Hi, so I LOVE what you make with Canva, and I was wondering if you had any tips? I tend to use other graphic design/editing apps, but I have to start on making some bingo cards for a Tech fandom event, and I am SO INTIMIDATED.
🥹👉👈 Oh, my goodness! Thank you!!!
I love using Canva…and it’s been a learning curve to be sure!! *and I’m still learning…saying I am a novice is probably generous, to be honest 😅
Anyhoo…some tips!! I will do my best!
(I’m using the Canva app on my phone and have the free trial of the full version … if you have access to the free trial, absolutely DO IT!! So many amazing features!)
CANVAS SIZE
Make sure the canvas size you’re using matches the project you’re doing! This will help with formatting the “elements” to look exactly how you want them wherever you’re putting them.
For example, when I’m making post banners for Tumblr, I typically do 1080 x 400 px — this makes a nice, narrow banner that will work great for adding to the top of a post! (I learned this from the ever knowledgeable Dr. Google)
Canva is great about offering suggestions too, but if none of them seem right, Google what you are hoping for and do custom dimensions!
CANVAS BACKGROUND
*for this canvas, I used a square “instagram” post (size 1080x1080px)*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Making the background exactly how you want it is really important, and it will make adding elements just more fun because your canvas is more fun. Ya know??
But you don’t only have to use colors or gradients for the background.
You can also use pictures or photos and apply it as the background!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ADDING ELEMENTS
I love scrolling through elements…there are SO MANY to choose from (especially when you have pro with the free trial!)
You can the resize them and move them around on the canvas. Canva will tell you when you’re center or an equal distance away from other elements on the canvas! This makes spacing so easy 😎
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ADDING TEXT
If you’re making a bingo card, my suggestion would be to format just one box, making the text the size and the font you want. Really hone in on it and make it just how you like it. (Preferably a with text that is more than less words)
Then…copy it!!
Tumblr media
This will copy all of your formatting and you can type in your new text without having to try and change all the settings over and over and over again 😅 (this might seem like a “duh” thing…but this took me way too long to figure out)
THEN, you can make micro adjustments to make each text fit in the boxes how you want them. You aren’t starting from scratch every single time! 🙌
This was just a rudimentary crash course of some of the biggest things I use whenever I start a new project. But if you have any more specific questions, please send me a message and I’d be happy to help with whatever I can 😇

Ratcatcher 2 Headcanons
Tumblr media
Personal headcanons for Cleo Cazo- Ratcatcher 2.
.✫*゚・゚。.★.*。・゚✫*.
.✫*゚・゚。.★.*。・゚✫*.
Doesn’t mind astrology, tarot cards, or crystal balls. Anything of that sort, she’ll take what resonates gladly and get excited at the notion. Though she doesn’t necessarily know a lot herself.
Pretty accepting of all identities. Good with respecting pronouns and sexualities and religions. Also finds drag queens fascinating and will hype them up at any given opportunity.
If Cleo had an instagram, her feed would be pictures of places she’s traveled, Sebastian and other rats, and old pictures of when she was in Belle Reeve with the caption, “I miss this place sometimes.” And it’s like a picture of her bed or notches she kept on the wall or something.
Kind of a messy eater. She eats fast.
Cleo gets attached to a lot of pets at pet stores. Cats, dogs, fish, birds, lizards- doesn’t matter. Though she’s not a big fan of snakes since they eat mice and rats.
Cleo watches anime.
We didn’t see much of the Peacemaker-Ratcatcher 2 relationship, but I imagine she trusted him. Sort of like in an older brother, or protective relationship. Different from the one she had with Bloodsport though.
Thinks the flower crown snapchat filter is really pretty. She’d have the time of her life with it if she had snapchat.
Probably allergic to bees. I don’t know. I feel like she has those seasonal allergies.
When moths are active, they’ll come and land on her when she’s still.
Her favorite parts of ice cream sundaes are the cherries that come with. Those bright, red sugary ones.
Enjoys watching makeup videos on youtube in the morning or with friends. Would like to see her trying to follow a tutorial while putting makeup on her partner.
Cleo is a good cook and will ask Sebastian to fetch ingredients or taste test while she makes food.
Speaking of food, Cleo is not a picky eater.
On Cleo’s cell wall in the beginning of the movie, you can see her artwork. It’s mostly rats, but she also enjoys landscapes.
*These headcanons can be expanded on and added to over time. Headcanons can be left in comments to be added to the list. These headcanons will be used in kyber’s fanfictions for this character. All headcanons can be used to inspire a fanfiction request. All headcanons discussed in comments must be discussed politely and are welcomed.

beautiful echoes: main characters and their lightsabers
bryn organa + nira desarin: yellow lightsabers are extremely rare, only wielded by the Jedi Sentinel in the dying days of the old republic. Owners of these lightsabers are known to develop remarkable skills through the force, the user often being so strong a lightsaber is not needed to be deployed. The House of Organa was the last known family in possession of a set of twin sabers after Order 66. Their current whereabouts are unknown.
kirah andor: orange lightsabers aren’t as rare as yellow or white crystals, but still uncommon. they belong to negotiators, those who are selfless and use violence as a last resort. the crystal itself isn’t even kyber, but is instead a kohen crystal, possessing some vibration with the force. kirah andor is the last known jedi to be in possession of one, created by her after meditating for several months in her father’s former habitat with Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker.
jaina skywalker: purple lightsaber wielders are incredibly dangerous, studying both light and dark sides of the force. They walk the line between the two, careful not to tip to one side. Jedi Master Mace Windu was the last member of the Old Republic to wield one, nearly defeating the emperor with the mystical weapon. Grey Jedi Jaina Skywalker now wields the bright color, a symbol of her divided allegiance between her cousin and her father.

War of Hearts + Lightsabers
Vitari, Knight of Ren, Force-user, and apprentice to Kylo Ren, wields twin red lightsabers. Kylo Ren collected the lightsabers of his fellow padawans after their slaughter and brought them back to Supreme Leader Snoke, who removed the kyber crystals from them. After nearly a year of training under Kylo, Vitari is presented with two of these kyber crystals, as her previous weapons of choice were twin vibroswords, and uses them to create her lightsabers which bleed into the red hue of the Sith.
Maeve Bey, Force-user and former First Order member, wields a purple double-bladed lightsaber that can detach into two lightsabers. After the death of Supreme Leader Snoke and her subsequent break from the First Order, Maeve journeys to the Crystal Cave in the ruins of Ilum. There, she forges her new lightsaber, its deep purple hue signifying her past connection to the dark side and her aversion to the light.
(Inspired by @ahsokatonas I literally couldn’t have done this without your amazing tutorial, so thank you so much for making that!)

Call me stupid, but how do you download books from the kindle app onto the kindle 😅
Saw the post you made a while back about reading fanfictions on kindle and decided to try with mine, but I’m stuck at this point and google’s not helping
Hello!! Not stupid at all! And I’m happy to help! 😇
(I’m using my iPhone to take screenshots for reference, but it should be the same on a laptop!)
See below for my step by steps!
Step One will be on Archive of Our Own because I like choosing a specific version to download (so I can do all the awesome Kindle things like changing the font style/size, spacing, etc)
So you’ll wanna go to the fic you wanna download, hit that download button at the top, and download the doc as an EPUB.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Step Two you’ll have to find where your document downloaded to. Usually it goes straight to your Downloads file unless you specified somewhere else (sometimes I’ll put it directly on my desktop because I’m lazy and it’s easier to find).
Anyhoo…you’ll need to go to the website Send to Kindle. Here, you’ll be able to either drag or select files you wanna send to your kindle!
Tumblr media
Step Three you’ll go over to your main Amazon account:
Account >>
Account Settings >>
Content Library >>
Content >>
Digital Content >>
Docs
Tumblr media
⭐️You should see the documents you sent over (it may take a few minutes, so just refresh the page until you see them pop up!)⭐️
Tumblr media
⭐️You’ll now be able to “Deliver to Device” all the fanfics you want!!⭐️
If any of these steps seem wonky, please let me know! Or you can always message me and I’d be happy to help!!

Here Is How You Can Transfer Ethereum To A Ledger Nano S
Ethereum is predicted to touch $15000 this year! But why am I telling you this?  Well, I am telling you this because if it does actually reach $15000, it will be the second biggest bull run in the history of cryptocurrencies after Bitcoin.  But this  prediction of $15000  was later corrected by the Reddit’s co-founder and corrected to $1500 by this year.  Still oddly enough, if Bitcoin reaches $100,000 then Ethereum will surely be worth more than $1500, which is a significant amount.  That’s why it becomes of paramount importance to store your Ether in safe wallets like  Ledger Nano S  hardware wallet.  Therefore, in this tutorial, I will share with you exactly how you can transfer Ethereum to a  Ledger Nano S  ETH address.  Transfering Ethereum To A Ledger Nano S   Note:  Keep your mobile wallet or exchange wallet ready from which you want to transfer your ETH out to Ledger Nano S.   Step #1.  Launch your Ledger Wallet Ethereum app on your system/device. It will appear like this once you have opened it.      Step #2.  Now plug-in your Ledger Nano S device in PC/mobile and enter your PIN once it is activated. Always remember to keep your PIN secret otherwise anyone with the access to your device and log in and take your funds.      Step #3.  Now, in your Ledger device, open your Ethereum app and you will be able to see this screen.      Step #4.  The app on your PC/mobile will prompt you to select between ‘ETH’ and ‘ ETC ’. Select ‘ETH’ here.   Note:  If the app isn’t working fine, please check if your browser support on Ethereum application of your Nano S is disabled. You should select ‘No’ there.      Step # 5.  After clicking ‘ETH’ you need to wait for few seconds for the app to synchronize with the blockchain. The sync process will look like this:      Step # 6.   After the synchronization is complete, you will be able to see this home screen of your wallet. Here, you will see your ETH balance and the last transaction details. You will also see ‘send’ & ‘receive’ options here.      Step #7.  In this case, as we are transferring ETH to Ledger Nano S we will be required to click on the ‘Receive’ option. After clicking on ‘Receive’, you will see this screen.      Step # 8.  Now that you have got the ETH address on which you will be transferring your Ethereum, you should decide to copy the address carefully or be ready to scan the QR code of the address. It is always advised to scan the QR code to avoid any human errors.   Step #9.  You can scan the QR code in step #7 from your mobile wallet or copy the address shown in the ledger app to paste it in the wallet from where you are sending your ETH. Generally, people withdraw ETH from exchanges or mobile wallets to securely store it on  Ledger Nano S  for a long term. And this has to be done very carefully as you can’t afford to put a wrong address during ETH withdrawal from exchanges.   Step # 10.  Now once you have scanned the QR code or put the copied address and just hit send from your exchange or mobile wallet. And now wait for the transaction to reflect on  Ethereum blockchain explorer .   Some more important points to remember…   While transacting in Ethereum, especially while receiving Ether, it is always good practice to wait for 12 confirmations before considering a transaction successful and this has been reiterated by the Ethereum founder,  Vitalik Buterin  also.  Another thing, as shown in  step #7,  don’t use IBAN addresses and stick to HEX formate only and lastly, buy Ledger Nano S from the  official website  because a lot of people are trying scam newbies because they don’t buy from the official website. Also, thoroughly learn how to setup and use  Ledger Nano S  through our exclusive video tutorial series on the same.        If you like the post, please share it with your friends & family!    Here are a few more hand-picked articles you should read next:    When To Use A Bitcoin/Altcoin Mobile Wallet?    Bitcoin Lightning Network: Why & How It’s a Game Changer    How To Buy Bitcoin Using Coinbase [Complete Guide]    The 3 Best Hardware Wallets For Bitcoin of 2018 ( + Altcoins Supported)    Kyber Network: Everything You Need To Know    Trouble Finding Qtum Wallets? We’ve Found The Best For You    The post  Here Is How You Can Transfer Ethereum To A Ledger Nano S  appeared first on  CoinSutra - Bitcoin Community .

Annotated edition of May 17 Week in Ethereum News
As noted last week, I’ve started to think of this as the “Eth holder, but doesn’t work in the industry” edition, so we kick it off with the high-level things I’d read beyond just what you can read.  So, for example, Gnosis/OpenEthereum is picking up the Parity client, but you can see that without me highlighting it.
So here’s my highlight of high-level things for Eth holders.
Some interesting findings in ConsenSys’s eth2 staking survey
Visa patent shows they are building on Ethereum
Building on ethtrader’s DONUT, Reddit unveils community points for r/fortniteBR and r/cryptocurrency subreddits. At the moment, 9000 wallets created for fortnite and just 2100 for r/cryptocurrency. Currently on Rinkeby testnet with plans to move to mainnet.
JPMorganChase decides to bank Coinbase and Gemini
ErisX launches ETH futures, physically delivered, monthly and quarterly contracts
dydx’s BTC/USDC perpetual with 10x leverage is open to the public
This BTC/USDC perpetual matters because the crypto market has been overtaken by YOLO gambling on centralized exchanges that probably trade against you as they know liquidation points and no one else does.   Not a surprise, dydx’s founder says this is already the #1 most traded DeFi.   Centralized exchanges get hacked all the time - not your keys not your crypto.  DeFi is an improvement.
We finally have Eth futures!  And they’re physically delivered, which is good.  Though physical delivery requirements can lead to strange consequences (eg,negative price of oil last month!), it keeps traders honest and moors the price to the actual asset.
JPMorganChase finally banking some crypto clients is an important step for the space.
Reddit is testing letting subreddits govern themselves and pay for things using an Eth token.  Very cool
Visa patented their method of digitizing dollars on Eth at the same time that their chairman said at a conference that “digital currencies could be additive to the payments ecosystem” and that they “supported” them.
In September 2018, the same Visa chairman said that “[blockchain] isn’t really at its core, for us, a good technology.”
It’s interesting that even as the crypto market continued to wane, Visa realized they needed to try to get ahead of the curve.   Crypto isn’t dead.
Tumblr media
Eth1
Geth v1.9.14 – unindex and save disk space
OpenEthereum v3. Formerly the Parity client. Support for eth/64, breaking database changes to save disk space. Deprecating light client, auto updater, and private transactions
cross-client consensus tests v7
Latest core devs call. Beiko’s notes from the call, largely around EIPs for next hard fork, eg: 2315 (evm subroutines), 2537 (precompile for curve in eth2), 2046 (reduce gas for static calls to precompiles) and 2565 (repricing the 198 precompile)
EVM+384 bit arithmetic as an alternative to EIP2537’s precompile
Discussion of a second method for resource accounting alongside gas: oil from Suhabe Bugrara, separately formulated as karma from Martin Swende. Or a counterproposal from Vitalik: per account gas limits
The case for Eth-collateralized tokenized gas at the protocol level
So the first real release of the fka Parity client.  Very cool, client diversity is important and to my knowledge there are no large scale miners running anything but the Go and Rust clients, so this is important.
What’s up with the “second method of resource accounting alongside gas?”  The idea is that stateless Eth will need a substantially different gas schedule for block witnesses, yet we don’t want to break existing contracts.  We want backward compatibility without overly complicating the dev experience.  Not an easy problem, hence the debate about the best way to do it.
Meanwhile there’s a bit of a debate about some of what goes into the next hard fork.  Relatively normal stuff, some folks think we should stop doing all these precompiles (eg, bit arithmetic proposal), others think we should only do the general precompile EIP
Eth2
Latest what’s new in eth2, featuring Ben’s thoughts on timelines
Latest eth2 implementer call. Notes from Ben and Mamy, targeting June for the multi-client testnet
Schlesi testnet: Teku is fully participating and Nimbus is almost fully syncing, though there was a chain split this weekend
Proof of custody through occasional checks and slashing
Stethoscope: networking test suite
Idea from Justin Drake on putting price feed oracles in eth2 via validators, and a counter-proposal from Vitalik Buterin
The Schlesi testnet went down, but overall it has been quite stable.  Nothing terribly unexpected for a testnet, and Lodestar will soon be the 5th client to join up.  Slow and steady progress.
Price feed oracles got quite a bit of pushback, I think some of this is because stablecoins are having their second renaissance - something I’ll touch on later.
Proof of custody (ie, that you as a validator hold the data you say you do) through a Truebit-like game: to prevent lazy attestations, the protocol will guarantee false things, and if validators don’t point it out, then they get slashed.
Layer2
What are the true finality guarantees of state channels? Depends on liveness of layer 1 chain
We often say that state channels offer “instant finality” but this is a bit of a shorthand to say that it offers “instant finality” assuming that the underlying basechain has “liveness” (which is just blockchain-speak for “is producing blocks”)
This newsletter is made possible by Trail of Bits!
Tumblr media
Trail of Bits recently reported and fixed 12 security issues in projects across Ethereum, some of them critical. Read more about what they were and how they found them in Bug Hunting with Crytic.
Stuff for developers
Solidity v0.6.8, some important bugfixes
Using immutables in Solidity v0.6.xx
Austin Griffith tutorial: build smart contract wallet with social recovery using React
If you haven’t watched Austin’s wtf is eth.build video, you should. It’s under 3 minutes, funny, and informative.
Running the Incubed light client with Python
OpenZeppelin Contracts v3, but modified to be safe for upgrades
Mainnet testing with your own node using Brownie
headlong: ABI v2 and RLP for the JVM
EthPM v3 – spec for v3 of Eth package manager is in last call
12 bugs found by Trail of Bits’ Crytic tool using 90+ detectors
Verifiable randomness on-chain using the Chainlink VRF
Austin’s eth.build explainer vid is great.  Truly recommended - as a community we should be trying to get this in front of many devs as possible.
How long until someone wins a hackathon with eth.build + oneclickdapp or dapphero?   Seems possible.
Chainlink VRF seems quite cool; PoolTogether is already integrating it.
Ecosystem
Tornado.cash finished the largest trusted setup ceremony to date, operator soon to be set to null
Some interesting findings in ConsenSys’s eth2 staking survey
A guide to building with MACI – an anti-collusion demo using SNARKs
And Tornado did burn the admin keys between then and now.
Enterprise
Visa patent shows they are building on Ethereum
Where to use the Baseline protocol: sharing business process automation with counterparties
Brave releases Mjolnir tool for easy deploying and benchmarking permissioned Eth chains
Brave is going to move their token to a separate chain, presumably with a bridge.  Doesn’t seem like terrible news to me, if you have a small amount of BAT, you don’t need a strong censorship-resistance guarantee.
Application layer
Building on ethtrader’s DONUT, Reddit unveils community points for r/fortniteBR and r/cryptocurrency subreddits. At the moment, 9000 wallets created for fortnite and just 2100 for r/cryptocurrency. Currently on Rinkeby testnet with plans to move to mainnet.
Dfinity’s first Swiss employee Robert Lauko now working on Liquity stablecoin, low collateralization with algorithmic liquidation via stability pool
“Augur v2 core contracts are finalized and in a code-freeze state, and the trading UI is undergoing performance testing”
Aave changes its interest rate model. Inflection point in the curve now 8% and 90% usage.
Kyber hit 1 billion USD worth of trades
Brave at 14m MAU/5m DAU
Sai successfully shut down on May 12 and now is redeemable for ETH
Hasu: the future of cryptomoney is central banking. An analysis of Maker’s options and decisions
Utah County (Provo) in Utah offering marriage licenses certified with the hash on Eth mainnet
dydx’s BTC/USDC perpetual with 10x leverage is open to the public, and compares centralized and decentralized perpetual markets
Lots of cool stuff, some of which touched on above.   Utah County is not the first local government to do something like this, but as far as I could tell, it was new.   That must have been a hard sale with the crypto hope at a relative nadir.   Amusingly their site was not https (not that I should judge, I’ve been lazy about that myself, usually do to my cheapness in finding hosts...ahem Tumblr)
Brave growth keeps going.  It really is a superior product, it always surprises me that there are some in crypto who doesn’t use it.
One interesting trend is that we’re having a bit of a renaissance in projects trying to compete with Maker.  Of course Synthetix has had quite a bit of success, though previous rounds contained some laughable attempts (Basecoin).   Stablecoins have a large design space with lots of risks to tradeoff.  I think the new wave of stablecoin designs has some interesting ideas.  I think there’s plenty of space for more people to be successful, though I think plenty of folks are underrrating how hard it will be to compete with Maker.
Overall this felt like a good week for the app layer section, and my usual arbitrary “how much is DeFi? metric comes in at 6/10
Tokens/Business/Regulation
ErisX launches ETH futures, physically delivered, monthly and quarterly contracts
Now ~2300 WBTC on Eth versus 900 BTC on Lightning
RAC’s $TAPE launched on Zora and went from $20 to $1000. $TAPE is a token redeemable for a special edition cassette of RAC’s latest album. Interesting new model for artists to capture value
I guess “days, not weeks” dies as an Ethereum meme?   Or maybe it’s like wooks and TwoWeeks, and it will live forever.
(if you don’t catch the reference, there before Eth shipped in july 2015, there was 18 months of Bitcoiners claiming that it was vaporware that was impossible and would never ship, and the eternal answer was always that the ship date was “two weeks” away....which became “two wooks” because the internet is wonderfully weird).
Meanwhile BTC keeps migrating to ETH, as the Bitcoin chain is too limited and fundamentally unsustainable so if you want to do anything with your orange memecoin, then you have to use Ethereum.
Loved seeing RAC’s $TAPE do well.  While critics say this is gimmicky and perhaps not replicable, I actually tend to think the opposite.  Many artists have huge fans who would pay insane amounts - artists have never done a great job at giving their fans new experiences and capturing value.
General
JPMorganChase decides to bank Coinbase and Gemini
Wired’s story on MalwareTech/Marcus Hutchins, from stopping WannaCry to FBI arrest
the main idea in HALO snark construction
Open cryptography problems: improving stealth addresses and ideal vector commitment
I love how the general section is such a mismash of the deepest crypto things and then human interest stories like about Marcus Hutchins.  The Wired writer bought his story - I tend to think it’s probably slightly more complicated
I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with the calendar.  I’m not excited about virtual conferences and VR.  But maybe some of you are?
That’s all for this week in the annotated edition.  If you made it this far, would you tweet about it or RT this?   https://www.evanvanness.com/post/618575234233204736/annotated-edition-of-may-17-week-in-ethereum-news

20 Best Must-Have Slack Apps (Paid & Free)
Tumblr media
I’ve worked both remotely and in a cluttered office space. One thing I learned in both places is that team communication tools either help you to successfully execute your projects, or leave your entire department in disarray.
Slack is one of the best tools to communicate and organize your team and projects all in one place. Since it was released in 2013, it's grown to be one of the most trusted team collaboration tools, with massive brands like AirBnB, Shopify, Target, and Lyft on its client roster.
What makes Slack so easy to work with is the freedom to integrate other tools and software focused on improving project management, customer service, coding, and more.
Instead of searching through Slack’s App Directory and experimenting with app after app, only to go through endless trial and error, I've listed 20 of the best Slack apps to boost productivity for you and your team.
1. nTask
Tumblr media
Site: nTask
Free: Free basic account
Price: Upgrade at $2.99/monthly per user.
Background: nTask is a task management tool that's designed for tracking issues, giving feedback, and managing various teams and projects along with added features like:
Time Tracking & Timesheets
Meeting Management
Issue Tracking
Risk Management
Pros & Cons: nTask, like most Slack apps, provides a seamless integration so you can start working on your projects right away. nTask support provides you with online tutorials so you can find your way around its user-friendly platform. You can create a checklist, schedule meetings, share files, and give feedback on individual projects.
However, nTask doesn't have a timer for its time management features. Sometimes you'll have to switch platforms between Slack and nTask’s desktop platform to make updates or assign multiple or complex tasks.
2. Time Doctor
Tumblr media
Site: Time Doctor
Free: Free trial available
Price: Starting at $9.99/month
Background: Time Doctor is one of the most optimized Slack management tools out there. Unlike most management apps made for small or large teams, Time Doctor offers features that can work for single freelancers and sizeable organizations alike.
Pros & Cons: At first glance, the Time Doctor App looks like a simple time management app. On closer examination, it proves to be a project manager’s swiss army knife. Capabilities include:
Real-time tracking (with a timer)
Assigning and receiving updates on task
Chat monitoring and screenshots
Detailed client reporting
Payroll management
Attendance and break tracking
Combine Time Doctor with other add-ons like Salesforce, Google Drive, and Dropbox for extra horsepower.
The only cons to this app are the time-consuming and complex processes required to merge your current business account and HR information with the Time Doctor, and then slow integration with Slack.
Reviews on the mobile app haven't been all that great either, which means it might not be a fan favorite. Nonetheless, you should still try it out for yourself before making a decision.
3. Wonder
Tumblr media
Site: Wonder
Free: Free Forever
Background: If you're tired of placing sticky notes and staring every single item in your Slack chat, Wonder is the perfect app for you.
Pros & Cons: Wonder is a hybrid of post-its and voice notes to help remember passwords, terms, and anything else. The only con I've found so far with this app is that installing it requires a wait time. You'll have send a request through Wonder’s home page and then wait for Slack to approve it.
4. Dropbox
Tumblr media
Site: Dropbox
Free: Free trial available
Price: Starting at $12.50/month
Background: Dropbox has always been rival to Google Drive, and after its brand and user interface refresh in May 2019, it added a few features to make your Slack and Dropbox integration flow better than ever before.
Pros & Cons: You can easily share files straight from Slack to Dropbox and vice versa without switching from platform to platform. You'll receive updates on changes or documents shared with your teammates. There are not many cons to Dropbox, as the features are limited to saving, editing and sharing documents.
5. Tettra
Tumblr media
Site: Tettra
Free: Free account available
Price: Starting at $39/month
Background: If you run a customer service or technical support agency, Tettra is the perfect Slack app for managing your knowledge base and finding every FAQ answer in record time.
Pros & Cons: If you have an information driven team then Tettra, previously known as Tettra Wiki, is made for you. It’s your very own Wikipedia, tailored to your company's policies, procedures and more.
Tettra gives you the option to make individual pages public or private, give read-only or editing access, and provides content analytics for each page, question or document, so you can improve along the way.
You can also search and share answers from Tettra in Slack without leaving the platform. Tettra goes a step further to provide your team with automated content suggestions so you can optimize your knowledge base.
It does take some time to connect to Slack, and you have to be very careful with how you structure your knowledge base over time, page permissions and access.
6. Statsbot
Tumblr media
Site: Statsbot
Free: Free account available
Price: Starting at $45/month
Background: With the help of SQL and Javascript, Statsbot turns your raw data sources into data your team can analyze, monitor, and track.
Pros & Cons: This is one of the best data analytics tools, next to Google Analytics, except that it easily allows you to streamline, share, and access reports in Slack. Statsbot provides reports like
Predictive Analytics
Profit Analysis
Trend Indicators
Financial Forecast/Budget
You can schedule what time you'd like to get your reports or export them as you need them. Statsbot also allows you to set up notifications or alerts you automatically when there's a spike or unusual activity in data for specific reports, so you're ahead of the curve.
You can get reports as detailed as they can be, or you can simplify them to share with teammates who might not be as keen on reading through massive data sets.
The main drawback is that set up may be a bit complex if you're not used to inputting or driving aggregate data through an analytic system. The cost to access features, reports and adding teammates is also pretty pricey.
7. Donut
Tumblr media
Site: Donut
Free: Free account available
Price: 10 user minimum for $49/month
Background: Donut is a Slack app that's centered around providing a smooth onboarding process and features to help build company culture.
Pros & Cons: Donut provides custom onboarding services and features for new hires and stakeholders in HR, sales, and engineering right in Slack.
A significant pro that attracts most people to Donut is their team building features. For example, Donut will randomly pair employees from other teams that don't know each other well and let them schedule a coffee break with them, or collaborate for light projects using Slack commands like #coffee-buddies, #lunch-pals, or #donut-friends-forever.
Small, in-app nudges like this help to make team building and growing company culture more engaging and fun rather than obligatory meet and greets for medium and large organizations.
The only con is that you'll have to pay to play with Donut. To get access to most, if not all, of its best features, you'll have to upgrade your account.
8. Quip
Tumblr media
Site: Quip
Free: Free trial available
Price: Starting at $10/month (with $12 per user)
Background: Quip, known for being Salesforce’s partner in crime, is also a great Slack app for project collaboration and sales management.
Pros & Cons: You can use Quip to organize, edit, and share documents, sheets, or client projects to get work done as a team with Slack’s direct messaging feature. You can also share workspaces, feedback, or communicate on the document as your team works alongside each other.
The only con is that Quip is mainly another version of Google Docs, except for its detailed user dashboard and more engaging project collaborations. The only advantage is that you can integrate more apps with Quip + Slack to streamline your workflow.
9. Asana
Tumblr media
Site: Asana
Free: Free account available
Price: Starting at $9.99/month
Background: Asana is a Wishpond favorite, so our review may be a bit biased. But you can't blame us; Asana is one of the best work management platforms out there. It helps our team stay focused on the goals, projects, and daily tasks to start and finish the month organized and on a high note.
Pros & Cons: Asana allows you to set deadlines, assign projects to team members and add comments, updates, or remarks so you can track each project progress. You'll also get email updates if any changes or projects are submitted.
Asana offers a "Workload" feature where you can view what projects your coworkers are working on, and what their workload for the day, week or month looks like so you can reassign or reschedule tasks accordingly.
The only con is that Asana on its own isn't that great, you're just left with a workflow and project management app. With its integration with Slack, you'll get to experience the full wonders it has to offer your team.
10. Kyber
Tumblr media
Site: Kyber
Free: Free account available
Price: Starting at $3/monthly + 14-day free trial
Background: Kyber is an affordable team management app that helps you to keep track of your project in Slack.
Pros & Cons: Kyber is similar to Asana, but with team polls and surveys, and gives you the option to plan meetings right in Slack. You also have access to a Kyber dashboard where you can monitor and add tasks for your teammates.
Kyber gives you the option to send yourself a morning task list, task reminders (plus recurring reminders) and project status so you can see what's on your plate when you start and end your day.
Kyber does offer team collaboration, but its strong suit is really in personal productivity more than anything else.

One of Marker.io’s best features is that you can integrate Marker.io + Slack + other apps for a 360 approach to project management, using Trello, Asana, GitHub and Jira Software, to name a few.
12. Lever
Tumblr media
Site: Lever
Price: Request a custom quote
Background: Lever is a popular recruiting platform that helps you to find the right candidate with the help of Slack, allowing you to recommend or list requirements for potential hires. Lever is essentially HR meets Slack.
Pros & Cons: Used by top brands like Shopify, Netflix, and Lowes, it's become one of the most trusted recruiting software names to date. Don't just take our word for it: Lever was awarded as a G2 Leader in Spring 2018, along with taking home Capettera's Best App for Ease of Use 2018 award, showing that Lever put its money where its mouth is.
Lever provides features to ensure that you recruit the best of the best, allowing interviewers to provide direct feedback to each candidate, transition the onboarding process and allowing team members to give input on candidates to see who'll be the best fit for their team.
Lever also offers advanced recruiting features like an interview kit, integration with LinkedIn Recruiter, and caps your candidate headcount so you can limit offers. You can also boost employee referrals with trackable social links just like LinkedIn.
The main drawback is that you'll need additional accounts like LinkedIn and apps/software to optimize Lever, along with its high prices. But depending on what you're recruiting needs are, it might just fit the bill.
13. Stripe
Tumblr media
Site: Stripe
Price: 2.9% + 30¢ per successful card transaction
Background: Stripe is a payment app that allows you to accept, track or refund payments through Slack.
Pros & Cons: Stripe offers ecommerce and online payment integrations and free API to build a custom ecommerce experience. You can also set up a recurring subscription and invoicing with the option to connect your Quickbooks account.
A major con is that the more you integrate Stripe with other payment options (for both local and international) the more fees you attract. Stripe also doesn't accept PayPal payments, which can put you at a disadvantage since many global shoppers use PayPal to make purchases.
It also isn't fitting for business looking for a single processor for online and offline payments. Think of it as an extension, like Mastercard, Apple Pay, or Visa.
14. Timebot
Tumblr media
Site: Timebot
Free: Free account available
Background: Time bot is time management app you and your team can use in Slack to track your work, projects, and days off.

Tumblr media
Site: Voicea
Free: Free account available
Price: Starting at $7.99/month
Background: Voicea is an enterprise voice assistant (EVA) bot that helps to record your notes, meetings and saves your most important information through Slack.
Pros & Cons: When you add Voicea as a meeting attendee, it syncs with your Google Calendar, so it's in the meeting ready to record notes when you are. It also comes with a mobile app you can use for on-the-go meetings.
You can track internal, interviews, research, and customer meetings all at once or over several online meeting platforms, which gives you the flexibility to keep track of your sessions no matter what platform you use. It also comes with a simple interface and integration so you can get started right away.
The drawback of Voicea is that it doesn't work very well if you're in a room with multiple people talking via one device. Not everyone likes having their meetings recorded, so you'll have to ask for permission ahead of time.

You can also set meetings and reminders based on your team members time zones. You can also integrate Standuply and Slack with other apps like Giphy, Product Hunt, Medium, and more.

You can also integrate payment apps like Quickbooks, Paypal, and more, so you can sync and invoice payments in Slack without leaving.
Once you've integrated Harvest with Slack, all you need are a few Slack commands to get started. You can also view your hours and payments in Slack.
There have been some comments about the user interface on Harvest online platform when compared to using the app on Slack, but I think that's more of personal preference.
