a mother's love
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Veronica Bowman believed in science and facts. She studies the world through observation and experiment to explain natural occurrences. Joining the RDA was the best opportunity she had ever gotten in her life, to explore Pandora. She could earn billions with her research, and she could finally have a good life. When Grace told her that the nature surrounding them has an unexplained biological phenomenon behind them, she didn’t believe it. They were just plants. They are our source of water, clean air, food, and even medicines to heal us. How can something non-living have it’s own phenomenon? Not until Veronica met the Omatikaya was when she understood. She saw the importance of the forest, relationships, and bonds. It wasn’t science at all, but to be given a second chance at life was the best opportunity she had ever received.

The Ikranä Maktoyu (‘banshee rider’)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Neteyam x TayrangiClan!Reader
Summary: There was nothing you thought you couldn’t do. So, when the eldest son of Toruk Makto challenges you to a race on your Ikran? Well, you never were one to run from an honest challenge. Especially when you had the fate of your feelings riding on the line.
Note: This is my first Fanfiction for Avatar and specifically WoW. This doesn't follow any sort of plot, so it's not technically necessary to have watched the new movie. Anyways I hope you enjoy xx
Warnings: Fluff, Enemies to Lovers (kind of?), Blood. Kissing? idk. This is a long one. I like to give my fanfics context, ok?? lol
Word count: 4,203
As far as you were concerned you couldn't be any different from the similar blue skinned Navi in front of you. While you were used to more complicated headdresses, and guarded expressions, these Forest children of the Omaticaya clan, wore little and expressed much. Several Tayrangi Clan members and you had journeyed vast from the Eastern Sea to meet with the Omaticaya people and its fairly new leader, Jake Sully.
Your mother had brought you up on the story of Jake Sully's arrival, on how the Toruk Makto had led all the clans together in harmony in order to rid your home planet of the humans who were intent on destroying it. Everything about Omaticaya had fascinated you, but as you grew so did your responsibilities, and now you reserve your emotions to plain passiveness.
This was mostly due to the fact that the people were so much different from your own. Tayrangi had long been separated and socially outcasted due to their spirited independence, and the Omaticaya people had once despised it. However, times had changed, and as your mother fondly admitted to yourself, new beginnings can bring new outlooks.
So, there you sat, trying to hold in any regard of the Omaticaya children in front of you, who had been introduced upon arrival as the Olo'ekytan's children. The youngest and giddiest, Tuktirey, smiled brightly at you as if she noticed your presence for the first time since you had been there.
"Come play with us, y/n! We were just about to go out into the forest." Tuktirey laughed, as she tugged on her elder sister's hand. Kiri looked up at you with a shy smile, and for some reason it made your heart warm.
They were very sweet children, most of them at least. Upon your clan's arrival to the forest, you were bombarded by the sounds of Ikrans all around you. While you were mostly familiar with the sound, the laughter and rambunctious noise as they swooped across the trees startled your clan. Who was behind the wonderful greeting? None other than the eldest of Jake Sully's children, who you were introduced to through a flurry of apologies as Lo'ak and Neteyam.
Each bore a startling resemblance to their kinfolk, and by closer inspection you saw the youngest of the brothers resembled the same five fingered trait as his father. He was the most feigned of the two, which made you suspect this wasn't his first time having to apologize. Neteyam was sincere in his apologies at the least, the perfect mockup as the prodigal son, burdened since birth you could tell.
However, something about Neteyam made your heart race just a little faster. Perhaps it was the way he laughed, and his broad shoulders lifted up ever so slightly. Or maybe it was the way he looked into your eyes, and you felt the weight of the world fall endlessly at your fingertips. Either way, you made sure you kept your feelings in check. You had goals in life, and you wouldn't let some skxwang (idiot, moron) mess it up.
"I was hoping to head near the top of the mountains. It's actually really beautiful to see near sunset." Kiri voiced out, the sound startling you out of your memories, as she looked back to see Tuktirey jumping for joy.
"Mom never lets us go out there before dinner, but maybe she'll let us since you're here!" Tuktirey laughed as she began to beckon us to follow her.
"We can go, but we've got to wait for Spider. He should be here any minute." Kiri rolled her eyes, before glancing back in apology for her sister's rambunctious nature.
"You called?" You heard a male voice call out from behind you, your body jumping in fear. You were used to the rocky shores of your homeland providing you a sense of hearing, but now that you were hidden between the sounds of the forest, you couldn't quite gather your surroundings.
"Spider! There you are, where were you?" Kiri exclaimed, as you watched to see the human jump from a fallen tree limb, as he laughed underneath his mask.
When you had first taken a glimpse of a human on Pandora, it had not been under good circumstances. It was as the RDA had begun to shuffle their way out, but the memories from your older clan members had done enough to make you hold reservations against them. Even though you had been told of Spider's upbringing, you couldn't help but feel as if his alliance did not stand completely still against one side.
Spider glanced your way, a careful nod towards you, before pulling on Kiri's tail in playfulness. Kiri hissed as she smacked him away, him dodging her advances. Before you knew it, they were in their own little world arguing about something leaving Tuktirey to sigh in impatience.
"Guys can you stop! We have to get going!" Tuk complained. Kiri looked up as she glanced your way in apology. She beckoned Spider to follow us, as we began heading through the thick jungle.
You watched in hesitance as the Sully clan leaped and bounded across tree limbs and small streams. Syaksuk (lemurs) danced across the forest vines, their playful voices echoing around as they swung. Every so often Tuk would stop, playing with some sort of creature or fauna before Kiri or yourself would have to get her away from the distractions.
The trek was long, but it resembled your own passages on top of jagged rocks, trying to avoid falling. You laughed as you tried to keep up with the Omaticaya children, your passive disposition beginning to fade away. You actually felt really happy.
At this point in the day the light in the sky was beginning its descent, and you had just reached a parting in the densely bushed trees. Pushing forward, you followed Kiri and the rest stopped at what you could tell was an overlook. Pushing back a stray vine, your eyes widened before looking up.
There it was. Out of everything you had heard of the Omaticaya clan growing up, Ayram Alusing (The floating mountains) was the most magical. Your arrival to the clan had been up these very floating rocks. You could almost see the activity where the clan resided near the Tree of Souls.
"Mons Veritatis." You heard Spider whisper in awe, your gaze settling to where he looked to see one of the tallest mountains you had ever seen. Its top didn't even reach vision, the dense vog settling eerily to the distant calls of the Ikrans.
It made your heart thump in excitement at riding your Ikran across the sky.
"Iknimaya. It is our rite of passage to ride our Ikrans. You do the same right?" Kiri looked over at you, noticing your excitement with a smile.
"Yes, although I'm not sure which is more dangerous." You laughed as Kiri giggled, latching onto Tuk's hand.
"Well, there is only one way to find out."
You were startled by how quickly they began to race across the overlook and jump onto the vines. Your heart began to thump as you scaled the rocks higher up into the sky. You looked down to the steep fall below, wondering if you had just enough time to call for your Ikran to save you if you fell.
You were surprised that with each step it got easier, and even Spider, who was not built for Pandora's harsh terrain, kept up almost effortlessly. Maybe that was why they called him monkey boy.
"We're almost there!" Tuk squealed, as the sound of the Ikrans could be heard louder. The waterfalls were louder too, and you felt a strange lightness as you along with the rest of the group slowed down as you neared an alcove.
"There they are." Kiri said, pointing over to the left side of us where the Ikrans nested. The backdrop the rest of the way was beautiful as the Sun began to hang low, and the outline of the gas giant was visible.
You felt yourself wanting to ride your Ikran Payngyì , remembering that the hangar in which she resided was not too far away, and perhaps you could reach her.
Before you could debate it further a call could be heard, the voice sounding familiar, as you began to recall back to before and your arrival to Omaticaya.
Neteyam.
His Ikran soared across the sky, the multicolored blues of its wings casting shadows in the sky. Neteyam held strong to his Ikran, a symbol of good ability and you couldn’t help but feel your heart race at the sight. He swooped below, somehow spotting us in the little opening that we stood.
Spider began whooping, before you looked over to see Kiri rolling her eyes.
“It’s so obvious he’s trying to show off.” Kiri snarked, the signature fourteen year old attitude dripping off of her like hot honey. You couldn’t help but chuckle, before looking back towards Neteyam.
He now perched his Ikran where we were, his hushed whispers calming the still active creature. Looking over towards us, he swung his legs off the Ikran, before lifting his Ionar (rider's mask) and grinning.
“So, how long until Mom punishes you guys for being up here now?” Neteyam laughed at his siblings, before looking over at you. He pushed his head forward, and signaled a greeting. “Oel ngati kameie”
You felt your face heat up, as you returned the gesture haphazardly. “Oel ngati kameie.” Usually it came to you like clockwork, but you were quickly starting to realize even everyday tasks came awkward and jumbled when he was around.
Neteyam shifted his head in curiosity, before looking back at his siblings. “You know this won’t be a good impression to the Tayrangi clan if we keep breaking rules.”
“No. That was you and L’oak. Y/n wanted to be here.” Kiri sassed, knocking Neteyam over the head who groaned in playfulness.
“Mom will let us be here if y/n is here. She is a fierce hunter!” Tuk replied looking up to her older siblings.
Neteyam looked back at you, and the same expression graced his face. Can he seriously stop staring at me like that? It’s like he’s looking into my soul. You thought quietly, albeit returning his stare.
“Is that so?” Humor now splashing his face as he laughed. You frowned at his obvious display of mockery. “Pray tell me, where’s your Ikran now?”
Something in you snapped and whatever ounce of female gaze you had for him went away, and a competitive nature overtook you. “Where your clan resides. Why do you sound so shocked?”
Neteyam’s eyes lit as he watched you begin to challenge him with your voice. Something about the way your eyes squinted, or the way your soft lips titled in a scowl made his heart race in excitement.
Ever since your arrival he couldn’t help but find any way of talking to you, being near you, anything. He would be lying if it wasn’t driving him mad, especially when his siblings were beginning to pick up on it.
“I’m not. I just…” Neteyam paused thinking about his words before smiling deviously. Your head tilted as you began to realize what he was about to ask you.
“Do you care for a race? Since you’re a fierce hunter, I’m sure you and your Ikran can make a fine challenge for mine.” Neteyam crossed his arms, his mouth trying to hide the obvious nature of trying to get you to blow your temper.
“Now I would pay to see that.” Spider laughed looking over to Kiri who was shaking her head.
“Alright, what are the odds then?” You replied, your hand already itching to latch onto Payngyì.
“If you win, I’ll cover for you in case we get into trouble after this.” Neteyam shook his head in humor.
“And if I don’t, what… I’ll be thrown off the mountains for all of eternity?” You laughed.
Neteyam smiled widely before shaking his head. He began to walk towards you, and the feelings that you had pushed back in place of competition started coming back all at once. He leaned down, a wonderful scent invading your nose before whispering in your ear. “You owe me a date.”
You tried to hold in the gasp that threatened to push out, your head which had been cast down tilting up toward his own, very near face. “Deal.” You whispered. You watched as the corner of his eyes crinkled in amusement, the ghost of his touch passed your waist, before standing back. “Call to your Ikran.”
You wasted no time in standing closer to the edge, letting out your familiar call in hopes Payngyì would hear. You were right, as a few moments later her beautiful light blue figure flapped its wings and perched with a sounding screech.
You walked over to her, the beautiful golden shade of her pupils dilated as you gazed into her, petting her slowly in greeting. You looked over to Neteyam with a nod. “What are the parameters?”
Neteyam points out past the Tree of Souls to where a carefully arched connection of vines floated two mountains. “Over there, a little stretched away from where the camp is.”
You looked at him curiously, and he seemingly read your mind in the instant it crossed your face.
“Trust me it will be a challenge. The mountains move quickly, and you have to be careful to not hit anything.” Neteyam walked over to his Ikran, leaping up onto it.
You climbed up on your own, latching onto the Tsaheylu (bond/connection), feeling Payngyì screech, and her breath beginning to pump as she anticipated your next move.
“You can do it y/n!” You heard Tuk cheer, looking over you watched Kiri look at you with careful caution.
“Be careful. My brother is stupid, but he knows these mountains well. As much as it pains me to say it, he is one of the best hunters.” Kiri grimaced, Neteyam cheering out in response to her compliment.
“Are you ready, y/n?” Neteyam looked over at you with a wide smile.
You couldn’t help your own smile grace your face, nodding before him.
“I will see you at the finish line, then.” He winked, and suddenly you had forgotten there ever was a race, before watching as he dove his Ikran down, and upwards into the sky.
“Oh sh-” You exclaimed with a huff, following after him, the legs of Payngyì tightening, her wings closing in downwards. You felt the gust of air and you were suddenly very laser focused on winning. Not because the bullshit win might not guarantee you a harsh scolding afterwards, but simply to beat Neteyam. A man that was so intently after your own heart. And winning.
You saw him not too far in the distance, realizing there had to be a shortcut or some way to catch up to him and gain more speed. You tightened your hold on Payngyì, her voice squawking out as you nearly collided with a mountain that was moving closer to your right side. You banked left, realizing the air was a lot similar to that of the Eastern Sea.
Before in races, you would use the wind speed to gain traction by going downwards and upwards. This worked even better, once you realized that Neteyam in the distance was having to lose traction to weave through the mountains.
“Come on Payngyì.” You whispered, feeling her move exactly what you had in your mind, soaring upwards and downwards, before realizing you were nearing the tree of souls and the archway.
Neteyam glanced behind you with a fierce look in his eyes, before banking off and passing behind a particularly large mountain. You frowned realizing the same mountain that was coming left was now barreling toward you. You gasped narrowly escaping the bottom as you dived downward.
You must have startled Payngyì, because now she strained on your hold, and you could feel the fear in the bond. She began to slow down much to your disappointment, as you tried to push her forward.
All of the sudden you heard Neteyam fly past you from the opposite side he had come from. Payngyì, who had already been startled by the unfamiliar mountains, saw the shadow of his Ikran and screeched before diving again this time barreling towards the cliffs. You screamed, urging your Ikran to pull up but to no avail.
Neteyam must’ve seen the whole thing as you heard him call out to you. “Quickly this way!” He cascaded his own Ikran near the rocks, trying to keep Payngyì from hurting herself. In the process of pushing your own away from the cliffs, you watched as his shoulder scratched against jagged rocks, his skin tearing up. “Shit.” He swore.
“Neteyam!” You yelled, sighing in relief as he managed to pull his own Ikran away from the cliffs and fly smoothly next to mine. “Are you alright?”
“Yes…” He groaned, his injured arm locking up as his face squinted into a scowl. “I think-hold on…”
“Neteyam… do we need to stop?” You replied in concern, worried for the fact that his injury had begun to slowly bleed.
“Uh yeah…maybe…” His words now stuttering, looking at you in embarrassment. “Look, let's not go back to camp, I won’t be able to make my promise to you if we do.”
“If I was that worried about that Neteyam, I wouldn’t have agreed to this race.” I huffed. “Where do you want to go? You need care, you’re going to bleed out.”
“No, I know a place.” Neteyam grimaced, beckoning you to follow him. “Follow me.”
You grappled at the possibility of finishing the race or saving Neteyam, as you realized the way he was taking you was straight past the archway. He’s going to win, and I’ll owe him a date. You shook your thoughts from your mind, realizing any race or date was far from the task at hand, and making sure Neteyam is safe was more of a priority.
You sailed through the sky, the sun now setting, and the realization that your own mother and clan will be very disappointed if you embarrassed them by arriving past curfew. “Shouldn’t we just go back? I just don’t understand how any place we’re going will help you or anyone’s case.”
Neteyam, who had gone quiet, shook his head. “There is a place on the ground near the tree of souls not far from camp. Our ancestors used to go there because it possessed great healing powers. That’s where we get most of our medicine.”
You stared at him, his braided hair flying in the wind and his eyes focused intently on the mission ahead. It made you realize just how deeply he knew about his clan, and the role he knew he would have to serve one day. It made you look at him differently, and not just as a headstrong boy. He was a leader, he would be their savior one day.
As you neared the forest floor you saw a few spirit trees up ahead and a small rocky alcove. Resting both of your Ikrans on the floor, you realized the forest was beginning to come alive with its beautiful glow.
Neteyam grumbled, holding onto his arm loosely before looking up at me. “Uh.. if you grab some of those nearby plants-” You held up a hand, taking over realizing this routine was much similar to that of your clan near the Eastern Sea. Many times, you had to seek out ways to produce medicine for your injured clan, and the forest was no different.
“Sit down.” You ordered, pushing him down his mouth beginning to move in protest. “It’s the least I could do. You saved my life.” You looked down at him before turning back and grabbing some plants to make some sort of salve.
“Thank you.” You heard Neteyam quietly speak, feeling his eyes staring intently at your back. Your face heated up, grabbing a nearby rock and beginning to mash a few plants together.
You turned around, meeting his eyes who looked almost fascinated at you. You scrunched your face, and for the first time voiced your opinion. “Why do you always stare at me like that?”
“Like what?” Neteyam whispered, the nearness of your body to his and possibly the loss of blood making his voice go hoarse.
“Like…you’ve known me all your life or something.” You began applying the makeshift salve to his cuts, making him hiss in alarm. “Stop moving.”
“Well sometimes I think I do. You’re unlike anyone I’ve ever met.” Neteyam reached out his free hand, stopping you in your tracks. Your ears flicked in curiosity, before you shrugged his hand off of yours so you could continue. “Why do you ignore me?”
“I don’t.” You frowned, now suddenly very intent on helping bandage his arm, and stop from blurting out every ounce of feeling you have all at once. “You just-” You paused before continuing. “All the other boys in my clan have never once been so intent on getting my attention. Not that I want it but- you seemingly always do. And I-”
“Secretly like it?” You scoffed watching Neteyam’s mouth form into a wide smile.
“You’re a skxawng you know that?” You hissed, wrapping the bandage a little tighter against his arm much to his chagrin. At this point in his bandaging process, you had knelt next to him, and not realizing your nearness to him until you looked up to see his face so close to yours.
You inhaled that wonderful scent again and this time there was nothing to pull either of you away from each other. Neteyam closed in first, wrapping his uninjured hand onto your cheek softly, pulling you in for a kiss.
Wow. You thought to yourself. His lips were just as delicate as you had imagined them to be, yet strong and firm. You felt yourself move your own lips against his until both of you were passionately locked in one another. You felt his arm slide against your waist as you gasped, pulling you into his lap. Your mouth moved fervently against his, feeling the way he groaned beneath you. Something about the moment was complete bliss, and suddenly you were far away from your worries and goals in life, and all you wanted to do was to be wrapped in his arms for all eternity.
It all came to a halt when you felt his bandage arm try and glide against your body to pull you further down before the pain tore through. “Damn it!” Neteyam cursed, as you both pushed away in alarm. Your eyes widened as you  fell away from his arms looking frightened at hurting him, but also at what had just transpired.
Looking around you realized it was now nightfall and most definitely one skip away from being permanently grounded forever. The spirit trees moved as the wind passed them by, a few sacred seeds falling around both of you, most definitely aware of what had just transpired from you.
“I’m sorry.” Neteyam apologized, his breath still uneven, and his mouths a bit swollen from your own lips. If it had been any other situation you would have climbed back into his arms, but you realized you definitely should be heading back. Getting up from your position, your hand reached to grab his uninjured one.
“We should get going.”
Neteyam stuttered before grabbing onto your hand and standing next to you. “I- Don’t you want to talk about what just happened?” His hand swept across his face. “So does this mean…?”
“I-” You were at a loss for words. “I don’t know.”
Neteyam laughed before shaking his head. “You are unlike any female I’ve met.”
You bit your lip as you shook your head, laughing with him. “Look, I’m not sure if I’m-”
“Before you say anything.” Neteyam said, grabbing your arm to keep you from walking away. “Can I take you out on that date anyways? Since I figured it was a tie, and I was going to try and cover for you anyways.”
“I don’t think anything will save either of us from punishment, Neteyam.” You chuckled, shaking your head, before turning around and making your way back to your Ikran to fly back to camp.
“So?” Neteyam called back to you, as you heard his steps race toward your own. You turn around watching as he got closer and everything that had just transpired came rushing in.
“Yes.” You smiled. You realized there was nothing stopping you from him. You spent so much of your life running from love because you thought it would stop you from achieving your goals in life. That was until you met Neteyam, and suddenly you couldn’t imagine your life without him. You were hopelessly in love. “As long as you promise you can kiss me just like before.”
Neteyam grinned, before nodding, grabbing your waist and pulling you in close. “Deal.”
And just like that, you had fallen for the Ikranä Maktoyu, with no chance of catching yourself either.

Growing Pains
Jake Sully x Daughter!Reader
Tumblr media
NOTE : This takes place before Kiri and Tuktirey, so the reader is Jake's youngest child and only daughter. In this particular fic, she's a teenager.
Releasing a sigh, you busied your hands as you assisted your mother with wrapping up baskets. At the sound of your breath, she looked up from her own work, eyeing you curiously. You felt her gaze on you, but kept your eyes down, determined to avoid the inevitable conversation that was about to occur.
"Y/N . . ." Neytiri began, using a familiar, maternal tone that you knew all-too-well, "What is wrong?"
At the sound of the question, your throat tightened. The following week's events flashed through your mind, playing through your vision like a movie being skipped through. Swallowing thickly, you finally responded.
"Nothing, Mother. I'm fine."
Suspicion took over her expression as she studied you. Her knowing gaze intimidated you, and you knew that she was trying to catch your eye. However, you remained defiant, keeping your gaze down while grabbing another basket.
"Y/N," she repeated, gentler this time, "My sweet child . . ."
"I'm alright, Mom. Really."
This did nothing to ease her worries. In fact, it only heightened them. Pressing her lips together, she looked at Jake. He was a good few feet away, sharpening some weapons with your older brothers. To no surprise, he had been watching the entire interaction.
His gaze shifted from you to Neytiri, and their eyes met. Upon seeing her expression, he silently nodded, assuring her that he would talk with you later on. Her shoulders relaxed as she looked back down at you, closely watching your movements. Her sharp eyes caught the slight forcefulness of your hand movements, the subtle frown on your face, the agitated tail behind you.
Yes, something was definitely wrong. But, what, she could not figure out.
Therefore, Neytiri watched her youngest child sit in front of her, plagued with uncharacteristic anger, her heart clenched within her chest. She wanted to reach out and hold you, but instinct told her that this action wouldn't be wise. It would likely push you further into yourself.
Instead, she released a small sigh and sat back, looking at her hands as she continued to work. Between baskets, she would take small glances up, checking on you. Though she hated feeling so helpless, she forced herself to leave this in Jake's hands for now.
-
-
The bioluminescent forest glowed around you as you sat at the edge of a long, glowing overpass. The overpass bridged the Tree of Voices and the rest of the forest, with a pool of water sitting in between the two areas of land. Behind you, luminous waterfalls flowed down a large canyon of rocks. Looking down, with gentle kicking legs, you observed the purple, pink, and aquamarine luminescence that the pond exhibited. Gentle steam rose from the pond, caressing your swimming feet before rising past your legs.
At the sound of a branch breaking, your head jerked up. However, you quickly relaxed at the vision of your father walking towards you. Unable to resist the joy of seeing him, you flashed him a small smile, causing him to return one.
"Hey, babygirl," he greeted softly, taking a seat next to you, "How ya doing?"
Avoiding his gaze, you answered, "I'm alright."
"Just alright?" he inquired, reaching out to caress the back of your head.
He was fishing for information, just like your mother was, and you caught on quickly.
"I'm fine, Dad," you replied flatly.
He sighed deeply, moving his hand down to rub your back. "Y/N," he began, "I don't mean to be cliché here, but you know that I know you better than anyone. I'd even say better than your mother, but don't tell her I said that."
This earned a small giggle from you, making Jake smile. However, his serious expression returned as he continued. "And because I know you better than anyone, I know that the way you've been acting isn't you."
Your smile faltered as you kept your gaze low.
"Sweetheart, if something is wrong--if something is going on--"
"Nothing is going on!" you snapped, making him remove his hand and stare at you, "Just . . . please . . . you and Mom. Stop worrying about me, alright? I'm fine. I'm fine, I'm fine, and I'll say it until I've convinced you both."
Before he could respond, you stood up and sprinted back into the forest.
"Y/N!" he called.
When you didn't return, he closed his eyes before dropping his head. Releasing a breath, he did his best to check his emotions. However, he felt himself growing increasingly concerned. He'd dealt with issues pertaining to his sons before, but handling you was new territory.
-
"What did she say?" Neytiri whispered desperately, leaning forward to speak to Jake.
"She just kept insisting that she was fine. Just like earlier. But she's not. It's obvious with the way she's been acting. She--this just isn't her," Jake whispered back before releasing a breath, "She's hurting over something and it's turning into anger because we keep asking her about it."
Neytiri looked over, eyeing where you were sleeping with Neteyam and Lo'ak. "So, something is really wrong," she breathed, "I'm forcing her to tell me tomorrow. I don't care if I have to corner her."
"Neytiri," Jake whispered patiently, "She has a wall up. Pushing her will only make things worse. We've gotta let her come to us on her own time."
"I'm not going to let my daughter suffer with herself until she's ready to ask for help!" she hissed, "What if she doesn't come to us? It is our job to assure that she is alright!"
Jake sighed, dropping his head and nodding. He knew that his mate was right, but he could also empathize with you. When it came to sharing emotions, he, too, sometimes found it to be a daunting task. In many ways, emotionally, you were more like him than he preferred to admit.
Nevertheless, you were still his little girl, and he wasn't going to let this go on for much longer either.
"Give her one more day," he finally whispered, making Neytiri lean back in frustration, "One more day for her to come to us willingly. If she doesn't, we'll have an intervention, alright?"
Neytiri glanced back at your sleeping figure, feeling her heart clench, once again. Then, she looked back at Jake.
"One. More. Day," she agreed hesitantly, "Then, we force her to talk. I cannot stand to see her like this, Jake."
"I know," he agreed, "I can't either."
The following day came and went. You remained guarded and, to your dismay, your older brothers had finally taken notice. When Neteyam tried to ask you about your mood, you snapped at him.
By eclipse, Jake went out to find you, preparing to bring you home and sit you down with the entire family. He checked your favorite forest spots before finally visiting the place you'd been sitting at the previous night. As he crossed the empty overpass, he prepared to turn around before catching a glimpse of someone under the Tree of Voices.
Moving slowly, being cautious not to make any noise, he crept up to the tree. Immediately, he recognized the long hair and petite frame of his daughter. You were on your knees, with your hands clenched at your chest. When you looked up, he had a better view of your profile, and a clear view of the tears running down your face.
His eyes softened as he walked closer, still not revealing his presence.
"I just don't know what to do," you whimpered, speaking to the ancestors.
At the sound of your broken voice, Jake felt a sharp pang in his chest. Taking a knee, he gently placed a hand on your back, startling you immensely.
"Wha--" you cried, "Why are you here?"
"Shhh, easy, hey," Jake cooed gently, reaching out to grip your arms, "Easy, easy, it's okay."
"No, I didn't want you to see me like this," you cried, spiraling into a full breakdown.
He tilted his head, cupping one of your cheeks. "Babygirl . . ."
You whined a few incomprehensible words before saying, "I don't know what to do."
"About what? About what, sweetheart?" Jake asked desperately, keeping his hand on your cheek, "Baby, talk to me."
Your lips quivered as your squeezed your eyes shut. Lifting your hands to your face, you pressed the heels of your palms into your eyes.
Then, after lowering your hands, you looked into his eyes with nothing but pure vulnerability. While taking in your gaze, Jake no longer saw his teenager, but his little girl--the one that used to reach out to him with wide, teary eyes and call out to him.
"Daddy," you would squeak, sitting on the ground with arms reaching out to him. It didn't matter what he was holding, he would drop it and run to you, scooping you into his nurturing grasp.
Now, in this moment, the resemblance was uncanny as you whimpered a heartbroken, "Daddy."
His heart shattered as he shook his head. "Oh, honey," he whispered, "C'mere."
Pulling you to him, he wrapped one arm around your back while cupping the back of your head with his other hand. He took a seat and pulled you onto his lap.
"I'm here, baby," he whispered, beginning to rock you, "I've always been here. We've always been here. You just have to let us be here for you."
Leaning back, you unwrapped yourself from his arms. "B-But I wanted to handle this on my own. I-I wanted to be independent, like Neteyam and Lo'ak always are."
Jake's gaze softened as he tilted his head, caressing your cheek. "Sometimes problems get too big for you to handle by yourself, babygirl," he cooed patiently, "That's when you come and ask for help. And your brothers don't do everything on their own. They're just discreet when coming to me to clean up their messes."
You sniffled, lowering your gaze. Jake cupped your other cheek, forcing you to look up at him. "Tell me what's going on, baby."
Sniffling heavily and hiccuping, you struggled to get words out. "Everyday, the other kids gang up on me and insult me for being . . ."
You looked down at your hands and your five fingers. Jake closed his eyes before nodding in understanding.
"When it was only that, it was fine. The insults hurt, but things remained mellow, so I tried not to let it bother me. I figured I could handle it myself," you continued, "but when I stopped reacting, things escalated."
He creased his eyebrows in concern, urging you to continue.
"They began to get physical, trying to find a way to instigate a reaction from me, egging me on. Insulting you. They would coax me into fights, but I-I'm not like Neteyam and Lo'ak, Daddy, I'm not a fighter," you stressed.
Jake shook his head, still cupping your cheeks. "I know. I know you aren't, swe--"
"Mom is tough, but I just don't have it in me, yet."
"You don't have to defend yourself to me, sweet girl," he replied gently, "I'm on your side here." He paused for a moment, processing everything you'd told him, thus far. "So, they've put their hands on you?"
You broke his gaze before nodding. "Forced me into fights, then forced me to fight . . ."
"To fight . . ?" Jake urged, tilting your head up again.
You squeezed your eyes shut, holding back a sob. "Forced me to go after the forest animals, even when it's dangerous."
Jake's eyes widened. You hadn't even crafted your own bow and arrow yet. How could you possibly take on forest animals?
"I'd been trying to handle it--make them stop on my own terms. Stand up for myself, like Teyam and Lo'ak. But there's always a group."
You hesitated before speaking again. "They pulled me out farther into the forest and forced me to agitate a thanator."
Jake, who had briefly looked down, jerked his head up. "They forced you to what?"
"It's all a game to them. It's how I got . . ."
Pulling up part of your skirt, you revealed a relatively long scratch on your upper thigh. "I got away, though."
Horror crossed his expression as he lightly ran his index finger over the faded scar.
In his mind, all Jake could think about were his own experiences with a thanator, including his encounter with one on his first day in Pandora. To think of his baby girl in that same situation . . .
It took all of his willpower to suppress his growl. "I need names."
When you hesitated, Jake cupped your face, once again. "Y/N. Names."
"Daddy, I don't want this to turn into a huge situation," you begged.
"The moment these punks put their hands on you," Jake replied, his tone growing fierce, "It turned into a situation. That's not even mentioning them putting you in a life-or-death situation for their own amusement."
You flinched briefly at Jake's raised voice, feeling more tears coming on. He immediately caught it and softened his expression.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, baby, shhhh," he hushed you, pulling you to him again, "I'm not upset with you, sweetheart. I'm just highly upset with these punks, and this whole situation."
You wrapped your arms around his neck, digging your face into his hair. "Shhhh," he hushed you again, cupping your head, "I'm just so glad that you told me. This ends now."
Noticing that you were still shaking harshly from your sobs, Jake squeezed you tighter. "I just need the names, babygirl, and then you won't have to worry about this again. Your mother, your brothers, and I, will take care of it."
Nodding into the crook of his neck, you raised your lips to his ear, reciting the names of everyone who had wronged you. Jake took in every word, committing each name to memory.

Tumblr media
You watched your siblings play in the water with the Metkayina siblings as they learned of their ways. You were just sat on the woven material of the Marui, a material that acted as a 'blanket' that your friends from back home weaved draped over your lap.
Tuktirey nears you, panting heavily as she tugs on your tail softly. She wipes off the water that irritated her face, giving you her signature big smile. "Come on, (name)! Swim with us!" She cheers.
At her sentence, the attention of your brothers and the two Metkayina siblings was caught. "Yeah, sis!" Lo'ak splashed around the water childishly, accidentally splashing on Tsireya in the process.
"What? Do you not know how to swim?" Ao'nung questions, getting on your nerves. Tsireya gives him a scolding glare, and then turns to you with a sweet smile.
"Come with us, (name), I will be teaching you if you have any problems." She states, looking up at you as your face scrunched up.
"I– i don't know, I think it's just best if I stay here."
Neteyam shakes his head, his braids moving at his actions. "Father will be mad if he learns you didn't spend the day learning, sister. He's gonna give you one of his big lectures again." He says, stating the obvious.
You blew raspberries, making Tuktirey giggle. Groaning, you stood up from your sitting position and went back to the direction of your home.
Neteyam pursed his lips as Tuk whined at you as you walked away. Tsireya looks at Lo'ak with a confused face, slightly worried for you. "Will she not be joining us? Maybe something is bothering her." She asks out of concern.
Lo'ak was about to respond to her despite not knowing why as well, before he heard the sound of loud thudding footsteps. The rest turns to see you jump in their direction, leaving them to scramble away as you jumped recklessly into the water.
Neteyam and Tuktirey cheers as you did so while you hurriedly went up the water to come up for air. "Yay! You did it!" Tuktirey praises, swimming towards you and wrapping her legs around your waist as she clung onto you like a koala.
You chuckled, "I haven't even done anything yet."
"Yeah, but you joined us." Lo'ak gently hits the back of your head, and you hissed at him playfully. Tsireya smiles at the scene as Ao'nung tried his best not to role his eyes.
"Come now, you four have still lots to learn!"
"Four?" You questioned, tilting your head. "Where's Kiri?"
"Not again."
"Again?" You exclaimed incredulously, looking at Neteyam with wide eyes. What does he mean again?
"Don't worry guys, Kiri is right here!" Your group hears a voice from a distance. You turn to see a boy frantically waving his hands in the air as kiri laughed at him, and you sighed in relief.
"Keep an eye on that girl, why don't you?" You clicked your tongue and Neteyam, and he playfully salutes at your orders.
Tumblr media
The sound of knife chopping on your families dinner ingredients filled the silence as you helped your mother with preparing. You have been drained from earliers activities, and your muscles were definitely sore.
You were thankful Tsireya was patient with you when her brother wasn't, or else you would've given up right then and there. You appreciated the girl, and you had taken a liking towards her. She was definitely good in teaching, her words and examples were well, but you had wished she told you about the pressures of the water when you rode your first Ilu.
Thankfully you weren't embarrassed like how your brother was.. you felt bad for him though.
Your mother, Neytitri noticed your unusual silence and stopped her chopping, looking at you suspiciously. "Is there something the matter, child?" She questioned, hiding her concern.
You let out a sigh, your harsh and hasty knife chopping slightly faltering at her acknowledgement. "I miss our home, ma." You told her, after a few beats of silence.
Your mother let's out a deep exhale, moving towards you to comfortingly rub circles on your back. Your shoulders slumped at her actions, finding her ways of reassurance nice. "I know, ma dear. But you know your father's intentions, you of all your siblings would understand." She says in a low voice.
"At least Tuk is enjoying it here." You blew raspberries, going back to chopping. Neytiri fondly smiles at your words, her hand switched from your back and on to your shoulder.
"What do you miss of our home?" She questioned.
And without missing a beat, you answered. "Everything." You said. You glanced at her, eyeing her reactions.
"It's gonna be hard to adjust for now, ma dear. But I promise you, you're going to fit just right in." Your mother spoke, tucking a strand of your hair behind your ear. You softly smiled at her, leaning your head on her chest. Her hand holds you there, whispering sweet nothings into your ear as she comforts you.
At the corner of her eye, she sees a tall blue figure standing at the opening of there house. She turns to see her husband looking at them fondly, and she smiles at him.

Part 10.
“When I first met your father, I was trying to kill him” his mother laughed nuzzling his father.
“It was love at first sight”
Everyone laughed and held each other close.
Neteyam was smiling. He loved his family so much. He felt weird though, like he was here with his family but somewhere else. He saw you approaching, Y/n, he always thought you were pretty.
“Hey! Why wasn’t I invited?” You whined, your parents right behind you wanting to congratulate the Sully’s on their newest edition. Tuktirey.
“She’s beautiful.” Your mother spoke.
Neteyam thought you were the beautiful one. But you were so annoying. You were always getting his siblings in trouble. Whenever he told you, Kiri, and Lo’ak not to run off, you would stick your tongue out at him and call him a fun killer.
There was one time though. You had been searching for Lo’ak and Kiri to play, but they were off with his parents. You walked into the hut and saw him there. He could see the disappointment on your face. Was he really that bad?
“H-hi,” he stuttered, anxiously
“Hello Neteyam.” You greeted him with a smile. His nine-year-old year heart felt like it was going to beat out of his chest with that smile.
“Is Lo’ak and Kiri around to play?” You shifted your weight from your left and right leg, a wave of nervousness came over you. He was staring at you so intently.
“No.” He frowned
“Oh okay let me kn-“ he cut you off, a rush of confidence surging.
“Why don’t we play together?” He spoke fast; he was hoping you would say yes. He felt like he could barely play anymore, constantly being whisked away with his parents to do Olo’eyktan training.
“Ah yeah. Okay” you weren’t sure if he would be any fun, but it was better than waiting around.
Neteyam’s heart soared. You wanted to play with him. You ran into the hut and grabbed his hand, sprinting off to the woods. He was so happy you were holding his hand that he didn’t care where you were going.
The two of you had a great afternoon playing on the trees and splashing around in the water near a waterfall. You decided to take a break and were sitting on a tree branch.
“Why don't you play with us more often?” you asked him. He actually wasn't too bad.
“Well, I have to learn to be the next Olo’eytkan, so I don't have time to play.” he looked down at the ground.
“Is it hard?” you tilted your head. He wouldn't meet your gaze.
“Uh yeah. A lot to remember. I just don't want disappoint my parents.” although he was young, he already felt like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders. You hesitantly placed a hand on his shoulder.
“Well you're always perfect Neteyam. So you don't need to worry about that. Even if you aren't, I think your mom and dad will still love you.” you tried to comfort him, saying the first thing that came to your head. He slowly looked over at you. You had no idea how much he needed to hear those words. Your eyes looked so pretty and he couldn't stop starting.
“Uh, Thanks.” he shrugged, breaking eye contact. He didn't want you to see how you made his head spin. As the eclipse started to near, he insisted the two of you to go back. He smiled the whole time.
When you walked into camp Lo’ak and Kiri we're back. He saw your eyes light up and followed your gaze. Lo’ak. He noticed you seemed to be attached to him like a magnet. Maybe one day you could look at him like that.
You turned around and studied him for a second. Today was actually very nice and you had a good time playing with him. Maybe he wasn't such a fun killer.
“This was fun; Bye Neteyam.” and you ran off. He was sad; your day together was over. His nine-year-old heart was broken while he stared at you and Lo’ak.
...
You and Tsireya screamed for help. It was dark now. Neteyam was losing a lot of blood. He was mumbling unconscious now.
“Let’s play together,” he mumbled.
Some Metkayina came out to help you. Tonowari one of them.
“Where is everyone else?” but when his eyes dropped to see Neteyam and all the blood. He sprung into action.
“Help me get the boy to the sky people!” he had never seen a wound like Neteyam’s.
“Keep pressure on his wound!” you ordered, and someone did. You ran behind them as they carried Neteyam to Norm and Max.
“Neteyam! What happened,” he asked you.
You started to cry again, the stress and the severity of the situation hits you again. Norm shook you.
“Y/n, I can't help him if you can't tell me what happened.”
“B-bullet wound.” you choked.
“Max! Bullet to the upper chest.” he examined Neteyam. “The bullet is inside. We need to preform surgery.”
“Surgery?” you questioned, you saw Max with a knife and he cut Neteyam. In that moment Neteyam woke up and started to yell.
“We need anesthesia!” Max called to Norm
“What are you doing!” you screamed. They were making it worse. They were hurting him. Norm grabbed you and pulled you outside.
“Y/n, this is what is going to save his life. Trust us. Stay out here” he ran back in.
You fell to the ground and sobbed. Your Neteyam. He was in pain. It was all your fault. if you hadn't left him, he would not have returned for you and gotten shot.
...
Your parents had just died. You didn't smile, laugh, or even want to eat. Everyone was worried. Neteyam would steal glances at you during dinner. Your meal in front of you hadn't even been touched. He desperately wanted you to be happy again. You couldn’t stare at your food anymore and excused yourself. Neteyam watched as you left. He was mad at Lo’ak; he had barely talked to you since your parents passed. Who was there to comfort you?
He stood up and followed you out. He quietly watched as you wandered into the woods and climbed up a tree. He didn’t notice it was the tree you had climbed together many years ago.
You jumped when you saw him. “Neteyam. Hi.”
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.” He felt shy. He hasn’t been alone with you for a while. Here and there you were alone in the hut together but wouldn’t really speak besides small talk. You were 14 now, each year you became more beautiful.
He sat down, he didn’t want to ask how you were. He knew you weren’t doing well. “What are you doing up here?” He gazed at you. You looked beautiful. He started to panic a-little when your eyes teared up.
“I come here to get away. Everyone in the clan looks at me and asks if I’m okay and I appreciate it. But I just want to forget. I want to pretend like it didn't happen.” You force the tears back. Refusing to cry. Like all those years ago, except this time it was Neteyam who placed a hand on your shoulder.
“Y/n, You’re one of the strongest people I know. Especially since you can put up with Lo’ak and Kiri.” You laugh at that. Neteyam’s eyes soften he hadn’t heard that beautiful laugh in weeks. “You are going to get though this. Maybe right now you’re not ready to face it, but one day you will. Take all the time you need.”
His smile was so soft, eyes staring straight into yours. When did Neteyam get so handsome? You thought to yourself. You took a deep breath. This was Neteyam not Lo’ak. Your heart belonged to Lo’ak. But you couldn’t help but feel your heart twitch. What he said to you was exactly what you needed to hear. For the first time since your parents died, you felt a little peace, maybe it was because Neteyam said what you needed to hear or because he was sitting right next to you.
“Thank you Neteyam.” You threaded your fingers between his. Neteyam stopped breathing. He hoped one day this would be a regular thing for the two of you. He didn’t know when he started to fall for you, was it six years ago? Today? All he knew was that his heart belonged to you and only you. You had been the only one he had ever noticed.
You both sat there for a while, hand in hand. Watching the forest. He made you laugh a couple more times and continued to talk about things. You asked him how Olo’eyktan training was going. You told him stories of you, Kiri and Lo’ak’s adventures. Some of them he didn’t like as you had put yourself in danger. You bumped his shoulder with your arm telling him to not be such a fun killer.
He grabbed your arm trapping it. “Someone has to make sure you’re safe” his eyes bore into yours. Always so intense. You blushed and pulled your arm out of his grip.
“You know I can protect myself” you crossed your arms playfully.
“Well, just know. If you ever need protecting. I’ll always be here” you didn’t realize it at the time but for Neteyam, it had a double meaning. Of course, he would always protect you. But even if you chose Lo’ak over him one day. He would always been there. Waiting for the day you noticed him.
You raised your head out of your arms when you heard movement in the hut.
“He’s stable. Still unconscious. We will wait to see if he wakes up.” Norm says quietly, him and max walk out. It had taken all night to preform the surgery. The sun started to rise. The Sully’s hadn’t come back yet either, and you were debating on going out to find them. But you couldn’t leave Neteyam. You looked up at the sky.
“Please Great mother. Don’t take them from me. Please, they are all I have left.” You cried.
Tsireya came up to you hearing your words.
“Y/n, no matter what. You will always have the Metkayina and me.” She hugged you tightly. “The great mother will never abandon you Y/n. I have hope they will be alright”
Through the tears your peered up at the horizon. Your prayers were then answered. You saw them. All of them. Tuk, Kiri, Lo’ak, Jake and Neytiri all on Payakan. They were alright. Your body relaxed a little.
“Go, make sure they are okay please. I’m going to stay with Neteyam.” You walked into the hut.
He was hooked up to some machines with a big bandage wrapped around him. You kneeled down next to him and took his hand.
“Neteyam, please come back to me.”
He was breathing very faintly. You could see his chest rise and fall.
“I need you. You understand me more than anyone. You snuck your way into my heart and created a permanent mark forever. You’re the most important person to me. You calm me, you make me feel safe, you’re my protector. If you're gone, who will protect me. You said you would always protect me.” tears fall onto him, and you push away some hair on his forehead. He saved your life today, he had done his job of protecting.
“Neteyam, please, baby, come back to me” you pressed your face into his hand.
You jumped back when you felt his finger twitch.
“Neteyam?!” your chest was rapidly falling up and down.
“Y-Yn?” he eyes were fluttering open. He started to sit up but instantly regretted it. Wincing in pain.
“No, no, lay down.” you helped guide him back down
“Are you okay? Our family? Is everyone okay,” he was panicking a little. The last thing he remembered was you telling him he was okay on the ilu with Tsireya.
“Yes, Neteyam. Everyone is safe.” more tears rushed down your cheeks. You were so happy he was okay.
“You scared the shit out of me! Never ever do that again.” a burst of anger came out. “I can't lose you”
He reached a hand up to cup your face and wipe away some tears.
“I could never leave you; there are still so many things I want to experience with you in this life.” he hated to make to you cry. He continued speaking, you listened holding onto his hand.
“But I would do it all again if it meant I could keep you safe. You almost died, Y/n. Right in front of me. I had never been more scared than at that moment. I thought I was going to lose you”
He was scared when he felt then pain of the bullet, but was comforted at the fact that you would be alright. That was all he cared about. You being safe.
He started to cry. “I'll always be here. I'll never leave your side. You own my heart, my body, and my soul Neteyam. I love you.” it was the first time you said I love you. His ears twitched.
“I love you too.” he moved his hand from your cheek to your neck and pulled you towards him. You placed a hand on each side of his face and brought your lips to his.
You kissed him, and you swear you saw stars. He kissed you deeper, his hand gripping your hair wanting you closer.
“W-we can't do this right now.” you pulled away breathlessly. “You're injured; you need rest.”
“As much as I hate to stop this right now, you are right.” he gave you one more kiss and let you go.
You turned your head slightly, hearing noise approaching the hut. It was your family. You stood up, and Tuk ran into your arms.
“How is he?” Jake looked from you to Neteyam and dropped to his knees. His son was okay. Neytiri dropped next to him.
“My son, you are alright.” she caressed his head.
Neteyam smiled, growing tired. “I'm glad you are all okay.”
Lo’ak and Kiri hugged you tightly. The three of you holding each other. Thanking Ewya that everyone had returned safely.
Neytiri kissed your head and Jake hugged.
“I-I’m sorry I didn't stay, but I couldn't leave him.”
They looked at you and passed a knowing look to each other. This confirmed their suspicions that you were in love with Neteyam.
“Y/n, we couldn't thank you enough for being there with him. We understand; Lo’ak and Kiri saved the day.” you turned to them surprised. They stood there with their arms crossed, proud looks on their faces
“The great mother was the real hero of the day though.” Kirk bent down and grabbed Neteyam’s hand. “Without her, you wouldn't be alive. She helped us in our darkest moment and helped bring light to the depths of the sea to help guide us out from the boat.”
“Wow.” that's all you could say. You would have to ask for the full story later. Right now, you were just happy to have your family back.
When you and Neteyam told Jake and Neytiri about the two of you. They were so happy. It was a few days after Neteyam was cleared to start moving around again, and you walked into the hut one morning holding hands, asking if they had a second to talk.
“I am in love with Y/n; I know we are young, but there is no force on Pandora that will keep me from her.” he spoke sincerely.
Jake and Neytiri smiled; they knew this would happen one day where you ended up with one of their boys.
Neytiri always thought it was going to be Lo’ak but when she saw how you looked at her son, she knew he was the one for you.
Jake was happy as well, you were a great pair and complimented each other perfectly. Neteyam would hold you back from your impulsiveness and recklessness; you would remind Neteyam to have fun and break the rules once in a while. A perfect balance.
“We are so happy for the two of you, just no children yet okay?” Jake smirked
The both of you frantically told them no. Although one day in the future, you both wanted to experience being parents together.
...
Kiri was so happy for you.
“We really are sisters now.” you hugged her.
“We were always sisters; now you are just stuck with one of my brothers forever.” you giggled at this and hugged her tighter; you loved Kiri so much.
“Have you two already kissed?” she started shooting multiple questions at you. “Did you already say I love you? Have you mated?! Are you pregnant.” you tackled her.
“Oh cut it out!” you both rolled around laughing.
...
It had been a couple of weeks since the battle. Neteyam was healing perfectly and would be able to swim and dive soon. It was early in the morning, you were practicing in the shallow water.
“Just take it slow.” you guided him through the water. He was trying to do it all on his own but it was still a lot for him.
“Let me go, I can do it. Please” his voice firm but gentle.
“Okay...” you knew he was going to sink and prepared to help him. Watching him swim to a deeper area.
Just as you predicted he couldn't keep himself afloat for long, and he started to lose strength. You helped pull him to the shallow end and he sat down.
“Ugh! This is going to take forever.” he huffed slapping the water with his arms, even though that hurt a little.
“Neteyam” you soothed him, “Norm told you had to build the muscle back up and strength slowly. It is going to take time.” you swung a leg over his waist. He placed his hands on your thighs, enjoying your new position on top of him.
“I will help you every step of the way.” you kissed the scar on the top of his chest. It reminds you to love him and appreciate him more every day. A permanent reminder of a time, you almost lost him forever.
“If we take breaks just like this, maybe it won't be so bad.” he watched the water drip down your chest. You tilted his chin back up to look into your eyes and blushed.
“Tsireya will be here soon.” you tried to stand up but he held you against him.
“Nete-” he cut you off, kissing you.
You started to make-out and he gripped your waist. Your hands felt his strong arms and deepened the kiss. Before it got more heated a voice made you break apart. It was Tsireya and Lo’ak they were walking down to you hand in hand.
“Cut it out before anyone see’s” Lo’ak rolled his eyes. He wasn't bothered by the two of you. If anything, he was happy. He was so in love with Tsireya and glad for his brother.
You laughed and helped pull Neteyam to his feet. He wrapped his arms around your waist, placing his head on your shoulder.
“Good morning Y/n and Neteyam” Tsireya polite as ever greeted you two. You couldn’t help but grin with happiness.
It was the end of the day, and training all day not only wiped Neteyam out but also you.
“I am not looking forward to having to do that all again tomorrow” he groaned and buried his head in your neck. He loved when you sat between his legs. You loved it, too, his body wrapped around you.
You couldn't believe how far the two of you had come. It had been months since you arrived at the Metkayina clan. Leaving the forest was hard and you missed it, you missed your parents and your old life. But you wouldn't trade it for what you found here and who you became: So much has changed. You had changed so much.
“It feels like a dream doesn't it?” he spoke softly, it was as if he read your mind
“Yes. Yes, it does.”
“ For so long I’ve loved you Y/n. To think you are finally mine is a dream. When I was unconscious, I remembered that day we had together when we were little. We played together and you told that I was always perfect and my parents would still love me, even if I wasn't” you turned to look at him, his expression loving and his eyes looked straight into yours like always. Intensely.
“You have no idea how much I needed to hear that and how significant that was, we were so young yet you claimed my heart already. I might have started to fall in love that day. I also remembered when your parents died, and we climbed up the same tree we had before and talked. Again” he looked down at you, his hand pushing away a loose strand of hair in your face.
“I remember that day. You told me that it was okay if I didn't grieve in that moment, you didn't ask me if I was okay or how I was doing. You have no idea how much that meant to me. That was the first time I started to see you.” you gripped each side of his face and planted a firm but loving kiss on his lips.
His arms glided up and down your body; they finally rested on your waist and cheek.
“I see and love you Y/n” you melted at the way he looked at you.
“I see and love you too, Neteyam.” he could listen to you say that all day, all your life.
“Y/n, I promise to love you, protect you and support you everyday of our lives until the day Ewya decides its time for us to leave this world. I thank her everyday that she brought me you. That we left our home and we gained another in each other. Everyday I fall more in love with you” he pressed his head against your forehead
You smiled tenderly at him.
“Neteyam, I can't imagine my life without you. I can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together and face any challenges with you by my side.” you press against him.
“And I can't wait to show you how much I love you, each and everyday”
Neteyam plants a soft kiss on your forehead, then moves to cheek, neck and finally arrives at your lips. You feel your muscles turn into liquid. You love the way he kisses you. Marking you as his, telling you how much he loves you in between breaths.
“We’re going to have to stop before I end up laying you down on this sand.” He breaks the kiss and touches your swollen lips with his finger. You take his hand and kiss the top of his fingers, looking straight at him.
Neteyam watched in awe, how did he get so lucky. He takes a deep breath, breaks eye contact, and pulls his hand out of your grasp. If you kept doing that you really would end up down on the sand.
You giggled knowing what you had just done to him.
“You are evil” he groaned and squeezes you
“Let's watch the sunset and then head to dinner.” you his pat his face and turn around getting comfy again.
“Whatever you want to do. You know I'll follow you.” he kissed your ear.
You sighed happily; you knew that no matter what happened. You would be okay. Because you had Neteyam by your side.
...
The End! I can't believe I finished! I'm so happy and hope you all enjoyed this story! I have proof read it yet, but I will later. I just wanted to share it now. Thank you so much for all the support on this series! If anyone knows how to link parts and make a master list please help me!

Fem! Omatikaya x Tuk(PLATONIC)
Where the reader is tuks bestie, she is Poppiti. And how the reader reacts when they have to leave.
Time skip to when Tuk and her are older, the Sully’s finally come back. And she sees how she’s changed how she’s like a lone wolf and stuff, or how she’s gotten new friends and forgot about her. But the matching thing they wear is something Y/n always wears.🫧
DOES THIS MAKE SENSE?!
PROMISE ANKLET
Tuktirey x Child!reader (platonic)
Masterlist
Warning: Crying. Separation. Angst WITH comfort. I cannot stress this enough children at that age do not really understand that it isn’t their friend’s choices to leave them so the reader will be angry at Tuk but will grow to understand!
Translations: pänu- promise; uniltìrantokx- dreamwalkers; tsamsä'o- weapons of war; kelku- home; pawk- horn; Mawey- calm
Word count: 612
Note: I literally love this, we need more tuk x readers (PLATONIC) out there. Also this background Omatikaya is so CUTE OMG
Tumblr media
Four years have slipped by like a dream since I last laid eyes Tuk, my dearest friend. Leaving me longing for the familiar comfort of her presence every day for the last four years.
Then, today the sound of the pawk echoed through the while village, signaling a return. No hunting party had ventured out, yet there was an unmistakable call of homecoming.
As the Olo'eytkan, Tarsem, emerges from his kuru, "Mawey, my people, mawey." he announces, drawing the attention of the gathering crowd near the ikrans.
Drawing closer, my heart pounds with anticipation, then I see them– the Sullys. A surge of emotion washes over me as I realise that among those returning, is Tuk.
Tumblr media
As we reached the top of the tree, Tuk's voice trembled as she spoke, "Taw, I heard my mom and dad fighting. They said we need to leave this clan. To seek uturu from another."
Confusion swirled inside me. "Uturu? Why? There's no war," I said, searching her eyes for answers.
Tuk leaned close, her voice barely a whisper, as if what she was about to tell me was a forbidden secret, "Yesterday, Lo'ak, Spider, Kiri and I saw uniltìrantokx, out there in the forest with tsamsä'o."
Reality crashed on me like a falling tree. "So now you have to leave..?" I asked, my heart sinking with each word.
Tears welled up as I leaped down from the tree, sprinting toward my kelku. Tuks footsteps echoing behind me.
Rushing into the kelku, tears streaming down my cheeks. I ran up to my sa'nok who was peacefully weaving a basket before Tuk and I barged in. "What happened to our pänu, Tuk? That we'd never leave each other!" I choked out between sobs.
"You have the audacity to wear a pänutìng you can't even keep!" I accused, pointing at her ankle and then at mine.
"It is final, my dad said." Tuk sobbed, reaching out to me.
"You said we'd always be best friends," I stammered, tears burning my vision as I looked at Tuk.
"We are. We always will be. As long as you and I both have these anklets." Tuk reassured pulling me into a hug.
"You promise you wont–" before I could finish my question, one of Tuks siblings called her away to pack.
As Tuk rushed over to Kiri, I felt a hand on my shoulder turning around I was met with the soft gaze of my kneeling sa'nok.
"Come Taw, she might be leaving. But your memories will stay for life." she said as I cried into her neck.
The next day was the day the Sully's had left, the day Tuk left me behind.
Watching as the family walks past everyone and onto their ikrans, my gaze meets Tuks.
I watched as Neytiri's hand went to push to toward me, encouraging a goodbye. I raised my hands up toward my mother and got carried by her, nestling my face into her neck breaking eye contact. A sign I did not wish to speak to her.
Tumblr media
My eyes lock onto Tuk's, my childhood best friend, and it's like she's been waiting for me too. Quickly I glance at her foot, searching for the familiar anklet, a symbol of our bond.
There it is, still clinging onto her ankle, just like mine. Relief flood through me as I meet her gaze again, and she's smiling, knowing exactly what I'm thinking.
"You kept our promise." we say together, rushing into each others arms. Wrapping in each others embrace.
Little did we know there were two people watching us, happy to see both their children reunited, knowing this friendship would last a life time.

Lo’ak liked the fact she was patient and motherly to him, opting to always have his sisters back. Neteyam was more of Ney’ite’s headache. He was constantly wanted to follow her around , looking like a lost puppy despite the pair only being a year apart. Neteyam always had his sisters back despite them constantly bickering.

When everyone is busy, Ite takes Tuk around the forest telling her stories of the infamous Toruk Makto , their father. Tuk loves spending time with her eldest sister and follows her around all the time, bursting into tears when ite tells her she can’t come on this adventure cause she could get hurt. Kiri and Ney’ite were a force to be reckoned with. Talk about scary big sister privilege. Ney’ite felt very spiritually connected to her sister, although they were not blood related. Kiri tells Ney’ite all about her plans for the future while Ney’ite pats her head. Kiri loved her big sister and Ney’ite loved her even more.

In the Heat of the Moment | Part 2
Jake Sully was thankful for the late hours of the night as he walked to a clearing to wash (Y/N)’s scent off his body. As much as he wanted to bask in the intoxicating smell of the young woman, he could not go back to his nest with her aroma on his skin.
Pretend. That’s what he needed to do. He would pretend he had not felt her skin; that he had not kissed her supple lips; that he’d not tasted her; that he’d not felt how she clenched around him; that he had
“So, how was (Y/N)?” Lo’ak startled Jake as the man walked into his family’s tent. “You were gone for some time.”
“And you guys are still up?”
“We couldn’t fall asleep until you came back,” Kiri explained. “How is she?”
“Well, she was a bit sad,” he explained, taking a spot on the ground. His children were quick to crowd him, worry for their sister-in-law evident in their yellow eyes. “You know, it’s the first time Neteyam is away for so long and she’s having a hard time with it. But I, uh, calmed her down and she’s resting right now. (Y/N) might not be out too much these days but I’m sure once your mom and Neteyam come back everything will go back to normal.”
Jake didn’t know if he was saying that to convince his children or to convince himself. There would come a point where everything had to go back to how it was. For each person to go back to their respective mates and continue their families. Everything back to normal.
Normal.
What was their normal?
How could he go back to a normal where he couldn’t feel her? Back to where he couldn’t kiss her or touch her?
Back to normal.
Where he was the dutiful husband of Neytiri, the tsakarem of their clan. A proud father to Neteyam, Kiri, Lo’ak, and Tuktirey. The Olo’eyktan of the Omatikaya clan. Toruk Macto. The father-in-law of (Y/N), wife to his firstborn.
That was his normal. That was her normal. Their normal.
“I got these feathers for (Y/N), daddy,” Tuk said as her father laid her to rest. “Do you think I can take them to her tomorrow?”
“Tell you what,” he smiled. Opportunity. “Since she’s still a bit sad, why don’t I take them to her? I’ll go visit her first thing in the morning and take them there. Later on, I’ll tell her to come by so you can braid them into her hair. How does that sound?”
“That’s perfect, daddy.”
It was perfect.
***
Neteyam.
Neteyam.
Neteyam.
His name pounded in (Y/N)’s head, pulling sleep from her body. Neteyam. It reverberated loudly inside her mind. It flowed from her head to the tip of her toes. His name rushed through her as naturally as the blood in her veins, as necessary as the air in her lungs. He was the whisper from Eywa when she had been asking for a miracle.
The miracle she had thrown away for a night of passion.
A night with her miracle’s father.
She loved her husband. Her heart had and would always belong to him, that is what Eywa had established. Yet, she could not forget the events of the night before. The warmth between her legs ached for someone else. It ached for Jake Sully.
The touch of his hands lingered on her skin, the marks on her body only a momentary memento of the things she had felt. The only testament that the night had happened – for now. She could feel his breath on hers, how full he made her feel, how good he’d made her feel.
“Help me, Great Mother,” (Y/N) breathed as she decided to ready herself for the day, regardless of how early it was. Not even the early risers were awake at that hour, but slumber did not find her.
But it was hard.
The yearning she felt was overtaking. Her knees felt weakened, her breathing was shallow, her head buzzing. All she wanted – all she needed – was one more time with him. Just one more and she could get him out of her system. One more and she could teach her own husband what she needed.
Yet, all she could think of was the firmness of Jake’s muscles pressed against her, his tongue on her core, his hands on her breasts, his hardness stretching her insides. It was enough to have her plopping down on her mattress and snake her hand between her thighs to find any sort of relief.
“Well, isn’t this a welcoming surprise?”
Jake’s voice startled (Y/N), a sense of deja vu flushing over her. He stood at the entrance of her nest, the flap tight in one hand and a bundle of feathers in the other. But what had her clenching her legs together was the mischievous grin that spread across his face.
“S-sir,” she choked. “What are you doing here?”
“I was here to bring some feathers Tuk gathered to cheer you up,” he lied. Well, half lied. “But it seems you didn’t get enough last night.”
Without another thought, Jake closed the distance between them just as he had done the night before. He took hold of (Y/N)’s waist, placing her on his lap, her legs straddling him. He breathed in deeply, smiling as her scent filled his nostrils. He reveled in the warmth of her skin against his, his hands tracing the expanse of her body once more.
It was almost an exact replay of what had already happened, with more experience and twice the arousal.
“We-we shouldn’t do this again, ma Jake.” Her breathing was staggered. Her yellow eyes stared anywhere but into his. “Last night. It should have never happened.”
“Are you saying you don’t want it to happen again?” he teased, his brows furrowing in amusement. “Because something else I’m feeling is telling me otherwise, baby girl.”
“Please, ma Jake.”
“What’re you asking for, baby? Are begging for me to take you right now or for me to reject myself for you?” When (Y/N)’s eyes flicked up to his, his resolve broke. Jake could see the affliction behind the yellow of her irises. She was struggling with the moment they had shared together. Whether it was because she regretted it or because she was ashamed of how much she loved it, he had yet to figure it out. “Is that what you really want, (Y/N)? Do you want me to go and leave you in such a fragile state, oeyä hì’iʼawpo? I don’t think I could.”
“You are my Neteyam’s father,” she sobbed, tears darkening her blue skin. “You have your mate and so do I. You are Olo’eyktan of our clan and have enough to worry about. My pain should be just mine to bear.”
“Because I am your Olo’eyktan, that is why I care, baby girl. It is my job to make sure everyone in the tribe is taken care of.” When his attempt to lighten the mood was met with no response, he placed a comforting hand on her cheek. With the pad of his thumb, he wiped away the streams that had fallen, revealing the red hue that was overtaking her skin. “I am doing this because I care for you, little one. I know the situation is not the most… ideal. But we shouldn’t lie to ourselves. Last night shouldn’t be left as a one-time thing. At least not for the rest of the week. You won’t make it, baby.”
He dipped his free hand under her loincloth, his fingers swiping at her wetness. At the contact, (Y/N)’s head fell onto the crook of his neck, the suddenness of the contact overwhelming her quickly in her state.
“Tell me, right now, to leave you, ma (Y/N) and I will,” he whispered against her ear, the fingers between her legs slowly working the sensitive bundle of nerves there. “Tell me to go and I will.”
“I… I…”
“Tell me, (Y/N). Right now.”
When he stopped his movements, (Y/N) found herself forced to stare back into his eyes, the lust overload she felt flooded her slowly at first, then all at once. And whatever force that overtook her had her slamming her lips onto the older man’s, savoring the taste she had first discovered mere hours before.
“Don’t go,” she whispered. It took all the strength in her body to admit it out loud. To admit that regardless of her love for Neteyam, her body was asking for another man. “Please, don’t go.”
The way her voice came out in whimpers and her chin quivered warmed Jake’s heart. He smiled at her teary eyes, his fingers tracing gingerly the features of her face. At that moment he could see her lack of experience — in life, in relationships, in sex.
“Okay, sevin. I’ll stay,” he smiled. “Now, tell me what it is that you want, baby girl.”
“I want you to make me feel like you did last night,” she purred. “I want you to fuck me until I can’t move.”
“Careful what you wish for, little one.”
Jake placed his hands on either side of her face, pulling her in for a rough kiss. The mere contact was enough to siphon a whimper from her. It was a mixture of surprise and the desire that had already cemented itself in her very core. She had not known she would ever yearn for this man, not this strongly.
Her body reacted to every touch from his body. It erupted in shivers as electricity coursed through her limbs. The warmth inside her whispered his name softly, rushing through her like a wild river. There was a version of her that had only been born when Jake Sully came into her nest the night before. Something inside her had ignited after the first touch and it had not smothered down.
(Y/N) snaked her arms around his neck, pushing her body flush against his. Their kiss was rushed and feverish, teeth banging and a mess of tongues. It was just as hungry as it had been the night before, but they were not the same. They had heard each other’s sounds, tasted each other, and felt each other. Even if the moment was, in essence, the same as the night before, they were not.
“There’s something I want to do,” (Y/N) panted, resting her forehead against his. “Something we did not get to do last night.”
“Mmm, and what is that, little one?” he chuckled. “We did just about everything.”
The girl climbed down from his lap as his eyes tracked her every movement. On her face, a devilish grin stretched across her lips. She fell to her knees as she undid Jake’s loincloth, revealing his already hard member. The dark blue tip glistened with precum, a testament to what she did to him.
She positioned herself between his legs, spreading them with her hands to gain full access to the man. His body tensed as her lips grazed the skin of his thighs, leaving wet marks as she worked her way to her prize.
The younger woman grinned as she saw the way his breathing quickened, his chest rising and falling at a fast pace. She brought one hand to the shaft, using a finger to gather his wetness to spread it onto his length. (Y/N) stroked him gingerly, preparing him for the attack she had planned. She memorized every ridge and vein that protruded on his cock, his length, and his thickness. She committed to memory every spot that made his leg twitch. She cemented in her head every touch that made his breath hitch.
Then, as Jake started growing used to the feeling of her hand, she grabbed the base of his cock and placed a delicate kiss on the darker head. The heat from her plump lips was enough to bring Jake close to his release. It was unexpected and far too thrilling.
She then parted her lips, stretching her mouth to fit the tip of his member inside. Her tongue swirled around the head, making sure to taste the expanse of the skin. (Y/N) smiled as Jake’s head fell back, a moan escaping his throat.
She had only done this a couple of times. It was one of the only things Neteyam and her had done before they had mated before Eywa. Even if she did not know much about what she was doing, she was sure she was good enough at it. She enjoyed how he clenched his hands on her sheets, the way the muscles of his chest tightened as well. She basked in the movement of his midriff, the rising and falling as he took in quick breaths.
“Fu~uck,” he groaned out. “You are something else, (Y/N).”
With a chuckle that reverberated across his body, (Y/N) took more of him inside her mouth. She worked slowly and deliberately, growing used to the stretch in her jaw. It was more than she had ever taken – he was more.
Despite the aching that was building in her mouth, she took him deeper, her tongue pressed against him. She went farther and farther until she felt him reach the back of her throat. (Y/N) tensed as the air was cut from her lungs, but she fought against the instinct to completely take him out. Instead, she relaxed her throat and took him until her nose hit the skin of his pelvis, gagging slightly.
The burn made tears form in the corners of her eyes. Still, she bobbed her head as she hollowed her cheeks, drinking in the sounds that escaped Jake. Her tongue swirled around his skin as she slipped her mouth up and down his shaft.
Jake straightened up, his eyes fixated on the movement of the girl’s head. He pushed the braids that had fallen on her face back, stopping them from sticking to the wetness that was on her face. Her forehead glistened with beads of sweat and her chin shone from the saliva that was running down the corners of her mouth. It was an image that fueled the fire inside him, triggering his very basic primal instincts.
As much as he wanted her to continue to lead, he wanted to chase his release more. His hands tangled into her hair, gripping it just enough to make it hurt, and he started thrusting into her. He plummeted his cock into her throat, ignoring how she sputtered and choked around him.
Her eyes had started streaming with tears, growing red from the limited oxygen. Her cheeks turned a deep shade of purple, speckled with beads of sweat. Exactly the vision that Jake wanted as he savored the feeling of his length engulfed in wet heat.
“You’re doing so good, baby girl,” he groaned. “You’re taking my cock perfectly, sevin. I’m so fucking close.”
(Y/N) couldn’t do much but smile in response. As Jake fucked her mouth, all she could do was hold onto his knees for support and allow the man to use her mouth for his pleasure. She could feel herself grow wetter at the thought.
Of course, she enjoyed passion and tenderness, which is what Neteyam always provided her with. But that’s not what she wanted at that moment. She wanted the type of fucking that she could feel under her skin. The kind that left its mark on the person, both physically and emotionally. She wanted to be used and to use in response.
Jake Sully granted her that wish. Everything happened for a reason, she thought. Maybe this was an answer to another one of her prayers. Another miracle dressed in temptation and sin. If this was another message from the Great Mother, she had tentatively accepted it. It did have an expiration date, so it was now or never.
He could feel his climax peeking through. As he moved (Y/N)’s head in synch with his thrusts, he could feel the clenching from his insides begging to be released. But he also wanted to study the image between his legs. He wanted to commit to memory how she looked as she knelt in front of him, mouth stuffed of him; her glazed eyes and her downturned ears; her tail swishing excitedly behind her; her face purple from the excitement and the loss of breath. It was the most entrancing image he had seen.
“Fuck!” Jake exclaimed as he felt himself burst inside her. Unconsciously, he held her head against his pelvis, forcing her to accept every drop of his seed. As he finished, he pulled away from her mouth, her lips slick and swollen, his cock already growing harder once more. “Goddess, you’re perfect, baby girl. Come here.”
He pulled her up, her face meeting his. Jake placed a deep kiss on her lips, groaning as he tasted himself on her tongue. He wiped away the tears that had streaked down her cheeks, kissing from her mouth to her eyes, every inch of her face.
“I want you, ma Jake,” she whined as he moved down her jaw, trailing the track he had left the night before. “I’m so empty right now.”
“You’re needy today, little one,” he grinned. A chuckle escaped him as the girl coyly nodded. “Don’t worry. I won’t make you wait much.”
He slipped a hand under her, his fingers prodding at her wetness once more. “Rutxe,” she cried. “I need you now.”
“On your hands and knees then,” he commanded. “I’ll fuck you like the animal you’ve become.”
(Y/N) scattered to the mat, quick to do as told. Anticipation swelled inside her as she felt the man move behind her. First, he removed the loincloth that hid her from his eyes, exposing the drenched entrance that clenched around nothing.
He wanted to give her exactly what she was begging for. He wanted to sink into her warmth and lose himself in the feeling of her tightness. But he needed to taste her again. He needed to lap from her as his mouth grew dry. He was completely addicted.
Jake got on his knees and attacked her core. His tongue traced her slit, having her moan out at the sudden contact. He traced her from her clit to her entrance, drinking her essence as it seeped inside him. With his thumb, he circled the aching nub. And with his tongue, he probed her insides.
“Fuck, ma Jake,” she mewled. “Your tongue…”
The words died from her mouth as the man continued his attack, her arms close to giving out. His thumb glided over her clit, rolling it under the pad of his finger, as his long tongue pushed its way into her core. It thrust inside her, pumping into her over and over.
As he continued to plunge it into her, he knew she was nearing a release. The way she clenched around him, threatened to rip his tongue out of his mouth. Still, he kept ambushing her insides. He traveled her walls and pumped in and out of her core, learning the map of her body with just his mouth.
“Oh fuck, sir,” she wailed as her climax ransacked her body, her essence rushing out of her and dripping down his chin. “That was…”
“You taste just as good as yesterday,” he grinned. “Absolutely intoxicating, sevin.”
“But I still need you,” (Y/N) whined once more. “Please.”
“Alright, alright,” he chuckled. “Here I come.”
Jake gripped her hip with one hand and aligned himself with her dripping entrance. He gripped his shaft, teasing her folds with his tip. He earned a groan from (Y/N) as he passed over her aching bud, letting out a chuckle in response.
“Ma Jake,” she groaned. “Rutxe, sir.”
“Sorry, couldn’t help myself.”
Finally, he thrust into her, meeting her hips in one fell swoop, making her arms give out and her chest press against the sheets. Her tightness enveloped him completely, making him feel like he belonged there. That she had been perfectly crafted to be filled by him and only him. A fulfilling and overwhelming moment all in itself.
He plunged inside her, setting a quick pace from the beginning, his resolve chipping away as he felt her walls around him. His tail wrapped around their legs, trying to pull her closer to his body. The warmth that surrounded him felt exhilarating, the type of comfort he always craved.
Jake felt like a young and inexperienced boy as he rutted inside her, the tight coil in his stomach threatening to spill with just a couple of thrusts. It was taking everything in him not to bust quickly.
Choosing to keep his strength to finish with her, he fell on her back, his chest tightly pressed to her skin. He kept pushing into her, a hand snaking around her waist to find the bundle of nerves that would bring forth her end.
“You’re doing so good, baby girl,” he whispered into her flickering ears as his own took in her moans and whimpers. “You take me so well. Fuck. I can feel how close you are, little one. Don’t hold back.”
Working her clit as fast as he was thrusting in her had (Y/N) bursting at the same time Jake exploded, his seed once more mixing with her arousal. The thought that this moment or the one from the night before raised the chance for her belly to swell with his own offspring made Jake’s chest swell with pride. The only people who would ever know who the real father was would only be them. Their own perfect secret.
As they both came down from their orgasms, the man placed comforting kisses to (Y/N)’s face, ears, and neck. She panted under him, her body shivering as she recovered from the pleasure that shot through her.
Still intertwined, Jake fell onto the bed, cradling her body close to his. He’d promised himself the night before, no intimacy. That if he got another opportunity to be with (Y/N) that it would simply be for carnal necessities, nothing more. He could not allow himself to cross that line.
But he couldn’t bring himself to leave just yet. As exhaustion wrapped itself around the girl, he felt the need to envelop her in his arms. He pulled himself out of her as he felt his cock grow softer, earning a groan from the tired girl as she felt the emptiness inside her.
(Y/N) shifted in her sleepy state, her head landing on Jake’s chest where his heartbeat was softly lulling her into slumber, regardless of the early hours of the day. One of his arms drew shapes onto her back as the other wrapped protectively around her forearm, which was spread across his waist.
“This is wrong, isn’t it?” (Y/N) whispered softly, breaking the sleep that was taking over Jake. He could feel droplets of tears land on his chest, sure they were coming from her beautiful yellow eyes. “What we’ve done… it’s gonna tear the family apart.”
A sigh left his body. She was right. There was no best-case scenario that could come from this situation. At best, they lived with the horrible secret that they had been unfaithful to their mates. Worst case, they would be exiled and forced to live in shame for the rest of their lives.
“Don’t worry your pretty little head about that just now,” he smiled instead, looking down at the worried younger woman. “We have four more days to think of a solution.”
“But what if someone finds out before then, ma Jake? I don’t think I could live without this family.”
“You don’t have to concern yourself with things that will not happen,” Jake comforted, trying to find some truth in his words. “One thing at a time, sevin. Go to sleep, daybreak is a couple of hours away.”
“But, sir…”
“Sleep, (Y/N). I promise I’ll find a solution to this.”
She finally listened to him, fluttering her eyes closed and hugging herself closer to his chest. But she couldn’t help the worry that lived in the back of her head. (Y/N) and Jake had committed — and seemingly planned to continue to — the worst kind of betrayal they could. They had laid with each other whilst mated to other people. The worst part, she loved it.
She loved how Jake made her feel. The way he knew what she wanted, what her body needed. She enjoyed having her body used and using his. It was wrong and immoral, but so intoxicating that it blurred all reason.
(Y/N) hoped Jake could come up with a solution that would allow them to keep their mates and to partake in their “extracurricular”  activities. But she remembered a saying from the sky people Jake had taught his children when they were younger, “You can’t have your cake and eat it too.”
When he’d first said it, she had not understood its meaning. But she was finally living it.

ctto 4 the gif!
i want to know you. human!neteyam x reader (highschool AU)
what am i feeling… love or despair? (chapter three)
the next chapter may or may not have angst… u have been warned huhuhu
previous chapter…
the weekend had finally come, and you were lazing about in your room, looking at the ceiling and chewing on your lip. there had to be something to do today, besides the homework that was eating at you due to your horrible procrastination. but it could still wait a little longer, right? saturdays were not meant for homework.
suddenly kiri messaged the group chat.
keeree: guysss come over i am way 2 bored,,, let’s go to the shopping plaza downtown :-)?
that sounded interesting, so you excitedly hearted the message, letting her know you were coming. tsireya did the same soon after, meaning you would see all your friends today. you quickly got ready, not really feeling a reason to get too dressed up since you were only going to see your closest friends. you grabbed your bike and told your parents where you would be going and waved them goodbye. then you hurriedly pedaled to kiri’s home, which luckily wasn’t too far.
you saw tsireya’s car in the driveway, so you deduced that you were the last to arrive. you laid your bike on the grass and went up to ring the doorbell. lucky for you, neteyam was the one to open the door. “oh, hey (yn). my sister and tsireya are upstairs. getting ready to go?” he asked. you simply nodded and made your way in. for some reason, you didn’t expect to see him this early in the morning, especially when you were unprepared. but his face was always a pleasant sight, no matter what!
you waved hello to kiri’s parents, making sure to be polite. the youngest of the family, tuktirey, thought you were very beautiful and came up to talk to you. you were very flattered by the young girl’s words and started kindly talking with her, not knowing that her eldest brother had his eyes on you two, looking upon you both favorably. after tuk, which is what she told you to call her, decided her time with you was up and decided to go play outside with her other brother, you went up to kiri’s room, happily meeting your friends.
“heeyy… what took you so long (yn)nie?” tsireya said, being sweet as usual. “seriously!! i was so ready to leave i thought i was gonna have to teleport you over here just so we could go…” kiri said sarcastically, flopping on her bed in fake exhaustion. that girl has no patience, you swear! but you love her anyway.
“alright alright, i’m here!! we can leave now…” you said, gently pushing them out of the room. you were secretly happy that they waited on you, even if you were the last to arrive. you guys were two steps from the front door, when kiri’s mom told you all to wait just a second. “kiri, you will take neteyam with you, yes? i don’t want anything to happen to you girls out there.” it made sense that she was worried for everyone’s safety, but why did it have to be neteyam…? you swore that this was bad karma from a past life or something.
“mama… why does neteyam have to go too!! i wanted to hang out separately for once…” kiri groaned. as much as kiri whined and pleaded, both you and tsireya knew that mrs. sully wasn’t budging on her decision. “well…” you said, “i call shotgun!!”. no way you were gonna sit in the car beside him plus hang out with him at the mall! kiri would just have to suffer.
“urghhhh….” kiri complained and walked out the door. neteyam was leaning on the doorway, ushering everyone out. you knew that your face had heated up walking around him, so you kept your head down as to not alert the boy to your embarrassing reaction.
after you went out, you ran to the car and got in the front seat. you leaned your seat back a little and got comfortable, since you liked sleeping on car rides. soon, everyone else got in, with neteyam (of course…) sitting behind you. you didn’t say anything, but tsireya winked at you from the drivers seat and gave you a knowing glance. then she drove off, and you had fallen asleep.
when you woke up, you looked out the window and saw you had arrived at the shopping center. but, tsireya was no longer in the seat beside you. so you looked around and the only person in the car was neteyam. who else if not neteyam? “oh. you’re awake.” he said, looking at you through the rearview mirror.
you yawned while covering your face and stretched a bit. “yup, i am… where is everyone?”, you inquired. “they went ahead without you, and told me to keep an eye on you since you looked too peaceful to wake up. their words, not mine.” he said, shrugging. a piece of your heart crumbled when he didn’t agree with your friends’ sentiment, but it made you happy that he overall agreed to stay with you.
“oh… how sweet of them.” you said sarcastically. “well, you must be ready to go then..” you remarked while opening the door. “wait a minute.” he said, making you stop. you looked at him curiously and he quickly got out and went to open your door. “my dad told me when i was younger that he would do this at his age. now i feel bad when i don’t do it.” you beamed at him and nodded a thank you. it made your heart skip a beat, just a little, but you wouldn’t let that show to him.
as you both began walking toward the entrance of the shopping mall, it clicked that you didn’t know where your friends were, but when you checked your phone, you didn’t have service. looks like you were forced to to ask him. you cleared your throat and spoke up.
“hey neteyam, d’you have service? i don’t know where kiri and tsireya are, so could you call them?” he pulled his phone out and frowned, grunting in disappointment. “sorry (yn), looks like i don’t have any either.” crap… looks like you two were stuck by yourselves in the mall as big as the world. it was so large, they could’ve been anywhere.
“well…they must have a map somewhere. i need to pick up some things anyway.” you said, trying to be optimistic. he simply nodded and started following you. shortly after, you found the map and began going to where you needed to shop. you talked with him about everything and nothing at all, and for some reason talking to him was so easy and comfortable. you learned so many things about him, and you felt like you both had bonded a little. after thirty minutes of walking, talking, and shopping, you were tired.
“we shouldn’t spend too much time inside, so let’s quickly stop at the food court and eat, then go back to the car…” you suggested. “sure. this one’s on me.” he said. he was gonna buy you food? usually you weren’t the type to allow people to pay for you, but this seemed like an opportunity to get closer to him. you thanked him and walked up to your favorite food stall in the mall. “hi can i order (f/f) please?” you asked the cashier nicely. they nodded and told you your total, then neteyam pulled out his wallet and handed over his card, and you then thanked both of them.
you noticed that the boy hadn’t eaten, so you inquired about it. “i am not hungry.”, he curtly stated. wow… he only paid for you without complaining! he was super chivalrous and kind to you, it made you think about what a relationship would be like with him. was he kind like this to his other girlfriends? something made you want to find out more about him, and how he was when it came to love.
you absently-mindedly walked back to the car, still feeling at a loss because you didn’t get to spend time with your friends like you planned. sure, talking with and getting to know neteyam was nice, but you didn’t like him in that way, did you? the way he would do small gestures for you did make your heart flutter, like when he’d hold doors open for you, or offer to buy things for you, and tell you when the clothes you liked looked good on you. but that was just him being friendly. right?
you sat in the car in silence. after a while, you had fallen asleep listening to music you had saved to your phone, only being woken up by the loud talking and laughing of kiri and tsireya. took them long enough. “hii, (yn)nie! did you have a good time with neteyam, was he nice to you?” tsireya said loudly, and winked only for you to see. he spoke up for you, since he could tell you were still out of sorts from just waking up. “yes, we had a nice time. your friend (yn) is very fun to know.” he said that about you? did he mean it? but most of all, why did he have to say it now? your friends wouldn’t ever let you live this down.
at this rate, your feelings were quite muddled, and you weren’t quite sure what they were exactly. all you did know is that you were slowly losing yourself in your admiration for him. he was kind to you, understanding, and had a cool temper. but you had never wanted to lose yourself in love to someone else. the thought scared you originally… but getting to know him lessened the fear.
maybe…just maybe you did like the boy.
and maybe that was okay.

“Hello there,” Grinning, Tuktirey watched from a safe distance at the insistent yapping from a nest of Viperwolf pups.
This pack specifically was only a couple of months old, but friendlier than those residing further away from her village, thus more used to the comings and goings of the Omitikaya and not trying to kill anyone who came too near.
Tuk found herself visiting the energetic pups several times a week, always making sure their protective mother and pack weren’t too near when she snuck closer than anyone would recommend.
But she was confident in her abilities to protect herself, the bow slung over her body never left behind when outside the borders of her home. Not to mention the two extra daggers strapped to each thigh with firm leather holsters.
Allowing herself a couple more moments of silent admiration, she swallowed back a giggle as one of the bravest of the pups came bouncing over in her direction, stumbling clumsily over its legs and trotting the last couple of feet before rubbing its leathery body against her ankle, no sign of viciousness present.
Bending down to give the creature a little scratch behind its ears, the wolf gave a yip in satisfaction, tail thumping against the ground until a far-off howl sounded.
Forgetting Tuk’s presence all the pups started to howl in reply and she used their distraction to swiftly turn back around and climb up the tree she had come from, safely keeping herself a distance away as the rest of the pack came running through the bushes with their newest prey for the day, growls mixed in with the barks of the youngest.
With one last glance, Tuktirey started her short journey upwards before giving a sharp whistle.
A screech replied her quickly, a shadow flying over her only for a few seconds before landing down on the large branch before her, leaves fluttering down the ground from its appearance hidden within.
“Hey there boy,” Tuk trailed a gentle hand down her Ikran’s neck, somewhat feeling a little melancholic today, tracing the midnight blue skin with yellow and green marks. “Mawey Atanzaw.”
The old ikran listened, calming down and nudging his head against her hands as she smiled, nuzzling him back. She wasn’t the only one seemingly restless today.
Atanzaw himself was aware of what day it was, having acted impatient from morning until now.
Oh, what a shock that day had been for everyone; Tuk’s iknimaya was a moment still prone to come up in discussion to this day, four years later.
She had followed the same rites of passage as all her family before, making it all the way up to the Hallelujah Mountains without much issues. And just when Tuk thought she had found her bond, Atanzaw had swooped down from the sky like the vicious beast that he was known for.
Chasing away her first prospective Ikran and snarling at her.
No one had seen the animal since your death nearly seven years ago, the ikran having taken to the skies and never seen again after your body was brought back to Metkayina village to be buried with the ancestors.
She had been frozen to the core, all reason of what she was doing vanishing, until the realization that the ikran wanted her to fight; prove her worth to become his newest rider.
An occurrence that had never happened before in the history of her clan.
Once a rider died, it was well known their mounts refused to take any other.
But there she had been, faced with the fiercely loyal best of her long passed oldest sister.
“You want to see her, don’t you?” Tuktirey whispered, gently tracing the lines of his face as Atanzaw scuffed. “How about a little flight, then we’ll go.”
Swinging herself up on the saddle, the ikran didn’t need any more direction to follow their usual flight route circling her home forest.
Leaning forward to rest her whole body upon the warm skin of her mount, Tuk took a deep breath; eyes closing and feeling the wind whip past her as they soared above the trees.
The sun was slowly setting, painting the sky in a beautiful picture of soft oranges, pinks and yellow, bathing her in a backdrop of warmth and comfort.
Ten years have passed since your death.
Tuk remembered that day more clearly than the others.
When her family had finally managed to pry her and Kiri away from the grasps of their enemies, her eight-year-old mind thinking everything was going to be alright from there out as they floated above the water on Payakan’s fin until she noticed the usual bright absence of her oldest sister.
Her questions had been answered in the worst possible way as she was led to the flat surface of rocks in the middle of the dark ocean, the flames of the sinking boat being the only light to illuminate them
But it had been bright enough for her eyes to take in the scarily still form of you. An image of cold serenity with a wet cloth covering your body from the neck down, eyes closed as if you were dreaming.
Tuk had thought you were.
Simply sleeping that is.
Sinking slowly down to her knees beside you, small hand shaking your shoulder to wake up, to hug her and assure her that everything was okay now. That their family was safe and they could go home. But you wouldn’t wake up.
“Why won’t sissy wake up, daddy!” Her child self had sobbed, hiccuping and whipping around to stare at her dad for an answer.
He had only scooped her up in his arms, tugging her head into his neck with comforting nothings, apologizing for something she couldn’t hear through her sobs of denial. Kiri had stared, seeing but unseeing, fists clenched by her side as their mother sank down and pulled your damp head into her lap.
The bright roots from the tree of souls brought her back to the present as Atanzaw swooped down slowly. The area was empty from what she could see, because Tuk had arrived late to her family’s tradition of visiting you on your death anniversary.
Instead of heading straight to the tree and connecting her queue, she found a slab of high rock several feet away and sat down. Her ikran settling down on his stomach beside her with a grumble as she absently traced his neck.
“Come on, Tuk Tuk! Atanzaw won’t wait for us forever!” Your voice seemingly whispered in her ears, your bright laughter following as the memories of her small self rushing out of the hut for your weekly sister bonding time.
“Tuk Tuk, mom and dad won’t be happy if you don’t clean up before dinner!” What an ongoing issue it had for you to force her to simply clean up after a day of adventures outside.
“Why are you crying, Tuk Tuk?”
“I-I had a n-nightmare of you leaving m-me…”
“Awe, my sweet little Tuk. I’ll never leave you, okay?”
“Y-you promise, sissy?” You had grinned so widely that it seemed like you could shield the entire world from her. “When have I ever broken a promise?”
Tuktirey couldn’t help but scoff, the sound feeling loud in the emptiness of the space as she plucked out handful of grass and letting them flutter to the ground.
“You’re a goddamn liar, sissy,” She couldn’t help but mutter bitterly.
“Careful now. She won’t be too happy hearing you say that.”
Looking over her shoulder to face the familiar deep voice of Neteyam, grinning almost innocently.
Tuk rolled her eyes, never stopping her aggressive little plucking of nature. She would apologize to Eywa another time.
“What are you doing here, Teyam?”
Her oldest brother heaved a sigh as he sat down on her other side, his ridiculously broad shoulders brushing her own. Just like everyone else, he had grown into himself as a strong male Na’vi. She knew that if their father decided to step down today as Olo'eyktan, Neteyam would be more than ready to take his place.
But alas, Jake Sully was still a stubborn male who assured he was more than capable for a couple more years before letting the role of leader go to someone else. A stubborn old fool, their mother had berated him to their amusement.
“I assumed since you didn’t show up earlier, I would find you here sooner or later.”
Her brother, now twenty-five was one of the respectable leaders of their clan, as a general and heir to their father. Neteyam even surpassed Jake in build and height, all the teenage softness melting into a strong wide jaw and high cheekbones.
“You didn’t have to wait,” Tuk muttered again as he chuckled.
“And let you remain here alone ruining that poor grass?” Her hand stopped at his pointed words with an inward sigh.
Pulling her knees against her chest, she wrapped her arms around them, never taking her eyes away from the gently swaying branches of the Tree of Souls.
“What’s the issue, Tuk?”
“What makes you think there is one?”
She didn’t have to look to know about the brow Neteyam raised at her. “You’ve been acting odd the last couple of days. Even mother and father have noticed.”
Tuk gnawed at her bottom lip. “I don’t know how to say it.”
“Since when have I ever judged you?”
That was true. Neteyam was always willing to offer an ear for her problems, often ending the conversation with a comforting hug to brighten up her days.
“I…think I’m forgetting her.” Tuk’s whispered admission floated into the air with a shuddering breath, eyes welling up with tears she let trail down her cheeks.
A guilt that had bothered her ever since she realized with horror how she couldn’t seem to recall how your smile had looked like, if the colors of your eyes had been as yellow as she remembered, or a more dark orange.
“Oh Tuk…” She didn’t fight the hold Neteyam slung over her shoulder, pulling her into his side, lips pressing against the crown of her head. “Why are you beating yourself up over that?”
“I can’t forget her, Teyam,” Tuk’s voice shook. “She’s…sissy. What kind of sister would I be if I can’t remember what her smile looked like? How her laugh sounded. It’s not right.”
“Who told you that?” Neteyam’s voice was a low comfort. “It’s the truth isn’t it?”
“No, not even close, Tuk Tuk.”
Tuktirey shook her head. “Don’t do that. I don’t want your lies, Teyam.”
“Do you believe Y/N would call you a liar?” His question made her pause because she didn’t know.
She didn’t remember what you would have said in moments like these, and it was that exact feeling that was eating her up from the inside.
“You were eight, Tuk,” Neteyam continued seriously. “A child in the midst of war and mayhem. We all were. Trauma has haunted us all since then, you as a child couldn’t even escape it. Your memories warp over time, and no one would blame you for forgetting details of scenarios over a decade ago.”
“But it’s sissy!” She repeated vehemently.
“Sissy would tell you to suck it up and stop being a wimp.”
Words that your oldest brother would never use on a daily basis made them both freeze, before sharing an airy laugh together at how you would 100% say that to their faces.
“Yeah, she would…”
How Tuk hated the truth of those words. You would have told them much more than that with narrowed eyes and hands on your hips. Probably including a couple of cuss words followed by your signature whack to the head.
“A day does not go by where we don’t miss her,” Neteyam’s voice had taken a note melancholy, Atanzaw in his silence seemingly agreeing with a rumble from his chest.
“Y/N will always leave a mark within our lives long after we’re gone as well. Just look at Lo’ak. That fool has managed pretty well for himself.”
Giggling at their inside joke, Tuk could see what he meant.
After the war ended, everyone besides their second brother decided to return to the forest. Lo’ak had been firm in his decision of remaining with the Metkayina, Tsireya by his side as mates and to lead the future generations to come. They were doing incredibly well last time the family had heard, welcoming a healthy baby girl as their first child and naming her after you. They had promised to come for a visit the moment the babe was old enough for long travels.
None of the family had expected Lo’ak to be the first one to create a family and life for himself, but he had put all the credit on you. How he promised to be strong for your sake; A promise he had now fulfilled to its brim to the pride of everyone else, your parents especially. Kiri herself had taken over the role of Tsahìk, with their grandmother only growing more weary by the day, and there was no one else suited better to the role than her.
That left only Tuk, with her eighteenth birthday having passed, she was officially an adult in human terms. She had chosen to become a part of the hunters, often led by Neteyam as well.
She took after you a lot in that sense, her sense of adventure and adrenalin.
“You think sissy would be proud?” Tuk asked carefully.
Neteyam nudged her enough to catch her eyes as she followed his gaze to the tree, his small smirk obvious. “Why don’t you go and find out?”
“W-what?”
“I think of all days, that today is when Eywa might feel a bit more giving than usual.”
Despite her confusion over his mysterious words, Tuk listened and stood up. Walking the distance towards the closest root, she expected the same familiar connection to Eywa and hearing the whispers of the past brush over her mind as well the warmth spreading through her body. However her heart hammered when she felt her mind being pulled in further, as if dragging her away from the ground itself.
Where was she?
Slowly looking around, Tuk could vaguely recognize it. It was still home, in the forests on one of the many wide branches belonging to their trees. But it was taller than most she remembered, somewhere further away from their village.
“Should I be offended that you look confused?”
Gasping, Tuktirey whirled around quicker than she had ever moved. Her hand covered her mouth, blinking as if in a dream as you grinned at her.
Looking just like you had back then. Burnt orange like the sunrise, that was your eye color.
“...sissy?” She was too afraid this wasn’t real. Because it didn’t feel like it.
Your grin widened, beaming almost - arms opening wide. “Hey Tuk Tuk.”
Tuktirey propelled into you mid sob, somehow still feeling smaller than you despite her couple inches on you. The familiar warmth of your grasp around her body brought her back to her childhood almost frighteningly fast, making her think how she managed to ever forget that feeling.
“How tall you’ve become,” You murmured gently, hands trailing down her long braids, kept neatly within a leather tie.
“I-I can’t believe this. How-”
“Eywa has granted us the gift of seeing each other again. A rare occurrence.”
Although not wanting to part from your arms, Tuktirey forced herself to pull back slightly.
Only to be startled by the fact she had to look down to meet your sparkling gaze. You had always seemed like a larger-than-life figure to her. Towering above like an impregnable shield, it was now she realized how you had only been sixteen. How young your features looked now compared to her own eighteen.
Had you always been that slight?
“I don’t know what to say.”
You chuckled, reaching up to brush a singular braid back and tuck it behind her ear. “Do you have something to say?”
“I-I thought I did,” Tuk admitted, grasping your smaller hands tightly as you watched her patiently. “But now I’m not so sure.”
“Well, then how about I start?” Meeting your eyes, she watched them crinkle. “I missed you, Tuk Tuk.”
Eywa knows how she managed to smile, a light laugh following despite her tears. “I miss you so much, sissy.”
“You are stunning. I always knew you would be.”
“How could you?” The words slipped out before she could stop. “You’re not here.”
But you simply snorted, obviously disagreeing. “I’m always there, Tuk. Even if you can’t see me, or feel me. Or even want to remember me. I’ll always be there.”
“Then why did you leave?” Tuktirey couldn’t help the choked question, knowing better than to expect an answer to it.
You had been shot. Not chosen to die. But you defied all expectations as always, answering with a smirk.
“Shit happens.”
Their dad would have been proud to hear that.
“You are so much like Dad,” She huffed out almost exasperated.
“And don’t you let him forget,” You winked.
A cribble crawled over her skin, the leaves of the trees rustling almost in warning as your face tilted up towards the sky, smile faltering the slightest.
“We don’t have much time.”
“No,” Tuk shook her head, gripping your hands tighter, probably near painful but you gave no indication of it. “I want to speak with you more. Apologize or something, I can’t forget you!”
To her surprise, you laughed. Loud and coming from your belly. “Forget me? Oh Tuk Tuk, you worry too much.”
“What?”
“You fear the natural sides of life. Apologize? For what? How do you expect to forget your favorite sibling?” Your joke did not dry the fresh tears gathered in her eyes, before your eyes softened.
Hand coming back up to cup her cheek, thumb gently brushing against it. “You are allowed to forget my face. Even my voice. I would never hold it over you, Tuktirey. But this,” You patted her heart. “That will never be gone. You’ll always find me there, okay?”
Lips wobbling, Tuk sniffled almost pathetically as she nodded. “Okay.”
Her blurry vision took in your face carefully, for what felt like the very last time for a long while.
Looking at your shining eyes, loving wide grin with the same hint of mischief you always carried around.
The wind rose as you reached up to press a gentle kiss to her forehead, hands squeezing hers one last time before stepping back and letting go.
“I love you, sissy.” Tuk managed to croak out as the surroundings were starting to brighten. She swore it was a tear running down your cheek as your grin widened enough to show your teeth.
“I love you too, Tuk Tuk.” And then a classic you-move; offering her a two-finger salute with a wink. “Make me proud, tiger.”
With a sharp gasp, Tuktirey was back; eyes flying open and stumbling back only to be balanced swiftly by Neteyam.
But he didn’t look concerned. There was a knowing glint in his expectant smile as she stared at him silently, almost stunned.
That smile widened at the look on her face. “So what did she say?”
As reality caught up with her, Tuk straightened before huffing out a laugh, wiping away the stray tears on her cheek.
With twinkling eyes, she ran her tongue against the inside of her mouth in thought before blurting out.
“That you’ll always be a sniveling crybaby!”
Cackling, she ran away with a squeal towards Atanzaw as Neteyam growled playfully behind her, bringing up the chase as she took to the skies; heart and soul lighter than she could ever wish for.
