Tossdir: vampires have standards??
Meneldir: …allegedly.
#I do not have any lore for these two in Skyrim#there is no equivalent of the Dunedain here lol#I’m honestly considering just saying this is normal Middle Earth Tossdir and Meneldir and they just got isekai’d into Tamriel lmao#it was like *falls into a dimensional rift* ‘guess I’ll Hunt Vampires’ *shrug.*#anyway I think they don’t trust Serana all that much considering their experience with Literally Every Other Vampire Ever#but they might become friends eventually#not super close but y’know. on good terms at least#this has GOT to be my most unhinged crossover yet#and before you ask no I’m not writing a fic about this lmao#any Lore:tm: I work out is solely for use in my playthrough and occasionally posting jokes about#Meneldir in Skyrim#Skyrim#Serana

I uploaded this to unvale but I’ve just remembered like the purpose of tumblr and now had a reason to post welcome aboard the yap boat I am your captain, please listen and you may also speak idc lmao
Anyways here Casimir and Lance interaction I wrote (not entirely canon but it’s along the lines of what happens)
———
Lance held his plasma gun up to the Donoar leader who was sitting in a poorly made chair in front of him in the large warehouse, fury etched into his eyes. He finally did it, he was finally going to find those missing people and bring them home, after all these years of running around it was over. Justice would be served.
“Where are they, Polaris?” Lance demanded, poking the cyborg with the tip of his gun.
Polaris just looked at Lance with a mischievous look, the man was unable to smile due to his fully metal faceplate but Lance could tell he would've had a large grin on his face if he could.
Lance's eyes narrowed.
“WHERE ARE THEY?!” He shouted, using the handle of his gun to strike Polaris’ shoulder.
Polaris simply grunted.
“They're right here, Winters.” Polaris chuckled and pointed to himself, “They've been with you the whole time-”
Lance struck him again but this time in the jaw.
“Dont fuck with me, Polaris!” Lance hissed.
Polaris didn't chuckle anymore he just stared up at the detective but then his eyes started to fall, not figuratively, not looking at the ground, Polaris’ eyes literally fell out of his face and bounced onto the floor in front of Lances feet, a small splatter of blood appearing beneath them.
The detective was so taken aback he nearly dropped his gun. Did Polaris just die in front of him? But how, what in the name of Selia just happened?
But thats when he heard the familiar chuckle of Polaris as the Donoar leader lifted his head and Lance stared into the empty sockets, a shiver running down his spine.
“You know detective, you were the only person I ever had to worry about during all this, it seemed like you could see right through my disguises.” Polaris’ voice seemed to go more high pitched as he stood, he didn’t sound like Polaris anymore and soon he started to look less like Polaris as his metal skin seemed to melt away and become a bright orange fur coat.
“But I was always three steps ahead of you regardless…”
The creature that once resembled Polaris pushed Lance backwards with one clawed hand and stood fully. The creature grabbed the metal faceplate and removed it to reveal an eyeless smiling face.
It was at least a foot taller than Lance, it still wore Polaris’ outfit but it didn’t fit the creature's lanky body at all.
This begged the question, where was Polaris? How had he been chasing a man who didn’t even exist? But that wasn’t possible, Lance knew Polaris before he left. But then it clicked.
“I thought all the shifters were purged during the first night war” Lance whispered. He had read about shifters, werewolf like shifting but instead of a wolf it was anyone you desired but it came with the cost of your own eyes.
The creature laughed.
“Oh you catch on quick I must admit. But that is only half of what I am. I am something greater than you will ever know.”
Lance narrowed his eyes. Great Selia, he didn’t have time for games.
The detective leveled his gun back at the creature.
“Where are the missing people?”
The creature looked disappointed and just stared at the detective.
“You’re no fun, Winters.” He sighed, then he reached for the collar of the detectives shirt.
Lance gasped and shot at the creature but it was too late.
The creature slammed Lance into the ground with such force he broke through the floor and into a basement like area but he couldn’t see because of the dust.
Lance gasped and coughed, blood spitting from his mouth. He’d never seen anyone with such power like that.
“Wh-what…the…” Lance coughed in disbelief, more blood pooled out of his mouth and he swore under his breath. He couldn’t be having a blood issue right now, it wasn’t the time.
Lance heard a scraping sound from somewhere in the darkness and for the first time he was truly afraid, he didn’t know what else this thing was capable of. He slowly crawled away from where he fell to try and find somewhere to hide while blood dripped from his mouth.
“Ooohhh now this is fun, detective…I enjoy this game very much.” The creatures voice echoed through the dark empty basement.
“But I need to find you, I can’t continue my plans without you.”
Lance continued to crawl through the darkness blindly. He didn’t want to know what it had planned for him, he needed to find an exit and fast.
“It will be wonderful, you’ll see. I will bring an age of fiery peace to my people and a fiery death to yours. Your people will learn how it feels to be hidden away and I will be a god amongst men once more.” The sound of metal scraping on the wall after he spoke made Lance crawl faster and soon he found a room and he slowly got to his feet to enter.
“But I can’t do this without you detective, you must help…” but the creatures voice faded as Lance entered the room and closed the door.
Lance was breathing heavily and coughed slightly. In the darkness of the room he held his hands out to try and find a switch of some kind. His fingers intertwined with a small piece of thread that seemed to be held up by something on the ceiling, a pull light. Lance pulled it and the dark room lit up with a dim light.
He blinked, getting used to the light and he looked around for an exit but the room was empty besides a tarp that covered a shelf in the corner.
Curiosity got the better of Lance as he neared the shelf that was hidden away, placing his hand on the old leather tarp and tearing it away to reveal something that would change Lance forever.
Eyes.
all of them placed neatly next to each other. They were dead but Lance felt as though they were staring at him, judging him, a feeling of fear and unforgiveness filled the room.
It was them, the missing people, they were all here but only part of them.
Lance was going to scream when a voice interrupted him.
“Beautiful, aren't they detective?” The creature spoke. How long had he been there?
“They all kept me safe for all these years.”
Lance was silent before he turned around to attempt to attack the creature, his hand balled into a fist but then he felt a terrible sharp pain and the sound of tearing flesh was near deafening.
The creature simply chuckled as Lance looked down to see a large metal pipe embedded into his chest.
Lance stumbled backwards but the creature grabbed him before he could fall to the ground and pulled him close to his face.
“You are part of something greater than you realize, detective. I need your little friend to bestow you with whatever Selia left behind on this mortal plane and I thought I’d help give that little rabbit a push.” The creature tapped the metal pipe and Lance winced.
“Nonsense…S-Selia is just a-a-a myth…I don’t believe…in gods” Lance sputtered, his coughing spit blood onto the creatures face but it looked unfazed only hurt by what Lance had said.
“You really should’ve listened to that priest…or me, I should say.” He hissed, turning Lance around to show him the priest's eyes. “I’ve been giving you hints the whole time.”
Lance choked on his breath, a guilt rising in him. He’d seen the priest only a few weeks ago.
“You and I are the next in line according to the stories. When the sun goddess’ son would return with the moon goddess’ chosen the sun would return with a fiery hatred more powerful than the first fire.” He chuckled.
“You believe yourself to be Casimir…The banished son?” Lance spat, all this pain caused by a man who thinks himself god.
“No, I don’t believe, I was born as Casimir and banished by that witch you all call a savior.” Casimir hissed, slamming Lance into the bookshelf.
Lance didn’t say anything, he really couldn’t, he just looked at all the eyes and they seemed to stare back into his soul as if to ask him why he didn’t save them.
He wheezed as the pain in his chest worsened.
“I won’t help you Casimir.” Lance whispered
“I don’t think you ever had a choice in the matter and you have your little rabbit friend to blame for that, I’m honestly surprised he never told you what he truly was.” Casimir smiled. “It was fun watching you work, detective but I must prepare for the dawn, I’m sure I’ll see you again soon.”
Casimir let Lance fall to the ground and the man let out a cry of pain as he felt the metal pipe shift in his chest. Casimir chuckled and left the room, leaving the door open.
Lance was finally alone in the room and he could see all of the people’s eyes.
The police chief, the priest, his detective partner, the speakeasy owner and many more on the shelf. How long had they all been Casimir and not their normal selves? How long had they’d actually been dead for without him realizing?
Lances breathing quickened and his vision started going dark, his cries began to become more and more quiet as he felt the energy leaving his body and at some point everything went black…

across the spiderverse!
Summary: We’re back with more guys in the Spiderverse AU! For more like this but different characters, check out my previous Spiderverse parts one and two! My pinned post also has more about Lyney’s route if that’s your thing.
Characters: Childe, Albedo, Scaramouche, Dahlia
Warnings: Reference to details of Scaramouche and Albedo’s lore, but otherwise no large spoilers! Very brief mentions of injuries, kidnapping, human experimentation, blood drinking (vampires) and surgeries. (It sounds bad but this post is safe for general/teen audiences I promise.)
Childe
Your life as Spiderman is pretty uneventful until the masked villain Tartaglia shows up in town — around the same time a new cutie is enrolled in your highschool (completely coincidental, you’re sure)
Childe’s villain persona, Tartaglia, is basically his Foul Legacy form (and a version of the ‘Green Goblin’ in your world, flying around and causing explosions). ‘Tartaglia’ kind of takes over Childe’s mind and he isn’t completely in control of it — leading to wreckage in the city and general chaos that the regular him probably wouldn’t like.
On the bright side, even Tartaglia draws the line at harming children! One time, you see a mix of headlines on the news: ‘Tartaglia attacks’ to ‘Supervillain protects kids?’
Childe fell into the abyss during his childhood (yes, it exists even in this modern AU) and gained an unknown power that turns him into Tartaglia! After some time he gets a hold on his persona, though, so your villain x hero fights slowly grow into something he’s more conscious for.
Anyways! Childe is also your new classmate who’s taken a liking to you from day one (call it instinct or whatever, but he could feel that you were something special.)
Later on, your bond is less determined by your superhero and supervillain statuses, but more on how you’re both not quite human. Childe feels less alone and dangerous around you — and what can be better than having the love of his life beat his other self into submission keep his alter ego in check? The main thing he worries about is doing irreversible damage, so technically speaking this is a very romantic and ideal life you’ve got!
Ah, but backtracking to how you reveal your identities: …Well, Tartaglia kidnapped you once, for the purposes of a date. (Do not try this at home.) During which you found out that it was Childe behind that mask and was so surprised that you called him by his legal name (“Wait, don’t scream! It’s just me!” “Ajax?!”)
At this point, he has a handle over ‘Tartaglia’ enough that he’s just acting like his usual self (save for his freakish strength and agility). Childe explains that he wasn’t planning on kidnapping you (just daydreaming about it) but sensed something dangerous was around → turns out he wasn’t being delusional and it was a Doc-Oc spying on you situation (Dottore), which will become more relevant in Season 2 (stay tuned!)
During this impromptu kidnapping-date you have an entire crisis because sure you had a crush on Childe but this is crazy! Are you supposed to just pretend this never happened the next time you’re Spiderman?
A few weeks later Childe gets injured really badly from a fight (abyss creatures came out of some rifts and Tartaglia unexpectedly cleared them out before you) — so you end up taking him in for medical treatment because, well, the police would otherwise unmask him, and even though Tartaglia was annoying he never did anything unforgivable. And you’d still like the chance of potentially dating him if this works out.
There’s a whole arc of you bonding throughout his recovery, resting in your room and hiding him from your family and friends (his injuries are too severe to make excuses for.) But now that both your identities are revealed Childe feels like a fool because damn, he really did just reveal his identity to his ‘rival’ all because of a crush (to be fair, he didn’t care for the secret identity thing too much in the first place.)
You learn that Tartaglia was a type of self-defense mechanism that developed from when he fell into the Abyss. When placed in a regular modern world however, his instincts to fight for survival still linger.
—Yet all things considered, this could’ve ended really differently if you just decided to turn him in: ‘You must’ve found me really cute, huh? Was it my boyish charm?’ ‘No, it was your cyclops mask’ ‘...Now I see that spider-snark.’
Tartaglia would still cause trouble on occasion and you’d be the one to reel him in (just a little less violently than usual, though Childe does request for you to ‘treat him rougher’ at times. And you don’t know how to respond because whacking him on the head is just giving him what he wants.)
Sometimes you have encounters that are more akin to playfights, and whenever Childe does get the upper hand and cages you in, leaning close… you realise that maybe sparring is one of your love languages too — not that you’d ever admit it. You’re still in disbelief over the last time you arrested him as a joke:
’Oh? What’ll you do with me now that my hands are tied?’
…Next time, you’ll throw him off the building. There’s no way this ginger has that much of a grip on you!
Albedo
You were bitten by a radioactive spider that escaped from Rhinedottir’s lab! Rhinedottir is a super-genius scientist who specializes in creating synthetic life, who only realized the connection after Albedo did a sweep of their lab and found a test-subject missing.
So of course, Rhinedottir assigns him to investigate who you are. This is a great opportunity to study how the spider’s changed your biology, after all!
It takes about a month for Albedo to figure out that Spiderman is none other than his own classmate in high school — he may be a synthetic human, but has been living more or less like a regular person since his body functions the same (needing to eat, breathe, and age).
With his heightened intelligence and senses, Albedo does act a little inhuman sometimes — but that’s mostly because Rhinedottir was his main parent figure and less to do with his genetic makeup.
You guys never interacted before because of how big the school cohort is, but this year you were sorted into the same class! Shortly after Albedo sussed you out, you started to sense that eyes were on you via your spidey-sense, but couldn’t figure out who it was. Eventually, Rhinedottir formally invites you to her lab and an agreement is struck: you’d visit biweekly for check-ups and tests, while Albedo will assist you if anything unusual happens due to your spider traits.
Said tests range from sitting in a scanner to doing crazy stunts, but at least Albedo is there as a cute lab assistant!
He’s generally kind and understanding to you (which you later realize is only directed to those he’s interested in, due to his aloofness at school despite his delicate looks,) and you both build a rapport through mutual secret-knowing (you find out about his synthetic makeup, too, after Rhinedottir explains that this lab is top secret and that no one should know it exists.)
Albedo didn’t immediately try to hang out with you outside of the lab, but eventually you grow close enough to admit that being a superhero makes it hard for you to maintain friendships. You have to bail if a villain appears, and can’t really explain where you disappear to — which makes Albedo suggest:
’In that case, I could keep you company.’ ‘Wait— Really?’ ‘Of course. But I must warn that my hobbies aren’t as exciting as your usual work.’
Despite this, you learn that genius scientists aren’t also dubbed as crazy for nothing. During missions or lazy afternoons where you declare your boredom, Albedo suggestions on what you could do always manages to surprise you. ‘...Hm, too much?’ ‘I’m starting to wonder if I’ll have to arrest you one day.’ ‘If that day comes, I’d look forward to our fight.’
You went from thinking Albedo would be just a cool, calculated friend into wondering if you’re the only thing keeping him from running morally-questionable experiments. On the other hand, this makes him very objective when you’re struggling on what to do during a fight — and your values of saving the most people possible pushes Albedo to consider other ways to resolve situations. Sometimes he’d handle the rescuing, so that you can pursue the villain who’s getting away.
However— his quiet, ethereal charm is very much still there. And there’s just something disarming about spending golden afternoons with someone that knows the biggest secret in your life; sketching flowers and working on assignments as if you’re just human.
Albedo also does a bit of research based on his own curiosities; such as… to what extent do your senses try to protect you from harm? Does it register flusteredness as a state of vulnerability, like when he gains a sudden boldness and traces his fingers over your skin?
Sometimes, you can’t process how he plays both sides of himself so well; an effortless student with a thoughtful smile and clever glint in his eyes, then a lab assistant who coyly asks about your day, knowing full-well that he spent the entirety of it testing your reflexes. But the biggest debuff you have is how you feel some part of you melt, or shrink, or burn whenever Albedo fixes his gaze on you like that. As if he’s drinking in every little detail and cares for nothing else but you.
You tell yourself it’s for science, but even Rhinedottir knows Albedo’s invested much further than that. He’s never had this much pursuing a line of enquiry, before. Maybe it helps that he has a cute partner?
On a regular day where you’re testing out a new gadget Albedo’s designed (he appreciates how tools of potential destruction become acceptably used in your hands), your world is thrown off-kilter when a lookalike appears on the street. An earlier product of Rhinedottir’s research, who now goes by the name Rubedo, or Ruby for short.
Scaramouche
The spider-hero Scaramouche is otherwise known as Kuni in his civilian form, known for his sharp tongue but otherwise perfect track record as Inazuma’s local hero. He has a somewhat strained relationship with Ei (his mother who owns a giant tech company, that everyone expects him to inherit) and tries to keep people behind a ten feet pole. But of course, being a hero makes him soften up a little bit, swallowing his pride to help a lost tourist or explain an assignment to a peer.
His canon event was losing Niwa, which he blames himself for (if only he’d decided to be a superhero earlier, he may have been able to save his friend.) However, he does find the strength to persevere after he saves a young boy from an accident, who then requested to be swung around the city a little more so that he can experience what it’s like to fly (Scaramouche tells the kid that he can’t fly. But the kid is not picky about specifics.)
The young boy has an unknown illness, and isn’t expected to live past adulthood — but is somewhat doing fine while Kuni visits him on occasion (normally as Scaramouche, to cheer him up.)
Kuni’s also put some of his savings into being an anonymous sponsor for the illness’ research, which did catch Ei’s eye but she knows better than to pry. There’s a little moment of connection where she pats his head and tells him the funding will go to good use, and he huffs before leaving to sketch out new gadget designs in his room.
Being flawless for most of his life (skills come easy to him), Kuni does fear deep down that when there’s something he finally cares for — something big — he may fail in a manner that is unsalvageable to him.
That’s why being a hero has helped a little, as even saving a person from a road accident helps him realize that that’s a life saved, regardless of the scope. His suit and powers are electro themed, with the ability to collect static and store it in his body, enough to prompt lightning-fast dashes mid air or shock an unconscious person back to life.
You attend the same school as Kuni and caught his eye because of your big aspirations! The thing is, you’ve never been vocal about that and always chased them quietly (what aspiration/hobby is up to you) — working on your projects during your spare time, sometimes in the less frequented spots on campus or the library. Both of which Kuni is familiar with
There’s just something about the focused pinch in your brow and little smiles — it’s cute, and endearing, and maybe he’s projecting a little but whatever — you’ve just charmed him without even realising he’s been crushing on you. And eventually, Kuni takes some chances to interact with you more, both as a student and Scaramouche.
He’s often reading, listening to music, or sketching tech ideas in his notebook (it has a lock on it courtesy of his paranoia) — borrowing you his pen whenever yours runs out of ink or offering to show you a quieter corner when the noisy kids have taken over the main hall. Then as a hero, he’s saved you a couple of times from normal-human nuisances and swinging you to campus when you’re late and frazzled!
Scaramouche is more mellowed out around you because the mask helps him be less self conscious, while Kuni is reluctantly nice (still prickly). But once you find out about his identity, you'll be one of the only people that know of just how much good he's done for the world. He’ll start to openly shift between ‘both sides’ of his personality, which is kinda hilarious whenever his civilian sassiness comes through during his patrols (he’s very much a smart-mouthed spiderman).
Your romance does develop, but there's sort of an odd love triangle before you found out his secret (his fault for approaching you in both forms). The breaking point is when you’re gazing out of your bedroom window (can’t sleep) and Scaramouche knocks on the glass. A short late-night rendezvous occurs, where you vent (without too much detail) to the stars.) And that’s when Kuni realizes that he really can’t screw this up.
Once you’re official, you’ll start to see parts of Scaramouche in Kuni and vice versa. LIke when he rescued Childe once and you could tell he really didn’t like the idea of bridal carrying the guy to the infirmary, so you volunteered to make sure Childe survives, instead. Or when a stray baseball almost hits you and Kuni effortlessly pulls you out of the way without a flinch.
People say you've changed him but really you just made him comfortable enough to reveal the other sides of himself. The upside-down kiss trope also happened during one of your night-time escapes (yes it’s an ongoing theme) and it still lives rent free in his head!! He's a romantic deep down and now spends part of his time thinking of other date activities (he finds a match in you)
You’ve helped him on missions a few times (desperate moments where he can’t do everything alone), but the fact that you’re the first person he goes to for help — not Ei, not the police, not even Aether — is very telling of how much trust he places in you. All that echoes in his mind is the thought of you: resulting in ‘I need your help’ and your prompt ‘Just tell me what you need.’ (Yes you’re a little reverse of that Anna/Kristoff moment!)
In the past, this may have been a moment where he feels his vulnerability threatened… but the idea of that isn’t even on his mind. He knows you — that just shows how far you’ve both grown!
Dahlia
Note: very brief biblical and church themes used, mentions of you as a type of monster/demon as perceived by the public. Feel free to skip Dahlia’s entire part if you aren't comfortable with these!
In a gothic medieval city without much tech and a strong Cathedral vibe… You're a vigilante hero who solves crimes in morally questionable ways (by the public's strict standards, at least).
You're a vampire-spider with the ability to paralyse people with your venom! No other side effects exist, for now, but you do have an increased appetite for foods high in iron, and the change in your physical features (fangs and unnatural color of your eyes) are becoming harder to hide.
At first, they’d only appear whenever you were using your powers. But as you get used to swinging around and climbing on walls, they’ve been appearing whenever your spidey-senses kicked in. And you have a bad feeling that if nothing is done, they may be on display forever.
You haven't committed any actual crimes, but the nature of your vigilantism and blatant disregard for the local police puts you on a general ‘wanted’ list. Open-minded folk thank you for your help while others call you a monster that needs to be caught by the Church. Deacon Dahlia is an important person in said Church but he doesn't really think there's a need to start a hunt; true to Barbatos’ ideals, he’s one of the more carefree and understanding figures amongst his peers, well-liked for his graceful demeanor and ability to keep calm under any and all pressures.
…That is, until you break into the Cathedral’s gardens and kidnap him one day, out of desperation when your spidey-traits don’t seem to be turning back like they should. Your fangs and eyes won’t be possible to hide from your friends and family — which will either land them in a tight spot as they try to keep your secret or land you immediately behind bars!
Your intent was to ask for his help in a way that hopefully keeps your identity secret. Dahlia and the other deacons and deaconess’ have the ability to heal people from illnesses (small miracles enabled by Barbatos through their prayer), so surely he can do something! Fix your features, or take away your ‘curse’ altogether — anything works! (At this point you’ve been trying to do good as a hero, but it was mostly prompted by just horrible things happening in front of you that you couldn’t ignore. You’re still very early into your career.)
But, of course, Dahlia accesses your strange demeanor, request, and mode of approach (next time don’t commit borderline blasphemy by kidnapping Barbatos’ Herald) and finally tells you that he doesn’t have the answers you’re looking for. Blessings are for regular, small sicknesses — not exorcisms or curses like you described.
It’s not anger or frustration that fills you, but instead a hollow sense of helplessness. ‘...What am I going to do?’
Dahlia was just going to leave, now that you don’t seem intent on keeping him on the Cathedral’s rooftop — but pauses. He looks at the way you’ve lowered yourself onto the ground and buried your face against your knees, and asks:
‘What did you need my healing for?’
The dam breaks. You tell him everything — the day you got turned, poisoned by some animal in the woods, to the first time you used your powers to this morning, when your features transitioned fully. It all spills out without mentions of your personal background, but Dahlia gets the idea and decides to help you.
You look at him warily, your surprise strong enough for him to sense even with your disguise. ‘Really?’
‘Yes. So long as you help me with a matter of my own…’
Thus begins an odd dynamic of you using a spare room in Dahlia’s private quarters (being Barbatos’ Herald does have its perks of extra living space), in an almost beauty and the beast type of way (except the only thing making you the beast is your spider-powers, and Dahlia is only a little surprised — mostly intrigued — by how your eyes have turned into an unnatural variant of its original color, while your fangs seem to be made for delivering venom, but not exactly for eating meat like carnivores do.)
He’s a lot more laid back about this than you expected, helping you get basic necessities and food without letting any of the others in the Church know. It helps that you can hide and crawl outside pretty easily if needed, to hide — and you start to grow curious about Dahlia yourself when he finally gives you your mission brief — to investigate some small crimes around the city that he suspects are connected, based on Rosaria’s reports.
The mystery quickly proves to be bigger than either of you imagined, and it becomes a battle to keep the peace in Mondstadt while nefarious forces linger in the shadows. Meanwhile: What will the public think when they find out Deacon Dahlia has enlisted the help of a monster, of all things? A person whose powers (in a world with only blessings from gods or curses from demons) is most likely from a dangerous, nefarious source?
Because of how close you’re working together, you discover sides of Dahlia that even the longest term Sisters haven't seen before (mostly because he works with them in a professional setting).
“You're less pious than I thought you'd be.” “Well, no point doing that in front of the person who decimated Barbatos’ statue.” “...Touché.” “You’re helping with the repairs, by the way.” “How many jobs are you having one person do?!”
And the first time you hear a genuine, happy laugh fall off his lips? You know that deep down, even if Dahlia was to turn against you someday… You may never be able to truly cut yourself off from the friendship you’ve built. Even if it was only you visiting the remnants of it, chasing after phantoms in the courtyard where bloody flowers bloomed — you’d stand there and wait, eyes angled away from the shadows swarming beneath your steps.

Skimmed through Thirst for Blood, the first book in the Shades of Blood AP and have mixed feelings on a lot of it that may clear on a more thorough read, but the main draw was the dive into the worship of Camazotz. I think the inclusion of Camazotz, Ah Pook (still really wish they used Ah Puch instead), and numerous Coatl deities kind of makes the justifications for cutting out the Osirion pantheon even stranger, but that's not what we're here for.
As lore goes, Camazotz's article simply re-states a lot of info we already knew about him from other sources, just a little longer. He's a savage deity (in both the sense of "a god that is savage" and "a god of what could be considered savages") with little room for nuance, as direct as a god can be with what he wants from the world and from the faith that has formed around him. He wants to drink blood, he wants to hunt, he wants people to be afraid of him, and he wants his followers to aspire to the same ideals. He abhors civilization and how "soft" it makes people in every sense of the word, going so far as to be sickened by the idea of easy prey and growing bored if his meals don't fight back.
Fittingly enough, his cultists are the player's first introduction to blood-drinking threats in the AP, and make for "starter villains" to set up more powerful foes. However, even a straightforward deity like Camazotz has a surprising number of mysteries and eyebrow-raising events, such as:
His origin legend claims that he was once a vampire bat that was so evil that he grew a complex soul (as humans have) just to hold it all.
He is said to have served as a messenger for various Demon Lords for millennia, carrying messages across the planes to their followers and gorging on blood offerings from both. Eventually, he finally ascending after eating an Empyreal Lord that was given to him as payment for his services.
Because of his frequent traveling between the planes, he has three divine lairs as a result: the House of Bats in Xibalba, Agrahoz in the Abyss, and the Land of Eleven Deaths in... the Material Plane???
Agrahoz stretches all the way down to Yad Iagnoth, aka the top of the world for the qlippoth... with whom he shares a cordial, peaceful relationship. Anyone who knows anything about qlippoth should realize how weird this is, but perhaps the parasitic and predatory denizens of the deepest Rifts see kinship in what is, essentially, an evolved predator? Camazotz did not become a god through worship, but through his own sadistic and ceaseless violence, something the primordial qlippoth likely both understand and respect.
His lair in the Material is even MORE curious. Camazotz freely flits between the planes even now, which is already highly unusual for a divine figure, but to my knowledge, the fact he can exist in the universe as a physical entity makes him one of three gods to do so, the others being Gozreh and Kitumu. That he is a divine figure one can just... encounter, potentially even randomly, is bizarre in Pathfinder's universe, where gods tend to stick to their Outer Sphere planes, because leaving those planes can raise enemy alarms.
Camazotz in general gets a bizarre amount of leeway compared to most gods, freely blessing or cursing his followers as he sees fit, including just giving away darkvision to people who prove they can hunt without it first. Thirst for Blood highlights an especially overt flex of his power: he can, entirely on a whim, grant his followers the ability to become true werebats or bat beastkin if he likes them enough, when otherwise such a dramatic transformation would require some form of ritual or higher-level magic. While it's true many of them DO perform some kind of lengthy, ritualistic rite for the privilege, the ritual isn't to gain the power, it's to prove their devotion, with Camazotz having the final say on if it works. Even if they do everything perfectly, he can still say no, and if they screw up the ritual entirely, he can still say yes, which is not how these things are usually DONE!
Camazotz is a straightforward deity, but for whatever reason, he can flaunt the rules that normally bind other gods and prevent them from acting, and maintains allies along demons, qlippoth, and sahkil. There are a few possible reasons he gets away with such audacious acts, with the most plausible being that... well, strictly speaking, the reason most gods don't do what Camazotz is doing is that it invites retaliation from their enemies, and up until recently, he didn't have enemies that regarded him as an immediate threat that needed to be destroyed, because in the grand scheme of things, he was a single predator devouring prey and spends the vast majority of his time waiting for prey to stumble into his lairs (or be sent to him by others) instead of seeking it out. He wasn't enacting any grand, worlds-shaping plans, and actually kept his own cults disorganized and disjointed by encouraging infighting and direct, bloody violence. Still, his actions make him an anomaly among the divine!

okay for anyone who's getting into rift of the necrodancer who may not really know anything about the original lore of the game, in crypt's DLC, Amplified, there's a character in it named nocturna
as far as characters go she's pretty sweet, a cutlass wielding vampire who can turn into a bat for extra evasive maneuvers?? literally what's not to love abt her? and better yet, as a human, she was brown
admittedly from looking at images of her as a vampire its kind of hard to tell. and i'll be honest, her transition from human to vampire could have been much better in my personal opinion. especially in reference to the hair texture. but like okay. the majority of the details are the same. in closer up images she still has freckles, her nose and head shape is similar, her eyes are the same color. she's blue, obviously, but there can still be a case made that she's brown, if you know what i'm saying here?
BUT WITH THAT IN MIND SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED WITH HER REDESIGN FOR RIFT??
THIS IS NOT FUCKING NOCTURNA?? like. inarguably the design SLAPS i'm not even arguing that she doesn't look good she's just like. WHITE now. i mean she's BLUE but she's WHITE.
they changed her head shape, they changed her NOSE shape (which really fucking gets me), they gave her BLUE eyes instead of green, and even desaturated her skin tone?? and while a case could be made for the old nocturna's hair still being somewhat similar to her human variant, that argument can not be made for this one. that hair has never been coiled in its fucking life. who the hell is this. that is NOT nocturna.
it's so sad because i'm 90% sure that lots of people forget that nocturna wasn't white as a human to begin with, and i feel like with all the characters getting massive, modern day design overhauls this would literally be a perfect low stakes opportunity to actually fix the design to... better portray a brown human who turned into a (still brown) vampire
but instead, they made it worse to a degree that i couldn't even COMPREHEND until i saw it for the first time??
#crypt of the necrodancer#rift of the necrodancer#honestly i think i'm most upset with BYG for allowing this to actually happen#regardless of whether they or tictoc games were the one to make/approve the redesigns they should NOT have approved of this??#its THEIR character they should know more than anyone what her fucking ethnicity is?? i don't know#i think abt it every few months and it ruins my day for the rest of time so maybe if i talk abt it i can be free of this curse#cotnd#nocturna

OC LORE DUMP
Everybody who's been around for a bit knows that I used the same set of characters for all of OC-Tober, under a tag I've decided to call Living, Dead, and Undecided!
All the OC-Tober Drawings of them can be found Here and Here, although you can also just look through my tag #oc tober.
Basic Premise:
Living Dead and Undecided takes place during a seasonally appropriate zombie apocalypse. But with a twist: almost all of the main characters are supernatural/magical/undead creatures themselves, which SIGNIFCANTLY changes how and why they're handling the problem!
The apocalypse itself was caused by a foolhardy wizard's attempt to travel to the afterlife going very wrong. Thus, it is self-contained to a singular area, where, in addition to a bunch of reanimated corpses, other magical nonsense keeps happening (like dimension rifts and summoning magical creatures to the area).
The five main characters are brought together by the apocalypse and are working to stop it by finding the wizard and the location he cast his spell and making him reverse it. But the kind of person who attempts to travel to the realm of the afterlife isn't exactly the most stable or cooperative individual, and the many other dangerous beings being summoned to the beacon of twisted magic certainly aren't helping either.
All Creature Lore for this is basically me mish-mashing together a bunch of different sources until I had something I liked, so I'll explain what everyone's powers are as I go.
The Main Characters:
Chase Michaels:
Chase is an absolutely precious 7 year old orphan who lost his parents a few months ago, and was recently turned into a vampire by total accident (the vampire who turned him was also a new vampire and did not know that was a possibility, they were kind of just trying to drink the blood of someone who wouldn't be missed).
Unfortunately, the guy who turned him is also the deadbeat dad of vampires and decided to just ditch the kid without ever explaining anything to him. This means that a 7 year old was suddenly slammed with super-senses, bat-like instincts and abilities (including bat shapeshifting which was really scary when it first happened), a weakness to sunlight (sunburns very easily and gets sun-sick, but doesn't immediately die), a nocturnal sleep schedule, and a sudden taste for blood without knowing why. Remember, Chase is also an orphan, and he was liviing completely on his own for the last few months. He literally had no clue what was going on, and was just kind of struggling to adapt to his new powers.
And then the apocalypse happened. Now, the zombies can't actually kill Chase unless they manage to accidentally stake him, but they can physically mess him up pretty bad. Chase also learns that zombie blood apparently satisfies the blood-drinking problem (so will animal blood, but that's actually harder to get since animals actively run away from him).
Chase's personality starts out like that of a skittish feral kitten because that is effectively how he's been living, but once he gets into a safer situation and starts trusting people, his real personality starts showing. He's very curious, is really good at reading people (especially for a 7 year old), kind of has an intuitive knowledge for the way things works, and is constantly taking things apart and putting them back together as a fidget. He loves puzzles, riddles, soccer and almost certainly has undiagnosed ADHD.
Chase is basically slumming it on the streets until he runs into Kate and they mutually adopt each other. She's somewhere between a much older sister and a mother figure to him.
Sam Fetch:
Sam is 15, pangender (so all the gender and all the pronouns, but they/them default), and a werewolf. They fucking hate that they're a werewolf. Sam can shapeshift into a wolf at will, but they will frequently get stuck kind of halfway between the transformation, and it takes a lot of practice over the course of the story for them to learn to control this. At the full moon, they're forced to shift, and while they will keep their head if left to their own devices, they'll lose it if they find a human and will try to attack them. They have enhanced senses and super strength as well as some wolf-instincts at all times.
Anyway, Sam was attacked and turned into a werewolf when they were like 12 and has been hardcore struggling ever since. The transition from human to werewolf was particularly rough on Sam because they are currently a hormonal teenager in the middle of several identity and life crises, and those things do not mix well with sudden powers. The zombie apocalypse was a cloud with a MASSIVE silver lining because now they don't have to deal with hiding their powers, or trying to maintain a normal school life when you can literally smell every middle schooler, or the fact that their parents were struggling financially and Sam's sudden increased appetite wasn't helping. But, it's still a great big cloud because in the initial attack, Sam got separated from their parents and is now on a quest to find them and save them if they can still be saved.
Sam comes off as really overconfident and cocky (and they are about their physical abilities), but is actually really insecure about themself. Sam also has a very short fuse and is in general just very angry about life. Starting a fight with them is just about the easiest thing in the world. They're also intensely loyal, and once you gain their trust, it takes something very fucked up to lose it. They will fight god for the people they care about.
Sam is doing a decent job of surviving the apocalypse, but not a very good job of finding their parents until they meet up with Zachary and Hazel. They despise Hazel with just about their whole being, but sadly recognizes that staying with Hazel is definitely better for their own goals and protection. They like Zachary, but they definitely place too much trust in him. When their little trio first meets up with Kate and Chase, Kate does casually attempt to murder them all. Sam holds a grudge and tries to hate Kate after this, but Kate also looked at Sam, said "Oh, you're not trying to hurt me or my kid? Great, you're my kid now, no you don't get a say," and broke down their walls very quickly after that. They adore Chase and is like another older sibling to them, although with much less maturity or responsibility than Kate.
Hazel Thorne:
Hazel is a witch who is physically 13, chronologically 120, and emotionally somewhere in between (although that does kind of fluctuate depending on the situation). Their gender identity is rather complicated, but demigirl is currently the best way I've found to describe it, and she switches between she/her and they/them fairly regularly (I'll just use she/her on this post for simplicity). I go into more depth about it when I talk about the extent of her trauma here. She's also pan, but that's not particularly relevant to this story, as there is no romance involved :). She sold her soul to a malevolent demon for witchcraft when she was naught but a schoolgirl in the early 1900s, but now she's a fully fledged and very dangerous witch. She's been having magical escapades, making enemies, making friends, solving people's problems, and wreaking lowkey havoc on the world for over a century.
She initially became a witch out of desperation to destroy the horrible boarding school she was at. It was like, full on abusive, almost a prison levels of problematic, and she and the other girls there all became very close due to trauma bonding. When one of her roommates discovered a forbidden book about witchcraft, they realized it was a way out, and she and the 12 other girls she shared her hall with all became witches together. They're bonded in a coven, but they're currently scattered internationally, and the wizard bullshit that caused the apocalypse is interfering with her capability to contact them.
Hazel is an absolute little shit. Her alignment is chaotic neutral, bordering on chaotic evil. She enjoys pissing people off, forcing them to work for her, holding things over their head, destroying property, getting vengeance, and just generally messing with folks. The only thing that has stopped her from fully becoming a villain at this point is that she cares about the general welfare of humanity and wants to protect them.
Hazel, while very magically powerful, is not great at doing plans. She's far too spontaneous to actually solve a big issue like a zombie apocalypse on her own, so she summons Zachary to help, and they kind of just meet up with the rest of the party on their way. She and Zachary are something like old friends, since they've been on the same side of a lot of really dangerous situations throughout history. She royally pisses off Sam and enjoys pushing their buttons. Kate is 110% done with her nonsense, but is also able to recognize that she has more emotional maturity than Hazel and does her best to be patient and take care of her (can you tell Kate has a problem with just adopting people?)
Zachary Winters:
Zachary is a lich, who somehow still manages to be on the side of good. See, he was originally from a small village from around almost a thousand years ago. When his village was hit with a curse that caused a horrible plague, he did the only thing he could in desperation: he turned to dark magic and became a lich. In my universe, this means that his soul is now separated from his body and stored in a physical object. If that ever gets destroyed, then he will be condemned to some sort of terrible purgatory or something. But it also means he gets immortality and can be given strength and magic power through human sacrifice. Now powered with human sacrifice in the form of all the people in his village who had been taken by the plague, Zachary used his new magical abilities to raise them into an undead army and stormed the castle of the warlock who had cursed them in the first place, forcing him to undo the spell.
But Zachary couldn't exactly just go back to normal after that. He now required sacrifice to live. And sure, he could have just died and been done with it, but he decided to do something a little unorthodox. He found a way to put himself into stasis. Without human sacrifice, his body goes into something of a hibernation mode and he effectively becomes no different than a regular corpse. However, all it takes is one person dying as a sacrifice and he will reanimate. In times of crisis where death and destruction abounds, some people will invoke the legend of the People's Lich and declare themselves a sacrifice as they die, and wake Zachary up. This means that Zachary is capable of helping people in times of death and destruction. As soon as the problem is resolved, he'll go back into stasis. As long as his soul jar isn't destroyed, he'll continue to do this forever.
This means Zachary's age is really iffy. Physically, he's like if someone died at around 50 and then you kept reanimating that corpse. Chronologically, he's been around for about 1,000 years, but he's been in stasis for a lot of that. He's got at least 300 years of experience but definitely not more than 800 years under his belt. Oh, and like Hazel, he's pan, but that's not particularly relevant.
Zachary's personality is heavily based on my relatives on my dad's side, who all have a similar sense of humor and lack of a filter. He is wise and he cares and he usually knows when to shut up, but he's also really whacky. He doesn't usually understand the social conventions of the day when he's reanimated, is rather morbid, and is very goofy and won't take things very seriously.
This means he gels really well with trickster-demon-witch-child Hazel. She actually brought him back to life this time by just straight up killing a zombie in his name. They've crossed paths at least once before during the World Wars. He gets along decently with Sam due to being entertaining but not as irritating as Hazel. He and Kate have a complicated relationship, as he's sort of the mastermind/leader of their little group, but she's the most responsible and takes care of everyone emotionally. She appreciates the help he does give, but wishes he'd be more helpful as the only other actual adult in the party. Chase is actually a little creeped out by him at first, especially since he does look like a corpse, but he takes a shine to Chase and works a lot on getting the kid out of his shell (and also forcing Hazel and Sam to get along).
Kate Blaire:
Kate is 19, aroace, aplatonic (but allofamilial), and the only regular human of the group. She was basically just a regular human emerging adult. She was settling into trade school, she had a day job in customer service that she hated but that made her money, and she was doing her best to get all her necessary certifications to be a mechanic until the apocalypse hit.
The thing that makes her different than everybody else that panicked and got attacked or went into hiding or ended up a victim to the other effects of the magical bullshit? She was raised in the country by her grandparents, who were both war vets. They taught her a lot about survival in high-stress dangerous situations with the hope that she'd never need to use it. Kate was able to protect herself, get to safety, and start formulating a plan on how to survive, gather information, and hopefully start helping to fix whatever the problem is. Then she started bumping into a bunch of supernatural creatures that also happened to be emotionally unstable children and she was like "fuck it, guess I have to take care of them now too," because Kate is a very compassionate person.
Kate is a really serious person, but it is made worse due to the high stress situation. She's also super responsible and maybe a little bit too mature for her age due to the way she was raised. She's ridiculously determined and decisive, and she generally sees other people, especially those younger than her, as people she's responsible for protecting. She's rather prickly on the surface, but is an absolute marshmallow at her core. Chase is her precious child and she will do literally anything to keep him safe, but she is very protective of their whole little squad.
The rough timeline of events for all this is basically:
Apocalypse Happens
Kate and Chase meet up after she found him slumming it in an alleyway and she basically adopts him. They're using their combined limited knowledge to try to figure out how the hell this happened and if it can be fixed
Sam and Hazel meet up by saving each other's butts from an unusally large horde of zombies. They don't get along, but they have complementary strengths and weaknesses, so they stick together to get things done. Sam mostly just wants to go charging after their parents, but since they don't know where they'd be, they're mostly stuck exploring. Hazel has already put together that summoning Zachary is probably the best course of action
Kate and Chase have worked out that it's necromancy, and start working on a device to track that magical energy.
Hazel and Sam summon Zachary. This sudden blast of necromancy fucks with the readings on Kate and Chase's device, and they start heading towards that area.
Hazel and Sam fill Zachary in on what's happening, and he basically makes the same plan as Kate and Chase: "Find where the spell was cast and the guy who did it, and go from there."
The two groups meet. Kate assumes that Zachary is a zombie, since he looks like a corpse, and fully attempts to kill them all. They manage to talk her down, at which point the two groups join up.
All OC-Tober drawings happen basically in this next period, which is fairly episodic as they deal with various Magical Mishaps while trying to find the wizard.
And that is my OCs! Go relook at my drawings with the added context and enjoy!
I did draw 3 other OCs for OC Tober that I didn't give lore for here!
One of them is ACE. ACE is the physical form of a star that had been passing by when the spell was cast. They were drawn to the disaster zone, less because they were forced to and more out of interest, and are basically a scientist trickster god that causes more problems than they solve for the crew throughout the story.
The next is Callista, who is part of The Extras (my Universal Adaptor Cast of background characters) and thus has no particularly special lore.
And finally there is Lyra, my first OC, who is not part of the Living Dead and Undecided story (except maybe as a background cameo) and has her lore and story explained on her post.
Massive massive thank you for sticking with me through all of OC-Tober, but a special thanks goes to Lee! @ace-of-hats I need you to know that your little likes kept me going and gave me the motivation to finish even well after the deadline passed.
I love you all, and I will probably not draw these guys very soon in all honesty, mostly just because I'm going to be distracted by Wizard101.

I'd like to hear about your oc lore. It's always interesting to hear about.
*slams book shut* EXCUSE TO TALK ABOUT NEW STORY CONCEPT!
So, a little while ago, the title "The Damsel & The Damned" popped into my head, which is inspiration enough on its own... and that led me to decide to answer the age-old question: what if a princess trapped in a tower made a deal with a demon in order to escape, and what if that demon was a burnt-out millenial dealing with a curse of their own? And what if I used their story to better flesh out my homebrew D&D setting?
The story follows the adventures of Adelina Carletti Lapina, an elven princess (half-high elf, half-drow) who is every bit your typical fairy-tale princess save for two things: fifty years of being imprisoned has made her want to live as much as possible, making her the most reckless person you'll ever meet... and she is an incredibly powerful necromancer, in a world where that kind of magic is strictly forbidden. Traveling alongside her, and desperately trying to keep her alive, is her new warlock patron---Romiera "Romi" Wrath, who is actually not strictly a demon, but a devilkin (this world's version of a tiefling) who was raised in Hell by their dad. And living in Hell as the child of an incredibly powerful archdevil has caused Romi to inherit all of their father's powers... which are not in any way suited for a mortal body, and could quite literally kill them unless they share their abilities with someone else.
As the two make their way through the world, they attempt to uncover Adelina's past, which she's all but forgotten, and to figure out who imprisoned her in the first place. Along their way, they find some allies:
Hilda Brosgul, a middle-aged orcish swashbuckler who's the latest in a long line of accomplished adventurers. She's lived a life of sailing through the open seas, standing up for the downtrodden and fighting gigantic sea monsters, but her wild lifestyle wound up causing a rift between her and her wife, and she hasn't exactly been taking the separation well. Romi and Adelina find Hilda at rock bottom, and after she helps them out in a skirmish and proves to them---and herself---that she's still a capable fighter, she winds up tagging along with them as their self-appointed protector.
Kassius Heller, a formerly-human vampire alchemist whose existence has been greatly hindered by the fact that he's never been able to stomach killing anything, even to survive. Luckily, he's also a brilliant mad scientist, and has been able to create a substitution for blood---kind of like Marceline in Adventure Time, though it's not quite as simple as just eating shades of red. They meet him at a science exhibition, and he and Adelina get along almost immediately, bonding in a way that only insatiably curious queer nerds can. His intelligence, boundless optimism, and undead nature endear him to Romi and Hilda pretty quickly, too, as all of those traits are key when you're trying to survive.
Matilda "Tilly" Trinket, a fairy of the Seelie Court who used to be one of Queen Titania's most loyal knights, but now that the fey have evolved with the times (in their own odd way) and have no real interest in waging wars, she now works as the queen's personal secretary, and she takes that job just as seriously. After the gang winds up in the Faerie Realm in order to speak to Titania (for... reasons I haven't yet figured out), they get to meet Tilly, who admits that though she loves spreadsheets and paperwork and keeping things shipshape, she does kind of miss her old days of swinging her little sword around and smiting her enemies with the power of chaotic fey magic. Titania hears this and gives Tilly a special mission---to follow Adelina and the others and to keep them safe, in the way that only a true knight of the Seelie can. Tilly absolutely becomes the voice of logic and reason in the group, even more so than Romi... even if it's very clear that she's a bit out of practice when it comes to intense, battle-heavy moments, and that her smaller size does pose a slight disadvantage. She's still the best lawful whatever-the-fey-see-as-good fairy godmother, though.
And throughout it all, shadowy forces follow Adelina wherever she goes, the most mysterious one of all being a reanimated, stitched-together huntsman. Adelina only has dim memories of him from her first days in the tower... but Kassius knows him as Julio Delgado, an old friend from his university days. A friend whose father married the widow of the most powerful and wicked necromancer the world has ever seen.
A necromancer who had a daughter, Lorelai de Crypt. And she's hell-bent on proving that she can do everything he can... except, of course, be defeated.
#ocs#writeblr#my stories#story idea#original characters#my writing#character intro#fantasy worldbuilding#fairy tale fiction#i love these guys#if i say literally anything else it'll be a spoiler but lorelai is one of my FAVORITE villains i've come up with#and adelina and romi are *chef's kiss*#they're ace4ace of course

Presenting: Another Hellbound infomercial!
The Daegon – A masterpost explaining my original demon species, of which Zyne, Damian, and Mr. Clean are a part of. Hellbound centers around demonhood, specifically my version of what being a demon means. If that interests you, keep on reading for secret lore that, for the most part, doesn't get expanded upon in the game (well- not to this extent).
☆ The Daegon – Demonkind Origins & Evolution ☆
Hell, once called Daegon, is a dimension hidden beneath Earth's core. To open the rift between worlds, one must draw the Eye of Dagon symbol. Demonkind originally descended from a celestial, fairy-like dragon species with nature-based abilities. They were not inherently violent; rather, their corruption was gradual, influenced by human perception and societal shifts. As humans demonized them, they internalized the label, transforming both physically and psychologically into what they were perceived to be.
When demons began traveling to Earth through the rift, they slowly assimilated into human society. To blend in, they severed their horn-like halos, a symbol of their former divine nature. When the horns grew back, they no longer connected, appearing as standard demonic horns. Over generations, this became an evolutionary trait, permanently altering their biology.
As their society hardened, most demons lost their natural abilities entirely. Their once-diverse powers faded, and only those who fully succumbed to bloodlust could manifest dark magic. This corrupted energy deteriorates them physically, transforming them into vampiric, dragon-like forms driven by predatory instinct.
However, it is still possible, though rare, for demons to tap into their psyche and reclaim their ancient, divine abilities. This requires immense self-awareness and spiritual connection, making it difficult for most. Those who succeed can temporarily channel their original nature, accessing lost powers of healing, elemental control, or spiritual energy.
☆ Bloodlines & Roles ☆
Demonkind was once divided into castes, each with distinct physical traits and abilities, though many have been lost or corrupted over time:
Goldblood: Former sky & mountain-dwellers with feathered wings and electric (as well as mostly weather based) abilities. Now executioners or jailers.
Blueblood: Once aquatic philosophers and strategists, now law enforcers. Those who reject the role turn to crime or ally with Greenbloods.
Greenblood: Former healers, now capitalists and black-market traffickers, keeping Hell City's economy running.
Purpleblood: The rarest bloodline, born once per generation. Once pacifist shamans with psychic abilities, they have become symbols of tyranny under the Overlord’s corruption. Now, she is the only remaining Purpleblood– her reign unchallenged until death finds her, deep within her castle.
Redblood: Formerly small, companion-like beings, now the working class, laboring in Hell's factories. Very bug-like and spiky. Nomads retreat to the faraway volcanoes, caves, and underground tunnel systems.
☆ Era Shifts & Societal Decline ☆
In Era 1, demon society was tribal, spiritual, and nature-driven. Each bloodline fulfilled its role in a harmonious caste system. Hell City was once rich with fauna, free of modern structures, crime, and oppression.
As society shifted into Era 2, technological advancements led to militarization and oppression. The last shaman (now the Overlord) centralized power, enforcing strict societal roles. Production became the new currency of value, and demons who rejected their roles were purged.
Now, only Hell City remains. The once-sprawling mainland has been reduced to a single, industrialized metropolis, while the outer regions have become overgrown and lost to time. The ruins of their former society are buried beneath tangled forests and crumbling relics, forgotten by all but the most defiant.
☆ Demon Psychology & Corruption ☆
Demonkind’s violent nature is not innate but conditioned. As they absorbed the human view of demons, their psyche shifted accordingly. Their abilities, once nature-based, became venomous and unstable. Magic itself became taboo, shunned by the Overlord after she lost her own connection to it.
Most demons now lack any abilities at all. Their once-divine magic is long forgotten, and dark energy only manifests in those overtaken by bloodlust. This transformation is a curse, driven by predatory instinct and physical deterioration. The Overlord herself is the prime example, her addiction to power and violence triggering her mutation into a vampiric, dragon-like entity.
Demons who resist corruption and instead reconnect with their original essence can access remnants of their lost powers. This requires a rare, deep connection to their psyche, making it difficult but possible. These individuals are able to temporarily restore their divine, nature-based abilities, such as elemental control, healing, or spiritual manipulation.
☆ Hell’s Place in the Xenoverse ☆
Hell (and Hellbound) is part of the Xenoverse, an interdimensional reality where Earth exists alongside other alien races and supernatural forces. Through the rift, demons integrated into Earth's society. Though met with prejudice, their presence became normalized. Regardless, their lost culture and stigma as demons prevented them from reclaiming their former nature.
Demonkind’s descent into violence reflects their psychological vulnerability: they became what they were told. Once celestial beings with divine magic, they severed their spiritual connection through assimilation, losing their original abilities and identity. Corruption, both societal and internal, turned them into the demons they were feared to be.
Though the potential for redemption remains. Those who can resist the bloodlust and reconnect with their divinity become symbols of defiance. Proof that the old ways are not entirely lost... ☆
Stay tuned for more! And follow this blog if you'd like to support Hellbound's development and eventual release. I take commissions and accept tips via Ko-Fi as well! Feel free to ask any questions too. I love answering shit about my lil demons.

Ghost lore for the Redactedverse because Stranger and Xavier ghost headcanons are my guilty pleasure:
-Ghosts are dead people who died before they were supposed to, so now the rest of their life force keeps their souls around until it runs out.
->Aka: You didn't die of natural causes? Well done, you're a ghost now until you do.
-Ghosts can transfer their life force to another ghost.
->They can't transfer their life force to humans, as they are entirely incompatible in that way.
-People who were consumed by shades turn into ghosts indefinitely as long as their life force is on Elegy within the Shade.
->When the shade is killed before it can use up all of the life force, it is released into Elegy, and the ghost it originally belonged to is bound to be a spirit for the rest of time.
->If the shade uses up all of the life force, the ghost also passes on.
-Ghosts can't interfere with Elegy. They can't interact with inanimate objects and they can't interact with people.
-Ghosts can use d(a)emons' rifts and go to Aria without sustaining any damage or having their life force drained at a faster rate.
-Demons can't see ghosts, but daemons can and serenity daemons specifically can also feed on ghosts' feelings.
->However, any memories of interactions with ghosts are magically erased from daemons' memories or changed into memories of interactions with a normal human in Elegy.
-Ghosts can't touch water just like vampires can't go into the sun. If a ghost makes contact with water, they are immediately transported to the river of death with no way to return.
Might do some more of these another time, but so far this is all I've got. Hope you enjoyed ^^

Modded Skyrim playthrough continues to be a blast ^^
After witnessing and partaking in a few scraps while looking for some bounty targets in the southwestern Rift, Llunela had a bit of a vampirism scare after a close encounter in a cave and had to rush down to Falkreath to grab a Potion of Cure Disease.
Fortunately, she was able to find more work in Falkreath, and while travelling I encountered my first experience using modded companions ^^
She's a Bosmer called Auri and already after just about an hour or so has already shown more personality than most of the vanilla companions!
TW CANNIBALISM MENTION AHEAD
The mod author also clearly has some deeper Elder Scrolls lore knowledge, because Auri has some lore accurate, um, 'habits' that non-Bosmer may find concerning.
All in all, modded Skyrim is continuing to be a really refreshing experience and making exploring a ton of fun ^^

Star’s Lore Analyst Brain has been switched on again for the first time in a while hello!
… I’m on the fence about Hush tbh. Absolutely f^&* fascinated, yes
But the calm, clinical way with which he said “eviscerated” with no regret set my teeth on edge immediately. The cool “being tied up against your will” bit didn’t help either
Also yeah no Hush isn’t his real name if he even has one
Though that soundbite of the “complicated answer” sounds about the same (without going back to check) as when Avior channeled E’Laetum and Min’Ara in Cataclysm to grab the Sovereigns out of Aria
Sooo
Obviously I’m thinking there’s something Sovereign about him
Let me kinda talk it out
Not human and not d(a)emon. He doesn’t have a Core and he is capable of wiping memories and empathically sensing emotion. He also referred to the physical plane as Elegy and the Chorus seems to know a lot about him enough to want him dead anyway and consider him some sort of abomination
I suspect he probably has never been to Elegy before but that remains to be seen
The “more and less” is a bit interesting and I’m not sure what to do with that, tbh, but I’m getting to that
And that noise as he leaves at the very end isn’t the typical rift of a d(a)emon
So, here’s where the deep thinking comes in
First of all, he has a lot of demonic traits we all know and understand but outright says he’s not one
“Abomination” to me, makes me think of two things
The first is that the Sovereigns created more than just d(a)emons and Hush is of and from Aria, but not a demon. Rather, some other type of Sovereign creation species/race/something
Or, in being “more and less” human and demon at the same time
Maybe (and this one is extreme speculation because per the rules of the Redactedverse as I understand it, this is quite probably technically impossible) Hush is something of a hybrid between the two. I think it’s safe to say that demons don’t really have “genetics” and “DNA” the way humans do. They have blood in physical, humanoid form, sure, but I doubt it’s made the same way ours is while they’re in physical form because vampires can’t drink demon blood without burning up and, like, turning to ash since it’s pure magic and no one can take that in
Which is why him being a hybrid is probably technically impossible
However, it’s possible he’s a leftover remnant of ancient Sovereign experiments with humanity when they first showed up and he’s a literal fluke but I doubt that because he says to Reticuli (or however the hell that’s supposed to be spelled) “your Chorus has given up on me already?” The “already” bit feels like he is recent and new and not at all ancient. Therefore it’s also possible if wildly improbable that he’s the result of some experimenting of The Chorus
If he is some sort of hybrid, it would explain the “more and less.” More than human for the demon traits he has, less than demon because humans are, canonically, far weaker magic wielders than demons. But humans and demons also have strained relations right now and humans would see him as less than human for being some sort of impossible hybrid, and perhaps having human in him somehow gives him advantages even demons don’t have in some way…
Then there’s the fact that at the beginning of the video he and the Articulate have the same voice modulation effect going on so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I’m really looking forward to his story and seeing whatever new lore we get from this!
This has been Lore Analyst Time with your host, StarlitAngels
Thank you for coming to my TEDtalk
Edit: I just had a thought. What if he’s the creation of the Sovereigns from Death, post-Inversion?
Brachium said there was so much magic and life drained into the River from the attack—maybe enough to create something far stronger than a shade (a glorified pre-recorded message, according to Blake) and new. A demon-like figure made of human magic and lifeforce instead of pure Arcana like demons are made from but not a demon at the same time
Ohhh boy my brain is going!

One of 12 Romanian Brotherhoods
Radu Vardan—his name whispered in the wind—is not a prince nor a nobleman. He emerges from the Ebon Veil, a hidden fissure between dimensions. His origins trace back to the Nyxian Expanse, a twilight realm where shadows dance and reality bends. Here, the moon is a silver scythe, and the stars are the eyes of ancient gods.
Appearance:
His hair, like raven feathers, falls to his shoulders, framing a face both ethereal and cruel. His skin, pale as moonstone, bears the scars of battles fought across realms.
His eyes—green-gray like the storm-tossed sea—hold secrets older than the cosmos. They reflect the hunger of a thousand lifetimes.
Clad in robes spun from the threads of forgotten constellations, Radu moves silently through the mortal world. His attire bears no heraldry, no sigils of nobility. Instead, it whispers of cosmic alignments and forbidden knowledge.
Powers and Curses:
Radu does not drink blood; he devours memories. His kiss steals fragments of a person’s past—their loves, regrets, and darkest fears. These memories fuel his longevity, but they also burden him with echoes of lost souls.
He wields a blade forged from Stardust Steel, a substance that cuts through reality itself. With each strike, he severs the threads of fate, altering destinies.
His curse: He cannot step into direct sunlight. When dawn approaches, he retreats to the Abyssal Sanctum, a hidden chamber where starlight filters through obsidian crystals.
However, if he finds the Veilshard Blade, he can walk in sunlight.
Purpose and Vendetta:
Radu’s existence is bound to a cosmic debt. Long ago, he bargained with the Astral Arbiters, celestial beings who weigh souls on cosmic scales. In exchange for immortality, he pledged to hunt down rogue entities that threaten the balance.
His vendetta centers on the Luminar Ascendancy, a cabal of sorcerers who seek to unravel the fabric of existence. They manipulate ley lines, tear holes in reality, and harvest forbidden energies.
Radu’s blade sings when he faces the Luminars. Their leader, Aurelia Solstice, once his lover, now his nemesis. She wields a staff of fractured starlight and seeks dominion over all realms.
The Dance of Shadows:
Radu’s path intersects with a vampire witch—a historian named Elena Dumitra. She deciphers ancient texts, unaware of her role in the cosmic tapestry. Her eyes hold the same green-gray hue as Radu’s.
Together, they unravel cryptic prophecies, chase ley lines across continents, and confront eldritch horrors. Their bond transcends blood; it’s written in constellations.
The ancient order to which our Romanian vampire assassins belong is known as the Noctis Arcanum. Within the crumbling monasteries and hidden catacombs, they weave their clandestine web, guarding forbidden knowledge and wielding eldritch arts. Their robes bear symbols of forgotten gods, and their blades sing hymns of shadows and redemption.
And so, Radu Vardan—the Nyxian Blade—moves through realms, his steps echoing in forgotten temples and starlit groves. His tale, veiled in stardust and sorrow, weaves into the annals of forgotten lore.
Veilshard Blade
Origins:
Forged in the heart of an ancient star, the Veilshard Blade transcends mere steel. Its origin lies in the cosmic rifts—the Veil Between Worlds—where reality frays like old parchment. The Isu, architects of existence, channeled their forbidden knowledge into this ethereal weapon.
Appearance:
The blade is a shard of obsidian, its edges shimmering with fractured starlight. When unsheathed, it casts a halo of shadows.
The hilt, wrapped in midnight leather, bears glyphs that pulse like veins. Each rune whispers forgotten truths.
At its core lies a fragment of the Veil Crystal, a crystalline lattice bridging dimensions.
Powers:
Dimensional Cut: The Veilshard Blade slices through reality itself. With a single stroke, it opens rifts—portals to other realms. Step through, and you emerge elsewhere: a moonlit forest, a desolate wasteland, or the edge of eternity.
Soulbound Edge: The blade feeds on memories. When it pierces flesh, it absorbs fragments of a victim’s past. These memories fuel its power, granting glimpses of forgotten ages or unlocking hidden abilities.
Veilstrike: A whispered incantation, and the blade phases out of existence. It becomes intangible, passing through armor, shields, and even the thickest walls. Reappear behind your foe, and the blade solidifies—a fatal surprise.
Temporal Echo: Wound your enemy, and their past selves bleed. The Veilshard Blade echoes across their timeline, inflicting cumulative damage. A thousand cuts, a thousand lifetimes.
Veilward: The blade can seal rifts, mend fractures in reality. Temporal wounds, paradoxes, or breaches—Veilward stitches them shut. But beware: each mended tear leaves a scar on the wielder’s soul.
Curse:
The Veilshard Blade hungers for balance. Its wielder must maintain equilibrium between worlds. For every rift opened, a piece of their essence slips away.
The blade tempts with glimpses of lost loved ones, alternate paths, and forbidden knowledge. Succumb, and you become a living rift—a doorway for cosmic horrors.
Guardianship:
The Veilshard Keepers, a secret order, safeguard the blade. They dwell in hidden sanctums, meditating on the Veil’s mysteries.
To wield the Veilshard Blade, one must pass their trials: confront past selves, mend fractured timelines, and resist the blade’s seductive whispers.
Destiny:
The Veilshard Blade weaves through epochs, seeking its purpose. Is it a weapon, a key, or a harbinger of cosmic reckoning?
Radu Vardan, our Romanian vampire assassin, now bears the blade. His eyes reflect starlight, and his steps echo across dimensions. His fate intertwines with the Veilshard’s—a dance of shadows and eternity.

The VeilShard Blade

Known Seals
The Romanian Brotherhood dates back to Brasov in 1432. AD, while some sources say Isu weaponry, pieces of Eden and other artifacts were found in a partially sunken forge that may date back to 32M ETU. The forge is in an area that occupies a swamp dating back to when the area was partially submerged by the Caspian Sea. The area is nearby to Varna, Bulgaria, which the assassins are still fighting to claim, believing the Varna Necropolis to be a sunken isu forge or temple. Their enemies the Tulciu, believe it to be their sacred shrine.
It is interesting to note that the Romanian Assassins have adapted to a more Persian and even Ottoman like existence, which suggests perhaps some of the Levantine brotherhood traveled to this region.
