So, won't you please spare me indignity?
And won't you please give me some decency?
And won't you please call it, if our time is through?

main takeaway from certain fan reactions to the finale is this:
the final scene with ankarna was so meaningful to the bad kids' arcs and how they made peace with being wronged by people they loved, and if all you can focus on is that the rat grinders didn't get much screentime, then you don't love dimension20 and you don't love this world: you want to be playing your own hs themed dnd campaign and you're mad the oc versions of the rat grinders you made up in your head acted ooc. these are not your characters and this is not their story.

at one point i didn't like caduceus' epilogue, that he just stayed home for a long time and eventually travelled again and eventually calliope joined him too. but i think actually i love it. something so gentle about him returning home to a temple that was once empty and lonely but is now healing and full of family who he loves so much. and to not have anything particularly asked of him apart from tending the garden and his small routines. especially thinking about how tired and sad he is by the end of the campaign, compared to the beginning when hes so giddy to just be interacting with people and seeing things he's never seen before and to have guidance from the wildmother. and then later, after aeor and so many more horrible things have happened, he admits to calliope that its too much and the outside world is scary and big and he's so so tired and he keeps saying how tired he is. so basically ideal ending that he gets to go home and get better and heal enough to be excited when he heads out into the world again

The hunger games epilogue is so special.
I make a list in my head of every act of goodness I've seen someone do.
This line always bring me to tears. That in our worst moments we can can look back and find sentiments that will lift that ugly weight off our chests and somehow replace it with bits of tranquility.
Whether it be a hasty kiss stamped across the cheek, a nod of encouragement traversing through the room; hesitant stutters of burning forgiveness, even when it had ruptured a heart; fragments of shared bread split into growling stomachs; whispers of praise at the sight of scribbled letters; cries muffled into loving arms; replacement for lost money pressed into glazed hands; mumbles of hollow 'see you agains,' knowing all the same that fate will write us all apart. Promises of love and protection, knowing I will write us apart.
This is my list, all the the good things I've seen someone do, just a part of it because there is no beginning or end. It is a list of so many people's (strangers and friends all the same) acts of goodness I can never repay, because the first gesture is always the hardest pay back. But all they ever say is a promise of love and remembrance is enough.
That it can be good again.
That no matter how bad our losses, somewhere, sometime it will be good again. And even if hope doesn't flutter it's wings towards you right here and now, you can always look back at the feathers it has left behind. To catch, and stroke each barb till every good memory is etched in your mind, till you are tethered to hope and nothing is left behind. A promise that life can go on.

consider. ex catholic gale and shadowheart modern AU childhood friends.
shadowheart's parents and gale's mum being friends since the two were babies. they expected gale and shadowheart to eventually get together since they were stupidly young, even encouraged it. this never happened, but the families remained as close as ever, even meeting up for holidays well into their adulthood.
both drifted away from the religion for different reasons however they still appreciate the aesthetics and history that comes with it. they're always a phone call away when they need to confide in each other when the ~guilt~ takes hold.
the two of them in their late 30s has gale dressed in gaudy vibrant sweaters and thick frames, and shadowheart in monochrome outfits like she just walked off a runway. they look to be from completely different worlds to outsiders, like they couldn't possibly have anything in common.
meeting and befriending the other companions, who think they're together, and even ask if there was ever anything between them. they both loudly defend themselves because 'EW, NO! THEY'RE LIKE A SIBLING TO ME!'
both have insane amount of dirt on the other, and stories from early teens/twenties that they share with the group after a bottle of wine in order to embarrass the other.

bg3 is so funny because astarion's approval rating with my bard tav was like.... 55 or smth by the end of the game and with my paladin tav it's sitting at a cool 80 or so at the beginning of act 3

So funny to me that gods can choose how they appear to mortals and Gale chose to look like he just got dipped in metallic body paint

why does "a power bottom at rock bottom" describe ultimate dirk so well. it's not even FAIR that any song lyrics are THAT applicable to his existence. 💀
