Now let it be said that not a single one of their team (“Does it count as a team if it’s just the three of us?” “Um, what about the Superman clone here??” “Four was the same number of the original League, so yeah we’re a team!”) were expecting to stumble across much of anything deeper in the Cadmus Labs. 

They’d already discovered- and released- the super secret super-boy clone after all, so that was the big thing discovered and taken care of! Only they had uh, found something else, another tube even deeper with the room practically frozen, while trying to find the way out. 

Now normally, opening the big tube would be a bad idea! But they had a bunch of creatures and security and whoever else on their tails, and hey, why not fight fire with fire and escape while everything was distracted? 

Only when things start to defrost they- the sidekicks who are not sidekicks thanks- are really alarmed and starting to worry about what the fuck is inside. Because the cryogenic-liquid-whatever tube is way bigger than they thought, and the files that Robin hacked refers to whatever is inside as a quote, potentially world-ending dangerous entity. 

And it’s not even fully defrosted before it starts to break free. One clawed hand- and then another, and another and another- grip onto the broken material, green dripping from where tubes were shrugged free. Its hair shifts and weaves in the air as though underwater, opalescent and each strand shimmering a different color. 

It’s absolutely massive, humanoid with long tapered ears and a cacophony of differently shaped horns floating above its head. They’re wary, suddenly remembering every single lecture about dangerous unknowns as it shakes the liquid from a body that appears almost scaled, eight arms easily lifting itself so that it may step out. 

They’re also suddenly reminded of the danger they’re in from other things when there’s a crash against the door, like one of those gynomorph tank things had slammed against it. It also causes the being’s head to snap up from where they were seemingly watching the liquid pool beneath them, nine eyes opening from their previously half-lidded position. 

A deep rumbling noise echoed around the room as it stopped slouching, showing just how tall it was while three tails lashed in what was obviously some sort of agitation. When they speak, it’s not in any language the three of them know, but Superboy’s head snaps from the door towards them, eyes suddenly wide in child-like wonder.

Before Cyberpunk 2077, I generally played games and moved on. Only Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age: Inquisition compelled me to read fic and, another playthrough later, write it myself. But neither of those times did I build up my Shepard or Inquisitor. All I knew about her was the backstory I chose and as much detail as the story necessitated.

But something different happened with Val. As I was writing No One's Gonna Love You, which starts with the moment I fell for Mitch, I fell in love with Val. She had grown to be a fully realized character somewhere along the line, with hopes and fears beyond the short term goal of hooking up with Mitch surviving Mikoshi. I really connected with her grief over Jackie, and participating in ask memes and chatting with friends helped me flesh out her lore even further.

I've been writing for a long time, and character creation is a place where I struggle in my original work. That is part of the reason fanfic holds such a draw for me—I can take established characters and play with them instead—so having an OC as developed as Val is a real point of pride for me. I'm still finding things out about her, but I know so much already.

And why not one more? I'm a writer, we love threes

he'd handle the small trinket you made for him with so much care and delicacy, you'd think it was made out of glass. and once he was finished admiring your creation, (though, that would take a while.) he'd immediately blurt out a high-pitched "for me??"

he just struggles to comprehend why someone as talented as you would use your creative abilities for him? he's so used to being overlooked that even the thought of being the recipient of your artistry is almost unfathomable. :(

leo would turn your creations over and over in his hands, silently memorizing every detail, as if he's afraid that your work might vanish if he takes his eyes off of it.

and his reaction?? always stays the same?? no matter how long its been?? you'd present your work to him and he'd be so theatrically shocked. like full on gasping and lowkey fighting for his life as if he hadn't expected the gift at all, even though you'd been showering him with your creations for the past month.

but once he gets past that point?? he becomes almost obnoxious about it. 💀 he'd sit in the dining pavilion so proudly, your little knickknack perched right next to him with the full intent of somebody asking him about it JUST so that he could ramble about you.

literally ONE person would bring it up, just to make small conversation, and he'd be like, "oh, THIS?? it was made by MY partner, for ME, by the way. but no big deal, y'know."

waited his entire life for that moment fr.

i completely mean it when i say leo would sweep ALL the belongings from his shelf to showcase even ONE item you made for him in all its glory. front and center. his siblings are so confused.

but if you start regularly gifting him things and blessing him with your artistry on a daily basis? he'll dedicate an entire shelf to your creations. and it's so funny because the rest of his area is so cluttered and disorganized, with random unfinished projects laying around without a second thought, bed not even made, but the shelf above his bunk?? the one with all your creations sitting on it?? it's so neat?? organized and color coded and everything?? it almost looks out of place.

even when you're away on quests, he still admires the creations you've left behind, tenderly cradling them in his hands and running his fingers over every curve and edge, as though you were still with him in the moment. :((

after some time, the gifting thing would turn into running joke between you two. a game of one-upmanship where every gift had to be better than the last. like if you made him a small sculpture out of clay, he would show up at your cabin the next day with a BOUNTY full of creations he made himself, along with a bouquet of flowers that he borrowed with no intention of giving back (stole) from the demeter kids to top it all off. <3

you'd make him one thing and he makes you ten more, he's so whipped.

leo would cherish your gifts so much, like he's almost scared of ruining them. especially if your gift is something that is SUPPOSED to be worn, like a ring of some sort. he'd proudly wear it around camp, obviously, but he'd check on it every few minutes to make sure it hadn't magically vanished from his finger. or worse, broke.

of course, leo knows he could fix it if it became damaged, but it wouldn't be the same. it wouldn't have your charm and artistry, your unique touch that made it so special.

all in all, leo is so enamored with your creativity, but judging by his actions, you probably already knew that.

Danny Phantom in YJ but its ALL of team phantom

so this idea assumes DP is set in the DC verse and Danny's identity is revealed to the town during Reign Storm. His parents accept him like in the series finale, and the town, grateful for being saved from Pariah Dark, has an unspoken rule not to sell out Danny's secret identity to outsiders (mainly the GIW).

All the Amity Park vigilantes are working together at this point, but the public dosent really know it. Now that they're no longer hunting their son's alter ego the Fenton parents continue doing their thing, but now they make gear specifically for their ghost son to use without it backfiring on him (mostly). Jazz gets some of the ghosts to do interviews and eventually branches out into ghost psychology, something that her parents had neglected to study before now.

Danny, Sam, and Tucker continue ghost wrangling, but the supervision of the Fentons proves to be surprisingly helpful and the trio finds that they have more time to pursue other things (space, eco-witchcraft, and tech respectively). Tucker and Sam's parents are on the fence about their friendship with Danny. Angela and Maurice Foley are talked down from their worries after Tucker points out that the dangerous ghost stuff will happen regardless, so he might as well have the local vigilante on speed dial. Jeremy and Pamela Manson are harder to convince. They're used to having to pick their battles when it comes to Sam's goth, ultra recyclo vegetarian lifestyle, but on this they're not budging. They try to restrict Sam's contact with her friends and even go so far as to get a restraining order. Sam is increasingly fed up with their controlling behavior and, inspired by the Infi-Map, Sam breaks into the ghost zone in search of an artifact that would give her power so that she would never be trapped. Obviously Danny goes in after her, but then Sam's parents storm the Fenton house to take back their daughter and accidentally fall into the ghost portal, so Tucker takes the Specter Speeder and goes in after them. By the time the Fenton Parents return home everyone is back and the Manson's have given in to Sam's determination.

Valerie Gray initially continues to operate on her own. She maintains a frenemy status with Team Phantom due to her mixed feelings on Danny's civilian and ghostly personas, between that and the revelation of Vlad's villainous career Valerie's worldview is really shaken. She throws herself into vigilantism and hers dad gets really concerned when Valerie starts running herself ragged. In a last ditch effort to make her stop Damon Grey goes to the towns ghost hunting experts and begs them for an intervention. The Fenton parents agree and the three of them sit down with her for a talk about safe ghost hunting practices. This fails to stop her, but the Fentons refuse to give up on the 'Junior Ghost Hunter' and start inviting themselves on her patrols .Things come to a head when Dark Danny travels back in time to ensure his creation. Seeing how desperate Danny is to avoid becoming evil, and fighting alongside the Fentons convinces Valerie that its okay to count on others and slow down and take care of herself. (and also the Fentons are low-key inescapable)

Pariah Dark's incursion through Amity Park was the last straw needed for the Infinity Realms to start really breaking into reality. There was already some leakage (see lazarus pits) but this was the last straw for a problem that has been brewing for thousands of years now. Life in Amity Park continues normally, because to them ghost stuff is normal, but for the rest of the world its a different matter.

The Justice League is going around dealing with the sudden influx of supernatural nonsense. The ghost attacks range from minor nuisance to city-wide threat. The magic leaugers are trying to find the source, but it's Batman who identifies Amity Park as 'Ground Zero' for ghostly nonsense.

also something something Amanda Waller and the GIW either team up or become rivals.

This elegant tiara features diamond scrolls and festoons with round pearl embellishments and a base that can be swapped for either diamonds or more pearls. The tiara originally belonged to Esther, Duchess of Glencairn, supposedly purchased as a wedding gift. It was later inherited by her youngest daughter, Princess Valerie of Glencairn in 1988. Valerie seems to favour this tiara over the Glencairn fringe. hi wondering if you have any recs for writing that addresses slash criticizes the concept of oppositional defiant disorder specifically?

Marisa Barnhart's 2017 paper in the Journal of Progressive Human Services is the only thing i know off the top of my head that's specific to the ODD diagnosis. it's pretty basic application of Foucault, Ahmed, Canguilhem, Donzelot, &c to challenge the pathologisation of youth resistance that ODD accomplishes. there's also Valerie Harwood's book Diagnosing 'Disorderly' Children (2005), which is not exclusively about ODD but about dx of juvenile 'behaviour disorders' generally. it's kind of limited in good and bad ways by its investigative scope being heavy on sociological interviews and i thought some of the stuff on ADHD and Ritalin was a bit facile. im positive there's more writing on ODD specifically but you'd have to do some digging.

if you go a bit broader, there's definitely lots of writing on juvenile 'delinquency' in general and on 'conduct disorder', which in theory is ddx'd from ODD but in practice is pretty fuzzily overlapped with it. eg, Laura Hirshbein has written on dx of juvenile 'delinquency', or Katie Wright on the creation of the 'normal' vs pathological child, &c.

She heard a footstep coming closer to her and she looked up to see him and turned her head back to watch the ocean again.

"Ocean comforts you?" he asked and she nodded "I see," he said standing behind you "Those sounds of waves made my entire mind peace," she said "Maybe one day I face death i want to touch the ocean water and feel the cold breeze and the sound of waves till my time ends" she added she has been thinking if one day she will be dead.

She heard a movement and she turned her head and saw him walking in front of her, "Why would you say that" he said sounding mad about it "I don't want you to be dead, I won't let that happen" he added looking at her with the desire of not letting you go.

"If the death themself took you I will punish them with an eternity of dread and I will defy them you don't remember I'm the eldritch god I'm the Ruler of Chaos and Creations the existence of reality is in my hands".

"If that happens I will bring you back and make you immortal and keep you with me in the abyss of void, outside of reality" he said and he kneeled in front of her and took her hands slowly caressing with his finger up and down to her arms.

He took both of her hands and reached them to his lips and kissed them looking at her with a full desire of love then tentacles wrapped around both of her arms, "You are mine you are my eternity love, and I'll never let you away from me" slowly kissing her hands the tentacles wrap tightly around her arms.

"Remember that darling"
