Every time I read fanfiction I always wonder am I in love with this character or am I in love with the author’s interpretation of said character? Do you get what I mean??? Like yes, I grow more delusional but I’m delusional because of their perception on how they view the character we both feel connected with? DO YOU GET WHAT I MEAN?

And it’s interesting to me how we (the majority) are women, obsessed with a male character, but seek fiction of them who are also written by women.

Becoming a nice person wont mean hes better at communicating with others and will suddenly understand how to think about how They Feel when he says something. But he can try, find his people who understand he isnt perfect and isnt TRYING to make you feel bad but he has a harder time thinking about others or in some cases can't think of others and how they feel bc to him, what he said makes perfect sense and is true! Isn't lying bad? . And id be ok with that bc that'd be a good arc, i just dont want it to be bad like a lot of redemption arcs ive seen

it makes me really happy when dan and phil are proud of "dan and phil" traditions.

a lot of people unfamiliar with the fandom (outside of dan's coming out story) like to claim that fans ruined everything for them by forcing them to do stuff together and create this brand.

that's just not true. creepy people did stalk them and try to speculate about their personal life with "proof". but dan and phil fully embraced their joint brand and made things they were proud of totally in parallel to that drama. no one forced them to make a gaming channel or go on tour together. they liked working with each other!!!

this false narrative that all dan and phil content was fabricated out of some awful "fandom has them at gunpoint" situation is so (1) sad and mean because it disregards the quality of their content, writing it off as forced and inauthentic and (2) totally disconnected from what they've said; they love working together as much as their audience loves the vibes!
