Isn't it pretty ironic the girl luring Nene into her death by using a certain method is the one to tell Nene her death would come along with certain method succeeding till the very end?
I do wonder then, if this girl is so full of herself on her take on things, since Nene is fated with death, that comes from having all the yorishiros destroyed, which in return is exactly what she needs to have her wish coming true, meaning her wish is fated to come true, eventually. Yet, she can't stay patiently lately. Haha.
Indeed, they are a mismatched pair. Their wishes are a sharp contrast.
I want to get my wish to live come true, therefore I don't want to destroy any other yorishiro X I want to get my wish come true, therefore I need to have all 7 yorishiros destroyed.
Pretty interesting.
"We're in the same rare position." In a sense, being 2? kannagi girls connected to the same thing/s, that's right.

NEXT CHAPTER | SERIES MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
He can hear it when he sleeps.
Their screams.
The constant ring of agony that chimes out like a bell, an alarm he never set for himself. A joke once told to him in the midst of World War II, as bullets flew by him and soldiers lost their lives each second of each day. There's no escape from hell. No running from the devil that nipped at his heels the faster he went, the longer he tried to navigate a way free.
There's no escape from the memories that ate away in his mind. Multitudes of them, of the faces he once called family, the people he used to love. They were his punishment. The boulder he continued to roll up the hill, day after day after day. Until eventually...he was crushed by his own self-hatred.
"Logan." The voice whispered long enough for him to grasp who it might be, yet never louder than a mere breath of air.
He clung to it some days. Sunk his claws into what little of his past remained good and allowed it to fill him with some amount of peace. At least then he'd be able to bear this weight, this grief he could never quite name.
Something light brushed across his cheek. Tickling the skin enough to send a flare of irritation down his spine, but the dreams held him in their grasp. What came next never surprised him. He expected it at this point—longed for it. The distant pain of losing what once made him whole; the entirety of his life now defined by one single moment he could never change.
"He sleeps so sweetly. I just want to curl up in his arms and have him read me bedtime stories."
"He's not gonna like that when he wakes up."
"Zip it Al. If I wanted an opinion, I'd go see a Hollywood therapist."
A scoff echoed in the background. "No therapist wants you on their couch."
"Not true. I hear Ryan Reynolds has a great one."
"Who?"
"Not the point." The feather dusted across Logan's face again, soft enough to keep him asleep yet annoying enough to bring a smile to Wade's face. "I wonder if he's dreaming about killing bad guys. They say it's good for the soul."
"Who the fuck is they?"
Wade laughed. "Oh you know. Them. The readers. And boy howdy do they love their blood."
Every day he was forced to listen to Wade's voice became another day Logan dragged his claw through a tally mark of his sanity. "Do you ever shut the fuck up," he growled, gripping Wade's wrist until he heard the satisfying crack of bones.
"Only when I swallow."
"I'll tear your fuckin' arm off."
The smile on Wade’s face only added another tally. "Nice kitty. No need for the claws."
Anger washed across his skin in a familiar wave as he released Wade's arm, watching it go limp. Trying to kill the unkillable walking irritation was like trying to swat a fly that never quite died. It still buzzed incessantly. Until eventually madness was the only viable option of dealing with it. In his case, he seemed to be driving head on with no brakes.
Logan wasn't sure he possessed enough sanity left within him to keep dealing with this. Sleeping on the couch didn't help the way his body never rested; always stuck in that permanent fighting mode. He'd give anything to find some peace. A small sliver of it carved off the past that continued to call him—that begged him to come back and try again.
Swinging his legs off the couch, he planted a swift kick to Wade's chest that sent him across the floor. The lack of caffeine in his system left everything hazy and half coherent. If he focused he might have caught the keys thrown at him, but being exhausted and sober didn't make for a good combination with him. An empty whiskey bottle lay discarded on the floor from last night; the memories of how he passed out barely tinged on the edge of his mind.
He could recall stabbing Wade in the leg.
Nothing beyond that.
Dried blood—now an ugly brown—stained his white shirt. He nearly stripped himself of it, prepared to throw it in with whoever was washing next, but his flannel being chucked at his head caught him off guard.
"Fuck off," he snapped, stumbling to the kitchen.
Wade sighed, following him. "Get dressed, peanut. We have to go do human things today."
"Human–”
"Food," Al retorted. "We're out."
Even in a new universe, he couldn't see himself acting normal. For so long he did what had to in order to survive. Yet now...he wasn't so sure. Accompanying Wade Wilson in order to complete household chores left a bad taste in his mouth. But the thought of fresh coffee and an unopened bottle of whiskey sounded like sweet silver bells in his head.
With reluctance, he buttoned up half of the flannel before he became annoyed with the small size of the holes punched into the fabric. There was only so much he could do with the life he had now. And sometimes shit really sucked.
"Don't scratch my fucking car," Al pointed her words towards Wade, thankfully ignoring Logan's existence for a brief moment.
"Is it safe for her to own a car?"
The door shut behind him with a bang, echoing down the vacant hallway. He was surprised people actually lived here given Wade's antics. They could hear the loud mouthed fucker across the street—if the angry notes in the mail were anything to go by. He didn't bother asking if he should be concerned with any of it. Not when he had no say in how the house was run. And choosing to insert himself where he wasn’t needed, rarely went well for him.
"God no. But I give her the benefit of the doubt. She hasn't killed anyone. Yet."
He yanked the keys out of Wade's hand. "Yeah well I don't trust you either Bub."
The car didn't leave room for his legs as he squeezed into the driver's side. His body practically folded in half as he turned it over—the rumble of the engine rattling against metal. How Blind Al managed to pay for this vehicle went beyond even Wade's knowledge, and in all honesty…he was too fucking scared to ask.
Too much seemed to be happening for him to ever catch up. While this Earth felt similar to his, small things were different. And when they began to add up...he began to wonder if he was drowning.
"Turn left to merge onto the asscrack of traffic."
He barely heard the directions as he drove, his mind drifting the further they went. Part of him sensed the grief from earlier begin to claw up the back of his throat. It begged him to fall, to be swallowed whole by the darkness he'd been stuck in before. And he nearly gave in; could feel his body shift into its constant mode of fight or flight.
The steering wheel cracked under his white knuckled grip as Wade's voice became an afterthought to the war he fought in his mind. Terror trapped itself in his throat and he slammed his foot on the brakes a foot away from a parking spot in retaliation. The car lurched forward, his claws descended. A snarl rumbled in his chest the longer he sat there thinking.
"Woah..." For the first time in days, Wade fell silent. "You alright?"
Logan ripped himself free, shoving his body out of the car before he even threw it in park. He gulped in breath after breath and did his best to wait for this fucking feeling to leave his system. The nightmares only came as he slept. A constant familiar horror show after two centuries.
Yet now he was left like this. Leaned up against a car, his eyes closed shut, and heart racing.
All because he couldn't do his fucking job.
"Logan–"
He snapped, shoving past Wade and his pity that choked him with a vengeance. He didn't deserve anyone's pity. He didn't want it. But people couldn't help but hand it over unconsciously. As if they could see the layers of broken pieces beneath his false expression of strength. Logan never pretended to be okay. Why bother with something people could see right through?
He merely wanted others to ignore he was there. Walk past him, look through him, do whatever it took to pretend that him and all his tragedies weren't standing before them. Because one day he would die and fuck how he couldn't wait for that time to come.
A small hole in the wall dive bar sat in the corner of the shopping center. He barely caught sight of it. But the unmistakable scent of alcohol poured out the door as someone stumbled out—their eyes squeezed shut against the harsh brightness of the sun. He could understand them in a way.
His world didn't have sunlight this bright. Or perhaps he never noticed it ‘til now.
Maybe his body wasn't acclimated yet; unsure of what the fuck was still happening. Everything seemed to be turned up to eleven for him, yet no off switch existed.
The dark hazy glow of the interior sent a wave of calm through him as the door swung shut with a soft thud. Four people sat scattered around the place and a bartender with white and graying hair stood cleaning a glass so foggy it was probably better to throw it out. He found himself letting out a breath that'd been trapped in his chest since that morning. Finally some peace before he had to listen to Wade yap about bullshit he didn't in fact give a shit about.
"What'll you have?" the old man asked, his face screwing up in a wince as he limped towards Logan's spot at the end of the bar.
A quick glance down let him see the brace wrapped around the man's knee. "Whiskey on the rocks."
He nodded, slowly heading towards the center of the wall—a lonesome half empty bottle of Jack Daniels on the counter. Logan shifted, taking the center seat directly behind the man.
"I can't say I've seen you around before son."
He grinned, his finger tracing a random carving that'd been placed in the wood. "I just moved here. Living with a coworker."
"Coworker huh?"
The word didn't sound right to Logan, but he couldn't exactly call Wade his friend. Although they were more than people who fought together, more than men who shared blood during the same battle. That was the thing about Logan though. He'd never be able to put a label on something like that. To him...things weren't one or the other as much as he wanted to pretend they were. There was nuance to his life.
Complications which made living that much harder.
The man turned, surprised to see Logan so close, but didn't make note of it. Logan could see the gratitude in the way his drink was slid carefully to him. The small silent thank you in the bowl of pretzels placed beside it.
"You look lost."
Logan grunted, biting into the salty and dry snack. "Do I?"
"More than some of the others that come around here."
"And who comes around here?"
The man laughed. "No one as of late. You're the first young man I've seen in a while walk through those doors."
He bit back his laugh at the word young. The stories he could tell would leave the man baffled. About wars that no living person had witnessed. About when the world was far different than today—when mutants were freaks of nature and humans were far less forgiving. He could list it all and then some.
But whether or not someone would listen was another thing entirely.
"This place that old?" he inquired, sipping on the amber liquid with a contented sigh.
"Oh you bet." A weary laugh filled the space. "I bought this place in the sixties. When my wife was still my girlfriend. She almost left me because of it."
Logan huffed, his lips curling slightly. "She wasn't a fan?"
The man shook his head, tossing a cloth over his shoulder. "Still isn't. Well she...wasn't." He pressed his thumb to the worn gold band on his left hand. "When she was alive she used to host a book night. Helped bring in the men's wives. Kept them outta trouble."
"Book night huh?"
"She loved to read."
Before he could down the final sips of his drink it was topped off. Logan nodded his head in thanks, his thumb digging into the thumbprint shape of the glass. If he thought about it hard enough, he could almost see himself coming here every night. He pictured a life far different than his own, a past where he might have been happy. With someone who might have even made him smile.
"I'm not much of a reader," he replied, his voice hoarse and eyes fixed on the ice that floated to the surface.
"Ah me too," the man laughed. "I just liked seeing her smile."
A soft remark was on the tip of his tongue before an entirely new image began to take shape. The face of someone lost. Of a smile he'd known better than his own. Hands that once held his face with the tenderness of a lover—a voice that sent the hair rising on the back of his neck. He could see it as clear as he did the man.
You in all your beauty. Lost to a past he could no longer rectify.
He swallowed thickly, beating back every emotion that crawled under his skin. "What's your name?"
"Travis."
Raising his glass, he tipped it towards the man with a tight grin. "Logan." The alcohol went down with a quick and biting burn. A feeling he'd grown familiar with. One he counted on.
"Nice to meet you Logan."
"Yeah you too."
He dug out some cash and tossed it on the bar as he stood with a slight grunt. He may heal quickly but the ache in his bones still existed. As if something resisted against how his body moved with each slow shift.
Fighting meant he could ignore it.
Existing is what made it worse.
The sun practically burned his eyes when he stepped out, the heat of the day encompassing his whole body quicker than he would have liked. For some unknown fucking reason, summer here felt worse than on his Earth. Then again the alcohol didn't help. He stood in the shade of the building next to the bar, searching the parking lot for any sign of Wade.
Going into the store wasn't an option and as much as he wanted to leave the annoyance behind, he didn't want to feel like a piece of shit. That is...even more than he already did.
"Fuck," he hissed, leaning against the brick wall. "You've got to be fucking kidding me."
One option would be taking a walk to work off the energy that ran through his veins. At least then he'd be able to sleep at night. And the temptation almost worked. If it weren't for the shop doors that opened to his left, effectively distracting him from the chance of leaving. He could have ignored the person, probably should have given everything he'd been through.
But then his heart dropped to his stomach as you walked out. He'd never seen you in such a soft sundress before, the off white fabric draped off your curves in a way that floored him. As if you were an angel floating by without a care in the world. You were busy shoving a small piece of paper in your purse, your face furrowed in frustration, and Logan smiled. Because he'd traced each line of that face before, he'd kissed those cheeks, your eyelids as you slept.
He'd loved you in ways that would scare a normal human.
And there you were.
"Honey?" he called, unconsciously following you quicker than he intended to. "Honey."
You glanced to the side, completely unaware of the giant lumbering man trailing after you with a soft look on his face and hope in his hands.
That alone tore him in two more than the memories from before.
"Baby, it's me."
The breeze finally went through the air, pushing the skirt of your dress a bit higher on your thighs. Except that's not what he latched onto. Your scent was different. Unlike any he'd encountered before. Honey still sweetly caressed his senses, but flowers overlayed that—peonies if he guessed. Delicious enough to have his mouth watering; his body already aching for you to be closer. To look at him in the way you used to.
He wanted to call out to you—gain your attention properly—but your name wouldn't leave his tongue. Because you were there and you finally caught sight of him and you were looking at him as if nothing bad ever happened between the two of you.
You saw him as a man.
Not a disappointment.
He willed himself to stop and breathe. Take in his surroundings; realize that you weren't who he once knew. You weren't even the same fucking person.
But before he could think straight, he'd already followed you halfway to your car. His eyes were dazed, heart nearly throttling him alive as he stood there dumbly. Waiting for you to finally speak.
"Oh..." Your heart rate spiked quicker than he expected. He couldn't find it in himself to feel bad though. "Hello?"
"Honey," he sighed, the weight on his shoulders lifting ever so slightly.
He caught the way your fingers tightened around your keys, the defense mechanism an instinct by now. And Logan realized what he looked like. A strange man standing too close for your liking. So he took a step back and gave you some space. In the hopes that you wouldn't see him as a threat. That maybe...you'd listen to what he had to say.
"Can I help you?" you asked, eyes darting around the parking lot in case you needed help.
What he wouldn't give for the opportunity to reassure you. To explain that he wasn't here to hurt you. That he'd kill himself before even laying a hand on you. Yet the correct words were lost and all he seemed to get out was an incoherent babble that had him wanting to dig his own claws into his chest.
"You smell different."
You straightened your spine, eyes narrowed into a glare he felt burn across his skin. "Look, I don't know who you are. But fuck off."
Something akin to pride flared in his chest at your tone, your words. But he couldn't show it externally. How would he explain that your fight—your fire—is what drew him to you in the first place? How could he tell you about a version of yourself you'd never know? A person he thought would be with him until his last breath exhaled into the world.
"I'm not here to hurt you." He raised his hands in an attempt to prove his point, but like your variant counterpart you were willing to bite first and ask questions later.
"Yeah. Sure asshole." The shopping bag in your other hand was lifted up, until you had a tighter grip on it in case something happened. You didn't know him. You probably never would.
But Logan had to try. He owed it to you to give it all he had this time around.
Otherwise...what was the point of living?
"My name's–" He made the wrong move stepping forward and knew it the second his boot hit the gravel. With a wince, he watched you stumble back against your car, your arm coming up to protect yourself. "No. Look I'm not gonna do anything–"
"Get the fuck away from me," you spit.
He moved back as if approaching a wounded animal—his body finally on edge in a new way. The fact that you didn't know him wasn't what broke off another chunk of his heart. He could handle that. He'd been through that.
You were afraid of him.
That realization dug in too deep for his body to heal.
That...he couldn't live with.
"WOAH hey!" He'd never appreciated Wade's irritating ass more than in this moment. He jumped between the two of you, the cart of groceries forgotten as he blocked Logan from your sight. "Step away from the nice lady wolf boy." Wade regarded you with a smile. "Hi! Sorry. This is my uncle and well as you can probably tell he's lost eight of his lives. So we're going on little old nine. And well the mind just goes to shit first."
Seconds passed by like minutes and Logan watched you visibly deflate. "Wade," you greeted him, visibly calmer than before. Logan felt his stomach twist violently at the thought. "It's good to see you. How's the job?"
"Oh yup you know. Left that. But I'm really pushing through. I've got an Etsy store where I sell miniature paintings of Michael Angelo's David's penis. So there's that."
Your laughter sent a hole through his chest and Logan bit back the growl that rose up the back of his throat. What the fuck was Wade doing making friends with you? Why were you laughing at his humor?
He couldn't count how many days he'd spent longing to hear your laugh again, the shine in your eyes that always came around when joy flooded your bloodstream. He could smell the honey off your skin, the warmth of what no doubt lay beneath your thin dress. And he wanted to rip Wade to pieces knowing that he was the one making it happen. That you were comfortable with a man who's mouth ran at a mile a minute.
"Did your sister have the baby yet?"
You brightened and Logan felt his heart stutter. "She did! A boy."
"Named Wade I hope."
Another peal of laughter had Logan's claws itching to descend as you ignored he was there. "Theo actually. A cutie."
"Aww." Wade moved closer, head bent to see the small polaroid you pulled out of your wallet. "Wow, he looks like you'd find him in a Gerber's advertisement."
Your eyes drifted up, past Wade's shoulder, until you finally caught Logan's gaze. And he felt like he could breathe. Every ounce of fear was wiped from your face; interest now creeping in as you dragged your eyes down his form. Past the slight peek of chest hair and down to how his jeans hugged his hips. Logan stood taller for your benefit, as if he needed to make a good impression.
He wanted to linger in your mind for days. Until the curiosity ate you alive.
"We're gonna go," Wade announced, after grabbing your bag and placing it in your trunk for you. "Someone has to feed the blind woman in my apartment. She tends to root through everything looking for food." He gripped Logan's arm, shoving him back a good few feet. Even as your eyes still remained glued to his face. "Glad to see the Hyundai is still working. You know you could take the fattest fucking nap in the back of that puppy. Makes you feel like an Egyptian mummy."
"Bye," you said, a dazed look in your eyes as Logan smiled in your direction. At ease with the knowledge that even in a different universe, he could still fluster you with a look.
Dragging himself away from you was hell, but Wade's grip remained unbreakable as they clambered to the car. The groceries stacked in the small backseat.
He could glimpse you driving off and suddenly the nightmare from earlier was the last thing on his mind.
Tumblr media
Wade's back hit the wall with a crack before the door could shut properly. The groceries in their hands toppled to the floor. He barely had time to duck before Logan's claws were aiming for his head—a snarl ripping from his throat.
"What the fuck?" Wade shouted, grabbing the paper bag and gently setting it on the table. "Next time just say you need to stay home and find some joy in an empty room and your hand."
"How do you know her?"
Wade smiled, assessing the furious state of chaos Logan was now left in. The tatters of his stability falling to the floor around him. For as much as he held himself together, it certainly remained easy enough to tear him a part.
"Got an eye on someone, do we honey badger?"
Logan grimaced, running a hand down his face. "Would you just fucking tell me?"
"Let me bask in this Logan. I'm about to watch a romcom come to life and need some popcorn." He rummaged through the bag, yanking out some chips. "Salty and sweet. That'll do."
"Wade," he bit out.
"Stick with us girls, we're about to get to the good stuff."
"WADE!"
He tossed the bag to the table, eyeing the way Logan never quite settled. "I'm gonna take a guess and say we know her more than just friendly hellos."
Logan couldn't answer because his grief did it for him. He did what he could to catch his breath, to stop seeing his version of you. The disappointment on your face, the pain in your voice. You'd been so angry with him. To watch the person he loved be reduced to a screaming crying mess wasn't something he wanted to relive, but Wade's question seemed to send an avalanche toppling to the ground.
"She's..." He sucked in a breath. "On my world. I...knew her."
"Knew her? Or knew her."
He reached for the bottle of whiskey Wade threw in with the rest of the groceries and popped it open before he spoke again. "It didn't end well between us. None of it did."
Wade fell silent and Logan found himself loathing the quiet more than the sound of his voice. If he was joking Logan could ignore it. He could pretend nothing happened. That you weren't here, you couldn't be hurt by him again.
You were safe from his destructive tendencies as long as you were in another universe.
"She lives across the street." Logan's head rose and whipped to see the window that faced the building across from them. "The old uncultured shit whistles that keep complaining about WHAM! the greatest thing to happen to music. They're her neighbors. Live right next door."
"Neighbors."
Wade nodded, offering him a chip. "She found their note and angel that she is, she very sweetly threatened to get them evicted. I offered to let her borrow my katanas but was rejected like younger me on prom night. You've really got yourself a catch there buddy."
Logan didn't need Wade to tell him how fucking lucky he was. He knew that the second you walked out of that store. You were everything good in his life at one point, everything he couldn't save. There wasn't much keeping him going on his old Earth, but having you made all the suffering he went through—all the pain he endured—worth it.
If you were waiting for him at the end, he'd do it all over again.
"So you want to take a dip in that honey huh? Taste that rainbow?"
His claws would have sunk into Wade's throat if a knock hadn't sounded at the door. With a huff, he stepped into the kitchen, the bottle clutched tightly in his hand. Whoever decided to give Wade some luck was of no concern to him.
Or so he believed.
"I didn't mean to accidentally take your groceries," you laughed, handing over a overpacked paper bag.
Stuffing the bottle under the sink, he met you halfway to the living room, his eyes drinking in the sight of you still in that dress. Still delicate enough for him to rip if he tugged it right. Heat curled along the base of his spine when your eyes met his, wide and glimmering with your laughter. He felt himself crumple at the sight of your lips parting, the surprise at his size still enough to make you speechless.
"Good to see you again," he greeted you, voice low and soft.
You didn't mean to grow flustered in his presence, but something about the way his gaze devoured you within seconds left you breathless. The swooping sensation in your stomach became too much to handle. Desire and attraction weren't unknown concepts to you. But this felt like more. You could sense him right down to your bones and it scared the shit out of you.
"Oh right!" Wade scooched past you to swing an arm around Logan's shoulders. He did what he could to not stab him in the stomach. "This is Logan. My hunky new roommate."
Logan groaned. "Alright–"
"No, no it's good. You remember when I was declared basically the savior of the universe?"
Your face screwed up in confusion. Logan had never wanted to kiss someone more.
"Marvel...Jesus right?"
"I prefer MJ. Since I've got a Peter." Wade's head whipped to the side. "Suck it Tom Holland." His grip on Logan tightened. "This walking People's Sexiest Magazine helped. We're talking big claws, abs you just want to lick whipped cream off of–"
Logan's elbow slammed into Wade's stomach—crimson slowly tinting the tips of his ears. "That's enough."
"AND the Wolverine."
Surprised etched itself onto your face even further. Until you finally regarded Logan with a look he'd seen once before. Awe. When you first met one another in the halls of the mansion, you stared at him that exact way. As if you couldn't quite believe that iconic figure the X-Men made him out to be actually existed.
He couldn't tell if he liked it. Or if he'd rather you view him as a stranger.
"Logan," he said, offering his hand to you politely. Your skin remained as soft as he remembered.
Warmth bloomed in your body at the feeling of his calloused palm overwhelming yours, the scars across his knuckles old and ancient. Yet you found yourself wanting to trace them over and over, until the sight of them seared in your mind. You fought the urge to press your lips to them, etch your own mark into his skin. Something told you he wouldn’t mind.
Logan could see the intrigue on your face—the distracted gaze he wanted to keep in place. You were still curious. Still willing to learn about him. To pick him a part with soft words and even softer touches.
"Logan," you murmured under your breath, your eyes catching his. He felt his stomach leap at the sound of your voice whispering his name. Memories flooding his mind quicker than he expected. Of mornings spent in bed, your skin pressed against his. Of nights alone in his cabin—your stories lulling him to sleep.
Everything he willed himself to forget, yet could never truly let go of.
"I've got to head back." Disappointment filled your heart at the thought of not getting a chance to talk to him more. He had yet to let go of your hand and you found you liked his touch on your skin. "I'll see you soon Wade."
"Logan will be more than happy to walk you back," Wade replied, waving drastically behind your back. "Can't have you getting hurt now can we? Right peanut?"
You smiled. "I'm just across the street."
"I don't mind," Logan cut in, glaring at Wade to shut the fuck up.
"Okay," your voice was soft. Happy.
Logan would have done anything to keep it that way.
The walk back wasn't long enough for him to explain his actions from earlier, but you seemed to be just as smart as your variant self. Shutting the building's door, you turned to him—your dress fluttering in the breeze. Logan choked on his spit at the slight peek of your ass before you pushed the skirt back down around you.
"Did you know me?" You lead him to the corner, waiting for the traffic to die down. "On your Earth."
He paused, his eyebrows pulling together, and for a moment you wondered if you asked the wrong question. Wade told you bits and pieces of what happened since you last saw him, but Logan's background wasn't a discussion you tried to seek out. All you knew was that Wade acquired a new roommate. Not even a name.
Certainly not that he was Wolverine.
"Yes," Logan muttered, glancing at the change in lights.
You started to walk. "In what way?"
His hands curled into fists—echoes of his past rising to the surface. "We were...friends. You're a professor."
"A professor?" you exclaimed, a smile tugging on your lips. "Am I a mutant?"
He nodded. "You're able to bend time. Or control it." He snorted, following your lead towards your building. "I could never understand it. But Charles did."
The walk up to your apartment was silent, your thoughts filled with the new information he'd given you. And no matter how hard you tried to picture it, you couldn't see yourself as a mutant. A powerful being that held the ability to manipulate time who just so happened to be a professor. Somehow even thinking about it made you wonder why Logan was bothering to entertain this version of you. When the better one existed on his Earth.
"You said were."
Stopping at your door, he nearly knocked into you. "Hm?"
"Were friends. What happened?"
The answer he couldn't give you. The words he wouldn't even admit out loud to himself.
He felt his heart twist as if a knife slowly carved through his spleen. "We uh..." He coughed. "You..."
"I don't have to know." Grasping gently onto his arm, you offered a warm smile he felt down to his toes. A look he hadn't seen in quite some time. Logan could picture the last day you were happy in his head. Laughing with Charles in his office as you shared dinner, working on theories of your powers late into the night.
A week before they came.
"It's good to see you like this," he breathed, his hand reaching out to touch your cheek before stopping midair. "Happy."
Your eyebrows knit together. "I wasn't happy?"
"No." What he wouldn't give to take that information back, but it was out in the open, and as always—he remained too late.
"Why?" you asked, your hand sliding down to his much to his delight.
"I made you a promise." He sucked in a breath, his body begging him to start running. You'd be better off if you never knew. If you never remembered him in the first place. "I couldn't keep it."
I'll always keep you safe.
Words he refused to say again.
How could he promise this version of you that? How could he look you in the eyes and lie again? Breaking his Earth's you would haunt him for the rest of his life. He couldn't fathom doing it all over. It would kill him.
Except you weren't the person in his mind. You weren't the mutant who hated him with every fiber of your being. You were you. A continuous surprise that left his heart stuttering in his chest each time you looked his way. An enigma he found himself wanting to unravel.
"Maybe this time around you can," you said softly, letting him go with a smile as you entered your apartment, effectively opening the wound in his heart so wide there was no saving him.
Although he now knew something he didn’t know before.
He didn’t want to be saved.

i need jealous / possessive / protective ghost plssss :)
Only Mine
Tumblr media
Simon watches as a new recruit takes interest in you. Even though you both are married (secretly of course) He still needs to let you know who you belong to.
A/N: omg we LOVE possessive jealous Simon. 🤭 Might write one that doesn’t have smut but listennnn it’s a good.
“Are you really here to cast me off? Or maybe just to turn me on.”
Warnings: jealous!simon, husband!simon, wife!reader, smut, rough sex, semi-public sex, just a little choking, basically a quickie, fluff, squint for the angst, swearing
simon x reader guide
simon x reader smut list
God the way your body started to ache in such a numbing good way, as you gripped the bars of Simon’s bed. You didn’t really expect your day to turn out like this. Simon, your secret husband, dragged you to his room without any explanation. Demanding your pants down and pussy out.
Confused yet totally turned on you did what he said. Now it’s just growls and slapping of skin. You are trying to recall the day, what could have possessed the all might Lieutenant Riley to be so riled up.
The last thing you were doing was teaching a recruit how to clean his gun properly. Nice kid, young possibly just joined that’s how young he looked. He made stupid snide jokes to get you laughing but it didn’t peak your interest. You are used to having all the young recruits flirt with you and stare. Until one day they make sure not to even cross paths with you.
Little did you know Simon fucking Riley would be watching from afar. Narrowing in on any recruit who decided to play that game. Make sure he scratches their name down so he could give them heavy drills. Watching them get more and more tired until the end to come up and whisper to them. “Get near my Sargent again and this will be the easiest thing ya ever have to do.”
However there was one time you knew that he did it to one recruit. You were hounding the little asshole about how he almost killed his group during a mission. Simon was to be in the same room due to having a back up if things got out of hand. Simon not once stepped in as voices got raised.
The recruit scoffed as he was being told that he is off the next assignment. Due to not only his previous act but also how the respect was not there for you. The recruit turned to Simon. “Control your bitch.”
Before you could even say anything Simon stood up. “Drills now.” He said lowly as he walked up to him. The recruit didn’t move for a moment staring at Simon dead in the eye. Simon leaned to his face. “Ya do not get to call your Sargent that. Now go before I make ya.”
The recruit looked over at you, which you had your arms folded. “That was an order private.” You said as he stormed out.
Simon had you come and watch and give the orders out to him. Basically like whipping a wild horse to become domesticated. In which this case the private did, he was one of your favorites to have in the field. Made sure everyone listened close and trusted you with his life.
Simon later on that day made sure that you were never going to be talked to like that again. That the next muppet that does would be thrown against the wall, you did have to remind him that your marriage is hidden. Which meant to be careful when to start throwing people around. However you loved the fact that he was protective like that. Making sure you were respected. Cared for.
Even when it was outside of the base, when the team is off on leave. Only Price truly knew that you both are married. So whenever you went on leave Simon went on leave and vise versa. When one of your little leaves you and Simon went to a bar, have some drinks and go home. When Simon went to the bathroom another man came up to flirt with you.
No matter how hard you would give him the no time of day, he kept going. The man would causally try to touch your hand, even when showing him the small ring on your finger he would say, “I don’t see him here.”
You would just smile as Simon stood behind him. “Hello babe.” You would say. At first the man had a smirk ready to face whatever man he was going to face, to only frown realizing that Simon was much larger in size.
Simon glared down at him his mask only showing his eyes. The eyes of warning towards the man. “Betta get going mate. She is here with me. And me only.”
The man scoffed and rolled his eyes as he left. Simon taking his space, you rubbed his back and whispered to him of how you were his. And how he was yours. Possessive was always on Simon, you loved it. You made sure that he felt the same, you even both agreed that you both had that. Wrong look from anyone Simon would give the death glare. Smile at you. Dead to him. Even look at you wrong. Gone.
You seen everything when he got that way. Him saying something to giving them his death looks…This however. Was something you haven’t seen. Simon’s cocked dragged against your walls at such a high speed that you didn’t know what to do. Your mouth dripping with salvia as you gasped and whined as he hit the spot over and over, releasing your second orgasm. “Havin’ him near ya like that,” Simon growled as he reached for your neck, pulling you up to his chest. “You laughing at his jokes, fuck, you think I wouldn’t see that.”
It finally hit you once he said those words. “Si,” You whimpered as you felt his hand squeeze your neck. “Fuck, you know I only belong to you.” You knew that is what he needed to hear, to let him know that you belong only to him.
Simon chuckled. “Is that so,” He questioned snapping his hips harder into you, slowing his pace as he placed his lips next to your ear. “I want you to scream my name as I fuck my cum so deep in ya, that no fucking man in this base will get near you.”
You moaned as he bite your ear. “Show me and the rest of this fuckin’ base who you belong to.”
He pushed you back down pinning your chest to the bed as he slammed his cock into you once more. You screamed as you clenched around his cock feeling the knot start to form. Simon went back to his brutal pace, tears brimmed your eyes as it felt so good yet the overstimulating was becoming too much. You wanted more as he drove harder and harder. You moaned loudly as he started to grip your hips.
“Fuck Simon.” You mumbled looking behind your shoulder. He still had basically everything on, he tore your clothes off once you laid down on this bed.
“Louder.” He demanded combing through your hair. Not stopping his pace.
The noises that filled his room should be illegal. The tiny bed that squeaked, as the metal bar hitting the wall, skin to skin slapping against one another, the wet sound that came from his cock and your pussy, and the moaning god the moaning.
“Simon.” You said louder a whine coming out. Panting started to become faster. “It feels so fucking good!”
He gripped your hair. “Louder!” Simon growled.
Your orgasm was right there and you knew he was right there too, his hips stuttering as he panted. Your body shook as Simon’s fingers went underneath you to play with you clit. “Yesyesyesyesyesyss! Simon! Oh god!” You yelled as your orgasm hit you hard enough to see stars.
You could feel your cum lathering his cock as he growled lowly. “That’s it doll, let them hear you. You belong to me only. fucking. me.” He grunted as his cum filled your hole.
You collapsed against the mattress as Simon moaned as he leaned into you more. Shoving his cock further up into you. It was quiet for a moment, the sound of your breaths steaming. Simon sighed kissing your back, rubbing your sides. He noticed that he gripped your hips hard enough that he knew it would leave marks. It wasn’t his first time, you told him you loved when he would do it occasionally.
You sighed pushing yourself more into him. “You know that I only belong to you. That no one else can have me.” You whispered, moaning with content.
Simon nodded as he kissed the back of your neck. “I know, just gets me riled up to see men touching you. Especially when you laugh at their jokes.”
You chuckled slowly getting up having him take his cock out. You both hissed for a moment before you laid on your back. He hovered over you as you grabbed his cheeks. “Your jokes are the only ones that are truly funny.”
“Including the goldfish in the tanks?” He asked smirking, knowing damn well you hated that one.
You rolled your eyes. “Yes even that one.” You both stare at each for a moment. You inhaled deeply. “You should get jealous more often, it looks good on you Lieutenant.”
Simon scoffed getting up before pulling his pants and boxers on. “Shut it,” You giggled as he handed you your clothes. “Get dressed I have a private to run drills, you should watch.”
Oh, now how you were going to get him more jealous. You just loved the way your body ached for more than what you just got.

It took everyone in the inner circle to physically stop Azriel from going after you when you left for the day court. After revealing that you already knew Azriel was your mate, Rhysand explained that you asked for some space. Azriel listened in horror as Rhysand detailed what you endured for the past year and a half. He couldn’t believe you bottled up all the pain you felt while you watched him love someone else.
Poor Elain started apologizing for being part of the reason you left and swore nothing ever happened between her and Azriel. Rhysand reassured her that you held no ill will towards her and you left to clear your head but that you would be back in a few months.
Rhysand begged Azriel to give you space while you process your emotions. “Rhys, please. I need to see her. I need to tell her that I know that I am her mate and that I want this mating bond.”
“No,” Rhysand said firmly: “You are also prohibited from traveling to the day court until she lets me know she’s ready”.
Azriel didn’t give up though, he sent out his spies into the day court and they gave him updates on your well-being. Every night they would report the same thing: you were fine, you were safe, and you were still staying with Helion despite your family living nearby. Over time, they would report that you were smiling more and having pleasant conversations with the people around the villages you would visit.
That brought a smile to the spymaster's face. He remembered how kind you were to everyone who crossed your path; even towards people who didn’t deserve your kindness.
One day though, one of Azriel’s spies informed him that there was a new general in the day court who had taken a liking towards you. They informed Azriel that this new general is actively seeking you out and gifting you small presents to win you over.
Panic started to take over Azriel’s body at the news. It never crossed his mind that someone else would try to court you while you were away.
Azriel pleaded with Rhysand to visit the day court so he could see you. He told him what his spies had informed him and he was worried you might accept a courtship. Rhysand wanted to respect your wishes but he couldn’t bear to see his brother's desperate state anymore “ok, ok I’ll contact Helion and request if we can visit. But let me make one thing clear” Rhysand warned “You better hope whatever you have plan works out. I need y/n back home with us”.
Helion accepts Rhysand’s requests and extends an invitation to Rhysand and his inner circle to stay with him.
Azriel was on edge when they finally arrived at the day court and waited for you to come down and greet them. While they waited for you, Helion thanked Rhysand for sending you to him because in his words “you brought so much happiness to him and his people”.
Rhysand responded with “That’s why we love her so much. She’s like our own personal ball of sunshine. I don’t know what we would do without her.”
“You would survive” you teased and caught everyone’s attention “but it’s nice to know I make that much of an impact on you guys”.
Time seemed to stop for Azriel as he watched you make your way downstairs. That was until the unnamed general appeared by your side and whispered something in your ear.
Jealousy surged through Azriel as he watched you playfully roll your eyes and giggle at whatever the general had said. “Control your anger,” Rhysand warned: “Do not jeopardize our alliance with the day court over his comments. Y/n has no interests in the general”.
Right at that moment you looked over at Azriel and sent him a concerning look. You were about to ask if something was wrong when Helion announced that it was time for dinner and guided everyone into the dining area.
Throughout dinner, Azriel couldn’t help but glance over at you. A smile appeared on his face as he took in your beauty. He couldn’t believe he completely overlooked you and was pining after the wrong female. He wanted to desperately tell you in front of everyone, especially in front of the general that had also been eye fucking you throughout dinner that he knew you were his mate.
He didn’t though. He knew it would be foolish to announce it in front of everyone and probably cause you to be embarrassed. He needed to do it when you were alone.
Fortunately for him, that opportunity came sooner than he thought. “I’ll be right back, I need to use the washroom” you excused yourself and left the table. Azriel took the opportunity and excused himself as well before trailing after you.
Azriel patiently waited outside for you. His shadows went wild with excitement when you finally exited and quickly darted towards you. “Oh hello,” you squealed at the shadows running up and down your body.
“They missed you” Azriel explained and got your attention.
“Azriel” you whispered “what are you doing here? Why aren’t you eating with everyone else?”
“I needed to talk to you in private” Azriel replied and started making you feel nervous about what he might want to talk about. “Why didn’t you tell me you were my mate?” Azriel asked with desperation in his hazel eyes.
The question took you by surprise but you decided to answer it honestly: “Because you were in love with Elain,” you replied: “You were so in love that you questioned the cauldron's decision to make Lucien Elain's mate.” Azriel felt his heart stop at your explanation. He didn’t know that anyone heard his argument with Rhysand months ago about him thinking the cauldron made a mistake. “I thought if you found out I was your mate you would think the cauldron definitely made a mistake and that I was intended to be with Lucien and you with Elain. I just want you to be happy and if that means being with Elain then you have my blessing. But if you do proceed with courting her, I will be permanently moving to the day court.” You tried your hardest not to cry before continuing: “I can’t bear to be under the same roof when it happens”.
Sadness rippled through the bond and Azriel hated the fact that he was the reason behind it. “I don’t want Elain; I want you” Azriel pleaded. “I can’t live another second without you by my side.”
“It’s just the mating bond” you replied “It’ll fade away over time.”
“No it won’t” Azriel got closer and cupped your face “Do you need me to get on my knees for you? I’ll drop this instant if it means you forgive my actions. Listen, you don’t have to accept the mating bond right now if you don’t want to, but please allow me to show you how much I love you.”
Every part of you wanted to say no, you just got in a good place mentally and you didn’t want to have it destroyed again. Another part of you felt the desperation through the bond and wanted nothing more than to wrap your arms around Azriel. Letting out a shaky breath, you whispered: “Please don’t break my heart.”
Azriel took that as an invitation to lean in and kiss you. You felt yourself become one with Azriel as he deepened the kiss and started moving his hands up and down your body: “I’ll guard it with my life” Azriel replied; his lips hovering over your own “Thank you for trusting me with it”.
Just as Azriel was about to slip his hands under your dress, a loud cough caused you to pull away. Azriel looked over his shoulder and spotted the general glaring at the two of you: “My high lord is wondering if you will be joining us for dessert or are you two going to fuck instead.”
“Tell Helion that we will not be joining you guys,” you replied before looking up at Azriel: “Tell him that my mate and I are going to be in my room for the rest of the night.”
Azriel gave the general a wicked grin at your response before being pulled upstairs to your room.

After joining the Heart Pirates and dating their captain, your number one entertainment is to soend time with Bepo and Law. While Bepo does feel embarrassed for your acts to him, you absolutely felt like he's a huge cuddly bear more than a scary one.
He even complained to Law himself that he should get you your very own fuzzy friend since you've bothered Bepo so much he couldn't face you anymore without getting embarrassed! Law, the asshole he is, refused to get you one.
You very much enjoyed the idea and pestered Law into getting you one yourself and have some dignity for Bepo, then, he finally agreed. You both visited a pet shop, and just with it's entrance you couldn't leave anymore. Inside were full of cute animals waiting to be adopted, you just wanted to take them all.
"(Name)-Ya, what about this guy?" He pointed and peeked into the small cage, and there, was a white fluffy kitty who has just woken up from its slumber. Yes, perfect! It looked so cute and cuddly! You already fell inlove with it just by looking! "Awh, look at how much she resembles Bepo!"
You both took her back, and upon your arrival you set her free in her new home, the sub.
For the past few weeks, your attention had been glued to your new friend, not wanting anything on your path. It was so bad you had more pictures of her than you and Law combined! And the way you trip because you watch her instead of where you were going.
Law on the other hand, was definitely not feeling it, he felt like the white furball just replaced him with everything! You shared a bed with her, she gets your attention, she gets to be with you all day! If he were honest, he would blurt out how jealous he was for the furball.
In which, you suspected him for. "Law, are you really okay? You've been quiet and only staring since you sat down."
"I told you I am okay, don't worry." He finally let out a sigh after realizing you weren't with the kitten anymore, that was until he heard meow, and behind you was the kitten. You picked her up and setted her into your lap, receiving a piercing glance from Law.
"Are you okay? You're doing the stare aga— ohhhh..." You had finally realized that he was jealous, not by anyone, but the kitty that you've been giving attention to.
"What?" "Don't tell me you're jealous of our little furball!" You laugh at him. "What?! W-why the hell would you think that?"
"Law, it's quite obvious...come here, lay with us." You invited him with open arms and he jumped right into you.

Ever since Chopper had joined the Straw Hats, you couldn't take your hands off his cheeks and head, continuesly patting and hugging him from his cuteness. Even your boyfriend, Luffy had agreed!
Chopper was definitely nice to have around, when you're stressed? You pat him. When you need to let it out? Hug him. He's just so cute and fuzzy! The way you'd kill people when you hear them talk bad about Chopper, because you refuse to let people think that he was a monster.
Eventually Luffy thought that you and Chopper became best friends of how you two always chatter about everything, at first he taught it's what makes the crew more unique.
But eventually, after a month, he noticed how you'd been glued with the reindeer all the time. He taught it was normal since you two were best friends but, this time you might have crossed the line.
"(Name)!! I'm hungry, can you cook meat?" He asked you with the usual big smile on his face. "Oh no Luffy, could you ask Sanji? I'm hanging out with Chopper today.." Bad Idea, you never refused to cook him meat even if you were busy. He knew you enough to just refuse to cook meat for him. The way he frowned as you waved him and went into the dock with Chopper.
Later that night, when everyone was asleep, you felt someone tugging your clothes. "Pst, (Name)." It was Luffy.
"Eh? Luffy? Why are you awake at a time like this.." you groggily whispered. "Just come here" You spproach his area and he pulled you with him.
"Finally some peace between us" He gave you a big grin and placed his hand on your back. "It's been a while you know— you've always been with Chopper."
"Luffy, wh— are you jealous of Chopper?" You came with a conclusion that maybe, just maybe he got jealous of your constant hanging out eith Chopper.
"Hmm...is that how you name it, (Name)? If so then yes!" You plopped your hands on his chest and gave him a giggle. "You could've said so earlier, i would've spent more time with you, Lu"

It was 100% your idea, you had convinced Eustass to bring company of an animal into the Victoria Punk. Not only because you had no one to talk to other than Killer or Kidd himself, but simply because it was boring out in the ship.
Lucky for you, Kidd agreed to get you one of your choice, in exchange of...things. So you decided to get a Cat of your choice, simply after declaring it's recruitment into the Kidd Pirates. You gave every ounce of your attention to it, even if it means opening the door of the bathroom when you take a shower just incase the furball could come inside and pet itself across your legs.
Well that only happened twice, what DID happen was Eustass peeking at you while taking a shower, which happened about 90% of the time. You didn't mind though.
Back to our fur friend, it bothered the cleaners of the ship on how they'd find furry hair on every furniture they clean. Kidd even complained that your shared bed was full of cat fur and that it was sticking onto his skin! But you couldn't careless.
Everytime you had a chance to sit, the cat eould latch itself into your lap, preventing you from standing up and doing business. Because standing would mean disrespectful!
Now we have an angry Eustass, whenever he wants you to be around him your excuse would always be 'But theyre on my lap' and 'im playing with them give me a while' He was getting fed up with both you and the cat itself.
So you're at the comfort place in the ship, with Kidd having a staring contest with the animal on your lap, whilst you read a book a chill. Then suddenly he spoke up, "Okay that's enough." He stood up, took the cat and placed it outside the room.
"Why'd you do that for?!"
"Oh please, you have all your attention on that animal since it stepped foot into the ship, give it a break." He scoffed.
"Or you're just jealous because i give it more attention than you?" Oh, NOW you're dead. "JEALOUS?? Why would i be jealous over a stupid furry?!" He was. He was 100% jealous.
"Okay first of all, it's not a stupid furry! And second of all, you seem pretty defensive, if you're jealous just say it."
"WHAT?! No im n—"
"—Which, you definitely are, come here you big baby. I'll give you the attention you deserve." You cutted him off, now you're gonna be in big trouble.
"And i expect the attention to be filled, get on the bed fucker." It would definitely be a longggg night.

He IS the one who suggested to get a furry friend. He'd definitely be the type to adopt a puppy, and then proceed to name it one of the most basic names ever. You could see the disappointment in Marco's face when he found out he named the precious puppy 'Oreo' because it's fur was Black AND White.
He had gotten you the precious puppy as a gift for your birthday as he found out you're into having pets, and your reason? They were CUTE as hell. He had gotten you a puppy who's fur is at the brownish side.
"Hmm, what should we name him?!" "OH! OH! I know! Brownie!"..."Are you being serious, Ace?" You looked at him, praying that the name he suggested was only for sarcasm, but you were taken aback from his response. "What do you mean babe? Of course i am! It's such a perfect name for him!"
"It's... one of the most basic names I've ever heard. " You spared him a straight face, sending shivers down his spine. "Okay, okay I'll think of another name! Hm..how about Cookie?" Yeah he doesn't have naming privileges anymore.
In the end you both sticked into the name you had chosen for the puppy. Everything was going great for the first week, you buying him all the stuff he needed, the most high qualited dog food, and even his own supplies had beaten yours! With an average of spending atleast thoudands of Berries a week.
The second week hadn't been different at all, except for the fact that now that the puppy was growing, it became even more plsyful towards you. Meaning you, had soent almost all your time with it. On the other hand, your boyfriend Ace, ended up getting bitten at the hand for trying to take away it's toy that you gave.
"Babe! Do you see those eyes that's looking at me right now?! It looks like it's gonna KILL me!" Ace climbed up on a chair when he entered the house unannounced and the dog had decided to chase him for dear life.
"Come one Bae, he won't hurt you like at all! He's an angel!" You petted the dog, causing him to sit. "Yeah if it was opposite day I would've believed you! look at him, it looks like it's gonna bite my limbs of one by one!"
"Come on Ace! He won't bite you!" As soon as you reassured Ace thst nothing eould happen if he stepped down, he tried lowering his left foot down, causing the dog the fully bark at him. "SEE?!" Ace's voice was almost crying.
"Bad dog! You know he's the one who brought you to me right?! He's basically your dad! Go to your bed!" The dog whimpers then climbs it's bed.
"You know, after this i expect a full week of attention all mine! Okay?!" Ace pouts and settles himself down from the chair. You gave him a reassuring kiss, "I promise,"

do you have any frat!peter or nerdy!peter crumbs you can feed us?
cherry!peter is gonna be posted tomorrow!
nerdy!peter? here go!!!::
--
Peter’s heart is slamming against his ribcage and screaming at him to wrap you in his arms and never let go. It wants to kiss you until it stops beating, it wants to lift you up and tell you a million promises. But his brain is smarter and tells him it’s a ruse. It was a good one too, you almost had him.
“Nice try, but nothing is gonna get you out of math.”
You stare at him for a moment before giving him a glare that wishes death upon him. Your hand pushes your textbook away before you cross your arms over your chest and slump back into your seat.
“I was talking about factoring before you interrupted me. Do you need me to back up a little or just continue where I left off?” You don’t answer, Peter does for you. “Okay, going back a step. See this form? It would factor into this, right? So I need you to tell me where I got the two from.”
You stare blankly at the wall, not even a pencil poke could wake you up.
“Hey, we only have twenty more minutes and if you really try we might be able to finish this lesson today.” It’s like he’s talking to a wall, you’re a void object. “C’mon, where’d my two come from? You got this, you crushed integers last week.”
Your jaw clenches, Peter slides his paper in front of you and taps it with his pencil eraser. “You’re wasting time.” You can’t take it anymore, you slam your book shut and stand to stuff it in your backpack.
“We’re not done. We have eighteen minutes.” You start walking, you make it out the door before your path is blocked by an administrator with a heavy frown. “Mandatory. Get back inside.” You swallow your rage and stomp right back inside and retake your seat, Peter doesn’t make a joke but he picks up where you left him.
“How did I get two?”
You rip the pencil from his hand and snap it in half. “Fuck you and fuck your factoring.”
“Woah. You owe me another Ticonderoga.”

All for you | Carl Gallagher
Tumblr media
pairing: Carl Gallagher x female!reader
show: Shameless
warnings: angst, fluff, smut (the reader and Carl are 18 years old in this ff)
summary: Carl is challenged that he can get your money, if he makes you fall in love with him. He loves the challenge until he loves something else more...
authors note: sorry for so many pov switched, I didnt notice it, when I first wrote this ff. Also I haven't had the chance to watch all the seasons yet, but I still hope that Carl's character is somewhat accurate :))
Tumblr media
Carl's pov
"Frank, goddamit youre no help! Why are you even lying around here - oh forget it, I don't want to hear it." Fiona's voice echoes in the room, while the entire Gallagher household is present.
The everyday discussion has been going on for too many minutes in which I could have done something better. The damn question “How do we get enough money?”
Lip at college, Ian with his gangster boyfriend, my shitty sister with her kid and then Liam. This family is screwed. No wonder with a father like Frank.
As the argument continues to escalate, I have the misfortune of sitting right next to him.
"You care to share some money, son?" Of course, my attempts to ignore him are unsuccessful.
"The drug trade doesn't always work out so well, but the weapon thing was something. You could give one to your good old dad, you know what the neighborhood is like." I run my hands through my hair in frustration, shaking my head.
"Just get one or two girls pregnant at school, then all of our problems are solved. But she has to be rich. After all, you want to get your hard work paid." Why the hell am I still here?
"You used to be more enthusiastic about my ideas. If you don't want to do play daddy, then use your charm. When I was your age, my cock was enough and the girls were happy."
"Be fucking quiet, no one wants to hear about your pathetic youth." It's no use, he keeps talking.
"I'm only saying, If you make a rich girl fall in love with you, then you can get money to do something nice for your family."
As I get up and walk away from him I take a breath, the tension caused by this idiot sucks.
Still, his words got me thinking. Maybe there's a new girl who would be perfect for this job...

When I moved here, I wasn't sure what to expect. New school, maybe mean classmates and bad cafeteria food. That I might be able to join a group and make friends, people who laugh with me in class or go to the cinema together on weekends.
I was prepared to get lost in the hallways a few times, perhaps to be peppered with embarrassing questions by the teachers. I had even prepared myself for being called a nerd again and therefore spending my lunch breaks alone.
Then things turned out differently. I met two girls who, although they scared me at first with their need to gossip all the time, are good people at heart.
They studied with me (meaning they told me the newest gossip and braided my hair while I did our homework), showed me the city and its pitfalls. I felt comfortable, prepared and confident for what awaited me here.
Oh lord, was I wrong.
On a Thursday in the middle of the week I met a boy who messed everything up. Literally.
I met him when he was running through the halls twenty minutes late, but stupidly didn't pay attention to me, who was about to cross his path. Let's put it this way, it ended with my books on the floor, my jacket hanging off my shoulder, and his hair being a huge mess.
When he looked at me, I expected to hear something like "sorry" or "I'll help you."
You want to know what he said?
"Cute top. Let me know if you need help taking it off."
Then he got up casually and walked into the classroom across the hallway, a grin on his face as if he had won the Bachelor title.
After this encounter two things became very clear to me. 1. Look both ways when crossing the halls and 2. Stop daydreaming about this boy, even if he has beautiful blue eyes.
The first thing worked better than the second.
After a few descriptions, which actually only consisted of "incredibly impudent and incredibly good-looking", it was explained to me who I was dealing with.
Carl Gallagher. A boy who has lived here since he was born, someone who is rumoured to be more dangerous than the Italian Mafia.
Even though I thought that was exaggerated, I quickly realized that I should stay away from him and that he meant trouble.
Aside from the fact that I wasn't going to be in the situation of talking to him again anyway, my eyes couldn't stop themselves from looking at him.
There was something that defined him, something that made me want to watch a grin creep across his face when he made an inappropriate joke, how he would push his blonde hair back and his eyes would shine mischievously, as if he had already planned the next bank robbery.
I wasn't the only one who found his charisma attractive tho, of course not when he looked like one of God's angels, but he never really seemed interested in other girls. At least not with any serious intent, you might hear him flirting or making comments about his free bed, but you would never saw him in a relationship.
He never held hands or kissed anyone, had a real smile on his face or said sweet things, he was just Carl.
Suggestive, hot-tempered and like a flag that proclaimed: Stay away from me, because you will lose this fight.
I also felt that if I continued to watch him, I would lose the battle for platonic feelings towards him too.
"Please don't tell me you're looking at our school bad boy again. You better be careful, he might want to sell you a gun." Kenzie's voice makes me sigh.
"These are just rumors. Besides, it's not my fault, he's just -" Her hand on my shoulder interrupts me.
"We know, you have heart eyes every time you talk about him. There are so many great guys in this world, I'm not saying at this school, but you choose this one?" Her look says more than a thousand words as she looks over at Carl, who is pushing his way trough the crowd.
"I'm not in love, just curious. Those are two different things, okay?" Her eyebrows raise.
"You mean, curious how his lips would feel on yours?" Her laughter at my expression is lost in the sounds of the cafeteria.
"Very funny." I murmur to her, food forgotten on my plate. When the school bell rings, I stand up and pick up my backpack.
"My class is canceled now, but I'm going to the library. Will you meet me later?" As I walk backwards I see her thumbs up and the hearts she makes in Carl's direction. My reaction is two quick middle fingers.
As I walk out of the school building, I check my phone and tie my hair into a braid. The library is a few blocks away and the cool air makes me shiver.
When I get there and wave to the boy at the entrance, I turn to my favorite department. Call it cliche, but I love romance books. I mean, I don't know what it feels like to love someone with all my heart, but that doesn't mean I don't love reading about it.
The books I actually need are a few rows away. History, literature, everything I am assigned to get for school.
As I stroke over a few tapes and finally pull out a book to read the first few pages, I hear a noise next to me that makes me look up. After all, the library is usually a pretty quiet place.
As I look into the familiar blue eyes, I feel my cheeks turn red.
I have to stop myself from staring.
"Always a book in your hand, I see." Oh his voice hasn't changed. I try to shrug casually as I answer, but I'm not sure if it actually works.
"Aren't you going to be late for class again?" At my sarcasm he smiles, he takes a step in my direction which weakens my control over my voice.
"I thought I would learn something somewhere else too." These coded words make me swallow.
"So, you're here often?" I almost think he's not answering me, but maybe I'm just not concentrating, because I'm paying too much attention to every mole on his face.
"Actually, I didn't even know this shitty town had a library." His words make me laugh, but several requests to be quiet around us, make me whisper in response.
"Then why are you here?" I think my breathing stops as his hand brushes my fingers that are still holding the book.
"You're here." I feel my heart beating nervously faster, I probably look pretty confused and when I notice his grin, something flutters in my chest.
"No interest in books, huh?" Can my answer actually be any lamer?
"Dont worry, I have a newfound interest in you."

If someone had told me a few weeks ago that I would become friends with Carl Gallagher, I would have found the idea absolutely crazy. To be honest, I still find the situation insane, but damn my cheeks still turn just as red when he's with me as they did the first time.
It turns out that he really has no interest in books, even though he visited me at the library almost every day since we met in the romance department.
I've never met anyone like him, funny and couragous without any reserve, always looking for trouble, acting self-confident. But also sweet.
He's like a current that pulls you along, like a wind that blows so hard that you fly with it. He feels like freedom and it is wonderful.
He makes me laugh, he carries my books, plays with my hair, walks home with me. In such a short time I feel like he didn't knock on the doors to my heart, instead he made a home there.
Maybe this is what it feels like to fall in love.
It's not a gentle announcement, more of a realization that makes you incredibly desperate and happy at the same time.
But with him I actually just feel happy.
"Ready, sunshine?" As soon as I come out of the classroom, he comes towards me and takes my bag from me. My heart jumps at his gesture, which feels like winning the Olympics.
"You're crazy, where do you even want to go?" He has something planned but won't tell me. When he puts his arm around my shoulder and I lean against him, I get a few sideways glances from our classmates.
Carl ignores everyone like always, it's crazy but the way he's so confident is pretty attractive to me.
"Does the guy in your cheesy books also tell you where they go on dates? I bet not, so just wait."

"It feels like you're kidnapping me."
I feel his smile on my back and have to giggle quietly at his response.
"Mh, I plan to do that. But only for a few hours, otherwise my head will roll tomorrow. Your father takes your curfew pretty seriously."
I feel his hands on my hips, guiding me forward, hear the birds chirping around us, but can't figure out where we're going.
"Just a few more steps, baby. Then you'll see." As he promised, it is only a few meters away and when I see a small, calm lake, my mouth falls open in surprise.
"Carl, oh my God! It's wonderful here, thank you so much." I turn around in his grip and look at him, his smile reflects the love that I feel.
"Yeah? How much do you like it?" As his eyes focus on my lips, I feel a tingling feeling in my stomach. Slowly, my fingers stroke his chest and I see him swallow, even though he tries to hide it.
"I think it's incredibly beautiful here, I love it. And...I really like you." I shyly lower my gaze, my words are met with an unknown silence that makes me anxious after a few seconds. But when I look up at him again, he pushes a strand of my hair out of my face.
"To me, you are much more beautiful than this sight. I like you too and I thought that was pretty obvious." I smile broadly, butterflies fly around in my stomach and as the sun illuminates his face, I feel incredibly happy.
"You're so nice to me, I don't know how I deserve this." An expression crosses his face, but when I blink he smiles at me again.
"After all, you are the first person who explained the topics for the history exam to me, without giving up." My hand cups his cheek.
"I wouldn't give you up, you've become too important to me." As I stand on my tiptoes, our lips brush, his hand is on my back and pushes me closer to him.
"You are an angel." With his words we kiss and everything else around us blurs, only he remains. Everything is unimportant except him, standing in front of me, so handsome, that it is difficult not to look at him.
"Come on, let's go for a swim." As he pulls me towards the lake, you can hear our loud laughter in the air.

"When are you going to collect the money? You've been with her for the last three months and nothing has come of it." Frank's annoying voice frustrates me more than anything else.
"I am working on it. Besides, she's actually really caring." When I see the dismissive hand gesture in my direction, I roll my eyes.
"You are completely wrong, son. A person is there for a certain period of time, but money? Money accompanies you throughout your life, especially if you buy beautiful bottles of the best alcohol."
I sink into the sofa, but want to turn away when I feel his hand on my shoulder.
"If you put it off any longer, it will be harder to get out of the situation. Girls your age will start planning to get married, if you stay with them for months."
But when he leaves, I feel conflicted. Can I really do this to her?

"Happy birthday!" Her voice makes me jump and, confused, I turn around on the bench to look into her excited eyes.
"Why are you jumping around like that? Are you practicing for cheerleading?" I'm making fun of her, but the smile on her face doesn't fade.
"No, idiot. I'm just really curious to see how you react to your gift." My breath catches for a moment as I take in her words.
"You got me something?" When she leans forward and gives me a kiss on the cheek while pressing the bag into my lap, I start to smile too.
"Open!" Her encouragement breaks me out of my trance and I quickly tear up the paper, looking at the tickets with wide eyes.
"But...these tickets cost a fortune? Did you sell your liver or something?" When I look at her, she smiles back at me.
"I talked to my dad and he agreed that you deserve something special for your birthday. Are you happy?" As I look at the cards, I suddenly feel a pang in my heart. It must be showing on my face, because her happiness is also fading away.
"Do you not like it? I thought it was your favorite team? I can get you something else." When I look at her, I quickly pull her between my legs and kiss her.
"Shh, breathe angel. It's perfect, thank you. And well, your father. It's just a lot of money." Her hands play with the fabric of my shirt.
"You always say that. Do you have problems at home, with money, I mean? I've never been to your place, I don't even know where you live." What should I say to her now?
"It's okay." Her raised eyebrows look at me reproachfully, making me sigh.
"Each of us has to contribute a certain amount of money every month and if I don't sell fucking drugs, it will be tight." Her astonished look makes me pause and I gently stroke her arms.
Before I can say anything else, she kisses me. I look at her in surprise.
"What's that for?" She smiles shyly, looks at the floor for a moment before looking at me again.
"You're just so honest, I admire that. And that you've never asked me for anything, you know. That I lend you some money."
Fuck. Shit. What do I say?
"Yeah, I mean, I don't want to burden you with that-" but she interrupts me again, her concentrated expression makes me curious.
"What's going on in your pretty head?" My hands wander over her sides.
"It's the end of the month, how much are you missing?" I frown in confusion, but when she doesn't let it go, I tell her the amount.
"$240, the rest I earned by helping in the neighborhood." But despite the high sum, she just nods, looks at me again and gives me another kiss.
"Okay, maybe I'll be your sugar mommy." I have to laugh at the absurdity, but the longer she grins at me, the more I think she means it.
"What, are you serious? Thats fucking crazy, how am I supposed to pay you back?" Her eyes look around, but since the classroom is relatively empty during recess, she finds herself between my legs again. She slowly lets her hand wander down my stomach until she squeezes my cock through my clothes and I close my eyes in delight.
"Hmm, maybe you could help me relax between classes." Her eyes sparkle mischievously and I look at her with a grin.
"Anything you want, sugar."
Let's put it this way, the next few weeks the breaks were filled with kissing in the back corner of the classroom, dry humping on the toilet or Carl doing his best to pleasure me with his tongue in the caretaker's room, like now.
"Ahh-, Carl. I'll cum if you keep that up." His head has disappeared under my skirt, his fingers are stroking the bare skin of my thigh and the sinful movements of his tongue are making me see stars.
As he adds a finger and runs it over my folds, slowly until he inserts it, he looks at me again.
"You coming for me? Yeah, be a good girl or do you want to get caught by the old janitor grandpa spreading your legs for me?" As my eyes roll back, he pumps another finger into me, scissoring it thoroughly and hitting that sweet spot inside me.
When I moan loudly, he grins.
"You like that? Just wait until I bury my cock in you and you cant walk straight afterwards, so that everyone will notice." When his finger presses my clitoris, I see white and as I come I try to muffle the sounds with my hand over my mouth.
When I get off my high, I blindly search for my panties. But Carl beats me first.
"Hmm, no. I think I'll keep it as a little souvenir. Maybe you can get it back when you come to my house later." I don't know what surprises me more: that he wants me to run around exposed at school or that I'm invited to his house for the first time.
"Really? I'd like to come." But he interprets my words differently, his fingers stroke my entrance again and I moan and squeeze my eyes shut.
"Don't worry, I'll take care of it. Very well and for a very long time." When the bell rings, he lets go of me and I whimper slightly.
"Carl-" but he interrupts me by pulling back and straightening my skirt.
"I'm sure our agreement was between recess, now it's class time. Come on, I'll make it up to you later."

As we ride the bus toward his home, I take his hand and intertwine our fingers.
"But don't expect a mansion or any of that shit." Ever since we left school, he has been bad-mouthing his hometown every free minute he has.
"Don't worry, I'll only have eyes for you anyway." The statement makes him laugh and he relaxes a little. As we get out and walk a little way along the street, we are watched by a few people.
"Why are so many people staring at us?" When he look at me, I'm obviously confused.
"Not everyone here wears designer clothes that cost several thousand dollars. If you come here more often, they'll call you a princess." Giggling, I slap him on the arm and as we climb the stairs to his house, I look around curiously.
"So this is where you grew up." His shoulders shrug casually, but I see him trying to gauge my reaction.
"Yeah, where in the world could it be nicer?" I laugh at his sarcastic comment and we both smile at each other as we enter the house.
I hear him calling into the house, then a girl with red hair appears, carrying a baby.
"You must be Debbie, the little one is so adorable." When I hold out my hand, she just looks at Carl with her eyebrows still raised.
"What did you do to end up with her? Also my daughter's name is Franny and yes, I know condoms exist." Surprised, I don't know exactly how to answer, so I leave it to Carl.
"My tongue is magic, Debs. Too bad you won't find out yourself anytime soon, Derek has moved away. By the way, Franny seems hungry." I'm unsure of the dynamic between the two of them, as she turns away and walks away, I resist the urge to say goodbye.
"That was...nice." His hand pulling me towards the stairs distracts me.
"She's a real ray of sunshine, come on. The others aren't back yet, so you can be as loud as you want this time."
When we get upstairs, he leads me into his room and I look at the magazines, posters and little things scattered everywhere.
"Cleaning and you are definitely not friends, huh?" I laugh at my joke, but Carl has other plans than letting me inspect his room.
He puts his hands on my hips and pushes me against the closed door, my breath catches as his eyes find mine.
"Do you want to keep playing housemaid? Then put on a damn maid costume, otherwise keep your eyes on me." At his stern voice, I press my thighs together and, grinning, I drag my fingers across his chest once again.
"Would you like that? Me on the floor, my ass in the air, and no underwear? Oh wait, what a coincidence that I'm not wearing any now either." His eyebrows raise, I see his eyes darken with lust.
"Let's save this little fantasy for another time, right now I just want to see you on my cock." Smiling, I lean towards him and start kissing him. I loosen the belt I bought him and pull him closer to me by his waistband.
"I think I did well today. After all, I didn't complain about getting through the school day without underwear. Do I get my reward now?" Grinning, he takes off my top and looks at my lace bra.
"Everything you want." He drops to his knees in front of me and kisses his way along my thighs, lifts my skirt and presses a kiss to my folds. Slowly he moves his tongue higher and kisses my stomach, I lean my head against the door.
"Does that feel good?" I just nod, burying my hand in his hair as he puts his mouth on me again.
"Ahh- Carl, I want you now." His fingers stretch me, the wetness running down my legs, making me tremble.
"You got me, sweetheart. What do you want me to do?" His head lifts to look at me and I place my fingers around his chin, seeing the moisture on his lips.
"I've been prepared enough, I want your dick now. Let's see if it's as magical as your tongue." Grinning, he stands up and lifts me up, lays me on my back on his bed and lies down between my legs.
He places a few kisses on my legs, then stretches up on his elbows so he's hovering over me. Then he kisses my cheek and my lips, lets his tongue slide over them and lets me taste myself.
I run my fingers through his blonde hair and pull his body closer to me. When he pulls a condom out of his pocket, I hold my breath.
"You still want to do this?" His look calms all the worries I had. I nod, stroking my fingers over his heated cheek.
"I trust you." His next kiss is passionate, his hands gliding over my body, caressing every bit of exposed skin. I lift my back off the mattress and let him take off my bra. His head lowers to run his tongue over my navel. As he sucks on them, I moan softly.
One of his hands starts kneading my breasts and when I try to take off my skirt, he stops me.
"Leave it on, okay?" I kiss him in response.
His hand strokes my sides and my own hands rest on his shoulders as he presses the tip of his cock against my entrance.
"Ready, baby?" When I agree, he presses himself into me and for a moment I have to squint my eyes because it hurts.
Then I feel several gentle kisses on my cheek, my forehead and my lips. His attempts to distract me work and as I become more and more relaxed, he slides further into me.
Slowly he presses his hips against me, the stretch so great that I can feel him all the way into my stomach. He waits for a moment, whispering sweet things in my ears until they get dirty and I beg him to move.
My hands wrap around his shoulders as he thrusts into me for the first time, the air around us thickening as he grunts and a moan escapes me.
"You're doing so well, God, you feel so good." His hips move faster and faster, the pleasure spreads through my body and the wetter I feel, the easier he slides in and out of me.
"You are perfect, my perfect girl. Do you feel good?" His hands stroke my skin, gently pinching my nipples, playing with them and making me squirm beneath him.
As he grips my hips and pushes himself harder into me, my head starts to spin. My noises get louder.
"Carl- god, please go harder" And so he does, the room is filled with the sounds of our bodies and sweat forms on us.
"Baby, do you want to ride me? You have such pretty thighs." I nod and when he pulls out of me I can't think clearly, I just want him to fill me up again.
He leans back and as I stabilize myself on his shoulders, I sink back onto him. The feeling is even better that my eyes roll back. His hands grasp my hips, helping me move.
"That's right, baby. You're doing so good, riding my cock like the good girl you are." At his words, I tighten my grip on him and he curses as I move harder on top of him.
The faster I go, the more exhausting it becomes, but as I feel a knot forming in my stomach, I ride him so fast just to chase my pleasure.
Then suddenly as he hits my spot inside me over and over again, I go boneless on him and melt in his arms. My come drips all over him and as he continues to fuck me, reaching his own climax, I tremble in his grip.
"Just a few more thrusts, baby. Ah, keep holding on to me." Even though I have lost my strength, I move on him a few more times until he comes and I lay my head on his shoulder.
We're both breathing heavily, but everything feels so good, so warm and comfortable, that I don't want to move a single muscle anymore.
He carefully pulls out of me, I moan slightly at the loss. He gently lays me back on his pillow and gives me a kiss before throwing the condom away.
He pulls the blanket over us and puts his arm around me to pull me closer. I snuggle up to him and feel so safe that I quickly press my lips to his skin.
"That was wonderful." He also presses a kiss on my hair.
"That was incredible, you are the best. I can't wait to do it again." Our embrace becomes tighter. For a moment the room is silent.
When I whisper his name, he hums in response.
"I know it's cliche to say something like that after the first time. But I just feel it so much that it hurts to keep it to myself. I love you." As I lie on his chest I hear his heart stop for a moment and then it starts beating much faster.
"I- no one has ever said that to me before." When I raise my head and look at him, he doesn't look at me. Instead, his eyes are fouced on the ceiling.
"I just want you to know. I don't want to put any pressure on you to say it. I just thought you should hear it. You know, now that things are serious between us." Again he is silent and I start to worry, but then he looks at me.
"You are truly the most incredible person I have ever met. I consider myself very lucky." He smiles at me, then leans down and we kiss for a moment. It feels like heaven.
We lay there for a few minutes, just cuddling and telling each other how our day was. We laugh and as the sun slowly sets, I start to get dressed.
"I wish I could stay here with you. But you know what my parents are like." He leans back on his elbow, watching me get dressed and contact my parents to pick me up.
"Hmm, I think we would do it again. If you stayed here tonight, I mean." I smile at him, sit down on his bed for a moment and ruffle his hair.
"I wouldn't mind, darling." The nickname makes him blush and when he leans forward to kiss me, I playfully push him away.
"I have to go, are you coming down with me?" He nods, feigning annoyance, and as we walk out of his room, he puts his arm around my waist and pulls me towards him.
He steals his kiss there, but more than that he steals my heart.
We smile at each other and for this moment everything is just perfect. We go downstairs and just as we are back in the living room we hear a door open loudly.
A visibly drunk man stumbles in. I see Carl tense up next to me, staring at the stranger angrily. I quietly lean towards him to whisper my question.
"Who is that?" When he rolls his eyes, I get a bad feeling.
"That's my father, great isn't it?" The man in front of me is dirty, has unkempt hair and an unpleasant smile on his face.
"Should I ask my parents if you can stay overnight?" My gaze is more focused on the man than on Carl.
But he just shakes his head, and just as he is about to answer, the man sees us too.
"Oh, my son! It's so good to see you, not really, but I'll take your bed. Fiona has mine. Is that your little girlfriend? She looks expensive, very good catch. How much money did you rip her off? I hope it's worth it to go through all this drama." I frown in confusion, but when Carl freezes next to me, I become uncertain.
"What does he mean by that?" This time my gaze is directed solely at Carl.
"Nothing, he's drunk-" but before he can finish, the man does.
"How rude of me, I am Frank. The proud father of this child, at least one of my descendants has made something of himself and used his talent. He has my good genes, the good looks and I teach him the tricks. Like exploiting an innocent, very very rich girl for money. It doesn't bother you, I hope? You seem to have enough, but I hope my son returns the favor to you."
The words catch me so off guard that I can't move. I don't believe anything this man says until I see the guilty look on Carl's face.
"W-what? That's a lie, right? Tell me he's lying, Carl." As he runs his hands through his hair and tries to answer me, Frank speaks again.
"Oh, you haven't confessed to her yet? My fault, I should have waited. I didn't think you would humiliate this girl for so long. I told you this wouldn't end well." But Carl ignores him completely when he notices me moving away from him.
"Wait, I'm sorry. It wasn't like that-" But I interrupt him, already feeling tears gathering in my eyes.
"So what happened? You act like you don't want any money from me and-" Carl's look becomes frustrated.
"You offered me your money! You said if I matched it, everything would be fine for you." I'm almost speechless, is this all a nightmare?
"Are you serious? I offered it to you because you weren't asking for it. And now I find out it was your plan from the beginning? You just talked to me, just spent time with me to get my money? Who does that?" Frank's voice intervenes.
"I invented the strategy, my dear. It's turning out to be quite useful." But I don't pay attention to him, I just look at Carl.
"Please, I'm sorry. Yes, it was meant that way in the beginning, but it's different now. I-" My tears flow when he admits it and any feeling of happiness disappears. All that remains is betrayal and sadness.
"You what? What am I saying, you were probably happy that I only wanted you in return. I'm such an idiot. You didn't just take my money, you took my first time too!" As he comes towards me, I step back.
"Listen to me, I didnt force you to do all this for me. You wanted it." The more he talks the more desperate I feel and the greater my anger becomes.
"You idiot! I thought you liked me! I thought you finally noticed me too." My sobs get louder and my vision blurs. When he tries to grab my face, I slap him.
"My cue to go. I can see that you're sorting it out between yourselves just fine." Frank's footsteps fading away are nothing compared to the sound of my heart breaking.
"I like you, I really like you. At first it wasn't my intention to start a relationship with you, but then I got to know you and-" Every word that escapes him is only worse.
"Stop talking! You know what the worst thing is that I liked you for so long before you even talked to me. And I thought it was a miracle when you first spoke to me in the libary. I should have listened to the others, you only care about yourself!" I wipe the tears from my cheeks, wishing I could be anywhere but here.
Then before he can say anything, I turn around and run out of the house. But I hear him following me.
"Wait! Don't just walk away, I have to get this straight. Hey!" He catches me, turns me around and holds my tear-stained face in his hands.
"I'm an idiot, I know that. I'm sorry for hurting you. I- God, I love you. You hear me? I love you too. Please stay." But I just shake my head and try to free myself from his grip.
"How do I know if that isn't a lie too? You've betrayed me, I can't talk to you now." When my car pulls up, I get in without turning around. I don't look back, even though his loud curse can be heard throughout the whole neighborhood.

I spend the next few days without saying much, but I cried almost the whole time.
I miss him incredibly, not a day has gone by in the last few months when I haven't seen him and now I've been alone for three days.
I wish he was here, but on the other hand I am so hurt and feel terrible. He is the reason for this.
I wish I had never found out. I wish he had never done it, never lied to me. Didn't use me for money, but worst of all, I don't know if he even likes me.
Today is the first day that I go back to school. Even though I put on make-up, choose a nice outfit and listen to my favorite songs to distract myself, I can only think of him.
His blonde hair, his beautiful eyes, the way his lips felt. How he felt inside me. Then I remember that he loves me and how he finally said it, something I have wanted to hear for so long.
But then I think about what he did and everything feels empty again.
As I enter the school, my friends come to meet me. They already know what happened, they all hug me and I feel a little better.
Until I see him.
And he sees me too. It takes all my effort to avert my gaze. To get my books out of my cupboard, but then I have to stop because he is not standing next to me offering to carry them.
I take it myself, close my door, but before I can go any further, he is standing in front of me. My heart stops. Oh, how his eyes shine.
"Do you need help?" His eyes focus on the books and I have to swallow several times before I can answer.
"No, I have to go to class now." But as I try to walk past him, he stops me.
"You don't answer my texts, you don't call me back. I'm not allowed into your house and you avoid me at school. What can I do? Please tell me what I need to do, so you forgive me." I laugh, but it is without humor.
"What can you do? Move."
I can see his shock, but he still doesn't step aside.
"Can't you hear me? I said-" but he walks toward me until I'm forced to lean my back against the lockers.
His eyes find mine.
"I can't sleep. And when I do, I dream of you. There's a - a hole in my heart that only you can fill. It hurts and I hate not being with you. It's even worse to be here, when you don't look at me the way you usually do. You don't smile at me, God, you don't look like you're in love with me anymore. It's hell."
Tears gather in my eyes, his words are so desperate, it hurts to see him like this.
"Maybe you should have thought about that before you took advantage of me. Before you slept with me." A tear runs down my cheek and I know my mascara is smudging.
"I know, I know. And I feel so bad, I'll do anything to make it right. Just tell me."
When I look into his eyes, my heart also hurts.
"Move, Carl. I can't see you now." This time he lets go of me and I go to class with tears in my eyes.

Your pov
It's been four weeks since we last spoke, but it doesn't hurt any less to see him. Even if I don't let him talk to me, he doesn't give up.
He puts flowers in my locker, chocolate, and notes full of apologies and sweet promises.
Everything warms my heart, but it still feels like this money thing is unresolved between us. I know now that he likes me, very much in fact, as he makes it clear, but that doesn't change the real problem.
That he used me for my money.
As I leave school that day, I feel exhausted and, as I often do, I wish I had his arms around me.
Holding me tight, his lips kissing me, loving me.
As I wait for my father's car, I suddenly hear his familiar throat clearing. With my heart pounding, I turn around and see him smiling uncertainly at me.
"I know what I had to do and now I've done it. Here." He gives me an envelope and I take it uncertainly.
"Carl, your letters are flattering, but-" He quickly interrupts me.
"No, it's something else. Open it." The deja vu hits me unexpectedly and I slowly open the envelope, the content leaves me speechless.
"What is that supposed to be?" It's rhetorical, but I ask anyway.
"All the money I owe you. What you've kindly given me, I pay it back. Every cent. You can count." He looks so proud, I almost have to laugh.
"How- did you rob a bank?" He grins contentedly at my reaction.
"An old grandma." This time I laugh and he comes closer to me, slowly taking my hands.
"No, seriously. How did you do that?" He looks at me lovingly.
"Working in the kitchen every day after school, I found a part-time job with Fiona. The payment is bad, but it was worth it. I understand that money was the problem and well, that I wasn't honest to you." As I lower the envelope, we look at each other.
"Promise, no more secrets?"
He smiles and suddenly the world is a brighter place.
"Promise, but we continue one of our agreements." I raise my eyebrows questioningly, seeing him grin as he leans toward me, his breath brushing against my lips and he whispers:
"I'll still spend my breaks with you in the janitor's room."
The laughter that escapes me gets interrupted, when his lips meet mine.

The conversation with Neelam that you had earlier was distracting you from focusing on you actually being able to spend time with Jack since the two of you would have to go weeks at a time without seeing one another.
Those facetime calls didn't cut it all the time.
Waiting until the crowd died down after the show, Jack volunteered to walk you out to your car but made sure to wear a hoodie in order to cover his curly hair in the hopes that no one would notice him. Jack knew that you could read him like a book, but reading you was a completely different ballgame and at times could be difficult for him. He could tell that something was on your mind and quickly got to the point to ask you about it.
“What's on your mind Buttercup?” He asked while starting to play with the ends of your hair.
“Hmm just thinking how much I'm going to miss you after I leave and how bad I want to kiss you, but we’re out in the open and there's too many eyes.”
All Jack did was look at you because he knew you were lying through your teeth.
“Hmm, that's definitely a lie. That might be partially true, but there's something else more to it. I'll let it slide for now, but don't think I'm going to forget.”
When you were silent, he quickly spoke again.
“I want you to stay with me tonight. My hotel isn't far from here. That way I feel that I can give you my undivided attention without us being interrupted.”
“Uhh? Isn't your wife here with you?” You asked, looking at him dumbfounded.
“That's why I booked two rooms. Yours is on a completely different floor so the two of you won't cross paths. And you weren't concerned when you had my dick in your mouth in my dressing room earlier knowing that she was here.”
“Isn't she going to notice you aren't next to her during the night? And you obviously didn't have a problem either since your face was between my thighs.” You shot back and all he did was smirk at you.
“Nope. And even if she does, I'll make up an excuse. So what do you say? And my favorite place to be is in-between your thighs.”
All you could do was roll your eyes and laugh.
“I didn't even bring any of my clothes and this is not going to be comfortable to sleep in.”
“Babe, what we're going to be doing doesn't involve clothes so that should be the least of your worries.”
“JACKMAN!”
“What!? What'd I say?!”
“Meaning in the morning, I'm not leaving in the same outfit I came in.”
“I have everything that you need already in your hotel room and all you have to do is bring yourself. Your husband can do without having you at home for one night.”
“He’s not even at home.”
“See? Even better. I just want to love up on my girl and give her the attention that she deserves. I have the key with me and was going to let you leave first so we don’t run the risk of anyone seeing you.”
“Looks like I’ll see you soon then.” You replied while smirking as he slipped you the hotel key.
“I shouldn’t be too much longer, and I’m going to wait until she falls asleep. And usually when she’s out, she’s out because she needs all her strength the next morning to stress me the fuck out.” Jack muttered, but you couldn’t help but to laugh.
“I’m serious, I don’t know if a switch finally went off in my brain but overall she’s not a nice person and not a good person. She is literally the definition of what you would call a mean girl.”
“You just finally realized that you deserved better and that definitely isn’t with her.”
“But enough about that. I just can’t wait to have you whimpering my name underneath me.”
Once you had gotten to the hotel and parked your car in the parking lot that was on the side of the building, you made your way to the room that Jack set aside for you and when you opened the door, the first thing you did was kick off your shoes.
He hadn’t just gotten you a simple hotel room, but an entire suite and your jaw was on the floor looking around it in awe.
You immediately grabbed your phone and sent him a text letting him know that you were there.
You- Now, Jackson…. An entire suite for just one night? You didn’t need to do all this.
Jack Jack- Yes I did because I want you to be comfortable. My baby girl deserves the best and who's to say that we’re only going to be there for one night?
All you did was laugh to yourself once you finished reading his text and went to explore the other parts of the suite.
Before you knew it, you had dozed off on the couch with the television on simply for background noise waiting for Jack and was woken up by him placing kisses all over your face before reaching the final destination of your lips.
“Hmm? What time is it?” You asked him while looking around for your phone.
“It’s around two, I’m sorry I didn’t think it would take this long.”
“No need to apologize, I got to go to sleep for a little bit so I don’t mind.”
“Mmm hmm, because you’re going to need it. If you aren’t too tired for me, I’m going to need for you to lose these clothes.” He said while helping you stand up and reaching underneath your skirt as he met your lips with yours.
“That can be arranged, but only if you take them off me.” You whispered against his lips when you broke the kiss and all he did was nod.
Jack was now holding onto your hips and eased his way in as he entered you from behind and you were leaning down against the pillow and biting down on your lip hard as you tried your best in order to keep quiet.
You had lost count of how many different positions that he had you in and just knew that he didn’t plan on stopping anytime soon and it wouldn’t surprise you if it started to get light outside either.
As you were whimpering and quietly moaning his name as he pounded into you, all he did was smirk before leaning down to place kisses all along your spine and whisper in your ear.
“My baby is taking me so well, are you going to cum for me?”
You couldn’t form an answer with words and simply nodded.
“Damn, this dick so good it got you speechless?” Jack spoke again and laughed and you couldn’t help but to roll your eyes.
Feeling him pull out, you were left confused until you felt his tongue run against your folds as he started eating you out from the back.
“Oh fuck, babe.”
“Stay still, why are you moving away from me?” He asked before going back to his task of making you come undone in front of him.
A few minutes later, you felt him stop once more and he quickly heard your protests before he slid underneath you so that you were now sitting on his face and he wrapped his arms around your thighs in order to keep you in place.
“Be patient because I have all night.” Was the last thing you heard him say before you felt him start to suck on your clit which led to you moaning his name.
You were now laying your head on Jack’s chest as he was drawing shapes on your back and the two of you were in a comfortable silence. You felt yourself dozing off to sleep when you suddenly heard his voice.
“Buttercup?”
“Yes, babe?” You sleepily answered with your eyes still closed.
“I have a question.”
“Go ahead and ask me then.”
“Why don’t you just file for divorce now? You told me that the baby has been born so what is even left for you in that marriage?”
“I just want to make sure that I do it the right way by making sure everything is in place before I do.”
“Babe, money is not an issue because you know I’m going to get you anything that you need or anything that you want. I just don’t like seeing you upset about him all the time. You know that you deserve better so I don’t have to tell you that, but…”
“Money definitely isn’t an issue. I just don’t want anything to happen that would make him want to retaliate against me.”
“Retaliate against you for what? He has a side chick and a baby, so why would he even do that?”
“That’s just how he is, and that’s why he’s such a good businessman. Sadly to say, he’s cut throat and doesn’t show any mercy and I know for a fact it’s to the point where he won’t hesitate to make me miserable. I was never on the receiving end of that, but I feel like once I file for divorce I will be.”
“Baby, all the more reason to get the fuck away from him so we can be together like we want to be. Why do I feel like you’re hesitating? Isn’t this what we talked about and isn’t this what we want? For you to finally move back to Louisville and live with me?”
“I’m not hesitating.”
“Yes you are and you keep giving me excuses. You’re a damn CRNA for fucks sake but moving back you will definitely have a pay cut but right now, you can afford the lawyer and all the fees, but I will pay for you to divorce that asshole, so what excuse are you going to give me now?”
Your eyes were now open as you sat up and looked at him.
“Why are you rushing me?”
“Buttercup, I’m not by any means rushing you. I just don’t want to see you upset all the time about what he’s doing to you.”
“Why are we only talking about me in this situation? You’re asking me what the hold up is on my end, but what is the hold up on yours? You have an entire wife that you need to divorce too, do you not?”
“I do and it’s going to happen, but unlike you I’m not making excuses and hesitating. I’m ready to file for divorce and get away from her, but I’m also waiting on you so hopefully they can be finalized at the same time. I made her sign a prenup, well, Neelam made her sign one so she isn’t getting a damn thing from me. How could you still love someone like that who has fucked you over a countless number of times? He literally got another woman pregnant.”
“And I don’t know that? How many times are you going to remind me? I already feel stupid about still loving someone like that and this conversation isn’t making it any better.”
“I want to be all in with you, but we can’t do that unless some changes are made. I want for you to experience this life with me. This is literally what we talked about when we were seventeen. There is NOTHING left for you and him. If we would have stayed together, I know for a damn fact that we would have been married by now.”
“But would we? You would have probably had to hide me once Gen Now signed you to push that single narrative.”
“What the? Where is that coming from? The first thing that I would have wanted to do was fucking protect you because this life I live isn’t easy and the last thing I would want is you getting hurt by it. Y/N, why can’t you see how much I STILL love you?”
“I… need to leave.”
“What?! It’s six in the morning and you’ve hardly gotten any sleep. I don’t want you driving anywhere and we’re not done talking about this. Why are you running from me? What are you scared of? You know that I’m going to love and protect you and treat you how you deserve to be treated. If anything, I’m the one who should be mad at you because it honestly feels like you’re making it seem like I’m a second choice to Xavier when I for damn sure treat you better than he does.”
“That is NOT fucking fair and you KNOW it. What was I supposed to do? Wait for you? It's not like I intended on him doing that to me!”
“YES!”
“So now I’m being guilt tripped into falling in love with someone else? You had every single opportunity to reach out to me if you really wanted us to be together, but you didn’t. So, why the fuck did you get married in the first place?”
“How was I supposed to know that I would get a second chance? Or at least I’m trying to get a second chance with you, but you are making it so got damn difficult.”
“Then let me help make this easier for you since I’m so difficult. I’m leaving and don’t even bother fucking calling me again.”
“Baby, baby wait. Hold on, just please. Let’s back up for a second.” He pleaded with you as you got up and made your way into the bathroom, but he beat you to it and ended up blocking the doorway. You simply crossed your arms over your chest and looked at him.
“Jackman Thomas, get the fuck out of my way.”
“I’m not losing you for a second time!”
“Too late, because you already did.”
Once you had left the suite, Jack then took the long walk back to his room with Kelsey and was praying that she wasn’t awake quite yet. But once he opened the door, he silently cursed to himself because she was wide awake and looking at him.
“Where were you?” She asked without bothering to say good morning to him.
“I went for a walk, I wasn’t gone long.”
“Hmm, I need to ask you something.”
“Can it wait?”
“No, it can't wait. Who is Y/N to you?”
Now, he wasn’t quite sure what the two of you were anymore.
“I told you that we knew each other in high school, so what’s the big deal?” He asked before sitting on the edge of the bed.
“Well, I don’t like her and I don’t want you around her anymore.”
Jack whipped his head around to stare at her in disbelief.
“And who the hell are you to think that you can tell me who I can have around me? And how do you not like her when you don’t know her?”
“I’m your wife and she makes me uncomfortable and you should respect that.”
“She literally didn’t even do anything.”
“Were the two of you just friends in high school or more?”
“Why are you so pressed about this?”
“Answer my damn question.”
“I’m not answering shit until you lose that attitude. It’s like you just wake up and decide how the hell can I get on Jack’s nerves today?”
“You get on my last nerve, do you know how lucky you are to have me as your wife? Other men would jump at the opportunity to have me if I was single.”
“Then go ahead and be single, no one’s fucking stopping you. And I’m lucky? Explain that because I’m not quite understanding.”
“I just want to know what she is to you.”
“She’s my friend and she’s my ex-girlfriend. Are you happy now?”
“WAIT, your ex-girlfriend?!”
“Did I stutter? Now, I’m going to sleep if you don’t mind because I’m still tired.”
“We aren’t done with this!”
“Yes we are because I answered your question and since any man would be lucky to have you, go out and find them and stop bothering me.”
“Well she needs to get the message that you’re my husband and not hers.”
“Hmm, am I?”
“What the hell is wrong with you this morning? You act like I went out and cheated on you.”
“Kelsey, let’s not go there because you did and I took your ass back despite you doing that. But you best believe that if I had known on our wedding day what you had done, we would not be married right now. Truth be told, I should have left your ass at the altar if I knew.”
“I… I apologized about that and I regret it. Why are you still holding it against me?”
“Seriously? You literally cheated on me hours before we said our vows so you can save it.”
It had been over a month since you last talked to Jack and you had simply been going through the motions. You were upset how the two of you ended things, but still felt as if he was rushing you. You had been back to Louisville a few times since you were slowly moving things out of your house that you wanted to take with you and of course, Xavier hadn't noticed anything. Which you weren’t the least bit surprised by.
Urban had been calling you
Clay had been calling you
Neelam had been calling you
And you told each of them the same thing, for right now, you and him were done.
Jack called you nonstop for the first two weeks and then his calls just stopped altogether right along with the texts as well. Thinking about the situation, both of you could have handled the conversation differently and it didn’t have to end with you leaving. But as of right now, you were in a weird headspace. In order to not think too deeply about your feelings about the entire situation, you drowned yourself into working and uploading content to your TikTok that was centered around nursing and working as a CRNA.
Your best friend Taina who you also worked with could tell that something was bothering you and without a second thought you said yes to her asking you out for brunch one day that the two of you had off. You met in nursing school and also went on to get your CRNA certification together and she had been your rock through the entire mess that had been going down with Xavier. However, she didn’t know too much about you and Jack reuniting and after seeing your instagram post a while back, she made note to ask you about it but never did. So she figured now was her opportunity.
The two of you were sitting across from one another and you were sipping on your orange juice as she was eyeing you.
“Y/N….”
“Yes?”
“What has been going on because you haven’t been yourself lately. I get everything with Xavier, and I offered to cut his balls off and feed them to him, but you declined. However, I feel that it’s something else.”
“Hmm, been sleeping with my ex-boyfriend since March.” You casually told her as you were scanning the menu and trying to decide what you were going to eat.
“Hold on, back up. Which ex-boyfriend?” Tania asked because there had been a few of them when the two of you were in college.
“The one I was with when I was in Louisville.” You answered and suddenly her eyes went wide with a realization.
“Hmm, would his name happen to be Jack?”
“Not so loud!” You exclaimed as you shushed her, but all she did was smirk.
“Okay… so? How’s that going? When can I meet him?”
“Well we got into an argument and we haven’t talked to each other in about a month.”
“What? Why?”
“Long story short, both of us are supposed to get divorced and then be together, but it turned into an argument because he said he felt like I was hesitating even though he also has an entire wife.”
“But, let’s be real. What are you waiting for exactly?” Tania asked and all you did was look at her because it seemed like now you didn’t have an answer.
“Y/N, from what you’ve told me over the years about him, he is head over heels in love with you and he wants to be with you so kick Xavier’s ass to the curb and be with someone who you know is going to love you and treat you how you’re supposed to be treated.”
“You’re right, I just don’t know. I’ve gotten comfortable in this life as stupid as that may sound. I know I deserve better, but I cannot open my heart again because I’m scared. What if we break up and we truly end up hating each other? He truly does mean the world to me and I would never in a million years want to hurt him.”
“You say that, but however, the way you two left off with each other made me think that you did hurt him and hurt his feelings. Not saying that he didn’t do the same thing to you, but just talk it out with him. I’m sure he wants to hear from you. He is not Xavier and never will be.”
“I don’t know, he stopped calling me after the first two weeks when I didn’t answer and hasn’t called since.”
“Then you call him and see if he wants to talk. Y/N, the people around you want so much better for you and I’m sad that Xavier has you so brainwashed that you can’t see it.”
“There’s something else….” You started to say as you looked down and started to play with your bracelet.
“What is it?”
“I miss my period and think I might be pregnant.”
“I…. Y/N! When we leave here, the first thing you are going to do is call that man! And I want an update after you do.”
It had been a total of two hours that you had been staring at your phone contemplating on if you were going to pick it up and call Jack.
But once again you were scared. Scared that he was going to reject you and not want to have anything to do with you anymore. But, you knew that you had to try.
You decided to facetime him and it rang for a while before he finally answered.
When you saw him, your breath hitched in your throat and your heart was now beating a mile a minute as you were the first to speak.
“Hi.” Was all you said and you couldn’t quite read his expression.
“Did you need something?” He asked and skipped over the greeting entirely.
“I… just want to talk. I didn’t like how it ended the last time we saw each other.”
“I consistently tried to call you and talk to you for fourteen days, so why do you want to talk now?”
“Because I was mad at you. You were right… about some things and I just wasn’t quite ready to hear it.”
It was quiet for a few seconds as Jack was simply looking at you and you saw Clay walk behind him.
“Look, meet me on the tarmac at LAX around 7 tomorrow morning.” Jack finally spoke up and you looked at him with wide eyes.
“Wait, what?”
“A car will come and pick you up. Pack a few casual outfits, but other than that I got it handled. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Um, okay.”
Without another word the two of you hung up and you simply sat there unsure about what just happened. He seemed annoyed with you which you could understand, but obviously he still wants this just as bad as you do because he answered the phone. You sat there for a few more minutes before you hopped up to run into your walk-in closet to drag out your suitcase.
The next morning, you were now pulling up to the private jet in the car that Jack had sent for you and the butterflies you had been feeling the entire ride on the way here, had now been doubled. He obviously wanted to see you, because why else would he tell you to meet him here? The driver opened the door for you and helped you out of the car as your suitcase was loaded onto the plane. The first one to pop up and greet you was Neelam who quickly went in for a hug.
“I’m so happy you came. He definitely needs a little pick me up. He’s already on the plane so come on.” She said as she squeezed your hand and started to lead you to the steps of the jet, but you stopped walking and she turned back to look at you confused.
“Y/N? Are you okay?”
Your eyes simply started to water before giving her an answer, but she saw them and quickly reassured you.
“He’s missed you just as much as you’ve missed him. Don’t worry about what may have happened before, just move forward.
You nodded your head towards her as she went up the steps first as you followed behind her. Once the two of you were on the jet, she went straight to Urban and hit him across the back of his head because he had apparently been eating her fries which you laughed at.
Your eyes were searching for him and saw that he was simply in the back by himself gazing out the window and you started to make your way towards him. Once you reached him, he seemed to be deep in thought and didn’t notice you standing next to him until you ran your hand through his curls. Startled, he looked up at you before standing up and placing you in a giant bear hug.
“I’m sorry.” He quietly said as his head rested on top of yours.
“I am too.” You whispered as you held onto him tighter.
Once the two of you broke apart, he leaned down to place several kisses on your lips which you gladly accepted and that instantly put a smile on your face.
All you heard was whistling and turned around to see Clay and Urban smirking at both of you as Neelam was trying to eat the rest of her fries before Urban got to them.
“It’s about time the lovebirds reunited.”
Everyone got settled and it was soon time for takeoff. You and Jack were cuddled up with each other in the back with him stealing kisses every few minutes and everyone else was scattered throughout the plane.
“So, are you going to tell me where we’re going?” You finally asked when the plane had been in the air for a few hours at this point.
“Give me another kiss and I might tell you.”
All you did was shake your head at him before smirking and pulling his face towards yours to grant his wish.
“Okay, so now tell me.”
“You’re coming to Fashion Week with me.”
“Okay?”
“In Paris.” He added on and knew that your facial expression was about to be priceless.
Your eyes then went as big as saucers as you looked at him and all he did was laugh.
“And I got Givenchy to make you a dress that was specially made just for you. We’re getting there a day early just in case adjustments need to be made.”
“Babe…”
“I mean it when I said that I would do anything for you. I just want you to know that.”
You nodded your head at him to acknowledge what he said and he held you tighter as you laid your head on his chest.
“I have to tell you something.” You said as you glanced up at him and he nodded.
“I…. may or may not be pregnant. I missed my period, but I haven’t gotten a chance to take a test yet.” You whispered and all he did was lean down to place a kiss on your forehead.
“Whatever comes our way, we’re going to get through it together.”

I'll make it happen.
It was now day three of you being in Paris with Jack and the two of you were on the balcony of your hotel room sitting in a comfortable silence when you finally broke it.
“Are we ever going to talk about that conversation and what was said?” You asked him as you looked at him and he took a deep sigh before nodding.
“I didn’t mean to make you feel as if I was rushing you, that is literally the last thing I want. But, I also need to be honest about my feelings, if neither of us were married, we literally would have gone to Vegas in March and eloped.” Jack honestly said and you couldn’t help but to laugh.
“At the end of the day, I just want you to be happy. Aren’t you happy when you’re with me?” He asked you as you started to play with his Private Garden ring.
“Y/N, look at me.” Jack told you as he placed his finger underneath your chin to guide it upwards.
“Jack I….”
“No, you don't have anywhere to be right now, especially anywhere that he is. You are right where you need to be and that’s here with me. Why do you keep running back to him when we both know he's not any good for you? It should have always been the two of us.”
“It's not that simple.”
“But it is that simple, baby and we’ve been through this. I know you’re scared, but it’s going to be okay. I’m not him and will never be. Look me in my eyes and tell me right now that you don't have feelings for me and I promise to never bother you again after this trip is over.”
All you did was stay silent as you were trying to regulate your breathing with him being so incredibly close to you. Your heart was beating a mile a minute as he moved a curl out of your face. Your thoughts were running rampant remembering all those times when your body was under Jack’s and for the first time in many years, you felt that someone actually loved and cared for you.
But you've always felt that way when you were around him.
Jack chuckled to himself when you couldn’t answer him and simply placed a soft kiss on your lips which you eagerly returned. You had your back towards the street and was hoping that no one had seen the two of you.
“It sure is telling when I fly you out all over the world to experience this life with me when he can't even remember your fucking favorite color or your Starbucks order. Not to mention how you told me last night that you hadn't been fucked that good in years and you only feel that way towards me. Leave him so I can give you the life you deserved. The life that we talked about when we were in high school. Baby, let me take care of you the way I promised you that I would.”
You sat there as you listened to him and knew that he was good at keeping promises and keeping his word. So, what did you have to lose?
This is what you wanted and what you deserved.
“You've gotten so comfortable in being mistreated by him and that ends right now. So, are you going to give me an answer? Because you know you won't want for anything.”
“When I file for divorce, he's going to want half.”
“Let him have it. I have more than enough to take care of you.”
“So, we're really doing this?” You whispered as you placed your arms around him to hug him tighter.
“We’re doing this.” He answered while leaning down to place a kiss on your forehead.
“Hmm, the only question now is how your gold digging wife is going to take it.”
“She’ll get over it. She already knows that we dated because she was asking me about you and she kept nagging and of course she got an upset look on her face afterwards. But enough about that. When we both get back home, we’re filing for divorce.”
“And I can’t wait to be with you all the time.” You said as you looked up at him.
He leaned down to kiss you, but you stopped him, figuring that paparazzi were still out and about since it was Fashion Week.
“Babe, let’s go in the suite and off the balcony. We can’t risk anyone seeing us.”
“It’s fine, baby. No one is out here and it’s three in the morning. Just kiss me.”
You woke up in Jack’s arms because you heard your phone repeatedly going off in your ear and quickly heard his protests.
“Baby, turn it off.” You heard him say as he squeezed you tighter.
“I am, give me a minute!” You responded by laughing, but once you saw the numerous notifications your heart dropped.
Jack Harlow seen in Paris at Fashion Week making out with a mysterious woman who is NOT his wife Kelsey!
Your heart rate suddenly increased and you felt like it was getting harder to breathe. Jack noticed that you hadn’t laid back down yet and simply sat up to ask you what was wrong.
“Baby?”
All you did was shove your phone towards him and he quietly uttered ‘fuck’ under his breath.

PROMPTS FROM THE MANDALORIAN SEASON 2 *  assorted dialogue from the tv show, adjust as necessary
enjoy the fights.
they say it lives here. they say it sleeps.
i know you're good at killing.
where did you get the armor?
i'm sure you call the shots where you come from, but 'round here, i'm the one who tells folks what to do.
take it off. or i will.
i'm prepared to pay you for the information.
i'm not leaving my fate up to chance.
thank you for coming to me.
give it to me now, or i will peel it off your corpse.
you must promise you won't kill me.
i promise that you will not die by my hand.
that wasn't part of the deal.
you don't understand what it was like.
i've got an idea. get its attention.
maybe we can work something out.
they might be open to some fresh ideas.
i hope someday our paths will cross again.
we've heard the stories.
what am i supposed to do with this?
am i under arrest?
you might be in luck.
oh, stop your crying. you'll rust.
i'm not a taxi service.
i paraphrased.
what can i say? i'm an excellent judge of character.
i'll let you know if i see any.
how much will it cost me?
thank you for letting me know. i'll get right on it.
what the hell are you doing?
this was not a part of the deal.
if you hadn't guessed, we're in a tight spot.
that old thing's gonna break apart in this atmosphere.
are you sure you won't join us?
there's something i need to do.
this is more than i signed up for.
that planet is cursed. anyone who goes there dies.
i can lead you to one of their kind.
do you copy?
put some tea on. we'll be up in a minute.
i'll let you live.
we've been hitting them pretty hard.
this was the best you could do?
were you able to eliminate them?
looks like we made it. get ready for landing.
according to records, you're quite a soldier. we could really use you.
that was some pretty impressive flying.
can i at least buy you a drink?
i believe you two have met.
i'm surprised to see this place is still standing.
i'll take my chances down here.
we'll watch the doors.
can we talk business?
i'm only here for repairs.
you wanna come back here and try this? be my guest!
i'm sure we can work something out.
i cannot train him.
you've seen what he can do.
i must get back to the village.
i've seen him do things i can't explain.
show yourself. i've been expecting you.
you will learn nothing from me.
surrender, or face the consequences.
we must find a way to free them.
my price is high.
i believe this is your payment.
you made me a promise, and i held up my end.
your bounty hunter failed.
if you want my armor, you'll have to peel it off my dead body.
i give my allegiance to no one.
nice shot.
you look like you've just seen a ghost.
you may think you have some idea of what you're in possession of, but you do not.
it's all the same to these people.
hey, i'm just a realist. i'm a survivor, just like you.
let's get one thing straight. you and i are nothing alike.
everybody's got their line they don't cross until things get messy.
you did what you had to do.
everybody thinks they want freedom, but what they really want is order.
we got company. hang on.
you get to the roof. i'll drop in and pull you out.
hey, if you want to accuse me of something, then just say it.
let's just say they might recognize my face.
you're not going alone. i'm coming with you.
that's not how this works.
that was some nice shooting back there.
wish i could say it looked good on you, but i'd be lying.
i can't go in there.
are you a jedi?
that's who you belong with.
may the force be with you.
you're a disgrace to your armor.
i've heard your voice thousands of times.
i thought you were dead.
don't be afraid.
drop your weapon.
don't worry about me. just be careful in there.
i need your help.
you're sparing my life?
open the doors.
i suggest you shut your mouth.

can you write for a vox x fem! reader for an enemies to lovers?
for sure! Sorry this one’s a lil shorter, I have no clue how to write enemies to lovers.. but I tried for y’all! Also, Just for setting purposes, I made Reader the overlord of basically just, hell’s music. Thought that might be a good rivalry dhdkdjsid. :)
Battery-Powered Love
Vox X Fem!Overlord!Reader. words : 1k warning for slight manipulation.
Tumblr media
You let out an impatient sigh as you check your watch. You had been called to this stupid fucking meeting - which you didn’t want to go to, because god knows how much you hate the Vees. But not a single one had shown up - not even the one you could slightly tolerate,
Velvette. Not even Valentino - god knows he was up to other than torturing Angel - and you hoped to Satan that it would be anyone but Vox. Anyone but Vox would be okay. An assistant telling you that you got your schedules mixed. Maybe even just a flat out no show. That would be fine.
But just as you thought that - a swing of the door pulled you out of your thoughts, and as you looked up, just to your luck, the flat-screen TV of a man you loved despised more than you’d ever be able to express in a business setting was greeting you with the smuggest, ugliest, most shit-eating grin you’d seen on his face in a while. This meant one of two things. Bad news, you owed him something, or He wanted something from you and was trying to play nice.
“Good Afternoon, My Friend!” He said as he pulled out a chair opposite to you, resting his clasped hands on the table, putting on that insufferably fake classy act on. Like he didn’t want to shoot a bullet through your dead stare. Because he believed in reputation. Having a reputation in hell is like having a designer bag to carry your groceries. You don’t need it, no one actually cares if you have a one, but it makes you feel more special. You grimaced.
“You’re already ten minutes late, Vox.” You said with a sigh, putting your feet up on the table lazily, leaning back with a tilt of your head, arms crossed to your chest. “Get on with it. I actually have things to do.” You snarled out, sighing as you leaned your head back on the chair, refusing to actually look him in his digital eyes, opting to stare at the stupid ceiling instead.
“Well, you are quite forward today, aren’t you?” He said with a small chuckle, trying to suck up his own ego for his professional reputation. He may have power, but you hold at least a quarter of his everything under your own music. He swallows thickly before continuing, adjusting his bow tie and straightening out.
“As you know, Alastor is back in town. So we- “ he started with bated breaths, before you promptly interrupted him with a snort. “Okay, I’m gonna stop you right about there.” You said with a chuckle as you let your eyes fall back on him, raising your eyebrows, tilting your head. “I am not getting involved with him. I have records to sell. I have an afterlife to live, until at the very least the next extermination.” You said with a heavy sigh, pulling your feet off the table and standing up, hands still crossed tight over your chest.
“The reason I’m not dead is because I can recognize when someone can fucking kill me, Vox.” You continued, making your way to the door, turning back to look at him while you spoke. “If you expect me to-“ and it’s your turn to get cut off as he stands up as well, doing his off-putting electricity thing, teleporting from the security camera right in front of the doors, blocking your path.
“Tsk-tsk-tsk, you’re so quick to assume.” He chuckles, rolling his eyes playfully. “I don’t want you to go and fight him, darling.” You grimace as he starts with the pet names, rolling your eyes and staring at the floor, refusing to look him in the face again. “I want you to silence out his… propaganda.” He hums as you try to walk away from his bickering and nonsense, only to have him teleport straight back in front of you using the overhead light on the ceiling, causing you to stumble back slightly.
“That’s getting involved. A path to getting my screams played for everyone in this circle of hell to hear? No.” You say flatly, grimacing at him as he chuckles darkly, leaning on one hip as he looks you up and down, smiling. “But there’s so much we could offer you.” He starts as you try to walk away from him again, just to bump straight first into his chest all over again.
“Maybe you could become one of the Vees. Valentino, Velvette, Vox, Y/N… you just have to think of a new, catchier name.” He says with a small sarcastic giggle, leaning down and looking at you with those stupid droopy eyes he always used when he wanted something out of you. The reason you always refused to look at him properly. You snapped your head away quickly, running for the door.
Running straight back into him.
“You can’t just try to fucking - seduce me into doing your bidding! Jesus - fuck!” You groaned as you ran straight back into him, starting to fall onto your back, before he grabbed your hand, pulling you up and against him, one hand tightly on the curve of your waist, smiling down at you.
“I’m not trying to seduce you for this in particular.” He said as you looked up at him with wide eyes and a small panicked expression, trying to think of a way out as blush spread across your cheeks, trying to pull your hand away from his to no avail. “I have much better reasons for seducing you, love.” He hums out, and you shut your eyes tight.
Don’t fall for his trap. For your own sake. Don’t.
“C’mon, give me a try, love” he purrs out, and you decide you at the very least have to assert some sort of dominance in this situation - you can’t get your way out of his terrifying grips - you can’t stop looking in his eyes - and so you do the last thing you wanted to - or maybe the thing you’ve been wanting to do ever since he walked in.
You pulled him down by his arm, lips pressed right against his, almost getting shocked by the electricity flowing rapidly though his veins, his own eyes wide - before closing them slowly. That was the absolute last thing he expected you to do - but he isn’t complaining. Tugging your harder again him, smiling against your lips. You pulled back, breathing heavily.
“I’m guessing that’s a yes, darling.”

How do you think Naoya would be as a teacher at Jujutsu Tech? This idea came to me when I was about to fall asleep and I have not been able to stop thinking about it, especially with your portrayal of Naoya.
It’d probably be more auish. Tbh I could see Y/N being a teacher their first(maybe like a year or two) before Naoya(probably against the wishes of his family) decides to teach their too in hopes of getting closer to Y/N 🤭
I feel like Naoya would be like kinda a good teacher but also bad at it is as well. Especially since he’s not there because he has some ‘passion for educating the youth’. I feel like he’d be good in the sense that his students are gonna have the skills they need fight these curses and stuff just…he’s not nice in his teaching. Part of it is probably because he also initially wouldn’t feel a desire to bond or connect with his students.
That is until Y/N steps in. Maybe she thinks that he’s not used to teaching and just needs some pointers on how to get his point across without being harsh to his students. Maybe Y/N decides to give him like after hours teaching lessons. I can see Naoya being slightly peeved having something about him being criticized but if he’s head over heels still, I could see him swallowing his pride and accepting just so he can have one on one time with Y/N(A win is a win am I right lol).
I can then see Y/N suggest they do joint training or something so she can be there to help if he finds himself struggling or whatever(idk) and like maybe his students are noticing that Naoya isn’t that bad and maybe they even notice the painfully obvious pining he has for Y/N. And seeing that kinda humanizes him for them. I can see his students growing less intimidated, maybe even being able to try to start cracking jokes with him and just genuinely act like goofy, relaxed kids around him. Maybe they’re like ‘We gotta help Naoya-Sensei get with Y/N-Sensei’.
Idk this just gave me such cute and fluffy vibes for Naoya gradually caring for his students and the cute moments him and Y/N would have as teachers
Hello!!
Thank you so much for sending me this ask!! I love me some highschool au... but I never thought of it from a teacher's perspective!!! I might write more of it in the future, probably after I tire myself out from the student POV.
Until then, I hope you like this little drabble I wrote :> Naoya is, in all universes, a jerk. But a dork at the same time.
warnings: fluff. naoya is a tiny bit of a jerk, nothing too crazy tho. as expected of him.
Happy reading!!!
Tumblr media
Naoya lost track of you after graduating. Whether because he got too busy with his missions, or because deep inside him, he thought that his chances with you were effectively gone the moment he left school.
Still, he hoped that one day your paths would cross once again, providing him another chance to do what he couldn’t do back then and make you his.
Fortunately, that moment would come the moment he learned of your whereabouts by unwittingly eavesdropping on an insignificant conversation between his assistant and another equally mundanesorcerer he was assigned to work with on that occasion.
“Did you hear? Jujutsu High has a new teacher.”
“New teacher? That’s weird. Didn’t know they were hiring—who is it?”
“You’d never guess—Y/N!”
“Y/N? Hinata’s sister? Wasn’t she like… working out of the country, or something?”
“I think so. She must’ve gotten bored of it, there’s not much work outside of Japan, you know. Though I’m surprised she’d settle for a teaching job; isn’t that…”
“Tedious? Yeah. She must be really passionate about it.”
As Naoya recalled, having heard directly from you how you’d always desired to be a teacher, for the responsibility of molding the future of the community appeared to be highly fulfilling to you, and such, a duty you wished to help develop if ever given the opportunity.
It wasn’t his dream, he genuinely couldn’t care less about anyone else but you, that’s for sure…
But if this is what he needed to do to get close to you, then he knows what he must.
Safe to say, the school was pleasantly surprised to receive Naoya’s demand application for whatever teaching position was open, ready to work as soon as possible.
Because of his prestige, the rutinary interview was promptly skipped, they’d still give him the basic training to give him a basic idea of what was required of him, but outside of that, a few days after he showed interest in the job, he got it.
And so, he begins, working as the type of teacher many only expected of him: unapproachable, hard to understand, impatient, and most of all, genuinely indifferent to his students.
Some gave him the benefit of the doubt, hoped that Naoya’s unpredictability would work on their favor…
But they were proven wrong when all these issues began to arise, problems that were dealt with by the students either skipping class, opting to fail it and going to summer school, hopefully with an entirely different teacher.
Transferring schools, if not dropping out altogether…
Or venting their frustrations out. Those that weren’t too keen on sacrificing their grades (that much) would resort to the only other sensei they felt most comfortable with to do so—you.
“Naoya-sensei is horrible, he spends all day sulking about us not being good, frequently calling out all the mistakes we make, but then, he doesn’t help us!”
“Why was he even hired?! Weren’t there any other better candidates?!”
“I wouldn’t say that…” you murmur, an attempt to stop them from saying anything else that might get them into trouble if heard by the wrong person… as well as from spreading lies, for a job like this one, especially amongst the sorcery community, isn’t one many would consider highly sought after. Genuinely there might’ve not been another candidate. Less a better one.
Not everyone liked the idea of a selfless career, one that often went unrecognized, after all. So, for the arrogant, overconfident heir of the Zen’in known to not care about anything beyond his interests…
Well, a surprise could only be an understatement.
Though as unexpected as it was, you wouldn’t deny that seeing this new side of him was kind of nice. Like it humanized him—or whatever little you knew of him anyways, since he often kept to himself, even when working alongside as teacher, he just… didn’t approach you.
But, well, it’s not like he did otherwise back then either. He wasn’t much of a social person. Yet, he always managed to amuse you; maybe through the fact that he seemed particularly… calmer with you.
Either way, you were probably the only other person that thought he was deserving of having friends, people that were always willing to help when struggling, just as he was doing right now with his students.
So, after brief consideration, and ignoring the warnings from fellow teachers and friends alike, you take the first step.
“Hey, Naoya!” You greet, walking over to his table, the same one where he’d always eat lunch—alone. Thankfully, if you were lucky enough, that would change today. “Do you mind if I sit with you?”
“Why?” Naoya asks back immediately after, the nature of his question making you blink, slightly upsetting you.
While his response came out as an indirect rejection, which you would’ve taken as such if you didn’t have other motives… his words were actually meant as a kind of a personal demand, desperate to know why you decided to approach him right then and there, of all places, when there were much better options?!
Certainly, having his first official conversation with you in the teacher’s lounge wasn’t on the top of his list; even worse for a date…
But if this is where it’ll happen, he’ll take it.
“I mean—sure, take a seat. It’s not like anybody else is going to.” Responds, as nonchalantly as he could to appear calm and collected, cool. The type of guy he thinks you’d like, only to have the contrary effect.
«Well, nobody said this was going to be easy.» you think to yourself.
“How is school treating you?” You begin after taking a seat next to him, though you don’t really begin to eat; appetite effectively replaced with anxiety. What if Naoya chews you out just for asking? Again?? “You’ve been here a few weeks now, is everything up to your liking?”
“No. It’s horrible. I hate it.” He assesses, with an unforeseen speed that surprised him as well. But that only helps to show how comfortable he is with you, even when the last time he saw you had been years by that point. To be near you always puts him on a good mood.
Naoya always felt like you were the only one that truly understood him, after all. And that’s something that not even time could replace.
“Oh. That’s… awful.” You murmur, surprised by his honesty. You suspected he was having it bad... but not like this! “Why, if I may ask?”
“The students are stupid.”
“Don’t—Don’t say that Naoya!” you gasp, he chuckles at your reaction. «How cute.» he thinks.
“Ah, so there’s not a single student that has made you lose your cool, Y/N-sensei?” he takes this opportunity to tease you, you frown.
“Even if there was, it’s unprofessional for me to say so.” You respond. “A teacher must not show any kind of preference, or disregard for their students.”
Naoya remains quiet, getting the feeling that his teasing actually ended up irritating you even further, instead of smoothing things out. But ignorant on how to bridge that gap, he simply goes back to his food, hoping for a miracle: for the earth to swallow him whole, or for you to prove you weren’t that upset. Whatever happened first.
It’ll be neither.
“I can help you, if you’d like.” You quietly offer. “With getting along with your students, and all that…”
“…What do you mean?” Naoya asks, returning his gaze to you.
“Don’t tell anyone this, but… the other day my students told me they were struggling a bit to understand your lessons.” You confess. “They said they were afraid of asking you things because you tend to lash out, and so…”
“Ah, did they?” Naoya scowls. “It’s not my fault they can’t seem to understand basic things!”
“They’re trying their best. They’re just kids, after all, lacking the experience we have.” You explain. “Especially yours, which I already know is quite impressive!”
His heart skips a beat, and that little compliment was enough to put him in a good mood all over again! If only he could spend the rest of his life hearing you refer to him so adorably…
“It’s just a matter of knowing how to transform your skills into lessons. Not everybody has the talent to be a good teacher, and that’s nothing to be ashamed of.” You go on, with such passion Naoya couldn’t dismiss—you really liked this job, didn’t you? “Let me help you so you don’t go through the same struggles as me.”
A part of him wanted to feel offended by your words, angry that you’d call him incompetent in the job he clearly never showed interest in, simply taking it with the hopes of getting close to you (which he failed in for various… excuses)—a sentiment that only grew bigger when also acknowledging that his students had spoken badly of him behind his back.
What, were they too afraid of confronting him? They weren’t babies, pathetic…
But another part of him wanted him to forget all this in favor of taking this for what it was, what he wanted: an opportunity to get closer to you.
It’s easy to guess which one he took. Or more like, which one he accepted with utmost importance. Naoya is still Naoya, and his anger wasn’t to disappear so easily… but he was willing to compromise.
Thus, your mission to make Naoya into a better teacher begins! With tutoring classes taking part either after school, or the weekend, depending on the necessity of your intervention—values judged by the feedback from your students.
And Naoya was willing to play along too, (much to your relief) although he did so by thinking this was the closest thing he could get as a date with you, hoping to get the real deal further down the road…
But of course, he’d underestimated your dedication to helping him, soon realizing that the only things happening during those moments were either going over and over again your notes, trying to figure out what teaching method would better suit Naoya, as well as preparing his classes for the week and the activities to accompany them—and nothing more.
He was disappointed, yet, but not enough to give up. Such determination led him to agree that the best way to keep this arrangement going on as long as possible (until he was able to properly ask you out, or for you to fall in love) was by continuing to fail as a teacher, dump any help/information you’ve given him to start from 0 once again.
Which, surprisingly, worked. But at the expense of your frustrations for his seeming lack of advancement.
You’d never disclose your emotions to him, wanting to avoid making him feel this was some kind of burden (especially when you were the one to suggest it) but… he was not making it any easy.
It was well known that he was a difficult person; everyone always made sure to remind you of that. And yet, you still gave him the benefit of the doubt, you really did!
But like all things, it wouldn’t take long before you end up circling back to the notion that perhaps you misunderstood his real purpose with the job. Or even worse, maybe he did like the job, he just preferred tormenting you far better.
If so… then there was nothing else to do. If Naoya didn’t want to improve, then you wouldn’t waste your time anymore.
“Hey, Y/N, where are you going?” He asks upon noticing you cleaning up after your things, instead of setting them for his class, just like you’ve done almost every day up to that point. “We’re not doing it today?”
“Oh, um… No. I just—I just remembered I had something else already planned for today, sorry.” And for the next day, and the day after…
A whole week in fact, just enough time for Naoya to realize that you indeed had given up on him.
And who wouldn’t? He was being an absolute prick towards all the efforts you made to help him! Regardless of whose idea it was, the fact that he just discarded them like they didn’t mean anything, without the decency to tell you he wasn’t interested in them anymore, all for a selfish, personal reason…!
That wasn’t to be the worst part, however; what hurt the most was that Naoya still claimed to care for you, even when he went on to do all these dismissivethings, in his mind, he truly, still believed he was doing the right thing! That somehow this would lead to you developing feelings for him and getting together!
Yet, your departure would serve as a much-needed critical wake-up call; the perfect detonator for him to finally open his eyes and realize that he was doing was not only stupid, but highly disrespectful to you, the woman he proclaimed to have feelings for.
He hated seeing you upset with him, the light of your eyes dimmed out for something he knew you were highly passionate about.
But what he hated the most was admitting he was the cause of it.
Thus, having his work cut out for him, he begins to do what he should’ve done: apply your knowledge to improving his classes, and taking everyone by surprise when it actually begins to work!
Naoya simply becomes that less impatient teacher, yet willing to call out mistakes with the purpose of helping students, not just demeaning them. And not only that, but his classes are also met with astonishing grades, proof that they’re actually learning!
An advancement that naturally leads the students to grow eager to see what other cool thing Naoya-sensei will teach them this time around, or if lucky enough, help them create a technique no one else has ever thought of before! His creative talents for such things is not one they could pass!!
But most importantly, beyond the improvement of his teaching abilities, he also got your acknowledgment. The unexpected surprise that Naoya not only managed to commit to what you taught him, but that he was actually listening all along…
Though feeling recognized by your efforts, you were mostly elated to see his relationship advance with his students at the end of the day, as seen in the somewhat fond way they’d speak of him whenever in conversation with you.
“Naoya-sensei is much nicer this time around.” One would say.
“He actually offered to help me if I was struggling with my training, can you believe it?!”
“I wonder what happened to make him change? Do you think it was Y/N-sensei? They were seen together quite a lot…”
“Oh my god, maybe he likes her.”
“Don’t be silly, I don’t think Naoya-sen—oh my god he does.”
At their silence and wide eyes when the classroom door opens, you quickly turn around to see the culprit behind their reaction, both curious and worried; was it an angry parent? Wouldn’t be the first time something like that happens…
No. It was much worse, actually. Or perhaps better? Either way, you’d end up reacting the same way when realizing it was Naoya standing by the frame; and not only that, but he was accompanied with a bouquet of colorful flowers that with just a simple glance you managed to understand were for you.
And, well, him walking straight to you might’ve been a dead giveaway as well.
“Nao—Naoya, what are you—”
“I wanted to thank you.” He says, handing the flowers to you. “For… all the help you’ve given me.”
“What—what are you even talking about??” you laugh nervously, flustered by his gesture, embarrassed by the endless pairs of eyes on you.
“For helping me with my students.” Naoya goes on. “I wouldn’t have been able to do it without you.”
“O—oh, it was nothing!” you gasp. “Really, you don’t need to do—”
“Come on, Y/N-sensei!!” one would cry.
“Naoya-sensei went through the trouble of getting them for you!! The least you could do is accept them!”
“Isn’t he your type, anyways?? Accept the flowers, sensei!”
“Oh, that’s so dreamy… I wish I had a boyfriend that got me flowers!”
“No way, how come sensei gets a girlfriend before me???”
“Wait a minute.” You breathe, your student’s words making something in your mind click. “Were you—were you guys behind this?!”
The group lets out a chuckle, giving you enough of an answer.
“What?! Since when?!”
Easily, after noticing how his gaze lingered on you a bit longer than usual whenever you were around.
Of course, ever since you essentially stopped talking to him, he’s been nothing but a miserable puppy trying to gain your attention once again. Naoya hoped that by becoming a better teacher would do the trick, and you did approach him from time to time, but alas, it wasn’t as much as he wanted it to be.
He was ready to give up too, planning on quitting as soon as the school year was over… until his students stepped in to help.
“Naoya-sensei, you need to be more assertive in your approach!”
“Excuse me?” He frowns. “I’m the teacher here, you know?”
“We’re not talking about that!”
“What are you talking about, then?”
“You like Y/N-sensei, don’t you?” one declares, making Naoya’s cheeks burn up.
“That’s not for you to discuss!”
“Your reaction was real convincing, sensei.”
“…What are you even planning to get out of this?”
“Nothing! We just think it’s sweet that someone is interested in Y/N-sensei, she deserves that much after being so nice to us!” They grin. “And while we wouldn’t normally consider you to be the best candidate for her, something tells us she likes you too!”
“Huh? What? Why? Did she tell you??”
“No, but you just confirmed our suspicions!” They laugh, Naoya rolls his eyes. “As we were saying, we normally would’ve chosen someone else to matchmake our sensei with, like Nanami-san, though he’s rarely around. Or Gojo-sensei, but he’s too weird for her…”
“I don’t—I don’t want to hear about other men.” Naoya warns.
“Oh, so you’re the jealous type? Makes sense though, you’re always very… explosive.”
“Say that again and you’re going to spend the weekend here” He scowls.
“Alright, alright, sensei!! We were just joking. Anyways, it’s clear that you reformed, and with that, we’ve officially declared you adequate to date Y/N-sensei!!”
“The issue here is making her like you…”
“You’re making me sound unlikable.” Naoya frowns.
“I mean, wasn’t she upset for days after she was last seen with you?”
Naoya’s heart sinks to his stomach upon hearing that. He has no way to deny he wasn’t responsible for that—in fact, he was well aware it was him.
“You gotta make her like you. See you as a potential partner and not a fellow coworker.”
“…And how can I do that?” Naoya never thought he’d be receiving love advice from one of his students, in fact, a part of him tells him he probably shouldn’t… but after running out of ideas, he guesses why the hell not? Besides, they’re willing, he might as well.
“By being attentive and thoughtful. Take into consideration what Y/N-sensei is always boasting about!! We can already name a few off the top of our head! Surely you can do so too, Naoya-sensei; you two have been much closer than us, after all…”
«Like the flowers on the main garden» Which you never failed to bring to his attention whenever walking to class, admiring how colorful and pretty they were, silently hoping that one day you’d be gifted ones, if ever lucky enough.
“But how do I even approach her? Nothing ever seems to be the right time, she’s always busy.” «Either with work, or avoiding me…»
“Now that just sounds like an excuse” they shake their head crossing their arms. “Just do it when she’s in class! She’s not going to be able to leave there! Besides, that would be 100% romantic, I’m sure of it!! But don’t try to get out of this one by having someone else do it for you, though. It has to be you. That’s the only way for this to work.”
“Huh?? Why not??” Naoya was sure considering it, he hated the thought of being public about something so intimate. Besides, isn’t a secret admirer the type of thing women like…?
“Do you want her to think it was Kusakabe-sensei, perhaps? He was flirting with her the other day…”
That was more than enough for Naoya to swallow the embarrassment of doing such gesture before the students, fast forward to the moment where he walked into your classroom, standing a mere few feet away from you and your flustered face, evidence of your acceptance for his gift—welcoming his efforts.
“Th—thank you, Naoya.” You murmur, finally taking the bouquet in your hands and leaning down to take in their sweet scent—freshly cut, making you smile. “These flowers… they’re beautiful!”
Naoya’s chest tightens at the sight of your happy face, proud that he was responsible of said reaction, and such, making him smile as well.
“Does that mean you two are dating now?!” One of your students claims.
“No!” you gasp, looking up to Naoya. “I mean…”
“Not without a date, we aren’t.” Naoya adds. “Dinner? Please let me make it up to you for the horrible way I treated you.”
“…Yes.”
Naturally, your students never let go of the opportunity to pester the two after that. Whether to know where you went to as a date, if Naoya-sensei got you more gifts (insisting that you’d demand for greater things! He was the heir of the Zen’in, surely, he could afford more!! — you declined their suggestions)
But most importantly, if the two were finally together, because after seeing what the two did: from secretly meeting after class, face red whenever he got too close to you to whisper something seemingly innocent, to accompany you to your room… It was nothing but obvious—they just needed confirmation.
Or for you to stop acting like he wasn’t you boyfriend already!
“Shut up, everyone! Can’t you see sensei’s boyfriend is coming?”
“He’s not— he’s not my boyfriend.” You fretted one too many times, a response everyone could see through, a blatant lie considering the heat on your cheeks, or the excitement in your face, eager to see him again after being apart for soooo long (just a few hours. He’s literally next door to you.)
“Aaaaah, as if!! You’re all red!”
“Stop it, already! Or you’ll all have extra homework!”
And that seemed to be enough to quiet them for the following days, at least until you and Naoya had the misfortune of being caught kissing each other at the teacher’s lounge by an innocent student that simply wished to discuss some matters regarding their last exam.
While they promised to keep what they saw a secret, it really wouldn’t take long before everyone heard of your new status with Naoya, and as expected of the students, they’d begin to tease and cheer for their favorite couple whenever walking by.
No amount of naivety, feigning ignorance could help you out of this situation anymore, though Naoya no longer planned on doing so.
“Well, they already know the truth.” He smiles, intertwining his hand with yours. “Might as well commit to it.”
“Oh, Naoya—Do you think they’ll ever stop? I don’t mind them doing that, I just worry they might get in trouble with the school…”
Naoya laughs, kissing your cheek; no matter the situation, his gestures always make you feel adored, safe.
“I don’t think so—but if they do, I’ll show them to not mess with my students.” He assures you. “Come on now, love. We’re running late to class.”
Never in a million years would you have expected for the follow to happen:
First, Naoya to have feelings for you. Though you always liked him, he often appeared… distant, giving you the impression he solely wanted to pursue his career as a sorcerer. Or perhaps he already had someone else to be his partner, considering his role amongst the Zen’in, so he didn’t need to look beyond that—a thought that greatly hurt you, enough to let those feelings slowly die out eventually.
Secondly, for his feelings to motivate him into joining Jujutsu High as a teacher just to get close to you—yes, he eventually told you. Were you surprised? Very. But mostly impressed by his determination, flustered to understand he liked you that much he was willing to do one of the things he didn’t like!
Which leads to the third point. After hearing his initial purpose on becoming a teacher, you genuinely expected him to leave the job after the first year, but turns out, he’s actually quite fond of being one now!
And while there were still moments where his impatience got the best of him, it was still visible that he truly learned to enjoy spending time with his students, mostly teasing them, but outside of that, he’s found satisfaction in being recognized as someone reliable with their knowledge, talented, worthy of admiration! And helping them become that same person too.
Things were slowly beginning to fall in place for you and Naoya, a moment of absolute bliss that promised to last a lifetime.
Guess all both had to worry about now was the reaction the students would inevitably have when learning you’re planning to get married—if the titles of boyfriend and girlfriend were enough to evoke such havoc… you could only imagine what would happen with husband and wife.
Or when learning you were to have a baby.
But all in due time.
Tumblr media
Imagine if they take Naomi to class that would be WILD. I like to think Naoya eventually works as something else (with better pay I mean) so Y/N can keep doing what she likes but more comfortably.
Also the students matchmaking YN lmao and NAOYA BEING THE RIGHT CANDIDATE it's like DAMN were the other really that bad??? I'm sure one of them even thought of setting her up with the director 💀 she would be like "ew no, he was my teacher!!!" she's just so nice to them, they want to see her happy!!
Naoya's puppy eyes whenever observing Y/N from a distance were the true MVP, if it weren't for his unavoidable sadness, I don't think anything would've happened. They really saw him mope around and were like "damn, he must really like Y/N if he's like that..."
Anyways, this was really cute to write. I actually wanted to put Naoya as a teacher first and then Y/N joined, but it kind of flipped your request around, so this is what I went with :>
I hope you liked it!! And thank you so much for sending in this adorable request ❤️ Now, take care, and hope to see you soon!!

"Chrollo, i know this sound unreasonable, but.... can we please have a cat?..."
The man in question pauses, shirt not even halfway buttoned as he slowly turns. It feels like an eternity has passed by the time his back faces the mirror and his eyes land on you. His scrutinising gaze quickly turns into a questioning one when he raises a brow, the expression being the most emotional one you’ve seen in a while.
Truthfully, you didn’t want to resort to this. Your hesitance and nervousness is evident in the way your weight shifts from one foot to the other and how your hands fidget behind your back. Chrollo’s eyes briefly go over the nervous ticks you display before he smiles, a teasing reply on the tip of his tongue.
“Why? Do I not give you sufficient attention?”
The sight of his chest from his unbuttoned shirt would have made you more uncomfortable if you hadn’t been mentally going over possible responses from ever since you woke up. Your brain is frankly fried and you just wanted to get over with the request before his surprisingly good mood turned into a sour one.
“A cat would be cuter,” you counter. “I don’t see what’s wrong with it. It’s common to have a pet. So why not?”
“I haven’t said no yet. I’m simply asking why.”
Ah yes. There it is. ‘All I am asking is why do you want another living being under the same roof when you have me? And yes, my authority is absolute, so there is still room for negotiation while I have not declined your request. Make use of this time wisely.’ You can practically hear it, even see the smug smile he sports in his mind. Honestly, if you could, you would’ve brought home a stray cat and forced Chrollo to let you keep it.
Alas, fate is cruel and you must go down the path of convincing this fiend. But it wouldn’t hurt to turn his game onto him, would it?
“And I,” you scoff, “am asking you why not? What’s wrong with having a cat?”
The bastard’s smile widens. “You said it yourself. It sounds unreasonable. I’m simply asking you why you want one. There are reasons why people covet things. Surely you have a reason as well.”
“Look,” you step towards him, stopping just two steps away and inside his personal space. It’s an action he loves, so you might as well make good use of it. “Cats are the perfect pets. They’re small, quiet and fluffy. I’m sure my mental health will thank you if you let me have one.”
He crosses his arms, still not convinced. “Your mental health is perfectly fine.”
“You don’t know that.”
“I know you better than anyone else alive.”
“No, you don’t.”
“I do.”
“Let me have a personal feline.”
“Convince me and I’ll let you.”
“Pets are statistically proven to increase bonding between household members.”
“I believe we’re already quite nicely bonded.”
“Last night, you were complaining about how I always supposedly keep you at arm’s length.”
“I don’t see how a cat would fix that.”
Honestly, you’re starting to regret requesting anything of him in the first place. Chrollo’s latest reply is met with silence on your part and a frown you threw in just for good measure. The man sighs, shakes his head and takes one step closer to you.
You simultaneously take one step back, maintaining the distance. Luckily, he doesn’t frown at you like he did last night.
“You’re asking for something that will have a considerable price to pay,” he states. “Are you sure you’re willing to spend so much on such a triviality?”
You know he’s messing with you, and you won’t back down. “Please? I promise to not let it get in the way even while travelling. I’ll take care of it properly and-”
“You have until tonight. Play your cards right and I might consider it.” There it is, the smug look you envisioned on his face earlier. “Besides, you should know that it might disappear overnight if you end up… misbehaving.”
Perhaps there’s still hope and the cat will scratch him on a daily basis.

That Lovin' Feelin' - Goose
Pairing: Nick "Goose" Bradshaw / Mitchell! Fem! OC | Reader
Word Count: 4.3k
Warnings: Intense Mutual Pining, Obliviousness, Suggestive Language, Second Person ("You") POV but No Use of Y/N
This work, all of my other works, and my entire blog are 18+ Only.
Summary: You may or may not have a big fat crush on your brother's best friend. And Goose may or may not have a big fat crush on you. Luckily for both of you, Maverick is completely oblivious.
[Reader is mentioned to be a woman, but there is no description of anything appearance wise. Reader is Maverick's twin sister and a nurse at the naval hospital.]
A.N. Set during Top Gun (the O Club Scene). In this work, let's just imagine that Goose and Carole never crossed paths and Carole is off living her best life elsewhere. Absolutely no shade to Carole, just wanted some Goose love. And I guess sorry Bradley for wiping away your existence.
Part 2 Part 3
Master List
Tumblr media
It was a sunny, warm day in Miramar and you just wanted some peace and quiet on your day off. But there was no such thing as a quiet day off when your horrifically annoying twin brother was in town to attend TOP GUN. Just as you flipped to a new page, you heard the distinct sound of Goose’s car pulling up your short driveway.
And three seconds later, the back door opened and Maverick stepped out.
“There you are,” he stated, holding the door open for Goose.
“Yes, I was, in fact, missing from my own house. Thank you for finding me,” you muttered, not even glancing up from your book. “And aren’t you two supposed to be at training right now?”
“It was just introductions,” Maverick replied, dropping into the seat across from you.
“Pete Mitchell, if you dare put your dirty boots on my coffee table,” you warned him, picking your head up from the book. Maverick’s foot hovered just an inch above the coffee table until Goose pushed it aside so that he could sit down in the other seat. “Why are you even here? You have your own houses, go do stupid shit there.”
“We were going to go to lunch and because I’m a nice brother who remembered that you have today off, I decided to stop over here to ask you if you wanted to come,” Maverick replied, gesturing innocently to himself. “And this is the thanks I get?”
“Pass,” you huffed, turning back to your book.
“Mav will pay,” Goose stated, causing you to slowly pick your head up.
“Well, now you’re speaking my language.”
Maverick scoffed and nudged Goose in the side before standing up from his chair. You shared a small smile with Goose before turning to your brother.
“We leave in five minutes. Come on, I’m hungry,” Maverick replied, urging you to your feet. “Get dressed into real people clothes.”
“Real people clothes?” you scoffed, glaring over at Maverick. “Hey, Pete, I read something quite interesting in this book that might interest you.”
“What?”
You pulled out your middle finger from behind your book, earning another eye roll from Maverick. He waved his hand dismissively and headed inside, undoubtedly to raid your fridge even though you were about to head out to lunch.
“Who pissed in his cornflakes this morning?” you asked, slowly getting to your feet.
“I think one of the other pilots threw him off a bit,” Goose replied, sending you a smile that had your heart fluttering. “I wouldn’t worry about it.”
“Alright,” you agreed, nodding slowly. “Thanks, Goosie.”
“Anytime.”
Goose got up from his seat and turned towards the door. You thanked Goose as he held the door open for your before darting inside, trying to hide your ridiculously awkward behavior from him. Walking quickly to your bedroom, you closed the door and leaned against it for a moment.
“Really smooth,” you scolded yourself, shaking your head. “One of these days, he’s going to say something. And you’re going to be fucked. And not in the way you want to be.”
It wasn’t like you planned to have an uncontrollable schoolgirl crush on your brother’s best friend. You didn’t ask for it. It just happened. And you tried to push it out of your mind—you went on other dates and saw other guys—but the second that Nick Bradshaw walked back into Miramar, it was like all of that personal growth just went out the window.
Thankfully, Goose was too nice to say anything about it. And Maverick was too arrogant and self-centered to notice the looks that you threw in Goose’s direction. But one of these days, Goose was going to say something and Maverick was going to be pissed at you.
As if you needed more problems in your life.
Tossing your book onto your bed, you walked over to your drawers and pulled out a simple tee shirt and a pair of jean shorts fit for the hot summer weather. Quickly pulling on a pair of beaten-up Converse, you grabbed your purse and headed out into the main part of your house, where Goose and Maverick were waiting for you.
“Alright, I’m ready to go.”
“Finally,” Maverick sighed, hopping off the counter.
You rolled your eyes at Maverick before turning to grab your keys off the hook. Pulling the set of car keys out of the way, you grabbed your house keys and moved to shove them into your purse. But when the edge of the key ring caught on the zipper of your purse, the keys dropped to the ground.
“Dammit,” you muttered, bending down to grab them.
Goose, meanwhile, who was standing right behind you, quickly averted his gaze as the denim of your shorts rode up just a little higher than normal. He knew from personal experience that if he didn’t look away immediately, he wasn’t going to look away. And Maverick could be a little slow, but if Goose openly stared at your ass like he wanted to take a bite out of it, even Maverick would notice.
“Alright, let’s go,” you stated, straightening up.
Goose smacked himself lightly on the cheek to remind himself to focus before heading out of the house behind you and Maverick.
After lunch, Maverick managed to convince you to go along with their shenanigans for the rest of the day. Including—to your complete frustration—a night out at the O Club.
But you had the day off tomorrow as well, so you were running out of excuses.
Applying some bright red lipstick, you straightened up in your bathroom and made some last-minute adjustments. You weren’t going to actually go out searching for anything tonight, but that didn’t mean that you couldn’t have a little fun. It was nice to be complimented and to feel like an actual woman rather than a blob of scrubs once in a while.
Satisfied with your appearance, you grabbed your purse and walked out to your living room to wait for Goose and Maverick to come around and pick you up. Pulling on a pair of strappy heels, you picked your head up when you heard the Bronco coming around the corner again. Locking up your house, you trotted down to where Goose pulled over.
“Hey,” you called, pulling the back door open. Noticing the uniforms that Goose and Maverick were wearing, you managed a small, bashful smile when you caught Goose’s eye. “You pulled out the summer whites for the occasion?”
“Have to look the part,” Maverick answered instead, completely oblivious to the look that you were sending Goose.
“Right,” you drawled, leaning back in your seat.
You glanced out the window as Goose discreetly fixed his rearview mirror to give him a slightly better view of you in a dress that he hadn’t seen you in before. Clearing his throat to remind himself that he needed to focus on the road and not the hints of your breasts that were outlined by the particular cut of the dress, Goose put the car in drive.
The O Club was packed full by the time that you, Goose, and Maverick arrived. You stuck close to Goose, who was tall enough that he could see over most of the crowd, as Maverick and Goose surveyed over the patrons.
“This is what I call a target rich environment,” Maverick stated with a wide smirk.
You immediately reached over and smacked your brother on the back of his head, causing him to whine and shoot you a glare as he rubbed the tender skin.
“You deserved it. I’m not going to apologize,” you stated before heading for the bar.
“You live your life between your legs, Mav,” Goose added, squeezing Maverick’s shoulder before following after you.
“Goose, even you could get laid in a place like this,” Maverick replied, patting Goose on the back.
“I’m telling you; I’d be happy to find a girl to talk dirty to me.”
That line caused you to momentarily pause, which resulted in Goose running into the back of you. Goose grabbed your arm to steady you and you tried to not buckle under his concerned gaze. Your eyes widened at your newfound proximity as Goose shot you an apologetic smile.
“Sorry, honey.”
“It’s not your fault. It’s crowded in here,” you mumbled out bashfully.
You cleared your throat and turned back for the bar, reminding yourself to keep cool. Goose and Maverick stepped up beside you at the bar and ordered their beers. When the bartender turned to you, you requested a bit of a stronger beverage to get you through the evening. At least that way, if you did something stupid, you could blame it on the alcohol.
The bartender placed Maverick and Goose’s drinks down first before walking off to grab the ingredients for your drink. You fiddled with your fingers and looked up when Goose spoke up.
“Mav, you know who the best is? That’s him, Iceman,” Goose stated, gesturing across the bar.
You and Maverick turned in sync to the man in question. He was tall and dressed in the same uniform as Maverick and Goose with a solid tan and frosted tips. But you were more focused on the fact that he was wearing sunglasses inside at night like a douche bag and that the glass that he was drinking from had an obscene amount of ice in it.
Well, at least he lived up to his callsign.
“It’s the way he flies. Ice cold. No mistakes. He just wears you down, you get bored, frustrated, you do something stupid, and he’s got you,” Goose explained, taking a swig from his beer.
You smiled at the bartender and thanked him when he placed your drink down in front of you. Pulling your drink back to you and taking a sip, you turned around when Goose called out to another aviator that was walking over to this side of the bar.
“Hey, hey, Slider,” Goose chuckled, grabbing onto the set of wings on Slider’s uniform, “I thought that you wanted to be a pilot, man, what happened?”
“Goose, you’re such a dickhead. Whose butt did you kiss to get in here, huh?” Slider asked, tilting his chin up.
“Well, the list is long but distinguished,” Goose joked, playing along.
“Yeah, well so is my Johnson,” Slider replied, knocking back a shot.
Setting the glass down on the bar, Slider set his sights on you. Slider sent you a smirk that both Goose and Maverick immediately noticed and did not appreciate.
“And it is available,” Slider added, sending you a wink.
“Yeah, well, she’s not,” Goose stated, causing Slider to turn to him.
“She’s my sister, Kerner, so keep your mitts off of her,” Maverick replied, earning an eyeroll from you.
“But you said that your Johnson is both long and distinguished?” you asked Slider, taking a long sip of your drink as you toyed with all three aviators at once.
Maverick and Goose whipped around to shoot your exasperated and incredulous looks, which you promptly ignored. After all, it wasn’t like you were actually going to consider going home with Slider. You didn’t want anything to do with the whole TOP GUN bullshit. But that didn’t mean that you couldn’t mess with Maverick after he was such a little shit to you.
“She’s not serious,” Maverick stated, grabbing you and tugging you closer to him.
“I’m just trying to make conversation,” you replied, shrugging your shoulders. Turning back to Goose and Slider, who seemed to be having some kind of territorial staring contest, you gestured between them. “So, how do you two know each other?”
“We went to the Academy together,” Goose explained, still shooting Slider a death glare.
“You’re a RIO then?” you asked Slider.
“He flies with Iceman,” Goose answered before Slider could.
“That’s Mr. Iceman to you,” Slider corrected Goose before gesturing over to his pilot.
“Hey, Mother Goose, how’s it going?” Ice greeted him.
Iceman stepped up and offered Goose a genuine smile as he reached over to shake Goose’s hand. Goose broke his staring contest with Slider to return Ice’s polite greeting.
“I’m doing good, Tom,” Goose replied before gesturing over to Maverick. “This is Pete Mitchell. Pete, this is Tom Kazansky.”
While Maverick and Ice exchanged their quips and attempts to feel each other out, you simply sipped at your drink, a bit bored to be honest. You glanced up when Goose stepped in front of you, blocking you from Slider’s view, before turning back to the exchange between Maverick and Ice.
“Mav, you must have sold under a lucky star, huh?” Slider asked, causing the group to turn to him. “First, the MiG and then you guys slide into Cougar’s spot.”
“Hey, we didn’t slide into Cougar’s spot, it was ours, okay?” Goose stated, squaring up to Slider again.
“Yeah, well some pilots wait their whole careers just to see a MiG up close,” Slider stated, picking up another shot. “Guess you guys are lucky and famous, huh?”
“No, you mean notorious,” Ice corrected his RIO before setting his sights on you. Identifying you as a target, since you were sandwiched in between Goose and Maverick, Ice offered you a flirtatious smile. “If you want to hang out with a real group of aviators, we’ll be over there.” Ice turned back to Maverick and Goose, who were both now glaring daggers into his skull. “I’ll see you two around.”
“You can count on it,” Maverick stated pointedly.
“Bye,” you called after them, earning a pinch in your side from Maverick.
“They were abused children,” Goose stated, leaning on the bar with a dead serious expression.
“Goose!” you admonished, nudging him in the side.
“What?”
“That’s so rude,” you scolded him, though you couldn’t help the smile or light giggle that escaped.
“Then why are you laughing, honey?” Goose shot back.
He smiled at you in a way that instantly had your heart fluttering. But Maverick, ever the oblivious and indirect cockblock, broke the moment.
“We’re going to have a good time,” Maverick stated, holding up his drink.
You clinked your drinks together before Goose and Maverick turned to survey the rest of the bar. You, however, were sneaking not very subtle looks in Goose’s direction. It wasn’t your fault that he looked that good in his fancy white uniform.
But, of course, as soon as Maverick set his sights on some poor woman across the way, you were on your own once again. And that was why you never came out to the bars with your brother. Picking up your drink, you were about to head to a booth or a seat elsewhere when Ice swooped in, cutting off your escape.
“I don’t believe that I caught your name earlier,” Ice stated, leaning on the bar with a confident smirk.
“I don’t believe that I gave you my name earlier,” you replied calmly, turning to face Ice. You set your drink down and retook your seat. “But I know that you’re Iceman.”
“Hard to forget a face like mine,” Ice remarked, causing you to let out an amused noise.
“Did you practice that one in the mirror?”
“I can see the resemblance. Between you and your brother,” Ice stated, earning a sharp look from you.
“What do you want from me?” you asked, getting straight to the point.
“I just wanted to talk. To get to know you.”
“You wanted to get to know my brother, actually,” you corrected Ice, twirling your drink around on the bar top. “You know, so that you can win the TOP GUN trophy and everything since he’s most likely your biggest competition.”
“I’m horrified that you think that I would use a lady’s attention for such nefarious purposes,” Ice drawled, causing you to playfully roll your eyes. “Really, I’m hurt. And I hear that you’re a nurse, so I think that you can help me get better, right?”
Ice leaned in closer, but you didn’t back down. You held his gaze confidently and reached for your drink.
“Is my brother glaring holes into the side of your head right now?” you asked, taking casual a sip.
“Yeah, but your personal bodyguard is going to get over here first,” Ice remarked, causing you to raise an eyebrow.
“Who?”
“Hey,” Goose called loudly, causing you and Ice to turn to him, “what are we talking about over here, huh? Let me just . . .” Goose situated himself in between Ice and you, causing Ice to shoot you an amused look. “So, what were we talking about?”
“Nothing too scandalous,” Ice replied, standing up straighter. He turned to you with a friendly smirk. “But I should get going. It was nice meeting you. And I’ll see you tomorrow, Goose.”
Ice walked off, leaving Goose and you alone. Goose waited a moments before turning urgently to you.
“Did he say anything to you?” Goose asked quietly, looking concerned.
“No, he was just messing with me. He just wants to get in Maverick’s head,”you replied, dismissing Goose’s concern. But when Goose didn’t change his expression, you leaned forward and grabbed his shoulder. “I’m fine, Goosie. He’s hardly the first cocky aviator that I’ve dealt with.”
“You sure?”
“Yes, I’m sure, Nick.”
You offered Goose a small smile, twisting in your bar seat. Goose nodded in return, though he still looked a bit on edge as he glanced around the O Club. He leaned in closer to you to keep his voice low and still be heard over the music of the club. And if he noticed how your eyes widened slightly and your breath caught in your throat, he didn’t mention it.
“And by the way, I would stay away from Slider too. Trust me, he stinks. Never uses soap. Hardly ever does his laundry and—”
“—Goose,” you interjected, cutting off his ramble about Slider’s unkemptness, “I wasn’t going to go home with Slider.”
“You weren’t?” Goose asked, looking more than a little relieved.
“No, I was just messing with my brother,” you assured Goose, taking another sip of your drink. “And besides, I generally avoid going out with guys who make any sort of announcements about their genitals during the first five seconds of me knowing them.”
“Oh, okay,” Goose breathed out, a small easygoing smile returning to his lips.
You and Goose shared a small smile before Goose turned in his seat so that he was facing the bar. He gestured to your drink, which was starting to run low.
“Did you want another drink?”
“That depends,” you replied, twirling your straw around. “How long do you think we’ll still be here for?”
“I don’t know,” Goose answered honestly, glancing around the bar. “Mav sort of ran off with a woman, but I’m not really sure how that’s going.”
“I don’t want to know how that’s going,” you stated, wrinkling your nose in disgust.
“Then we’ll get you another drink,” Goose decided, causing you to smile and nod.
“Alright, Goosie, you’ve convinced me.”
Goose flagged down the bartender and ordered them both another round. The bartender placed your drinks down and Goose and you clinked them together before falling back into a conversation. There was still no sign of Maverick anywhere, so you entertained yourselves.
“Anything fun happening down at the hospital?” Goose asked, causing you to snort.
“I don’t want to disgust you.”
“Hey, hey, I’m a tough guy, I can handle it,” Goose replied, earning a light chuckle.
“Didn’t one of the nurses have to hold you down when you got a shot?” you asked, twisting your lips into a well-meaning smirk.
“It was a huge needle,” Goose exaggerated, causing you to laugh. “I was hardly the only guy who walked out of there a little paler than they were when they went in there.” Goose took a sip of his beer before pointing a figure over at you. “And Mav wasn’t supposed to tell anyone about that.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone else,” you assured Goose, reaching for your drink.
You glanced around at the bar, taking a long sip. And you were completely unaware of the way that Goose was staring at you. How closely he was analyzing the way that your bright red lips wrapped around the straw. Or how he noticed that the way that you leaned forward gave him a better peak of your cleavage.
Tugging at his collar, Goose forced himself to look away and chugged some of his beer.
“Do you have work tomorrow?” Goose asked, trying to move to a very professional conversation topic.
“No, this is technically my ‘weekend,’” you replied, making air quotes with your fingers. “So, I don’t work tomorrow, but then I work three days straight after that.”
“Sorry that we’ve been dragging you around with us on your day off,” Goose offered, causing you to send him a small smile.
“It’s not all bad,” you assured him, tilting your head to the side. “It’s nice to catch up with you. You guys, I mean. It’s been a while since we’ve seen each other.”
“Seven months,” Goose agreed, tapping his fingers on the bar top.
“Yeah, it’s been a while,” you stated softly. You locked eyes with Goose and flicked your tongue out between your lips to catch the last drop of your sip, which Goose, of course, noticed. “Any big plans for you shore leave?”
“Maybe a few,” Goose replied, causing you to perk up.
“Like what?”
“Uh . . .” Goose trailed off awkwardly, trying to come up with something off the top of his head that was actually appropriate to say aloud to you, “. . . I really wanted to catch up on the movies that I missed.” You nodded slowly, causing Goose to sweat a bit. “You know me and movies.”
“Right,” you held out, raising a slightly suspicious eyebrow. “Well, if you want, there’s this drive-in place nearby that just opened up.”
“You ever been before?” Goose asked, causing you to shake your head.
“No, I haven’t. My coworker recommended it to me.”
“Did you want to go some time?” Goose offered softly, earning a wide doe-eyed look from you.
“Me?” you asked, gesturing to yourself.
“Yeah, you,” Goose laughed, trying to hide the fact that he was most definitely sweating through his shirt. “Who else?”
You opened your mouth, trying to find a way to respond to Goose’s offer that was appropriate and not at all desperate, when Charlie, the woman that Maverick serenaded earlier on the other side of the bar, walked by you.
“Your friend was magnificent,” Charlie stated confidently.
Goose sat up and watched Charlie walk away. You gagged when you noticed your brother walking over with a pleased smirk.
“You’re disgusting, you know that?” you huffed, shooting Maverick a look.
“What the hell did Ice want?” Maverick asked, quickly changing the topic of conversation.
“Nothing.”
You reached for your drink and pulled the straw out. Bringing the cup to your lips, you chugged the rest of it, earning an eye roll from Maverick and an amazed look from Goose. But then Goose caught the sight of the condensation from the outside of the glass rolling down your neck and got distracted again. Setting the glass down on the bar top, you turned back to Goose and Maverick.
“Can we go then? I’d prefer to not see you accost anyone else in this place,” you stated, standing up from your seat.
“Yeah, let’s go.”
They paid off their tabs before heading out to the car. Goose drove you back to your house, trying to not sink in his seat when he still lacked any answer to his offer. You didn’t look at him, staring out the window, and chatting casually with Maverick. Pulling up alongside your house, Goose put the car in park and smiled back at you. You returned it, leaning forward a bit.
“Thanks for driving, Goosie.” Turning to the both of them, you reined in the more schoolgirl-like bashfulness. “I’ll see you guys later.”
“Have a good night,” Goose replied softly.
“I’ll call you if we’re going something,” Maverick offered as you got out of the Bronco.
“Sounds good,” you agreed, shutting the door behind you. Looking past your brother, who had his window rolled down, you offered Goose a shy smile. “And if you wanted to go to the drive-in, just . . . let me know.”
“The drive-in?” Maverick asked, confused and oblivious.
“I’ll—we’ll,” Goose caught himself, “we’ll do that, yeah.”
But the smile that he sent you next clearly communicated that he would call you. And that maybe he would forget to invite Maverick along. And then maybe you would forget to suggest for Maverick to come along too. And then you would just accidentally go to the drive-in, just the two of you. And maybe Maverick would just never hear about it.
“I’d like that,” you agreed, adding to Maverick’s confusion. “I’ll see you guys later. Goodnight.”
“Night,” Maverick and Goose echoed.
They waited until you were safely inside your house before Goose put the car back into drive. Maverick frowned a bit, thinking over your strange words.
“Drive-in?” he asked Goose, who stared straight ahead to not give anything away.
“I wouldn’t worry about it,” Goose stated, waving his hand to the side. “Maybe she was just tipsy.”

In this week's written Umbral scene, our Ethereal, Zarath'anar, doesn’t have many lines, but I made sure the ones he does have are dialed up to 11. He’s from the Consortium, an Ethereal faction focused on trade and shady deals.
Most of my research is pretty focused but I absolutely loved digging into Ethereal lore. Usually, I dig further than I need to, obviously for context but also, you never know what threads will be useful later on.
For this, while the Consortium wasn’t front-and-center during Legion (the story's timeline), it still felt lore-consistent that he might be in Dalaran as a vendor at my imagined market—especially more so than other Ethereal factions in this context.
Writing Ethereal dialogue is a time—it adds another layer of formality, which feels a little different from the bits of high fantasy and poetry I usually do.
By nature, Ethereals are cryptic, mysterious, detached from mortal concerns, and more focused on broader cosmic forces. Some of my favorite lines from Void Ethereals like Locus-Walker, Saprish, and Ashaal really get at that :
"Our bargain does not require me to wait until you are ready." — Locus-Walker
While these scenes serve more as a script/draft for the comic, visuals being sparse, I'm excited to draw all of it! The scene was a bit long overall but we have a little time before I get to the panels in Act 2. I'd love to do a revision of this but as is, it was nice to finish it.
Excerpt from Act 2, Scene 5: Echoes
At the Ethereal’s stall, Eluvianna found a collection of odd trinkets and crystal fragments. The Ethereal, barely more than a shimmering silhouette, stood quietly behind the array. As a simple stone caught her eye, its surface swirled with colors that seemed to shift.
As she leaned closer to it, the ethereal inclined his head. “In all things, the Sin’dorei have an impeccable sense of timing,” he murmured, his voice carrying on the wind. Eluvianna glanced up from the wares, momentarily meeting his gaze—or where his eyes should have been.
“Am I… late?” Eluvianna asked, compelled to respond despite the uncertainty.
“Quite the contrary—you are early. And as such, perfectly on time.” He nodded with sincerity. “It seems the past is not doomed to repeat itself entirely.”
From the folds of his fabric, he produced a small, tightly wrapped package, offering it to her with a spectral hand. “As agreed.”
“I don’t recall meeting before. Perhaps you’ve mistaken me for someone else?” Eluvianna protested.
“Promises hold weight across all realities,” he replied, his voice like the air between worlds.
Despite her confusion, something in his words compelled her to accept the package. As she reached for it, he held it a moment longer, his grip firm but not unkind. “Alas, even I cannot glimpse the final patterns of the currents we navigate.”
Eluvianna furrowed her brow. “Currents?”
“Perhaps our paths will cross again when the echoes of this moment return,” his form shimmering faintly.
Somehow the words were familiar. Perhaps the echoes he spoke of were tied to her dreams. They had become more vivid, and last night they felt like a future destined. Though she had shrugged it off as merely a wish, she knew her studies had opened her mind to more. Just not quite any such path of an oracle.

Kids climb the jungle gym savagely trying to outdo one another. Kids swing high on the swingset to the point where they might fall off and onto their asses. That's something you’d like to see. Parents are seated on the bench with phones in their hands or to their ears, calling out to their kids to get back up once they’ve fallen.
You should be having fun out there with the rest of them but you’re off to the side by yourself away from it all. You’ve always been an outcast in your group home. It’s better than being the center of attention. There is a whole forest surrounding the park, a forest that must have secrets of its own. Secrets that are begging to be found by someone like you. All the parents including your fake ones are too busy on their phones to notice what’s going on, so you sneak off towards the forest without a look back.
You’re not going to go too far since the forest is pretty big and you don’t want to get lost so you always stay far enough into where you can see the park if you were to look behind you. You take two steps to the right when you hear gunshots and bottles shattering. You veer off the path a bit until you come to a clearing where two boys are. One of them looks old enough to be in high school and the other looks like he is just starting high school.
The younger one aims the gun in his hands at the bottles before shooting, and the glass shatters everywhere. They’re far enough away from the park where the noise isn’t going to be a bother to the kids playing. This neighborhood isn’t the best anyway, so gunshots aren’t unheard of here. The younger kid shoots another bottle which prompts you to walk closer to them.
“Can I join?”
Both boys jump out of their skin when they hear you, and the older one narrows his eyes.
“Beat it, kid.”
“Let me shoot just one.”
“I’m not gonna ask again.”
“Just because I’m a kid doesn’t mean I can’t shoot a gun.”
The older kid turns to you and crosses his arms to look intimidating but it doesn’t work.
“How old are you?”
“Ten.”
“Where are your parents?”
“Dead.”
The older boy thinks for a second before nudging the younger one.
“Give her the gun, Sammy.”
Sammy hands you the gun handle first so his hand is wrapped around the barrel. You take it and step to where he once was before aiming. Years of using your fake dad’s guns are finally paying off. You hit the third, fourth, and fifth bottles with precision, shocking both boys.
“I’m impressed. Where did you learn to shoot?” the older one asks and grabs the gun from you.
“My dad who is not really my dad has a cool gun collection. He doesn’t notice when we get into them. Not like he’d care anyways.”
“Your dad who is not really your dad?”
“Yeah, my parents died when I was two or three. I’ve spent my time in a group home ever since. The mom doesn’t really stick around a lot. I think she’s only with her husband because of the money he gets from all the kids he has. The dad is cool so as long as you don’t piss him off. Like I said, he lets us use his guns for target practice so that’s cool.”
“I’m Sam,” the younger one smiles. “That’s my brother, Dean.”
“Nice to meet you, Sam. I’m Y/N.”
Dean’s phone chirps and he checks it immediately.
“Shit, we have to go.” You get kind of sad at the thought of not hanging out with them anymore. “See ya, kid.”
Sam and Dean leave the bottles where they are and leave with the gun. You have no choice but to go back to the park, your fake parents having no clue you even left. There is something about the brothers that sticks with you even after a few days have passed. You can’t wait to see them again, so when your fake parents take the kids back to the park, you run over to the same place last time.
Sam and Dean are in the same spot shooting bottles once again.
“Hi, Sam. Hi, Dean.”
“Hey, Y/N,” Sam smiles and shoots another bottle.
“Question. Why is Sam the only one shooting?”
“Sam needs the practice,” Dean answers.
“Why? Why are you shooting to begin with?”
“Because we have free will.”
“What do you want to shoot at later?”
“Do you always ask a lot of questions?” Dean asks you.
“Only when I’m curious.”
“Curiosity killed the cat.”
Despite how cagey Dean is toward you, you like being with them. They’re a lot better than the kids at the group home.
“Can I try shooting again?”
“No, Sammy needs to do this.”
“It’s Sam,” the younger brother grumbles.
“Just shoot.”
Sam gets in a few good shots before lowering his weapon.
“I’m good, Dean. I’ve been doing this for weeks.”
“Oh, you think you’re ready now, huh?” Dean looks at you who stares at him with wide eyes. He looked like he was going to continue with the threat, saw you, and backed down. “Come on, we should be leaving.”
“You just got here,” you complain.
“Kid, we have shit to do. Sammy, come on.”
Dean walks away but Sam stays where he is. He takes out the phone his dad allowed him to have for emergencies and hands it over to you.
“Put your number in. We can talk later.”
“Okay,” you smile. Dean turns back and sees this. He lets Sam have his friend and this moment. When you’re done, you hand it back to Sam. “Text me.”
“I will.”
Sam runs off with his older brother, leaving you alone. This time, you head back to the park with a smile on your face. The days after are spent with your face in your phone texting Sam. You keep asking about Dean but he doesn’t say much about him. Sam is nice and is your first real friend, and you’re not going to let someone like Dean scare you away from him.
A week later, you’re lying on your bed reading a worn-down book when your phone rings. The group home has a small library filled with books that are well out of your reading range in the opposite direction. They’re all kid books but they pass the time. You smile when you see Sam’s name pop up on the screen.
“Hi, Sam,” you answer.
“Hey, we’re outside. Wanna go to the beach?”
You scramble off the bed and look out the window to see the shiny black Impala waiting outside. With a grin, you grab your jacket and meet the brothers in the car. Sam is sitting in the backseat to give you the front while Dean is behind the wheel. His father gave him this car when he turned eighteen, a car he is in love with having.
Dean takes off to the nearest beach which isn’t far from where you’re staying. Since you’re much closer to Sam’s age than Dean’s, he lets you two have your fun in the sun while he stays back and keeps an eye on you two.
“Is he always this serious?” you ask and make a pile of sand.
“Yeah. He can be a hard-ass but he’s a good guy. He’s looked out for me my entire life.”
You look back at Dean to see him watching you with a close eye. He doesn’t want you and Sam to get close because then he’d have to break both your hearts when they up and move to the next town. John is working a demon case not far from here that has been taking a few weeks which is why they haven’t moved away yet.
When the sun got too much to bear, Dean took you and Sam to get ice cream across the street. The cold treat is a nice stark to the hot summer sun.
“So, do you guys have parents?” you ask as you eat.
“Mom died when I was a baby,” Sam answers for Dean. He knows he doesn’t like talking about Mom. “We just have a dad.”
“What does he do?”
“Something that moves us around a lot. As soon as he’s done, we won’t be here anymore,” Dean says.
He might sound harsh but he has to make you understand Sammy isn’t always going to be here. He doesn’t want to involve a kid in this life even if was forced onto him and Sam. You hear the sternness in his voice. That’s a stop-asking-questions-before-you-get-hurt stern.
You and Sam keep texting well after the beach date just because it’s nice to have a friend even if you’re four years younger than him. You’re well beyond your years, something the group home forced upon you. The kids here are worse than the parents because they’ll hurt you without a care in the world while the parents have some sort of heart when it comes to kids.
One night when you can’t sleep, you grab your phone and text Sam in hopes that he is up. He’s usually pretty quick with his responses. The past couple of weeks, he’s been answering late at night because he can’t sleep. He claims the monsters in the closet are going to get him. Ten minutes go by and you start to grow worried.
Your fake parents aren’t going to notice if you leave, so you decide to go over to where they’re staying and see if they’re okay. You pack light with only what you can carry and sneak out through the window. Luckily your bedroom is on the first floor. You take a rock and place it on the window sill to keep the window from closing and locking on you. You’d really rather not sleep outside.
The reason you are able to hang out with Sam and Dean almost every day is that they live so close to your group home. You keep to the shadows in case anyone is out at this time. You don’t want a repeat of what happened last time. You got caught and woke up your fake dad. He wasn’t happy, to say the least.
You get to the motel they’re staying in and find their room on the second floor easily. You knock three times and wait three minutes but no one comes out. You knock two more times but decide that it’s easier if you break in. Your fake parents like to keep things hidden so you’ve gotten good at picking locks.
You get into the room in two minutes but no one is inside. The beds are messy as if someone was sleeping in them recently. It doesn’t look like foul play since nothing is out of order. However, there is an entire wall of news clippings about the murders that have been happening in town.
Bodies Drained Of Blood. Vampires? Are Our Kids Safe? BEWARE MONSTERS AT WORK.
Many articles about the murders in town all point to a single kind of monster: vampires. Alongside the news articles are pages from books about vampires. Lore about vampires. What makes them tick, what makes them dead, and everything in between. Is this what Sam and Dean have been doing while in town? Is this the kind of work their dad does that causes them to move around a lot? Hunting vampires across the country?
There are vials on the desk in the back filled with some kind of blood, and you look at the notes next to it. Dead Man’s Blood. Nearly lethal to vampires. There is an address for the old Mill on the outside of town. That’s where Sam and Dean are, you bet. You grab a few vials of Dead Man’s Blood and leave the room. It takes longer to get there since you’re a ten-year-old on foot but you make it in record time.
You’ve been here a few times with your older siblings while they smoked weed and played Indie music. Even before walking inside, you can hear the screams of people coming from inside. You quickly sneak inside and follow the sounds of despair down to the basement. You haven’t seen John but assume he is somewhere here fighting off vampires.
In the basement is another vampire with a terrified Sam and Dean (more so Sam than Dean). Sam is clutching his older brother while Dean holds a machete in his hands trying to protect  Sam. They haven’t seen you yet otherwise Dean would be trying to protect you too.
“Give it up, kid. You’re not getting out of here alive.”
“I wouldn’t bet on it,” you say from behind them.
You jump onto the vampire’s back and slam the syringe of blood into his neck. The vampire grabs at you to fight you off, only managing to throw you off him. You knock into the wall with a grunt as the vampire goes down. Dean runs at him and swipes his machete into his neck.
That’s when John comes down with a bloody machete sling over his shoulder. He grins at his sons before noticing you.
“Where the hell did you come from?”
“She saved us, Dad,” Sam says.
“How did you know where to find us?”
“The news clippings on your wall. You’re very thorough.”
John doesn’t like that you’ve been inside his room and looking through his things, but he will deal with it later.
“Get to the car. I’ll meet you there,” John orders his eldest son.
Dean takes you and Sam outside while John gets rid of the bodies so that no one will know what happened there.
“So, this is what you really do? Kill monsters?”
“Yeah,” Dean sighs.
“Not sure I believed in vampires until tonight. Is that the only monster out there?”
“No. This world is filled with monsters from your worst nightmare.”
“Dean, don’t scare her.”
“She’s the one who broke into our motel room, stole from us, followed us here, and took down a vampire.”
“Is this why Sam is the only one shooting?”
“He needs the practice,” Dean says and shoves his hands into his jacket pockets.
You look around the place and think about what you’ve just gone through. That was more thrilling than anything you’ve ever done in the group home.
“Okay, I’m in.”
“Kid, go home,” Dean rolls his eyes.
“What home? I don’t have one. Do you think they care about me? They only care about the paycheck I bring in. I have to fight other kids, older kids, just for a slice of damn pizza most days. I hate it there.”
“Dean,” Sam whispers and nudges his brother.
Only Dean can make this decision. If it were up to Sam, you’d already be in the car. John might not be keen on having another kid with him if Dean says yes, but he’d come around once he sees how resourceful you can be.
“You got heart, kid. You can’t come with us but that doesn’t mean you can’t help. I’ll give you some books to read. Do your homework and maybe you can help us on the next hunt we have.”
“Deal,” you smile.

We need to practise
cw: smut and language
It wasn’t the best weather to be practising outside, but Hermione had insisted they could use the fresh air. They were deep into winter with spring still two months away. All of the students could honestly do with more natural light and less gloomy castle walls.
So, outside it was.
The two of them sat atop a thick blanket Hermione had snagged from the Gryffindor Common Room and charmed to both resist moisture and radiate warmth. Their belongings were scattered across the fuzzy red-and-gold plaid where they sat cross legged in front of each other, a white, marble chess piece between them. She couldn’t help her snort when Malfoy’s attempt sprouted feathers on the still-visible figurine.
“Oi! Let’s see you do it, then,” he said snarkily, reminding her of another wizard and another sort of feather.
Better to not think of that failed endeavour.
Concentrating intently on her wand, Hermione traced the tip downwards in exact movements, successfully transfiguring the king into a large black bird. It fixed her with beady eyes before transforming back with her counterspell.
“There you have it, Malfoy. Your turn now.”
To be fair, she did have the poor manners to gloat at her practice partner with a smile reminiscent of Crookshanks delivering a particularly lively mouse. She squeaked not unlike one of those unfortunate rodents when he knocked aside the king to lean into her instead.
“Draco!”
“Oh, ‘Draco’ now, is it?” he asked, brow arched and eyes darkening as he pushed Hermione onto her back.
“What do you think you’re doing? We’re meant to be using this time to practise–”
“And I intend to do just that,” he interrupted.
She opened her mouth to protest, reasons already on the tip of her tongue. He silenced them with his own mouth, lips coaxing with a gentle caress. She felt his fingers card into the curls at the nape of her neck and moaned at the ensuing tug. Hermione loved it when he pulled her hair, using just the right amount of pressure to direct her movements as he desired. She obliged him now, arching her head back so he could run hot kisses across her jaw, down the curve of her neck, then lathing his tongue against the sensitive spot right above her collar bone.
“Nnnn, Draco…” Plans forgotten, thoughts fading like they rarely ever did except with him, Hermione gave herself over to the sensations he was intent on inducing.
“Yes?” He pulled back to look at her, loosening his grip on her hair so she could meet his gaze.
She frowned at the pause in her pleasure. “Why did you stop?”
He chuckled in amusement and resumed playing with her hair, pulling up one long coil to watch it bounce back into form. He braced his upper torso over her with only one elbow taking the bulk of his weight. He didn’t seem to mind.
“You said my name, so I thought you might need something.” As if agreeing with his sentiment, he trailed his hand down from her curls between her breasts, his pinky tantalisingly close to a sensitive peak, down her ribs, then slipped beneath the waistband of her skirt where he stilled all movement. “Do you need something, Hermione?”
They’d maintained eye contact through his pathing, Hermione entranced by how the closer he got to her apex, the darker his eyes became. The light clouds of his irises now looked stormy grey, nearly crackling with intensity. He waited for her response, each puff of breath from his lips teasing her own.
“More. I need more, please.”
The wicked grin that crossed his features sent an immediate jolt between her legs, an ache that deepened and spread.
“You do ask so nicely,” he said. He rewarded her with another heated kiss as the broad expanse of his palm slid down, down, until his long fingers ran the length of her drenched knickers. He grunted against her lips, and this time it was her turn to smile.
She broke away from their kiss only to nudge his face to the side so she could whisper her demands against the curve of his ear.
“Make me come, Draco. Pretty please?”
He groaned.
“Fuck. How many do you want? Tell me.”
Always the eager one. Always ready to please. At the start of their explorations, he’d wanted to prove himself better than anyone else, a self-proclaimed quest to bring her pleasure that trumped any and everyone before him.
He now only raced his own personal best, a competition Hermione was more than happy to encourage.
“What are you up to now?” She nibbled at the lobe of his ear, causing his hips to jerk against her.
“Three.”
“Then four.”
“Fuck. Yeah. Should I…?” He brought his hand up just far enough to flip it back around and thumb the clasp at her waist.
“No, leave it on. Just flip the skirt up.”
She reached for her wand and cast her strongest notice-me-not. If they were doing this, then she wanted absolute privacy. Hermione wasn’t above a vengeful confringo on any unfortunate soul who might interrupt them.
The spell sent her lover into an excited frenzy now that he knew they were likely safe to do as they pleased. He shifted around to kneel between her legs, flipping up her skirt just as suggested. Two firm hands grasped the meat of her thighs and bent them into an upward v.
“Aren’t you going to remove–”
“Shhh, after the first one, maybe.”
She yelped as he mouthed her through the thin fabric of her knickers.
“I want to ruin these before I take them off. I might even leave them on when I fuck you. You’re going to come on my cock.”
Well, things had certainly escalated. Sex with Malfoy hadn’t been on her agenda for the afternoon, and not even after when he’d first coaxed her legs open. She thought she’d take her pleasure, return the favour in kind, then proceed with transfiguration practice as planned.
“On second thought, maybe we don’t have time right now. You still haven’t successfully cast–”
She choked on her words when he pulled aside the gusset of her knickers to swipe up the seam of her cunt with his tongue before pressing the entire length of it inside. He’d let go of her thighs to wrap his arms around them from underneath instead. Her instinct to squeeze them shut at the unexpected contact failed as he used his hands to yank her thighs open.
He pulled out of her with an obscene slurp to give his rebuke. “You need to practise keeping these spread.”
Another yelp escaped her at the sting of his slap against her skin.
She couldn’t even hide how much the slap turned her on as a gush of liquid sprang forth. He paused just long enough to send her a smug smirk, his chin slick and coated with her, before he returned to her apex with increased vigour.
Circe.
He was abso-fucking-lutely right. They could both use this version of practice. Who cared about kings and rooks with Draco Malfoy between her legs? Nothing else could be more important. Not even close.
“Five, m-make it five!”

Twitter DramionePrompts 2/8/24 prompt “We need to practice”
Glum weather and February prompted my description of their environment. We had a brief “spring” in late January that almost had me believing winter was over. Fake out! We’re back to the typical rainy, grey skies. Can you blame me for fantasising about a different type of wet day?
