Much to his surprise, you get pretty flustered when he asks, dodging his question with a small laugh. Well, now he needs to know-

His investigation always fails...Until the day you let him hang out at your house. He discovers it rather quickly

"Hey, babe? Do you have-" He walked into your room, finding you clinging onto a plushie like a lifeline. "...Oh."

He grins, stepping closer and looking at the plushie in your hands. He takes a picture to tease you about it, but a part of him can't stop thinking about how cute you look <3

Toya:

Toya might get flustered by you clinging onto him, but he finds that it's really nice actually...You always make him feel so warm

He asks you out of pure curiosity, not wanting you to stop persay, more wanting to know just in case he's ever not there for you to cling onto

He figures it out when you invite him to hang out, and he's ecstatic

"My favorite co-star! Are you?-" He cut himself off when he saw you clinging onto a plushie, and his eyes widened before sparkling at the sight. "Aha!"

I've been thinking about the little blue cat toxic ruikasa au that you made and oh my god it hasn't left my head ever since I've first seen it. I always loved Tsukasa’s design and now that I learned that it's toxic? I'm so crazy for it.

tsukasa usually just makes himself visible to rui, but he has the ability to make himself appear to others. he probably only appears solid to rui (because of their connection), so if he were to appear to others, he would be sort-of see-through.

he's always so flattered whenever someone stops him in the street to ask for a pic or when he sees posts online gushing about him

this is extra funny bc he never talks about his friends like they're famous so all of his teammates don't really know that shibayama is friends with all these other famous people

and then one of them, an avid kodzuken fan, spams their group chat when kodzuken's newest video is released and shibayama shows up in it

he patted your head as you both entered the arcade, ready to play as much games as you both could. but, toya being the toya he is, he planned this whole thing from top to bottom. stating that he'd first play a couple of games with you, and stop to take a break, then play more games, buy you the most expensive prize, and give it to you before you leave while confessing. with proud smiles, you both went around the arcade, playing games that you both thought was fun, practically draining each game from their tickets! after an hour or so has passed, he suggested on taking a break, on which you agreed to. he looked at the prize booth and realized that he had enough tickets to buy a certain prize he thought you'd like. excusing himself from you, he secretly bought the pair of headphones, that were your favorite color. after he bought it, he hid it in his bag and came back to you. both of you excited, you both continued playing more games until you both had to go. right as you were out the door, he followed after you, patting your shoulder. you turned around, and asked what the matter was, until he brought something out of his bag.

with a blushing face, you thanked him endlessly and hugged him. he patted your back and smiled. suddenly, he said, "i like you a lot, y/n. would you like to my s/o?" with a shy, yet certain smile. you were shocked, but nodded eagerly. maybe this weekend wasn't gonna be so bad after all.

with a smile, you watched the play. the play was about a boy who fell in love with a friend, but the boy was unsure if his friend liked him aswell. the plot, was relatable to the situation you were in, so you watched, with a fascinated expression planted on your face. you thought, that maybe this play would give you advice on how you could someday, confess your growing feelings to tsukasa. but before you knew it, the play was already over. the audience, was clapping as the chairs slowly emptied out once again, leaving you alone. you got up and ran over to the back of the stage and congratulated the group about their performances. the group members all started leaving, but tsukasa stayed with you. the sun was setting, and you never realized how pretty he looked under the setting sun, the sun shining on his golden hair, lighting him. it felt perfect, both of you alone. he stated that you were his own special 'lucky charm'

as you both were lost in thought, he laughed a little. you smiled and realized that it was getting late. as he started walking away, he stopped and turned back to look at you. you were pretty confused, really. that was, until he said, "oh yeah, thank you for coming here, y/n. i like you a lot!"

You knew what you were getting into when you started dating Tsukasa. Despite being a delinquent, he was one of the prettiest, kindest boys you've ever met and you weren't the only one who felt that way. Girls were always fawning over him, staring shamelessly as he passed. Hell, even some guys couldn't help staring at him.

To your credit, it didn't bother you for a long time. It wasn't until the two of you were in your senior year of high school that it started to chip away at your confidence. The girls approaching him were so pretty, bringing him different gifts every time he headed to or from school. There was one in particular that seemed hell-bent on getting his attention and she just happened to be the most beautiful girl you've ever seen.

You often found yourself picturing them together and you hated how perfect they looked. In your mind, she would look a lot better hanging off his arm than you did. Besides, she was rich and could afford to bring him expensive gifts and baked goods. Your family didn't have a lot of money so you couldn't afford to buy him anything despite wanting to.

It was honestly frustrating.

Did she know that he was dating someone? You didn't want to bother him with something like this so you decided to take things into your own hands. You left school early one day, hoping to catch her before she could approach Tsukasa again. Maybe if you cleared things up and told her that he was taken, she would stop giving him gifts and waiting for him every day.

There she was, leaning against a wooden fence with her phone in her hand. A plastic bag hung from her arm and you could see the top of a red ribbon sticking out of the top - a present, no doubt. You took a deep breath to calm yourself before approaching her with a kind smile.

"Excuse me?"

She glanced up, sent you a disinterested look, and returned to her phone.

Despite finding this to be quite rude, you kept your tone friendly. "Are you waiting for Tsukasa-kun?"

Her eyes narrowed at you as she straightened her back. "Yeah, so what?"

"Well, I just thought you should know he's seeing someone."

"So?" she quirked a brow, hand on her hip. "If he's accepting my gifts, clearly he isn't happy with his girlfriend. I bet she can't even afford to buy him anything he deserves."

You visibly winced at the comment, feeling as if her words were arrows piercing your skin.

"Oh my god, it's you, isn't it?" She smirked, looking you up and down. "No wonder he's seeking attention in other girls."

"Tsu-kun is too nice to flat-out reject someone," you told her, doing your best not to let her words get to you.

She giggled loudly, bringing a manicured hand to her mouth. "Oh, honey, is that what you tell yourself to help you sleep at night? I bet he's only with you because he feels sorry for you! You must know that, right? If you really care about him, you should let him go so he can be with someone who actually deserves him."

Before you could even reply, she turned on her heel and walked away, flipping her wavy hair over her shoulder. You swallowed hard, unable to move from where you stood. Was she right? Was Tsukasa only dating you because he felt sorry for you?

You felt as if you were at risk of losing him. After all, what kind of partner were you if you couldn't even give him a simple gift? Your fists clenched at your sides, determination burning in your eyes.

"Damn it, you won again!" Fujio groaned, tossing his cards onto the table. He and the rest of his faction were sitting on the roof of Oya High.

Jamuo grinned, wrapping his arms around the stack of snacks and pulling them closer. "Thank you, Fujio-san!"

"Tsukasa~" Fujio pouted at his best friend as if he could somehow fix the problem.

The blonde shrugged from his place on the couch, one arm slung over the back and the other resting over your shoulders. "I told you not to go all in."

His eyes fell on you next and you laughed.

"Tsu-kun did tell you. You should have listened."

"I want to go again!" he declared, eyes narrowed in determination. "All in, Jamuo!"

The shorter boy pretended to think about it for a moment before shaking his head, a grin on his lips. "I don't wanna!"

"Oh, come on! I'll definitely win this time!"

"I'm not taking that chance. These snacks are mine!"

Tsukasa shook his head as the two continued arguing, a smile tugging at his lips. Your eyes fell on him and you also smiled, feeling your heart skip a beat as it did every time you looked at him. The sun was beaming down on him, making it appear as if he were surrounded by a soft glow. It had been a few weeks since your confrontation with that girl, but her words often replayed inside your head.

Your phone vibrated in your pocket and you tugged it out, quickly turning off the alarm you had set. It was time for you to leave but it was always hard coming up with an excuse that your boyfriend would believe. He was frustratingly perceptive, usually able to pick up when he was being lied to. Not only that, but he was also quite protective over you and he didn't like you going around on your own.

You cleared your throat before standing up from the couch, offering your friends a smile. "I need to get going. I'll see you guys later."

"Bye," smiled Jamuo, offering you a small wave.

"Take care!" Fujio smiled at you before attempting to take one of the snacks, his hand being smacked by Jamuo. "So mean!"

Tsukasa stood up without hesitation. "I'll walk you home."

"No need," you replied quickly, smiling reassuringly at him when he furrowed his brow. "I'm meeting up with my cousin."

"I can still walk you there."

"It's okay, really. You need to stay here and keep Fujio from losing his mind over his loss," you joked, trying to lighten the mood.

Tsukasa observed you for a moment, lips pursed and brow furrowed as he tried to determine what was going on inside your mind. You've been acting strange for a couple of weeks now and he wasn't sure why. Every time he asked you about it, you told him that everything was fine. He knew it wasn't, but he couldn't force you to talk to him. All he could do was let you know that he was here for you and wait until you were ready to talk.

"Alright," he finally replied, cupping your face so he could bring you closer. "Promise me you'll be careful."

"I promise."

"And if anything happens, you'll call me?"

"I will."

"Good." Tsukasa closed the distance, kissing you gently. "I love you."

Those three words were enough to steal the breath from your lungs, leaving you feeling giddy.

I bet he's only with you because he feels sorry for you!

The words echoed in your head like a mantra, followed by her high-pitched laughter that sucked every ounce of happiness from you. Your smile faltered and you knew that he had noticed it. Before he could question it, you pulled away from him and hurried toward the stairs, your heart pounding in your chest.

'If he wasn't suspicious before, he has to be now!' You cursed under your breath. When you reached the courtyard, you could feel eyes on you and knew it was Tsukasa watching you. As badly as you wanted to turn and smile up at him, you resisted the urge and hurried away from the school.

After the interaction with that girl, you decided that you were going to get a job and save up to buy Tsukasa a gift that would blow all of hers out of the water. With his birthday right around the corner, you were determined to make it one he would never forget. In truth, you hadn't been lying to him because you were meeting your cousin - he was the one who got you the job and he also worked there with you.

You tugged open the door of the bakery, the smell of freshly baked brownies wafting across your nose. Your cousin, Taka, was wiping down the counter, smiling when he noticed you.

"Hey, you ready for the afternoon rush?"

"Not even a little bit," you chuckled, heading into the back so you could put your things away and grab an apron. After washing your hands, you returned to the front just as a crowd of people approached. For the most part, it went perfectly fine, excluding the fact that you didn't get more than a few seconds to breathe. The place was packed, people talking loudly as they waited for their order.

Your cousin nudged you, holding two lattes. "Can you take this to table five?"

"Sure." You carefully took the cups from him focusing on where you were going rather than who was sitting at said table. "Two lattes for Maki-san?"

"Oh my god, it's you."

You glanced up, instantly feeling your heart sink into your stomach. It was her, the girl that insisted on taking Tsukasa from you. She was there with her friend who was just as pretty as she was. Your jaw clenched as you carefully set the cups on the table. "Can I get you anything else?"

She snickered in amusement. "Let me guess, you got this job so you can afford to buy Kasa-kun a gift, right?"

Kasa-kun? Your brow furrowed. No way was she close enough to call him by a nickname.

"You could work here for the rest of your life and still never have enough to give him what I do. Oh and look, it's time for me to give him my gift again!" Maki stood up, flipping her hair over her shoulder as she picked up the bag containing his gift. She sent you a smirk before purposefully knocking over the drink, the lid popping off and the liquid inside spilling out onto the table. "You shouldn't be so clumsy!"

You sent her a deadpan look, well aware of everyone's attention now on you.

She shoulder-checked you as she walked by, her friend close behind.

"I hate her," you muttered under your breath, glaring at the spilled latte.

"Oi, what are you doing?" snapped your managed with a scowl. "Clean that up, now!"

You bowed to him in apology before rushing to clean up the mess she had made.

You bit your lip as you walked around the jewelry store, scanning the items on display. Most of them were crazy expensive and way out of your price range, but they had a sale going on right now. You had been working hard and had saved up a bit of money, though you did give some of it to your parents to help pay the bills since they were struggling.

What should you get him? You weren't sure but you wanted it to be special, to be something meaningful that he could wear for a long time. Sure, you could just get him some flowers, a card, and something sweet to eat, but those things won't last. They also didn't feel very meaningful to you because of how common they were.

As you scanned the items within the glass case, your eyes landed on a bracelet sitting at the back. It was beautiful. It looked to be made of black pearls with silver crowns and blue pearls at each end. In the center was a silver lion head. It immediately made you think of Tsukasa because of the time Murayama-san had called him a sleeping lion. You thought the term was fitting because he was just as majestic and strong as one. Would he appreciate such a gift or be annoyed by it?

"It's a beautiful bracelet, isn't it?"

You looked up in surprise at the woman standing on the other side of the counter, a friendly smile on her lips. Her name tag read, 'Yuki.' "Yes, it's quite beautiful. Are those pearls?"

She shook her head. "No, they're made of black tourmaline. It's said that these stones work as a bodyguard to shield their wearer from harm, strengthening their immune system and helping them find relief from discomfort. It keeps your chakras balanced and helps to soak up negative energies."

Your eyes widened at her words. That sounds perfect for him, given how much danger he always puts himself in. "And the blue ones?"

"Blue agate. It's excellent for reducing anxiety, despair, and stress which also aids in the healing of one's body, mind, and spirit. As for the lion, it exudes charisma and courage. This bracelet is designed to help you channel your inner lion no matter what situation you find yourself in."

You bit your lip, unsure if you believed in what she was telling you. It sounded too good to be true and, in your experience, such things rarely turned out well. Did you really have anything to lose, though? If it didn't work as she described, it was still a beautiful piece of jewelry to adorn his wrist. And on the off chance it did work, it could really assist him with the life he's chosen to live.

"How much is it?"

"The normal price is fifty dollars, but it's currently on sale for forty."

If you bought the bracelet, you'd be dead broke which meant you wouldn't be able to treat him to dinner as you had planned. 'He can just have dinner with his family,' you decided. "I'd like to buy it, please!"

She smiled warmly at you, nodding her head before unlocking the case. "Would you like the box wrapped?"

You felt embarrassed telling her that you couldn't afford it but she seemed to sense your line of thought.

"It's no extra charge."

You almost exhaled in relief but managed to hold it back. "Yes, please!"

"Of course."

You watched her as she carefully wrapped the box in wrapping paper. She made it look so easy, doing so without tears or creases. It was pristinely wrapped, as if done by a machine rather than a human being, and she topped it off by wrapping a yellow ribbon around it.

"Thank you so much."

"I'm sure he'll love it," she told you with a smile, handing the gift over to you.

"I hope so," you replied, bowing to her politely before leaving the store.

As you approached Oya Koukou, you felt nerves dancing within you like butterflies. Would he like it? Had he seen Maki already and accepted her gift? Did she even know it was his birthday? A million questions filled your mind but you did your best to ignore them, focusing only on the task laid out before you.

When you finally reached Oya, however, you saw your boyfriend standing outside the gates and he wasn't alone. Maki stood in front of him with a gift in her hands - it was tall and rectangular in shape with a giant red bow on top. A frown tugged at your lips as your gaze fell to the small box in your own hands, no doubt much cheaper than whatever she had bought him.

You caught Maki's eye and she smirked at you, leaning forward and pressing a kiss to Tsukasa's cheek. Your heart clenched painfully as you turned on your heel, quickly walking away from them. It felt stupid to feel this way, but you just felt as if you couldn't compete with her. You found yourself wondering if you were holding him back, preventing him from being in a relationship that he deserved.

Fingers wrapped gently around your wrist, stopping you in your tracks. You didn't even have to look to know who it was, the scent of vanilla mixing with his cologne wafting across your nose. It was such a beautiful smell, one that you enjoyed deeply, but it couldn't calm your nerves at that moment.

"Hey," Tsukasa called out softly, his hand slipping down until it found its place against your own. "That wasn't what it looked like. She -"

"Really likes you," you interrupted just as softly, unable to face him. "She brings you gifts every day..."

"You knew about that?"

You nodded, lowering your head. "She's really pretty and she has money to spend on you."

"Just what are you trying to say?" his brow furrowed, hand tightening around your own.

"I'm just saying," you took a deep breath, closing your eyes. "That maybe she's a... better fit for you than I am."

"You're joking," he laughed but it lacked any sense of humor. "Is this why you've been so distant with me lately?"

"That's part of it..."

"Then what's the other part?"

You hesitated for a moment before slowly turning toward him and holding out the gift. "I've been working. Here, this is your birthday gift."

His lips parted, gaze flickering between you and the gift as he searched for the right words. "Did you... get a job to buy this?"

"It's not much. Not compared to hers." You muttered the last part under your breath. "Take it."

Instead of doing what you told him, he tugged on your hand, pulling you into his chest. His arms wrapped tightly around your body, one hand going to the back of your head. Your body tensed up at the sudden gesture, having not expected it, but you quickly melted in his warm embrace.

"You didn't have to do that," he told you softly. "And you definitely don't have to compete with Maki."

Your body tensed at the mention of her first name and he sensed it, increasing his hold on you in case you tried to pull away.

"She went to the same elementary school as us," he explained. "She had a massive crush on Fujio back then. She even called me ugly."

You scoffed at this, having seen pictures of him when he was a child thanks to his mom. "You were the cutest kid ever, what the hell?"

Tsukasa chuckled, finally pulling away. "Thank you, hun."

Warmth flooded you at the pet name and you cleared your throat, motioning toward the gift. "Are you gonna open it now?"

"So impatient," he hummed, carefully undoing the bow and handing it to you. He took his time with the paper as if he didn't want to tear it too badly. His brow went up when he saw the jewelry box. "Are you proposing to me?"

"Of course not!" you replied quickly, cheeks darkening at the thought of spending the rest of your life with him. "It's too big to be a ring box."

"Not if it's a big ring."

"Oh my god, Tsu-kun."

He laughed again, the sound pleasing to your ears. After what felt like ages, he finally pulled the lid off and carefully removed the bracelet from the box. He held it up, inspecting it carefully.

You bit your lip nervously, shifting from one foot to the other. "I know it's not much, but -"

"I love it."

"Eh?"

He slid it onto his wrist, eyes shimmering with love as he repeated, "I love it. Thank you so much, hun."

"Really? You really mean it?" You searched his face for any sign that he was lying but you found none.

Instead of answering you, he closed the distance, his hand resting on the side of your neck as his lips claimed your own. Your fingers curled around his shirt, tugging him closer as you returned the kiss, hoping he could feel all of the love you felt for him.

He rested his forehead against your own, a bright smile on his face. "I love you so much."

"I love you, too," you breathed out, unable to stop your own smile.

"And for the record," he explained, brushing your cheek with his thumb. "I didn't want to accept her gifts but Fujio talked me into it. Her dad owns a big bakery and she always brings me sweets from there."

"Sweets?" your brow furrowed. "Not jewelry or clothes?"

"No, just sweets." He frowned, pecking your lips again. "You were really worried about this, weren't you?"

"Not at first," you admitted, tugging at the bottom of his shirt. "It wasn't until I confronted her that I started to feel... I don't know, insecure, I guess."

"What did she say to you?" his eyes darkened. "If she hurt you -"

"Nothing," you replied quickly, not wanting to ruin the moment. "It doesn't matter. I'm sorry for being so weird lately."

"Don't apologize. Just promise me that you'll come to me next time. If there's a problem, we'll work on it together. Okay?"

You nodded, brushing the hair away from his forehead. "I promise."

"Good. I won't accept her gifts anymore."

"Are you sure? Fujio will be sad."

"He'll get over it. Now, come here." His lips found yours again, filled with so much love that it stole your breath away.

You realized how silly you had been to let her words affect you. Tsukasa was your boyfriend and he loved you dearly. He was determined to make sure you knew that and never questioned yourself again.

I was thinking abt kohaku. bc rereading dark nights passing, except in eng they translated it to something stupid like awakened night patrollers. but thats not important

kohaku thinks he's a bad person, but he's really not - I actually find his moral compass incredibly strong given the circumstances he was born into and lives with. he's thoughtful and incredibly introspective, so he's done a lot of thinking in order to reconcile with the undeniable fact that what he and his family do is shady and considered immoral by society. and the conclusion that kohaku comes to is incredibly self sacrificing but honestly very noble. he mentions repeatedly that he'd rather have his hands stained, and have to live with the guilt of doing terrible things, if it meant that the greater parts of society could walk with clean consciences. he talks extensively abt how important doing things for the good of society is, even at the expense of the individual; while it can be called unfair that he's been born into circumstances like this that force him to be the one to do dirty things and he can lament that fact, he recognizes it as his duty, and he's dedicated to carrying it out to his utmost in order to protect the people he loves

kohaku recognzies that his actions are terrible, but commits to the ideal that society can be a better, cleaner place at the expense of himself. he mentions dreaming about a day when people like him and madara are no longer needed. kohaku sees himself as disposable, and just a necessary tool for society to use to handle the things no one else wants to touch, and then to be thrown away

when he and madara are collecting information about gfk, madara mentions how ibara always leaves himself an out of any situation, and that kohaku should think about doing the same - if their plan to eliminate gfk failed, he could pin the blame on madara and say madara threatened him. kohaku denies this vehemently.

he understands that his responsibility is undesirable, but he commits to it and does not think, ever, about shirking it in order to save himself. "don't be a fool. don't be like rinne - I never intend to pass my sins on to someone else," he tells madara(ch9). in fact, kohaku seems baffled and probably a bit annoyed in this case(madara loves egging him) that anyone would want to protect him, because he's already dismissed himself as expendable

he mentions madara, rinne and tsukasa as people who are "foolish" enough to care about kohaku's wellbeing, despite knowing what he does. he loves aira and cares about him deeply, and the same is true in reverse, but he tries to keep this part of himself hidden from aira in order to preserve aira's idealism towards idols, since he knows how much aira loves them

kohaku seems to think that if he told aira the truth, aira would no longer love him, for shattering his worldview, but almost certainly aira would care for him all the same - aira already knows what he did as crazy:b, after all, even if afterwards a bunch of blame was shifted around so crazy:b wasn't technically at fault. aira talks to leo while double face are gearing up for their job and expresses concern for kohaku because he mentioned that he had "shady work" and he'd distanced himself from aira shortly after - but after talking to leo, aira comes to the understanding that kohaku's distancing himself in order to protect aira, a person important to him. the funny thing is aira can't believe that kohaku cared about him that much - he thought his deep affection for kohaku only went one way(like an idiot. a loveable one though)

the thing is kohaku cannot fundamentally understand why people would want to care about him as himself, flaws and dirty work and all. he fails to realize that even with his dirty work as a factor, he has an incredibly strong moral character and cares deeply for other people, both generally as a greater society and specifically the people he loves. in fact, because of how he dismisses himself, he dedicates all his energy to improving the world for others, and his self esteem keeps himself from recognizing why other people would want to do the same for him

it's because you're a good person, kohaku. very lovable, murder and all

I couldn't stop thinking since your post about wxs parents, or more specifically the tenma parents, bc they actually interest me a lot

Because like, the tenma mom DOES actually come up sometimes in saki and tsukasa's side stories and an area conversation. And not just the fact she taught them to play piano, i mean more familial situations. She even appears by herself and it's usually when they're at the house and she seems really sweet and caring actually

And also whenever Tsukasa brings her up (which he seems to do more often than Saki? Or at least from the stories I've read, i might be wrong) he speaks of her in a way that seems quite fond and might imply that she is around at the house at least usually

In contrast, though, the tenma dad almost NEVER comes up. Like the only time I remember him being mentioned (that is NOT about tsukasa bringing up That Show they watched as kids or the family visiting saki at the hospital bc that's obvious they're there) was once in the hinamatsuri event about how he bought the doll stand and some helmet when they were little? smth about how he impulse buys things

And that was it. He didnt even appear

He's never actually appeared by himself at the house or any side story to my knowledge (do correct me if I'm wrong) and he doesn't SEEM to be around the house on a daily basis at all

Even in the past when tsukasa stayed at home alone it was tenmama he got calls from, at least the one they showed us

Tenpapa's job is also never mentioned unlike tenmama's. And like tenmas are implied to be at least somehow recognisable or respected of a family, or at the very least by people like the Aoyagis since they are always stated to hold them in such regard, but is it just about tenmama playing the piano? Or maybe there's smth more about the dad that we don't know?

He's just. Such an enigma. We barely have any crumbs. Even in that image of baby tenmas seeing a show for the first time from the beginning of wxs main story shows a little bit of tenmama, like we can see her hair and all, but we can only see tenpapa's hand

It's just... where is he?? At work? What does he do?? Why don't they talk about him that much??? Why won't they show him in side stories??? Am I reading too much into it???

Anyway tsukasa and saki definitely love their parents and at the very least the mom seems like a rly caring and overall present person in their lives. They never say anything bad about the dad either if they ever do. They seem like good parents overall. The whole tsks neglect thing, yes, of course it wasn't a good decision to leave him alone at home, but it doesn't make them bad. Tsukasa never even mentioned anything that could imply he holds it against them and ik he is stupidly forgiving sometimes and sometimes forgets about himself but still. You get me. Besides we don't really know the extent of it all so shsuhd

YOU loved flowers, they've been a part of your life ever since you were little, as your mother was a florist and your father would take up gardening as a hobby.

you'd always help your mother with her shop during the summer, be it by helping her grow her flowers or bring her whatever she needed at the moment.

eventually over the years, you started to actually work at her store when you became old enough to take care of yourself, usually working as a clerk during the summer.

during your months working there, you would always meet uniquely different people, be it a small child wanting to buy their parents flowers, a teenager wanting to buy a bouquet for their partner, or an elderly person wanting to buy a bouquet for their grandchild that is graduating.

although they wouldn't compare to the teenager that was in front of you— his short scruffy blond hair that faded into peach tips were now slightly disheveled by the way he almost in a hurried pace into the store, his amber eyes and seemingly naturally bright smile would've put you in a haze if you were caught off guard for long enough, but quickly regained composure to give him your signature customer service smile.

"excuse me-! do you have any flowers that would be perfect for giving someone who's in the hospital? i don't have any specific flower in mind.." the blond asked, slightly looking around the store, observing any of the flowers that stood there as decorations for the store.

"alright! please wait here while I go get the flowers, then." you nodded before quickly going into another room to retrieve the flowers you had thought of, not feeling the slight heat creep up onto your face.

tsukasa liked flowers, despite not getting the appeal about it. sure, some smelled nice, looked pretty and made great decorations, but he never really seemed to understand why a lot of people would be almost obsessed with them.

saki liked them, though, so that's why he was in the florist's, watching as the store clerk hurriedly came back with a bouquet of pink tulips, petunias, and yellow roses, intricately decorated and tied together with a pale yellow cloth wrapped around the flowers, a pink bow tied around them to pull off the look of a neat bouquet.

as the worker reached out their arms to hand him the bouquet, he subconsciously fixated on their face— they looked around his age, and not to mention, they looked really pretty.

"oh, right! here's your money, goodbye!" he exclaimed, shoving the money in their hands before rushing off with the bouquet in hand, his face being redder and redder as he processed his nonchalant thought.

ANYWAY let me go sicko mode under the cut hehe. taking a bit from my rui blog bc i dont wanna retype all dat

worldbuilding

there is a big magical forest at the center of the region, it's considered dangerous and somewhat risky to travel through, as the inhabitants (which are primarily either magic users/"witches" or other inhuman beings. but there's also some standard like. fantasy jrpg monsters yk how it is) consider it their safe home and may not take kindly to outsiders or anyone trying to harm the forest.

magic users have varying reputations in the kingdoms outside of the forest, some don't mind and maybe even are welcoming towards them, others frown upon it but ultimately don't care, but some might even consider it taboo or forbidden to dabble in. it's for this reason that magic users born in the kingdoms may ultimately leave their homes to live in the safety of the forest instead

virtual singers (theyre the only ones to come up in story, but not the only ones) are among many of the guardians of the region, originating from the forest.

miku is basically the god of the world (likely under another name- or the goddess's name is known only as hatsune but not miku), but can't physically interfere in her primary state (think the law of cycles from pmmm), and so sends "fragments" of herself (sekai mikus) to help people and in the case of this au its the prsk characters

the otori family are the rulers of one of the kingdoms (the kingdoms do not have names. do not look at me), rakunosuke, the original king of the otori kingdom before emu's father kounosuke took over, was a lot more of open to magic users and other fantastical beings, and taught his son and grandchildren accordingly. when he passed, however, kounosuke and his elder sons would teach the younger children to be more fearful and wary- that not every being they'd encounter would be friendly

tsukasa & saki grew up in a small town with their parents, but fell on unexpected hard times, this resulted in them having to leave the town and it's inhabitants behind, the two ended up on their own, later joined by a semi amnesiac toya, where they were later adopted and raised by the otoris, being raised as royalty accordingly. (tsukasa trained to be a knight however, and toya felt very strongly about not wanting to be a heir unless absolutely necessary, resolving to use his smarts to tutor the other kids)

hinata helps emu and saki do their hair btw they r the sisters ever

rui is a natutal born magic user who grew up in a town that was not quite favorable to them- atleast not to magic users who don't restrain themselvesm rui wanted to experiment with his magic to see what he could do- all for the sake of helping people- be it healing, or doing visual tricks to make others smile, but the other villagers were afraid and/or distrusting of him. fearful of the villagers turning that hatred towards his parents, rui fled the village one night without telling his parents (at best leaving a note explaining why he left) to go stay in the forest.

nene is a friend of rui's- a mermaid from said forest, rui would visit when he was younger, coming to see her at the lake she stayed at. there, alongside their third companion (mizuki), the kids would discuss all sorts of things- magic, nature, society, the world.. nene doesn't know much of the world outside the forest, but wants to see the ocean someday.

tsukasa went out on a patrol to scout the areas of the region a bit further out from where the kingdom was situated- it's there he comes across rui and his "familiars" (kaito and wxs!miku) and the story begins! but tsukasa's big adventure also inspires emu to go on one of her own and play catch up ✨️

It was a relatively normal day for Rui, all things considered. Practice wasn't until later, so he was currently hanging out with Mizuki and you

This wouldn't be an issue, except for when Mizuki turned to him, a shit-eating grin on their face. What were they up to now?-

"Sooo, Rui," They began, eyes shining, "When are you going to ask them to marry you?"

Both you and Rui seemed to freeze, Rui's gaze flickering between you and Mizuki. You swore you could see the smallest bit of uncertainty on his face before it was replaced with his usual grin

He tapped his chin, looking you over. "I don't know," He began, your eyes widening as he took your hands in his, "But I'd like to hope soon. They are my dearest, after all."

You could tell he was being completely serious, and you almost melted into his arms. Did he actually mean that?...

Mizuki whistled behind you both, nudging Rui with their elbow, "Oooh, I see how it is! I better be a maid of honor or something for ya!" "I'm sure you will be." He smiled and kissed the back of your hands. He was going to be the death of you.

Akito:

Akito had been invited to a last minute hangout session with Mizuki. While he usually would have declined, not wanting to put up with their constant teasing, you would be there, so of course he had to go

The three of you were sitting together, with you in the middle and Akito and Mizuki on your sides. Mizuki turned to look at Akito, grinning

"So, Lil Bro!" He glared at them in annoyance, but they kept going, "When are you gonna put a ring on their finger?"

The three of you sat in silence before Akito stood up, his eyes wide and face so incredibly warm. His heart was pounding, but he'd rather die before he told either of you that

"I- You- It's none of your business!" His words were sharp, sounding angry but you knew he was just flustered. He ran his fingers through his hair, avoiding both of your gazes, "I mean I- I would- I'd-"

He could barely talk, and that was when you stood to take his hands in yours. He snapped out of it to stare at you, and although his face was still warm, the anger had faded

"...Fuck, I hope it's soon." He had blurted the words out without thinking, and it was your turn to have your face warm. Mizuki was grinning, raising a brow, "Oooo, really? I could give you some tips!-" "Shut up-"

Toya had invited you to another practice session with VBS, and the only people currently at the WEEKEND GARAGE was you, him and An

As you all waited for the other two members, An turned to face Toya, a smile on her face as she took a sip from her drink

"Hey Toya!" He turned toward her in acknowledgement, "You ever think about when you'll get married to them?"

The question almost made you spit out what you were consuming, and Toya had froze mid-sip. He took a deep breath before putting his cup down, looking at you

"...I don't know, when do you want to get married?" The question was asked with so much softness, so much care that you almost thought you imagined it.

Except you hadn't, and his face showed just how genuine he was. He had reached out to hold your hand to, and you thought that you could melt from his warmth

You gave your answer, and Toya smiled, squeezing your hand before kissing your forehead. "Well, I can't wait." An was beaming behind you both, "Can me and Kohane be maids of honor??" "Sure, Akito would probably be my best man anyway."

Tsukasa:

You were currently sitting in the Tenma's living room, Saki on one side and Tsukasa on the other. It was always a pleasure to spend time with them both

I think that when they're rehearsing or blocking scenes, rui will just pick up nene, emu or tsukasa and move them. nene gets carried bridal style, emu will cling to rui like a koala, and tsukasa is either carried like a sack of potatoes or a wet cat. he'll change it up sometimes tho so tsukasa will be expecting wet cat treatment and instead get the married man 5000. speaking of my boy tsukasa i think. he's the touchiest person ever. like more than emu.

my man was so touch starved when he was little that now he just. cannot get enough of it. he lets emu cling onto him and nene hold his hand and rui put his elbow on his shoulder and whatever else. and he carries nene around and spins emu and leans onto rui. and at this point everyone's noticed it but they just don't say anthing bc awwwww. skrunkly.

also sorry for the wackiest take ever but i think nene is second on the touchy-o-meter. she really enjoys it when people hold her hand or whatever but. she's not sure how to ask. she thinks "maybe i can ask if emu/rui/tsukasa wants to h*ld h*nds" and the cringe detector in her head goes off.

emu of course is "can we hug?" "can we hold hands?" "can you carry me?" "can i carry you?" and nobody ever tells her no bc <3. she will come at you in high speeds and there's <3 nothing you can do. she does it to tsukasa the most bc she knows he always spins her aound when he catches her. rui will just pick her up bc he doesn't know how to spin her. and nene will catch her in a hug.

rui the type of guy to put his elbow on people's heads bc he's tall and needs to rub it in. he also frequently does the carrying around because he's the tallest. emu will ask him to give her a piggyback ride bc she likes feeling tall. he also learned how to ballroom dance on youtube and will just randomly pull one of them into a dance.

i also changed my mind actually they're all the same level of touchy but emu's the one who initiates it all the time. or tsukasa but yeah. they are all just touch starved and crave physical contact <3

i've said it a billion times before: tsukasa is the comedic relief weirdguy, the devs basically will do anything with him so long as it's funny.

so starting with that valentine's day vlive in 2021. during the MC part of that he gets jealous that rui has been getting chocolates and tries to brag that he got lots of chocolates too but then immediately reveals that he got friendzoned by multiple girls. his voiceline that year is something about how he catches everyone's attention on vday and year round bc he's a star or something like that but anyway that whole interaction there seems to suggest he's straight lol.

however.

he's REALLY oblivious. played for comedy ofc but i see a lot of people interpret this as him being somewhere on the aro spectrum (probably not what the writers intended but fair instance of accidentally coding a character as smth). examples include: not understanding why Akito doesn't want to be seen at PXL alone with Toya in an Akito's initial 3* (second story), literally says "thank you" when Asahi basically confesses to him and completely misses the point (he actually did seem to nearly get this one for a second), and he doesn't understand why Rui's friends are impressed that he's friends the incredibly attractive Shizuku (Tsukasa is the only not-gay-coded male character who isn't attracted to Shizuku, probably because they're childhood friends. or if you want to view him as being aspec, then that works too). also when he mentions that he's friends with guys in his class who are cool and popular and good with women, Hibiki says that he was in a class with one of those guys in 1st year and is amazed that tsukasa is in that crowd now, emphasis on the "tsukasa's friends are good with women part". tsukasa's just confused about that because of course they talk to girls a lot they're in the same class.

also he usually rewrites a lot of romance plays to remove the romance. he rewrote R&J to just make it focused on the action (which is probably because he likes playing action heroes more than anything else), and he got rid of the romance plot in little mermaid because he didn't felt it was needed (this one is justified in-universe as they do fun shows for small children and don't really need the tragic romance, and also from production standpoint like you don't do that because fandom). so yeah that could again be read as him being aspec if you want but i don't think the writers intended it to be read that way, especially the R&J one that was purely for comedy.

all that said, this is an idol game, which generally run on the rule of thumb that every character is some flavour of queer, even if it's just for fanservice (i don't play enstars but from what i do know of it it falls a bit on that last point). anyway you can probably tell where this is going but he gets ship tease with rui sometimes. vast majority of this is from Rui's side but there are things like Oki ni Mesu mama

Tsukasa: Waiting for the "1, 2…" signal, holding hands with you is an act of courage for me

or that one part in pandemonium where he drops his persona for a brief second when he's impressed by rui's plan that was very much put there on purpose, or that Tsukasa and Airi's cheerful carnival team name from that event is "swayed by their partners (相方, aikata)" and when you consider that Shizuku and Airi are heavily implied to like each other, and have canonically been on a "date", that was also a Choice.

idk whether to count KING because justified by them being actors and the fang motif in the song... vampires kinda homoerotic it makes sense that the dance routine was that. also i'm not sure if the connect lives are even canon, especially the wxs one since tokishun broke character and the 4th wall.

yeah i dunno. the writers kinda just do whatever they want with him. interpret any of this how you will i'm just recounting shit from the game.
