So... I appear to have blacked out last night, and woke up with this open on my computer
Is... Is this something anyone would actually play?
@ayviedoesthings is the creator of the temporary background I'm using, though if this does end up getting fully developed, the cave would be a visit-able location
Edit: wait it’s @nyxisart who did the background! My bad!

Lads I have made yet another videogame. This one was for an assignement so it's not as polished or "content-rich" as Kenikari and it won't receive any chapter updates or anything like that, but you can play it on browser and it's just a few minutes! :D
There's also a spanish version / También hay una versión en español

You know you're absolutely playing a sim/tycoon/factory game right when it starts to drop below 10fps purely from the amount of entities you have on screen
#I've been playing a bunch of Voxel Tycoon#I am certainly not playing it correctly though lmao. I've started razing neighbourhoods to the ground to build subway lines#the game does not really have a subway option. so there's just giant holes in the ground with a train station in it. then tunnels in betwee#the actual focus of the game is making craftables not passenger transport but I'm truely a cities skylines girlie at heart#like theres busses but they're so fuckin boring and the station radius is so very very small#Just realised I'm basically roleplaying as an early 20th century american city planner lol#lmao shut up haz#I'm sure the game could absolutely support more stuff. I'm just playing on a laptop capped at something like 2.5ghz#so anything unity based runs like dogshit because the number of cycles spent on scripted entities balloons so much faster#yall are not _ready_ for the factorio screenshots I'll start posting once i have a thicc gaming PC

Playtest Early Playtest Often 🎮
I created a short build of my game for friends and family to check out and see what they think about the game.
This wasn't easy to do emotionally!
I couldn't help but think of all the problems my game still has, or the rough edges that I am sure would annoy people. It felt to raw to really show people... But I did it anyway.
Here is why
I found out that a number of players were confused by the numbers placed over the towns. This number indicates how many passengers on your train want to go to a certain location. It was obvious to me, the person who designed and coded it. But not to others. If I continued on and waited to test my game, this information could have been lost and lead to further player confusion. But early playtesting nipped it in the bud.
Now I know I need to make this information more clear and change how it is displayed. Then in the next update not only will the game be more fun, and less buggy. It will also be more intuitive and understandable, thanks to my playtesters.

Break Siege: Experience Deckbuilding Like Never Before

Break Siege train-themed deckbuilding roguelike game hits Linux and Windows PC. Thanks to the creative minds at FojoGames, gameplay bursts with fresh ideas and nonstop excitement. Which you can now find on Steam Early Access. If you live for the thrill of roguelike deckbuilding, Break Siege is about to hijack your playlist — and trust me, you won’t want to miss this ride. Developed by the passionate post-80s indie crew at FojoGames and published by Edigger, Break Siege releases into Early Access at 11:00 PM PT today with a bang — and yes, the game runs on Linux too. So fellow Tux warriors, you’re all set for this one. Now, this isn’t just another deckbuilder with a pixel-art coat of paint. Break Siege throws you into a real-time, adrenaline-pumping battle where your reflexes matter just as much as your strategy. Think Slay the Spire — but if it was strapped to a runaway train, dodging missiles in space, and didn’t wait for your turn.
The Setup: Interstellar Trains. Ruthless Enemies. No Brakes.
Here’s the pitch: You’re the commander of an interstellar train, on a mission to deliver vital cargo across war-torn planets. Sounds simple, right? Well, not when heavily armed enemy checkpoints block your way and death’s breathing down your neck from behind. Enemies don’t politely wait for your next move — they attack in real time, and new ones are constantly flooding the battlefield. Every second counts. Every decision can make or break your run. It’s like playing chess on a ticking time bomb.
Break Siege Launches in Steam Early Access

Real-Time Strategy Meets Roguelike Deckbuilding
Forget slow turns — Break Siege turns tactical card combat into a high-speed, edge-of-your-seat brawl. Each train has its own special playstyle, card pool, and tech — unlocking new cards, upgrading your ride, and choosing from tons of random events as you progress. You can customize your locomotive with chaotic enhancements, load up new turrets, and build decks that range from surgical precision to full-blown chaos.
Infinite Deck Possibilities + Rogue-Like Mayhem
Whether you’re stacking brute-force damage or setting up wild energy loops, Break Siege gives you all the tools to build your perfect death machine. Unlock new cards through battles, random loot, and event rewards, then level up your train with powerful upgrades. Oh, and did I mention mercenaries? Yeah. You’ll meet a wild cast of allies along the way who’ll hop aboard and bring their own flavor to the fight. Some runs might go smooth. Others? Pure chaos. That’s the beauty of roguelike randomness.
Break Siege is Only $13.49 at Release — Grab It Before the Price Jumps!
Which also releases globally on Steam Early Access, it’ll come with a special $13.49 USD / £10.79 / 12,59€ release discount, but only for the first 14 days. sorry for the assassin's creed spam. AC 1-3 was extremely my shit when I was like 15? and seeing it on my dash caused a case of the ol' nostalgia
#btw everything after those games... not so much my thing sorry#i tried black flag and... hm i know ppl like that one but i didn't vibe with it. same with unity. never finished them#never played those newer more rpg-esque ones either. idk what's going on with those#but i played syndicate somewhat recently and actually enjoyed it!#it doesn't carry the same magic as ac 1-3 for me and tbh the story was mid to kind of ass#but i enjoyed the gameplay well enough and oh man the steampunk aesthetic. you can always get me with steampunk#(i know it's an actual victorian setting but we all know how ac is with historical accuracy. so it's steampunk to me lol)#especially that fuckass train that's always driving through the map... mwah i love the train base sm

Saint Nerevar’s Companions
Queen Almalexia ☆ Alandro Sul ☆ Sotha Sil ☆ King Dumac ☆ Voryn Dagoth ☆ Vivec
Aka I’ve seen so many people described as his close companions, I’m convinced it’s an allegory atp.
Headcanons/Straight up fanfic about these relationships
Almalexia
I feel like her ruthless/soft duiality was there from the beginning, but she never showed the latter due to being afraid of any sort of vulnerability. I think maybe she was threatened by rumors of some upstart warrior preaching unity and organizing on her land and she might have even tried to kill him. I think then Nerevar would drop everything and march up to her castle dropping a blade of the assassin by her feet. Almalexia would ask "What else is a queen to do in a situation like this?" Maybe Nerevar says “A queen is to elect a general.” To which Almalexia would respond “It I would be scandalous to elevate and outsider to such a prestigious role.” Then Nerevar would go like “Then we’ll have to remedy that.” with bedroom eyes etc etc. I think maybe she was able to feel vulnerable around him for the first time, which scared her. Also possibly what here corruption spiral was about that she got from the tools. Something about expecting Nerevar to betray her first. And then later her motherly nature as a god is another mask on top of her ruthless self so she could be in total control.
Alandro Sul:
We do not know much about him but I suspect he met Nerevar when he was uniting the Ashlander tribes. I personally see one of the tribe tasks be something like defeating Alandro Sul in battle of honor, which proved his strength and resolve. I like to also think that like the claim that he was Azura's son is mainly because he was serving her to the very end, pursuing the tribunal after what happened at red mountain.
Sotha Sil:
In my mind's eye he was very reclusive and resigned due to a chronic and potentially terminal illness(an interpretation of his childhood) and perhaps offered to help Nerevar who was traveling with Vivec at the time with magical aspects of their adventures? something something, navigating ancestral tombs and dealing with daedric shrines. Maybe he taught Vivec to read and write? Idk I see Nerevar inspiring Sil to feel life and passion again. I picture his corruption train of thought to be that despite his resignation as a sagely character prepared for his fate, he still wanted to live so much and seeing godhood as his way to do it.
Dumac:
We don't know much about him but I think that perhaps he enjoyed Nerevar's company precisely because he wasn't highborn and knew of other places in the world. I picture them playing some kind of strategy board game and having long conversations. Nerevar would intently listen to everything Dumac would say about the Dwemer society(He was eager for his society to thrive too) and that intrigued Dumac. At some point he was spilling secrets he was not supposed to, and I think when Dumac realize that Nerevar did not expose that information to anyone, that he could really trust him. I think maybe he was one of the few people that Nerevar expressed doubt about not feeling confident enough to accomplish his task of unification causing Dumac to commission the Moon-and-Star ring which turned out to be a placebo, because Nerevar already had what it took. (Seriously the stats on that ring are hilarious)
Voryn Dagoth:
So before meeting Nerevar, he was a leader in his own right and a powerful mage. I feel like the way they met was: Nerevar wanted an in with the dwarves but he needed an introduction. House Dagoth was supposedly the only house the Dwemer had good relations with and so Nerevar went to Kogoruhn. I think his house would be very very traditional and uptight, without any nonsense but sort of had a strange nobility to it. Nerevar would aproach Voryn and before he would even say anything, Voryn would straight up go "Are you just here to butter me up for a reference" and Nerevar would go "So it's not working?" And I think this sort of like honest disregard for procedure and playfully terrible diplomacy is what drew him in. Eventually he would soon go from a solemn, responsible leader, to Nerevar's servant wrapped around his finger. Nerevar's advances at first would be treated without any regard for the longest of time. "I'm not your wife" Voryn would say and then one day he found himself by Nerevar's side, ready to move mountains for him. And his corruption would be around being tired of feeling like a servant and wanting to feel more equal to him.
Vivec:
I like to picture him having like a Senpai/Kouhai thing with Nerevar with a serious case of hero worship.(Based on even his name being inspired by Nerevar) To me, before ages made him the person we meet in Morrowind, he had sort of the same vibe as a kid that got famous online too soon and too far, stunting hisdevelopment in weird ways. Maybe Nerevar saw the potential in him and asked Sotha Sil to teach him how to read and write. Maybe after a lifetime spent as a brute, his creativity exploded leading to him eventually becoming worthy of being Nerevar's advisor. I do think that at first it was Vivec reading a bunch of bad poems to them and Nerevar encouraging him. And his corruption would probably have to do with wishing for Nerevar's spotlight. Like I feel like Vivec was not a balanced and wise sounding god figure for the longest of time judging by his writing and what people say about him. I also like to picture him and Almalexia competing for Nerevar's attention.
Anyway, that's what I've got, feel free to add or correct or anything.
#Morrowind#the elder scrolls#indoril nerevar#almalexia#sotha sil#vivec#Voryn Dagoth#Dagoth Ur#Dumac#Alandro Sul#suggestive#beautiful game with beautiful lore and here i am zeroing in on the slash again#sigh#MyArtTag

Unity
Fandom: Star Wars - The Acolyte
Pairing: Qimir x GN!Reader
Summary: You wake up on an unknown planet with a powerful Force wielder offering to help you hone in on your Force abilities.
Qimir Masterlist
You wake with a jolt, your eyes wide and filled with fear. You slowly sit up and take in your surroundings. You're in a cave but you're not sure where or why. You think back on what you remember last: Qimir showing up, him leading you to his ship, and then darkness.
"What the kriff, Qimir?" you mumble to yourself. You slide out of the makeshift bed and take a look around. Light shines through the crevices of the cave. There's another bed spread a short distance from yours as well as a pot with some sort of stew in it.
"You're awake," you hear a deep modulated voice and you turn. A man donning a black cloak and helmet stands in the entrance of the cave.
You gulp and ask, "Where's Qimir?"
"Off on a mission."
"And Mae?"
"Both of them are on a mission."
"...so we're alone," you state with a hint of fear.
The man cocks his head to the side, "I'm sure Qimir has told you I promised not to hurt you. I intend to keep my word."
He slowly stalks towards you. The hair on the back of your neck stands in alertness as he begins to circle around you. Your fists are clenched and you're trying to keep a level head.
"You're afraid," the masked stranger states.
"I was knocked out and taken to a mysterious planet and now have a powerful Force wielder circling me like an ice vulture. Anyone with a sensible brain would be afraid."
"You came willingly."
You can't help but scoff, "Qimir and Mae both stated that if I didn't go to you, you would come to me. I'd rather go to you than risk those around me of potential danger."
"Admirable, yet you're still afraid." With a flick of the stranger's wrist, a pot comes hurling your way, and you hold out your hand to cover your face. The impact doesn't come as the pot is suspended in the air.
You gasp, stepping back and dropping your hand, resulting in the pot to collapse to the ground with a clang. You immediately look back at the man who continues to stare at you. His helmet has no visor. You're not sure how he can see. It's crafted in a way that it creates some sort of devilish smile that leaves you unsettled.
"You possess a great ability. It's a shame you've gone this long unable to properly wield it."
"I'm not interested in being a Jedi-"
"Who said I was a Jedi?" you don't answer and he continues, "I can teach you the ways of the Force that aren't restrictive like the Jedi. I can help you reach your full potential. You have a gift, Y/N, you should learn how to use it. Let me help you," he holds out his hand and you look at it.
Your brows furrow and you suddenly look up, remembering that very same hand reached out to you, the very same hand that lead you up the ramp to the ship. That hand that gently cupped your face and made you fall into darkness.
Your breathing hitches and you slowly back away, "Qimir?"
The hand closes and slowly drops to the man's side, "I'm impressed." The man reaches up and lifts the helmet off him to reveal Qimir, "Not even my own apprentice has figured it out yet." He takes a step forward and you step back. He holds his hands up, "I told you, I won't hurt you."
"I'm so confused. Why-What do you want with me? Has this been a game to you or something?"
"I assure you, when I first walked into your shop, I was only there for the poison. However, there was something about you that kept me wanting to come back. To see you. I now know why. You have the Force. I can train you and-"
"You already have Mae-"
"You're different. Mae is my apprentice. You...You will be my equal. Together, we can make a difference," he slowly steps towards you and you remain unmoved. He takes your right hand and interlocks his fingers with yours. He repeats the same gesture with your left hand.
There's a faint buzzing sensation coarsing through you. You look at your intertwined hands and then at Qimir, who's smirking at you.
"See? How does it feel?"
"Strange...yet, comforting."
"Imagine how it'll feel when you become more familiar with the Force. How good it'll feel to be strong and powerful. Imagine it, Y/N," Qimir says with a whisper as he leans forward pressing his forehead against yours.
The air around you shifts and vibrates. It's a sensation you never felt before but you can already tell how addicting it is. It's as if you can see, hear, and feel everything around you and how much power they all contain.
"Stay with me," Qimir, "Be my equal."
You remain still as you gather your thoughts. You have never left Batuu until now. You always yearned for more than being just a shop owner. Despite being good at making concoctions and the occasional healing, you felt like you could be so much more than that.
You step back, peeling yourself from Qimir to look him in the eyes and say, "I want to be your equal."
He breaks into a wide grin, an eagerness in his eyes and a hint of something else you couldn't quite place.

Thought about the Beast of Gévaudan again while just recently getting into ac unity…
The story of this monster takes place a little before the actual setting of the game (1765-1767) but werewolves somewhere in France sparked my imagination a bit. Proper conclusion to this train of thought is to draw Arno as a werewolf lmao

Unova Battle Subway maps
My personal preferred map of the railways (one with blue markers, one with color coded markers)
An alternate map, taking the in-game subway map slightly more literally. (Bonus map with a few non-canon markers I added purely to help myself make sense of the seemingly pointless shapes of some of the routes)
Bonus extra map of the routes taken by Ingo, Emmet, or both of them, for those who want a more specific visual of those routes on their own. (Of course Emmet's line goes through the Pokémon World Tournament lmao)
Misc notes/thoughts under the cut
I'm not a train person, take all these musings with a grain of salt lol
Canon map note: I imagine this map only shows the large, intercity railways. Cities like Nimbasa, Castelia, etc likely have smaller, more complex subway lines all over the city like we tend to see IRL.
Canon map note 2: In an IRL setting, these rail lines are likely far less straight and angular than on these maps and could probably make a lot more sense if drawn with a freer hand and consideration for the landscape, but I tried sticking somewhat close to how it's presented in the game.
International (wi-fi) line: In the game it's the wi-fi line. In a non-game context I imagine this line is one that actually leaves Unova and goes to a neighboring region.
Subwayness: While not all of these lines are 100% underground like they might be in the cities, I like to think quite a few of them are partially or primarily in tunnels. Many lines go across water without a major bridge* on the map, or straight through harsh environments like mountains or deserts, some of which may be more convenient long term to go under rather than through. With the technology of the Pokémon universe, I imagine large stretches of underground train tunnels are entirely possible. (*Maybe there's smaller unshown bridges for the trains, but at least the line that goes right through Castelia's port to an island I'd like to believe could be underground under water)
Battle Subway: The Battle Subway itself likely only runs on these intercity lines.Assuming IRL distances rather than in game walking distances, depending on the length of the line, a lap or two could be a full days work for the bosses. Non-battle trains likely use these same tracks.
Anville Town: The branching path on the Anville line is strange, as it doesn't seem to point toward any known location. It could be pointing toward some unlabelled town or landmark, though I've seen some people posit that it stops at the Celestial or Dragonspiral towers (though they seem too far away for me to agree). My personal headcanon is that rather than the large branch shown on the original map, it's actually two branches going to Anville Town; a large alternate rail to help with rotating/moving trains going in and out of the rail yard there.
Pokémon World Tournament: Located in or very near Driftveil City, it was added in BW2 by Driftveil gym leader Clay. Considering Driftveil is a city, it could have multiple subway stations, one of which just happens to be close to the PWT. Alternatively, it could be a bit of a distance away and thus have it's own station.
PokéStar Studios: Located in or very near Virbank City. As the major intercity lines don't quite hit Virbank itself, I imagine Virbank only has one intercity station near the studio if it's within Virbank itself. That, or it has no intercity stations and one must travel the distance between Virbank and the studio to travel further.
Unity Tower: Literally this train goes through a port and right into the ocean to reach an island. This island is only accessible by boat. I'm convinced this train goes under the seafloor. That or it has a super cool Marine Tube situation where it's a subway tunnel, but the tunnel is transparent and the ocean and water pokémon can be seen out the train windows.
#pokemon#submas#battle subway#unova#pokemon black and white#pokemon bw#if anyone wants a tweaked/variant version of one of these hmu i dont mind making more lmao#for those that dont know the marine tube is a cool unova landmark in bw2. it was a super cool addition to the game at the time. very neat#may tweak the notes section of someone brings up a good point about the maps/notes that i decide i wanna incorporate#icys trashtalk#icys drawings and doodles
