*gripping my hands so hard on a young trans persons shoulders that their bones are about to break*
do not log on to 4chan.com. do not get involved in passing olympics. you will always lose. do not put afab/amab* in your bio, that is cisgender society trying to know your “real” gender. you do not exist to please cisgender people. there is no ‘right’ way to be trans. learn your goddamn history, listen to your elders. listen to other disenfranchised groups. listen to intersex people and check yourself for intersexism. listen to trans poc and check yourself for racism. listen to disabled people and check yourself for ableism. be open to learning always. labels are meant to fit you, not the other way around. you are not weird or predatory for simply being attracted to others. you’re fine if you’re not a skinny white twink or a barbie doll. you’re fine if your body is ‘weird’. you’re fine if you don’t have heavy or any dysphoria. it’s okay if you actually don’t want to transition or anything like that. life is worth living at any stage, you deserve to be happy. I SWEAR THAT YOU ARE OKAY!!!!!
*ok editing this bc i think there are some major misunderstandings here and also ignorance on my part so lemme clear the air. when i wrote “don’t put tme/tma” in ur bio i did NOT mean to say that discussions around transmisogyny aren’t important or that tme/tma cannot be helpful terminology, and i’m super sorry that it came off that way. also editing bc someone pointed out to me that the original phrasing of this post is very misinforming, so to also clarify, tme/tma was a term invented by transfems to talk about transfeminine experiences which i will admit that i was unfamiliar with the history of tme/tma as a term and was introduced to it through some really bad online queer discourse. but it’s always been of my opinion that discussion around all forms of bigotry, including transmisogyny, are important and need to be had. i explained in a rb, which i’ll link when i have more time, that my issue was with the way the term is used as only identification/oppression olympics rather than genuine nuanced discussion about the ways that transphobia/transmisogyny/transandrophobia/etc function and interact with each other. i advised young trans people to not put tma/tme in their bios, bc i know that the wrong people (not just cis people, but transphobes and assholes who just want to get under your skin) would use any indication of your direction of transition to try and misgender you. or specifically in the case of tma/tme, tell you that your experiences/thoughts are not valid or reasonable bc you were tma or tma.
i realize how not originally clarifying that makes me look stupid (and a transmisogynist), so seriously, i’m sorry for that major mishap. tma/tme are not inherently bad words and you are 1000% allowed to use whatever terminology fits you and your experiences best. so as another word of advice: please do not let some rando on the internet tell you how you should talk about your experiences
(also idgaf if you don’t “log on” to 4chan or that it’s “not a website”, the fact that any of you know that is shameful and upsetting)

it's genuinely insane just how much queer infighting starts and ends with people being mortified at the idea of having to Share.
share words, share experiences, share spaces, share the internet.
at least kindergartners are fighting over physical toys that Exist. people on this site are going blue in the face fighting over sharing Concepts. Ideas. things that will literally never, for as long as anyone lives, be in short supply.

Can we take a moment to think about the younger trans men and mascs on tumblr right now?
I was a teenager when ace and transmed discourses were at their peaks, and I can’t exaggerate how badly it affected me then.
Now trans men are the latest target, and I’m terrified for trans kids.
It’s easy to say “intracommunity discourse is an online problem! Go talk to queer people irl!”, but people forget that so many kids and teenagers do not have safe or reliable access to IRL LGBT+ communities and support groups. For many, online spaces are the only option.
We need to make sure the younger members of our community are being heard, and block out the hateful voices with messages of support and encouragement. Things are bad enough for trans people right now, and it's easy to forget that trans minors are often the ones suffering the most.
To any younger trans men or transmasculine people reading this:
The hate you are experiencing isn’t normal, it hasn’t always been like this, and it won’t always be this way. It is bleeding out from a small, miserable group of self-absorbed jerks.
Don’t feel obligated to call them out, don’t feel like you have to interact with these people. Please don’t doomscroll through discourse tags; it will make you feel like everyone is out to get you.
If you want to speak up for your community, that’s fine, but please take a break if you feel like your mental health is worsening. Block anybody who so much as breathes rudely in your direction.
You’re just as trans as the rest of us. You are welcome here.
Oh, and if you want to seek out external resources and groups, PFLAG helped me a lot when I was younger. It is an American-based organization, however, so if anyone has recommendations for those living outside of the US, please let me know in the reblogs!

if your (trans-)feminism inherently excludes any minority group on the basis that one of their immutable traits makes them inherently evil, you are not a transfeminist. you are LARPing as one, but you aren't doing jack shit that has to do with feminism.
this includes trans people, nonbinary individuals, trans guys and transmascs, trans gals and transfems, intersex people (with or without any trans identity), gnc individuals, black trans people, brown trans people, asian trans people, indigenous trans people— and any combination of these.
if you exclude any group of people from your transfeminism or activism, you are not an activist. you are trying to seem like a good person while clinging desperately to your own hateful, putrid ideals. get better and over yourself

Btw about the new Unity pricing policy
Tumblr media
Pretty sure if Team Cherry announces that they are delaying the game a couple of years, or maybe even canceling it outright due to this bullshit, Unity office will get pipebombed within a week. And rightfully so.

"Notice how force masc themes copy a lot of force femme themes" "The mlm flag is just a copy of the lesbian flag"
It's because we LOVE you!! It's because we are paying an homage to you!! We aren't creeps stealing from you!! We are your friends!! Your family!! Experiencing queerness with you and beside you!! We are not the opposite of each other!! We are compliments of each other!!
Through horrid circumstances, you've only been able to find solace in groups of people who are just like you. The people who hurt you, including the men, should have done better. But that's not everyone's experience! Trans men and trans women have enjoyed playing with femininity and masculinity through kink with eachother since forever! If you're given the opportunity to branch out to more open communities and you're able to voice your needs in these communities, then I hope you do. Because we are not strangers snatching your culture. We have been there since you have been there too.

common talking points (that i want to blow up with psychic brain powers)
"the, uh, the feminine 'trans man/masc' with long hair who doesn't bind and isn't on hrt and doesn't voice train"
is valid and cool. also fuck you. also 100 more like him rather than even one more vile, transphobic, exclusionist snake like you
"these fucking xenogenders with three alternating sets of neopronouns who whine if you can't get it right"
hey, fuck you, again. but also why the fuck are you not enthused by people coming with terminology they like for themselves? why is that something you oppose? also, you do know that using singular they/them as the default for nonbinary pronouns is relatively recent, and that prior to that the default was ze/hir, although they/them was also used, right? no? you're just enjoying the chance to be the "normal person" hating on the "weird people" even though it's your own community and allies? oh, that's fucking cool.
"transmascs are uniquely capable of transmisogyny/transition into privilege/ are the weak link of the trans community"
first, yk, fuck you fuck you fuck you fuck you. ive tried so many ways to demonstrate that this is a shitty shitty awful hurtful way of thinking, that it harms all trans people... maybe ill try a parable, like my man jc.
there was a man and two dogs. the man owned a dog fighting ring, and he would constantly put the two dogs against one another, and charge others to watch, allow them to place bets, etc. he did this daily for a long period of time. whichever dog lost he would beat, and whichever won he would reward.
why would one of the dogs hate the other, and not the man? because the other dog fought them? because if the dog won, they would be beaten?
does this work, as a metaphor? does that make sense? let me tell you something: i live in the American South, and just over the past couple of days i have seen actual disgusting transphobia lobbed at all trans people. my own peers talking about killing all trans people, and direct insults. they do not fucking care about what flavor of trans you are, they just fucking hate you anyway. and if you're using your time and your influence to shit on your own allies on your own trans siblings, to try to say they have it better than you, to insult them and try to decide what terminology a group you're not fucking part of gets to use to describe their own experiences, you are part of the problem. fuck you. use your influence to help others, and don't demonize people for defending themselves against you. transmascs are not the fucking "weak link of the trans community. " exclusionists like you are. bigots want to destroy us, to divide and hurt us. STOP DOING THEIR FUCKING WORK FOR THEM.

"trans people can be transphobic too" is absolutely true, I see it every day
but you guys Do realize that acting like being attracted to and wanting to date a trans person is inherently fetishizing, that it's Impossible to want to do that while seeing trans people as fully realized autonomous People, Is Also Transphobia
and it gets Especially weird when you apply it to other trans people blindly, as if there's No Reason for a trans person to be drawn to trans bodies (or Get This, to be more Comfortable with other trans people in a relationship) beyond being a chaser
whether someone is a fetishist or a chaser or not literally has nothing to do with whether they're attracted to trans people, it has to do with how they TREAT trans people. in much the same way being in a relationship doesn't make someone an abuser, abusing your partner does.
if being attracted to cis bodies is a neutral act but being attracted to trans bodies is a red flag then that's Saying Something About How You See Trans Bodies

Please stop forgetting nonbinary people!
Theyfab isn't a transmasc-specific slur. It's always been used against any nonbinary person assumed to be AFAB.
Though the AGAB of nonbinary people is nobody's business in the first place, it bears repeating that not every AFAB nonbinary person is transmasculine, just as not every AMAB nonbinary person is transfeminine.
These bigots aren't just transphobic towards trans men/mascs, they're exorsexist as well. We'll be stronger if we stick up for each other and push back against them together!
Edit: Just to make it clear, theyfab is being used against transmascs as well! I just want people to also acknowledge the non-transmasc nonbinary people being hurt.
