All the lore indicates it's a normal (albeit magic and human-sized) fungus, covered in holes that appear to be around 1.3 to 4 in (35-100 mm) in diameter. Is using a tree or vegetable wrong? It's definitely not against the rules of the competition, basically the inverse of a cucumber.
There used to be an indicator for "alive but mindless" things like normal plants, and the shrieker WAS in it, but the category all got swept into 1 Int this edition for mechanical purposes in 5e. Yes, it "screams" for a couple seconds as a response to motion or a change in light. Fun fact, many normal IRL plants and fungi do that too, they just release chemicals or spores instead of compressing thier cap to whistle through pores. Many normal plants also move or compress parts of themselves as a response to stimuli. So outside its latent magical properties for making potions of plant control, everything indicates it's just a normal mushroom. So would you fuck a shroom full of holes, most of which appear to be the average diameter of a dick for some reason?

TW: BODY DYSMORPHIA / CURSED EYES / TRYPOPHOBIA
Tumblr media
Last warning: this drawing may contain sensitive images for some people!
👇
👇
Tumblr media
I think.. this was one of the most satisfying drawings I've ever done fr 😭🙏
But after all, what is body dysmorphia?
It is a mental illness that involves an obsessive focus on a bodily characteristic, sometimes imagined, that the person considers to be a serious defect in their own appearance.
Just like Sawyer, I imagine that because of various traumas from his past, he has adopted this disease into his own body, feeling disgusted with himself.
ok I'm done
Also included a quote from the song "VOID" by Melanie Martinez, I thought it would match :3

I'm always very thankful for the trigger warnings, specially how you went out of the way to warn for trypophobia, and I gotta say. "A character is going to be holding some eyeballs". Top tier best TW of all times. Everyone pack up and go home.
Tumblr media
Thank youuuuu!!! Yes I spent several minutes trying to think of the appropriate TW before realising that just describing it was the most efficient option 😅
And yes!! One thing I really want to explore in RTR (but it often gets sidelined by the romance) is the psychological effect it would have on people, to actually know their fates and know they cannot be changed. Rose and Orchid and Ishki are all driven to extremes in their desperation to alter a prophecy. Hyacinth and... Other characters (👀) are prepared to take incredible risks because of the assurance their fates give them that it won't kill them. The way predatory characters can use the fate-knowledge to their profit like Hashel, (who we'll see more of later) and Grandpa Foxglove. I think there's a lot of psychological impact in knowing what shape your life would have from childhood, and particularly how you'll die, and I hope that's coming across in the comic!

hi ppl who use trigger tags for phobias i love u
unfortunately tumblr's tag blocking system kind of sucks so it only hides the post if it's exact word/phrase you blocked
so like say u have trypophobia blocked
posts tagged as trypophobia will be hidden
however
posts tagged as trypophobia tw, tw trypophobia, tw: trypophobia, trypophobia cw, trypophobia warning, etc etc will still show up
i have sooo many variations of my phobia blocked and am still adding more just bc there are so many different ways to trigger tag
and it sucks bc it's really nice that ppl trigger tag i just don't think it's common knowledge how specfic u have to be for tag blocking
so i guess here this is my attempt to make this more common knowledge lol

If you’ve got the time, I was wondering if you’d be able to share any final-girl-esque book recommendations! I just finished My Heart is A Chainsaw and You’re Not Supposed to Die Tonight, and they’ve got me on a bit of a kick. Love your blog and your book roundups! ♥️
my dude, i always have time for final girls! unfortunately, you named two of my faves, but let's goooo! this is an interesting conundrum for me because i love final girls SO MUCH that my bar is super high and only a few of them reach it haha. to those of you who haven't read the above mentioned, those are two of the best! my favorites tend to be ones with a unique or interesting take on the trope, but i'll try to recommend a variety. general slasher-related trigger warnings for all, but i'll try to add specific ones that i remember:
if you liked my heart is a chainsaw, check out the only good indians. it may not sound like there is a final girl, but one appears and i love her. even if you didn't like chainsaw, try this one. i think it's more accessible, though still that sgj weirdness. this one is about four indigenous men who are haunted by a strange deer woman. tw for animal death and body horror.
this is not my personal favorite, but clown in a cornfield is super popular. there is a clown and there are teens and there is a cornfield. murrrrrder occurs.
there are another couple of popular ones that i didn't totally love: the final girl support group by grady hendrix and final girls by riley sager. both feature now-adult final girls who are friends with other now-adult final girls, and murders occur.
no exit by taylor adams is not exactly a slasher, but the protagonist gives me some of the same vibes. note: the synopsis makes this sound like a mystery, but it's not. it's really more of a what would you do thriller! a young woman is stranded with a group of strangers during a snowstorm at a rest stop. she discovers a kidnapped child in one of their cars.
also not a slasher, but the honeys features a genderfluid protagonist and bee-based body horror. weird horror at a summer camp. tw for bees and body horror, probably trypophobia i think.
the night shift is about some similar murders in a small town fifteen years apart- a group of teen girls are murdered with only one survivor.
the shining girls is a cool take on the trope. a serial killer with the ability to travel through time kills particular girls to further his immortality, and one of them survives and tries to take him down. this is also a show now i think but i haven't watched it!
UPCOMING FINAL GIRLS
i'm so excited for there's no way i'd die first is a slasher coming out in september! it looks like a pretty classic clown slasher with a horror loving protagonist.
gorgeous gruesome faces may or may not be a final girl based on the description- could be ghosts or a slasher. maybe both?? but "queer kpop horror" sold me immediately.
burn the negative features one of my favorite tropes in fiction, which is like... fictional pop culture? the protagonist is a former child actress who starred in an infamous horror film in which many of the crew/cast died. when a remake begins, she has to stop more deaths.
i can't tell if the lake house is a final girl story or not... i'll investigate.

The following post is non-human brain weirdness. I am writing from the perspective of a homesick alien and this information is important to know to understand this post completely.
I feel like I don't talk enough about the shame I feel as someone who makes art that a lot of people would want to slap TWs on. I'm not arguing against TWs, I'm just really upset I live in a world where the things that are normal and comfortable to me horrify most people in a way that I'm so numb to. And I'm not talking about "I don't care" numb, I'm talking about "I'm so far away from knowing that this could hurt someone" numb.
Like, imagine a world where you can't show something you made without asking a lot of questions that make you look hella insecure. Because the one time you gave up and finally didn't give a fuck and just show stuff you made, you are instantly apologizing for harming someone with what you brought into this world.
And you do this over and over.
Constantly apologizing in advance and after the fact about something you illustrated that is very real to you.
Imagine you go to another planet and you paint a tree. Little do you know, on this planet, there is a horrible illness where the main symptom is becoming covered in something that looks like leaves.
Suddenly everyone thinks this painting of your home planet is disgusting, triggering, and everyone is saying mean things like "how dare you not censor this weird shit you sicko!" And "that's where you come from?? It makes my skin itch!!" "I know you like that texture but eeeyuughghsjhj"
This isn't wah waah wah I'm worried about people hating my gore art because it's super edgy special to me. I'm saying wah waah waaah why is my favorite texture cursed to be the one that everyone thinks is horrifying?! Why am I comforted by and enjoy creating things I must constantly apologize about?
Yes. It's trypophobia. Lots of little holes are as normal, lovely and unimportant to me as leaves in a nature painting. The texture is pleasing to sculpt and touch. It looks like the calcium growths in my astral home place. It's normal to me. I like seeing it. I like touching it. I like sculpting it.
What's worse is that it's not like anyone can control their aversion to it. I get it. I get it. You don't have to tell me what it does to you. I've been told. Over and over. That's where the shame comes from. The only word to describe the texture I find most familiar is a phobia of it. I genuinely feel alone and isolated by this.
If you like clusters of small holes, you are a freak. There is no trypophilia, there are no mood boards, you will not find it in a calming place because you are an outlier you sicko. That's what I've learned.
This is not about online spaces where warnings are easy to apply. This is about public spaces, and being invited as an artist to share something you made and then having to not show anything because you're too obscene for most people, and not in the fun sexy way either. I cannot say how many times I've said "I need to give you some content warnings first-" and been cut off with "oh shut up! I love porn!" "It's trypophobia" "oh ew sorry no"

welcome - intro post
Tumblr media
im nat. this is where i'll post about my art and ocs. i've been on tumblr for years now, but the new side blog is a result of the great meta ai dumpster fire.
i focus mainly on black and white art, however i will also post colored things. i have a wide variety of interests, but i'm bad at color theory, so i just embrace the black and white :p
my art, ocs, and stories will usually revolve around sci-fi and low horror. there will be some classic fantasy and dnd-esk stuff thrown in there, too. i'm a huge fan of the uncanny valley, specifically with embracing and loving and enjoying it. uncanny but kind :]
i'm currently studying english and biological anthropology in university right now. i enjoy learning about analytical thinking and how our minds evolved! i am also trying to dabble more in philosophy, although i am a little intimidated to get into the more modern things.
i love dnd and dnd things! i also enjoy hiking, caving, camping, bone hunting, antiquing, and talking to my buddies. i collect typewriters, labradorite, and old books.
i play bg3 and skyrim a ton ;]
my dms and asks are ALWAYS open. PLEASE tell me about your ocs :] i love hearing about them. just open a dm with me and start info dumping i will eat it up.
content warnings
Tumblr media
i utilize small, repetitive shapes often and enjoy messy, cluttered layouts/compositions that are meant to confuse or disorient someone. Many of my illustrations will include bones and organs in a medical or educational context, and themes of depersonalization, disassociation, and unreality may pop up. These will all be tagged to my best ability. A list of the tags I use are below. I will use general tw/cw tags, as well as ones specific to my blog, just so that those who want to cover all their bases may do so.
not all of my work will include these things, i also will post a ton of stupid little oc doodles.

DNI/BYF
Tumblr media
by default, i have no real DNI or BYF. however, i will block those whose content makes me uncomfortable (and not in the neat "reflect on society" way). i enjoy dark themes and don't always endorse the things i portray. i also think people should think critically about what they consume, why they consume it, and who is being impacted and how by the creation and consumption of media. i tend to ignore or block those who i don't feel abide by the previously stated standards.
discourse won't be tolerated here! i don't take blocking personally.

i thought this was like Out in the World 101.
The way filtering works is by using the words in a post or tags on a post. Same reason why saying “TW!!!” is not helpful if you don’t specify what the warning is for.
like yes, i have triggers but YOU DONT KNOW THEM. you can’t possibly know them, stranger on the internet. and even if you think you do, you don’t know what i can and can’t deal with seeing on any given day, and even i might not know until i read the warning.
but if you say “Trigger warning” with no elaboration, that’s not helpful in the slightest.
What if you’re warning for X but i assume it’s Y and then am very wrong and triggered.
Yes, for some people, even seeing the words can be hard, but it’s more harmful to give a warning without any sort of elaboration or context because that will cause people to do one of two things:
Refuse to find out and scroll away or
Not know what they’re in for so they continue, only to be severely caught off guard or triggered by the content because the trigger warning was too general
That’s one thing i’ve never understand about tiktok especially. ppl will flash a trigger warning on a video for 0.1 seconds OR, even worse imo, put it in the caption or tags and not anywhere else. and then when someone gets triggered, they respond with “well that’s not my fault. you didn’t pay attention to the trigger warning”
Trigger warnings need to be seen and understood to be effective.
this means listing the potential triggering topics and making the trigger warning as visible as possible.
i would rather see a “trigger warning: physical and emotional abuse, sexual assault, self harm, flashing lights, trypophobia, misophonia, discussion of [insert topic]” etc. than have to decide between ignoring a potentially informative piece of content or being willing to be triggered by something unexpected.
anyways i just found this in my drafts and decided it deserved to see the light of day because i went off on an entirely unrelated note from the original post
I just saw a story on AO3 tagged "pet p!ay"
TIK TOK MUST BE STOPPED BEFORE IT DESTROYS LANGUAGE

Here are the tags I use. If you need anything additional added, feel free to let me know!
General Tags
#animal abuse: This is for anything that contains graphic visual depictions or written descriptions of animals being abused. I will also tag graphic text descriptions of animals being abused with this as well.
#animal death: This is for anything that contains graphic visual depictions or written descriptions of animals who are dead or dying.
#ask to tag: This is for posts that give me the "I should be tagging this with some sort of trigger warning" vibe, but I can't for the life of me figure out what. So if you know, please tell me.
#body horror: This is primarily for image-based body horror, but if something gets really, REALLY gruesome in my writing, it might merit this too.
#flashing: This is for posts that have GIFs or videos with flashing effects that I think have even a slight chance of causing some people to have a seizure (or a headache, if that's what it does for you).
#OOC: This is for posts out of character.
#spiders: This is for spiders. Not usually going to tag pics of Angeldust on this though.
#trypophobia tw: This is for images that contain a repetitive pattern of small holes. The "tw" is short for "trigger warning," which I added to indicate that this is a tag meant to specifically caution people with this phobia about viewing the image(s) in the post.
#undescribed: This is for posts with one or more images that do not have alt text or an image description. I will certainly add one or both for all images in content I personally create, and I will try to add image descriptions to posts I reblog when I can. However, for the latter, I sometimes just don't have the energy for it. For this reason, I tag such posts so that those who cannot fully enjoy the post without an image description and/or alt text can filter it out of their dash if they so choose.
Verse Tags
v; The Burgeoning Scholar: Anything that takes place prior to the intital attack of Calamity Ganon.
v; Do You Remember Me?: Anything that takes place after the events of Breath of the Wild but before the events of Tears of the Kingdom.
v; I Am Home: Anything that takes place after the events of Tears of the Kingdom
v; A New Ending: Anything that takes place in the alternative timeline created in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, after said events of the game. This is a verse that directly diverges from The Burgeoning Scholar, because Link never dies here.

Hey can I please convince you to tag your stuff with things like the “IM GOING TO KILL MYSELF just kidding good morning” with something in the future? Tumblr’s filtering doesn’t work with images and both you and your blog seem really cool so I don’t want to unfollow about like six posts. You don’t have to edit the ones you already have or anything either, I’m going to bed pretty much immediately after this and by the time I wake up I’d have to try and find them anyways, just if you think of it in the future.
Anyways, have a good day over there, and, considering how well that joke seems to have landed for you, I hope you’re doing alright
Also, tangentially related, I noticed you tagged one of my reblogs earlier with a tw for bugs, do you want me to tag those?
i could try. if it persists please just block me. my blog is not worth the cost of your mental health.
i dont really care about trigger warnings for things unless its like trypophobia, so i wouldnt get anxious about it.

#body horror: This is primarily for image-based body horror, but if something gets really, REALLY gruesome in my writing, it might merit this too.
#dubcon: This is for sexual acts that lack full and enthusiastic consent. In real life, a sexual act with anything less than full, enthusiastic consent from all parties is not consensual, full stop. However, in the world of fiction, this can sometimes have a slightly different connotation. The distinction between "non-consent" (noncon) and "dubious consent" (dubcon) is largely arbitrary, but usually it involves the party not fully consenting still being kinda into it, or sort of up for it. If you want more details on this, feel free to message me.
#flashing: This is for posts that have GIFs or videos with flashing effects that I think have even a slight chance of causing some people to have a seizure (or a headache, if that's what it does for you).
#gore: This is for posts with heavy mention of gore or an image that visually depicts it.
#incest: This is for anything to do with overt mentions of incest (though some incidential indirect mentions I might have to leave be, otherwise talking about the greek gods is gonna get tricky.
#noncon: This is for nonconsensual sexual acts that do not fit under the dubcon tag mentioned earlier in this list. This will usually include more aggressive and/or violent sorts of non-consensual acts. Again, it's a lack of consent either way, so if you just want none of that on your dash, please blacklist both tags.

Character Tags
I'm going to tag each IC post, be it roleplay or ask, with "#IC: [CHARACTER NAME]" for the time being. So, for example, if I make a in-character post with Bill Cipher, I'm tagging that #IC: Bill Cipher.

A half update,
So I am thinking of looking up possibly all important TWs that are super important for others just in case I accidentally scare off someone. Mainly talking about the trypophobia warning for Tubbo's aka Toby's design that someone alerted me on, thank you very much because it did not even cross my mind while designing it, even my friend's didn't say anything about it so that was a slip up on my part. My deepest apologies for those that got uncomfortable.
So yes, when I will be designing, will try to see if something could be considered triggering or uncomfortable, maybe even something like defense wounds on arms and all that. The story itself is triggering by itself due to what I got planned really, you guys saw some of it in the try chapters.
Oh boy this will take me a bit for sure with the story but will try my best to alert y'all of anything triggering or uncomfortable in the future posts!
Time to look up more TW that I haven't heard of or forgot.
