/  Sometimes I think about the fact that to follow his dharma, karna declined the chance to be announced king and have the kingdom of the entire world (as eldest of the Pandavas), Krishna, a ‘good’ family name, and even his own mother Kunti
#thinking about how k.arna followed his dharma till the end#as far as i understand; dharma does not really translates into 'evil' or 'good' as we tend to understand it#k.arna is a character who follows the path of dharma a lot of times in the epic yet also does adharmic actions as well#thinking about;;#k.arna being by the side of the 'unrighteous' aka Duryodhana despite k.arna himself being aware of this fact#dharma is something that goes beyond what is 'man made' its something intrinsic#its something that is innate basically#our internal duty#example of this through k.arna is that his destiny was to honor his titles as daanaveera and as Vrisha#aka his charitable nature and as one who keeps his vows#amongst others#we see the first one as example; when he donates his armor and earing away despite having to lit cut it off his body#the second when he promises his mother that on the war he will not slain any of his other brothers except a.rjuna; so at the end#his mother will still have 5 children (As either he or a.rjuna will die)#(which he -did- know he was going to die anyways but went on regardless)#and i think thats a very clear example of him following his dharma#its like;; fire giving warmth and light#its natural for fire to do so#its what fire has to do naturally; its intrinsic to fire#if k.arna went against these things; he would be following an adharmic path#so it sounds kind of contradictory considering he followed a path that did not follow god's way yet at the same time#he was following his intrinsic nature#so that's why i feel the concept of dharma and k.arna is a lil more complicated than calling it following 'good' or 'evil' paths#yet k.arna did do adharmic actions as well bc he is human too#and it happened in many occasions and that is why he is not innocent nor pure hearted and why it brought him unhappiness as well#THONKS#i think its so so interesting#and it adds so much depth to his character#k.arna is so much more than 'goodest sunboi' or 'pure innocent man who did nothing wrong'#or in f.ate's context; 'haha he doesnt understand indirects and jokes'

Gifts and Fun Consequences
Pairing: Rhaenyra Targaryen x GN!Reader
Words: 3k
Warnings: A little bit of violence.
Summary: Playing a traitor hunter is not something your Queen is happy about.
══════════════════
The whole world around you was burning. Not literally. But, even in that aspect, it would not be long for it to happen as well. You had always liked to think you were a good person. Calm, kind, collected.
And you had been. For a while. Until Hightowers had decided to steal the throne. There was almost nothing from the old you in the new you. The betrayal had changed you. It was not even done to you, but it still felt like a knife had been buried in your back and twisted for good measure.
The feeling only had deepened when you had found out one of your closest friends had not shared the same views as you and his brother. Arryk's choice had cut you deep. As deep as your sword had cut him when he had tried to murder the Queen. And when he had not seen anything wrong with attacking Erryk in the process.
You'd found them battling in the Queen's sleeping chambers. It hadn't taken you long to put two and two together when you'd seen her terrified and curled up on the floor. Her features had been painted in colors you had never wanted to see.
Your sword out of its leather sheath had been the next thing you had known before you'd charged at Arryk when he'd knocked his brother down. You would never forget the look in his eyes.
The regret, the sorrow. But the readiness to end his brother's life had been there too. And it'd been the last thing to push you one step closer to dragging your sword through his stomach after he would not have listened to your pleas.
Nothing had been the same since that day. Since it had happened a week ago. Erryk had not been himself at all, but had never put the blame on you. And it was okay. You were blaming yourself for all three of you. There was enough guilt in you already.
That was why you did your best to mask the way emotions pulled at you. How they attempted to sneak their way into your head and lead to your demise.
Maybe that was why you had started making unwise decisions. Decisions that had seemed great and very well planned until you had taken action. It had not been the tactics of the war that had led you to those decisions.
It had been your anger at everyone and everything.
That was how you found yourself in this situation right now.
The clinking of the metal was bouncing off the stone walls as you walked with one hand over your sword and the other fisted in the hair of an unfortunate man. Unfortunate because he'd had the rare occasion of you making it your personal mission to find him.
He was not too smart, so it had not been a challenge at all. Taking candy out of a child's hand would be harder. You should have done this weeks ago when the Greens had decided to put their impostor on your Queen's throne.
A loud thud sounded throughout the big hall as you pushed the man to his knees. Your tight grip on the hair made him wince, his face scrunching up in pain before you let go of his head and stood a few steps in front of him.
Fixing your armor and making sure your sword was safely in its sheath, you cleared your throat while he stared up at you with a foolish smirk on his dirty face. "Is this what you truly fell into doing?" His head shook as it dropped loosely.
"Joining the unrightful, fake heir?" He spoke, seething out his words like a snake. "Betraying your King is disgusting to do even for you." He looked at you with displeasure written all over his face before he spat in front of your feet.
Taking a slow and deep breath, you looked up while pursing your lips. He really did not know when to stop. "Ah!" His head whipped as a strong punch was delivered to his face.
The air got knocked out of his lungs, causing his mouth to open as he blinked slowly. "I do not know what you are speaking of. I only know of the Queen Rhaenyra." Your stoic tone had nothing in common with the actions of your fist.
"I am not aware of what kind of people you acquaint yourself with, Cole—" Continuing, you raised one hand, clenching and unclenching it. "But I am not interested in joining."
Criston huffed. And huffed again. Before an airy chuckle turned into a laugh that you fought hard not to roll your eyes at. "You truly want to devote your life to serve that who-" The word could never be finished as your fist connected with his cheek once more.
"Oh, excuse me." Your face scrunched up in concern and confusion. Your upper body bent to get closer to his face. "Did you want to say something?" The question seemingly innocent held a huge warning behind itself.
If the way you said it was not enough, the look on your face should let him know you would not listen to insults thrown at the Queen.
His lips pursed as he looked at you with anger in his eyes. "You are pathetic." Almost spitting at you as he spoke, his nostrils flared. "You could have been a great knight, but instead, you are just her whore." His bitter tone made your lips pucker out for a second while you listened.
Your eyes went to the side and up while you slightly scrunched your eyebrows. But your gaze quickly found his again. Taking a step closer, you did not fear him doing anything. Even with his hands untied.
Lowering your upper body to the point your eye line was almost at the same level as his, you tilted your head. "I can be her whore." You said lowly. "I can be her slut." You added in a careless tone. "I can be whatever she wishes to call me."
The low volume of your voice only intensified the message you were giving. There were no threats, but he looked worried. "And I will still have more honor than you in your white cloak." You finished the sentence with a click of your tongue as you let out the last word.
Your burning gaze stayed on him as the silence embraced both of you. His eyes going between yours before his throat bopped.
"Ser Y/n!" You heard the only voice that could ever make you do whatever she wanted you to do. The only voice you followed the orders of. Sometimes not very well. Like this time.
You stood back to your full height while smiling at Criston. "What is the meaning of this?" You turned around just in time to see her confusion and irritation as she waved her hand.
"I have brought you a gift, Your Grace." Her head tilted at you as she squinted her eyes. You acted like nothing happened, back to your Queensguard-self. Back to behaving like a true knight on duty.
But she did not see you just as that anymore. She knew your true self. "A gift?" She repeated, unimpressed. "Is this the gift you are speaking of?" The annoyance in her tone was shining through as she gestured with her hand to Criston.
However, her eyes were glued to you. And they were not filled with happiness. "Yes, Your Grace." You stepped to the side, giving her a clear line of sight from the direction of where she was standing.
She glanced at the man before her eyes rolled as she sighed unhappily. Her hands holding onto her long dress. "And to what possible end would you bring him into the Dragonstone?" Her mouth was tense, the skin on her neck straining with each word she spoke.
"He had plenty of things to say, Your Grace." You informed her before moving your eyes to Criston. "Did you not?" The rhetorical question made the man look up at you as he avoided Rhaenyra's gaze.
He, however, stayed quiet. "Did you not?!"
"Yes!" You smiled to yourself satisfied when he finally responded after you had raised your voice.
His eyes dropping to the ground as he kept kneeling on the hard stone. Rhaenyra finally looked at him for longer than a second. Intrigue appeared on her features.
"What things?" Her words held some edge, opposite to the, now, calm demeanor. "Tell your Queen what things." You nodded at the man who would not raise his gaze above the floor.
You waited for him to speak as Rhaenyra looked at you with parted lips. Sucking in your bottom lip, you slightly shook your head before stretching your mouth into an unamused smile.
"Tell your Queen!" Your voice was so loud it bounced off the walls in the hall and caused the blonde woman to look at you with widened eyes.
"She's not my Queen!" He finally replied, trying to be loud but could barely be heard.
Your eyes found Rhaenyra, not believing in Criston's foolishness. "If she is not, then you are a traitor to the crown." You declared openly, your hands resting on the handle of your sword.
The Queen's gaze was roaming your face as you bit the corner of your lip from the inside. Standing on guard right next to the dark-haired man, your head was looking straight ahead at nothing in particular.
"It is not possible for me to be what you speak of when I believe in one, true King Aegon II." Your mouth ticked at his words. You had never liked him. Ever since he had joined the Kingsguards.
He represented nothing with himself. He was no real warrior. "What will you choose to do with me for speaking honestly, Ser Y/n?" Your eyes faltered at the mocking tone of your name as you could see from the corner how Rhaenyra's face changed into anger upon hearing it too.
Moving slowly and lowering your head to his, you watched as his ignorant grin widened. "The only person who can decide your fate is Queen Rhaenyra." The firmness of your words made the man blink.
"And you should be happy about it." Now, it was your turn to smirk at him. "Because I already have a lot of things planned for you in case she needs any help with deciding." Criston's face quickly dropped as he paled a little.
It made the corners of your mouth lift even higher as you stood straighter. At times, you could be perceived as insane. And it was perfect for torturing methods. Or situations like this where it did not hurt to scare and threaten unworthy people.
Criston knew what you were capable of. You were also sure he would not want to experience how far your cruelty could go.
"That is enough." The Queen's voice made you stand straighter again as you would not look away from Criston. You relished in the fear that was forming on his face. "Take him away to the dungeon."
Rhaenyra ordered two guards, gesturing with her head as her hands laid neatly at her front. "And you, Ser Y/n." Your posture formed to perfection as you stood with your chin up. "I will be waiting for the explanation in my chambers." Her words were sharp as you listened.
She would not look away from you for a longer while before shaking her head in irritation and walking away.
——
"Are you mad?!" She almost yelled out as soon as the doors closed, leaving only the two of you to privacy. "Have you not listened to what I said before?!" It would have to be the angriest you had ever seen her.
"I have, my Queen." There was nothing you could say or do that would make it better right now. She was already mad at you. Mad for ignoring her orders.
"Chasing after Cole alone? Only Daemon could be accused of such foolishness!" Her feet were taking her back and forth as she was pacing around the chambers.
Her hand was on her forehead as she rubbed it. "Cole is nothing close to a warrior, he could not be a challenge even at his best-" Her angry eyes found you quickly as you started speaking.
"It is not Cole I am worried about!" She cut you off sharply, her gaze piercing through yours as you sighed. "It is everyone else that could have seen you, kidnapped you, even taken your life!" Her voice kept getting louder and louder.
But you did not even flinch, you listened to everything she had to say. You took a half-step forward, reaching for her with your hand. "Rhaen, nothing happen-"
"That is no way to speak to your Queen!" Her teeth were clenched as she looked at you with wide, full-of-rage eyes.
You immediately stepped back to your previous spot. Hands going to your sides as you stood to your full height. Your head was unmoving as you stared blankly ahead.
"You disregarded my orders, left the Dragonstone without my permission at a convenient time when I could not have noticed your absence until recently." She started ranting and listing every single thing you had done. Every rule you had broken. "And most importantly, you could have died!"
Her wild eyes were going from one thing to another and another, trying to find anything that would occupy her head. She was leaning on the table, her arms spread widely as she breathed deeply.
You stayed silent. Your stance did not falter even for a second as she was composing herself. Her hand rubbing at her eyebrows before she turned around to you.
"Will you not say anything?!" She asked loudly, raising her hands and making them drop to her sides.
She tensed her entire mouth as she waited for you. "I apologize for my actions, Your Majesty, it will not happen again." You spoke softly, not letting your eyes wander to her. Not letting them connect with hers.
She huffed in irritation, turning her body around and running a hand through her hair before moving back to you. "Is that all you have to say?" She pursed her lips, her hand gesturing to you as its palm was pointed up.
When you did not reply, she started walking and stood right in front of you. She stared right into your eyes, going between them, as you did your best to avoid her gaze.
"Are you not going to embrace me?" Her tone was still firm, but you could sense the falter in her words.
"I am not allowed to-"
"Oh, for Gods' sake, Y/n." Her eyes rolled in frustration as she grabbed both of your hands and wrapped your arms around herself.
Your mouth twitched as a small smile threatened to break out on your lips when she pushed herself closer to you. "Do not dare to do this ever again." She spoke in your neck and you finally let a grin spread on your face as you tightened your arms around her.
"I was losing my mind worrying about you." One of your hands went up to her hair and softly caressed it as the metal of your armor clinked.
She huffed in annoyance at how stiff your movements were and pulled away while looking at your chest. "Take this off. I hate it when it gets in my way." You could not help the chuckle that passed your lips as you started getting rid of the armor.
"I do not think you like anything or anyone getting in your way, my dear." Her head tilted at your words, but you saw the hint of a smile that formed on her lips.
"I do not mind someone getting in my way." The chuckle only intensified as your head shook while she quickly raised her eyebrows at you. A playful smirk playing on her lips.
When you managed to put away all of the parts, she quickly stepped back into your personal space and sneaked her arms around your torso. "If you ever do that again, there will be serious consequences." Her breath was hitting your lips as she kept her head up to look at you.
Smirking at her, you embraced her with your strong arms before pulling her closer and ghosting your lips over hers. "It depends on what type of consequences we are speaking of." Your low voice had the woman glancing down at your lips as she dug her short nails into your back.
"Some of them proved to be quite tempting." You added, brushing her lips with yours. And it was all it took for her to connect them, fisting your shirt and pulling at it.
You did not waste any second and kissed her back instantly, hands lying flat on her back before one of them wandered lower. Her mouth opened when you squeezed her backside and you swiftly pushed your tongue inside.
Moans sounded through both of your throats before she pulled away to get some air. Your mouth did not wait for hers to come back as you attached it to her soft skin. Sucking and nibbling on her neck, you heard her sighs getting louder.
"To the bed." Her words were quiet, but you were used to that in this kind of situation as she was losing herself.
"I thought you wanted to speak." Teasing her with a smirk on your face, you earned yourself a hard glare when she grabbed your hair and pulled you away from her neck.
"Do not test my patience any longer today." Your smirk widened so much it could break your face as you smashed your lips against hers and started walking her back to the bed.
The anticipation was rising for both of you as you were getting drunk on how eager she was.
"As you wish, my Queen."
After all, there was something you could do to make it better.

Daily Affirmations
I am more than the sum of my wounds.
I will bring honor to my family's name.
I am not dead. I blaze with fire.
I am as skilled in combat with my left hand as I had been with my right.
I have come too far to turn back now.
I burn. I burn. I burn.
All around me there is darkness and solitude, but I live, and they do not touch me.
Not yet.
My hand is stained with blood, cruelly but not unrighteously.
I am honoring my word.
My own men will turn from me, horrified at my black deeds, but my last brother will not abandon me.
I will not look at what I have done.
I will not turn back.
Certainly one more massacre will fix things.

The Twin Jades
dude sometimes I just come across such bad meta. it's even worse if it starts off good and turns bad.
Good Meta Points:
• The Lans really love younger child Wangji (no pets allowed, but wangji can have them. Wangji wants lotus pod seeds and gets them etc.)
• Instead of giving agency to his actions and thoughts, they think he's being influenced or corrupted by others to act in such ways (especially Lan Qiren.)
Bad Meta Points
• Lan Wangji is spoilt, similar to Nie Huaisang or Jin Zixuan.
• Gets the lowest punishment at all times (pfft.)
• "I get it you waited 13 years but you fucked off into the sunset with your husband leaving your emotionally unstable brother and duties"
• "Good to see people talking about Lan Wangji's flaws" - mentions him being spoilt and demanding instead of his actual flaws.
Like... you cannot seriously point out how he gets to have rabbits as a point of him being spoilt. Lan Wangji has made like one error in his life in his studies. He's assigned himself punishment for stuff that wasn't even done by will (coughs, wwx). He's made his decisions and lived with the consequences.
Despite what you say, Lan Xichen isn't a terrible brother to Wangji. Neither is Lan Wangji a selfish brother.
Sibling relationships are complex, and between two individuals with their own set of values. Lan Wangji is totally righteous, even more than Nie Mingjue. He can't stand exaggerated, political loopholes and unrighteous acts. He does what he can do, working on the ground level.
Lan Xichen isn't Lan Wangji. He knows the world is filled with corrupted people, and challenging each and every one of them would lead to your own devastation (read: Wei Wuxian's biography). Thus, he tries extending his sympathy to all, and draws conclusions that allow the least possible damage. He does think Lan Wangji made a dire mistake with Wei Wuxian, because if not, he will have to face the fact that the world punished his brother for his righteousness and it would shatter his whole foundation (like it does).
But despite that, both of them share similarities. They both want the better of the world. Lan Wangji is brave enough to challenge the whole foundation of the cultivation world. Lan Xichen is brave enough to lay down peace even when it's so painfully obvious there's no option of it.
Lan Wangji trusts his brother enough to bring Wei Wuxian back to Cloud Recesses after getting stabbed at Jin Tower. Lan Xichen lives up to this trust and helps them investigate the matter. Lan Wangji even assures Wei Wuxian that his brother would not stand for Jin Guangyao if his crimes were true.
See, you don't have to completely have the same sort of sets of beliefs to be siblings. Sibling relationships are complex. Both these brothers know each other, their strengths and their weaknesses well. They may be exasperated at each other's insistence, yet they are well aware that they both have to walk their own paths.
Lan Xichen could never take away Lan Wangji's pain or fix him. Neither can Lan Wangji fix Lan Xichen.
But both of them will always have each other's backs. They are each other's families. Each other's brothers for life.
But at the same time, they have each their own paths to walk. People need to understand that it's not about a lack of sense of responsibility on Lan Wangji's side, but the realization that if he went back home, he may lose Wei Wuxian again. His uncle wants to take him back, lecture him and lock him into seclusion. His uncle wouldn't accept his proposal to be married to Wei Wuxian.
He doesn't give his uncle the chance to "accept" or not.
And he literally returns three months later.
I can't help but feel that those who say he was selfish do not have siblings. Or have bad sibling relationships. I'd say Lan Wangji and Lan Xichen have a perfectly good relationship if despite their differences, their terrible parentage, their opposing personalities, the roles they both played in each other's life (with Lan Xichen being sworn brothers to Jin Guangyao who played a major role in Wei Wuxian's fall, and Lan Wangji being Wei Wuxian's husband, who in turn, set the case back onto Jin Guangyao, thus hurting Lan Xichen), the things they couldn't help each other out of, but yet, they do trust each other and love each other.
And I trust that Lan Xichen will one day figure stuff out. There's a lyric in this MDZS song called unfettered. It is like:
The past is akin to dew in the morning. Even if it can be comprehended, it lays under layers and layers of fog.
In the end, hatred, love, resentment, debts and regrets all come to pass.
Just like how Lan Wangji is not his father, Lan Xichen will also not be his father. I don't think both of them had hurtful intentions towards the other at any point.
It's not like "Yunmeng bros" where JC intentionally wishes to cause pain to Wei Wuxian. It's not like the Nie bros, where NMJ has to be super over-protective of Huaisang.
It's just two siblings with their own lives choosing to be with each other, in happiness and in grief (mostly in grief uhm) in a terrible world where the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Blue (Hail)
Gender: Cis-Man
Pronouns: He/They
Sexuality: Demiromantic Pansexual
Height: 5’9
Age: 26
Likes: Swearing is his love language—makes him feel cool. Good at combat (yes he will beat the shit out of you for reasonable purposes). He’s a professional ice skater, he makes a lot of money; which explains why he owns a mansion :) He’s great at understanding people emotionally, and following their respectable boundaries. One of his guilty pleasures is charcoal painting.
Dislikes: Super lovey dovey things, when people come to his mansion for no reason, dressing up in stupid outfits. Shitty people I guess. He is terrible at mind games, manipulative behavior, and telling left from right.
Phobias: Acrophobia (Fear of Heights)
Weapons/Powers: Ice Scythe, Blue Beams, Glitch Abilities
Backstory: Was abused by his brother still, both emotionally and physically. But he still loves him, he knows he shouldn’t but he does anyways. He was forced to keep up this shitty persona by Stretch which in turn gave him several unstable relationships, being unable to be himself whilst also being horrific at lying. One day they came across a poor woman who wished for even the slightest amount of change. Stretch made fun of them and encouraged Blue to do so as well so he did. But after Stretch left, Blue secretly gave some money to the woman, who thanked him endlessly with a warm smile. Blue for once felt loved and appreciated—even when his whole life he was told to hate love, why did he want more so badly? A few years after the whole world begins to fall apart due to several rips in the timeline, (both Cross’s Timeline & the DT Timeline) Stretch trips and is hanging off a cliff, Blue tries to save him but fails. He’s very upset but keeps on running because he wants to survive; this new found motivation made him discover his ability to teleport. He ended up teleporting to a random city. He found a magazine and found out about ice skating, he then went into many competitions and was really good at it. He earned enough money for a huge mansion and is now rich as hell. He often donates to a bunch of charity centers, he adores the thanks and appreciation he usually gets back whenever he does stuff like that. He also loves helping others despite his brother telling him that it was wrong and that Blue didn’t deserve it. Part of him agrees with that, he still has some buried trauma that is unsolved and instead hidden by a pessimistic and easily angered persona. He is that one aggressively nice person, who will be calm and comforting if needed.
Relationships: He meets Error first, and then Cross. Cross and Error are pretty much companions who just decided to stick with him, and he doesn’t care enough to shoo them away. He prefers his own group the ‘Amicable Brigade’, (Blue, Cross, & Error) over the ‘Unrighteous Surrenders’, (Dream, Nightmare, & Ink). He has probably cussed everyone out at least once.

Mahabharata AU—pt.4
Masterlist<– rest of the parts here <3
This time...something happened even more shocking...
Savyasachi had started glowing in yellow light, it was like Suryanarayan had bestowed himself behind her.
Her form had suddenly changed to an ancient, elegant, beautiful yet utterly powerful woman with a silhouette of a goddess sitting on a lotus with four arms and holding lotuses in two of them behind her, as if signifying an incarnation of them. "From now on, i am not one of the Pandavas, i am not a Kaunteya, or even a member of the Kuru clan!" She snapped at everyone present.
Kunti gasped, horrified, while the Pandava brothers cried. The Kuru elders didn't know what to feel and shook their heads in sorrow. "Raaj Maata Kunti, Maharani Gandhari, Panchali, if you wish to save yourselves, then renounce and leave this court room. Because this whole court will drown today…" Everyone's eyes widened in horror or shock.
"I am not a human anymore...but Death..ONLY DEATH! I am the death of all the wicked men present in this unrighteous court! And I curse that....right now! At this very moment!-" "no Arjuni!" She got interrupted by Gandhari. Gandhari joined her arms before her. "Please don't curse, Arjuni! Forgive them! Please forgive them!"
The divine woman ignored the pleas of the Subalaputri. "Duryodhan! You are very attached to the wealth and throne of Hastinapur, no? Well, i curse you! I curse every single greedy men here! All of you would become poor, poorer than beggars! You all would have no food, and would be under so torturous conditions that you would beg to god for death every moment, but your suffering would not end, not until the Almighty himself decides to...That includes Dhritarashtra and Shakuni as well as the Kauravas too..." She looked at everyone with rageful eyes, not caring about any of the looks she was recieving.
"And those who stayed quiet...they would go through grave consequences..." she stated, her voice velvety and grave.
She looked at the dice table, clenched her teeth and flipped it over with such force that it broke into pieces, scattering all over on the lower floor.
Karna had then walked up to her, but she backed away yet again. "I am telling you! Do not even dare to come near me!" Arjuni, still in her unknown form, held out her hand again to stop him in his way. Karna did stop, but said "Arjuni, please, please calm down, please Behena, for your Jyesht...please."
The Kuru members couldn't even comprehend what was happening. First, the Vastraharan attempt of their Rajkumari, then her changing her form to an ancient, slightly blue yet dusky, powerful, exquisite, divine woman and now this? Angaraj calling his greatest rival his sister?
"I am not Arjuni any longer! I am not the person you all once knew!"
"Parthavi..." a soft, melodious, impossibly gentle voice called out. Everyone turned their heads towards the sudden appearance of the godly presence. Duryodhan scoffed, angrily.
Krishna ignored the stares and focused on the other divine presence and walked towards her with benign steps. "Oh Parthavi...you are right. You are only Madhav's Parthavi and Narayan's Naari..." The mention of the names seemed to break something inside of her, because her body had jerked in a way as if she had just broken out of a trance herself. Krishna still continued his way towards her with tranquil steps.
The divine form as well as the silhouette of goddess Lakshmi broke and dissappeared, as if mixed into the air.
Madhusudhan by that time had gotten close to Vijayaa and had embraced her, his embrace providing her the solace she needed so much. Her body finally became tired and she had finally embraced the oblivion she had so wished for, falling unconscious in her Madhav's, in her Narayan's arms.
He was right...she was Madhav's Parthavi...and Narayan's Naari...

Vaishyaputra
His armour-clad biceps shone against the sun’s glare. Sword gripped firmly in his seasoned yet vigorous arms declared the warrior’s bravado without words. Threatening to lash the Narayani soldier off his saddle, his brown eyes shadowed by his flowing locks resembled fiery mare of an armed cavalry.
Yuyutsu glanced at his opponent’s foot, his internal conscience patted his back. His skeptic had been right. The warrior charging him on was Bhairav, the most fearsome Narayani soldier. The latter was part of the overwhelmingly large infantry of Dwarkadheesh’s colossal of an army. Bhairav was rumoured to be in possession of disproportionate feet, right one larger than its counterpart. Yuyutsu turned his unflinching gaze to the radiant face of his challenger.
“Oh bless me! So, you are the infamous traitor. My suspicion was true after all!” Bhairav chuckled as he dismounted his horse, striding towards Yuyutsu, his eyes unblinking, his mouth in an unsmiling sneer.
“Spare me the niceties, Bhairav. This is a war of arms, not words.” Yuyutsu said, rubbing the hilt of his sword subtly, as he took one step closer towards the renowned challenger of his half-brother’s army.
Both warriors locked their eyes, taking a silent vow of combat. The arid breeze flowed past them, marking their territories. Yuyutsu circled facing Bhairav, his feet crushing the blood-soaked battle field. It was a moment filled with a pregnant pause and a promise of victory or valiant defeat—both leading to the inevitable phenomenon of death.
With a burst of strength, Bhairav plunged forward. He swung his sword in a semi-circular arc, aiming for Yuyutsu’s neck. Yuyutsu stepped sideways, countered by whipping his blade at Bhairav’s bare torso. Bhairav growled as the attempt scratched his shoulder, smidgens of blood pouring. It was a minor injury, but appeared irksome even to Yuyutsu.
The sun glided towards west, casting long shadows on Kurukshetra’s soil. Both swords danced against each other, each anticipating fluid attacks for the other. Sensing a momentary distraction, Bhairav utilised it and aimed for Yuyutsu’s heart. Yuyutsu glanced at the flowing arc and twisted his body, missing the attack by an inch. As Bhairav flouted his weapon towards his neck again, Dhritarashtra’s son kneeled down and rapidly smashed his strike on Bhairav’s right foot.
Bhairav groaned like a child who got slapped. He staggered backwards, trying to balance with his injured foot. Yuyutsu assaulted his opponent with a horizontal blow in the chest. Bhairav desparately defended, but it was no use. He disbalanced and fell to his knees. Yuyutsu grabbed his shoulder and stroke a final blow towards Bhairav’s heart.
The sun cast a golden hue towards Yuyutsu, as Bhairav’s life ebbed away in Kurukshetra’s dust. Yuyutsu stepped away, as the sun etched closest towards horizon. Walking towards the Pandava chariots, he stopped and looked back. Duryodhana looked at him with infuriation as Bheeshma blowed the conch shell.
As the armies retreated and Yuyutsu walked towards their camp, he felt a hand on his shoulder. Dwarkadheesh Krishna stood beside him, his eyes twinkled and his face was lit by a serene smile. Yuyutsu tried to greet him fervently but failed.
“O valiant son of Dhritarashtra! Do you know the story of Vibhishan, brother of Ravana, the King of Lanka?” Yuyutsu frowned slightly, tracing his memory, but came emptyhanded.
“I’m afraid, no, Dwarkadheesh.”
“When Rama set foot in Lanka, to rescue Sita who was abducted coercively by Ravana, the Rakshasa king’s entire kin sided by him.”
Yuyutsu blinked as he stared at Krishna. He had heard of mighty tale of Rama of Ayodhya. After all, in this land today, who hadn’t? He lightly nodded his once at the enigmatic Krishna, his nightly complexion glowing despite lack of illuminating lights around.
“A man of noble heart, a cheeranjivi, a sage who saw past his brother’s unrighteous ways. Stuck in a moral dilemma to choose family or dharma, Vibhishan saw through the unjust ways of his brother. He walked from the veil of darkness of his side, towards a different dawn. He walked towards the path of Rama, the path of virtue.
Such is the nature of Dharma, Yuyutsu. It often lies in path that diverges from the familiar one. Like Vibhishan who found truth through toils of being labelled as a betrayer and back-stabber. It is in such choices, we find the ones who are truly courageous.”
At that moment, in Yuyutsu’s conscience, Dwarkadheesh became Shri Krishna. His mouth twitched in a smile as he saw Shri Krishna walking away. His mind glided back to his mother’s lullaby. He closed his eyes and remembered her words,
Rest now, my dear, where the star weave tales of old
For in the embrace of Dharma, your heart finds its gold.
If there was one thing Yuyutsu was brilliant at, it was never looking back and feeling remorse. Be it small choices made during his childhood, or life-changing choices made recently. His wisdom patted his back once again that day. He walked towards his camp as his chest swelled in pride for himself.

I have an unpopular christian opinion but idk if it’s really that unpopular but here it goes - fundamental christians aren’t christ like and I suspect many don’t really have a solid relationship with god. I’m from USA and when I say fundie I mean the Duggar types. If anyone isn’t familiar with duggars, they are a very strict family of christians but usually these types of families like to ignore actual issues in the family for the sake of appearances. In this case, it was sexual abuse by the older brother towards his own sisters. The oldest brother was caught by the fbi for having one of, if not, the WORST child p0rn ever produced on his laptop. Even the investigators were so disturbed by it they needed a break. The brother felt no remorse and expected forgiveness despite being a literal pedophile. He was sentenced and jailed, and yet I’ve seen radical christians online (like that Lori Alexander for example)call for his release and lessen his crimes as being “foolish” but “Christ forgives all” but will continue to say how children need to be protected. but I guess when the predator is one of their own, they want to ignore that. His own wife is standing by him despite having children… to forgo your own children’s safety for the sake of keeping a rotten marriage to a pedophile that got pleasure from seeing babies be tortured is not christ-like or even biblical. What the fuck is wrong with them
I've said it and I'll say it again : US Christians are the weakest link of the body of Christ.
It's crazy how worldwide Christiandom will collectively agree on things (such as refusing violence) but somehow US evangelicals act like snowflakes that can't be reasoned while pretending they are the ones to get it right.
I've watched countless of videos/testimony of Christians across the world. Sometimes, they came from places where Christianity was illegal. They had to deal with the most awful treatment, and sometimes torture or death. And what always struck is that while they NEVER retaliated with violence (because they were authentically saved) crazy/supernatural things happened to them to protect them from their oppressor.
I'm thinking about that new convert from middle east that was sequestered & chained by his own father, and when his father decided to finally kill him there's been a blinding light, his chains were gone and he could escape (it reminded me of Paul & Silas in prison).
Or that (indian or Pakistani) new convert girl who was arrested with her (illegal) church by the Islamic authorities, they killed a bunch of them (martyrs) and that she heard an angel tell her how to escape.
Or that Nigerian man screaming "the blood of Jesus" while being hunted by militias with guns, that managed to escape thanks to some divine intervention.
Or a woman in Africa who was being sexually assaulted and by the testimony one of the men who tried to assault her (and later repented), her dress turned "metal like"(???) and they were unable to undress her, saving her from rape.
And I heard of countless of stories like that..
BECAUSE God PROTECTS His children.
And if God decides to let you die by the hand of the unrighteous that's ALSO His will and we have to humbly accept it. A question that so many pro gun/pro violent retaliation Christians NEVER managed to answer is : Stephen and John the Baptist died as martyr without defending themselves. Countless of Christians of the early church died at the hand of roman authorities oppressing/torturing/killing them for their faith. They still didn't violently resist. WHAT MAKES YOU BELIEVE YOU'RE SPECIAL AND THAT *YOU* SHOULD DEFEND YOURSELF? It's always cricket after that.
Or their hypocrisy of seething against this fallen world while being willing to disobey God to keep.... living down there?? Real Christian grasp that death is actually a deliverance. Why do you think Paul longed for death?
I think that's what so many USAmericans have such a hard time to understand : they come from such a barbaric dominative culture that constantly overpowered others with its violence they cannot accept the vulnerability that Christianity encompasses.
Yes, we may die by the sword of our ennemies. That's what God expects from us. Trying to argue over it shows that not only they do NOT understand the message of Christ, but also that they are not as fearful of God as they pretend because you do NOT argue the orders of someone you fear.

parley, by cafecliche (reread)
“Hmph,” Jiang Cheng says, when Wei Wuxian is finally finished. “Here I thought you already took your bows on some dusty mountaintop.”
Wei Wuxian laughs halfheartedly. “It was more of a hill.”
“Whatever its height,” Jiang Cheng says, louder, “why am I expected to attend a wedding for two people who’ve already been wed?”
(Or: two times Jiang Cheng unintentionally saved the Wangxian wedding, and one time he meant it.)
Sect Leader Yao Has Died, by JiangChengLotus
“Sect Leader Yao was a great man-”
Lan Wangji snorted out loud.
All heads turned to him, horrified, and Jiang Cheng wheezed, tears coming to his eyes as he laughed at everyone else’s expressions. He could hardly care about his reputation at that moment.
Lan Sizhui and Jin Ling looked mortified, but they too were struggling to hold in their laughter. Ouyang Zizhen had to furiously bite his lip and avoid his father’s watchful gaze. Lan Jingyi was struggling the most.
Wei Wuxian and Nie Huaisang were covering their mouths with the back of a sleeve and fan, respectively. Lan Xichen was sighing, but his eyes were twinkling.
“My apologies for my husband and my brother.” Lan Xichen explained to the crowd in a neutral voice. “They are still processing this terrible loss."

It processes slowly. The hint of gentleness in that tone, the slight hesitation. The dozens of other messages hidden in his name that, had he not known Lan Zhan down to his core, he would have missed.
His fear melts away. Even in the most vivid of illusions, he could not so perfectly emulate the sound of Lan Zhan’s voice. He’s here. He’s here.

but I figured it out, then made my way back, by MichelleFeather (7 chapters)
It was an extreme, a desperate decision fueled by anger towards the entire cultivation world, a grief deeper than the deepest trenches in the ocean. The realization that Lan Wangji would now have to continue on living a second time without his beloved, where Wei Wuxian had died once again. Where, once more, his love had been taken from him by cruel, unrighteous men who thought they knew better, that they were doing the world a justice.
Lan Qiren had seen the state that his nephew had been in after Wei Wuxian’s first death, what Lan Wangji had done in his grief then, and he feared what Lan Wangji would do to himself if he was left alone with this repeated grief.

When Wei Wuxian was expelled from the Yunmeng Jiang Sect, Jiang Yanli rushed to the Burial Mounds.
Nie Huaisang is content to be the useless second child his entire life. But for all his willful ignorance and indulgent cowardice, he worried for his brother. He then decided to visit an old friend.
Lan Wangji struggled using his words. But he yearned. He learned.
Wen Qing and Wei Wuxian encountered a series of strange curses in Yiling.

every world, every universe, by glitteringmoonlight
It is well-known that the resources offered by the great clans simply cannot be matched by smaller sects. The greater clans have the most renowned techniques and the best teachers. They have built their reputations over centuries, striving to be the best of the best. It is these clans that most young cultivators aspire to join, and so, they have their pick of recruits and are free to pick the best of the best. To anyone in the cultivation world, it is unquestionable that the great clans reign supreme.
It is, thus, quite understandable that even Wen Ruohan— a man largely known for being arrogant and unflappable— looks surprised at the announcement that the first place in the archery tournament has been won by the Head Disciple of the Tingshan He sect.
Or, Wei Wuxian is raised in Tingshan He. Some things change. Some do not.
Time Does Not Pass, It Continues, by Maze_VK
Chief Cultivator Wei Wuixan's favourite set of juniors (don't let anyone know, he isn't supposed to have favourites) are missing, and it is his duty to bring them home.
If he ends up creating an alternate universe where most persons remain untainted by the actions of others? Well, that's just a pleasant side-effect.

What happen if Lan Wangji decided to actually check Qiongqi Path after Wei Wuxian leave?
....
It leads to a domino effect towards a new Chief Cultivator
Is it a better?
Or worse?
Jaded, by Anonymous
When Lan Xichen asked the newly acknowledged Jin Guangyao to become sworn brothers with him and Mingjue, he thought the latter would jump at the chance. He himself was excited at the prospect of fostering better relationships between their respective clans and hopefully reconciling his two friends.
But in order to become sworn brothers, the three must take an oath to never harm each other in any way. And though the latter readily agrees, Lan Xichen had noticed his brief hesitation and the damage is already done.
The cultivation world is left reeling as the Lan Sect Leader gradually realizes that he has been a little too blind, and takes actions that will change the future as we know it.

The Kushans were descended from the Yuezhi, a Tocharian-speaking (Indo-European) people originating from today's Xinjiang (Eastern Turkestan) region, who were pushed southwards by the invading Hunnic-Turkic tribes, thereby migrating to Afghanistan and Pakistan regions during the middle of 1st century AD where the Sakas (Scythians) and Parthians dominated/ruled. As the new rulers, the Kushans were able to successfully create a vast and prosperous empire, which at its peak stretched from Central Asia to northwest India, with the capital mostly in Purushapura (Peshawar).
Gandharan Civilization blossomed under the Kushans, with great progress made in the arts, architecture, and sciences. The Kushan Empire's economy greatly benefited from trade since it was in the middle of the Silk Route. Their acceptance and tolerance of many different religions and ethnic groups within their empire welcomed the fusion of diverse ideas/traditions, such as the creation of Greco-Buddhist art styles. Even though the Kushan rulers were culturally and religiously mostly Iranian, many other religions were also patronized or embraced. For example, the famous Kushan king, Kanishka, adopted Buddhism.
The Kushan religious pantheon is extremely varied, as revealed by their coins, on which about 30 different gods appear, belonging to the Hellenistic, the Iranian, and to a lesser extent the Indic world. Bactrian, an Iranian language and the official language of their empire, was mostly used but written in the Greek script.
Representation of entities from Greek mythology and Hellenistic syncretism on coinage are: Helios, Hephaistos, Selene, Anemos, Heracles, and Sarapis. The Indic entities represented on coinage include: Buddha, bodhisattava Maitreya, Mahasena, Skanda Kumara, Shakyamuni Buddha. The Iranian entities depicted on coinage include: Ashi Vanghuhi, Asha Vahishta, Atar, Khwarenah, Drvaspa, Vohu Manah, Mah, Mithra, Mazda vana, Aredvi Sura Anahita, Vata, Oxus, Ahura Mazda, Tir. Additionally: "Oesho" was long considered to represent the Indic Shiva, but more recently identified as Avestan Vayu.
The following are a few examples of Kushan coins with the ruler/king on one side and the god/deity on the other side:
