I am so tired of arguing people this. IF GIOVANNI CAN PRODUCE SOUP AS A NATURAL LIQUID IN HIS BODY, (as shown with his sweat) THEN THERE COULD BE A POSSIBILITY HE CAN CUM SOUP. I'M RIGHT.
how would you guys feel if mod said they've already had this conversation before and agrees with this side

jason todd x reader - really just wanted to say he's the type to start feeding you stuff when you're taking too long to finish. it turned into this. 1.5k+ ish.
(warnings: eating dessert (being spoon fed), pet names, gn!reader, lots of teasing, + sex mentioned! edited but will double check in a bit!)
Tumblr media
It’s not that Jason Todd is jealous. It’s not.
He’s been jealous before (plenty, he has to admit). He’ll be jealous again (could be as soon as next week, if not as early as tomorrow, if Dick so much as texts you to ask for Jason’s location). He knows this as well as he knows anything—as well as he knows that he’ll keep kissing you before you drift off to sleep every single night he’s lucky enough to go to bed with you. That Roy will keep being, or doing…whatever it is that makes him so specifically Roy. That B will keep disappointing him, even despite the slow and half-ineffective effort he makes by managing to locate whatever burner number Jason is currently using and leaving unnecessary updates on whatever mission Jason has most recently declined being part of.
It’s something else that itches at him. Something that burns with that same fire, creases his brow low over his eyes, and pulls his mouth into a pout you’ll tease him for later. It’s impatience. It’s the fact that it’s forty-five minutes past three PM (pee em), the latest you said you’d be home by, which means you’re a whole hour and fifteen behind schedule… still sat at the same outdoor café table you ordered lunch at with your best friend…four hours ago.
(Jason hadn’t meant to come. Hadn’t actually been invited. But the thought of French toast, egg scrambles with peppers, and looking at you in your cute date clothes was too much for him not to at least ask.
It's not a real excuse, he knows that. But what can he say, really, when he normally works the graveyard shift at Vigilante Incorporated, full time. Which he’s sure is what you were also thinking when you said yes.)
He likes your best friend. Not because he’s inclined to in any specific way (they’re nice in the way most people are nice, pleasant, if not a little boring and unworthy by his refined standards), but because he likes what you like, and especially things that make you happy.
But Jason also likes being home (on floor in front of the couch, shoulders between your legs while you absentmindedly pick at his hair and he cleans his gun, the both of you pretending not to be invested in whatever adult cartoon Roy most recently recommended. In fact, when you’d promised you’d be home by three, it was so that you could have dinner made by six, a shower together (and maybe just a tiny bit of sex) by eight, so he could head out for his scheduled patrol by nine.
(And be home by five am, so he could kiss you at least one more time before you had to leave for work.)
He could go on.
Not to mention, Jason burns; turns red as rust and Manhattan clam chowder when left in the sun too long (a phenomenon that remains unnamed yet oddly frequent among Gotham natives), which is simply just to say, in this little suburb an hour outside the city (when you aren’t going 90 in the carpool lane on a motorcycle), it’s all finally catching up to him. He can feel the pink on his cheeks.
In front of him, your dessert sweats. Fresh mascarpone cream seeping from between the now leaning, three-tier stack of biscuits, layered with the start of summer’s blackberries and drizzled with syrup. Still, you chatter away, the afternoon sun glinting off the spoon near your plate, as if to call attention to the fact that you haven’t even noticed.
“Eat with me!” it calls, and then as if to mock Jason’s poor sense of humor, “this whole thing is mildly irritating and definitely a waste of your time!”
He can’t take it anymore (you’d responded to the text he’d sent from the men’s room an hour ago, promising you’d pack it up as soon as you finished the food, but he knows now was silly of him to assume you’d be able to get anything in your mouth when you were that wrapped up in talking) and his body moves on its own: he picks up the spoon, leans across the table, and cuts through the top layer of your cakes without any care for decorum…or chivalry. The cream oozes, some of the syrup dripping down the side, and still, you don’t react.
“Honey,” he says, flat and low and grumpy, the only warning you get before he’s holding the bite up, inches from your lips. “Don’t let it melt.”
You blink. Your conversation stutters, falters, then dies completely as your eyes find his, and then the spoon.
“Oh,” you say, a little surprised, a little soft. Then, you smile, and Jason curses himself for ever being annoyed in the first place. “Thanks, baby.”
You take the bite graciously, tugging the spoon from his hands gently to finish off the bite. You wipe the corners of your lips, then lean in to give him the briefest of pecks, one that leaves his mouth sticky and warm with melting sugar. It’s almost enough to distract him from the fact he’s trying to lure you home… but you’re pulling away before he even has the time to fully close his eyes and enjoy it (as much as he’s eager to) and the spoon is set down in it’s original spot.
“Sorry,” you giggle to your friend, though your embarrassment is only half genuine, much to his relief.
He has to resist the urge to groan. And to make a sour face. And to express his frustration by scooping up a wad of whip cream and swiping it across your cheek (which is what he’d do if you were in private, not that he even needs the excuse to lick sweetness right off your face).
He gives it two minutes before he’s pressing another bite your way. Again, there’s no warning, no teasing, no words before there’s a heaping spoon of blackberries and cream mere centimeters from your mouth and his deep, blue eyes are narrowed in that particular, Jason Todd way, telling you: either you eat this, or… you eat this.
He thinks, at the very least, you’re finally picking up on the hint, as when you accept the bite, you roll your eyes and give him a playful glare. Jason doesn’t let you escape with the spoon however, this time pulling it from your mouth to let it rest between his forefingers as a clear reminder: you are going to finish this dessert, say goodbye, and go home… even if he has to be by his hand that it happens.
If you were a much more cruel partner than the one that you are, you’d offer back something biting, tease Jason, make a show of savoring the treat, and maybe even share a taste by exchanging tongue with him (as you sometimes do when you’re alone and eating something sweet)… instead, however, you offer him your hand under the table, fingers brushing the topside of his knuckles in a quiet, deliberate, and (most importantly) sweet way he will never admit makes him tender immediately.
Interlinked, your thumb starts to smooth over the scars that wrap around his skin, soothing any raw scabs in a wordless apology and a promise all at once. You don’t need to say anything, even though you still can’t, not really, not unless you want risk offending your friend. He knows you’ll apologize to him later, the way you always save the more intimate and vulnerable parts of your relationship, the parts you’re both still learning how to navigate, for when you’re alone together.
Jason exhales, something caught between relief and satisfied resignation. He’s happy to wait now that he knows he won’t really have to, so long as you let him keep this up.
You finish dessert slowly but obediently, taking the bites when he offers them, unabashedly disregarding the awkwardness that begins to fester without even needing to end your conversation. Though polite enough not to comment (as you’ve probably already mentioned to them Jason’s tendencies as a partner on the days he’s not desperate enough to tag along), your friend seems to pick up on the shift too, wrapping up the conversation with a glance at their phone and money for their portion and a tip passed your way. They excuse themselves with a hug and a cheerful goodbye that Jason barely manages to acknowledge in kind (though he does, again, for your sake).
Once they’re gone, the sudden silence is filled by the scraping of the fork against the soggy crumbs of your plate. Jason feeds you the spoon of syrup and mush one last time, and you can help but to giggle, a hand over your mouth as you chew, finally acknowledging the impatience that led to this whole scheme.
“Somewhere you trying to go, handsome?”
He scoffs lightly, trying but failing to seem unbothered when he begins roughly stacking your plates, “we have plans, might I remind you?”
“Oh?” you peer at him, failing to hide the sarcasm in your voice, “I had no idea. Really.”
“You said we’d be home,” he emphasizes with his dark eyebrows raised, “by three. Guess what? It’s four.”
(Jason is more of a homebody than he likes to admit, or at least, a stickler for getting his own way, which right now, includes taking both of your bodies home.)
You smile at him for real this time—genuinely, warmly, in a way that reaches something sore and soft behind his ribs.
“Yeah,” you peer at him, “But snuggling doesn’t exactly prompt rushing, does it?”
He gives you his flattest look, unamused, and even you have to admit, justified.
“My poor baby,” you laugh, standing and brushing crumbs from your clothes before reaching to gently brush Jason’s bangs out of his eyes. “I’m teasing. Let’s go snuggle.”
He ignores the sappy jab (really, the truth) and stands, too. He throws down a fat wad on cash on the check and reaches for your bag before you can, slinging it over his shoulder. You pull on the strap (see: attempt to make him relinquish the needless favor), but he’s already stomping back to his bike before you can even start another silly spat.
It’s not that Jason is jealous. It’s not.
He just wants you home—even if it means he has to feed you cake to get you there.

Writing Reference: Soup
Tumblr media
Soup, stew, broth, bisque, or chowder?
Generally speaking, a dish is called soup when it’s primarily liquid-based.
Stews are thicker and chunkier.
But an especially thick and chunky soup could be called a stew.
Broth is a liquid that serves as a main ingredient for many soups, and can be considered a soup when eaten by itself.
Bisque and chowder are different types of soup.
Soup vs. Stew
The main characteristic of the dish we call soup is that it’s primarily liquid-based. Regardless of what other ingredients it has in it (meat, fish, vegetables, whatever), they’re either submerged (or mostly submerged) in the liquid or are blended as part of it.
The first example constitutes what’s often called a brothy soup.
The second example is what we’d usually call a creamy soup (creamy as in texture—it may or may not have cream in it).
But there are a lot of variations.
The dish we call stew may start the same way as a soup, and can include many of the same ingredients used in soup (meat, fish, vegetables, whatever).
Stews are cooked by simmering or slow boiling, known as stewing.
The popular distinction between these two foods is how “liquidy” or how thick they are: a dish called soup typically has more liquid in it than a stew does. Stews are generally thicker than soups, being made up primarily of larger, solid chunks of ingredients.
In other words, stews are thicker and chunkier—and always have solid ingredients.
Generally speaking, if there is so much liquid that the ingredients are fully submerged, it’s a soup. If the chunks dominate the dish, it’s a stew.
Of course, a dish labeled as soup can be pretty thick and chunky.
And, sometimes, cooking adjustments can turn one into another. A soup could become a stew if cooked long enough that most of the liquid boils off or is absorbed by the ingredients. Or you could add more liquid to a stew to make it soupier. The point at which a soup becomes a stew (or vice versa) can be endlessly debated.
That’s because there is no exact measurement or technical rule separating the two. In many cases, both words could be reasonably applied to the same dish. The difference is often simply a matter of preference or opinion.
Broth vs. Soup
The essential ingredient in many soups is broth (or stock).
Broth is traditionally made by boiling or simmering water with ingredients that will give it flavor, such as meat, fish, or vegetables (and often a combination of things).
The primary flavor of a broth is often specified: chicken broth, beef broth, vegetable broth, etc.
For example, chicken noodle soup is traditionally made with chicken and noodles in a chicken broth.
But can broth be considered soup by itself?
Yes, in fact, when broth is eaten—even without any added ingredients—it is typically considered soup.
For example, a type of clear soup known as a consommé can be considered a broth if it is used as a base for the addition of other ingredients but a soup if it is eaten by itself.
Bisque vs. Soup
A bisque is a type of thick soup that uses cream as a main ingredient.
The term bisque is typically applied to soups that have some kind of shellfish or vegetable as the key ingredient.
Classic examples of bisques include lobster bisque, shrimp bisque, crab bisque, tomato bisque, and potato bisque.
While most people agree that bisque is a type of soup, some may distinguish creamy bisques from non-creamy soups in the same way that others distinguish liquid-forward soups from chunky stews.
Chowder vs. Soup
Chowder is a type of thick soup whose most traditional and well-known forms contain clams, fish, or other seafood, often in a creamy, milk-based broth and also featuring potatoes, onions, tomatoes, or other vegetables.
Different types of clam chowder are especially popular in the Northeast region of the US. Other examples of chowder include fish chowder, corn chowder, and potato chowder.
Most chowders are usually considered a type of soup, but their creamy thickness can also result in them being labeled as a stew.
Some people may take the hairsplitting even further and argue that chowder is its own unique thing in the same way that people distinguish soups from stews.

Cooking like a Sailor - New England Clam Chowder
However, a warm savory steam from the kitchen served to belie the apparently cheerless prospect before us. But when that smoking chowder came in, the mystery was delightfully explained. Oh, sweet friends! hearken to me. It was made of small juicy clams, scarcely bigger than hazel nuts, mixed with pounded ship biscuit, and salted pork cut up into little flakes; the whole enriched with butter, and plentifully seasoned with pepper and salt. - Moby Dick
Tumblr media
What Herman Meville describes here is a very famous New England dish - the clam chowder. A chowder is "a soup or stew of seafood (such as clams or fish) usually made with milk or tomatoes, salt pork, onions and other vegetables". Whilst there are different types of chowder, clam chowder is undoubtedly the best known. The definition of chowder varies depending on the part of the country, but most contain clams, potatoes, onions and some form of pork. Some use milk or another type of broth, but this type of dish was very popular on board ships where it was cooked and served in different ways. According to Savouring Gotham: A Food Lovers Companion to New York City, it is believed that New England chowder was introduced to the region by French, Nova Scotian or British settlers and became a common dish in the region around 1700. The chowder grew in popularity over the years and, according to What's Cooking America, was served in Boston as early as 1836 at Ye Olde Union Oyster House (the oldest continuously operating restaurant in the country).
But let's get to the recipe so you can cosy up at home with your copy of Moby Dick and enjoy a nice serving of clam chowder.
What do you need: 1 small onion 1 kilogram of salted pork 2 medium potatoes 1 1/2 cups of water 1 tin with about 200 grams of clams 1 bottle with about 350ml clam juice
1/8 teaspoon of pepper 1 1/2 cup of milk
To prepare:
cut the meat into pieces of about 2.5c and brown in a pan over a medium heat. Then set aside.
chop the onions and fry them in the pan, in the meantime cut the potatoes into small pieces and add them to the onions, cover with water and cook until the potatoes are soft.
add the clams and their juice and season with pepper. Cook over a medium heat until they are steaming.
Add 1 1/2 cups of milk. Heat over a medium heat for 5 minutes.
Add the meat and serve. Best eaten with ship's biscuits or fresh bread, if available.
Enjoy your meal.

Living with Their Fae! S/O
Type of Writing: Poll Result Characters: Jack Howl, Azul Ashengrotto, Rook Hunt, and Sebek Zigvolt Name: Living with Their Fae! S/O Original Poll Link: Here
A/N: This took a while to write and I apologize for that, but I do hope you enjoy this, hopefully, beautiful piece! When I originally wrote this, it was just how they met, but, I rethought it all, and this is when they're adults and have a future together, along with meeting their family. Anyways, enjoy!

🐺 Your family had moved from Briar Valley to the Shaftlands so they could get away from the pestering of the fae being against the humans due to their history
🐺 When Jack first met you, you were messing around with a small squirrel as his siblings spoke to you
🐺 Jack was warned by his parents that fae were people to not be messed with, but, watching as you calmly smiled at his siblings as they screwed around while the tree-rodent ate an acorn while hanging off your horn, he couldn't help but rethink it all
🐺 You and him both joined Night Raven College, and many wouldn't expect such a delicate soul to be friends, nonetheless lovers, with a many-described brute like Jack
🐺 He is an amazing boyfriend through-and-through
🐺 Once you guys graduated NRC, you and him finalized your relationship and met each others' parents, and, newsflash, they love you both, and they have an amazing co-parenting relationship with one another
🐺 When your relationship started, you both basically began courting, as both fae and beastman normally stay together for life, never leaving one another for another being
🐺 Does he want children? Oh sweet seven, yes he does
🐺 He helped raise his younger brother and sister, of course he loves, and is amazing around, children
🐺 While many go against it all, since you're a fae and he's a beastman, you both go against them all instead, and end up having around three-four children, one of whom has both fae and beastman qualities, while the others have one or the other
🐺 Jack adores his children to bits, but, since you grew up with strong magic, you end up being more lenient with how they rest, so, in summary, he's the strict dad, while you're the hang-loose parent

🐙 Azul met you because of a deal opportunity, and, seeing how prominent you were in the Diasomnia dorm, alongside Lilia Vanrouge and Malleus Draconia, he wanted your power
🐙 After his overblot, he did not want to speak to anyone outside the twins, since it only made him wonder why he did everything without real reasoning
🐙 Despite his wrongdoings, hearing you walk into his dorm-room with a small plate of clam chowder and request to speak, it shocked him to his core, why were you forgiving him?
🐙 It took a while, maybe around a few months, for him to actually realize you cared about him more than any friend would, and it made him embarrassed. It's not that he didn't like you back, but, you were a fae and he was a merman, nonetheless, a octo-mer, you were far superior to him in his eyes
🐙 This merman has a complicated relationship with his family, as his birth-father and his mother divorced and how his step-father has tried to fill the man's shoes, and how his grandmother lived away
🐙 But, when Crowley organized a 'Family Day' in order to give his students a day or relaxation and pleasure, to which he boasted on how generous he was, of course, and you both ended up running into one another with your families in tow
🐙 Surprisingly enough, they bonded quickly, with his step-father and your father speaking on how they moved away due to racial issues between fae and humans, in which Mr. Ashengrotto offered advice, and your mother and his two female family members spoke about you both
🐙 Once graduated, you and Azul began to work on building up Mostro Lounge and his mother's restaurant, and eventually, you married and began to sort out your lives more
🐙 As a powerful fae, you could use special spells to sort out your bodily form, and you settled on a near-matching mimic octopus form
🐙 When you found out you were having children together, it was completely coincidental, and in turn, you had two children, one who took on more of a fae-appearance and the other looked more like a merperson
🐙 You grew up with magic being a key-element in your life while he did not, he valued hard-work, so, he was trying to help raise his children while helping you be more of a strict person, despite you being far stricter than him

🏹 Rook first met you while scouting around the surroundings of Pomefiore in search of some of the new first years, and that was when he stumbled upon a stone, which led him to a panicking you
🏹 Ever since then, whenever Rook got bored, he would shoot you a message and meet you up in that very spot where he met you, and he found out he loved you when he looked over at your face and saw the moonlight reflect off your face
🏹 He gave you nicknames much like the other students at Night Raven College, though, your's were more romantic-sounding than the others, since he called you things like; "Mon trésor", "Mon ange", "Mon lapin", and "Ma fée"
🏹 This guy is a 10/10 boyfriend, much like Jack. That is because he always can tell what you are feelings, even if you have the slightest mood change, he's the first to notice it
🏹 Rook never really had anything work-wise planned when he started attending NRC, but, once he met and started his relationship with you, he began to get more into planning, and his main one was to be a Photographer of Wildlife, since he knew how to find and interact with different animals
🏹 You met Rook's family earlier on in the relationship, and to put it simply, they all adored you so much. His siblings mainly focused on your horns and whatnot that made you a fae, writing down everything they found out about the species
🏹 While many saw him as a red flag, you adored your hunter to smithereens, despite the fact that he basically hunted you during your time at NRC
🏹 When you guys graduated, he and you moved back into one of the many villas his family has in the Shaftlands, since you couldn't leave your family to far, though, after a bit of negotiating, you and him moved in the middle of the Shaftlands and Sunset Savannah, so you weren't far from either families
🏹 This guy definitely planned on having a larger family, since his was larger than average, and when you finished having children, there was around four to five in total, like I said, he planned on having a larger family
🏹 They were like Sebek in a way, since they were all half-fae, he even visits your home with the rest of the old Diasomnia group to teach the children more about fae heritage, since Rook teaches them more human things than anything
🏹 He is definitely the let-loose parent, not caring what they did as long as it didn't put themselves or others in danger, he knows limits. Because of him being the fun parent, you're the stricter one, handing out punishments to your children, and sometimes husband, when necessary

⚡ Sebek always held his fae-half to a higher regard than his human-half, and for some weird reason, that had upset you, one of the most prominent fae in Briar Valley
⚡ You knew a small amount about Sebek's family due to your grandfather and parents serving in the military with him by their sides, and they kept in contact even once the Fae vs Human war ended
⚡ When first meeting you, Sebek kept everything very platonic, showing no amount of romantic interest in anything, the closest he ever got to feeling beyond something more related to loyalty was when he defended and pledged his daily loyalty to Malleus
⚡ But one day, he had hit his curb. He was doubting himself because he hadn't gotten much better with his sword or magic, and that upset him because it reminded him that he was half-human, and it was stopping him, he was stopping him from impressing his grandfather
⚡ You had been walking by when you heard the soft tears and sniffs of the half-bred man, and when you appeared next to him and hugged him, he couldn't even put energy into telling you to leave him along, no energy was mustered to push you away either
⚡ After hearing how you loved his human side, despite many believing it made one weaker, he would become far gentler with you than he was with anyone else, even his own siblings
⚡ Sebek eventually pledged his loyalty and oath of love by one another until death a couple months after the first encounter, and when he heard you say yes and felt you kiss his human ears, he flushed the biggest amount of pink ever
⚡ When you met his family, you were far less nervous than him. He lived on acceptance from the people he cared about, especially his family
⚡ Needless to say, his parents and siblings adored you to oblivion, and when his grandfather spoke to you and smiled before giving you a small hug of trust, your boyfriend immediately knew, you were to be his one and only one
⚡ It took a while, but during graduation, Sebek popped the question of marriage and being together forever, which gained the attention of both his biological family, your family, and your shared Diasomnia family members
⚡ Sebek has planned his whole life out growing up, becoming a knight and serving Malleus until his death, but, he never expected to get married, nonetheless have any children
⚡ But, hearing that you were expecting, he lunged at you and cried the happiest tears you had ever seen, and when you guys finished, you had three children, one being a half-fae, and the others being full-blood
⚡ Unlike the past, Sebek always told his half-fae that they should embrace their humanity, as it was far more of a strength than they believed it to be
⚡ He's by far the strict parent, the one that dishes out punishments and scoldings when necessary, and you were the chiller one, the one they would go to speak about for advice on relationships, not that they didn't want to speak to their dad about that, you were just, less blunt to put it at best...

This is definitely not related to anything of the sort but what type of food would the Milo's make for MC/Eris?
Also not related, If V!Milo were to write a note on a lunchbox he made for Eris, what would it say?
Woaw this ask is kinda old. Sorry yuki lol.
PreMilo would probably make some simple but warm soups. Maybe like clam chowder or something. Maybe something like some bread or some pastries if he could.
Manipulation Milo would probably make sweets and follow those tik tok, youtube short videos. He'd basically follow the trends to make something that's simple but cool to look at. Hard to say if they'll actually taste good though.
Violence Milo would probably make some sort of meat dish, with veggies and other things. His is probably the most healthy food out of the three and he actually knows what he's doing. He knows how to cook the most out of the three of them.
Hmm, maybe he'd write something sweet but kind of awkward like "I hope you enjoy these, my [nickname], I put my blood and tears into it. Eat it all and I'll pick you up later."

Can you post your clam chowder recipe? I’ve been looking everywhere for a good one I can make for my mom
Here is my easy clam chowder recipe:
Ingredients:
2 cans cream of potato soup 2 cans cream of celery soup 2 can minced clams 4 cans worth of milk (or heavy cream) 4 slices of bacon 1 medium onion, chopped
Fry the bacon until crisp, then fry the onion in the bacon grease until it goes limp and kind of clearish. Drain the grease.
In a pot, mix the 4 cans of soup with 4 cans worth of milk or heavy cream. And I mean just use one of the empty soup cans to measure out the milk. You want to pour in the milk a little at a time while stirring to avoid lumps and keep an even consistency. Then add the clams (drain most of the juice), the chopped onion and the bacon. Cook over medium heat for at least 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. If you don't stir, stuff will get stuck to the bottom of the pot.
I like this recipe because it's pretty easy but still really tasty. I don't like knives, so I use a slap chop type tool for the onion and I cut the bacon with kitchen shears after it's done cooking (when it's really crispy, you can also just break it apart with your fingers).
Sometimes I use actual potatoes or make the cream based broth from scratch, but honestly I've rarely felt that the extra steps were really worth it.

Similarly, after becoming associated with Cruise, the style of [David] Miscavige’s life began to reflect that of a fantastically wealthy and leisured movie star. He normally awakens at noon, with a cup of coffee and a Camel cigarette. The coffee is fresh-ground Starbucks, preferably a Guatemala or Arabian Mocha Java, made with distilled water, to which he adds raw sugar and half-and-half. Then he takes breakfast, the first of his five meals. [...] Miscavige often starts with an omelet of one whole egg and five egg whites. Two and a half hours later, lunch is provided. Two choices would be prepared daily, for both him and his wife—four meals altogether. Miscavige prefers pizza, soup, and submarine sandwiches. Throughout the day cigarettes, bottled water, and protein bars are stationed wherever he might be working. Dinner is a five-course meal, and once again, dual entrées are prepared for him to choose from. Miscavige’s favorite foods include wild mushroom risotto, linguine in white clam sauce, and pâté de foie gras. Fresh fruit and vegetables are purchased from local markets or shipped in from overseas. Several times a week, a truck from Santa Monica Seafood brings Atlantic salmon, or live lobster, flown in fresh from the East Coast or Canada. Corn-fed lamb arrives from New Zealand. When guests such as Tom Cruise come to dinner, the kitchen goes into extravagant bursts of invention, with ingredients sometimes flown in from different continents. Two hours after dinner, the first evening snack arrives, with lighter offerings, such as Italian white bean soup or clam chowder. After midnight, there is a final late-night snack—a selection of nonfat cheeses, an apple crisp, or blueberry crepes, often garnished with edible flowers. Shelly usually preferred a fruit platter. She would drink only almond milk, which was made on-site from organic almonds. She insisted that all the food be consistent with the diet recommended for their blood type (both Shelly and David are type O). Two full-time chefs work all day preparing these meals, with several full-time stewards to serve them.

Hello!! So, I was just eating some potatoes, and had a question. What is your favorite type of potato food? What about our friends aboard the Netoansom?
Ahoy friend!! This is absolutely a contender for best question ever asked. I'm torn. I love a good ol' chip butty - [pictured for reference; who says the UK isn't a land of culture]
Tumblr media
Recently I've been trying to make dauphinoise potatoes but vegan (many would argue this takes away from the point of eating them. I have to agree so far in my experiments, but my god do I dream about making them good. Unfortunately Japan has very few options re: dairy replacements.) I'm now going to cheat and give my other answers to my characters :')
Alestes - Gut instinct is some kind of pie. Cornish pasty, maybe. Aloo pie? Curry puff? Something with meat, potato, spices and a pastry outer that's crispy and rich. Also something she can hold in one hand with a bevy in the other.
Baker - Cullen Skink (not around in his time but I think he would have loved it, or Clam chowder. Any soup that's thick, creamy and smokey with fish.)
Siva - I've never had it but I just watched this video on Aloo Bharta and making mashed potato + fried onion and chili and achar sounds so freaking good.
Noor - I just remembered the tastiest samosa I ever had, with the best coriander chutney I ever had, and I'm so sad I'm not eating it right now. Obviously Noor is Yemeni and not either Indian or Persian, but [cuts out lecture on foodways] I just saw this recipe for Sambuseh and am going to make these this week.
Inez - tortilla española. I think they would prefer sincebollistas and runny.
Anh - Vodka.
What potato food were you eating! And because I'm on a constant quest to eat more potato foods, if anyone has recommendations for potato recipes, please let me know!

I’m so low spoons from work it took me a couple hours to get around to making dinner so I just heated up can of New England clam chowder I bought a year ago and then I thought this would taste pretty good with crackers crumbled into it and pulled a box out of the cupboard before realizing at the very last moment that honey graham crackers are not the type of crackers that go with clam chowder

Thanks pally! I used my Ma's recipe, but she isn't really da type ta use all da fancy me-sure-ments, so I'll try ta make it a bit betta ta follow from what worked for me, AND dis one ya don't ned ta make roux, which makes dis wayyyy eas-e-er. AND AND it's ten times eas-e-er ta just use canned clams den' usin da fresh stuff an having ta make da clam juice yaself, even though fresh is betta.
CUT UP ALLA DA IN-GRE-DI-ENTS FIRST!!!!
2 handfuls onion- chop dem small-ish 2 handfuls celery- chopped a lil bigga than onion
Cook until dey soft an a lil see through. den add:
2 garlic cloves (REMEMBA TO REMOVE DA SKIN STUFF) palm-full of salt (just a lil mound in da center) same amount a time- dat dried green spice somethin' like 10 shakes of pepper
Den cook alla DAT for about a minute, an' afta add:
enough ve-ge-table broth ta cover da stuff in da pan an' then some Alla da juice in about 2 cans a chopped clams Da same ammount a half-n-half as clam juice, about a cup-ful two po-ta-toes cut up in pretty big chunks
Cook alla dese until da po-ta-toes start ta get soft, den take it offa da heat an' add da clams from da cans ya took da juice from. An' Dat's all!
ob-vi-us-ly, fresh clams are way betta, but a lot harder ta make chowda with since ya gotta cook em' an make clam juice with em' first an' stuff, so its betta to make it with da canned stuff da first time. I didn't do dat. an' it was rough.
as for sub-sti-tutes, dere isn't a whole lotta stuff ya can change. Dere's mo-di-fi-ca-shons! Like ya can add more or less a da juice, an' change how thick it is based on da kinda cream ya use, and ya can use different po-ta-toes or even a different broth if ya feelin' funky. AND ya can add all different types a bacon! AND AND YA SHOULD ALWAYS GET SOME OYS-TER CRACKERS TA EAT WITH IT. dat's it!
JUS' DON'T MAKE ANY A DAT FAKE CHOWDA WITH TO-MA-TO SAUCE AN WHATEVA IN IT!!! ITS WRONG AN' EVIL AND JUST ISN'T CHOWDAH NO MATTA WHAT DOSE MAN-HAT-AN NERDS SAY
