a/n: i wrote this while bored at work a few months ago in my notes app, and thought it would be funny to share. nikolai's is def my favorite. enjoy.

dazai - just black coffee like a few times a day. he would talk to the clerks and is friendly to the point where he gets free coffees. flirts with the young women working but we cant tell if he is actually or not because he’s just hard to read. i can’t tell if he smokes or not but if he did he would get marlboro black 100’s.

atsushi - white cherry gatorade and some chips. very average customer. might eventually become friendly with the workers but hes a bit shy, and is surprised when the workers ask him how he’s doing.

kyoka - snack cakes. doesnt talk at all other than saying thank you. sometimes comes in with atsushi.

kunikida - coffee as well. very respectful and if he likes it will become a regular and add it to his schedule. everyone likes him. will occasionally rant about a coworker that annoys the fuck out of him (hm i wonder who).

ranpo - a fuck ton of candy and soda. like takes several trips back and fourth with handfuls of random ass snacks. he’s annoying as fuck about it too.

akutagawa - water. probably goes to the self checkout too, just does not wanna talk to anyone.

chuuya - premium gas and occasionally cigarettes. he’d get some odd type too like winstons or very specific marlboros. he doesn’t talk much unless the worker talks to him. but me and my younger female coworkers would definitely gush over him when he first starts coming.

hirotsu - he would get some old people shit like tourneys or parliaments and say “in a box”. but is patient when the workers take a second to look for them because literally no one gets them.

oda - marlboro black 100’s (which would have inspired dazai's choice). doesn’t talk much.

ango - water and a small snack like a doughnut or peanuts.

tachihara - mountain dew voltage. very chill and talks to the workers. if he finds anyone attractive would lowkey flirt.

tecchou - he would find some type of snack that no one knew we even had. like the byson meat sticks that are definitely expired.

teruko - look i love her but i KNOW this bitch door dashes shit, and it drives us nuts because its always when we’re busy.

fukuchi - he gets beer and would pay with like a 50 dollar bill. my friend i work with would make an inside joke about him being our sugar daddy.

nikolai - (this is something an actual person has done) walks in , says hi and takes an entire fucking tray of lighters before walking out.

fyodor - calls the store and scams the worker for hundreds of dollars.

disclaimer everything here is my opinion and perspective from me in this current moment of my life so just take everything with a grain of salt and preferably look for others perspectives to compare to. ultimately its something everyone kinda have to figure out on their own and do what works for them..

but that being said theresa lot of things to say here so ill just start with like... every dev i see says that if you're gonna sell your game put it on steam. i keep hearing numbers throw around like 90% of sells come from steam and 10% from itch io for devs that sell (commercial projects) on both. you still need following etc to promote the wishlists since that is what boosts your game after the initial release on steam or something like that?

if you have a free game put it on itch io. its free just do it might as well. being shy and insecure about what you make is fine but keep in mind that people arent after some perfect flawless projects and making those is impossible

just make what you can and share it, the right people just need to find them

still itchio is nice that its free but the userbase is also 50% people on their mobile searching for strictly free android games to jerk off or horror game with red background because popular streamer #453425 played it. the site culture is different from steamw which some people treat as if games don't count as real unless they're on steam.

from my perspective paying $100 to put a game on steam is 'cheap'. even if you just consider it an ad fee for however much traffic steam algorithm blesses you with, its kind of a good deal if you think about the unhinged amounts you'd have to pay on twitter or facebook or whatever the hell people use to actually promote the game to same amount of eyes.. if you're doing free games its less of a incentive but if you're trying to do business and make money for rent 100(and whatever fees steam and taxes will eat from your earnings) is a very low price of doing business. i see people complain about steam cuts and steam fees but as someone who used to be an online sexworker there was literally popular sites AND STILL ARE that take like 50% cut directly so steam isn't bad when compared to that (also steam gives you the 100 back after you make 1000, which i reasonable believe i could reach if i put a paid game on steam)

also did you know you can set itch ios marketplace cut to 0% if you want with no repercussions. you can do that if you want. do it.

i think if you have rent to pay you should get into the habit of asking for something. artists love supporting other artists and outside of that the people who have money will gladly support someone whose work they like. there's really no concrete numbers to give for pricing projects. just ask anything. tho know that asking for 1 dollar is pretty much the same as asking for like 5 tho. if people are ready to pay they generally don't care if its in that range so i think everyone's happy if its 5 when payment processors get to swipe a smaller percentage of the fees from the transaction

maybe something like just ask for something nad once you make more projects keep rising it. its better to have an empty patreon with 0 subscribers than no patreon at all. my games used to be 0€ to download and 6.66€ pay what you want and people kept paying that. then i raised the suggestion to 15€ just to try it out and i was surprised to see the amount of donations didn't go down. bonus artbooks are a good incentive. its nice to share something special for those who want to donate and its nice for them to get something out of it since a huge portion of these people might have just given that same donation money expecting nothin in return

its taken a few months but malmaid has now made like 800 dollars on itch io which is like wow holy shit but it kinda stops being as exciting when i think about how it took me 6 months to make it and that would be like one month of rent. still ultimately the fact that its a free game and everyone just decided to donate anyway is kinda absurd and it makes me infinitely grateful

i do know that if i had priced it with a set price the amount would be a lot more (this is even more evident from my 4€ comic projects that i keep putting on sale constantly for even cheaper are still by far the most earning projects I've ever put on itchio) id argue people are more likely to take a project seriously and engage with it if it cost money. free games you can just dl and forget about it if you want.. but having a price next to the download button makes things seem more legitimate because money has worth

i also get pay-per-project patreon money. tho patreon hates that mode and will be deleting in like a year or so instead of having stupid monthly payments. idk what ill do then i might delete patreon at that point will see

but on the matter of if these numbers really are a useful metric to share is debatable. hopeless junction made like $1000(ignoring the vncup 2 award) since i released it year ago and this and malmaid are two of my most popular games like that. i think i made 300-400 during the first few release months back then. I've been posting stuff on itch io for FREE for a decade soon and its an accumulation of all my visibility from over the years. itch io also favorites nsfw games with their tag traffic so its an environment that works for me

if i had started asking for money and packaging my things in a more commercial form i would be making a lot more with it i think and the people who followed me would already be accustomed to that. its just that for now ive valued people being able to play my things for free and my situation has allowed for it

everyone hates marketing but ultimately its about making the thing you made look good and be seen by others. a nice custom theme on an itch io page is more likely to get someone to stay than a game with blank profile no screenshots.

its important to make the thing you made look presentable and that's just finding your own voice by looking at how others do these things

the coolest story in the world isnt gonna sell if it doesn't have a nice cover if nobody knows that story exists.. but if people like the story they're more likely to stick around for future stuff and spread the word.. i think that matters more than what amount of money is being asked for a game as there are popular cheap games just as there are popular expensive games

Giant humongous post about tfbw

okie dokie back to tfbw posting! i just finished my first playthrough (it took me 19.5 hours lawl) i absolutely missed a shit ton of side quests and stuff in the game, but my first playthrough of games i always do blind with no walkthrough so i can experience it raw 

im definitely gonna do a second run through of the game, this time with a guide to fill in any gaps i missed on my first playthough! i probably wont be getting 100 percent cuz thats wayyy too much effort but whatever  overall i really, really enjoyed it! i think i prefer tsot just a little bit more, since i like the gameplay and story flow a little more (i got lost way more often with what exactly i had to do/what i could do in tfbw) but i LOVED the combat system like way more than i was expecting in the first place. i think tsot has a beat out a little bit in that regard too, but thats just because i prefer slightly more casual gameplay over high-strategy gameplay.  i did about 80% of the battles with scott malkinson LMFAO as soon as i got him as a playable chr he never left my roster unless it was a fight that forced him out of my party lmfao. hes just too good i loved him. near the end my party was almost always stan scott and alternating jimmy and cartman. i was really excited about clyde because i love health drain moves/chrs but he kept fucking dying no matter what i did so he got booted LMFAO  but seriously i LOVE the combat system. its really fun and it really made me think super hard on some fights. spoilers for some of the fights up ahead i just wanna talk about them..  the towlie fight was really fun, i just kept cartman on fire the entire battle and made him run around. i felt kinda bad but it worked really well since he’s kind of a tank

all the battles with that stupid timer stressed me the fuck out since im not super good at split second decisions (so like some of the battles in maphestos lab and the eldrich god fight) but it was still fun to do. 

the story was pretty good! i was never bored playing, confused sometimes yes but never bored. near the end i got a little fucked up with all the time jumping and i kinda lost the plot but once i got my bearings back i thought it was a pretty well done segment.  i wish there were more fast travel flags. the map is way bigger than in tsot so idk why they didnt add MORE fast travel flags. (there are 12 fast travel locations in tsot and 11 in tfbw if i recall correctly) i thought i was going insane. i think 3 hours of my total gameplay time was just like walking around.  TLDR i really enjoyed it! i think there are definitely some improvements that could be made but overall 8/10 i will be replaying to get my 45 dollars worth of gameplay out of it. what ive learned is that i love scott malkinson more than life itself and he’s awesome

Those bats biting Steve vs biting Eddie seemed so intentional.

They were EATING Eddie, no doubt in my mind, and there were a literal swarm at that point. But, even if the bats that bit Steve were starving, why would they just bite his sides?

That's the a hard place to get to for the LEAST pay-off. In small groupings like that, you want direct bites to the face, throat, bare stomach...not the sides.

The amount of padding and protection on the human body in that area is extreme, with the amount of organs that can be injured there.

Add on the fact that the one trying to strangle him was pulling away and sorta down to the ground instead of up and helping bite sensitive areas, it seemed like a way to keep his hands away from the bats fucking him up instead of helping out in anyway possible.

Plus, if they're a hive mind of creatures that rely on swarming prey to eat, why use only three? Why does only one ambush him?

And-here comes the million dollar question- why the hell are the bites on a close to naked man in the least conspicuous place where after being treated are super easy to hide? tuck in a undershirt and boom, no bites revealed.

Maybe Im just overthinking it, but IDK it just sits funny with me.

Those bats were 100% trying to eat Steve. I got the impression that they were specifically seeking out the kidneys, the way an Orca does ya know? And as far as they knew, it was just Steve, who was completely defenseless once they got him on his back.

Plus they were probably just the guards. As soon as they saw Steve, they'd call to the other bats through the hive. I just get the impression that they were trying to take their time and enjoy chomping on Steve whilst they can. It wouldn't be unless there's a swarm of them that they go into a feeding frenzy.

But then, in terms of Vampire Steve, taking their time could really lend to the whole bites-turning-him theory. If the bites turn you via venom, having it be more effective on Steve would make more sense. By taking their time, more of that shit would've got in his system.

so Tesla's stock has been going down and down and down some more and we may see under 100 dollars a share by New Years

I just have to wonder a few things, 1) Tesla is a publicly traded company and Musk owns not a very big share of it (13.4% after his sell offs) when (if ever) will other stockholders coup him out of of the CEO chair? I mean from my outsider view it seems very clear to me any ways that the only hope to save the ship is to throw out the captain (idk if it can be saved given how tied to his image it is, but..)

2) with so much of the twitter debt backed by Tesla stock, and that stock having dropped dramatically and trending down with it's CEO clearly having no answers, blaming everything other than himself, and spends all his time making it worse by damaging his own image and brand, so like what happens to the debt backed up on that stock?

I mean, if the board continues to just go along or not question Musk, the shareholders can either pressure the board or replace the board and replace the CEO (the CEO is hired by and answers to the board of directors, who are chosen by and answerable to the shareholders). And with prominent Tesla shareholders like Leo KoGuan starting to get more vocal about their displeasure and with Musk selling more of his shares, it could get to that point real fast. Cue the retired janitors of idaho.

The $6billion or so Tesla-secured margin loan (meaning that he pledged $6billion of Tesla securities - either equity such as stock, or debt like a bond or CD - that he already owned as part of his investments or issued by the company) that was part of the Twitter financing (account for something like 13% of the overall amount) only really becomes an issue if the lender or whomever is holding that $6billion either gets worried that the value will drop or is dropping and that there's not enough to match or maintain that amount and therefore either Musk or Tesla or whomever has to put more money in to prevent a loss or the lender sells/liquidates those securities/that loan. The lender can do a margin/maintenance call at any time without warning and can sell those securities at any time without warning. And there's the potential for tax liabilities on Musk or Tesla's part as well as further financial instability for Twitter. However that would really only be an issue if the value of those securities falls below $6billion and/or if Musk/Tesla can't inject enough cash or equity to maintain that $6billion, and since Tesla is still in the hundreds of billions value-wise, barring some serious and drastic change, it probably won't be an issue. What *would* be an issue is Musk and/or Tesla having to continue to maintain that margin loan, which would suck more money/finances away from them. And wherever that margin loan is located, Musk/Tesla are stuck with that broker or investment firm unless and until they pay off that loan. The real issue is the $13billion in loans/debt that Musk took out to buy Twitter - that's what doubled the debt obligations of the company to $1billion a year and $3billion of which is unsecured (meaning there's nothing backing it or committed to it in value). At one point earlier this month the banks holding that $13billion were thinking of replacing that unsecured portion with more Tesla-secured margin loans (which would lower the debt payments Twitter has to make, and also puts more equity and value into the loans and financing). Adding more Tesla-backed securities as loan collateral increases the risks I mentioned earlier, and the value of the Twitter loans are both volatile but decreasing, which means that there's both potentially pressure on the banks to sell those loans in a market with lowered investor interest in buying them (because similar kinds of loans for similar companies resulted in serious losses for investors and banks earlier this year) or face more losses with holding onto those loans and that debt.

Hii. So yeah I start my new job tmr as a behavior techhh! It’s kinda weird you don’t need experience, it’s actually very bad but hey… look at me 😭. I decided I don’t think ima do college because no. So yeah idk I explained but ima be going over a child’s house & be a one on one & give them services for those who has autism. Ima be starting off w one kid tho, I can add another case if I want or whatever. So I got a 4 year old girl & she lives 10 minutes away from me thank goodness, so convenient fr. Ima be working from 3-6 M-F. I will earn a lot more than my daycare for sure but because I’m starting off w one kid for 3 hours it’s only a $100 dollar difference but I’m working an hour less than my old daycare job. Anyways my last day wasn’t too hard. I’m not necessarily in my feminine energy rn so it was a little hard to process I was leaving & feeling emotional about it etc. but I am gonna miss the kids fr. I already do but new beginnings! Spiritually I’m not doing so well for my own reasons. I’m aware of it & im you know feeling all the consequences internally & externally a bit as well but letting go of certain things is very very difficult for me. Especially people (as you know lol). I understand I gotta learn the hard way & won’t let go unless I’m on the verge of losing my mind or dying & im not at that point yet & I know I don’t have to be but idk it’s just how I am. I think once I let go of this one thing, ‘paradise’ is on its way & I feel it but you know it’s just really difficult. I find it kinda cool that this new job is like carving out the path of what I want to really get into. I’ve always been in the mental health/psychology type of careers & i can’t imagine what my next job would be or the one after that yk, what doors can open just from this job. Idk it’s interesting to think about. I hate working tho. I rather be rich & help people for free than work for money for helping people. I mean that makes no sense tbh lol. Unless you're a selfish media consumer like I am. They could murder someone from all I care; I always seperate art from the artist in every single case. So media can say whatever tf they want. Thankfully, I too am wholly capable of separating the art from the artist. Especially within the sphere of rock/rock-adjacent genres, what band isn't problematic to a certain degree? We'd be fucked if we couldn't listen to music from bands whose members were/are sketch asf. While I do frequently find myself getting parasocially attached to celebs (just like any other chronically online fan lmao), I think my capacity to be realistic with my expectations is my one saving grace, as well as my ability to recognize that I do not know these people and therefore cannot vouch for them with 100% certainty even if I want to. Would I be devastated for a while if they turned out to be proven true without a doubt? Absolutely— I’ve already been bugging since the original stuff a few months ago. Will it ruin the band irreparably for me? No.

I too believe in "innocent until proven guilty," for the most part. People lie for attention, this is a known fact of human nature. But, I also believe that victims should be heard and supported. If these things are indeed true, then I feel for them and sincerely hope they are alright and have a proper support system, rather than just floundering on a spiteful internet platform. This being said, I am also able to see things from a logical and objective perspective—unlike many people I've seen (particularly on the cesspit platforms of tiktok and twitter)—viewing points made by both sides and deducing their validity on my own, rather than immediately and blindly choosing to either dickride or witch-hunt. I think I fall fairly in the middle-ground over this situation. I can see the points of both sides: how the guys are responsible for causing unsafe environments, and how the accusers have made contradicting and fallible statements (particularly in the case of Till’s situation), as well as how third parties have blown things out of proportion.

That being said, I do believe the guys have their serious faults. Could the rumors be true? It's very possible. But as a fan of their art and as a fan of the people who I think and hope they are, I sincerely hope for the best.

I'm not going to stop being a fan of the art and music they've created. I'm not going to recklessly trash the hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise I've collected. I'm going to selfishly hope beyond hope that they continue touring after this year, just so long as I can see them live at least once. If I were to stop doing any of these things, that would be entirely hypocritical of me as a consumer and an artist and a human being; if we can't enjoy the art of potentially problematic people, then our pool of art and culture would be tragically small. I can think of about a dozen artists, musicians, and writers off the top of my head that have been incredible influences on society, but simultaneously are/were dicks in their personal lives.

As with everything else in my pessimistic life, I'm hoping for the best, expecting the worst, and am breaking out with bad stress acne because of it. Also idk if this is the right place to say this considering the context but fuck cancel culture lmao, it far is more toxic to jump on a bandwagon to ruin someone than to be reasonable and responsible in the ways that you analyze a problematic matter

I uh. Highly recommend the letter yes 100% every woman is very mentally ill and problematic, great stuff. I do recommend playing the game yourself as opposed to watching a playthrough, just because there’s a lot of different choices and alternate paths and part of the fun is making your own story. It’s also something that I feel like needs to be played more than once so you can do completely different scenarios. Like I’m sure it’s fine to watch a playthrough, it’s just likely that it won’t properly cover what the whole game has to offer. But eh this could just be the way that I play games

I feel like at this point we probably need studies to be done on the efficacy of shouting at apathetic, young, left-leaning non-voters. I'd be fine with it if it works, but it seems like one of those things that people wind up just doing because it feels right. Like, you imagine this person exists and then of course you want to yell at them because they make you angry, but do you know how large this group actually is, are you yelling in places that will reach them, and will this yelling result in a meaningful number of them changing their behavior?

IDK, I'm probably hoping for too much. The most likely explanation for the popularity of this "tactic" is just that it farms engagement via outrage, with clicks and comments from Dems mad at the purity obsessed left and leftists (both voting and non-voting) mad at the people who are mad at them. The fact that it's a palatable topic to write about for anyone outside of the specific group it targets is also likely contributing to its popularity, if you're on the right then you want to encourage radical leftists to vote for more centrists candidates and if you're a democrat then you're probably just as mad at these leftists for staying home. The fact that the articles and posts do well just further incentivizes you to make things that already feel good to make.

So I suppose I understand the reason for their popularity, but until I see evidence that they're Useful, I guess I'd just like them to stop. I already vote, but I'd like to see more positive campaigning from the Dems. The Infrastructure package, the Inflation Reduction Act, and the student loan debt forgiveness are all pretty big deals that I'd hope would be something worth campaigning on. Honestly though, they've pretty much faded from existence the moment they were passed. I've been trying to look up some examples of their positive impacts, but the Infrastructure thing is still trying to divvy out funding and is more of a decade long project for national infrastructure improvement than something quick and easy, and the Inflation Reduction Act has barely had time to even get going.

I found some stuff about the dams and lock systems in the Ohio river, a relatively small portion of the bill, which are apparently in an absolutely atrocious state. Like, they have nets to catch the pieces of concrete which break off from pedestrians, and parts of them are 100+ years old. When one of the two locks needs two month long maintenance there are nine day long delays for barges traveling through only the other. There's a 77 million dollar investment into repairing just one section of them that's gotten some coverage, but it's still too early to see the results. Here are some links I found.

Hearing about real problems that have gone unattended for far too long and are actively being fixed by the administration makes me feel like I have a real government. That makes me want to vote for them! This is just a drop in the bucket for the larger bill too, there are so many things like this. We're surrounded by old and crumbling infrastructure and the administration, for all of its faults, is in the process of fixing that! Unless you have evidence that it works, stop telling the most apathetic yet still political group you can imagine to vote for the lesser of two evils, and start telling everyone to vote for something that's actually good!
