Oh Kei! Honda Vamos, 1970. Honda's domination of the early kei-car market was somewhat punctured by their cab-over leisure vehicle that was based on the TN360 kei truck. Honda anticipated sales of 2000 units per month but the market didn't respond as hoped. The Vamos was discontinued and not replaced in 1973 after total sales of 2500 vehicles

So this is admittedly coming from me using my engineering paper to do art studies (which actually has been very helpful for proportion consistency and understanding why something looks off to me)
But I agree that Gideon is actually a fairly decent artist who has whatever the equivalent of an engineering notebook in Avantris is, full of drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
While most of these are of equipment, rides, and gadgets he's either seen or been wanting to make if he ever had the resources for them there are some of people and creatures that catch his eye.
Now, these drawings tend to be very technical just basically replicating exactly what he sees down to fine details. They're not gonna be hung up in museums or aiming to express some deep, symbolic meaning.
They're are as direct and to the point as the man holding the pen drafting them. More akin to biological illustrations or engineering drawings. Little distinction between drawing a person to drawing a machine.
It can come off quite cold, actually. Maybe even unnerving to see yourself dissected and pulled apart into components.
It's why Gideon doesn't consider himself much of an artist. To him, this isn't art. If anything, it's closer to copying or tracing in his mind.
Initially, when Kremy finally got to see these drawings, he was a little disappointed with how stiff and clinical they all looked. He particularly didn't know how to feel about all the ones of him from angles he personally found unflattering or the ones that were side by side comparisons to wild alligators.
And maybe perhaps previous romantic notions of a hidden page of him rendered with soft strokes and reverent shades of charcoal were quickly erased, but at least Gid got his snout shape correct.
It does ease his mind at least that the rest of the crew gets the same treatment. Sure, there are still more pages of him than anyone else, but Kremy boils it down as a product of near constant proximity than one of muse. Otherwise, his interest in the notebook fades. The illustrations are still impressive within their own right, and he makes sure to tell Gid that whenever he finds him angrily ripping out a page that he's spent almost an hour over correcting dimensions on.
It really isn't until he finds a page on Torbek that wasn't there before that Kremy starts to pay it any mind. There's nothing particularly special about Torbek's page. It's the same clinical breakdown of his physiology and of his attire.
But it's there now when it wasn't there before in all the time they've known Torbek prior to the Faewild. Then, another page appears with Twig and all her little details pinned to the paper.
That's when it finally occurs to Kremy. Gideon, a man who prides himself in living to the fullest. Never slowing down as he races from one moment to the next. Is taking the time to notice and jot them down to memory.
These are not quick, sweeping scratches of lead. But meticulously measured lines calculated to take on the form of their visage. Every flaw, every nick, every piece that comes together to make them a whole, living mechanism perfectly replicated and accounted for.
There are no vibrant hues or eye-catching gestures that make one feel like they were sculpted from silk, but there is beauty in the exact distance between your eyes.
And if Kremy instinctively begins to still at the sight of a ruler taking his measurements from a distance, to afford time to a man who's only ever had it taken from him well that's between him and the good Baron.

In 1930 the Indiana Bell building in Evansville, Indiana was moved over 34 days the 11,000-ton building was moved 16 meters from its original location and rotated 90 degrees, a process that was completed in mid-November 1930, without interrupting or the service of calls nor the supply of gas, water, and electricity of the building. Over a month, the structure was moved 15 inch/hr all while 600 employees still worked there. According to reports, ‘no one inside felt it move’
The move was planned by engineers Bevington, Taggert & Fowler, while contractors John Eichlea Co. carried out the feat.

The “People Have To Be Worth Their Titles” bit in mouthwashing fascinates me so much. Curly is the only one often referred to by “Captain” and even the steam page asks: “What Happened To Good Ol’ Captain Curly?”, as if its apart of who he is as a character. He’s worth his title even when Jimmy does not think so and forcefully strips him of it, making it his own like most things. And I get the interpretation it’s because of capitalism turning people into their occupations, BUT. Anya being referred to both ingame and by fandom as “Nurse Anya” is so important to me. She earned and proved she was worth her title even though she could not get into medical school. Even when Jimmy used it demeaningly towards her, she keeps Curly alive and through each day. Her ability makes her worthy unlike him who constantly corrects others into remembering he would be captain. Anya puts in the effort and gets things done for their survival so if ANYONE was captain post-crash, it was her.

Isnt trigger, like, supper addictive? What r u doing to your boy?
needed some lazarus' pit vibes to wonkify izuku's brain a lil, he needed to be prepped for mental fuckery from all for one
also, it is super addictive, depending on the form and the amount used. ideo is particularly dangerous because the user loses control. of course Arakan would have it on him, it's the perfect tool in a pinch, and Izuku spectacularly managed to piss Arakan off.
also, imaginary izuku needed to go through some shit. sorry, my hand slipped. whoopsie!

Freedom Through Code
People always tout the career-related benefits of learning to code, but something I've noticed in my years writing it is that there's a sense of freedom that comes with it. I can just like, do things that I want or need to do. Learning some basic Python opened up so many doors for me, if I wanted to know something or if I wanted to do something I could just do it myself. Some examples:
Need to rename a ton of files (like removing something that a converter added to the file name)? Just use a for loop!
Need to convert a list of text from one format to another? (like point form list to a CSV that excel can use) Just use string.split and some slicing to rejoin everything.
Writing a math proof and need to come up with a counterexample for something? Just brute-force it if the case is based on integers. (very helpful for modular arithmetic problems)
Need to do a task that's actually like 9 really different steps? You can usually just write a program to do it in 15 minutes.
Doing a really complicated math problem and want to be able to check you punched a number in? Desmos works great, but if you need to use custom functions that aren't supported, just write it all up in Python. You might run into some small floating point weirdness, but it'll be minor enough to ignore.
There are a TON of tools online that you can make yourself in the Python shell faster than you could google and find them. Even if you never want to touch the computer science space with a 10 foot pole, learning major skills like this grants you a unique kind of freedom that you can only achieve by turning an arcane space into one that's just foggy.

Volkswagen Safari brochure, 1974. The VW Type 181 (AKA the Thing) was marketed in Mexico for a decade between 1970 and 1980 using the Safari model name. The floorpans for the Type 181 came from the Karmann Ghia, which used a wider floorpan than the Type 1 (Beetle).

from the compilation, KAKI-IN 1993・夏, released via troubadour record. this album dashes breakbeats with timbres one might expect to hear employed on trackers/personal computer sound chips of the early nineties. "edge of time" is pure fodder for imaginal videography, the cover girl like a hard drive tour guide for a paradisiac paradox, the convulsive sensory overload of the city reduced to the migration patterns of neon, veins of nighttime spires in a hypnotic pulse, the melty passion of the chorus clipping to whiplash, looking back breathlessly to see if you're still following. it incites bittersweet memories of emulating PC98 games when i was a preteen, then having the chance to play via floppy disc on a PC9821 much later.

attempting combat is going great, evidently. how did I even stay alive there?
anyway, about 2 more hours of combat later, I am -10k in credits and not that much more engaged than I would be hauling tourists or simply exploring
I don't dislike it, but it's really not my vibe even when in a ship I genuinely enjoy flying around. I think I'll look for some other fighting set-ups like frags or maybe rail guns and if those still not grab me I'll let it go
