Kinnporsche Fic Rec to heal your soul

Hello beautiful people, i did a thing!

i decided to compile my own fic rec list to navigate through these absolutely muddy waters and to pamper ourselves a little after these frankly very dark times. One thing this fandom has is incredibly talented writers, so i think we should all share a little love for them.

I usually read VegasPete and KimChay, but feel free to add whatever you think may be nice and juicy.

I tend to go for completed stories, with obvious exceptions (meaning, when a story is so good I have not the patience to wait). 

There is no specific order in this list, except for the time stamp on my ao3 bookmarks. Also, i always forget to bookmark my stories, so i will come and update this whenever i think an addition is needed. (AO3 decided to die while i was going through my bookmarks, that’s a personal attack).

So here we go. 

Let’s start with some classics (which means I love this author so much, I will just go and recommend every single thing they write). 

There is not a single fanfiction from Lise I don’t like. They are my ride or die vegaspete ff writer, they get the characters so well, you’ll either sob or cackle at some of Pete or Vegas quirks. My personal favorites are Walking Shadows (Vegas dealing with his own demons while realizing that, you know, Pete could be a slightly bit touched by the whole safehouse ordeal), Liability (Vegas gets hurt and Pete just can’t deal with that) and Once you are real (an amazing insight on Pete’s necessity to be seen. Sometimes). 

fuse by Artemis_on_high. [VP] Vegas and Pete fight, Pete gets offended, Vegas grovels. Deliciously angsty, there are kitten involved, it is so very beautiful

the cause and effect series by sapphicblight. [VP] Pete is a virgin, Vegas has a thing for virgins and they lived happily ever after. No seriously, currently there are two stories in the series, but they are funny to read, there is the right amount of conflict and the smut is spectacular. 

nota bene by jalesidor. [VP] Look, remember when I said I usually don’t read aything but completed stories? I was, in fact, lying. It’s a canon-divergent take on Vegas and Pete relationship, with a deliciously whipped Vegas and a stubborn as hell Pete. The first chapter had me in tears (both for the tension and the comedian Vegas can be sometimes) and from that moment on, I was hooked. Again, all of jalesidor’s stories are gorgeous, you won’t regret reading them!

dancing in a snow globe by incendir.  [VP] A wonderful narration of vegas and pete relationship through the eyes of pete. It has everything: sweetness, angst, codependency. Absolutely a favorite of mine.

discothéque rouge by lusn. lusn is another absolute favorite author of mine, I love everything they write, but this one is such a gem. It has bamf Pete, actions scenes, hot closet sex. It is wonderful. They wrote a couple of Macau centric stories too which had me bawling, so yeah. 

Home is Where Your Teeth Think, Love by timetoboldlygo. [VP] Guys, guys. I am a sucker for hurt/comfort and for the angsty exes trope and this has both. Pete and Vegas here have broken up by the time canon starts, and we see them being happy through Pete’s memories, who is on his own journey to find himself and his purpose of life (I think). It is delicious. It is also uncomplete and hasn’t been updated in a while, but I still recommend reading it because it is an amazing story. 

Black Velvet by kerrikins. [VP] A classic of the fandom, but a classic is a classic for reasons! Canon divergent and compliant, enemies to lovers, hot smut, tears-inducing angst. I loved it. Again, the kinnporsche fandom is full of talented people, so again, I do recommend every single fanfiction kerrikins wrote. 

Silver circle by greygerbil. [VP] Pete goes undercover on a mission posing as Vegas’ twink of the moment. Things happen and Vegas turns meow meow. I loved it

I’ll Swear That I Loved You by YourKnightOfRage. [VP] Not usually a big fan of the memory loss trope but omg this story was so good! You know the drill by now, delicious hurt/comfort, steamy sex, some kind of miscommunication and vegas being very much whipped

The Pain & Pleasure series by onstoryladders. [VP] this features tattoo artist!Vegas and masochist Pete. It’s actually very sweet (and hot), also kind of refreshing! Loved it!

long story short, it was always you by hawkshadow. [VP] oh god where do i even start with this. It has boxer!pete and mafia!vegas, their relationship is messy but the christmas magic fixes it all. It is a little masterpiece, seriously. Also here, hawkshadow’s stories are all amazing, i read them all more than once!

the whole Checkmate series by majestictortoise [VP/KP/KC]. This canon divergent series is so good omg, every story focuses on one specific character and they’re all amazing. I love the way the author portrays Kim, Vegas and Kinn, i am hooked. Excellent rereading value too.

The idiots & idioms series by snickerdoodlles [KC]. A very fluffy and cute social media au, i specifically recommend it for when you’re sad. It will warm your heart.

A Guide to Live A Mafia-Adjacent Life by puckbaes [KC] THIS STORY IS SO GOOD OMG. Sorry, I have very strong feelings about post canon KimChay, and this story nails them all. Seriously, puckbaes is an amazing writer, all of their stories are amazing, 100% recommend them, especially if you like reading about Porchay not taking attitude from anyone.

Even when I’m not with you by booknchocolate. [KC] Guys, GUYS. This topped my list of favorite kimchay stories in like, minutes. (Very) post-canon kc, chay is a doctor, kim is a menace. Chay goes through a lot in this, but it is an amazing ff, i want people to write fanfictions about this ff, it’s this good

Fractures On My Bones by venagrey [KC]. What can i say more then: shadow and bones au! This is a painfully beautiful read, i don’t even know what to say, just read it!

never date your heroes by venagrey [KC]. Ah, this has idol!wik being an ass to chay as a premise, but ending up being the usual whipped!kim we all love. it’s an amazing story, again, venagrey is a gem, everything they write is beautiful

life’s too short to drink bad wine by silver_etoile [VP] this is filthy smut and amazing wine, basically the reasons i keep living

love you for a second time by LilyMaxwell [VP]. I usually don’t love the hananaki disease trope, but this story had me in a chokehold. Also, Pete is a minor family bodyguard in this, it is lovely

the Power series by evashuogouki [VP]. Darker post canon Vegaspete. in these stories they’re pretty unhinged so please do mind the tags. If you find those won’t bother you, then be my guest and have a wild ride.

RTP! Your post about the posters in Sand’s room made me go and listen to AM and I’ve had it on a loop for days that album fucks SO HARD

I just added my love for Arctic Monkeys' AM in the reblog because I really love the album. Like I wrote, the album feels like the vibe of the show since every song deals with messy relationships and sex.

I love that Jojo is making playlist for each character to show how integral music is to the series because I LOVE music. I still mute my shows, but I do appreciate the influence of music on the series, and how it is used to conjure up the emotions that go along with the song.

Which is why I love that Jojo mentioned the opening sequence was inspired by Fiona Apple's "Criminal" because . . .

"What would an angel say, the devil wants to know?"

When the video came out, there was backlash because of the song's lyrics and the nature of the video. The Wikipedia entry doesn't do it justice with its notes that "it explores themes of voyeurism and adolescence" and "the song is about 'feeling bad for getting something so easily by using your sexuality.'" People wanted the video off the air, and slut shamed the singer. On top of that, the director is Romanek, who also directed a lot of famously controversial videos like Nine Inch Nails "Closer" and if you don't know that song, it features lyrics like "I wanna fuck you like animal. You get me closer to God" and the video features BDSM and crucifixes (VegasPete anyone?).

The video for "Criminal" shows the singer in different layers of undress, but it was a testament to the "heroin chic" style many supermodels (e.g. Kate Moss) portrayed at the time aka looking super skinny and having sunken features like they had done heroin, and how models also looked almost childlike, so it was Lolita, but with adults.

Then, a taste of the lyrics:

It sounds familiar right? The entire opening sequence is inspired by the video, but one person in particular just really resonates with CRIMINAL!

It’s only when Pete’s full face is in view that Vegas understands, and forgets how to breathe. The look in Pete's eyes — Vegas is finally able to name the expression. Deranged. He’s like a wild animal on the hunt, coiled tight, ready to strike, nowhere near satiated by the death he’s already wrought with his fists and his knife and — His teeth. Pete’s lips slowly stretch over his face like the cut of a curved blade, feral and hungry, teeth stained red with blood. Vegas stands rooted to the spot, paralyzed by the look in his lover’s eyes, the message in his smile. Vegas knows that smile, knows exactly what it means. His men are waiting on his orders, but they’re not expecting it to be, “Out.”

Or: Pete gets kidnapped, and by the time Vegas gets there, Pete has already taken care of his captors but is struggling to come back down to earth.

Thai QL Favorites Tag Game

So let's get into it:

Favorite Thai QL: Bad Buddy, still. After all this time it continues to hold up, I think because it packed so much intelligence into its short run of 12 episodes. I also have a soft spot for Moonlight Chicken, although it is arguably more queer cinema in episodic form and not classically a QL/BL.

Favorite Pairing: Umm, gonna leave aside the ships and talk about professional pairings for QL series. Ohm and Nanon as PatPran still top my list; they tore my heart to shreds in Bad Buddy and healed it too. But I don't need to see them as any other pair in another series also for that reason. MaxTul seem to bring it in any series they're in, so they get a mention too.

Most underrated actor: Have to agree with @pandasmagorica about Fluke Gawin Caskey. They need to use him more – he's doing a truly credible job in Be My Favorite plus wow he can sing really well. And I think Krist Perawat in the same series is also surprising all of us; he's certainly matured since his stumbly, mumbly turn in SOTUS.

Favorite Character: Eep. This is like trying to choose among your children. I love so many! Pat and Pran for different reasons (I'm very much like one, more than the other, but I love them both). But I also like Li Ming in Moonlight Chicken, maybe because of his confident self-knowledge, and all the hope he represents for the next generation.

Favorite Side Character: Arm from KinnPorsche for the wrong reasons; devastating combination of nerdy and also hot when shirtless. Also maybe Daddy Chan from the same show. And (odd/unpopular choice) maybe Dissaya from Bad Buddy; I'm just fascinated by her character and backstory, and wish we got told more of it. Also Manaow from Until We Meet Again and Yihwa in Together With Me for being the effervescent supportive besties I wish I had growing up.

Favorite scene in a QL: The opening scene in Ep.5 of Bad Buddy because it tells us so much, in so many layers, and upon the re-watch you can sense that something's starting to turn (though the closing scene on the rooftop is a very close second, for obvious reasons).

Favorite line in a QL: Pat and Pran at the end of BBS Ep.5 going "Do you want us to be friends?" followed by the softest, most gut-wrenching "No..."

Most Anticipated QL (& why): Only Friends – looking forward to something steamy for a change. Been too long since KinnPorsche.

Healthiest relationship in a QL: HeartLiMing in Moonlight Chicken. And PatPran in BBS, but only post-Ep.12 timeskip. They're so respectful to each other – but also a bit boring, so I'm not sure I'd want to watch them in another show because a drama with no drama wouldn't be a drama, now then would it?

Most toxic relationship in a QL: VegasPete in KinnPorsche? I'm still divided about their dynamic. Or TharnType in TharnType perhaps. That was just badly written.

Guilty pleasure series: KinnPorsche. Nuff said.

Most underrated series: He's Coming to Me really needs more love. Production values not the strongest but themes, acting, storyline are all top-notch (with some minor points only that I might want to quibble about). One of the earliest to deal with cultural themes in Thai QL and it was fascinating.

i’m actually mostly happy with this (even though it was short and STILL took me two years to finish it hmph). slow going but i giggled nonstop writing the chaotic texts and tweets between patpran and friends + gram and the garage gang from not me! you can check it out here <3

a micro-fic speculating about gramblack’s first meeting ft. injured black, romantic break-in’s & the G&B figurines that we got fucking baited with (p’nuchie i forget but never forgive)

my beloved assassin black fic! 3 times he’s sent after charmingly insufferable politician todd + 1 time it makes him consider a career change.

this was two and a half years ago but i remember being so excited abt the idea and then struggling Massively to write it 🤡 sometimes i toy with the idea of fleshing it out into a proper fic but i’m realistic abt my dreams now. you can check it out here!

5. moontide (tender gravity) - phayurain - 7.5k - ao3

rain’s father bans him from meeting phayu during exam season. rain decides to make this everybody’s problem. <3

this was the sweetest to write of the lot and came out very organically for a fic exchange i randomly signed up for so i was really pleased with it overall. you can read it here :)

I am back at it again with another VegasPete song

Dog Days by Ethel Cain works so well for vegaspete that I wish that I was able to make edits and I will now explain to you why:

Exhibit A:

“No one’s ever gonna love me, no, not like you do/ Every night, I’m crying in my sleep ‘cause I’m dreaming about you”

This line goes with the post safe house scenes, specifically for Pete, having to struggle with how he feels about Vegas as his own person and how he should feel about Vegas as a main family bodyguard. The soup scene where he cries is almost right on the mark.

The loving line could also honestly also work for Vegas and it’s repeated through out the song. No one really did love him in the way that Pete did. We can see that in the ending when Pete (and Macau) stay with Vegas even after he was no longer a minor family heir, which was what Gun hinged all his “love” for Vegas on. Vegas basically only knew conditional love until Pete.

Exhibit B:

“You walk a fine line between god and animal/ You’re just a feral dog I worship in bedroom ceremonials”

Again, this one is from Pete’s perspective about Vegas. Vegas with his outward persona of self absorption that can’t be touched while inwardly still being a young boy gnashing his teeth and biting everyone around him before they can hurt him. Vegas who is known for his brutality and cold sadism that should make everyone fear him but who also sits by his father’s side like a dog begging for love and praise, etc etc 

i think because it says “you’re just a feral dog” you could say that it’s also Pete seeing through that exterior very quickly and realizing Vegas is still that scared and angry kid

Exhibit C:

“Cut me up and take me like the bread and blood at church/ Love’s never been more than pain, so baby, show me how bad you hurt” 

Ok this lyric is already insane in general I absolutely love Ethel Cain but you can’t tell me that “hurt me, and then (consume) me like holy communion” is not Vegaspete’s entire genre.

i mean come ON

tear me apart, worship me, it’s all the same to them. Beat the shit out of me, tell me you love me, kiss me with blood in your mouth and i’ll ask you to be the one to kill me because to me that means I’ve meant more to you than i have to anyone else in my life. (can you love me enough to kill me)

Fic Writing New Years Resolutions

the lovely @no1petesimp tagged me in her fic writing new years resolutions and i thought it was such a fun idea!! when i started writing last november, i trulyyyy did not think it would turn into nearly 30 works so i'm really excited to see where i'll be next year!

Resolution 1: finish Great Expectations!!! it needs to get finished, i hate having fics in progress for long periods of time and this one has been active for almost a year 😭 the end is in sight, just gotta write it

Resolution 2: finish Like Starlight (vegaspete Howl's Moving Castle au) bc it's been an idea i've had for sooo long and i'm really happy with how it's turning out (even if it's longer than i anticipated 😅)

Resolution 3: start my BigChan & VegasPete pirate au!!!! this is one of my original fic ideas and i've kept pushing it off for other works but it deserves to see the light of day!!! or at least people's screens.

Resolution 4: start my KPTS wlw verse!!! another idea i've been super excited about but haven't had the bandwidth to start! i'm hoping that once the other two wips are finished i can start focusing on these ideas bc i'm feral for them!!!

Resolution 5: reach or pass 100 subscribers on AO3! stats are so meh and i worry about them less the busier i get but user subscriptions are so special bc it's like you love my work?? so much that you want to know anytime i post anything??? 🥺 i'd feel like i've 'made it' as a fic writer if i got to triple digits

I've been on a VegasPete kick (cause what else is new?) for a bit, and have found myself unsatissfied with a lot of the vegaspete playlists I come across either on spotify and youtube. Maybe I'm just too picky. I'm not saying there aren't songs in said playlists that I haven't added to my own vp playlist, but like can't we be a tiny bit more creative people. If I see Unholy or S&M once more, I'm gonna cry/scream/die, jury's still out on which. Hence why I have recommendations. Take note, this is an entirely opinion based post so don't get mad at me. Also I lean more toward rock/heavy metal/metal and shit, so if you ain't down with that, this ain't for you.

if anyone who reads this, in any kind or form, believes Ohm and Nanon OWE you to be queer (and a couple) and disclose their sexuality and now thinks that they’ve betrayed you personally or the whole lgbtqa+ community (fuck YOU especially) and discredits their hard work and the respect they have for their characters and story ...

FUCK OFF! Unfollow me, block me, make sure to get as much distance between us as possible. Because if I even get as much as a drift of your disrespect for them or a shadow of hate towards Ohm’s gf, I’ll drag you by the ears and I won’t be nice!

I’ve had it with fandoms hating on actors who are giving their best and doing their work, just because they think the actors owe them anything????? This feels like a repeat of what happened to Bright and it’s exactly the reason why some actors choose not to participate in BLs anymore. Not because they’re homophobic but because the fandoms can make their lives a living hell (and that of their partners)!

So yeah, this sounds harsh, but I don’t see any reason to be understanding with people who spread so much hate. Especially when the people it’s aimed at are giving their best and gifting us such a seriously beautiful queer representation. It’s about the characters and the story, not the actors, you idiots!

Least favourite character: korn oh my god I hate that bitch with a burning passion I keep looking for fics where they get to kill him

Least favourite ship: honestly don't really have one?? oh wait probably any ship tawan is in, but that goes without saying lmao

Reason why I watch it: it's gay and there are pretty people who murder and go feral. I'm not that complicated.

Why I started watching it: a year of seeing a few mutuals post about it and then finally starting it (and watching the whole thing in one night but let's not talk about that)

Oh I followed you a little while after I came back to tumblr this summer, because I have loved your fic since MDZS fandom and was absolutely feral over the fact that you were now writing Vegas fic. Have only come to appreciate you more and more since! Listen. I’m rummaging through parts of Ep 11 again. And as someone who has to do wound care on a pretty regular basis and who also has to move people around all the time who aren’t able to move themselves, I am going to tell you that I fully believe, with every fiber of my being, that there was some point when Vegas was trying to get Pete wrapped in that gauze, while he was bandaging those belt lacerations on Pete’s chest, when he had to just stop and sob in frustration at trying to manhandle a completely limp, unconscious body by himself with no help whatsoever and get that fucking gauze wrapped around Pete in any way that was helpful, let alone neat - particularly if he was worried that Pete was maybe dying at the time.

I’m NOT taking any criticism WHATSOEVER on this. I realize this is Vegas Theerapanyakul I’m talking about, but TRUST ME WHEN I TELL YOU. It’s not like he wasn’t already emotionally overwrought after finding Pete hanging unconscious and limp in his chains. He clearly got it out of his system and collected himself and went on, but the parts that we didn’t see? That was absolutely something that happened - Vegas Motherfucking Theerapanyakul crying in frustration and maybe, just maybe, a little bit of fear.

And this was probably with Pete’s unconscious body sprawled out on the bed on his back with Vegas bent over him, forehead pressed into Pete’s sternum and fucking pissed as hell that he has to pause for a break to cry before he can collect himself and get back to it.

HOW WE FEELING VEGASPETE NATION? Because I don’t know about the rest of y’all, but I personally am feeling like I’ve done AN ENTIRE FUCKING KILO of that cocaine from the warehouse in Ep 7.

So, LISTEN. I can kind of see now why they’ve been so stingy about doling out VP material, because if they did, it would have immediately eclipsed the actual Kinn and Porsche material. If this is the electricity Build and Bible generate on-screen (no pun intended) when Vegas and Pete are at loggerheads, I cannot even imagine what their sex scene is going to be like. I am going to need some supplemental oxygen.

Although, let’s be honest. Pete dominated this scene. Build owns it. I don’t know if Bible consciously stepped back or if Build is actually just this fucking magnetic when they let him off the leash, but I literally couldn’t take my eyes off of him. I kept forgetting to look at Bible – at Bible – because I couldn’t look away from Build and his perfect beautiful feral face. His smile when Vegas accuses Pete of foiling his plan, Pete’s so pleased with himself for outsmarting Vegas. The way he leans forward into what’s happening. And the sheer fucking determination that sets in at 40:00, when Vegas starts sparking his jumper cables at him, the way the smile falls away, but it’s not replaced by fear, OH NO. Wait, let me go dig out a thing I posted during my breakdown of the “consume you” trailer, what was it, oh yeah, when Vegas gets his hand around Pete’s throat: “You think you’ve got the upper hand? Are you sure? Am I reacting like you thought I would? Did you want to see fear? Tough shit, you’re not getting that from me.” AND HERE WE ARE. NO TURNING BACK.

And then Pete’s utter refusal to look away, the way he stares down Vegas from 40:25 to 40:30, I just. I CAN’T. I CANNOT, Y’ALL. I’m fucking feral over this shot, and this is what I’ve been saying since the beginning, for weeks now, and it’s finally happening – you’re gonna lose this one, Vegas, you’re going to lose so completely and utterly and thoroughly, he’s going to get inside your head and inside your skin, and he’s going to crack you open and tear you apart, and then he’s going to stitch you back together, and he’s going to do it all so so so unexpectedly, with his unflinching gaze and his vulnerable wrists and that shroud of grey that he’s got wrapped around him, no villains and no heroes, and it’s going to be the best thing that’s ever happened to you in your miserable life, your entire world is going to be re-made, you’re going to be re-born when you lose this confrontation, the way you’re already losing in this scene, the way he’s dominating what’s going on, naked, defenseless, tied to a post and staring down your paltry little power play.

And Vegas. Oh my god, my dude. You are so angry that it’s making you stupid. It’s like you’ve never met Pete. It’s like he’s never ridden shotgun for you on an op. It’s like he’s never stared you down while you tortured a guy. You’re looking at him, and all you’re seeing is that guy who you freaked out by leaning against his car roof like a working girl offering a BJ, and you’re completely forgetting that Pete is perfectly comfortable with violence. He’d be 100x more freaked out if you tried to kiss him right now, but this? This is the reality he swims in. This is where he fucking shines. Which they’ve actually made literal, because can I also mention how beautifully they filmed this precise shot? The lighting in this scene, the LIGHTING. I don’t have the technical knowledge to know exactly what they’re doing, but they’ve managed the same effect during this staredown that they did with Porsche at the window of Tawan’s room in Ep 9, where it doesn’t even look real, it looks like an anime.

I’m dying, I’m dead, they’ve killed me.

Pete calling Vegas simply "Vegas," rather than "khun," in front of Korn, Kinn and Porsche when he says "Vegas, don't" in Ep 14 is both an intended parallel to and as significant as Porsche calling Kinn "Ai'Kinn" in front of Big and Ken when they're about to haul him off to the dungeon in Ep 9.

And in both cases, the one who's wanted to keep the relationship secret is the one who ends up speaking the words that give it life outside their particular little sphere of secrecy.

Y’ALL. LISTEN.

Pete hands Vegas that rope to bind him in Ep 12 and then offers up his wrists, but here’s the thing, GOD, the thing that is making me feral again, as I go back and re-watch the show: Pete is absolutely perfectly capable of getting out of that rope, no matter Vegas’s intentions. We see this in Ep TWO, when Pete’s right beside Porsche - so we don’t miss him, even before we (technically) know how important Pete is to the narrative - during the training exercise in which they’re supposed to get out of rope bonds (which look a shit-ton like the rope that Pete hands to Vegas later in the safehouse) while underwater in the pool at the main family compound. We hear an entire big lecture just before they’re all shoved into the deep end (lit. and fig.) about how “Just so you all know, if you are captured, taken hostage, you have less than three minutes to untie yourselves. Make the minutes count.” We see Pete prepping himself for maximum bodyguard performance during this little speech, rolling his neck and shoulders to make sure he’s ready. He’s the first one Chan pushes into the pool. Not only does he get out of those ropes almost immediately, even underwater - he’s one of, if not the first person out of his ropes and breaking the surface, as we also watch Porsche struggle at the bottom of the pool - but he manages to position himself to float up, near the water’s surface, as he works to free himself, so that he’s right there at the top of the water to break out, immediately up into the air, once he gets his bonds off. He not only can do this, he’s fucking good at it.

I went back to Ep 12 after that. Vegas initiates what ultimately becomes their sex scene at 27:30 by reaching out, grabbing the front plackets of the shirt Pete’s wearing, and pulling him closer. Three minutes later, at 30:30, Vegas initiates the final kiss of their sex scene, just before he pulls out and rolls off of Pete to lie beside him.

Those three minutes that we get counted, all right, and Pete did NOTHING to untie himself, to extricate himself from this situation he found himself in. This was a deliberate choice he made, not just at the beginning, when he handed Vegas that rope, but consistently, constantly, every single second when he chose to remain bound and to offer himself up for 1) whatever Vegas wanted to do and 2) the intimacy of that encounter. At no point was he able to fall back on, “well, I’ve made my decision and now I’ll have to live with it, what can I do?” Every. single. second. was freely given.

Y’all. I’m chewing glass again.

And then I compare that constant, consistent gift of his consent - in the bonds that he could escape at any time, with nothing but his clever fingers and his trained self-sufficiency - to the handcuff, which he needs a tool for - if not the key, something he can pick it with - and I want to cry again.

(And then I think about those goddam bolt cutters that Vegas left lying around, clearly within reach at every point in time post-pill, and I want to chew glass again. They’re such a beautiful disaster, and I love them so much.)

pete quietly joining kinn’s clan of young, feisty new immortals without revealing that he is hundreds of years older. pete hiding his years behind the brick wall of his smile, deflecting conversation about his past. pete’s ruthlessness and lack of care for humanity occasionally slipping out, but being brushed under the rug.

pete getting kidnapped by vegas, the lieutenant of the rival clan. vegas torturing pete, thinking pete is young and innocent like the rest. pete maintaining the facade (out of pity for this young, naive child, who has no idea what he is stepping into). right until vegas taunts him and he snaps.
