🤡 I do try to make myself laugh a lot with the fics that I write, especially when I’m writing for canons that have a lot of comedy naturally (and I am already drawn to canons that have a lot of comedy naturally so it lines up a lot). I think the funniest fic I’ve ever written is Things Overheard (Hiding Under the Bed of the King of Athens) (warning: NSFW) for the Hades fandom, a fic where Zagreus doesn’t want to get caught in the coliseum and has to hide under Theseus’s bed, unfortunately when Theseus and Asterius are feeling a little... amorous. It contains bits like this:

“What an absolutely bracing workout, friend Asterius! With the progress we’ve made today, I’m sure we will handily defeat the hellspawn when next he shows his accursed face!”

Oh great. His accursed face is right here.

I’m not saying I’m a comic genius or anything but I do try!

On the not sex comedy side of the spectrum since I’ve been writing a lot for ROTTMNT I have stuff like this:

“Wait, water, wind, and fire?” Leo laughed. “Do you remember the twenty-first night of September?”

“Okay, first of all, thanks for getting that song stuck in my head for the next week, second, that’s Earth, Wind and Fire, third, you’re dumb, fourth, we’re getting off track here.” Donnie scowled in Leo’s general direction. “Focus! What happened after you were thrown off the roof?”

TWST is a really funny canon but looking back over my fics I realize I don’t do a whole lot of joking in those because I’m too busy writing Sweet and Tender Azujami moments oops.

👀 ROTTMNT is what is consuming my brain rn BUT something I want to work on for TWST when I get some time is a fic where Azul talks to his stepdad and gets some advice/reassurance (basically he asks his dad why he found his mom attractive which is a roundabout way of hunting for assurance that his crush will find him attractive). I feel like Azul’s stepdad is sorely underutilized!! It’s really cute to me that they seem to have a good relationship to the point that Azul just calls him his dad and only clarifies that he’s talking about his stepdad, and I want to write something that explores that relationship.

He was supposed to be a random family member and then developed, oops!

He attends RSA, but this doesn't affect his relationship with Medea!Yuu all that much

He’s older than Medea!Yuu by one year

I think I’ve mentioned this before but the siblings look nothing alike

He’s interested in sword fighting, horse riding and other typical ‘prince/hero’ activities but he also enjoys fishing

He’s kind of a ‘bad boy’ by RSA standards, he’s really just a bit weird with a temper

In this version he’s still technically a demigod [which means he definitely has some daddy issues]

He had a girlfriend, but he only dated her because all his friends were starting to get into relationships and he felt like he had too as well. Medea!Yuu still brings it up.

He refers to himself as Medea!Yuu’s sibling, while they refer to him as their half-brother [they’re both wrong btw]

They both joke about hating each other, but neither of them actually mean it

He doesn't blame Medea!Yuu for what their mother did, this is one of the reasons their relationship is still strong

They didn't grow up together, but they were introduced in their early teens [13/14] and became fast friends

The fact that they don’t clearly look like siblings means there’s a lot of misunderstandings with people thinking he and Medea!Yuu are dating [it makes both of them really uncomfortable]
