Tbh I am trying very hard to avoid double standards with how I perceive media, especially if it is about relationship. Like for example... Everyone remembers Alphyne? The ship from Undertale that was soooooo cute... right?

However, imagine if Alphys was a man. In that scenario, I don’t think the ship would fly just as good because... Let’s admit it, Alphys is a very weird person. Clingy, nerdy, desperate. If Aphys was a man, people would say he’d be a creep for thinking about Undyne constantly, naming variables after her, drawing her at the margins of his notes, writing fanfic about him and her in domestic situations... People would switch from endearing to "look at this incel being gross about women".

And like, yeah some gender things are applicable, but... until when? Until when we are going to milk this ‘b-but MEN have PRIVILEGE that women DON’T so women being creepy/weird/dangerous is cute lesbian antics whereas men doing this is perpetuation o-of the cycle!!!’ cow? What IS the better time to start being more egalitarian than right now?

Using this particular example, there are three potential ways:

1) Both, if Alphys was male and if she stays as female character, situations are fucked and should not be presented as the cute ship Toby made it be (kinda cringe, no nuance to life but okay?)

2) Both, if Alphys was male and if she stays as female character, situations are okay and kinda adorable (also kinda meh but less so, keep in mind that Undyne ends up admiring Alphys’ passion + they both end up being happy)

3) Regardless of gender, recognise that this dynamic is strange (if not dangerously close to problematic) - whether they are lesbians, whether Alphys was male, whether they were both gay men, whether Undyne was a male and Alphys was female. But yet it is allowed to exist! Some people are fucking cringe to say it the nicest way. And yet some people find their passion endearing. And most importantly - in the media, anything is allowed to exist if this serves the core message of the media! The best way in my opinion.

Basically, I can’t stretch this enough. The best way to ‘check’ your gay ship is to speculate as if to, if it was hetero. If something changes drastically - there are things to consider in my opinion. I feel like we cannot milk ‘male privilege’ cow FOREVER and at some point, equally weird/scary/manipulative behaviour should be perceived through the same lense regardless of the groups involved.

hxh theory: is feitan a p3d0phile?

just a note: before you come at me with your pitchforks leaving hate in my asks and dms, i am not a fan of l0l1c0n nor am i trying to defend it, this post is a simple theory i have gathered by evidence in the manga, no one is saying that you should believe this theory, it's more of a "do with this information what you will" kind of thing.

so, you may be reading this title and you're thinking "what the actual fuck?" and you probably believe that i pulled this straight out of the deepest parts of my ass, but what if i told you i had some plausible evidence for this theory?

so, for starters, this thought actually came to me when i was reading a post by a user on here named @/cautionworks (i'm not going to tag them here because i don't know them nor do i want to seem like a bother) who made a post relating to their favorite ships (warning as the post does contain problematic ships such as hisogon and such, not saying in particular im against the ship, im just giving out a warning to anyone who is triggered by minor x adult ships) and there was a ship listed as feitan x kalluto.

in the passage it mentions that they found out that feitan may be into l0l1, which at first thought was a bit strange but once you think about it more, the concept isn't the most absurd for someone like him.

i haven't seen anyone actually talk about feitan possibly being into l0l1c0n, much less being a p3do, probably because of the anti's in the fandom.

so, lets get on with the actual evidence!

in the yorknew city arc, after he was done torturing the owl, he is seen reading a book by an author named trevor brown, and as stated on his hunterpedia page, trevor is a controversial artist who's work involves paraphilia; atypical sexual urges.

according to trevor's wikipedia page, "His work explores paraphilias, such as lolicon, ero guro, BDSM, and other fetish themes. Innocence, violence, misogyny, and Japanese popular culture all collide in Brown's art."

there is also a reddit post relating to this topic as well, and according to said post the topic was popular on tik tok at a certain period in time (not very important but i thought it was kind of interesting since im a tik tok user and content creator kind of)

so, does this make feitan a p3d0phile? i can see why people would think so, and i can also see why people wouldn't.

why i would is simple; trevor brown's art speaks for itself, the usage of fictional little girls in... lets just say, VERY interesting situations would make one assume off rip that feitan may be a p3d0phile, or at least a l0l1con, not to mention, togashi isn't afraid of making a character like this especially since we have hisoka (not saying hisoka is a p3d0, but many do, and im just trying to prove a point and give an example as to why the concept of feitan being a p3d0 isn't something completely out of the ordinary, hxh does get pretty dark after all).

why i wouldn't: i've seen some arguments that feitan may not hold the same views as trevor despite him doing some questionable things, similar to how people may like a certain character or even person in real life but not agree with everything they say or do, not to mention he doesn't seem to act weird or overly charming with kids like hisoka, he certainly isn't afraid to hurt or torture one (gon) but theres no actual implications outside of him reading this book by a controversial artist that he is sexually attracted to them.

but in my personal opinion, unless specified by togashi himself, or given any more details about how he feels about such things i wouldn't go as far as to call feitan a p3d0 just because he's seen reading a book by someone known to create l0l1 art, hell, he might be reading a book that doesn't include anything relating to p3d0philia, since the cover art isn't explicitly shown.

(1) I’ve largely erred on the side of not saying this because I don’t care to rain on anyone’s parade, but since you mentioned feeling like the friendship between Tomura and Spinner can get blown out of proportion, I can think of at least one concrete reason for why that disconnect might exist. I feel this way about a lot of peoples' interpretations of the League and their interactions. Not just Spinner and Shigaraki, but all of them. I feel like a lot of gestures get blown way out of proportion. Shigaraki's "I just want them to be able to live how they see fit" does not equal "Their happiness is my priority, and I'm going to work to create a world where they can be happy". I'm sorry but those two are not the same thing, and I haven't seen Shigaraki act in such a way either. Those two goals may point in the same direction (they don't because he's a fucking liar to his own face and so is Toga to her own face), but that kind sentiment did not suddenly mean that he is prioritizing their happiness and wellbeing above all else. If that was the case, well, they wouldn't have formed a giant ass army to take on the world at war and risk dying (which one of them did) and Spinner wouldn't be in the situation he is in now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .

I don't want to rain on people's parades either, but my opinions are pretty clear and have been for a while and people have had plenty of time to block/unfollow me as they see necessary. So at this point, I don't hold back (I try very hard to avoid being super negative though about any character in general). I used to hold back my not so popular (in the villain corner of the fandom) interpretations on the League up until recently. As we've gotten closer to the end, I've decided that I'm just gonna put my opinion out into the void even if many people--specifically in the little circle of blogs I occupy--don't like it. And many don't, and that's okay. My opinion doesn't change unless the manga gives me a reason to change it.

Spinner and Shigaraki--I have a lot of issues here, MAJORITY of it due to fandom hyping them up as more than they are. And look, I don't care when stuff is clearly fanon or headcanons. Posts that are meant to be taken that way are usually pretty clear about it. But these are whole analyses based off of this overblown bond/friendship that literally only Spinner seems to acknowledge/be so attached to.

I don't doubt Shigaraki views everyone in the League as a friend in some capacity. I don't doubt that at all. I don't doubt that he cares and genuinely wants them to live how they want. However, I would like for someone to show me where he pays the same type of special attention to Spinner that Spinner gives to him. Imo, Shigaraki treats them all pretty equally--Spinner included.

I didn't know that about the Japanese, and yet, I still felt this way. Assuming that someone who has a good understanding of Japanese can correct your statement, I'm gonna take your word for it since I can't say shit otherwise lol. But cool--yeah that particular line is used quite a bit. And I get it! It's fun especially if you ship the characters or just enjoy their interactions.

But I feel like people overlook the fact that Spinner's idolization and attachment is literally negative and is a challenge in his arc, not some cute uwu friendship that was just about video games (when would they have played video games in canon??? WHEN????).

Spinner decided to seriously devote himself to Shigaraki (which in itself is a weird not great thing to do) during MVA, because it looked as if Shigaraki had made progress and overcome a barrier and become this all powerful destructive god who can make dreams come true (dreams for someone who wants to lash out at least). But MVA was not any of that. MVA was Shigaraki doing exactly what AFO wanted him to do--get worse emotionally, spiral more mentally and become even more unstable, and hate himself to the point that he sees no point in thinking or hoping for change for the better. Perfect, all according to keikaku. And THAT is when Spinner was like "FUCK YEAH THIS GUY". I know Spin didn't know that, but come oN guys THE TIMING OF IT IS SO FORETELLING.

AND IT WAS. Because look now. What has turned me completely off to this dynamic is the fandom hyping it up as a pure devotion that isn't stemming from a lot of self-worth issues and negative idealization. Spinner associates Shigaraki with destruction, rage, anger, and misery. That's also what Shigaraki associates himself with, and that's exactly what AFO wants. And man, he sure got it out of both of them.

And I'd like it if people acknowledged that more for what it is, but it's just reduced down to "two gamers that AFO groomed and took advantage of". And I feel that is just super oversimplifying what actually happened. AFO didn't groom Spinner from the age of 5, he took advantage of a vulnerability he was able to pinpoint super quickly after Spinner made it painfully obvious.

I like Spinner more on his own, and I like the potential for him to face the reality that him ignoring his gut instincts in favor of that dream of destruction he associates with Shigaraki eventually led to him making things worse for Shigaraki--unintentionally. I mean he hasn't made shit hit the fan YET--but man if things aren't looking ominous as fuck right now. AFO is counting on Spinner? Oof. But the potential for drama here is exciting, and I'm ready for it.

But yeah. I agree--it's overblown imo. It has become a plot point in Shigaraki's arc in a negative way. So I feel people miss the mark when they focus on how devoted Spinner is to Shigaraki during all of this mess, because that's exactly why things look the way they do lol.

WYLL’S FLAWED PERSPECTIVE. or, how to “read” my replies!

i personally believe wyll is a flawed character and its important to give him the full spectrum of emotions beyond “good” “kind” or “bad” “evil.”

i am personally working on trying to stay “ic” and true to my characters, without pushing the character into saying something that will like, be good for a ship, or like, be an “rp people pleaser” if that makes senses!

i don’t JUST want to have interactions where wyll is perfect. to me, wyll has flaws in the way he communicates and sees the world. this does not mean he is not heroic, or a kind, decent man—it just means i love him as a character for his layers. these things make him more REAL and complex than i think wyll as a PERSON wants to be, in a kind of “hide my truth, hide my feelings, elsa frozen kinnie” way

so without further ado, here are some things wyll might do or want to do or say incorrectly or percieve your character in the wrong way even tho i personally would not behave in the same ways irl On Purpose For Some Of These Things

CONDESCENDING. wyll believes he knows best. wyll believes he can say all the right words and “fix things.” he can make EVERYTHING better. he has a SAVIOR COMPLEX. while never being a perfect martyr, he really does think he can “ahaaha dont have depression ur so sexy” ur ass by being gentle and kind and roleplaying a fairy tale with you. additionally, if you seem “soft” in some way, or “meek” in some way, wyll want to “help you” more.

AVOIDANT. wyll does not want to talk about what he wants, what he notices, what he feels, except in poetryor tall tales or threats of violence. his pretty words sometimes hide an emptiness, a dreaminess. he speaks of things he cannot have and will not ask for. he is embarrassed to want, embarrassed to need, attention, desire, anything but charm and protecting the innocent and meek.

OVERLY ROMANTIC. this ties in with above. he idealizes people, he puts them on pedestals, he treats them like they are made of glass. he does not humanize others or himself enough, and prefers to live in a world of fantasies and pretend.

BOASTFUL. wyll tries to be humble—but this is to match a persona. if you dive even slightly deeper into things, he’s all too happy to tell you how strong and heroic he is, to the point of condescion and vanity. on the other hand, he will not take you seriously if you threaten him! he’ll threaten you back! he doesnt give a single fuck!

BLACK AND WHITE THINKING AND SNAP JUDGEMENTS. to wyll, you are either “hunter” “prey” “hero/villain” the person he needs to protect people from. he will bide his time—but it is difficult for him to trear villains kindly, and he will NEVER truly respect them as people, unless they prove they have changed or are not trying to hurt anyone currently.

WILL WORK WITH VILLAINS. WILL MAKE DEALS WITH DEVILS. WILL ALSO HUNT THEM FOR SPORT. easy to understand, wyll believes he can “control” devils, if they are useful to him. wyll can ally with evil—even if he is just biding his time to kill them later.

VIOLENT. ROLEPLAYER. if you are evil, he will just want to kill you and that’s that! he wanted to kill every goblin at that camp! he relishes in violence as long as it’s for justice. he gets off on the power and pomp of it n his heroism—even when its not actually heroic

WORDS GET AWAY FROM HIM. he will speak with intention, but has a tendency to ramble poetically. when angry, and threatening someone, sometimes he makes no sense at all bc he just wants murder myrder death death justice

A SILLY BILLY!! he can take himself very seriously, but also he is brainweird and skin hungry n loves to touch n be weird and wrestle n write funny poems and get drunk n dance under the stars. he’s a silly ex-(would have been a theatre kid but his dad wanted him to join jrotc instead) kid! he likes big bold gestures. he is EXTREMELY REPRESSED, but the closer he gets to u, the more ull see his joy n not just his “good hero”

DEEPLY LONELY AND APPROVAL SEEKING. wyll really likes it when people pay attention to him. nore than he likes actually doing good things, sometimes. note: there is nothing wrong with doing good things for recognition, everyone deserves recognition of hard work n pain. but it still makes him more interesting to me than generic hero!:

Keyboard

As a professional keyboard warrior (I am indeed one of those people who you get on live chat. I'm the premium experience who actually will answer questions and fix stuff), I have a love of a good keyboard.

Now if only i could find one...

The Mac keyboard for instance has a really nice key-cap with awful hardware under it - I've wormholes in those, and they're impossible to clean.

I've had a couple of Razers which lets me config colour and set macros... as long as you stay on Windows and don't mind all the LEDs dying after a few months because Razer's hardware is pretty much trash.

Currently, I'm on a keyboard from Nuphy which is low profile, fully mechanical, hot-swappable, programmable-ish, and has a gorgeous design and this one weird feature which is they made the little rubber feet fit between the keys on a Macbook.

So you can sit it on top of your MacBook and have a nice tactile typing experience. AKA: Thok.

It also ships with Mac and Windows keys and the F keys are all labelled up for Mac Use. There's a switch for swapping form Windows to Mac layout.

It also has two keys - Scissors and a Cat which they decided to be some really random, useless feature.

Unfortunately, their software is awful - It only runs on Windows Remember all those Mac-centric things that went into the design? Yeah, they basically decided they wouldn't support Mac in any way. No LED customisation, no key-customisation, and also at some point they announced they'd fuffed up so badly that they couldn't in fact update their keyboards unless you took the thing apart, pried out the circuit board and bought an updated one that would support their console software - A notoriously buggy app that's Windows only and which throws an error if you run it, and will sometimes just automatically brick your keyboard.

So, good times.

So someone jsut used a USB debugger and then wrote their own utility to remap the keys for Windows and Mac, which runs on pretty much all platforms and has far more functionality than Nuphy console, without having to update the hardware.

Only they don't care about the LED config, so they just left it out.

And since the keyboard will occasionally jsut wipe it's settings if you switch modes, (Another 'feature') that means you spend a weird amount of time plugging it into Windows and running two different apps to make your keyboard work.

OK. So at least the LEDs haven't died. Yet. And these Gateron Browns have the right amount of clicky thocky.

But as mentioned, I'm a professional typist, and not just for The Words. I mean yeah if I just typed stuff up in Word, or Scrivener, I'd still want a bunch of macro keys.

But I'm using these damn corporate chat apps where you have three people having simultaneous meltdowns and you have to flip between them and run a huge number of key combos to fire off macros - Key combos that in almost every other app do things like create text links.

Only in this thing, it opens up a menu of options including for some weird reason, Chat GTP.

And I need three Enter keys.

One to send

One to do a non-breaking new line

One to add a new paragraph

And one which was made in secret to rule them all

And let me tell you, having a Copy and Paste and Copy-without-Format button is great.

So Nuphy are doing this new keyboard. It looks like they're basing it on the War Machine KT-1 GAEMER KEEB.

Normally i would not give a rats ass about GAEMER KEEB because they're all plastic trash with unusable fonts and an emphasis on being Ugly with an F.

Buuuut.

But but but. This thing is absolutely hitting some retro Cyberpunk aesthetics

I'd like to think those buttons are functional, and that's a USB passthrough at the back but I'm pretty sure it's just a storage slot for yet another wireless dongle.

So here's my wishlist:

USB passthrough at both sides. Give me the choice of wireless or wired mode. And let me plug a tablet in to get power and use the keyboard. or plug in a mowse

Mode switching OK - I get it, thinking is hard. But "find the invisible switch, slide it 2mm, then use a hot-key to swap USB channels, but then if you need Dongle/Wired, switch the switch back over" is... Oh Fuff you. 3 Bluetooth, 1 dongle and two USB? BIG FUFFEN ROCKER SWITCH YO At the very least don't make your meta key one that's already being used by the OS so the emoji panel pops up when you try and swap your devices.

Macro keys It's the third Decade of the 21st century. We all have a ton of shortcuts we use and it's time to bind them to keys. Emoji/Weird non ANSII character are a thing! There's pop up windows to add them. They need a key! And not a janky 'pick 4 emoji out of the available 90,000' thing, looking at you Logitech Pop keyboard. How about Copy, Paste/paste without formatting? Enter/Ctrl enter/Shift-enter?

Light up flip switches They're just cool looking.

Universal standard for setting backlight colours and key mapping For sure! Look. It's late, I want amber keys or red keys. I want to be able to hit Option or Alt and have the common meta-keys light up

LAAAAAAAYERS on-device profile switching. maybe an OLED or E-Ink display to tell me what mode I'm in. Windows, Mac...

Decent backlit key-caps WTF is up with people back-lighting their keyboard and then having fully opaque keys? WHY? You know what'd be nice? Pudding caps. Make the damn key glow. Put a white top on so if you turn the backlight off you can see the damn lettering

Proper mechanical switches. I mean beyond the nice sound, tactile feedback, I need to be able to yank these switches out and swap the key caps. Why? I wear them out. I have had keyboards I've kept in working order so long that I had to toss them because they were three connectors out of date. (DIN! PS/2!) I've had to toss other keyboards because they mechanically weren't up to being typed on that much. Also throwing out Razers because no matter what they claim, they last 18 months and then die. 10 million keystrokes my ass.

Anyway, I'm not really going anywhere with this. I just can't find anyone who cares enough about this stuff to listen.

when i graduated HS in 2021, i was 19 (my bday is late - nov 2002). i felt like an adult when i entered college. i was not talking to other 18/19yros who were still in highschool cuz thats weird to me, even if we were the same age (excluding siblings/cousins). i dont know how other peoples highschools function but we rarely mingled with lower grades unless in extracurriculars but even then once you graduate you only really keep in contact with the friends you graduated with so...

but anyway, i was not reading online fics/published books set during highschool cuz that part of my life has passed.

and i even waited till i was in college to REALLY start reading smut fics. like i dabbled as a hardheaded minor but stopped cuz i realized that sex is not the end all be all of life. its only a minor aspect so i went back to being in a child's place (cartoons, barbies, and justice store). luckly i didn't need an adult to block and yell at me to leave them alone.

i say all this to say that highschool 18/19 is very much different than college/adult living 18/19, so people can very well tell highschool students to be off their page but still have 18/19 ADULT friends who go to COLLEGE or work a 9-5 and pay they bills.

but also highschool is boring and such a confining setting. you can't do much with it. even most books with highschoolers take majority of place outside school and dont even touch on highschool life.

Please, please, please don't dictate what you want a certain character to do/feel at ALL. I absolutely HATE having this happen— and especially if it's to someone I'm musing for YOU. If you want this character to do something that I'm not allowing them to (e.g.: make a sweet character do something unhinged, or even controlling them to do a certain action when it's obvious they aren't doing it on my reply), either tell me or don't do it.

Alongside that, Godmodding takes the joy out of roleplaying. I'm not an AI like character ai, and if you think I am, dni. I will not entertain people that would godmod my sonas, ocs, or even the characters I'm roleplaying as just because you didn't like what they're doing.

If someone expresses an interest, please entertain it first. This is also evident on the matters of double-ups. Don't make it focused on what one person will do alone— its weird and it can be difficult to take it seriously. Also, I get uncomfortable when it happens.

which brings me to the james problem. i don't... hate him. i also don't love him as much as i love remus and sirius and the fact that those two are alive for a good portion of the canon has little to do with it. like i know he was on the 'good side' all with working for dumbledore and becoming an animagus to help remus and taking sirius in when he left his family but at the same time he bullied snape and bothered lily for years and i don't get how he went for that to getting married and having a child with lily

im mainly salty because jkr pulled the 'hero gets the girl after becoming a better person as a reward' trope which ruined the character for me. the only way james can work is if jily doesn't happen and he realizes he was in the wrong for bullying snape before he became a magical nazi. i think after a certain point he can go from that to antagonizing a death eater which is ok in my book but the mindless bullying because he got a hard on for lily and he was jealous has to go. and the reason why he stops being an asshole must not involve him getting lily in any shape or way. i kinda like to tie this to that moment in canon when he saved snape's life on the full moon so the reason why he stops bullying him can be related to his friends and having to find a way to keep snape quiet about remus being a werewolf. it can involve lily because snape had that weird ass obsession with her but this way instead of james getting the girl because he did the right thing it's james deciding to give up on the girl to keep snape quiet and do the right thing for his friend. so bros before hoes with extra steps. by the time he's good enough for lily to decide she wants to be friends with him he should already be done with his lily evans crush detox. literally going through withdrawal

which brings me to regulus. because if james is over lily and back on the market there's one less thing that's stopping this ship from happening. as opposed to the other 20 things which only make this more interesting imo

so james' best friend is sirius black who's also the older brother of regulus. 2 degrees of separation plus he gets second hand info from sirius regarding his younger brother and their life in the black family. regulus on the other hand probably got info on james from sirius while he was still living with him and maybe resents james for stealing his brother. so they're not complete strangers. they're also both playing quidditch for their houses canonically so they have this in common. he's also not a complete monster despite being a death eater (I'll get back to this) because he tried to destroy voldemort and he was very close with his house elf despite coming from a blood purist family so i don't think james could fall for him unless he knew regulus was a good person at the end of the day. regulus must also have been incredibly smart because he was a black and he had to maintain a certain reputation plus he discovered voldemort made horcruxes before dumbledore did and since lily was also really smart i think this could be another reason why james would fall for him

we have little to no information about regulus so as for him falling for james i think the proximity to his brother plus their shared interests plus james'personality (as far as we've seen in canon) are reasons why he could fall for him

now the drama factor. since we have basically nothing on those two the best thing about their relationship is the potential for drama. so there's the best friend's brother trope plus the complicated relationship sirius has with his brother (and his entire family) which can reflect on the ship. especially when sirius canonically doesn't know about regulus' discovery and how he died so for him his little brother was a death eater sympathizer who became one to please their parents realized it was too much for him shortly afterwards and decided to deflect and got killed for that

there's also the problem that he was a death eater and james was in the order so how would that even work for them. this is turning into an essay so im pulling the citations because why not

because if we go with what the narrators say regulus has always treated kreacher with respect despite his background. he essentially treated the lowest of the low as an equal when everyone around him treated house elves as slaves but at the same time he followed his parents' wishes he worshipped voldemort and he got the mark at 16 then realized it was a mistake and decided to sacrifice himself to save his house elf and destroy one of the horcruxes. how

i mean considering the circumstances and how smart he was and the fact that he was a slytherin it makes more sense he fooled everyone into thinking he was a sympathizer. first his entire family because he saw how they treated sirius and he didn't want to get the same treatment. then later on when he realized voldemort has a high chance of winning the war he decided to go all out with the death eater fanboy charade and remain on the down low out of self preservation. it would make sense because his parents were only sympathizers themselves and narcissa never got the mark despite being in close circles. afaik belatrix was the only one in the family who got the mark beside him. we know he got the mark at 16 so maybe he was obligated to take this final step because otherwise his loyalties would be questioned and he couldn't do much else as an underage wizard. at one point between age 16 and 18 he decided to ignore his self preservation instinct and sacrifice himself for the greater good after seeing the horrors of the war. i like this better than the "friend to all house elves to magical nazi to proto harry potter" pipeline. still better than snape's arc tho

imo the best way the ship would work is if james started dating regulus in secret so sirius wouldn't find out then had an ugly fall out when regulus got the mark then both went on their separate ways on opposite sides of the war then regulus started his horcrux hunt. preferably he survives the cave and reunites with james and he finds out about regulus' true plan regarding voldemort but that's just my preference. some like it better when reg dies and james finds out the truth after reg's death

everywhere i go the shippers - really theyre just ironman fans - rag on Steve and everything abt him and anything that points to him being a character that originated from a diff franchise, and the only times they don't is when theres commercial cashgrab crossover slop that characterizes him as bland and historyless as possible. like ffs they all think that shitty avengers academy mobile game is his "best" version. atp the whole ship feels like an exercise in removing character traits until theres nothing but a blond blue eyed character design left

Honestly I think it depends on which side of the fandom your in because what you're talking Abt reminds me of the MCU Stony fandom.

Most of the people who like MCU Stony are people who mostly try cope with the fact that there wasn't really much relationship build off from Steve In that universe, because he was bland, similar to how I feel about emh Steve and EMH Stony in general despite me shipping it myself.

I think that most Stony fans don't hate Steve they just wish that the writers would like.. write him, like , good. An example of a Steve I think everyone can agree on is AA Steve, which is known for being some the best Steve characterizations we've gotten in a while, because of the way Roger Craig Smith does his softer voice and normal Steve voice that displays both a captain and a caring person that would try and help out with your problems.

And as much as I don't agree with the "Captain Colonizer" Statement, mostly because Steve is a representation of the people of America not the government, as much as marvel tries to make it seem that way cap is someone that helps the little guys and unless there's a habit avengers level threat or just something happening down town, he doesn't go side with the government, evident by the fact that in AA (S2/3ish) neither Steve and tony were working with the government, it was obviously on already uneasy terms, but after they showed lack of remorse for human lives, it ended up leading the team to split up publicly and work to help everyone underground away from ultrons weird government bullshit that entire season.

And afiak, They stopped "uneasily" working with the government after this, it was really only with big events like thanos and ultron anyway, and the avengers work alone, and they don't like being controlled by government pencil necks who don't care.

Although it should be noted that, most other Steve vary on this position, Im not gonna use civil war as a talking point here cuz both the comic and the movies adaptations are shit and Steves feelings towards the government are a lot more wishy washy in 616, and the MCU is a huge example of going in the wrong direction with how to do that. And the fact that if we're being honest Steve would go down to wherever shits going down and help him fucking self. he don't take that shit, he will defend the side of the right. Hes not about that wishy washy government bullshit as much as marvel's military funded ass shitty movie cinematic universe will try to make you believe and just and fyi: all the mcus shit is from ults.. AND IT ISNT THE GOOD STUFF FROM ULTS!!!

But anyway, most people hate Steve because they don't like the fact that Steves character keeps getting worse and worse, even more bastardized, and flanderized, and written terrible, by people who don't understand the complexites or history of his character, which end us with a problem where there are conflicts with newer steve fans who like his flanderized ults-like take in the MCU, or the comic fans who like his original version and would like for him to return back to something that truly represents him as a person, whether or not he has changed since then is entirely separate and goes too indepth so I'll leave it to the wolves.

Also, yeah most Stony fans are Tony fans, you can't have one without the other, because Tony is a key part of making the relationship work, and from what I've found Most Steve tony shippers like them both but there's either a dissonance between liking one more than the other or liking them equally, and I think that remains prevalent outside of the MCU.

And for your final question, no, most Stony fans don't think avac Steve is the best character version, idk where you got that from, but it wasn't the fandom no siree, that seems a bit biased. And as I've said earlier, the consensus on "best Steve" usually seems to be either 616 Steve or Aa Steve, me personally I like aa steve more but my other friend likes 616 Steve, and I think it really comes down to these two because one is really solid adaptable and the other is the original character finally becoming good again with writers who care about him, (tony too, hes the main reason I got back into cap comics!)

And the money we're going to put towards building homeless shelters and all over the world just like he wants to they were trying to get it to him and they stop it and they're making it so the letter itself won't make it so we have to take them once we take them we can't really put it back into the mail system and it's just a lot of letters and we have machines opening them and reading it it takes way too long and it's a quick process we still have people that we had to assign and we're getting more and more postal workers to work and it's a blessing they're telling us what's wrong and it's really been awesome this year there's so many letters that's ridiculous by the way and they're floating around they're actually going to fort Myers and it's going to cost a little war and these people are massive assholes to our son and this is proof they used to do this but not like this and he wouldn't have done it unless they needed to hear it and they're going to disappear they're all fighting each other over it it's going to be over shortly

-there's some major changes coming to Charlotte county they're going to court today several of them for homicide and it's a court by jury trial by jury and the evidence is already presented in 10 cases that today is Three bottle and they may not give them a long rebuttal and there might be sentencing today we don't really anticipate it we think will be Monday but that's what's going on since you're on trial for homicide if they commit a crime they're going right to prison and it said it too in the documents they've committed several and several of them are sought on special warrant

-Stan is actually very mad he's angry at these people he left the house the apartment and he left it in Mass it's not a huge mess with things are broken the toilet doesn't work right and it's the new one you have to put a new one in some of the cabinets are broken and it's their new cabinets the air stinks and they have to treat the floor with something which might ruin the tile and the title job was half-assed and the stuff below it was gross and our son says you have to like hire your own people to do it because he'll never fix it right and he agrees with him is a special treatment that you do to the concrete and bleach is not it my son said it just married or ruin it or scar it and you have to you have to actually spray it with a pressure washer so he knows what it is and they've got to go in there and do it again probably pull the tile out retail the whole place put in new fixtures and fix the cabinets spray the whole place down I mean it's just nasty so they're going to be doing that and he's probably not going to hire them hopefully cuz it won't do it right and Mike's too wants to be in there and he can fight these idiots he thinks it's a good idea the roof too which might go ahead and he's been talking about that idea so

-other things are happening and they're pushing their way in to the Golden corral we hate them for it they're disgusting and their losers but we're taking measures and the pseudo empire is moving on them

-there's a lot of things happening today there are probably 50 people that are going to be hauled in this 40 households back out at the first ring and it's going to start up pretty soon it's going to be big today and they're going to get hit and wiped out

-the UK is embroiled it is a huge fight and it is starting up right now a lot of them are going to get hit it's getting much bigger today there is a gigantic fleet heading out there and the evacuation is slated to happen today out of the middle areas but The fleets are heading out to the UK but the evacuation might start sometime soon first row of ships will be at the mouth of the rivers in about 2 hours and they already left they're half mile and one mile it's about 300 ships total there's other news we're going to announce shortly

I can't stand it but it's work and it's going on and it's working and it's our stuff it's just very caustic and I see it and it is heinous and I know it's coming now and it's a plan and it's going to be a lot of stuff moving around lots of things changing real fast and I'm getting accustomed to it now the thing with the pseudo empire is interesting and what he's saying about the stone chips because we really can't let them have them they suck so bad both groups and foreigners and I'm going to start working on that one way to do it is to get automobile stuff going so they can see and they say we have it going and that's great and we need more every country has their own mini and the minis are working in Europe there's a French one in Africa they have one and we want to get something going like the international harvester and they have that in Africa but we want to get it going in South America these are great vehicles down there and my husband says that they use and that's Chris they use tons of pickup trucks Datsun size and the international harvester would be perfect if we can't get dots and down there or Nissan and it's true we can't so we're going to start it up and vital on the line

I may be posting some short things until I get my brain back. My goal is to write quick prompts, less than a page. Admittedly, this one is two, but it's a good start. Not writing wide, but goal wise.

An Alliance Made In Paradise

"So we filled the cake up with hundreds of monkeys and had the old lady who lives in a mirror make them look like me, and then they came jumping out of the cake right in the middle of the party, shishi, can you imagine?"

Zoro cocks his head, considering what a mess only Luffy could make out of a giant cake. He pictures it again, only this time with a hundred Luffys instead of just the one. It's about the same amount of destruction, but more bouncing. "Sure, okay." Zoro shrugs, unbothered by Luffy's questioning his ability to imagine something so simple. It's clear his captain is in one of those excitable moods. It's been a while since he's been this worked up telling Zoro about some big adventure that wasn't one that had only just happened. Of course, it's been a while since he's seen his captain.

The last month or whatever - hard to keep track after being stuffed into some metal can and sunk down below the waves - Zoro has been taking care of those of the crew smart enough to know better than to pay the damn curly brow any attention when females are involved. Please. As though Zoro was about to go save that idiot's ass when he obviously could have defeated them all at Zou and at least waited around until Luffy came. But no, he had to be all dramatic about it and go off on his own. Probably shouting about how brave and selfless he was the whole time, and didn't "Nami-chan" (disgusting) find it attractive how he was acting so nobly? Tch. The cook deserved whatever fate he'd made for himself, that's Zoro's opinion. But he also wasn't going to stop Luffy from going after the idiot cook, not if he was determined to. After all, Luffy is the captain, and if he decides the worthless pervert is worth saving then he would be rescued. Just not by Zoro.

Which is why Zoro spent the last who knows how long with The Heart pirates, heading up to Wano. The crew was weird, in Zoro's opinion. Probably had to do with being cramped up under the sea in such tight quarters. There is just something about them. Plus, there were so many rules. Don't swing that sword around the control panels, you can't just open the hatch when we're submerged, those weights are too big to fit on board. Usopp and Franky seemed to get along with them alright, and Robin had been amused by them the same way she seems amused by everything (including Zoro, and he still hasn't decided if that's good or duel worthy) but Zoro didn't like them. At least most of them. The cook was alright. He didn't make the best food but he wasn't old curly brow. The bear was pretty cool. He liked napping in the sun and sometimes would surface and collapse on the top deck. Zoro often used him like a really fluffy pillow. One time he'd been lying out there when suddenly he heard soft but pointed footsteps. He hadn't been surprised to see Torao in front of him, glaring down at him.

"Well?" The other pirate had said as if they had a whole conversation when actually Zoro had just been dreaming up a new move where he tossed Wado Ichimonji into the air, did the cool cross slash, spun around, and caught it back between his teeth just like that. He just needed to work out a few more details.

Something about Law's face told him that isn't what the other man had come to hear about.

"Well what?" Zoro asked, because what else could he do when he had no idea what Law was talking about. But the other captain, he just made a loud huff of air, turned, and matched back down into the ship.

Zoro still isn't sure what he'd been so upset about.

His captain is a lot easier to understand, at least to Zoro. Whatever he says he does, and whatever he does, he means, unless he hadn't meant to. It's much easier to understand. Luffy doesn't give him cryptic looks, or lecture him in this low but proud voice where Zoro feels like he's being told off for messing up simple kata. He missed having his captain around, even at times like this when the rubber boy is wrapped around his shoulder and waist refusing to walk when he easily could have, and instead choosing Zoro as an ideal ride. All the while happily chatting on about his adventure in escaping some other yonko. Not that Zoro is surprised. Luffy is hardly going to lose against a single damn pirate - yonko or not - not when he's the man who will become king.

"And then everyone started throwing cake which is kind of terrible, because it was probably a really good cake, but it's okay because Sanji made another one! I didn't get to eat it but it smelled so good! I'll bet even you would have liked it, Zoro!"

Zoro just gives a snort at that. He's ot overly fond of sweets to begin with, much less the idea of eating something that damn cook inevitably made while risking his life for some stupid woman who isn't even on their crew. He would grumble about it, but he really has missed Luffy's energy, that sunshine that follows him wherever he goes.

Torao could get excited about stuff, too, it's just different that's all. When Toroa finds something to get excited about, he doesn't bounce around and cling to it and try to lick it just to see how it tastes and pulls Zoro along so he can see it too. He just gets this slight almost smile. It's not really a smile, but his lips form this thin line and turn up in a way that isn't quite joyful and isn't quite easy going. It's not at all silly, but it does look rather dangerous. Zoro doesn't understand a lot about Torao, but that slight smile he understood immediately. The sharpness of it, the way it cuts across the usual frustration and grimness of his face.

Zoro found that almost smile of his usually meant trouble, and Zoro liked that. He also found that some part of him, a weird part locked inside his gut, liked it even without the promise of a sword fight. Zoro isn't sure what that is all about, so he doesn't worry about it. If it were important, Zoro would know. He just would.

"Eh, weddings seem boring. All that stuffy tradition and for what? Just to let people know you like someone you already know you like?" That doesn't sound like a fun time to Zoro, not even with a giant cake pull of monkeys throwing icing in a yonko's face. Now maybe if it were a giant bowl of sake…

"It's not JUST that though," Luffy insists, tugging at Zoro's hair, which he understands means his captain wants him to turn. Only then he pulls again. Urg, make up which way you want to go before pulling at him! "Oh, also!" Even with all the tugging, Zoro doesn't expect the slam to the top of the head. It doesn't hurt, it's just more that he's spent a month adjusting to a captain who doesn't just do shit like that. "Apparently you do weddings for alliances, too!"

Again, Zoro merely shrugs. Other people can do as they like, it's hardly his life and his choice to make. "Which is why you need to marry Torao."

Luffy nearly gets dropped to the floor. The only thing that stops him is the heavy grip he has around Zoro. "What are you talking about!?" Zoro tries to twist back to glare at his captain, but that's tough business when his captain is all smiley and also right behind him here Zoro pointedly can't get a good angle to scowl at. "Luffy! You can't just tell me to marry some other captain!"

From what he can see of Luffy's expression, the pirate is biting his lip. He looks almost… regretful. Only then why would he have been the one to suggest such a crazy thing? "Torao hadn't mentioned that pirate alliances are supposed to have big wedding parties!" And for a moment his eyes brighten and Zoro thinks he can almost see his captain's logic. "Imagine a huge party with all the meat and rice and sake you can eat!" The joy is just a flicker then, and the uncertainty in Luffy's face makes Zoro uncertain, so in response he straightens up, holds Luffy even higher. He won't have his captain doubting himself. "We ARE allies with Torao, though, and Zoro is the first person to join my crew….."

So of course that would be how Luffy would show someone how much the alliance met. Obviously, he wouldn't get married. Being married isn't like having nakama. It's something responsible, adult, restrained. Just like, Zoro imagines, Luffy often sees him. And he knows Zoro would never say no, to deny his orders.

Zoro hopes Luffy knows he would never deny him anything.

Still, his captain doesn't look completely happy, but it's what he's saying he wants. Luffy usually says what he's going to do and does what he says, this is new. He can imagine how furious Torao will be when he learns of this insane new plan, he probably won't even allow it to pass. So Zoro can say yes and feel perfectly comfortable with that choice knowing nothing will come of it.

Or, Law could smile. Nearly smile. He could listen through Luffy's insane ideas and then fix Zoro with this dark look, his lips turning ever so slightly up. He can imagine the chill that runs through him when Torao takes his time looking Zoro over. No, it's not just imagination. Zoro actually shivers.

That stupid feeling in his gut gets tighter some how.

Luffy is staring at him like he wants to take it back but he also really wants that wedding feast and he just isn't sure which way to go. Zoro represses the rest of his reactions. He smiles at Luffy. "Aye, aye, Captain," and he starts heading off towards the ship, he's sure. "Only one condition… You have to be the one to explain it to Torao!"

I have some feelings about Red Velvet Cookie alright? 

The first of these feelings is that he shouldn’t be shipped with Pastry Cookie. In my opinion (emphasis on opinion, I’m not saying this as fact so don’t say I’m attacking you for liking your weird het ship in a gay ass game), it’s a toxic ship and disrespectful to both characters. Now this might get lengthy, and if you enjoy PastryVelvet I don’t recommend reading this post unless you want to see some information and opinions of someone who believes that Red Velvet is a gay man. 

First off, let’s start with the obvious: Red Velvet and Pastry have a clear disliking for one another. Their entire story in the Cake Tower is about Pastry being sent on a mission to investigate a disturbance at the Holy Oven, where Red Velvet is taking care of the cake hounds that are birthed from the oven. Admittedly I was on Pastry Cookie’s side at first, after all we had been led to believe that the Dark Cookies were corrupting the oven to make the cakes, and that Pastry was going to chase them off. 

But that’s not what’s happening. 

No, we get the story once Red Velvet is defeated. Cakes and Cookies are born of the same oven, perhaps made of different dough but all come from the same place. He also protects and loves the cakes, showing a care across races that no other cookie shows. He quickly becomes extremely sympathetic, to the point where Pastry looks more like the bad guy than Red Velvet. 

Pastry doesn’t stop trying to kill Red Velvet, not even when he calls her out for being discriminatory towards the cakes. She finally stops when Pomegranate shows up, and she falls into the batter. Even after being shown the back story of Dark Enchantress, she still only doubts her church. 

Now I will say that it is clear that Pastry Cookie is being brainwashed. We’re shown the way the church works, refusing to give answers and demanding loyalty and servitude. Yes, the church is awful and more like a cult than anything, and Pastry is a victim, but that doesn’t excuse her trying to kill Red Velvet and refusing to stop even when he’s down. They exchanged a lot of insults when they interacted, so in my opinion, that isn’t something that would just go away. 

I do believe that Pastry has the opportunity to be corrupted, after all she saw the same sight that corrupted White Lily Cookie.  But that would merely be an au as far as we know. In canon though, she and Red Velvet are on opposite sides of this war, and Romeo and Juliet never did end well. 

Second, and the reason for the title of this post, Red Velvet and Licorice do have some rather adorable chemistry. And of course I will expand upon this. 

While in the game, we don’t see Red Velvet and Licorice interact that much, as Licorice was part of the game from the beginning, and, like Strawberry Crepe, Red Velvet was added to the story when he came out, giving him his own little arc when he faces down the Gingerbrave gang. 

However! Devsisters started posting these cute shorts about the sugar gnomes that also gives us a little insight to the regular lives of the cookies. In the first episode, we see Licorice taking Red Velvet’s cake hounds for a walk. While he does seem to be irritated, he doesn’t seem to be really upset, and only hands the dogs over to a sugar gnome after continually being pestered about it. 

I personally interpret this to mean that while Licorice sees walking the dogs as some sort of chore, he does still care about the cake hounds. Hell, he’s even friends with a cake werehound, so while he does seem like a catboy, he’s still a dog person at heart. 

A few of my friends and I have discussed the Dark Cookies having redemption, and I think that Red Velvet and Licorice could very well have that redemption arc. Red Velvet wants a world where Cakes and Cookies can be equal, and he is willing to at least tolerate those who share this ideal. 

Licorice wants to be accepted and acknowledged for his skills as a mage, even though he doesn’t regularly show his desire for acceptance. His mistreatment at the hands of Pomegranate Cookie really hurts him, and I believe that if someone was to accept him, tell him he’s doing a good job, and reward him, he would go to their side. 

All in all, I believe that Licorice and Red Velvet can give what the other wants, and is therefore one of my favorite ships in this fandom. If you read this all the way through, feel free to put your thoughts in the notes, but please don’t be super hateful. I tried to make this post as polite as I could, so keep any discourse polite too.

THANK YOU for giving me an excuse to publicly ramble about PAPA G AND CHUCK beware of Spoilers within ALSO HERE’S A PIC happy valentines day

When they met and Chuck was still Stuck in the floor, like Post-Chicken-Feed-Missing-Scene, Chuck would be RUDE as HELL to Papa G. But Papa G took it as realizing he’s just A Guy and was like AH MAYBE I SHOULDA BEEN GIVIN HIM REAL FOOD and then he does that, but Chuck is still a bastard to him. Not to The Kid’s knowledge tho, he only found out that Papa G knew about Chuck’s existence in the second episode like we saw.

Papa G literally just looked at Chuck and how Evil he was being at the beginning and was like OH YES WE CAN BE FRIENDS I LIKE THIS GUY cuz he DID save him and want him to be redeemed and have the last ring to be on the team... Papa G’s Immediate Trust.. like if u agree

I like to imagine that Papa G actually did have da iced tea with Chuck to get to know him :] this was Post-Chuck-getting-Cut-in-Half. Papa G is Very Curious about Chuck but Chuck’s still a rude little man at this point and Papa G laughs off his behaviour. Papa G might be f*cked up enough that he does enjoy his company, bad vibes and all

Chuck has NO idea what to make of Papa G here because no one else has ever shown him kindness or wasn’t annoyed at him. It doesn’t stop him from being a force of negativity though cuz at this point he still Believes he’s going to conquer the earth.

This ended up being like a timeline of their relationship and not relationship headcanon UUHH OOPS!!!!!

OK, Chuck actually likes that he calls him Charles it’s the special name :]

I’m prepared to be proven wrong but it would be epic if Chuck started calling Papa G “George” because he was there to hear that that is his first name and Papa G like with Tuna Sandwich doesn’t mind being called it, it’s just his name. Also George is my real name and I’d love to hear Chuck say. Also Also George and Charles are gay old man names

Uh oh I’m talking more about timeline stuff but some time after the events of the big showdown and they’re dealing with the fact that Chuck is deciding to stay here on earth, Papa G and The Kid make him his own living space there in the junkyard with them. Not sure where or what it’d look like but it means a lot to Chuck (makes this face -> 🥺) I’d imagine since his species aren’t given their own names / have individuality he wasn’t given a space of his own to do whatever he wanted with

Since they no longer have the rings, Chuck helps Papa G as an extra hand doing work in the yard (Papa G had to get used to doing stuff without being his own company :[ ) and Chuck ACTUALLY LOVES HELPING imagine that one scene where Papa G and Chuck are working together to build the ice cream megaphone truck, they’re both really skilled at building stuff and enjoy it so it’s like that pretty often!

I swear to god Papa G needs to get Chuck a wheelchair / make him one, I want to believe that he does have one and we just didn’t see it at the end of the time skip -_- :prayer: but they totally deck it the hell out (you KNOW Papa G is capable of making deadly death machines and you KNOW Chuck would absolutely love that sh*t!!!!)

Anyway back to the time skip relationship development thing: PAPA G SHOWS CHUCK AROUND HIS HOUSE I wish we knew what inside the house looked like besides the kitchen sink lol but Papa G figured if he’s gonna be around here more often he might as well show him where HE lives! Papa G is SUPER excitedly showing him all the weird stuff he’s accumulated over his lifetime. Chuck doesn’t Get the specialness of physical possessions and calls it Junk but Papa G doesn’t mind! He shows things and Chuck is confused about certain things (being an Alien) and Papa G is happy to explain everything to him.

Papa G shares Chuck his art and is showing him painting ;_; once again Chuck is a bastard and doesn’t totally get it. Papa G would definitely call HIM an artist, pointing out that all the building that Chuck does is artwork, those comics that he spent all that time reading was him appreciating the art, and that changes the way he views it. Chuck makes his own dam comics, I’d imagine the way he’d draw is very unique and the text is written in his language, and then it’s Papa G who doesn’t totally get it but is ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT IT!!!

Also Papa G totally takes Chuck out to the middle of nowhere to go look for junk, this is probably Chuck’s Least Favourite Activity LOL but they do spend a lot of time talking about anything, I’m really curious about what the kind of things they’d even say when they’re not faced with any threat and are only with each other *looks up at the sky in thought..*

Chuck please go off about your previous life away from earth I feel like as soon as he came here he kinda just accepted himself being Stuck Chuck and therefore had no attachment to being a nameless body in an alien army. Also Papa G please open up about your messed up secret history that warranted the government keeping tabs on you and made you live almost completely isolated.

See^ I think whatever they got going on on a DEEP LEVEL could be wild and would have so much to unravel, Chuck’s life before this was probably just 90% seeing various people DIE and was simply made to Kill people for his leader. And. you KNOW Papa G has something Messed Up about him + Is Traumatized / got “bad flashbacks” + the whole seeing himself die and being numb to it. And now that they are people who are trying to save lives on their team they could Relate to each other as the two older guys with UNKNOWN HISTORY!!!!

UUUUH OK SO SHIP HEADCANONS RIGHT. RIGHT. They hold hands :] they rarely kiss it’s mostly Papa G who kisses Chuck on the face but Chuck is forbidden from kissing unless Papa G wants to go to sleep. Also Chuck likes to be held by Papa G, they hug a lot :D Papa G takes Chuck out to the diner and gets him everything he wants <3 they go to the house and watch movies and Kid joins them too as a family ;_; Papa G goes to sleep in his god forsaken hammock with Chuck, and Chuck is like So This Is Your Weird-Ass Cocoon Huh and Papa G is like HAHA YUP and its sweet.

I’m gonna end this here thank you for reading, this is the kinda stuff I ramble on and on like this in private but I hope u enjoy some of my thoughts about this I think it’s a genius ship with so much potential and is my favourite thing right now THANKS
