Ok so I read this fic

You're my river running high by Argymate

It's Draco Malfoy/ Dudley Dursley and it's really good I really enjoyed it

for sure recommend it but there's one specific concept it has that I want to talk about because i really like it

So uh spoilers

So in this fic it has that whole the horcrux in Harry has more of an effect then is like noticed

In this case both causing more aggression in the Dursleys as well as taking Dudley's magic from him. So Dudley ends up going to Hogwarts after the dementor attack because he could see the dementor and so had tests done on him and stuff and then the realization that he was in fact a wizard

So I was thinking of a similar situation where instead it's never realized so when suddenly Harry's not only never around him anymore but the horcrux is gone all together

so now Dudley's having signs of having magic but he's obviously too old for Hogwarts by now but like it's making his life difficult because he never actually had to learn any sort of control for it because it was never necessary with Harry unintentionally siphoning his magic out of him

So he needs like a tutor right I imagine there are ways to take owls and newts with never attending the school

Of course the only real magic person he knows is like Harry so he gets in contact with him and Harry is a little bitch about it as he should be but once he sees how much trouble he really is in he decides to help

Still going to be petty about it though so he decides to ask Percy to tutor him specifically because he figured Percy would be the most insufferable to Dudley and he didnt want to ask Hermione to have to put up with his cousin

But it backfires and they actual end up getting along because Percy's got a thing for brutes and is just enjoying spending time with someone who doesn't really know his history and maybe this is what pushes him to change jobs because he realizes how much he used to enjoy tutoring/teaching

and Dudley just thinks he's pretty and is having a bit of a panic over it

The middle name belonged to Astoria’s father. She knew he disapproved of Draco just as strongly as Narcissa disapproved of her, so perhaps it was only fitting that they both be represented in the name of the child who, if either of their families had gotten their way, would never have been born at all. In any case, Astoria loved her father, no matter how he felt about her choice of husband.

“Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy. Write that down on the birth certificate.”

A part of her wished she could pass down her own maiden name. The precious, innocent child in her arms had done nothing to deserve the one he was to inherit from his father. But that wasn’t how things worked, and perhaps it was for the better. Astoria could think of nothing quite so satisfying as raising her child to be the sort of person her in-laws would never want to carry their family name.

What if Harry's graduating class had a reunion?

Well, wonder no more because I wrote a one-shot about this scenario! Except to keep things more special; there's a cook off involved featuring Ron and his bestie and a couple of other characters as well. Snippets from the fic:

And seeing that innocent smile on Harry’s face—the same smile he used when making jokes about being an orphan purposely to make everyone uncomfortable—Ron knew straightway that this was no accident. It was a challenge.

Hermione hesitated, as traumatic flashbacks of the culinary war flickered across her mind. “I’m not sure that’s a good idea. You have no idea how fiercely Harry and Ron compete over their cooking. I’d rather you avoid getting caught in their crossfire.” Enough of her family and theirs had paid dearly already to the whims of those two men, indulging their contests.

Pansy glanced at Tilly, who was now contentedly nestled against her neck, and then back at Neville. For a moment, they shared a look that spoke of unspoken understanding, and Pansy found herself recounting her recent adventures. 

After everything he'd been through—growing up with the Dursleys, enduring a childhood as an orphan, and surviving all those years of Voldemort hunting him down—he had finally reached a peaceful chapter in his life. He had faced danger, loss, and uncertainty, but all of that had led him to this point.
