Gallant Book Quote Rp Meme
Tumblr media
Book By V. E. Schwab- feel free to edit or change pronouns for rp purposes
“Stay with me. Stay with me. Stay with me.I would write the words a thousand times if they'd be strong enough to hold you here.”
“Tired can be a kind of sick, if it lasts long enough.”
“Every house has secrets”
“A place this wild, the outside is always trying to get in.”
“Safe does not mean happy, does not mean well, does not mean kind.”
“I am so happy. I am so scared. The two, it turns out, can walk together, hand in hand.”
“There is no rest in sleep. These dreams will be the death of me.” s
“Home is a choice.”
“Perhaps you are haunting me. What a comforting thought.”
“Put the right words into the world, never know what you’ll catch.”
“She knows too well what’s it like when people take one weakness and define you by it.”
“Ash holds its shape until you touch it.”
“After all, you can choose a thing after it’s chosen you.”
“To those who go looking for doors, are brave enough to open the ones they find, and sometimes bold enough to make their own.”
“I have live in this town all my life. But home is meant to be a choice. I did not choose this house. I am tired of being bound to it.”
“She has declared it a reading day. Nothing else to do when the weather turns.”
“Perhaps it is some primal need to face her fate, the same force that drives a girl to look beneath her bed, the knowledge that what you can’t see is always worse than what you can.”
"It does not matter what you want - the one way out is to be wanted by someone else.”
“Everything casts a shadow, even the world we live in. And as with every shadow, there is a place where it must touch. A seam, where the shadow meets its source.”
“A body needs sleep. Without it, the heart gets weak. The mind gets tired. And tired minds are pliable things.”
“It does not matter what you want—the only way out is to be wanted by someone else.”
“It is one thing to give death form. Another to breathe life back into it.”
“And dreams can never hurt you. Of course, she knows now it isn’t true. Dreams can make you hurt yourself, dreams can make you do so many things, if you’re not careful.”
“She has never had her own room, has always wondered how it would feel to have a space entirely hers, a door that she could close.”
“It does not matter what you want-the only way out is to be wanted by someone else.”
“This is a dream. It would be so easy to climb inside, to stay until it felt real, to never wake up.”
“I can shape death, but you can give it life.”
“Rain drums its fingers on the garden shed.”
And even if it turns out not to be a home, it is at least a house with family waiting in it.”
She hates that he can do that, that all he has to do to silence her is look away.”
“Free - such a small word for such a magnificent thing.”
“She would fight, and she would win.”
“It is the difference between a language spoken and one signed, the mouth shaping words while the hands shape more, words and thoughts and feelings.”
“But what is safe? Tombs are safe. Merilance was safe. Safe does not mean happy, does not mean well, does not mean kind.”
“How to exist in a world that does not want you. How to be a ghost in someone else’s home.”
“They are only dreams, she tells herself, every time she wakes. And dreams can never hurt you. That’s what her mother said. Of course, she knows now it isn’t true. Dreams can make you hurt yourself, dreams can make you do so many things, if you’re not careful.”
“But it is a heavy kind of silence, the one people use when they know the answer to something but can’t decide if they should tell it.”
“They are strange, even beautiful, organic things that shift & curl beyond the page, slowly resolving into shapes.”
“I slept in your ashes last night. It was like you laid your shadow down before you left. It smelled like hearth smoke and winter air. I made a blanket of the empty space. I pressed my cheek against the place where yours had been.”
“It was never this quiet when you were here. Isn’t that funny? How much sound a body makes. I hate the silence, hate the fact that I’m the only one making noise. I make so much of it, as if I can trick myself into thinking you’re here, just out of sight.”
“But the truth is, death is everywhere. Death comes for the roses and the apples, it comes for the mice and the birds. It comes for us all. Why should death stop us from living?”
In truth, everything her mother wrote feels like a riddle, waiting to be solved.”
“As if love is all they need. As if they have been placed under a curse and only love will set them free. She does not see the point in that: love did not save her father from illness and death. It did not save her mother from madness and loss. The girls say love, but what they really mean is want.”
“When people see tears, they stop listening to your hands or your words or anything else you have to say. And it doesn't matter if the tears are angry or sad, frightened or frustrated. All they see is a girl crying.”

THE INVISIBLE LIFE OF ADDIE LARUE PROMPTS *  assorted quotes from the book by v.e. schwab
books are a way to live a thousand lives, or to find strength in a very long one.
i simply want to be the one who breaks you.
this is how you walk to the end of the world.
dine with me.
was it real to you?
we can't help who we fall in love with.
the more you study, the less you believe in any of it.
time moves so fast.
you are not capable of love.
life always ends too soon.
in the end, everyone wants to be remembered.
were the instants of joy worth the stretches of sorrow?
i didn't think we were serious.
you have no desire to practice.
if you loved me, you would have let me go by now.
you don't know what you'll find until you step outside.
this is how you live forever.
the vexing thing about time is that it's never enough.
how can a thing not be real if it cannot be remembered?
stories are a way to preserve one's self.
love is hungry. love is selfish.
i loved that about them.
everyone else is a mile down the road.
what is a person, if not the marks they leave behind?
i remember you.
take your echoes and pretend they are a voice.
you're such a good friend.
it's easy to stay on the path when the road is straight and the steps are numbered.
i do not want to belong to someone else.
do not mistake this kindness.
take my life when i'm done with it.
time always ends a second before you're ready.
being forgotten is a bit like going mad.
dance with me.
tell me. was any of it real?
you better live a good life.
i just don't see us ending up together.
march is such a fickle month.
it does not seem such a bad word.
i was the night itself.
i am so tired of not having choices.
humans are so ill-equipped for peace.
what could i have done?
you've gotten lost.
cling to every moment until it's gone.
it's not you.
you deserve better.
it's just a storm.
you can have my soul when i don't want it anymore.
i do not want to belong to anyone but myself.
i am stronger than your god and older than your devil.
they say people are like snowflakes, each one unique.
nothing is all good or all bad.
you cannot leave a mark.
i would have lost my mind.
take a drink every time you hear you're not enough.
there is defiance in being a dreamer.
life can feel very long sometimes, but in the end, it goes so fast.
i don't want to lose you.
i set the pieces, and i choose when to play.
we're not on the same page.
blink, and the years fall away like leaves.
life is so much messier than that.
the greatest danger in change is letting the new replace the old.
it's amazing what you can learn when you have the time.
there's just something missing.
be with me.
never pray to the gods that answer after dark.
were the moments of beauty worth the year of pain?
let's stay friends.
i met someone.
it was just so... permanent.
you didn't come.
live long enough, and you learn how to read a person.
if you only walk in other people's steps, you cannot make your own way.
listen to me.
you didn't call.

On Art
I just remembered I had this thought but forgot to write about it so making a note here before I forget again.
Okay, so this was prompted by my brain remembering, out of nowhere, V.E. Schwab's The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and that led me down a rabbit hole of more thinking. My main point can be summarized as this:
In the 21st century, any form of art is seen as disconnected from the larger world around it.
I picked Addie LaRue because obviously, a book about art and books and literature with supposedly philosophical underpinnings would talk about the inherent connection of art to humanity. There is a tendency, I believe, in today's world to see art as an entirely separate realm: pure, beautiful, untouched by the messy realities of politics and war and humans being cruel and callous etc. It is a beautiful thing, it is a lovely thing, it is a redeeming thing. Creativity is a gift to be given for consumerism, to remind people that they are good no matter how rigged the systems are in the favour of the top 1%.
This is all true. Creativity is a gift.
But I think we forget that it depends upon the creator to utilize or manipulate it according to his own wishes. Addie LaRue presents art as this beautiful, humane thing entirely disconnected from the realities of war or politics. Actual history. The events that the main protagonist lived through are left out in favour of presenting this fairytale ideal, so wholesome that it connects all humans.
(Yes, I know I sound cynical)
Except, this fairytale-esque, profound connection was not the reality for several thousand groups for years. Yes, of course, there was joy. Everyone was creating art and writing books, all our cultures are replete with thousands of years' worth of beauty and knowledge. And of course, the book does not touch it. It is unabashedly Eurocentric, right down to its ideals of artistry and literature.
Because guess what sort of art the Europeans were also making c. 1700s-early 2000s :) You think those heroic portraits of Britannia or Germania were created for funsies :) just a cutesy little project for a cutesy little artist totally disconnected from what was happening in the larger world :)
Addie LaRue, as a protagonist, has the kind of features that allow her to move through the world with a certain level of comfort and anonymity. Had she been any other person in the world, the book would be called The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue.
Several other books take the same course even as they promise to tackle these prevalent issues in sff or historical fiction or any genre, really. A few familiar names pop into my mind. Even those in different genres, such as romance, seem detached from anything real, even if it's cultural joy or pride. They exist. They move towards the culmination of their arc or their love interests, quite anonymously like Addie LaRue. Their view of the world, and their art is entirely sanitized: hollowed out of any and all substance only to be pretty for an aesthetic, fit for consumption by everyone. There is this idea of appealing to an anonymous, universal gaze that is mostly white American (and quite obtrusive, because any reminders of actual history are panned and demonized, or simply brushed aside as happening in tHe OrIeNT). If you really think about it, this is how the world seems divided even today.
As Edward Said said in Culture and Imperialism (in context of the classics):
"Critics have often, I believe, relegated these writers' ideas about colonial expansion, inferior races... to a very different department from that of culture. Culture being the elevated area of activity in which they 'truly' belong and in which they did their 'really' important work."
Incredible how this is applicable to criticism in any way, shape or form today. In addition:
"Culture conceived in this way can become a protective enclosure: check your politics at the door before you enter it."
I think this idea has become extremely predominant in modern culture too. Art is equated to a disconnected aesthetic with no bearing on reality. And while I acknowledge that this approach is useful in reviewing a work without personal biases or based purely on our own enjoyment, completely stripping a text of its socio-political realities does not serve any purpose. The goal, to borrow Said's words again is to admire works for the pleasure and profit they give us while simultaneously observing "the imperial process of which they were manifestly and unconcealedly a part; rather than condemning or ignoring their participation in what was an unquestioned reality in their societies..."
To sum up, our constant struggle to achieve a pure and untouched aesthetic is ultimately fruitless because art is not created in a vacuum. It never will be. Art is born of human hands. You cannot run from its history any more than you can run from your own reality.

Thank you for the tag, @kastlequill <33
Rules: in a new post, post the names of all the files in your wip folder regardless of how nondescript or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them and then post a little snippet and tell us about it!
I have entirely too many wips, so here's a shortened list of my favourites by category and file name:
↬ oc — stallardfog_drabble (golpari afshar x saeda stallard); first (various ocs); reverend (yun ki-tae x aureliano van eir); vicious_au (various characters)
↬ jjk — persian_curtains (sugushoko); shovels_and_dirt (cowboy au); fools (sashisu, character study)
↬ bsd — round_here (skk); cigarettes_gravestones (platonic odazai);
↬ csm — right_side (kishibe, makima); like_lovers (akiangel)
Tumblr media
And, of course, the detailed list:
stallardfog drabble (stone; seek; sun; sink; swim)
Saeda Stallard x Golpari Afshar | timeline merge, future au, cod au | several parts
Up to her neck in red tape, it takes Golpari Afshar almost two decades to put aside her grudges and scrape together the courage to knock on the door of someone who only knows her through the tales of a kicked dog.
When Saeda Stallard took in the chemo-corroded love of her life to spend retirement (or what's left of it) together, she sure as fuck did not sign up for a tea party with his favourite bedtime story phantom.
first (first; fast)
Golpari Afshar x Kameshwari Rajaura x Yun Ki-tae | slice of live, dynamic study, love triangle | two part oneshot series
There is no such thing as soulmates, and Golpari thinks she'll be fine with that if it means basking in the radiance that is Kameshwari for a little while longer—even when she has to share it with someone else.
reverend
Aureliano van Eir x Yun Ki-tae | gods/fantasy au, if you will | oneshot
A ghost and a wayward devotee try their hand at being something lesser than gods.
vicious au
Various characters | au based on the vicious series by v.e. schwab | several parts
In which EON employs doctor Nina Reinwaldt as a means to expand their research personnel. A little too eager, and decidedly much too righteous, Nina quickly learns that their superior, accomplished pathologist Katrin Engel, is not the kind of woman one would want as an enemy. Meanwhile, Camile Rosales, dubbed “Cur” by the facility due to their savage streak, tries to navigate life as a captive. Thankfully, befriending her favourite guard is not too hard—if only for the fact that Kameshwari Rajaura might be just like her.
persian curtains series (the smoke; the flame; the glow)
Suguro Geto x Shoko Ieri | 70s AU | three part oneshot series, title is very liable to change
In which struggling medical student Ieri Shoko finds herself entranced by an enigmatic wannabe-cult leader who, by all means, has no qualms entertaining her curiosity.
(based on my favourite part of altar wine by david keenan)
shovels & dirt (a mouth full of rotten; a heart full of greed)
Kento Nanami x Yu Haibara | cowboy au | six part oneshot series
(Summary pending)
fools on the interstate
Shoko Ieri x Suguru Geto x Satoru Gojo | dynamic study | multi-chapter fic
In which Satoru, for all his six eyes are worth, cannot seem to see what his best friend is becoming, and Shoko refuses to pity either of them.
like lovers entwined (for the last time)
Aki Hayakawa x Angel Devil | kiss prompt fill | oneshot
It works in his favour—the fear that touching him might just kill someone. Angel's never been keen on company anyways, let alone company that invades his personal space. Until Aki. So they work something out.
right side of the wrong town
Makima & Kishibe | au? not really a character study, more so scenic vibe-based exploration of their dynamic | oneshot
He is too tired for polite conversation and decidedly too old to fall for cheap charms. So when the Control Devil offers him a match in exchange for company, Kishibe is willing to overlook the blatant irony of it all.
Or: A collection of dishonest exchanges.
'round here the quiet die young
Osamu Dazai x Chuuya Nakahara | post-fifteen arc filler | porential series
At the end of his proverbial rope, Dazai decides he's better off on a noose. Too bad Chuuya has had it with his antics.
ashing cigarettes on gravestones
Oda Sakunosuke & Dazai Osamu | epistolary novel (take the novel part very loosely) | multi-chapter fic
Oda has been writing letters to Dazai from the moment they met. Only after his death do they reach him.

Your writing is so smooth and fun to read. What are some of your favorite books or some novels that have inspired you? Thanks, would love to read more of your work in the future!
Oh boy oh boy oh boy
... I'll have mercy on dashes and put this under a cut.
So, first off, I must admit, my childhood was dedicated to collecting Warrior Cats books. I do not know what mark this has left upon me, but surely something.
I will also admit that I read books really fucking fast. Three+ chapter books in a school day, while still getting all my work done in AP classes. A book drops at midnight and I have finished it by 3 AM. It is who I am and I have many regrets, as well as the respect of every librarian I've come across in school. So that said, these books are the ones I've come back to, time and again:
Tamora Pierce - specifically the Circle of Magic quartet, Protector of the Small quartet, and the Hunt Records (Beka Cooper) but I've read almost all of her works, and went out of my way to buy physical copies to have on my shelves. The way she writes magic has definitely influenced how I write superpowers!
Katherine Addison - the Goblin Emperor, and the in-progress Cemeteries of Amalo trilogy. Her worldbuilding and details are fantastic, from the weaving of house politics to economy to Opera kids being Like That. I haven't had a chance to try her other works yet, so I'll stick to just those for now!
Xiran Jay Zhao - Iron Widow, for its prose as much as its rage. A hallmark for making sure I'm unapologetic about how powerful my characters can be.
Martha Wells - I will always recommend the Murderbot series, but I also dearly love the Legends of the Raksura books for how they take a very alien world and non-human protagonists, and make them feel intimately familiar!
V.E. Schwab - I've fallen out of keeping up with her books, but I think those of you who enjoyed 'Call Me Menace' and 'Villains Never Retire' would also like Vicious, one of her novels about a different villain and hero pair who aren't quite what their roles imply!
Megan Wheeler Turner - The Queen's Thief series, if you at all enjoyed some of the humor in my work, I think you'll love these books. Eugenides and Synovus would either get on like a house on fire or immediately try and kill each other, and I'm not sure which would be more terrifying to witness. (Note, these are not comedy books, and I also recommend them for the plot and prose alike!)
And, of course:
Joy Demorra - Hunger Pangs, for supernatural polyamory and making use of the spaces in tropes that mainstream media misses, and for being a major inspiration as a chronically ill writer. (You may know her as theBibliosphere here on tumblr)
I'll also give a shoutout to @caffeinewitchcraft , for being the main reason I felt interested in writing a prompt response at all!

Summer Reading Challenge 2.0 - this has got to be my personal favourite prompt. i'm a sucker for a good heist story ☀︎
Tumblr media
Portrait of a Thief by Grace D. Li
Harvard art history student Will Chen is offered a job: 50 million dollars if he succeeds in bringing five priceless sculptures from prestigious museums in Europe and the US back to where they were originally stolen from - the Old Summer Palace in China. Together with his sister, a getaway driver, a hacker, and the son of an FBI investigator, he plans to return the artwork to where it belongs. An Ocean’s Eleven-esque story discussing perspectives on Chinese American identity and the aftermath of colonialism. (blurb by @dreamofghosts)
An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green
Looking for something exciting, the next remarkable thing, April May stumbles into a world of fame, conspiracy and mystery when she goes viral as first contact between humans and the (possibly alien) Carls. The robot-like solid statues suddenly appear in 12 places across the globe and leave the world community with two pressing questions: Who are they? What do they want? If you like Hank Green’s content, the Green brothers’ podcast, AI and urban sci-fi or internet shenanigans you’re gonna love this. I read this in one night. The category is: I wish I could read this for the first time again. (blurb by @bennistudies)
[more recommendations below the cut]
Tumblr media
MORE GRIPPING HEIST STORIES: ☀︎ Six of Crows - Leigh Bardugo ☀︎ Beneath the Citadel - Destiny Soria ☀︎ The Gilded Wolves - Roshani Chokshi ☀︎ The Last Magician - Lisa Maxwell
THRILLING MAGICAL QUESTS: ☀︎ The Hobbit - J.R.R. Tolkien ☀︎ The Lightning Thief (PJO #1) - Rick Riordan ☀︎ A Darker Shade of Magic - V.E. Schwab ☀︎ Dragon Keeper - Robin Hobb

‘fine, yeah, it’s stupid, right? you caught me.’
‘I don’t think you’re a bad person.’
‘it’s all a matter of perspective.’
‘did you know that when you take away a person’s fear of pain, you take away their fear of death? you make them, in their own eyes, immortal.’
‘someone tried to kill me.’
‘why would someone try to kill you?’
‘you asked me if I ever wanted to believe in something. I do. I want to believe in this.’
‘I want to believe that there’s more. that we could be more.’
‘nothing you ever do, (name), is meant to be theoretical. I see it in you.’
‘I think you’ve had enough.’
‘i’ll go first.’
‘actually, I’m feeling fine. better than. I feel wonderful. I feel like roses and sunshine and glitter.’
‘you need to live through this. you need to.’
‘my hero. now fuck off.’
‘you can’t do this alone. so promise me you won’t.’
‘have you lost your mind?’
‘we can get you help.’
‘this is crazy. you’re crazy.’
‘I want you to know that I will never, ever forgive you for this.’
‘did you love her? or are you just mad I took something back?’
‘I didn’t rat you out, you know. I could have.’
‘I don’t know who you are but you’re not (name). you’re something that’s crawled in his skin. a devil wearing him.’
‘something’s wrong, missing, gone. can’t you feel it? I can.’
‘admit it, you feel different, too. death takes something with it. what did it take from you?’
‘no one is going to hurt you, you know why? because I’ll hurt them first.’
‘would that be so bad? to create something extraordinary?’
‘all these roads lead to ruin.’
‘I died begging for the strength to survive and it was granted. but it’s a trade.’
‘it’s a trade, with god or the devil, and I’ve paid for my gift with the lives of my friends.’
‘i’m dangerous. I shouldn’t exist. but what gives you the right to kill me?’
‘everything about you is chock full of self - loathing. i’m not judging. I know the feeling.’
‘you know, maybe I should let you kill me.’
‘you’re right. even though we come back, something stays dead. lost. we forget something of who we are.’
‘it’s scary and wonderful and monstrous.’
‘you’re the hero … of your own story.’
‘what gives you the right to play judge and jury and executioner?’
‘want me to kiss it? will that make it better?’
‘I know you. I see you.’
‘I don’t want to be forgotten,’
‘tell you what. you remember me, and I’ll remember you, and that way we won’t be forgotten.’
‘that’s shit logic.’
‘you make cheating death sound so simple.’
‘being afraid and being unwilling are two different things.’
‘I don’t think you want to die.’
‘the world resists, when you break its rules.’
‘I see you’re still alive then. good choice.’
‘if u didn’t know better, i’d think you care.’
‘you think I’m wrong somehow. broken.’
‘I think we’re all broken.’
‘you can’t fix the dead, (name). and besides, it’s not your place to try.’
‘it’s not your place to control people’s lives.’
‘who taught you to sing so loud? the (name) I knew could barely chirp.’
‘I need you to be brave. I need you to be strong.’
‘there are worse ways to die. and worse things to do than die.’
‘I promise I’ll make it quick.’
‘there was a monster in there, long before you died.’

A Collection
Welcome to the writing side-blog! Main is @cauliflowermaterial, so that's how you'll know I'm following you.
I write snippets of larger stories that live in my brain and for prompts. I'll be reblogging whatever I like here—mainly writing prompts, dialogue lines, and angst.
AO3 account is under the same name (CakeintheVoid)
Masterlists/writing below the cut:
My Stories:
Sticks and Stones -> Set in a fantasy world that follows Liam, a cynical sculptor who, as a result of elaborate scheming, is forced to be a resident artist for an extravagant baron who loves to host parties that are the talk of the town.
Includes: art, some magic, parties
Carrie and Willow! -> Follow Carrie, a product of the institute and caretaker to various patients that need specialized/individual care. They receive Willow, who doesn't seem to speak at all—and who is rated a a danger to public safety. Can Carrie help them find themself again?
Includes: recovery, rehabilitation, non-verbal whumpee, caretaker&whumpee, and interactive prompt fills! Find it by searching for #Carrie and/or #Willow
Still Feel -> Revolves about the life of Lora, a young human who gets turned into a skeleton by more than mad scientist Dr Abberon.
Includes: medical experimentation, transformation, magic, found family, a whole load of angst, and eventual recovery.
Vigilante -> Takes place in V.E. Schwab's world in the Villains series, post Vengeful. Follow Auretta, a girl who was strangled to death and resuscitated—now she has air manipulation powers. It's all about finding community and acceptance (...with angst and hurt/comfort, and perhaps some canon character cameos)
Includes: sketchy thesis projects, captivity and restraints, superpowers, heroes and villains, and becoming powerful.
Running Like a Light -> Follow the escape of an alien from captivity after being bought and sold to space pirates.
Includes: mage activities, bodily harm, disability, abuse, violence, adventure and finding a new way to live.
Warm-Ups and Oneshots:
It Was Literally Just a Pen
Cry, Baby, Cry
Drink Rum, Drink Rum, Drink Rum and some other Whumptober2023 one shots. I could only do about the first week of the event.
Tumblr media
This is a new pinned post because we are going into phase two** of the blog :) Everything before this point will have the 'in the void' tag.
(I'm not doing that anymore)
Trying my best with the tag system but since this blog is just a fun side thing for me, I'm not going to try and go crazy with it. For my own sake, below are some blog tags:
#my cake (for anything I write myself hehe)
#answered — for ask responses
#not my cake — not my writing tag
#writing prompt
#whump prompt — tagged separately from average writing prompts
#whump — there's enough of it to justify it
+ wip names, oc names, and media
Cheers if you made it this far!

November 2022 Book Goals
Tumblr media
Ahh, November the month where I debate if wearing a cute skirt outside is worth it or not depending on how cold it is. Also, plenty of hot chocolate and soup. Can't wait for a cozy month of reading. I don't have a particular theme for this month as I have so many books from October to get through. My priorities for the month are doing my bets to finish the Horror Aficionado Challenge and the 2022 Popsugar Reading Challenge.
I have four prompts left for the Horror Aficionado Challenge and these are the four books I plan on reading for them:
Bat 🦇 Autumn Nights
Cat 🐱‍👤Ghostly: a collection of Ghost Stories
Treats 🍬🍭Tastes Like Candy
Zombie 🧟‍♀️ The City Grew Monsters
For the Popsugar Challenge I have 7 prompts left and these are my planned reads:
A book set on a plane, train, or cruise ship: Still unsure
A book with a tiger on the cover or "tiger" in the title: Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi or When You Trap a Tiger by Tae Keller
A book with cutlery on the cover or in the title: Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner
An Anisfield-Wolf Book Award winner: There There by Tommy Orange or Deacon King Kong by James McBride
A book that takes place during your favorite season: Something Christmasy but I'm not sure what yet
A book with a reflected image on the cover or "mirror" in the title: Gallant by V.E. Schwab
A book about a band or musical group: The Girl With Stars In Her Eyes by Xio Axelrod
Considering all this my book goal is 7 books for the month. Low but I just started a new job and on one hand it requires a lot of my time, on the other commuting around NYC makes for the perfect reading opportunities.
Book Goal: 7 books 📕
Dream Goal: 15 books 📚
Other books I plan on reading:
The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley
Madly Deeply the diaries of Alan Rickman
Ace : What Asexuality Receals about Desire, Scoiety, and Meaning by Angela Chen (Finished as of the first of November)
My Policeman by Bethan Roberts
Stolen Tongues by Felix Blackwell
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath (if the audiobook comes early)
I'm Glad My Mom Died (if audiobooks comes early) by Jeanette McCurdy
