I know you've probably gotten a lot of requests for PRESSURE, but hear me out? Reader X Anglers (platonic), where reader was sent to work in the Hadal Blacksite. Urbanshade was Reader's only chance at a job due to circumstance and they were desperate; they weren't aware what they were getting into UNTIL Urbanshade had signed them up. Now a "handler" of these mutant fish, the least they can do is lessen their misery... Until the Saboteur let's everything aggressive loose.

Being desperate for a job and willing to pretty much do whatever it took to get hired anywhere, Urbanshade was the only one willing to offer you an immediate position.

However, you had to be sworn to secrecy and go through an extensive background check and other trials....just for them to transport you to the Hadal Blacksite, where they said you'll be informed of your duties.

Given the extensive security measures already in place, you assumed you were dealing with endangered sea life--or even extinct species Urbanshade revived or rediscovered.

Then you were sent to the heavy containment sector and saw what they were actually hiding down here:

A mutant angler fish--one pink and one grey--a viperfish, a frog with razor sharp teeth, and a dead(?) green blobfish. They were all huge and unlike anything you've seen before.

They were all designated as Z-283, although there were nicknames given to four of them: Pinkie, Blitz, Froger, and Chainsmoker.

The Angler was just, well, Angler.

You didn't know what kind of aquatic rehabilitation facility this was, but they didn't even look like fish that belonged in one, especially as their tanks didn't contain any water, although according to documents, that wasn't even necessary.

Smoke clouded every part of their bodies except their faces, so you couldn't get a good read on how their fins and tails are holding up (assuming they have those at all).

Least to say...it took some time getting used to seeing their frightening looks every shift.

Especially as sometimes Angler, Blitz, and Pinkie liked to scare the hell out of you by shrieking, ramming into the window barriers of their cells, and causing brief power surges.

Your main tasks were to monitor them and keep them fed and happy, although you weren't allowed to make physical contact with them.

Apparently their touch can kill...so you can understand why they needed somebody to watch them at all times and keep their behaviors in check.

But the more you interact with them, the more you start to realize that these anglers (and viperfish, frog, and blobfish) were probably just animals who were simply trying to live within the Let-Vand Zone, only to be taken and shoved into a distressing environment.

Urbanshade claims they aren't "alive", but all you see are scared animals who only knew misery.

You especially didn't like overhearing that they've used prisoners as test subjects. And they're not even food.

Out of water, they can all recognize you by scent and are seemingly aware of how good you've been to them compared to most operatives.

Because when Sebastian/The Saboteur sets them loose and causes the lockdown, and you nearly get killed by one of the many Wall Dwellers...Angler comes to your defense, eating its flesh whole.

At first you think you've finally tamed it--until the fish creature gives you that same murderous and hungry look as it gave those test subjects.

Luckily it gives you a head start and you manage to find a crawlspace out of its line of sight, watching it cause chaos and kill whatever poor sap happened to run into that same room.

Yeah...your job definitely didn't quite prepare you for this kind of scenario..

When the Expendable Protocol is initiated, Sebastian found you and only allowed you live because you could keep the anglers off his back while he's trying to find supplies and figure out how to escape.

They'll listen to you sometimes, although you learn Pinkie and Blitz are very brash and like to do their own things sometimes--while Froger and Chainsmoker are more willing to obey.

But if Pandemonium ever caught sight of you?

May god help you because none of them will.

•Stealing a horse and your father's shotgun and dagger (or any weapon you want; i know shotgun are probably not well known during those times, but they are so cool), hiding your family bones, and you start with going to a town and buying important tools for survival.

•You end up becoming an outlaw. Aside from killing, you had a hidden talent of stealing and pickpocketing, After all, your family can't always live on human meat only. They also need vegetables and seasoning, you know! Oh. wait, they are dead.

•Even after you become free and you could live with animals meat instead of human ,You couldn't handle it, The argue whatever you see blood or meat, You can't control it.

•Long story short, You have been pretty lonely and bored these days(Especially after becoming a well known outlaw), You wanted a new family or at least a partner, Maybe you can join a gang?

•Your wishes come true one day, You met Dutch vand dan Linde, You told him about how you want to join this gang, And how talented and skilled you are, Of course he didn't trusted you at first and rejected your wish, But after few times he finally agreed.

•Unfortunately, Most of them know you as the violent criminal who gut people with no sense of remorse, You aren't very different from them though, Some of them felt uneasy around you but they were nice like Mary Beth, Lenny and Karen, Others feel a bit skeptical about Dutch choice of making you join the gang like Arthur, Javier and Housea.

•Meanwhile there's Sean who flirted with you, You replied with a thanks thinking it was a nice gesture, But Mary beth glared at him and told him to no bother you while holding your hand.

•Micah on the another hand was completely rude and bitter, Always getting under your skin, sending nasty look and comment whatever you bump shoulders, Tilly told you to he's usually like this and it's better to ignore him.

•After doing your tent, And tidying your items, you pick up your special meat and seasoning and give it to hosea saying that you can help him with the cooking, He agreed.

•He was asking about the type of meat and seasoning that you're going to cook, You lied about the meat,Saying it was pork, He replied with a hum.

•Later during the night, The gang were drinking and celebrating about the new member, Lot of the members were eating your soup, Praising Hosea.

"Oh no you should actually thank (____) they helped a lot with the cooking" Hosea said with a surprisingly proud voice.

"Really? Image if that cowpoke poison' us" Micah spoke,Voice filled with venom for some reason.

"Can you stop being an asshole for a minute?" John replied sarcastically.

"It's the truth! They could have killed us all right now" Micah yelled, Putting this empty plate aside.

•You decided to stay quiet instead of begin in the middle of the fight, You honestly wanted to giggle at how fast he's eating, He don't want to admit that he actually enjoyed your food and he will probably be the first one to die because of the amount of soup he's devouring if you actually poisoned it.

•After few months, You become known as begin hardworking, And a talented gunslinger, But also with a weird charm.

•The one that end up having a great relationship is Jack, He thinks you're so cool, And you also allow him to do things he isn't allowed, Like using a gun(One time then he got knocked out against the tree, Abigail scolded you both) Or giving him lot of candy.

•Aside from Jack, Other members start respecting and trust you in hard missions and jobs, And making nice relationship,You love drinking with Lenny, Karen or sean and start doing stupid shit, You're happy they are getting along with you, Even Micah start having some sort of respect toward you,

•But of course it doesn't mean nobody will notice your weird behavior, For example whatever you go out for a hunt, Hosea sometimes tell you to bring someone with you to help, But you refuse saying that you you're better alone.

•The one who also eyeing you suspiciously is Arthur, Whatever you both go out to rob or kill, He thinks you're acting as a creep, Looking at chubby, Young and healthy men and women with a eyes of hunger, Sometimes even gulping, And telling him to go back first to the camp after killing trying to take the corpse away from this sight.

•Pearson also mentioned how you you're the one who pick and cut the meat alone, In the forest, Almost trying to hide something.

•One time while stabbing a man who tried to kill you while stealing, This blood filled your face and you licked it in such away...That makes Arthur feels some type of emotion.

•Not to mention how fucked up you look sometimes, The eyes and the bags under them, Your face wrinkles and how old you look despite begin freshly thirty, Something totally happened to you.

•So one time while the gang was happily eating from your cooking, Arthur decided to confort you in front of everybody, Mentioning every point and demand an explanation to your behavior, You panicked of course, Sean tried to defend you saying that he's overthinking, A heavy and suffocating tension fill the air.

"Are you accusing them of begin a molester??!" Karen spoke with shock in her voice

"Hey i think you're overthinking a little bit too much" Bill raised this eyebrows, Agreeing with Sean.

"To be honest with the points,It isn't impossible" Charles said while gazing at your face.

"i don't understand.."Jack said with a confused face, Abigail cover this ear,Worrisome.

"I...Well i-i" You sutter while thinking of believable excuse, But with the stares, Murmurs and arguments, Your mind goes blink, And with Dutch circling you, It seems like Arthur discussed this with Dutch first.

"Well if you won't say anything..." Dutch click this revolver and point it at the back of your head, A few gasps were heard, Micah was watching with interest.

"WAIT WAIT! I will say it just please don't hurt me!" Your eyes become hazy and your voice tremble.

"Then spit it out" Dutch said in a cold way,Growing impatient.

"I'M A CANNIBAL,I EAT HUMAN MEAT FOR SURVIVAL AND MY PARENTS FORCED ME TO EAT THEM" You screamed at the top of your lungs.

"WHAT THE HELL!" John jumped up from his seat as the bowl in this hand fell of to the grass.

"Wait doesn't that means that the she had been feeding us human meat the whole time!?!" Sadie covered her mouth.

"YA CRAZY MOTHERFUCKER" The smirk was wiped off from Micah face before he jumped at you and grabbed you by the neck.

"WAIT I DIDN'T FEED YOU ANY-"But before you could say anything, A punch was thrown in your face, You fall in the ground and Micah get on the top of you, Beating you up.

"MICAH MICAH WAIT!" Arthur and housea tried to get micah off you, Dutch send a kick to your body out of anger, He trust you.

•There was a multiple different reaction, Karen ran away with sade and others to the bushes so they can throw up, Abigail covered jack eyes and picked him up away from the the violent fight, Molly and Grimshaw looked at you with pure disgust, The others were trying to broke the fight between Arthur, Hosea and micah with Dutch.

•You were knocked out, Charles finally picked up Micah and removed him from your body, Others were trying to calm down Dutch, After few hours and arguments, They end up tying you to a tree.

•The next day when you woke up, You were met with the nastiest stares you ever seen in your life, You probably thought they were going to throw rotten tomatoes in your face.

•You don't know what they are going to do with you, But hopefully they won't hurt you in any way....

Z-222 “FALLEN ANGEL”

In late 2024, a strange signal had appeared just above the Let-Vand Zone before it pierced through the veil. It wasn’t a fish, and it definitely wasn’t an ordinary person despite the shape of them. Upon closer inspection, and once captured, it turned out to be an angel. Somehow, it found the location of the Hadal Blacksite and was heading straight for it before operatives caught it in its tracks.

This angel is vastly different compared to the Guardian Angel that was captured in the Banlands, but still provides blood just like it. The angel was soon given the designation “Z-222” as it was both used for research purposes as well as harvesting its blood. Some researchers have tried questioning it, but it refuses to respond. It only stares at them, sometimes turning away. The angel hasn’t attempted any retaliation even before it was captured. Due to this, it is advised to be wary when speaking to Z-222 or even approaching it.

Researchers then opted to study the angel’s biology to better understand it, but it appeared that it has biology strangely similar to a human. This may be because of the form it has taken which was one that appeared to be a human. The wings don’t appear to have bones either. The mask on its face isn’t a mask at all, but rather its actual face where the pale white eyes can be seen blinking. Occasionally, Z-222’s right eye will have two stars, but the reason for that is unknown.

There was one instance where a researcher was almost killed by Z-222. The reasons for this is unknown as Z-222 refused to explain and the researcher seemed to have been silenced by it due to possible threats. After this, a metal box was locked around its head to prevent incidents like this happening again. It was later found out Z-222 had no intention to kill the researcher, but the reason for the incident is still unknown.

Seeing as studying the angel’s biology is no longer possible, Z-222 is now being used as a “secondary angel blood harvester.”

2 hours into the lockdown, Z-222 had escaped containment. Ever since then, there has been little to no visual of Z-222. Operatives are instructed to attempt to recapture Z-222.

Various cameras within the facility has also been knocked out, which leads to difficulty in manages the various teams sent down into the blacksite.

About 7 hours into the lockdown, footage caught Z-222 meeting up with Z-13 but it was cut short as Z-222 noticed the camera in the room. It is unclear if they are working together, but recently, there’s been strange occurrences where operatives will find themselves in rooms that have never been constructed in the blacksite. Sometimes, they are rooms with a completely different structure.

The strange rooms within the blacksite goes as follows:

An unknown containment room

It is likely there are more to be discovered. It is also theorized this is Z-222’s doing as to throw off the EXR-P who were instructed on retrieving the crystal. It is possible that due to this, monsters like A-60 “The Multi-Monster” and ▇▇▇ had been dragged into the blacksite.

I think I should point out that the whole idea that Oberon’s the reason for the rare/easter egg rooms is just a silly idea I had that oddly fit for his character lol

"The Ferryman" from Pressure headcanons/etc.

so this is a spiritual kin thing but it also counts to me as an oc and/or headcanon interpretation because some people Just wouldn't get it (and thats okay), so i will be talking about her in third person, but just know it's Kinda Me spiritually lol. i've posted a couple of these drawings before, this is supposed to be the ferryman from pressure . . if there's actual canon designs/ideas for the ferryman i had no idea but there was absolutely nothing to work with as far as i know so here she is!! i wanted to introduce her as a character/design and ramble about some stuff i have written down about her ^_^ she's not necessarily unique, but i have been trying to slowly work on concepts for her design that is more recognizable and less of an obvious influence of sebastian/the anglers . . apologies for the ripoff-esque design by the way, i have a solid idea of the long hair over the face, large void-ish black eyes, and a ferryman robe- but everything else kind of falls off into vague ideas... she's supposed to be a mix of A Ferryman (obviously), a deep sea predator, and samara morgan from the ring (the girl that crawls out of the well) she's another one of those human experiments. her submarine was taken from the submarine dock upon evacuation, a successful retreat, but it's old, rusted, and contains junk, like a radio she uses to communicate with the inside, and windchimes hung from the ceiling. she cruises around the let-vand zone, functioning as a subtle guide for the expendables trying to find their way, since she's familiar with where a lot of things are in the site. there's a lot of plotholes and inaccuracies that i want to work out, but it's not on my list of priorities right now. i think she's fun to draw, lol

Well, here she is!

If you can’t see in the corner, her name is Nori. The sea creatures she was infused with were as followed:

- Atlantic ghost crab

- Whale shark

- Koi fish

- Beta fish

- Lemon shark

She was tested on for genetic study, which is why she has so many patterns on her. The basic idea was: “What’ll she look like when we infuse all these colorful creatures into her?”

Her backstory is pretty straightforward lol - She was a higher rank working for Urbanshade and she was the second tester to get gills infused into her body while the surgery was still getting ironed out, which meant that there was a mutation. She was slowly developing extra limbs and her legs were beginning to fuse together. Very. Slowly.

Eventually, she told an elite about this and instead of getting medical help, they just demoted her to an experiment, took away her duties and privileges in the company, and got tossed into a cell.

Her number is Z-38

While Sebastian was getting his tests, the company was figuring out what to do with Nori. The breach that he caused was actually during a test to infuse an electric eel into her body, which was obviously cut off before the DNA could get injected. The scientists died to anglers rushing through the side rooms and Nori’s containment area was broken.

After the breach and the chaos died down, she met the p.AI.nter, who directed her to Sebastian.

Sebastian was getting his little hideout ready for living in when Nori crawled through the vent. Sebastian was aware of her, but had never met her. He eventually, and very reluctantly, lets her stay with him because she’d die if he didn’t.

If she was in the game, she would be on the balcony next to Sebastian’s head, sleeping. If the player shakes a gummylight in the shop enough times, she’ll wake up and follow them to the Ridge. Until then, she’ll kill wall dwellers and warn the player of Pinkie and fake doors.

She’s generally pretty lazy and often will complain when someone wakes her up. Otherwise, she’s really helpful and despises wall dwellers with a passion.

Her design was made up as I went honestly. The webbed fingers, dot on her tail, and the necklace were all just “Hmm, what if I did this?” But I gave them ✨significance✨

Bandages - She was badly wounded before the breach and Urbanshade refused to clean her up so she has multiple dirty bandages on her body. Some of them are for open wounds, others are just to cover her.

Necklace - She was engaged to a woman back up on the surface (She’s lesbian) and like a lot of headcanons about Sebastian’s ring, she eventually outgrew it and put it on a piece of string to remember her fiancé.

Extra arms - crab

Dot on her tail - Koi fish

Lines on her waist - stretch marks from her tail forming

Scarf - It’s cold as shit down in the Blacksite, I’d think

Six eyes - “Hmm, what if I did this?” And it stuck

Blue hair - Genetic alteration and also her human form kinda had grayish-blue hair. No she’s not old, she’s 24.

Extra stuff

- Her ear fins align with her emotions

- She absolutely has favorite Expendables… when she’s awake to see them.

- She will absolutely gossip with Painter and Sebastian

- She enjoys swimming, but only when it’s with Sebastian or Eyefestation. No way she’s going out into the Let-Vand Zone alone!

- Her top speed in the water is about 15 mph (24 km per hour) because of her whale shark and lemon shark DNA mixing together (Whale sharks can only go up to 3 mph and lemon sharks can go up to 25 mph)

- The Good People scare her

- She was an aspiring author when she was a human but worked as a marine biologist because her dad desperately wanted her to be one

Research abounds at the International Space Station

At the International Space station, researchers are making strides in everything from Earth science to chemical properties. Here's what they're up to and why it matters.

Recently, researchers have found that eddies, or swirling wind patterns, increased moisture evaporation in an alfalfa field. A better understanding of the complex exchange of water and heat between the ground and atmosphere could improve remote sensing products and their use in agricultural water management.

The station's ECOSTRESS instrument takes high-resolution thermal infrared measurements of Earth's surface that provide data on changes in water availability, vegetation water stress, and agricultural water use. Researchers use observations from the USGS Landsat 8 and 9 satellites and ECOSTRESS to validate climate models and update data on Earth's surface energy (the amount of energy absorbed from the sun and radiated back into the atmosphere).

Properties of flow boiling

Researchers have identified various properties for flow boiling using n-perfleurohexane, a fluid used to cool electronics. A better understanding of this process can improve models for designing thermal cooling systems used in the electronics, energy, aerospace, and other industries.

Flow boiling, a method of thermal management, uses the heat generated by a device to boil a liquid, generating vapor bubbles that lift the heat from the surface. The Flow Boiling and Condensation Experiment (FBCE) tested a flow boiling method in microgravity, where the process is less efficient; in the absence of buoyancy, bubbles grow larger and remain near the surface.

A new radiation-resistant polymer

Researchers successfully manufactured a polymer of rare metals and other elements that showed high radiation resistance and has a suitable size and weight for use in space. This result provides knowledge that can support development of improved shielding for future spacecraft and extraterrestrial habitats.

The Roscosmos investigation Shielding Composite tested the absorbed radiation dose of two polymers during 225 days on the space station using monthly monitoring by the Pille-ISS investigation. The data showed that the material has high and stable radiation shielding characteristics. Protecting crew members and equipment from radiation is an important requirement for future long-duration space missions.

New art/small redesign:

I decided to incorporate one of her old designs more into her new one, so tit removal. No transgenderism has occurred. It's just tit removal !! She now has shorts instead of pants for swimming, webbed limbs, and three cuts on her sides that show her ribs. In-game, she would still have her shirt on, except when she is seen swimming. Those are the most substantial changes

New lore add ons:

Due to Z-32’s status as an incredibly low threat, she’s allowed to traverse freely around the Let-Vand zone. Punishments will ensue if she attempts to leave the Let-Vand zone, lead Expendables out of the Let-Vand zone, attempt to break PDG, kill guardsmen, or lead other anomalies out of the Let-Vand zone. As of currently, no attempts have been made.

In 2013, the investigation team caught a lead on Z-32’s family, or so we thought. ███████ ████████████ and ██████ ███████████ were found to be Z-32’s parents, the father being a scientist and the mother working for the government. The father had a record of many crimes, multiple being stealing drugs illegally from hospitals, and doing surgery without a license. He got out of said crimes with the help of his wife, who was erasing their records. Because of this, we are unsure if these are truly Z-32’s parents. It features three arms on each side, granting it exceptional agility and dexterity in its environment. The Gloomlotl is equipped with eight large, luminescent eyes that enable it to navigate the dark waters with uncanny precision, despite the near-total absence of light. Its presence is further defined by its external gills, which fan out in vibrant frills, serving both respiratory functions and as a display for intimidation. This behavior hints at a level of intelligence uncommon among deep-sea wildlife and has led researchers to speculate about the implications of such collecting behavior on its ecology and social structure. Notably, if a diver finds themselves distracted or disoriented, the Gloomlotl may seize the opportunity to swipe any nearby items, swiftly scurrying away to its concealed stash.

To date, there are an estimated 150 Gloomlotls residing in the abyssal regions. The Gloomlotl has yet to receive a Z-classification; they are classified simply as wild animals exploring their environment.
