WHO IS HE?

Also known as Ashmodai, Asmodeus, Asmody, Asmoday; appears as a Great King 'Asmoday' in the Ars Goetia, where he is said to have a seal in gold and is listed as number thirty-two according to respective rank. He "is strong, powerful and appears with three heads; the first is like a bull, the second like a man, and the third like a ram or a goat; the tail of a serpent, and from his mouth issue flames of fire." Also, he sits upon an infernal dragon, holds a lance with a banner, and amongst the Legions of Amaymon, Asmoday governs seventy two legions of Spirits.

Asmodeus is one of the “seven princes of hell,” a demon whose wickedness is matched only by his talent. He specializes in spreading lust, and he doesn’t just prey on common people. Kings, queens, and even divine beings have been affected by his touch!

BASIC INFO:

Appearance: a strong and attractive young man with shoulder-length black hair, fiery orange-yellow eyes (like burning embers), black draconic wings, and ram horns. When angered, his hair catches in flames and burns to become short, blazing like embers. His horns become more prominent, and his eyes become even more fiery. He goes into battle with a staff or sword commonly, but sometimes with a mace. The dragon he is sometimes seen riding is a trusted friend of his from ages past. He can also appear as a bull or ram, which are aspects of his. His traditional art which shows him as having three heads is simply a symbolization of this. 

Personality: Asmodeus is tremendously strong at heart and holds a great deal of wisdom and passion. Overall, he has a very resilient and noble attitude, and is also connected to lust and domination, as he indulges in sexual pleasures. Asmodeus enjoys luxury and sensuality, but can also be very dark and serious when needed, and can become quickly impatient with those who earn his disfavour. He can also feel war-like at times, but in a way that is similar to heroism. But his darker side, however, is called Asmodai, who is one of the most destructive and terrifying of all the demons.

Asmodeus is a master of emotions and knows how to rapidly gain favour by playing to the emotions of crowds, masses, or even single persons. He doesn’t have to lie, he simply uses emotional reasoning to appeal to peoples’ hearts in order to be convincing. He tends to be very kind-hearted, loyal, passionate, and steadfast.

10 tips for low energy/executive dysfunction/autistic paganism:

i like to use an oracle deck instead of a tarot deck, since it takes less energy and there’s less to memorize

devote pretty much anything to your deities! when i’m eating citrus, i try to devote that to Apollon

prayers (if you’re into that) can be as simple as saying “thank you ___ for ___”

i spent money on pre-made book of shadows pages that i printed out because i didn’t have to motivation or the energy to make my own book, which i highly recommend if you have the funds!

spells don’t have to be full-fledged potions or charms, doing little “superstitions” we did as kids count (wishing on 11:11 or a dandelion, crossing your fingers for good luck, etc)

it’s important for a lot of pagans (and other witches) to create things, but if that’s difficult for you there’s no shame in buying things! just make sure to buy ethically sourced products

instead of decorating my altar space for each season, i make altar jars! i put seasonal elements together in a jar and use that as my ode to the season

if i don’t feel like i can do anything for a holiday, i just do one thing. example: for Beltane, text a friend how much you care about them

when you have more energy, make a sigil that you can keep around you when your energy is lower

little incantations at the beginning of the day, kind of like Magick affirmations!

First off, everyone who entered the Samhain Exchange, you've been emailed your prompts!!

Secondly, thank you to everyone who participated in the final Talder Week!!! Even though it's over people can still fill prompts for any of the Talder Weeks that have happened.

Going forward I most likely won't do another Talder Week with how low participation was for this Talder Week. I've also decided to do just a few exchanges next year. Not all of them. I'm thinking of just doing the Beltane and Yule exchanges and skipping Valentines Day, Summer Solstice, and Samhain.

Let me know if people would like me to continue those but since the participation count is dwindling, I think just doing Beltane and Yule is enough.

I've had this (joke) theory for quite some time: The Unseelie Court controls the packaged candy industry.

Think about it. What are the big candy holidays? Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Easter. They all fall between Samhain (October 31) and Beltane (May 1), the period of the year when the Unseelie Court holds sway. And of course faeries are known for tempting humans with delectable food such as no pre-industrial peasant could ever hope to taste. The reality:  Alder really likes when Tally and Nicte pull her hair so she's adopted the new style so no one else gets that privilege. Day 3 of Nictalder week: Domestic fluff.

there isn't a analogue specifically to Valentine's Day, but there is one to what is more or less the OG version, Beltane (also known as/folded into May Day, because it takes place on May 1st in the northern hemisphere, though it ironically enough falls on October 31st here in the southern hemisphere lmao). nobody really knows where the tradition came from, but the rumour is that Heart's Rule (the festival in question) and Moon's Shadow (the Samhain analogue) are the two holiest holidays in the Warp, and were taught to humanity by the elves, fairies, satyrs and centaurs who live there.

for obvious reasons the gods don't look terribly kindly on celebrating that sort of thing so in the cities/under the watchful eye of the church the most you'll usually get is fancy themed parties. proposals and marriages are common and indeed fashionable around that time because it's thought that the gods will favour you with luck in romantic endeavours at that time of year, even though there's no specific deity of love or other relationships.

the further you get away from the cities however, the more the festival takes on an element of... bacchanalian excess. you should always be careful celebrating Heart's Rule out in the country though! on a night like that, who can say if your lovely dance partner and their seductive eyes are even human...

as for how the ROs would like to spend it (assuming that they're in a relationship with mc) (under the cut because long lmao):

Arianis prefers the high society balls to the more rowdy parties, surprisingly - it's not that they don't like the revelry, but they tend to attract the attention of too many jilted spouses. taking mc to a fancy costume party and seeing how many betrothals and noble marriages the pair can ruin in one night would honestly be the Highlight of their year lmao

Heluur is not particularly big on parties, for a number of reasons (hard to travel to them, for one thing, and Loud, for another), but he would find the idea of mc choosing to spend time with him on that day very romantic. probably his ideal Heart's Rule night is a quiet night in together, maybe observing some particularly wild hijinks that his friends are getting up to on the chaos mirrors. if you tell him that giving chocolates is traditional, he Will acquire some for your mc, even if the gods only know how.

Lithiana is very happy to throw a party of any kind for any reason, though she'd prefer to keep it in Hell for reasons of not freezing to death or being hunted down by angry Inquisitors. the good thing about that is that demons REALLY know how to cut loose at a party, and they're less liable to accidentally hurt each other than carousing humans (or at least more likely to survive if they do). planning something fun for everyone to do together with mc would make her really happy.

Malkorath is another not-party person; their ideal way to celebrate would be to spend the whole day totally alone with mc, but they don't particularly care what they'd be doing. they DEFINITELY want chocolates though... on this And every other day haha.

Suchebh is kind of ambivalent about Heart's Rule, to be honest. most of the stuff that everyone is indulging in is kind of their ordinary MO already, and it's a bit. Weird for them, the idea of showing up to a party for Someone Else's booze and sex festival. where's THEIR big party huh?? on any given year they're most likely to spend the evening sulking and instructing their warlocks to cause havoc, but their ideal way to spend it would probably be. something centred around them. and if they're lucky, something that can make them totally forget it's happening lmao.

Twilit is not Ordinarily a party kind of person, but they're in a friend-of-a-friend kind of situation with The Horned King who rules over the Warp, so Heart's Rule and Moon's Shadow are their two exceptions, though they prefer to celebrate both of them in the Warp with him. they'd be more than happy to take mc with them... though it's sure to be an extremely wild night.
