Would like to apologize to everyone who I may have told that the Valor’s only daughter was Aurora because during my re-read I learned Vesper Valor is female. I did not know this 😭

1. Significance of Jacks eating apples and the different colors

2. Vengeance’s cuff - is it still being worn by Eva?

3. The last broken heart scar - when if ever will the bargain be repaid?

4. Who was the first Fox Jacks fell for? And why wasn’t she named. No backstory or excerpt about her.

5. The Valor children and their backstories (especially the sons, and Vesper)

6. Who cursed the Valors into a sleeping state and locked them in the arch?

7. Did Jacks ever meet Eva’s parents in the curiosity shop? Why did the bell ring in OUABH prologue and for whom?

8. Who was the ghost librarian in the Valory library from TBONA?

9. What will become of the future in the North and of the side characters (Lala+Chaos???)

10. What happened to Luc, Tiberius and Marisol?

11. Will Evangeline stay in contact with the Dragna sisters? What will Donnatella’s reaction be?

12. Do all Fates have 2 hearts? Does that mean they are capable of feeling emotion as long as they have the second heart in them?How does one extract the second heart from one’s person - is there a cost to this magic?

13. How did the Ballad of the Archer and the Fox really end?

14. Why didn’t Eva and Jacks or Wolfric and Honora just obliterate the story curse? This would’ve made for an epic ending and I was expecting for something like this to happen.

15. What was the actual cause behind the end of Jacks’ curses? If the archer curse was lifted out of pure might and will (like with the first fox), then what made his kiss non-lethal to Eva? (Was it Vengeance’s cuff protecting her and recognizing Jacks’ intentions as non-harmful? Or was their first kiss, a true love’s kiss simply capable of breaking curses?)

16. Did Garrick of the guild of heroes just give up on hunting Jacks? Is Jacks still wanted in the North?? Will the Valors clear Jacks’ name or will the story curse just wipe it out? What about the massacre of House Fortuna - will that be dumped on Apollo now or will Castor’s vampire nature be brought to light by the Valors?

17. How will Valors relay the news of Apollo’s disappearance from the throne? Will they declare him a dead traitor/madman? And will they reveal their true identity as Valors or continue as Vales but assume power?

Evangeline always loved the Ballad of the Archer & The Fox , she always tried to know the ending of the story but the story cursed made the story forgotten. When jacks told her the ending she didn't like it. She now loves her & jacks story the most but all along she is the one who gave the ballad happily ever after!

The ballad didn't end with the first fox dying but continued till jacks found his meant Fox , Evangeline Fox!

The ballad always chased evangeline from her very childhood because the story was unfinished.

With evangeline fox the future glimpse of vesper valor came true. Jacks indeed fell in love with the Fox.

There's something about this that just feels so Bruce. Just the way he could identify the components of her "secret" perfume and let her believe that she was still the only one who knew. Batman will know your secrets and he'll let you know that he knows, but Bruce… I think this is the first time that the comics have managed to convince me that there was something there between Bruce and Vesper, that it made me think that they could've been something more.

Batman (internal monologue): Strange that the thing I remember most about her isn't her face, or her voice… but it's the way she felt… how comfortable she was, leaning against me… the smell of her hair and her "secret" perfume. She wanted it to be her own private scent… a mix of Quintana Valore and Chanel no. 5. I never told her that I knew.

A Ballad of Never After predictions

SPOILERS included, you’ve been warned.

At the end of ABONA, Apollo comes out of the woodwork with the magic ability to erase memories. He erases all of Evangeline’s memories of Jacks, thus erasing any negative memories of Apollo as well. Who is Apollo and why did he do this?

In Chapter 16 we get this information:

“But a few things never seemed to change, such as the names of the Valor children and a few of their defining characteristics. Aurora was sweet and was always described as the most beautiful girl who’d ever lived, followed by her twin Castor, who was said to be quite noble. Vesper could see the future. Tempest and Romulus--another set of twins--were great inventors, responsible for the magical arches. Dane was some sort of shifter, and Lysander had a gift that involved memories. Every story said they were handsome and kind and generous. The family was close, protective of one another, and beloved until...

Something horrible happened.”

Perhaps Apollo = Lysander.

If he is, indeed, capable of manipulating memories, then it would be possible to erase the memories of anyone who knows he is Lysander.

Why did he do this? I’m not sure, but it’s worth noting that one meaning of the name Apollo is “destroyer.” Could Lysander have been instrumental in causing the “horrible” event that tore the Valor family apart?

Why is it that all the Valor children have some magical ability and then Aurora and Castor don’t?

List of their attributes from TBONA:

That was before we knew that Castor was Chaos. So, maybe giving him no magical ability like the rest of his brothers was a way of almost evening things out? But why doesn’t Aurora have anything special about her? I have seen theories about her being the first fox and I wouldn’t be surprised if she may be. Especially the “Aurora + Jacks” at the Hollow.

Maybe Aurora just changed which of her brother’s friends she was interested in once Lyric died but Jacks wasn’t interested so she changed her appearance and transformed into a fox with her magical ability?

We know that Dane could shape-shift maybe so could Aurora?

This is literally the most out of pocket-random thought but it bugs me. There’s like no reason for Aurora and Castor to not have anything special except for the fact Castor later becomes Chaos and it’s the worlds way of balance. And the chance that Aurora hid hers.

Muitos pensadores, em suas teorias filosóficas, questionaram o modo como o mercado econômico trabalhava. Dinheiro e poder sempre foram os protagonistas para as mais tenebrosas guerras. Vesper, particularmente, estava lendo sobre dois pensadores de diferentes épocas: David Ricardo e Karl Marx. Enquanto para David Ricardo, sua teoria defendia que o aumento de produção seria beneficente pois os preços iriam baixar e, com isso, todos teriam a chance de aproveitar do que produziam, para Marx, uma classe ganhava mais que a outra, e a classe que, teoricamente, não produzia, detinha os lucros, enquanto os trabalhadores eram oprimidos. Ricardo se prendia aos valores e Marx à luta de classes e como os valores foram produzidos (por quem foi feito, como foi feito). 

Ela vira as páginas com total interesse, comparando aqueles pensamentos.

No final, tudo prendia-se à pura política. E era essa temática que causava guerras na modernidade. Aumentar a produção, aumentar os lucros burgueses, vender trabalho com mais desespero, causar pobreza. David Ricardo estava completamente errado em sua teoria na prática. Marx, já fazia uma bela pesquisa de campo, porém, ao colocar seu cenário perfeito em prática, poderia quebrar o mercado econômico facilmente.

Ambos poderiam.

A quebra traria desespero, pobreza. Levaria os mortais a fazerem coisas estúpidas e injustas que poderiam causar dor.

Traria morte.

A mulher fecha o livro e encara o lado de fora de seu escritório com pensamentos flutuando em sua mente. Um sorriso brota em seus lábios pintados de vermelho, enquanto observava as cabeças passando na rua em frente ao prédio comercial. Cada um possuía suas guerras pessoais e a injustiça ainda reinava nos humanos – no entanto, acalmava-se em seu leito, sem punir-se de forma injusta. Mesmo que levasse inocentes no caminho, sua conduta ainda era justa. Ela os curava com seu fogo, trazia paz às suas macas. Dava e tirava.

Era muito mais divertido observar e punir os mortais. A forma como eles faziam mal a si mesmos e a Terra merecia vingança. Apenas os Deuses detinham o poder de machucar o mundo. Apenas Deuses julgavam Deuses e, sua mente, enquanto encarava o céu da Austrália, retornou a Deusa Ma’at e a Sala de Julgamento de Osíris. Apesar do mesmo ter um senso de decoração enigmático para o portal que lhes representava, causando certa risada grandiosa da Deusa Leoa, ela sentia certo cuidado com seus companheiros, sempre pronta para destruir os inimigos de seus aliados.

Semicerrou os olhos escuros ao ver, de longe, um pequeno menino arrancar ramos de grama do jardim de entrada. Seu punho se fechou, mas respirou tão fundo que não ouviu a porta abrir. Sua sala era levemente grande, possuía uma decoração simplista e qualificada para sua empregabilidade. Confortável o suficiente para receber seus clientes, com um bar, boa vista e livros nas prateleiras que a mesma orgulhava-se de ter lido.

— Srta. Okeanos — a secretária parecia atrapalhada, segurando pastas enquanto os cabelos cacheados esvoaçavam de forma belíssima. — Aquele escândalo… — repete devagar, vendo as bochechas de sua empregada tomarem uma tonalidade avermelhada — A combinação entre corrupção e ineficiência aumenta a rejeição e a desconfiança da sociedade sobre a classe política e instituições democráticas. Ele fez, então ele paga. De uma forma ou outra, a polícia estará com provas do roubo — Vesper diz, sabendo bem a que escândalo a secretária falava. Ajustou um grampeador em sua mesa, alinhando-o de maneira que lhe agradasse — Mande o Governador não se pronunciar até que eu me pronuncie com ele a sós. Caso contrário, causará fortemente uma guerra política em Sydney sem motivo algum. Apesar de quê…

Ela estala a língua e gesticula para a mulher sair. A secretária concorda, não entendendo o que se passava na mente de sua chefe, mas se apressando em se retirar por pura vergonha ao ver as orbes daquela figura encarar sua silhueta como uma devorada. Vesper retornou a girar a cadeira com um sorrisinho, mas esse se desfez – a criança continuava a arrancar o gramado com um rosto beirando ao maldoso. Ela mexe sua língua mais uma vez, sentindo o fogo em sua garganta. O ar se pesa e uma brisa quente viaja da janela ao rosto do garotinho. Ele berra, se batendo. A mulher sorri meio divertida, mas se compadece quando a criança chora. Vesper tombou sua cabeça para o lado e negou, sentindo compaixão pela dor de um ser inocente que ela machucou sem avaliar os ocorridos.

Às vezes, a mulher sentia-se como duas: uma humana gentil e uma Deusa invocada com cheiro de morte e sangue. Sentia-se assim desde que tomou seu lugar entre os humanos de forma mais apaziguada e passava muito mais tempo em seu disfarce. Apesar de sentir falta das enormes batalhas, do sangue e do caos, apenas se sentar na sala de estar e ler um livro lhe parecia tão inovador e interessante quanto. Era como se estivesse se tornando um deles pouco a pouco; perdendo sua essência feroz, não sentindo o rugido de sua garganta explodir exércitos por onde passava.

Fechou seus punhos mais uma vez, balançando a cabeça. Os cabelos negros dançam e a mesma decide se levantar, buscando uma dose de uísque e não olhando mais o menino se debater na entrada do prédio com o rosto quente pelo fogo cósmico de seu Sol.
