Summary: Three years ago, Emperor Tyrus Domitrian shocked the galaxy by killing the woman he promised to love forever. His former aspirations of paving the way to the Empire’s bright future has seemingly vanished. Tyrus now rules the galaxy with an iron fist: capable of controlling all the technology and Grandiloquy, he could destroy a planet with a single thought. However, whispers among the Excess begin to spread. They say Nemesis is not truly dead, but is back to take revenge on her former lover, now turned cruel tyrant. They say that Nemesis will rise and topple the oppressive government. They say that Nemesis lives.

Review: This book left me awe-struck. To get to the point, and to avoid spoilers, this series had me wrapped around Kincaid’s finger. I was fully enveloped in this story, and I was shocked each time the plot twisted and turned. With other books I have read in the past, I can usually predict the direction of the story and/or the ending. When reading this trilogy, I was completely incapable of doing so. I would like to applaud Kincaid and her writing; it was seamless and ever-evolving and kept me intrigued throughout this series. A motif that stood out to me was the control of fate. Though Nemesis and other diabolics were designed in a lab to be ruthless killers, they still have human qualities that make them more than a lab-made monster. They possess free will, emotional intelligence, and the capability to love. The diabolics’ origins did not determine who they are, or determine their fate. Nemesis’s journey through discovering her humanity and finding love was beautiful and inspiring. Like Nemesis, we as people have the strength to blossom and grow despite our past.

Brax - As you know, Brax is an eminently fancy human, so they’d be very stylish and luxurious in making their quarters like their old apartment. Brax’s tastes run…expensive, since they appreciate high-quality things. Silk sheets, scented candles, rich jewel-toned velvet couches and foot-stools - they would especially invest in their collection of books. Being a massive bookworm, they would prefer shelf upon shelf of finely bound books surrounding them at all times. They would invest in some dimming lights. They would also invest in a more orthopedic chair for their desk (because hours of paperwork is a bitch and a half on one’s neck), honestly, Tyrus Legion bases have poor taste in chairs, in their personal opinion. 

Cobi - His first change would be adding a nice big window you can actually open, cause he’s an outdoorsy boy and needs a lot more natural sunshine in his personal space. Cobi would add lots more goofy queer decor, banners and throw pillows and stuff. Cobi would also add little bright and colorful bits and bobs cause he’s a little magpie - souvenirs, prizes he won at fairs, photographs of pals and family, just…would like lots of room to scatter his stuff. A big space to live his big life in his big body. He would also have little things for pets since Cobi loves pets! So, towers for cats, beds for dogs, all the amenities for his furry friends. Speaking of friends, Cobi would appreciate big couches and deep-sinking-into chairs, floofy poofs to sit on, lots of surfaces for friends to sit down on and just chill. Oh, he’d also have so many mini-fridges and snack-bars, just a multitude of every kind of food-stuff a loved one would enjoy. 

Claudia - While Claud certainly is a sporty gal and a very tough butch, she is also a nerd at heart and wants her sanctum sanctorum to be a place of goofing and security. It’s harder for her to invest in creature comforts unless she’s being very indulgent, but given the resources, she’d have a real little nerd-cave! She’s extremely into video games, so when she’s not doing jock shit, Claud likes to turn off her brain by focusing on a nice little puzzle task that’s also fun. Her room would have a nice little gaming console set up, one of those cool gaming desk chairs, the whole shebang. Claud would do cool neons and interesting mood-lighting, with cool blues and greens to give a underwater glow vibe to the room. She would also buy lots of organizing furniture (like shoe racks or hat hooks) that neaten the space up but still keeps her stuff on display. She would put up a lot of posters of the video games and action films she likes best, especially the vintage dorky ones from the 80’s/90’s. 

Sarai - One thing Sarai takes very, very seriously is softness and permission to be soft. So her personal space is an area she has tried her utmost to cultivate that softness. Because of her disabilities, Sarai would prefer to make anything and everything as accessible as possible. She is still in the process of shedding shame over needing assistance, so she would have railings and grabbable-things to help with standing and walking around, plenty of room for her chair, etc. She would have one of those fancy motorized beds, a large bathtub with jets and stairs and shit. Sarai is also a very luxurious person at heart and an aesthete, so she would splurge on gorgeous silky throw blankets and tasseled pillows, painted lampshades, elaborately embroidered drapes for the windows and doorways, just every surface alight with warm, ripe-fruit colors. Deep, soft, sheepskin rugs on every surface so every step is warm and soft. Just deep indulgence to remind herself she deserves rest and softness, a refuge for when she forgets. 

Jorah - In general, Jorah is kind of…straightforward and spartan in his personal tastes, super uhhh CisHet Guy oops more like he has sunk deep into a persona of being as Normie and Unobjectionable As Possible but that is neither here nor there. He doesn’t have a lot of personal touches in his home decor, for lack of a better word, and since he’s literally on a military base, he would prefer to let his Job Aesthetic dominate his personal space (it’s to help Compartmentalize, shh, think nothing of it.) So, you will see a lot of greytone…Adidas-esque aesthetics. Plain, hotel-esque bedclothes and furniture, expensive enough to be good quality but not unique, really? He doesn’t really care, as long as none of the style hokey or faux pas. Nice, respectable, businessman chic. Jorah would maybe splurge on some bougie exercise gear, nice shoes, good selection of athleisure, etc. He isn’t much the type to decorate a room, more his body. But he would probably invest in a nice fucking shower with perks, jets and all, because, damnit, this job is stressful sometimes and hey, decompressing lets him do his job better and high water pressure sure helps him relax and gets the blood out from under his nails.

24 Hands is a printmaking collective of Florida Gulf Coast printmakers founded by Marjorie Greene Graff. The group has regular exhibitions throughout the year at various locations in the area.

Currently at Brooker Creek Preserve's Education Center in Tarpon Springs is Nature Inspired, another exhibition of work by the 24 Hands collective.

From the exhibition-

For “Nature Inspired”, the artists visited Brooker Creek Preserve in March 2022 and March 2023 to strategize the exhibit and hike around the Preserve. Their love for Brooker Creek and nature has been inspiring and their work represents a variety of approaches from comical to realist to aesthetic abstraction. The exhibition includes prints by: Holly Bird, Saumitra Chandratreya, Tyrus Clutter, Elizabeth Coachman, Marjorie Greene Graff, Mary-Helen Horne, Stephen Littlefield, Ry McCullough, Polly E. Perkins, Christine Renc-Carter, and Rachel Stewart.

The novel I wrote this year is in the hands of beta readers who will provide me with valuable feedback in regards to my world, characters and story, as well as the flow of my writing. It's exciting but also quite scary!

I made a little moodboard aesthetic for this novel a while back and figured, why not share it here too? So here it is, the aesthetic of Project OBWB!

Here's a little something to give you an idea about what my novel (a YA Fantasy) is about:

Tyrus—a soon to be sixteen-year-old boy—lives alone in a frozen lighthouse, surrounded by myths and fairy tales of owls, magic and seasons. But when one night, a feathered visitor crashes through one of his windows, he discovers those myths aren’t just stories, they’re real. Together with the many friends he makes along the way, he embarks on a magical journey to end the eternal Winter that plagues his world, to bring back the dancing seasons of ages lost.

I can't wait to share this story (and the many other stories in my mind) with the world when the time comes! First, there will be another edit round and some proof reading and then the querying process to find an agent will follow!

Continuing on with my Choices ideas for books from my banned Reddit account, here is "Willow Falls":

When you and your college class take a trip to the beautiful town of Willow Falls, you feel as though you've find your little piece of Heaven. But when night descends and a mysterious presence prevents you from leaving, you'll have to uncover what's going on, and you better do it during the day--because no one knows what will plague you during the night.

Gameplay: your choices matter. In this horror-fantasy story with steamy moments, you'll have to save yourself and those around you from falling prey to the witches' grasp. If you play your cards right, you'll survive and save the town from evil.

LIs:

Atrium Rodchester--a handsome and cool loner who befriends you after you rescue his brother. He's a trained actor and local of Willow Falls, and these skills help him navigate his way through town even when it's turned upside down. (Caucasian, fashion sense is metrosexual with a touch of leather.)

Lialla Reyez, a rebellious girl who comes from a conservative family. Her goal was to run away, but now that she's stuck in Willow Falls, she has some time to think about what she wants. Maybe you can help her with that. (Hispanic, casual fashion with an emphasis on a blue color scheme)

Tyrus Stone, a mysterious local who seems to know more than what he's letting on. It's eventually revealed that he has incubus heritage that exhibits itself into a playful and flirty personality. His powers and his looks makes him a prime target for the witches' lust. (African-American, upscale fashion, very sophisticated)

Iris Song--a witch who casted the fog curse, summoning the monsters that come out of them. Constantly bullied and taken advantage of by others, she's convinced that cursing the town will free her of her troubled past. But when your class arrives, she feels guilt that she dragged innocent people into the situation. (Chinese, eccentric and loud fashion that lets you know who you're dealing with).

Richard Jeong, a charming, but altogether selfish community member and socialite whose only goal is to get out of Willow Falls--even if that means letting go of those he loves. It'll be hard to get him on your side, but if you can, you can learn how to manipulate the town's mob justice--and maybe change his heart. (Korean, somewhat of an indulgent yet practical fashion sense).

Eleanor Swift--a prisoner of the witches' dragon. Her power over memory is exploited to prevent outsiders from knowing about the town unless the witches deem them worthy. She may be the key to solving the conflict between the witches and the humans--but her imprisonment has embittered her. Take head if you wish to make her your ally, for whose side she's on is anyone's guess. (Native American, rags originally, but changed to a librarian aesthetic.)

Twist: one night, you find there is no plague on the town. Later, you discover this is not true, as you and a small handfull of others have been cursed with magic, part of the witches' goal of turning the humans against each other--not to mention get their biggest enemies out of the way.
