He'll throw an arm around your shoulders as you walk together, or hold your hand.. little kisses as you pass one another or are just hanging out

He gives you gentle hand squeezes to assure you he's okay after missions w/ the team

This is a very old fic, but I wanted to post some of my old stuff into here and I still kinda like this!

Virgil followed behind, like he always did. He watched as you and Eduardo talked Tye and Asami’s ears off about some stupid date you two went on. Virgil felt a pang in his heart when Eduardo leaned down and kissed you on the cheek, and his eyes drifted to Tye and Asami’s hands, fingers intertwined with each other.

He always felt left out, more lately than ever. Ever since you an Eduardo became a thing and Tye and Asami revealed they’d been dating the whole time. You were always doing “couple stuff” now. You always invited Virgil, but even when he was physically there with you all, he always felt like he wasn’t. Like now, you would often forget he was there. It hurt even more because he had always liked you, ever since escaping the Reach together. He wanted to make his move, but Eduardo had confided in him and told Virgil about his crush on you. Virgil, being the good best friend that he was, stepped back and even set you two up. It hurt to do, but he wanted his best friend and his crush to be happy.

He never let any of you know how he was feeling, though. He continued making jokes and teasing each couple, as if nothing was wrong. Virgil didn’t want any of you worrying about him, and he certainly didn’t want anybody to know he was pining after you. That would cause a whole bunch of drama he didn’t need, nor want.

When you all got to your destination, the skatepark, Tye shouted: “Virgil! I bet I can do a better 360 than you!”

“Oh, you’re on, man!” Virgil grinned, temporarily forgetting about his loneliness.

After him and Tye had their little competition (Tye won, of course. The bastard), Virgil just skated. Skateboarding always cleared his mind, let him focus on one thing for a little while that didn’t involve himself getting hurt. Well, emotionally that is.

“Oh shit!” Virgil suddenly realized he was speeding right at you, and before he could stop it, he crashed.

Virgil groaned as he got up, eyes widening when he realized where he was; on top of you, hands on either side of your head. He felt his face heat up as he heard Tye laughing, Eduardo rushing over to the both of you.

“Are you guys okay?” Eduardo asked, biting back his own laughter.

Virgil couldn’t move, he felt paralyzed. The girl he’d been in love with for almost a year now, was right below him, her face inches away from his. He wanted nothing more than to fill the gap and kiss her, but he couldn’t do that to you or his best friend.

“Virgil? You good?” You asked timidly, worried by the strange expression on his face. He was uncharacteristically quiet, and his eyebrows were furrowed in worry.

“Um…Yeah, Uh…I’m sorry.” He quickly climbed off of you. Eduardo was staring at him, both concern and irritation in his eyes.

“Dude, what’s up?” Eduardo asked, suspicious of his best friends behavior.

“Uh…what?” Virgil asked, panic rising in his stomach. He was already flustered from being so close to you, and now his friend was starting to put the pieces together.

“You…are you serious?!” Eduardo started to get angry, realizing his friends feelings for you.

He’d always suspected it, Eduardo wasn’t blind. He could see even the tiniest glint of hurt in Virgil’s eyes whenever he kissed you or brought you up in conversation. What he didn’t know was how long Virgil had liked you, but if he did he would’ve gone a whole lot easier on him.

“What’s wrong with you, dude?” Eduardo glared at Virgil.

“What is going on?” Asami asked, looking between the two boys.

“Virgil’s a creep!” Eduardo spat, then erupted into curses directed at him. He was rapidly speaking in Spanish, so fast none of the Runaways could understand what he was saying.

“And you’re a dick!” Virgil yelled in his face.

“You’re the one who can’t get a girlfriend so you have to try and steal mine!” Eduardo snapped.

“Lalo!” You scolded.

Virgil became enraged, it felt like a stab to the heart. A kick in the gut. He shoved Eduardo back, making his best friend angrier and throw a punch towards him. Virgil dodged it, swinging back and punching Eduardo in the face. Eduardo held his now bloody nose, before kneeing Virgil in the stomach.

“Hey! That’s enough!” Tye yelled at them, grabbing the backs of their hoods and prying them off each other. “You’re acting like children!”

“What is the matter with you two?” You scolded them, Asami rolling her eyes in disapproval.

“Man, let go, man!” Virgil swatted Tye’s hand off of him, not taking his stare off of Eduardo. “You’re such as asshole, dude! You’re lucky I’m such a nice person or I guarantee you never woulda gotten with her in the first place!”

“Excuse me?” You cross your arms and raise an eyebrow at him.

“Man, you’re all blind! Y/N, I’ve liked you ever since the Reach, man! In fact, I was about to tell you but then Eduardo told me he liked you! So I stepped back, cause I’m a good friend! Unlike you, dude! None of y’all hardly notice me anymore, it’s all double dates now! I’m done!”

Virgil shook his head, grabbed his skateboard and stormed off. You all watched him leave, shocked at his outburst. Virgil was such a chill and cool guy, he’s never been angry in his life.

Eduardo felt like a jerk, he didn’t even realize what Virgil had been going through this whole time. Some best friend he was…

“We really messed up.” Tye finally let go of Eduardo’s hood, realizing he was still holding him back.

“I gotta go talk to him.” Eduardo mumbled, stepping on his skateboard and grabbing it.

Eduardo rushed after Virgil, running to the street corner he saw him disappear behind. He didn’t see Virgil anywhere, but knew where he was headed.

Eduardo skated down the street, arriving at an old school diner, Luke and Danny’s. This was him and Virgil’s personal hangout, they liked the vibe and the burgers. He walked in, seeing Virgil sitting at the bar counter with a soda. Eduardo went to the jukebox and played ‘No Scrubs’ by TLC, which was the song him and Virgil would play on repeat just to see how many times they could before Luke or Danny banner them from playing another song. Their high score was 8.

Virgil turned around when he heard the song start to play, sending a glare at Eduardo. He turned back around, ignoring him as he sat in the seat beside him.

“Dr. Pepper, please?” Eduardo asked Luke, the waiter behind the counter.

“What are you doing here?” Virgil asked, venom dripping in his voice.

“Just chillin.”

“Cut the crap, man. What do you want?” Virgil rolled his eyes, looking at anything but Eduardo.

“I wanted to apologize, esé.” Eduardo said quietly as Luke set down the glass of sizzling Dr. Pepper. “I didn’t know.”

“I know that.” Virgil scoffed.

“I’m serious, Virgil.” Eduardo looked at him. “I was way out of line. If I had known you liked her first I would’ve-“

“No dude. She likes you. There’s nothing either of us can do about that. This isn’t anyone’s fault, I overreacted.”

“No you didn’t. I was a total Tonto del culo, vato.” Eduardo said as Virgil finally looked him in the eyes, expression softening.

“Yeah, you were.” He gave a small grin. “Sorry for punching you in the face.”

“Sorry for kicking you in the balls.”

“You wish you did, dude.” Virgil chuckled.

“I’m serious though, for leaving you out. None of us realized we were doing that. I promise it’s not gonna happen again.”

“Of course it’ll happen again, y’all can still go on double dates Y’know. Just make sure to invite me once in awhile.”

“We cool?” Eduardo held out a hand.

“We’re cool.” Virgil smiled, taking his hand and half hugging him.

“Any food today, boys?” Luke asked, drying some dishes.

“Usual, man.” Eduardo nodded.

“Got it.” Luke nodded before handing off a ticket to the chef, Danny.

“So, how are you and Y/N?” Virgil asked.

“We don’t have to talk about-“

“Nah, I want to, man.” Virgil interrupted him.

“We’re doing fine. Took her to that dumb Ryan Gosling movie that just came out.”

“Man, you don’t like Ryan Gosling?” Virgil raised an eyebrow.

“Not when he’s shirtless and that’s why she wanted to see it!” Eduardo exclaimed, making Virgil laugh.

It was good to have his friend back, even if they were only fighting for a whole half an hour. Virgil even got some closure over you, maybe he’d move on soon. He had to eventually, nothing was gonna get in the way of their friendship. Not even a girl.

Funnily enough, his dad was the one who was experimenting on you

You had been one of the unfortunate ones of your pod to get captured

You tried singing to them, but they put a muzzle on you

Once, Ed teleported in to find you trapped in a little tank that could barely fit your tail and a muzzle on your face

It horrified him

He got flashbacks to back when The Reach had kidnapped him and the rest of them and done experiments

He fought with his father to have you released

They didn’t listen to him

So, he went behind their backs and released you

He wanted to take off your muzzle but every time he tried to reach you, you would just move away

So, he just took your hand and teleported the two of you to the docks

After that he hadn’t expected to see you for a while

But one day when he’s at the beach, he sees you again

“I never got the chance to thank you.”

“I wasn’t right what they were doing. I apologize.”

“It wasn’t your fault.”

And a beautiful relationship began

Him being so misinformed about sirens that you get irritated

“Humans like to make such stories.”

“So, it’s not true that sirens used their singing to lure sailors and kill them.”

“No! We used our singing to call for help from the sea when they tried to attack us. The sea was responsible for their ships being ruined and them drowning.”

“Why didn’t you call for help that night then?”

“Did you not see the muzzle on my face.”

The other sirens of your pod only judge you a little for having a relationship with a human

They come to land one day to spy on him and he notices

“If you ever even think of hurting her, you will find yourself at the bottom of the ocean.”

“Okay.”

Sometimes he gets kind of worried about how a long-term relationship with a siren would survive but he tries not to dwell on it for long

“Did you even want to ask Ursula for legs?”

“Ursula?”

“You know, the sea witch?”

“If this is some kind of children’s movie then so help me...”

Though he sometimes get’s the courage to ask seriously

“Do you ever want legs?”

“Do you ever want a tail?”

And that just kind of stumps him because this whole time he felt like he was showing an outsider his world, but he realized he was just as much as an outsider to your world

It gave him a change of perspective

Goes swimming with you sometimes and then gets lightheaded because he can’t hold his breath as long as you

For some reason, he likes seeing your tail flap around

Also likes seeing your tail glitter underneath the sunlight

Loves that you can talk to sea animals, but he does think it’s weird sometimes

“What did the dolphin say about me?”

“Nothing!”

“I know you’re lying; it’s giving me dirty looks!”

“Ed!”

Could you please do headcanons of the Runaway boys dating Roy Harpers sister?

Tye Longshadow:

He thinks your brother is actually really cool, a little extreme sometimes, but Tye can totally understand why.

Roy is also pretty cool with Tye, mostly because he thinks he’s a chill kid, and will offer to kill Maurice for him.

“Wait, you can do that?” Tye asked, as if he was actually considering it.

“Yeah, hell, I’ll even let you shoot the rocket launcher!” Your brother offered.

You’re going to have be pretty alert whenever Roy is around because he might be a bad influence on Tye.

Eduardo Dorado Jr:

Okay but your brother is actually really cool, like yeah, he can be insane but he’s actually really cool.

Ed feels a little bad for you two, after all, you grew up with a clone of your brother for most of your life and you’re just now reconnecting with the real Roy Harper.

Roy only remembers the things that you liked back when you were a kid so if he needs help, Ed would be more than happy to tell him what he should do to get closer to you.

He gets that rebuilding a relationship with someone you haven’t seen for a long time is hard but he and his dad made it work and he wants to make it work for you and Roy.

That and he’s hoping that’ll keep him on your brother’s good side. 

Virgil Hawkins:

Okay, first off, he is so confused about how the whole cloning thing works but he can quickly tell by the glare that you and Roy are giving him that it’s a touchy subject.

He sees the family resemblance when you guys glare at him.

Roy gets that Virgil is just a kid and all but he will gently remind him that that will not stop him from hunting him down to then ends of the earth if he hurts you.

Other than that, he and Virgil are pretty cool.

One time you walked into Virgil attempting to give Roy’s robot arm a boost with his powers and you knew it was going to end badly. 4 minutes later, something exploded in the lawn.

Y/n was another counselor.

Since there were so many meta-teens they center needed more help.

Since Y/n has an aunt that works with Star Labs.

They easily got in.

Y/n powers are unknown but many think it has something to do with their voice.

They have a way to calm down even the most out of control teens.

Ed and Y/n first talked only during breaks.

And by talk I mean Ed and Y/n sat by each other as Y/n worked on their school work.

If Y/n didn’t have any school work then they would talk.

It was mostly about helping other teens.

Ed would end up giving Y/n his number and the two would two.

When Y/n was away from the center.

Y/n would be the one to ask if Ed wanted to hang out away from the center.

I shipped BluePulse when it was getting more prominent, I shipped GoldenFlash pretty much as SOON as I saw more then .5 seconds of screen time together (lol), and I just think that having 2 slightly more responsible partners is good for Bart ^-^ And you, ofc, but that's not important (jk)

All of them do, but

Semi-casual arm over the shoulder as he asks for your thoughts on one of his new metateens' cases

Taking you to STAR while the others are on missions so you're not alone

Doing his best to ensure that you have a good relationship with his dad

(As long as you're treating him and any of the metateens right, he loves you already)

On that front, they all want their families to like you!

Barry and Iris are just glad that Bart's happy

And the twins love you!

Jaime's parents don't know for sure..

She still adores you, but don't you DARE hurt her big brother or his boyfriends!

Lots of lunch dates

As I said earlier, Bart typically 'plans' a lot of dates

But it's a good way to ensure you all get to spend time together

Bart will eat anyone's leftovers

If you're a picky eater, they can always find a place you'll like

Our speedster has probably eaten at EVERY restaurant anywhere he frequents, not just because of his metabolism, but because they just. Didn't exist in his future

He just wants the experience!

And ofc you're all happy to accommodate each other's needs

Sometimes Ed and his dad still fight

If he comes to you guys angry, it's either cuddle time or alone time

He's good at vocalizing it; doesn't want to snap at anyone for something that isn't their fault

We love growth ^-^

Jaime probably is the most in tune with you

The scarab *can* be helpful sometimes!

If you're upset and hiding it he'll still check in with you, make sure you're actually okay

One more for Eddie..

He left STAR because of the mistreatment he and his new friends were experiencing. He hates seeing any injustice in the world; it's wy he became a hero

If you ever experience discrimination or bullying for any reason, ofc they're all there to help you, but Ed is an instigator; he may dive into the issue with his heart instead of his head

It's weird to say be careful in such situations, but it's always good to have either Bart or Jaime there when you let Ed know what's going on

You're all there for each other, all the time, no questions asked

Runaways reacting to reader's spring allergies

Because if I take after my father, I'm allergic to.. well, life. Also giraffes and elephants.

Coming from a hotter, drier area, he probably doesn't notice at first

Thinks it might just be humid

But as soon as you start sneezing from all the pollen..

You're both sitting and sneezing

He eventually starts laughing just because of how ridiculous it is

If you give her a look, she'll shrug

Probably won't offer a tissue tho

Might offer to make you some tea, though

Clear your sinuses & throat

(in Japan it's typically considered impolite to acknowledge a sneeze, but after a few times, she'd say something. Iirc blowing your nose esp around other people is gross & impolite, too.)

Imagine a lazy day with Ed, just curled up together in the tower. No missions, no social functions, no noise..

He's laying on the couch, one arm under his head, the other holding you. He has you stretched across his torso, head resting just beneath his as he plays with your hair. You swear you can hear him talking metahuman logistics, or asking about going with him to visit his dad at Star next week, but it doesn't matter. Not when you feel so safe and comfortable here.. not when you're drifting off to sleep in his arms.

Working on a list of (mostly underrated) characters and ideas for multi-part, x reader fics.

So far I have:

Eduardo Dorado Jr & reader end up in the same batch of Metateen abductees, and after the Wally thing, the Runaways all go their separate ways. Season 3, Reader shows up at the Meta-Human Youth Facility to offer their services as a counselor, and they reconnect with The Golden One. How does their relationship progress?

Tye Longshadow grew up with both Jaime and reader. After his abduction and Jaime's subsequent "school trip", reader gets nervous and asks Jaime what happened. He admits that he got Tye's call (which reader did as well), and when he showed up, Tye was already gone. Queue Reader moving away and somehow meeting their childhood friend again. He offers for Reader to join the Runaways. How can they respond?

Icicle Jr! He meets you when you have a school.. idk, psych or law or something project and visit/interact with inmates at Belle Rev. He takes a liking to you - the first person who's tried to actually connect, even for just an assignment. Just before he knows he's set to escape, he tells you to meet him "when you think you can" and hands you a rose made of ice. He's taken away immediately and the rose is confiscated, but handed back to you with the rest of your stuff as you leave. (Changed this one a lil bit, it's this now)
