I was listening to "A Photograph to Remember" again (totally not because I needed to remember what Vella's voice sounds like) and I noticed something interesting. When Jenny was asking about how The Bloomsbury Bunch all met, Vella specifically, Tom says it "was before his time". So I was wondering if he meant like, before he was even born? So I did some research... We know Vella was woken up from her sleep when Queen Victoria was building The Albert Memorial. So I jumped over to Wikipedia and it says that the memorial was opened in July 1872. Furthermore, we know it happened when Queen Victoria disrupted a power line with a trowel which means it happened during the memorial's construction. And according to albert.rct.uk, construction began in 1864. So assuming the digging part happened within this year, that means Vella woke up in 1864, and since I believe the audio stories take place in 1893, that means Vella has been awake and about in the "modern" world for 29 years! This also prompted me to see how long Madame Vastra has been awake. I looked it up on the TARDIS Fandom wiki (I know Fandom is not the best but their wikis were the only ones that had a page dedicated to Madame Vastra) and it said she was woken up in 1888 (I checked again today and now all sources just say 1880s for some reason). So Vastra has only been in the "modern" world for 5 years. Where am I going with this? Not sure, just that Vella has been awake and about for about 24 years longer than Vastra and I want to know what she was doing all this time.
