"I see..." Pearl said, reaching for the brush once Amethyst was finished and smoothing out her own hair.
"Yeah." Amethyst said. "So at one point, I realized that like... I don't have to be girly to be a girl. Sure, I like a little eyeliner and lipgloss now and then, I even paint my nails sometimes -- but I also like being hairy and wearing flannels and tank tops. And I became a lot more comfortable with being a girl once I realized that." Amethyst shrugged. "I dunno, you don't have to, but... You ever consider trying out a new style? Doesn't even have to be a manly one, could just be a different kind of feminine. Just to help you move past the way you were raised."
"Maybe..." Pearl shrugged, blushing as she twirled a strand of hair around her finger. "At the very least, I should get a haircut. It's getting a bit too long for my liking. And perhaps I could try out some new clothes at the mall... Maybe go wild and give pants a try, ha!"
"Oooh, I see where this is going!" Amethyst jumped to her feet. "Let's go out to the mall with the girls today! I need to re-dye my hair, anyway." she said, gesturing to the black roots on her scalp.
"Aw, well..." Pearl blushed. "I guess that could be fun... I haven't seen Garnet and Peridot in quite a while, have I?"
"You sure haven't!" Amethyst grinned. "I'll text Dot and Garnet! They'll be sooo excited to see you again!"
"You're sure they won't be annoyed with me?" Pearl said. "I still feel terrible for not showing up to our last mall date..."
"Nah, they'll totally understand! They know you had stuff going on, and they could tell you were shy, anyway." Amethyst said with a wink, fishing her phone out from underneath the blankets and sending out a text to Peridot and Garnet. "Besides, you're the mom friend of the group. Peridot needs you around if she finds another centipede in her shower."
Pearl burst into laughter. "I guess that's true, isn't it? I'm still so proud of that."
"Aaah, this is gonna be so fun!" Amethyst bounced with excitement. "How do you think you'll get your hair cut? You wanna go risky and get a buzzcut? Maybe even dye it a wild color like mine?"
"I'm not sure I'd go that far..." Pearl brushed a strand of hair from her face. "I think I'm fairly content with my natural strawberry blonde. I honestly just want a trim so it doesn't look like an awkward bob anymore."
"Aww, but you'd look soooo cute with some pink highlights..." Amethyst pouted. "I won't push, though. No matter what you get done, it's gonna be a great time, and you'll look hot!"
Pearl beamed. "Yeah! It'll be lots of fun." she said, grabbing her deodorant and toothbrush from her backpack. Even though she'd been living there for a few months, now, she still couldn't break the habit of keeping all of her belongings in her bag. "Well, guess I should finish getting myself cleaned up... Be right back!" she said, heading off to the bathroom.
The mall was filled with the sounds of chattering, music, and children running around and laughing in the play area. Pearl walked a few steps behind the other three girls -- at least until Amethyst reached back and nudged her forward. "Keep up, princess!" she teased. "Want me to hold your hand so you don't fall behind?"
"Ah, um, sure!" Pearl blushed; she noticed Peridot and Garnet grinning at the sight of this, but neither of them said anything, to Pearl's relief.
"Have you decided what you'll be doing with your hair?" Garnet asked.
"Not entirely sure... But I certainly want it shorter than this." Pearl said, blowing away a strand of hair that had started to fall onto her face. "It's in that awkward stage where it's constantly in the way, but too short to put in a ponytail."
"I was thinking of getting some pink and blue highlights." Garnet said, turning to Peridot and ruffling her hair. "And this little butch is probably going to sit and read a magazine, aren't you?"
"You bet your ass I am!" Peridot said. "I cut and dye my own hair."
"I don't blame you." Pearl reassured. "I've had so many horrible experiences with getting my hair done, too; I was lucky my mother let me cut it as short as she did, but she always told the stylist to make sure I didn't look like a boy or a lesbian."
"I'll tell the stylist to make you look extra lesbian if you want." Amethyst teased.
Pearl giggled. "No need for that. I just want a trim, that's all."
"Yeah, I know. Just saying, though, you'd look really cute if you got something super short." Amethyst said. "Not that you're not already cute as fuck."
"Maybe I will..." Pearl said, blushing a little bit. "Y-you're pretty cute yourself, too."
"You're cuter." Amethyst whispered, pressing a kiss to Pearl's knuckles. Before their playful flirting could continue any longer, they'd reached the hair salon. As they walked in and seated themselves in the waiting room, Pearl couldn't help but notice the heavy scent of hairspray and shampoo in the air. Reaching for one of the magazines in the basket, she flipped through the pages in search of some ideas. Amethyst's suggestion, however, didn't seem to be leaving her head anytime soon... 'Perhaps I could get the short and risky haircut my mother would definitely disapprove of.' she thought with a growing smile.
"Hmm, what do you think?" Amethyst asked, gesturing to a picture in the magazine she was holding. "I was thinking of just getting my purple re-done, but I think some silver streaks would look pretty cool, too!"
"Ohh, you're right!" Pearl beamed. "That would look lovely on you! I say you should go for it."
"I think I will." Amethyst grinned, setting the magazine aside but leaving it open on that particular page. "How about you? Any styles catch your eye?"
"None in particular, but..." Pearl flipped through the magazine and hummed with thought. "I think I might end up going with your idea after all. I want to go super short! Maybe an undercut of some kind."
"Hell yeah, that's the spirit!" Amethyst gave Pearl a playful nudge. "But only if you want to, alright? I might've been a little pushy about it..."
"Not at all. In fact, I think it's just the push I needed!" Pearl beamed, pressing a gentle kiss to Amethyst's forehead.
"Alright, good to hear." Amethyst returned the kiss. She reached for Pearl's hand and gently tangled their fingers together, letting out a sigh of content as she rested her head against her shoulder.
Once they left the salon, Pearl couldn't keep her fingers out of her hair; not only was it soft from being shampooed, but the feeling of the freshly buzzed hair on the side of her head felt so lovely on her fingers. In the end, she'd decided on a short undercut; trimmed just enough to keep her hair out of her face, but long enough so that she could still run her fingers through it.
As they passed the various stores throughout the mall, Pearl caught the occasional glimpse of herself in the reflection of the glass windows. 'I look... boyish.' she thought, her heart racing. 'Especially when I'm holding hands with Amethyst...' But for some strange reason, that thought almost excited her.
As they entered one of the clothing stores, Amethyst immediately began bouncing with excitement. "Ohh, you'd look really cute in that!" Amethyst said, gesturing to one of the mannequins. It was wearing dark green overalls with a minty green striped blouse underneath.
"You think so?" Pearl blushed.
"Totally!" Amethyst said. "You wanna try it on?"
"Ah, sure! I don't see why not." Pearl said, searching through the clothing rack to make sure the outfit was in her size. Once she found it, she turned her gaze back to Amethyst. "But since I'm trying this on, I want to pick out an outfit for you as well!"
"Oh yeah?" Amethyst grinned.
"Yep!" Pearl said. "Ah, let's see..." She glanced around the store for some kind of inspiration; Garnet was looking through the array of hair clips and sunglasses, while Peridot stood nearby on her phone, probably playing that one Pokemon game she was always talking about. She then glanced towards the lingerie section, but immediately averted her eyes. 'No, no, not that!' she thought, blushing at the mere idea of telling Amethyst to try on lingerie for her -- and in public at that!
"You good?" Amethyst asked, noticing the blush on Pearl's face.
"Yes! Um..." Not wanting Amethyst to know about the thought she'd just had, Pearl turned and pointed at the first outfit she saw; it was a short, black sundress with a pink flower pattern. "That'd look lovely on you! Oh, wait..." Pearl blushed. "Sorry, I forgot you didn't like dresses."
"Hey, I'm not opposed to them." Amethyst said. "Just don't like wearing them all the time. But nothing wrong with putting on a dress for a little fashion show." she added with a wink.
"We're having a fashion show now?" Peridot raised an eyebrow.
"Ooh, that sounds fun! I want to pick out your outfit!" Garnet exclaimed, clasping her hands together with excitement.
"So that means I'll be picking out yours... I hope you're ready to look like a clown." Peridot snorted.
"Aw, hush, I'm sure you could put together something nice!" Garnet patted Peridot on the back.
"You two nerds go pick out each others outfits while me and Pearl try ours on." Amethyst said with a grin, grabbing Pearl's hand and leading her towards the women's dressing room. Beaming with excitement, Pearl closed the door behind herself and locked it. 'Never thought this bunch would be the type to have a fashion show at the mall...' Pearl thought as she undressed.
As she reached for the pair of overalls, she caught a glimpse of her body in the mirror. 'I'm so scrawny...' she thought, staring at her flat chest and the way her ribs protruded from her torso. While it certainly wasn't news to her, she still couldn't help feeling a little bit self conscious every now and then; a combination of a fast metabolism, a picky appetite, and genetics all contributed to her being so thin. But she remembered the way Amethyst held her whenever she slept in her bed, kissing her and telling her how lovely she looked, and she couldn't help but smile again.
Pearl slipped into the overalls; the way they hugged her legs felt... strange, somewhat foreign, but not necessarily in a bad way. She then buttoned up the pretty green blouse and tucked it in, fastening the suspenders over her shoulders. She slipped back into her shoes and looked at herself in the mirror once more, a slight blush on her cheeks. 'Goodness... I look more boyish than ever.' she thought. Pearl found herself staring at her reflection for a few moments, unable to hide the happy feeling bubbling up inside of her. The word Garnet had used to describe Peridot earlier that day -- butch -- ran through her mind, and a smile spread across her face. But she shook off the silly feeling, remembering it was just a little game of dressup, and that she'd have to change back into her more feminine clothes soon. Still, the joy in her chest lingered as she unlocked the dressing room door and stepped out into the store.
Garnet and Peridot were sitting in the chairs just outside the dressing room, and they applauded as Pearl walked out.
"Woohoo, you look cute as hell!" Peridot cheered.
"Very nice." Garnet added with a warm smile. "It suits you so well."
"Aww, thanks." Pearl blushed, shoving her hands into the big front pocket. "I sort of wish I had the money for it... Amethyst only had enough to pay for my haircut, unfortunately."
"I could buy it for you, if you'd like." Garnet said.
"Ah, I could never make you do that! I don't know when or if I'll be able to pay you back..." Pearl smiled sadly. "It's very kind of you to offer, though."
"Your birthday is in June, isn't it?" Garnet asked, tilting her head. "Consider it an early birthday gift."
"Ah... well, thank you." Pearl blushed. She honestly didn't remember telling Garnet her birthday -- maybe Amethyst had mentioned it at some point? "Only if you're sure it's alright."
"I am! You look lovely in it, you deserve to wear it more than once." Garnet reassured. "Amethyst, are you almost done?" she added, glancing over towards the other dressing room.
"Yeah, just a sec!" Amethyst called. "Just, uh -- Pearl, could you come in and help me with this zipper in the back?"
"Oh, sure thing!" Pearl said. She headed into the dressing room and locked the door behind herself once she was in. "Let me see."
"Thanks, P. Zippers are always a pain in the ass." Amethyst said, turning her back towards Pearl and moving her long hair over her shoulder. Pearl reached for the zipper and gave it a gentle tug, sliding it up with ease. "There we go!" Pearl clasped her hands together.
"Thanks." Amethyst said, grinning as she turned around to face Pearl. "And since you came in to my rescue, you get to be the first one to see me in this dress." she said, flipping her hair dramatically. "How's it look?"
"It's lovely..." Pearl said, admiring the way the dress framed her chubby figure.
"You think so, huh?" Amethyst whispered, standing up on her tippy toes. "Because I think you look just as good... Maybe even better. Look at you, stepping outta your comfort zone and letting yourself be a tomboy..." Amethyst licked her lips, slowly casting her gaze down towards Pearl's mouth.
Pearl stared into her eyes, taking a moment to process just what Amethyst was silently begging for. Once it clicked, Pearl immediately complied; she pressed a soft kiss to her plump lips, letting out a quiet groan as Amethyst gripped onto her shoulders and pinned her against the wall.
Her cheeks burning, Pearl ran her fingers through Amethyst's hair; normally it was soft, yet filled with a handful of tangles, but after their visit to the salon it was smoother than silk. Pearl found her hands slowly inching downwards, but stopped at Amethyst's hips once she remembered they were in a public dressing room. As their lips parted, Pearl panted softly and wiped a bit of saliva away from her mouth.
"Goodness gracious..." she breathed.
"Heh... I swear that wasn't the original plan." Amethyst whispered. "Really just wanted help with my zipper, but... You looked so dang hot, had to get a taste..."
"Mhm, sure it wasn't." Pearl winked. Taking a deep breath, she smoothed out her blouse and re-adjusted her suspenders.
"Well... Guess we should head out. We got a fashion show to attend." Amethyst winked back, stepping out into the store again before Pearl could even say anything else. After looking herself over in the mirror to make sure her face wasn't too red (it was), she soon followed.
"No dirty jokes, we just took a while because my zipper just got stuck, I swear." Amethyst said to Garnet and Peridot.
"We weren't going to make any." Peridot rolled her eyes.
"I was." Garnet snorted. "But anyway, the colors of the dress really compliment your hair."
"Yeah. Why don't you wear dresses more often?" Peridot said, resting her chin in her hands.
"I dunno. Just like pants more, I guess... But maybe I'll end up buying this one, it's pretty comfy. Nice and breezy for when it gets hot outside, too. What do you think, Pearl?" Amethyst turned to Pearl.
"Well, if you think you'll wear it, I say you should buy it!" Pearl said.
"Maybe I will." Amethyst said, strutting over towards Peridot and Garnet. "Now get your butts up and try on your outfits! Me and Pierogi wanna see a fashion show, too!"
"Alright, let's get this over with!" Peridot announced as she rose to her feet. "I hope my selection for you was decent..."
"I'm sure it is." Garnet said, making her way towards the dressing room.
As the two girls changed into their outfits, Pearl leaned back in the chair and relaxed, slowly reaching for Amethyst's hand and tangling their fingers together. Amethyst squeezed Pearl's hand tight, giving her knuckles a kiss and gazing into her eyes with a soft expression. "Hey..." she said, smiling softly.
"Hi there." Pearl whispered, pressing a kiss to Amethyst's knuckles as well. "While I am enjoying our little fashion show... I do wish we could have stayed in that dressing room just a moment longer."
"Aw, you liked that lil makeout session we had in there, didn't you?" Amethyst teased, booping Pearl's nose with her free hand. She tensed for a moment, glancing around the area to make sure nobody was standing nearby before leaning in and kissing Pearl on the lips once more. "There's plenty more where that came from."
The locks on the dressing rooms clicked, and Pearl immediately pulled her gaze away from Amethyst's face -- but she kept her grip tight on Amethyst's hand.
Peridot and Garnet both stepped out in their respective outfits; Peridot was dressed in a slightly-too-big button up shirt with some dress pants, and Garnet was in a white tank top with a pink sweater on top, and a black-and-white striped maxi skirt. The latter twirled around to show off her skirt, a huge grin on her face before she turned to Peridot. "Tuck your shirt in, it'll look nicer that way!"
Peridot blushed, tucking the baggy shirt into her jeans. "Hmf, if you insist." she mumbled. "Can I put my shorts back on now?"
"Aww, but you look so handsome in that!" Pearl cooed, clasping her hands together.
Peridot buried her face into her hands and grumbled incoherently. Pearl wasn't quite sure what to make of that response, but once she saw the slight smile from between Peridot's fingers, she relaxed and smiled as well.
"Maybe we should head out soon. As cute as she looks, we all know fashion shows aren't really Dot's thing." Amethyst said.
"That's true." Garnet gave Peridot a playful nudge. "Do you want go to the pet store and play with the dogs?"
"Hell yeah!" Peridot cheered, zooming right back into the dressing room to change back into her clothes before anyone could say anything else.
'Guess the fashion show is over... That went by quick.' Pearl thought. She made her way back towards the dressing rooms and retrieved her blouse and skirt, changing back into them. As much as she'd loved wearing the overalls, she still felt a strange sense of relief when she changed back into her more feminine, "ladylike" clothing.
As Pearl began settling in for bed that night, she changed into her nightgown and brushed her hair like she always did; she noticed the way her brush went through her short hair with ease. With a sigh of content, she laid down on the bed and adjusted herself beneath the blankets as she got comfortable.
"You're really liking that new haircut, aren't you?" Amethyst remarked, running her fingers across Pearl's scalp as she snuggled up to her.
"Mhm... It's so fun to play with." Pearl mumbled sleepily. She buried her face into the top of Amethyst's head and took in the lingering scent of her shampoo. Pearl let out another happy sigh as she played with her hair and twirled it around her fingers. "Thank you for taking me out to get it done... I guess I needed it more than I realized."
"Aw, well, I love spoiling you." Amethyst smiled warmly, kissing Pearl on the cheek. "By the way, uh... I guess there's something I wanted to talk about."
"Hm?" Pearl asked. Normally that kind of preface would send her anxiety up to the sky, but the tone in Amethyst's voice reassured her that it wasn't going to be anything bad.
"I was wondering... I know you said you weren't too sure about what we are right now..." Amethyst began. "But... I dunno. I think, if you're comfortable with it... We kinda already are girlfriends at this point, you know? I know you said you're more comfortable calling us friends that kiss each other, and if you wanna stick with that, we can, but... I think, in a way, that's kind of what girlfriends are." Feeling a little bit shy, Amethyst averted her gaze. "I dunno... What do you think?"
Pearl took a moment to ponder Amethyst's suggestion, running her fingers through Amethyst's silky hair. "Perhaps you're right... The world girlfriend has always felt so... heavy to me. Like I'm committing to something huge, and permanent, and that we'll either get married or... or have a painful breakup." Pearl shuddered. "But... perhaps it doesn't have to be like that. I think... the way you described girlfriend is so much more comfortable to me, so... I think, maybe... I am your girlfriend, Amethyst. No matter what we call it, I want to stay like this with you."
"I wanna stay like this, too." Amethyst whispered. She cupped Pearl's cheeks and brought their lips together in a long, soft kiss.

Ok so Ive noticed very few people asking things for my Hetalia girls so what kind of fashion style do the Hetalia girls have?
Aww yeah! I love writing for these girls! I put a lot of thought into these, so I apologize if they’re a bit long! Hope you enjoy! ~Admin Sarah
Belarus: Anything comfortable.Natayla loves wearing clothes that are comfortable. She would rather wear a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt, than force herself into skinny jeans or a tight dress, unless she was feeling it. Most of the time her hair is just brushed down and straight, and she wears little to no makeup, unless it’s a special occasion. She also hates when people stare at her, so she tries not to wear flashy clothes.
Belgium: Cute but practical. Bella loves to look cute, but that isn’t her go to style. She will often wear cargo pants, or any pants with a lot of pockets, as well as a shirt that will keep her..modest, while moving around a lot. She’d try to find clothes like that in cute colors, and not just boring brown or tan all the time. She’d often do cute things with her hair if her outfit is plain.Though, sometimes you’ll find her wearing a simple dress, or colored jeans (like green or light blue) with a flowy top. Bella also wears little to no makeup on a day to day basis.
Hungary: Depends on the day.Elizabeta has two styles. She will either rock a very tomboy look, with ripped jeans, the tank top, boots and hair pulled back into a ponytail (sometimes under a hat like a beanie) with no makeup, just an overall casual look. But, some days Liz will wear a nice dress with her hair down with small accessories in her hair and a little bit of makeup, though she will still keep her boots on.
Liechtenstein: GirlyLily loves to wear very girly clothes. Whether that means a dress, a cute pair of jeans with a pretty top, or anything. She loves looking girly. Not to mention she always has a bow in her hair, or sometimes a flowercrown that Liz made for her. She usually doesn’t wear makeup, as she doesn’t see a good reason behind it, unless there is a special occasion. Her reasoning behind her girly fashion choice is people usually call her a little boy, due to her small chest and body, so she feels more confident wearing clothes that make her feel like a girl.
Monaco: French ChicLucille loves fashion. She’s always up to date on new fashion, hair and makeup trends, even if she doesn’t try them. Most of her clothes is very chic and fashionable. Most of the time she prefers fashion over comfort, and will wear a few extra layers, even if she’s hot, just because that’s part of the outfit. She has long hair that she loves to style with different clips, ribbons, braids, or anything she can try. She usually won’t leave the house without a little bit of makeup, even if it’s concealer and mascara.
Seychelles: Boho chicMichelle loves to wear dresses that are boho chic! They’re flowy, comfortable, they keep her cool and are perfect for the beach! She would hardly wear shoes, since she is usually on the beach and just walks on the sand, but when she did, they’d but cute sandals or flip-flops. She usually has her hair up, whether it’s in a ponytail or pigtails, and would rarely wear makeup, since any beach water would ruin it.
Taiwan: Girly and traditionalXiao Mei is a bit shy when it comes to her appearance, but loves to wear girly yet traditional clothes. She loves to wear qipaos, and has many in different colors, like pink, purple, blue, ect. She will almost always has a flower in her hair, and the flower matches the color of her qipao. She wears very light and soft makeup whenever she goes out in public, nothing about her is ever bold.
Ukraine: Country Rural Katyusha loves to try and dress up, but between all the work she does and the size of her..well..you know..she doesn’t always have many options. She would often find herself wearing clothes that are country rural. Whether it would be a long dress that was comfortable and kept her modest, a pair of jeans and a simple shirt, or her t shirt and overalls. She would love and try to do things with her hair while it was still very long, like braids, but after she decided to cut it, she typically can only use bobby pins or a headband. She sometimes wears simple makeup, or none, it depends on what she’s doing that day.
Vietnam: Conservative and traditionalLien Chung doesn’t like to show off her body or be flashy, and she is seen as very self-conscience and lacks confidence. She usually wears a traditional Áo dài dress, and she has them in a few colors, her favorite being green. Not only are they long and cover her, but they are true to her culture. She does nearly nothing with her hair, usually keeping it in a ponytail, but it is sometimes down. She also never wears makeup, if she does, it is a very special occasion.

Hey Blogbees,
So I am in two minds about writing this blog, as its my journey and I don’t need to explain to anyone…and maybe writing it may come across as ignorant and arrogant but in reality this is how I got to were I am today. And its my diary.
I remember in November a family member was critising a friend of mine for not wearing a hijab after Umrah. I knew then, this was culture talking as wearing your Hijab isn’t ONLY cause you went to Umrah. You choose to wear a Hijab (Scarf over your hair), what your intentions are and what you feel is right for you and your head space. Its more sinful going backwards then not going forwards at all. The sheik from our Umrah suggested to ease into it becoming a better muslim and don’t go full on. Ie wear a hijab, wear an abaya full time (No jeans or leggings anymore), learn all your surah’s by heart, learn tajweed, stop listening to music, stop associating with men. Stop you girly chat with the girls…start preaching and talking about Islam You will crash and you will be resentful, as its not natural progression. So do each step at a time…
So if you choose to wear the hijab and decide going forward I will only wear loose clothing and no longer leggings. BUT then go back to not wearing a hijab and leggings then its more disrespectful to our creator as, it is seen as you are mocking and taking your religion as joke. BUT if you decide your not ready to wear a hijab and you know what your intentions are then its less sinful as you’ve not given an ‘oath’.
In honestly my intentions was not to go to umrah and comeback to wear a hijab. It was to cleanse and repent. At the time I wasn’t ‘ready’ to cover my hair and change my dress sense. That’s how I use to view the Hijab.
I researched the Hijab and what it actually says in the Quran. I started to read my prayers 5x a day…and meant if I showed my hair between prayers (If I didn’t need the toilet) the wudu would go. So wearing the Hijab meant my Wudu would be kept. I read, unfortunately men can’t control their lust and desires, as woman we can try and create a barrier ie the Hijab. I loved big volume Kardashian hair, So I realised that I was sinning cause I was getting the wrong attention from the opposite sex. Cause I was showing off my beauty to the world, men didn’t lower their gaze (as they are told too in the Quran). I started to feel guilty cause of my appearance and cause of my outfit choice men were sinning….my opinion of women wearing the hijab is to conceal your beauty (to Keep for your partner). Wearing the Hijab means to me, is to draw away attention, by wearing a plain scarf to keep your hair hidden from your non mahram (Men you can’t marry ie father, father-in-law, son, nephew, maternal uncle). Not by wearing flamboyant scarfs and fancy designs which draws attention but to conceal/ humble yourself. Hijab means to me, is wearing clothing that looks modest. Ie not figure hugging body-con dresses or see-through skin revealing clothes. It means to me a way covering your beauty, making you more modest and makes you double think your actions. Ie swearing or my wudu would break lol.
Before I even wore the hijab I was practising, more than people around me that wore the hijab. Hijab doesn’t make you more ‘religious’ than someone that doesn’t wear a hijab. By wearing the Hijab doesn’t mean they are a better person than someone that doesn’t wear a hijab. Its all about your intentions and your relation with our creator. Your imaan and you might be a better/kinder person than someone that wears a hijab.
Alhumdulliah I started wearing my Hijab early March, as I felt I was ready. I also stopped threading my brows and to this day I have not touched (Which is incredible for me!!)
“Plucking of women’s eyebrows is not permissible. That’s because the Messenger of Allaah (sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa sallam) cursed the one who does it. It is haraam and is not permitted.” The evidence: 1) Removing or plucking the eyebrows implies changing the creation of Allaah, as Allaah tells us that the Shaytaan said:
“…..and indeed I will order them to change the nature created by Allaah.” [al-Nisa:119]
I am still learning and changing…This is why when I first put on the hijab I never covered my full hair. I’d rather go forward than backwards (as explained above).
Even though I don’t owe anyone an explanation as only my creator can judge me or know my true intentions (Talking to trolls) Some people see my instagram and see I covered my full hair and get shocked when I have my fringe out. But infact my every day-to-day life I dont fully cover my hair. The images that I have fully covered is because of the PR packages I get OR because events I attend and cause of convenience (As wearing a under cap under the hijab my scarf doesn’t slip back as I’m at an event for a long day). I also always show throwback (Which include my hair) because, it is impossible to remove any traces of my old pictures on the internet. I have been blogging for over 7/8 years so all my old content, vlogs and collaborations are public and on platforms I do not own. Second reason is I love memories and have the best old photos. Like suggested in my previous post, I found my imaan because of my past. and cause of that I am proud of my past. so Yes I do show old images but again that’s between me and my lord.
I am not here to preach or judge but explaining my hijab story and why I choose to wear it. For convenience purposes ie Keeping my Wudu, to be a ‘hijab’ to create a barrier from the opposite sex so they may lower their gaze, to humble myself by being modest about beauty and to keep my beauty for my husband only. And to show the world I am a proud ‘practicing’ Muslim woman. This is my journey and alhumduliallah with the strength from Allah SWT I feel this comfort and peace I have never felt in my life.
Disclosure: These options and thoughts are mine. I do apologies if this may offend anyone as that is not my intentions. I am sorry if some of the text might not be accurate but this is my interpretation.
This video really made me think about what the Hijab is: What does the Quran really say about a Muslim woman’s hijab? | Samina Alis https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_J5bDhMP9lQ

Purchasing Online? Tips for a Perfect Fit for Your Stylish Girlie Quartz Watch
Looked with an issue, yes that girlie-design quartz watch looks beautiful. You love it! You can hardly wait to get the charming time piece by means of mail request, and to simply slap it onto your wrist. Maybe you've just made a buy, or you are as yet weighing out your alternatives?
Whichever phase of procurement you are at, there's no getting away from some quite breaking inquiries. You torment yourself, "Once the trendy girlie-design quartz watch shows up... will it?"
Fit on my wrist size? Will it,
Match my face?
Match my tallness, weight?
Match my outfits?
Young lady. These are torrid inquiries to endeavor noting when the elegant time piece is most of the way being transported to you. Still you dread it will just not fit in any case, and that maybe... you are somewhat vulnerable and there's nothing you could have done about it.
All things considered, that probably won't be altogether right... in the event that you have not made buys yet, there are a few test and fit schedules you can perform at home for that hot calfskin lash quartz watch, a long time before you submit your request.
So what should be done before you put in your online request? watches
I would state, pursue the straightforward advances plot beneath, and you are so secured :
Young lady... start by estimating your wrist size.
Truly. It's best you utilize an adaptable tailor's measuring tape. Tie it into a fit, as free as you would like, just underneath your wrist bone, where the tasteful watch will sit.
You don't have a tailor's measuring tape? Alright. Try not to push, you may likewise utilize a piece of paper, simply mark where your wrist closes, at that point measure the paper markings against a ruler.
Your wrist size may be flimsy, slim, medium, or thick. For young ladies, 14-16cm is viewed as dainty. 16-17cm is to some degree medium and standard, while 17cm-18cm or more is a thick wrist.
Most adult young ladies (age up to 28) have wrist estimates in the 16-17 cm run. This is the standard wrist size range for most design astute boho-chic quartz looks also.
Presently, you should verify whether the girlie-style watch you plan to purchase, has lash groups that have a length between 18cm to 27cm. That way, your wrist size is impeccably secured, and you will have the additional band length as solace for a sufficiently decent tying into the clasp.
Presently... we should quantify your stature/weight/body structure.
Do you have a dainty edge? What's more, coordinating dainty wrists? What's more, would you say you are viewed as chic-tall? At that point young lady... wearing a major watch will surely complement your gauntness.
It's sort of, a similar look you'll get on the off chance that you wear larger than average garments. They may accommodate your stature, however despite everything they'll look loose and huge on the off chance that you don't round them out.
Be that as it may, young lady... in case you're tall and have proportionate mass, however simply happen to have unbalanced little mythical being wrists, at that point a watch that matches your edge and isn't an excess of bigger than your wrists alone, would likely be fine.
Also, presently young lady... how about we think about the outfits to wear with the watch.
North America office young ladies have a culture for needing to look solid and self-assured. While European office young ladies will in general like looking somewhat coy.
Young ladies in North America favor dressy quartz watches that might be somewhat bigger on the off chance that measurement (around 40-42mm), while littler case distance across watches are favored in Europe, Australia and Latin America (from 25-38mm).
Hot-chic design watch patterns are likewise accessible for bigger ladies in North American. So a greater size may look more pattern setting for them. While the remainder of the world's young ladies lean toward "dainty" size, great quartz watches.
I would state... it's truly down to inclination. A few young ladies have a modest wrist at 5" but then feel vibes wearing a 33mm case breadth quartz watch, and still feel that it's "the perfect size." And that it's suitable for working environment and dressy occasions.
Presently young lady... now, would you be able to feel free to pick the fitting size for your girlie-style quartz watch?
Actually no, not yet. Despite everything you have to decide the watch's highlights. We should begin with the-:
Case width.
Presently young lady... to discover your conceitedly fitting look on your case distance across, utilize the wrist estimation. watches On the off chance that your wrist is 16cm and beneath, select a little or medium estimated case with a distance across of 25-38mm and underneath. On the off chance that your wrist is 16-18cm, pick a bigger case in the range 38-40mm. In the event that your wrist is above 18cm, you may go for case measurements beginning from 40cm upwards.
Case thickness.
Go on, presently we should take a gander at your quartz watch's case thickness. Here, recall young lady... when in doubt, it comes profoundly suggested that the case profundity ought to be corresponding to the watch's case width.
That implies the greater your in vogue quartz watch's measurement, the thicker the case ought to be. The littler the case distance across, the more slender the case, etc. On the off chance that you adhere to this standard, you'll have the option to pick the best girlie-design quartz watch that has a most complimenting thickness for your adorable wrist.
So here it is... a watch that is 25mm to 38mm in width, ought to have a 6-10mm thickness. A girlie-style watch that is 40mm, ought to have a case distance across from 10mm or more. Be that as it may, contingent upon style, a few watches may really look and feel charming when they have a case distance across of 40mm with a thickness of 8mm.
Lash width.
Young lady, you have to check and make certain about your watch's band width. Ensure that charming watch is a proportional snazzy time piece.
Indeed, your girlie-style watch ought to have a tie width a large portion of the size of the case distance across. Accordingly, if your watch includes a 42mm case, it ought to have a 21mm band width. Obviously, this is only a guide, your general inclination still applies as you need to suit the sort of young lady you are.
Lash material.
Style smart young ladies scarcely pick quartz watches with metal ties. Except if something else, if the watch band is one strong arm jewelery type.
Generally all in all, your quite dressy quartz watch ought to have gentler tie materials and the best decision is go for calfskin ties. You'll discover cowhide ties lighter and sumptuous on your skin. They're likewise fervently chic-shrewd and ladylike.
Keep in mind... you're not James Bond, you are a boho-chic.
Presently to close.
Keep in mind young lady...
In the event that you have a thin wrist.
Attempt to evade girlie-style quartz watches that are too enormous and massive. It will overpower your slender wrist and likely look clumsy. Likewise, recollect... anything enormous will have issues sitting conveniently under a thin shirt sleeve, so stick to little and slim plans.
Regularly, a 38mm watch will offer the ideal fit for young ladies with extremely slight wrists.
Ensure that charming time piece is as dressy as it can ever be.
In the event that you have a medium measured wrist.
It's best you pick a girlie-style quartz watch that has a thin and advanced intrigue without looking excessively dainty. To get this, attempt a timepiece that has a flimsy case and a medium measured distance across.
A plan that is 40mm will be overly charming for your medium measured wrists. Concerning the thickness of the case, guarantee that you keep it at, or underneath 10mm. Anything bigger than 10mm may stand out from your wrist.
Likewise, remember the general structure of the watch when shopping on the web. Thin timepieces, which are perfect for medium estimated wrists, will in general look best with thin wrist trinkets.
In the event that you have thick wrists and a major edge.
A thick wrist requires a bigger watch, however don't escape. Picking your ideal tasteful quartz watch to suit your huge edge doesn't mean simply choosing the greatest one available.
Attempt rather, to offset size with style. You may begin by picking a jazzy girlie-design quartz watch with a 44-46mm case or somewhat bigger. This will guarantee that the watch is proportionate to your wrist and doesn't look or feel too little or enormous.
At that point, when you feel a cheerful fit, you may pick the style that best suits your enjoying.
And furthermore recall... your girlie-style watch ought not feel substantial and look unattractive on your wrist, you need it to be agreeable and splendidly fitting. Not very free, and not delving excessively tight into your skin. Simply immaculate.

Chapter 19 - Night at the Club
Summary: In which I lose control of my AU and everyone turns into hip hop dancers
Marinette sat at Alya’s while her friend busied herself with going through boxes searching for her purple purse. Alya had painted over her eyes with a violet shadow and wore her Lady Wi-Fi shirt with wet look pants, a cardigan and heeled boots.
“Alya you look great as it is, you don’t need the purse,” Marinette said as she tapped her booted foot. “We’re gonna be late.”
“Nino can wait,” Alya shook her head. “It’s his fault most of my stuff is already packed away anyway.”
“How did the talk go?” Marinette asked as she got up and moved to the mirror hanging by the door to fidget with her hair. Alya had braided half her hair back and left the rest hanging in loose waves. Mari wasn’t sure on the asymmetrical style, but a few small bow clips had changed her tone.
“Well, he understood and was actually really happy with us getting a place together. You were right, Mari, we need stuff that’s ours as well as stuff that’s mine and his. He was so happy when we sorted everything out he invited me back to his tonight after his set,” Alya winked and Mari rolled her eyes.
“Please stop there. I don’t need to know details.” The dark haired girl shook her head and studied her clothes again. She wore a pink galaxy top from her second favourite designer brand and blue jeans with black peep toe boots and her cropped denim jacket.
“Finally!” Alya shouted as she dug into another box. She gave a triumphant cry as she lifted the purple purse from the box and grinned at Marinette before opening the purse to put her phone in.
“Hey, is that my Marshmallow matte?” Marinette asked as she pulled the tube from Alya’s hands after she had freed it from the purse. “I can’t believe you made me think I lost it!”
Alya gave a sheepish smile. “I guess that’s my bad,” she chuckled but Marinette shot her a look. “Oh, look, we’re going to be late,” Alya said, hurrying to the door and picking up her keys with her choice of lipstick for the evening.
Marinette shook her head, making her way back to the mirror to apply the liquid colour before picking up her purse and heading out.
“When did you get that?” Alya asked, nodding to the cat purse Marinette had over her shoulder. The girl blushed.
“Oh, I don’t remember,” she lied. She had found it on a trip to get fabric the week before. The black purse was actually from a merch line, but Mari had found it cute and it reminded her of another black cat she knew so she had bargained it down a little in price and bought it from the little boutique on her way home.
“You didn’t make it did you?” Alya asked, raising an eye brow.
“What? Alya, no.”
“Okay, okay, but you gotta admit, it almost looks like Chat Noir fan merch,” Alya winked as they made their way to Alya’s car.
“Oh please, Chat Noir is a show off,” Marinette scoffed as she climbed into the passenger’s seat.
“But he is kinda cute, though, right Mari?” Alya nudged before starting the car. “He kind of reminds me of another green eyed blond you like.”
Marinette felt her cheeks flame. “Alya, are you kidding? They are two completely different people!”
Alya laughed, “relax, girl. It was a joke. Although,” she added after a moment “I haven’t seen them in the same place before.”
“Alya, please, I know Chat and I know Adrien, trust me, they are not the same person,” Marinette sighed. “Just pay attention to the road instead of hurling some more wild theories about their identities.”
“Yeah, well, I’m sure I might find out soon,” Alya frowned.
“What?”
“Look,” Alya shot Marinette a side glance before pay attention to the road again. “Chat Noir asked me not to tell anyone so you have to keep quiet, okay?”
Marinette nodded.
“Volpina and or one of her minions followed Ladybug home one night. They submitted a video of it to the Ladyblog and I didn’t watch it till the end and I deleted it as soon as I told Chat Noir, but they know where she lives.”
Marinette felt her stomach knot and the meal she had shared with her friend an hour earlier threatening to come back up. “Wh-what? Wh-when did this happen?” she stammered.
“I told Chat the day he and Ladybug made the announcement about the competition.”
Three days, Marinette counted back in her head. Three days and Chat hadn’t said a word to Ladybug about how she was in danger. As much as she wanted to, though, Marinette couldn’t be angry with him, after all, Ladybug hadn’t told Adrien he was Volpina’s target because she wanted to protect him and Chat was just protecting Ladybug.
“You can’t tell Ladybug, okay? She can’t know. I mean, she’s already struggling with Volpina and I don’t want her to give up on dancing or being Ladybug. Please, Mari,” Alya pleaded as she pulled into a park. The girl turned to her, her brown eyes wide and pleading.
“I won’t tell her, Alya,” Marinette promised and the brown haired girl sighed in relief before taking her glasses off and putting in her contacts.
“Thanks, Mari. We all are here for you and Ladybug, okay? Even Chat and Adrien.”
“I know, thanks Alya,” Marinette forced a smile before the two climbed out the car and Alya locked it, letting her keys fall into her purse before putting an arm around Marinette’s shoulder.
“Come on, Mari, it’s time to cheer up. You get to see your favourite local dancers compete, and I get to kiss and make up with my boyfriend,” Alya laughed as they made their way to the front of the line in the club. Marinette was less surprised at the line tonight, but still felt a little bad when she and Alya were waved in without question and people complained about special treatment. They put their jackets in the coat room and Marinette resolved to keep her handbag close to her instead of leaving it with her jacket like Alya did once she fished out her phone.
“Mari, Alya!” Nino called over the music as they entered. Things seemed to already be in full swing, despite the early hours of the evening and another DJ was up spinning a mix of pop songs. Alya and Marinette smiled at familiar faces as they made their way to DJ Bubbler who had chosen face paint instead of his mask, but wore his typical DJ outfit with the eye-like symbol on his top.
“Hey Nino, how are you?” Marinette asked as Alya kissed his cheek in greeting.
“I’m good thanks. Kinda nervous though,” he confessed.
“Oh come on, Nino, you practically arrange the songs every week!”
“Yeah, but I’ve never had to spin them. There’s a lot of pressure not to mess up,” he added as he turned to the bartender and gestured for a drink.
“Babe, you’ll do great, I know you will,” Alya encouraged and Nino gave a small smile before downing his shot.
“Whoa Nino, take it easy on those,” a familiar voice echoed and Marinette turned to see a blond boy with a black mask sauntering up to them.
“Chat?” Marinette blinked. When he said he was going to be there, she hadn’t imagined he would be there as Chat Noir.
“Hello, Princess,” he grinned at her. “Lady Wi-Fi, DJ Bubbler,” he added with a courteous nod. Alya shot Marinette a look at Chat’s nickname for her but returned his greeting with the same exuberance as ever.
“Hey Chat. Where’s Ladybug?”
“Oh, I heard she would be here tonight but without the mask, so I actually don’t know,” he added with a chuckle before ordering a drink.
“Here man, let me put that on the house,” Nino said, turning and chatting with the bartender as she prepared the drink order.
“Did you know he’d be here?” Alya asked, moving to Marinette and the girl shook her head. “Did you hear what he said though? Ladybug is here! As herself! This is so amazing,” Alya bounced on her toes and Marinette rolled her eyes.
“So what? Lots of people are here; you probably wouldn’t even recognise her if you saw her.”
“That’s similar to what she said,” Chat said as his ears perked up in the conversation and Marinette wondered not for the first time, if he really could be part cat.
“Well, yeah, there will be hundreds of people here tonight,” Marinette added, trying not to seem caught off guard. “The Dance-off nights here are pretty big.”
“Marinette is right, dude,” Nino said as he handed Chat his drink and took a sip from his own. “Not to brag, but ever since my brother started the club, Dance-off nights are the highest paying nights of the month.”
“So, what? Once a month people come to dance against each other?” Chat asked, his eyes almost lighting up and Marinette smiled at him even though his attention was focused on Nino.
“Yeah man. People get dressed up and everything, you and Ladybug would fit in quite well if you weren’t ballroom nerds,” Nino added with a chuckle.
“Oh, I think we all saw Ladybug’s video. She can do anything,” the cat boy nodded. “And I like to think I can hold my own.”
“Keep your claws in kitty cat,” Marinette laughed. “Just wait until you see what these guys can do.”
~~~~~~
Adrien smiled at Marinette before she turned her attention back to Alya who was talking about something she had seen across the floor. She really looked quite pretty with the style she had chosen. Her clothes were modest and girly, but her hair and the way she carried herself were almost warning people not to mess with her. It reminded him a little of Ladybug sometimes and he scanned the dancing crowd again, looking for familiar moves, or the dark hair he had seen so many times.
“Oh, hey Chat, did you see Mari’s new bag,” Alya said, and Adrien looked to where Alya was turning Marinette to the opposite side so he could see the little black bag shaped like a cat’s head. He tried not to let it go to his head, but he felt his cheeks turn a little pink.
“Well that is just purr-fection, Princess. Were you thinking of me when you bought it?” he asked, leaning forward with a smile.
“Oh please, alley-cat, I bought it because it’s anime merch,” Marinette retorted without missing a beat, pointing to the crescent moon on the bag.
“And now, clear the stage as we prepare for our monthly Dance-Off!” The DJ called into the mic as they changed the music.
“That’s my cue to get moving, guys,” Nino said as he finished his drink. “Wish me luck.”
“Nino, you don’t need it, you got this,” Marinette smiled and Alya kissed her boyfriend.
“I have no doubt you’ll be great, man,” Adrien said with a smile and a fist bump before the boy disappeared, Alya right behind him. “So, should we go find a good spot to watch?” he asked Marinette.
“Yeah, but you might want to finish that first,” the girl gestured to his drink.
He gave a curious look, but finished it anyway, placing the empty glass on the bar and turning back to Marinette. She gestured for him to follow her to the centre of the floor where a crowd was forming around a risen platform lit up white with a thin layer of fog above it.
“Whoa.”
“This is nothing,” she told him as they made their way to the front. “Wait until you see them dance.”
The lights flickering around the floor bounced off her eyes and Adrien was mesmerised for a moment before his attention was caught by a tiny pink ladybug on her ear.
“They are pretty,” he said pointing to her ear and the girl blushed.
“Th-thank you. Ladybug bought them and, um, gave them to me,” Marinette finished with a small nod, as she always seemed to do. A new song began through the speakers, making conversation pretty difficult, but there really was nothing else to say as a line of dancers made their way up to the floor and began moving together in what could only have been a well-choreographed routine.
The dancers lined the edges of the square floor and one by one took their place in the centre for a few seconds as DJ Bubbler introduced them.
“Welcome... Timebreaker!” Nino’s voice echoed as the first dancer pulled a few moves. She wore roller skates and had her pink hair slicked back. Red paint was over her eyes as she did a twirl and few other moves before taking her spot back on the edge.
“She looks familiar,” Adrien said in Marinette’s ear and she nodded.
“Most of the dancers are from campus. Timebreaker got her name because she is always trying to beat her opponents faster than they gained victory before.”
“Princess Fragrance!” Nino’s voice called and a girl from another edge of the square appeared in a black jumpsuit with green ribbons wrapped around her arms and her hair pulled into a bun which had been sprayed pink. As she danced, Marinette explained who she was.
“That’s Rose’s sister. Rose is definitely more ballroom but her sister can really kill it out here. She’ll only dance to one musician though.”
“Jackady!” a man stepped forward in an unusual suit, half the jacket was lavender and the other half lime green. His pants were opposite colours and his hat had three playing cards in it and the man seemed to swing a spiral disc around him as he moved.
“Jackady likes to claim he can hypnotise his opponents into submission but he rarely gets far each night.”
On it went, Darkblade – a fencing champion who was obsessed with medieval times and danced with a fake suit of armour on; Dark Cupid – a boy that was a heartbreaker amongst club girls and claimed it was due to the ‘one that got away’; Horrificator – a girl who dressed up as a different horror movie villain each month; Stone Heart – a boy who rarely shoed emotion; Reflekta – a girl who copied her opponents dance styles, and so many more, Adrien was sure he would never remember all their names. He was grateful for Marinette’s commentary though. By the time the song was almost done, there was one last dancer to be announced.
“Lady Wi-Fi!”
“Alya?” Adrien asked shocked.
“Yeah. Ballroom was never her thing and once she and Nino hit the right age to legally be here, nothing stopped her from this.” Lady Wi-Fi stepped back to her spot and all the dancers moved in time again with their choreographed moves for a few beats before Nino’s voice came back.
“Welcome to tonight’s Dance-Off everybody!” Nino called, drawing everyone’s attention up to him in the DJ booth. “I’m DJ Bubbler and tonight we’ve got some killer dancers ready to slay and battle their way up to number one! Winners will be decided by the crowd, that’s you! Now give it up for our dancers!” The crowd cheered as the dancers continued moving together.
“And now it’s time to battle!” DJ Bubbler called as the last notes echoed through the speakers. The dancers stepped off the platform and disappeared into the crowd, Alya shooting Adrien and Marinette a wink as she slid up beside them.
“First up for tonight is Princess Fragrance and Lady Wi-Fi!” Nino called and Marinette patted Alya on the back, calling good luck over the cheers of everyone around them.
Everything fell silent and the lights went down as the two dancers took the stage. When the music started up again, lights flashed and the stage lit up with it, the layer of fog back, making the dancers moves even more hypnotic. Alya began dancing first, her style was more house than anything else and yet she managed to fit it to the beat of the mash-up perfectly. After a few moves, Princess Fragrance broke in, her moves a combination of contemporary and hip-hop. The two continued like that, dancing to their allocated part of the song and dancing together when the two songs mixed.
It wasn’t what Adrien had been expecting, but he couldn’t deny he was impressed with the two girls and the way Nino had flawlessly mixed the tracks. The dance went on, each dancer dancing their heart out, it was obvious they were giving it all despite it being the first dance of the evening.
Princess Fragrance finished the song with her pose and the audience cheered.
“Who won that one? Was it Princess Fragrance and her affinity for a bit of Melanie Martinez?” Nino called down and the crowd cheered.
“Or was it Lady Wi-Fi and her house style?” Marinette and Chat Noir cheered loudly with the crowd this time, and Nino signalled that Alya had won by the louder cheers.
“Next we have Vanisher versus Stoneheart!”
Alya climbed down from the platform and grinned at Marinette, sweat glistening in the lights.
“Wow, you were amazing,” Adrien said with a smile once she and Marinette exchanged awkward hugs.
“Thanks Chat. You still think you could hold your own up there?” she asked and Adrien grinned.
“Come on, Lady Wi-Fi, I think I could, especially if Ladybug were here with her mask, keen to show everyone what we’ve got.”
“Well, I’m afraid they don’t do doubles, kitty-cat,” Alya winked before disappearing to get a drink. Adrien turned his attention to the new dance battle that was beginning, trying not to ponder on how Alya calling him kitty-cat sat uncomfortably in him.
The battle went by quickly, Vanisher disappearing into the crowd whenever her opponent had to dance and reappearing somewhere new when her turn began. Vanisher lost but it was hard to tell if Stone Heart was pleased about winning, his features neutral as they had been the entire battle.
The next battle was Timebreaker and Reflekta, who had somehow managed to find and put on skates to match her opponents style, but due to her slight inexperience, Timebreaker won before the battle even hit the half way point.
Guitar Villain and Jackady hit the stage next, but Adrien didn’t get the chance to see them as he was pulled through the crowd by Alya who gestured for him to be quiet as she led him to the back room they had taken Ladybug to a few nights ago.
“Alya, is everything okay?” he asked.
“Chat, I need to tell you something, okay?” she seemed to be wrestling with something and Adrien knew he his disappointment at not seeing the air guitarist against the acclaimed hypnotist was trivial.
“Alya, what’s up?”
“I don’t know how you are going to take this, but I was to make it clear, I am Marinette’s friend first and your friend after,” Alya said carefully.
“Okay,” Adrien replied slowly, unsure of where this was going.
“Marinette likes someone, okay? And you flirting with her could really confuse and hurt her, especially since I know how much you like Ladybug-”
“I don’t flirt with Marinette,” Adrien cut her off. “I do like Ladybug. Mari… Marinette is just a friend, Alya,” he added hurriedly and the girl blinked in surprise.
“She is?”
“Of course. I like Ladybug and Marinette knows I do. I don’t flirt with Marinette,” he added, crossing his arms across his chest and Alya raised an eye brow.
“Dude, come on, you flirt with her just a little,” she said as she put her hands on her hips.
“Wha-what? I do not!”
“Chat Noir,” Alya said warningly. “Just be careful, okay? I don’t want Marinette to get hurt.”
“I swear Alya, Marinette is a good friend and I don’t want her to get hurt either,” Adrien said solemnly. After a moment of staring Alya nodded at him before gesturing for them to head back out.
“I’ve got to get ready for finals,” she grinned.
changing my style?
Recently I had been hesitating between the classy and elegant style and the style I call “dope” which is actually the casual style mixed with some rap lol.
It all started back when I first went to the States and met the first black people in my life.I like their style like the one rappers have.It’s cool and dope and you know looks kinda hot too.There was some period in my life when I had a classy style and I tried to look girly the whole time.But these last 3-4 months I realized my style was the dope one.
So,I now am trying to build a dope wardrobe and look cool.I also don’t wanna go deep into looking like a boy so I try to keep some feminine things on me.I now wanna go into details.
First of all,I wanna say that my style icon would be Bryson Tiller.Even though he’s a guy and shouldn’t really be a style icon I still try to copy some things from him.To me,he’s a perfect example not only the way he looks but also the person he is.So,I’ve realized that the main colors in my wardrobe should be black,white,gray,army green and navy blue.I do my manicure either in very light shades or completely black:there’s no colorful nails and stuff.I do wear makeup that doesn’t look like I have makeup on.I only do foundation and mascara.Sometimes I highlight my eyebrows and wear a lipstick that doesn’t really show it’s there.I have a gum almost always but I try not to cause I chew really badly lol.I have a small black bag that’s comfortable to use.I can even use it with a classy style so it’s I think a must.I usually wear jeans.I have a lot of skinny jeans and one that’s not very skinny.I do have a metal watch from Claire’s.Usually I wear shoes that I can wear with a classy outfit too.I recently cut bangs.My front is pretty wide so bangs look really good on me.I try to not walk boyly lol.
Now about the character that I wanna build during the next 3-4 years while I’m in college.Like I said I take my example from Tiller.He’s really humble and modest and works hard.That’s what I try to do.I try to stay very private and not tell a lot of people about most of the things that happen to me.Even my closest friends or family.There are many nights are cry because I miss America so much and there are times I feel really sad but I never show those things and pretty much no one realized that.I also like to keep my achievements private.Like I got 50% discount on my tuition this semester and I didn’t really tell a lot of people about that.I don’t let a lot of people to be close with me but I try to be friends with everyone and I’m careful with boys.I’m a proud person but not someone who’s very selfish though that’s what many people think.But Idc.
8 Summer Outfit Ideas for Conservative Girls
Tumblr media
Summer is an exciting time for fashionable women who want to show off their wardrobe while letting their skin absorb all that sun. While this season is usually associated with swimsuits, shorter skirts, and cropped tops, it’s not at all a necessity. Take your cue from Somali-American supermodel Halima Aden, who received a lot of praise as the first Muslim model to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated in a “burkini” — a sign that people are definitely embracing all kinds of self-expression, cultures, and styles. Here, we list some of the best summer outfit ideas for modest girls who want to look cute but stay covered up.
A full-length maxi skirt covers below your knees, and helps keep you cool, looking amazing at the same time. It’s one of the hottest picks this summer for women who want to look modest and chic. It’s also something that can instantly elevate an outfit, adding a nice touch of elegance.
In place of a warm jacket, you can use a button up shirt to provide coverage over a tank top. It’s a classic outfit that’ll feel and look comfortable. The range of breathable button-ups on J.Crew are perfect for the summer, but work just as well for when you need something a notch higher than casual wear.
Little white dress
You really can’t go wrong with a basic white dress during the summer. Fortunately, it has become such a staple that you can find a ton of different styles available. You can go down the dainty path and try lace, or look like a tropical princess in linen. Pair with a few accessories, strappy sandals, and you’re all set.
Scarf as an accessory
Nope, they’re not just for winter. Scarves are versatile and can add a dash of femininity to any ensemble. Depending on the color and design, a scarf can be a subtle addition or the center-piece of your entire outfit. Pick one with a unique pattern or a bright, summery color to liven up the most basic of clothes. Bonus: scarves are great for protection from the heat too.
Leggings and a sweatshirt
On a previous post on Outfit Trends, we posted a list of modest gym outfits, like pairing leggings with a cute sports shirt, or a hoodie and loose jogging pants. Thankfully, the athleisure trend is still very much in full swing, which means you’re free to wear your activewear out during the summer too. It’s effortless and the level of comfort is hard to beat.
While normally a staple during springtime, there’s no reason you can’t keep using your flow-y, flower-filled dresses all through summer. The variety of dresses on Woman Within feature a great selection of floral pieces. Since the designs pretty much speak for themselves, they require little to no styling on your end. Nonetheless, you’re sure to deliver a dose of freshness wherever you go.
If you’re feeling especially daring, you can join in on the season’s most popular garment: the leopard midi skirt. This particular trend has garnered such a cult following that lifestyle writer Samantha Sutton reports that it has its own Instagram account with the username “@leopardmidiskirt.” It’s one statement piece that can make any outfit.
A jumpsuit is still a classic, easy, and breathable choice for ladies who don’t mind the tricky bathroom trips. Because it is already a head-turner in its own right, sticking to neutral shades gives you a dash contemporary flair and sophistication despite the temperature.
She couldn't have been older than 22, and was crying to herself. Figuring that she was an orphan with nowhere to go, the group, after discussion and argument, decided to adopt her and bring her back to Mystacine.
When introduced to aspen, she silently shook his hand, Aspen feeling uneasy as he looked upon her cold expressionless scrap mask.
At the exam to test her abilities, the test started: she ripped apart the most advanced practice dummies without taking a single hit, absolutely dumbfounding Aspen and the other judges. After performing all of the other tests above and beyond flawless, she was granted the highest level of mercenary available: the black ribbon. Only a select few mercenaries are even considered for the honor, and even fewer get it. Once word spread of this accomplishment, discussions arose of whether she was even a normal kegawen. Many different emotions arose about her, of fear, jealousy , and scorn.
Some began to bully her, until after five minutes of teasing when she lashed out, slashing his face up with claws and nearly killing the poor bastard. Since that day, extra attention was placed on her by surveillance, and people started to take caution around her.
