This is a followup to my reblog of the post suggesting starting small with exercise -- I know getting out to walk isn't always possible for a variety of reasons, so I want to recommend my favorite exercise channel, Improved Health. (She also has a channel for seated exercises for people who need to sit while working out.)

I love these videos because they come in a wide variety of lengths and intensities, they're all low-impact, and have a large variety of exercises that don't neglect arm movements, which has really helped with the tension I tend to carry in my back and shoulders. I also love that the majority of them are also no talking. I can concentrate on moving instead of having to pay attention to a constant stream of chatter. All of the most recent (within the past year or so) videos have picture-in-a-picture previews of the next exercise so you know what's coming up and how to do it.

I know the video titles might be offputting -- there's a lot of 'for weight loss' in there and 'secrets of longevity' and other sensationalist nonsense, but it's all for gaming the algorithm. I have yet to encounter any of that in the videos themselves, even with the motivational quote text (which is pretty cheesy sometimes, but reminders that exercise is not a punishment for what you eat are always good to see).

So yeah, I thought I should pass this channel on since it was a huge help for me last winter and the northern hemisphere is getting to that time again. I wish I'd run into it a lot sooner since a lot of the exercise channels on YouTube just kind of suck (like Leslie Sansone's endless pointless chatter and deadly dull movesets), and the more fun ones tend to be too fast or moderate-to-high impact, which would injure me -- but I can't NOT exercise, so I've suffered through a lot of mind-numbing condescending chipper bullshit packed full of catchphases.

NUH UH. As an experienced bucket lover, i can not be silent as someone's insulting my favourite metal object. The bucket is itself the greatest companion ever given to us, mortal humans.

Have you ever seen that shiny metal? Felt how smooth it is?! And it has STICKERS! If that didn't convince you to like it, I don't know what will...

The bucket will give you so much comfort no human being will, it is called 'a reassurance bucket' for a reason. It fits perfectly in your arms, it cools you down in summer when it's too hot, it can even help you carry objects around, so you won't be uncomfortable!!!!

Alas I can't make you love it as it is a personal opinion, however i will not stand any hatred towards that... Majestic object

If you ever have to read a book for a school assigment or something, and don't feel like doing so, here's my personal hack for you

Read fanfiction

Read fanfiction about the book, latch onto a blorbo or two, and the rest comes to you

And if you're still not motivated, write fanfic about them

Since you haven't read the source material, now you have to, so you can portray the characters and their lore accurately

Because proper writers do their research, right?

Bonus tips:

Try to latch onto a main character, so you have a lot of canon content of them, therefore the reading comes easy

OR/AND

Try to latch onto a very minor character, so you'll force yourself to push through the book as fast as possible so you can reach the part where said character appears

Aww, thank you! It's time to reveal something about KONAN! His eyes are up there, btw XD

1) He is a former Navy SEAL and an MMA fighter. This telling Konan is all about physicality and endurance. He loves good challenges and never misses a chance to improve his body mobility. His army mates are still his only family. (Roland, I'm looking straight at you :D)

2) Konan was born in Sulani, left his heart to the ocean. He is proficient in surfing and finds fishing calming. After the war, he worked as a fisherman on a ship in the Atlantics. Survived several storms and saw that the ocean returned his feelings.

3) He plays the guitar and drums, goes nuts about good old Metal and Epic and finds any other music genre void of power and spirit.

4) Konan's religion is shamanism. He is prone to ancient rituals, listening to the wind and waves and trusting Mother Nature. That's why he never parts with his amulets and can predict the weather or survive any cataclysm.

5) He comes from a very poor family that had to move from place to place in a van and live like hippie-gipsies. Since being a boy, he detested rich and important people and believed they were all corrupted meaningless shells. He changed his mind when he met Arwin, his new source of inspiration and trust in people.

From me I can only add that Arwin has no idea how he managed to return Konan trust in people being either depressed or anxious about his relationships with Aidan most of the time they spent together :D
