no but does anyone have any intel on what the sitch is with deadpool's (possible lack of) scarring/skin issues in the ultimate spiderman cartoons??

like i've read on the Ultimate Spider-Man Animated Series Wiki™ that he comes equipped with all his usual deadpool-y regeneration powers and stuff, and that his base abilities are because of a genetic mutation and then got ''' " "accelerated"" " " when S.H.I.E.L.D. ran some experiments on him, but does he have the same mass-of-scars-lumpy-pizza-face-syndrome as other deadpool iterations?

just to be clear, i'm operating under the assumption that the usm cartoon version of wade never had cancer, and that his baseline regenerative abilities (before the S.H.I.E.L.D. experiments further advanced them) aren't cancer-based, either. which might mean there's no lumps or scarring ig?

then again since super-fast skin regeneration comes with its own set of problems (ea "skin cells multiply too quickly'' is the literal medical definition of psoriasis) he might still be dealing with other skin issues?

Sure do!

His eyes are actually very sensitive to light and that's why it looks like he's glaring all the time. Boi needs a pair of sunglasses on a sunny day otherwise it's constantly scowling.

He has deep-rooted anxiety, not just about himself and his own identity, but by being around a lot of people. After finding out he was a clone of Spider-Man, he struggled with coming to terms with it and differentiating himself from Peter (nothing new if you've read comics, but I disgress.) Being around people gives him a lot of anxiety because he feels like he has to constantly protect himself. Fight or flight is ingrained into him and he struggles with relaxing with the team, even if he WANTS to. He's always waiting for SOMETHING bad to happen.

He's incredibly bristly and doesn't take anyone's bullshit, but he actually has a very low opinion of himself. Dealing with Otto's narcism all the time gave him a lot of self-hatred and anxiety, and instead of dealing with it in a healthy way, he tends to lash out and attack first because he doesn't feel safe being vulnerable in front of people.

He's become very aware of Peter and over-analyzes all the little behaviors they share. They both rub the back of their necks alot when they're sheepish, they both love wheatcakes to an unhealthy degree, and they both deep appreciation old 80's sitcoms. Sometimes Ben tries to change these behaviors because he doesn't want to be seen as TOO much like Peter. He gets anxious about other people making these connections and seeing him as some screwed up, off-brand Peter Parker.

He;s also incredibly kind and soft if you can get him alone. If its just him and one other person, he tends to let his guard down a little and relaxes more. He feels like he has to put on a big, tough guy performance in front fo a crowd/group, but one-on-one, he lets his walls down. (He has a secret soft spot for Miles and Amadeus)

Aunt May is his most favorite person in the entire world, and she's one of the few people he feels like he can be himself around. She makes him feel the safest he's ever been.

He overcompensates to make up for betraying Peter, Aunt May, and the Academy. He tries to take on more than he can handle to prove that he won't do something like that again, but gets very standoffish and defensive when Hydra or Otto is brought up. He's still working on it.

Hey Calamity-death, do you ever think that Otto from Ultimate Spider-Man that his lab accident wasn’t an “accident” at all? I know this might sound cliché of me saying this but when Norman mentioned on how he create an mechanical harness for Otto, like he wanted the accident to happen to Otto. (I hope I didn’t made you uncomfortable by any chance)

Hi !

In the cartoon, it never has been clearly adressed if Otto's accident had been a true accident or not. The only point of view we had was the blatant lie from Osborn.

However, if we inspire ourselves from both Ultimate and the classic origin story of Octavius in the comics, we can assume it was indeed an accident. But!! And that's a big but. We can safely assume Osborn was responsible of the gravity of said accident. In the cartoon, we got hints that Norman was Otto's mentor. That right when he got out of school, he was almost immediately admitted in Oscorp. We have to remember that Oscorp was like one of the best places to be when it came to science discoveries. Where the future is being crafted.

The accident happened because of the increasing pressure of work, Octavius' hubris and wish to get Osborn's pride. There's no doubt that a deep bond between Octavius and Osborn was built over the years, not only because of the discoveries and advancement they did together in genetics and engineering but also with Osborn becoming a surrogate parent to Octavius. But this whole ordeal became toxic. Osborn took advantage of that to push Octavius to his limits. And the worst happened. Or the best depending on your point of view. For Osborn, it was soul-crushing at first, thinking he was about to lose such potential (and also his "son" even though that situation is festering with red flags) but the mechanical harness Octavius was working on alongside Osborn saved Otto. As for the origin of the harness, we can assume that it was created to manipulate dangerous matter and act with extreme precision, a multi-task tool for science in all domains (so basically like in the comics in general, Ultimate or not). The harness wasn't created because the accident was premeditated, even though in the end, it was "made" for Otto.

Osborn didn't want such accident to happen; however when it did, it was the perfect opportunity to imprison Octavius for good, mentally and now physically as well. Make him fully dependant and extremely weakened, the harness turning him into the perfect tool.

At first, we can assume Otto accepted that fate: his surrogate parent in the person of Norman saved his life, he was still able to work on his projects for Oscorp, he wasn't useless so he thought. His "father" was still proud of him and spent time and money for Otto to survive, right? But the more time went by, the less humane it became; well, it wasn't very humane or ethical to begin with, the whole operation leading to the harness being strapped to Otto for good. Osborn in the end only saw Octavius as nothing but a tool, only looking at him with disgust and disdain. Octavius was stuck working for him, all this time slowly becoming a henchman for Osborn, leading more and more illegal operations and secret researches for Oscorp, but always under the cover of codename Octagon.

Anyway, I hope my rambling answered your question ! I'm always happy to talk about such things : )
