Still, Aaron wants a baby of their own and, through surrogacy, Annie is born. Aaron is over the moon but Robert’s moods swing from detached to panic to indifference over Annie. Unfortunately, Robert bottling of his emotions leads to his putting Annie in danger more than once. Robert sees it as karma if he loses Aaron or can’t love Annie properly. What will it take to get Robert the help he desperately needs before he loses his family?

The Prodigal Husband Returns (2019) 22.5K words, robron_til_the_end

Reunion 3.0. Robert was sentenced to eight years for GBH with intent. It’s now five years later and Robert is free. After a few days to get himself together, Robert returns to the village to find Aaron is involved with a paramedic (relatively new so irrelevant bloke) and worried he wants to take Sebastian away from. After reassuring Aaron that is not the case, Robert begins to bond with Sebastian while also getting closer to a still skittish of being hurt Aaron. They have cheerleaders in Chas (definitely AU) and Nicola.

Adam and Vic separately manage to convince Aaron and Robert respectively to be each other’s date (blind) to their wedding. Unfortunately, first impressions do not turn out well courtesy of Andy and Katie…

Alternative take on the must miss Lachlan/that woman in the woods mess. Here, Lachlan took an unconscious Robert to the woods and played minds games on him to believe he was held for longer than it was. The bulk of the story though is Robert’s rescue and the aftermath in hospital with Aaron (who never gave up on him) by his side and others happy he made it out alive.

Not on my watch!!! is a character vignette starring my oc, Nimble.

For a little background, Amvrosiy Nights is a sci-fi cyberpunk world set on a planet called Svetovid. Human's conquered the planet and its people, the Tovids, several hundred years ago and Svetovid was labeled a "Pleasure Planet" for the empire and over time the one remaining city is a massive den of vice.

Nimble is a sixteen year old hacker/netrunner/cyberruner/insert whichever term ends up winning out who isn't afraid to get her hands dirty. Or bloody. When she was six or so Nimble's mother was murdered by a banned patron of the brothel she worked at at the time. Nimble was raised by the other girls at the club collectively.

So to the WIP you picked:

Nimble is spying while snacking at a food cart when she hears this woman calling out to her little boy to run. It's a flashback to a point in her past and she's on it. She jumps in the middle of it, stopping the confrontation before the asshole can hurt the stranger, and uses some of her kit to subdue him before the stranger's partner, a well connected Tovid, shows up to clean up the mess.

This project was me rolling the dice, quite literally, to clear my mind and feel productive as the stresses of the world started to weigh down this fall. It's slow going, as most original content stuff can be and I'm stewing it for now as I attempt to actually finish the other story I'm writing.

Nimble came screaming out of the ether with all the energy you might expect from a teenager with blades installed in their arms and feet and enough cyberware to make Adam Smasher blink (okay maybe not that much but Vic might be concerned if he saw her lol) She'll be a force in Amvrosiy, whether the city is ready for her or not.

Beast Boy Headcanon/Vignette

He's going to outlive everyone.

Gar thinks its rather typical of his luck that he watches all his friends grow old and leave him. Dick goes peacefully in his sleep at the respectable age of 81. Vic manages to live for a good 112 years, but prosthetics can only push a lifespan so long, and ultimately he's human under all that metal. Star lives to the venerable age of 155. But Gar can always see it coming, he can tell his friends are slowing down for years hence, forgetting things. It's all part of life, a force he's intimately familiar with.

But Raven? Raven hurts.

They have a good run, not as long as some, but they make it work for 30 years, have a few kids and help shape the future of heroes. But when her time comes, Gar is inconsolable.

It's important to note that she never technically died, in truth she ascended, becoming a being of pure cosmic good. Overcoming her demonic heritage and trans-substantiating into a goddess of healing and light, but it hurts all the same, and Gar is never quite the same again. He sits and waits for his number to come up.

It never does.

He reaches his 100th birthday, than 150, than 211? Maybe. Gar stops keeping track after a while. He can tell he's getting older based on what he sees in the mirror, but it's slow. Whatever age he is, he looks middle aged at best. Just his luck, of course he'd be immortal to some degree, one last way for the universe to punish ol' Gar.

He decides to wander the world. It doesn't look anything like when he was a kid, old Nations that seemed indomitable have long since collapsed. New Nations now fight to be heard and bargain for their place in the world. Metropolis and Gotham decided to bite the bullet and become one city, after flirting for years they realize they're stronger together, and it becomes the new capital of Delmarva, one of those new Nations. It's actually nice now, if you can believe it.

Gar visits New York most often while he wanders, It was where he first met Raven, and it never ceases to amaze. That's where he first comes face to face with a Ravenist, a new (well New when he first meets them) Religious movement, that worships the "Bright Daughter" as they call her.

Gar can see the appeal. A story of redemption, a woman fated to be a destroyer instead turning from the dark to walk her own path and eventually, ascending to godliness? You could definitely make a religion out of that. It's just weird when you knew them personally.

He's maybe 600 now, give or take. Gar stays in contact with the Ravanists for decades, giving them first hand accounts of time before the Great Collapse, of the age of Superheroes. He leaves out his relationship with Raven, it would make things too complicated, and he's not comfortable with them potentially working him into their religious doctrine. He's just happy to know that Raven is remembered as a hero.

Then one day, he dreams of her, which is a regular occurrence for Gar, but this time it's different. This time it's really her, he can feel it. From then on, he can feel her just on the edges of his perception, a presents all around him and within him, pushing him to help and to find joy in the world. Maybe those Ravenists were on to something?

It's the 31st millennium, he's starting to show some real age now. His hair had long ago fallen out, but that's alright, Gar actually thinks he pulls off the bald look rather well. He has wandered the Earth for 1000 years now, giving wisdom and a helping hand where ever he goes. Most people don't really know him. They tell stories, of course, of the Green Man, a shape-shifter and trickster. He's become a bit of a legend of his own. But something pulls him away from the Earth, the home he's known all this time, up and away into the stars. To a planet far away from Sol, a deserted world, parched and lifeless.

Gar doesn't question it, Raven works in mysterious ways, and she's always nudged him in the right direction. He can feel himself slowing down, forgetting things, it feels like this might be his last journey. He's not sure if he'll ever come back to Earth.

One last time, he walks around the globe and says good by to the place where they met.

After 1115 years, Garfield Logan dies. Although it's important to note that he doesn't technically die. Upon the crack soil of a deserted planet, Gar meditates and reaches enlightenment. And one last time, he changes shape, letting go of his consciousness and disseminating his form across an entire world.

There, hanging in a distant corner of space is an entirely green planet. Now full of new life. An oddity to the rest of Known Space, as the planet has no plant life to speak of, no fungus or molds, but an entire ecosystem of animals. All in various shades of green from chartreuse to sage. A fully working environment, each life form living and breathing and growing in sync. a wild world.

One last trick.

The sun rises on an alien beach, the new day buzzing with life and possibility. In the rays of light one might think they see two figures walking along, hand in hand, leaving no foot prints behind in the gray sands. One a vibrant purple and the other and dark green. As the sun rises the figures disappear from view, perhaps they are a trick of the light?

Light blankets the new world, watched over and tended by two spirits of life, Planet Rae.

NXTREME : A Review Of NXT 2300

Last night , NXT went extreme. Shawn Michaels took NXT on the road to the 2300 Arena. The 2300 Arena plays a big part in professional wrestling because it was the home to Extreme Championship Wrestling( ECW ). NXT was aired on Wednesday due to the Presidential Election. Also, it went to head to head with AEW Dynamite. This is a review of the show. All thoughts are my own.

The introduction to NXT took me back to the 1990s which hit me with a feeling of nostalgia. I was born in 1997 during the prime of ECW, however , I go back and watch it on Peacock. In the intro , we hear the original ECW theme song with Paul Heyman’s voiceover. We see the stars of NXT such as Stephanie Vaquer, NXT Champion Trick Williams , Ethan Page, Ridge Holland , Cora Jade , NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez , Guilia, Lola Vice, The Family , etc and iconic moments that took place in the ECW arena. We also see vignettes of legends such as Rob Van Dam , Dawn Marie , Francine , and the Dudley Boyz. This was the best show intro I’ve seen from them. Now , let’s get into the match card!

To kickoff NXT 2300, the Hardcore Match with Jaida Parker and Lola Vice took place. The legendary ECW Original , Dawn Marie, was the Special Guest Referee. Before the show started , Jaida and Lola cut promos on each other for the WWE NXT social media accounts. I thought their promos were phenomenal because it showed off how intense their rivalry is and their built up anger towards each other . Parker and Vice used any weapon that they could find from trash cans , kendo sticks , steel chairs , ladders, etc. However, I just want to know where did Ms Parker find a brick to hit Lola with? Jaida Parker backed up everything she said she was going to do in the match against Vice and picked up the victory. Both women put their bodies on the line and put on a phenomenal match . It was also amazing to see the beautiful Dawn Marie kill it as the special guest referee. I loved how she had ECW on her boots.

In a backstage segment, ECW Original and WWE Hall of Famer , Rob Van Dam , was giving the former NXT Women’s North American Champion, Kelani Jordan , a pep talk as she was preparing for the huge 10 woman tag team match which was the main event. After this , RVD was attacked with a steel chair by Wes Lee, who had a match against The Young OG, Je’Von Evans. This match was the battle of two of the best high flyers in the business in my opinion. With Lee being the Heel he is , he was going to hit Evans with a steel chair , until , RVD’s music hit. RVD was coming down to the ring to get revenge on Lee. Thus , Lee was going to hit the WWE Hall of Famer with a steel chair again , however , RVD dodged it. Evans picks up the victory. These two have amazing in ring chemistry in my opinion and need to have more matches together .

In a segment that was taped , we see the NXT North American Champion, Tony D’Angelo and The Family ( Channing ‘ Stacks Lorenzo , Adrianna Rizzo, and Luca Crusifino ) , met up with the legendary Nunzio and Tony Mamaluke ( Full Blooded Italians ) . The phone call Tony D got on last week’s episode of NXT built up to this. Nunzio challenges D’Angelo for the North American Championship. This was pretty surprising to me when Nunzio did this . I’ll get more into this later.

NXT General Manager , Ava, and her two associates, Mr. Stone, and Stevie Turner , came to the ring for a big announcement. Ava’s announcement was about NXT Deadline and the Iron Survivor Challenge. Deadline will take place on December 7 2024, which is on a Saturday in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After the announcement was made , Mr.Stone began taunting the fans and then, the lights went out while doing so. When the lights came on back on and Stone was still taunting the Philly crowd , ECW Original , and TNA Hall of Famer , Rhyno , was the corner of the ring . Stevie Turner told Stone to turn around and soon, he was Gored by Rhyno. Commentators , Vic Joseph , and WWE Hall of Famer , Booker T , went wild as well as the fans . I even went wild. I also laughed at Stone too because that’s what he gets.

In a small segment , we see Stephanie Vaquer , Zaria , Jordynne Grace , Kelani Jordan , Stephanie Vaquer , and Guilia preparing for the main event. Guilia tells them that they will beat all of their enemies. Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson interrupt them to put all of them on notice . Stephanie and Guilia step up to them. Lash and Jakara say their have their money on the champions of the division , Roxanne Perez and 1/3 of Fatal Influence, the Women’s North American Champion, Fallon Henley.

Next match is a tag team match . All EGO Ethan Page and Ridge Holland took on the NXT Champion, Trick Williams , and the legendary WWE Hall of Famer , Bubba Ray Dudley . The build up to this match came from Halloween Havoc and social media . Booker T was great hyping Trick up and always is when he comes out the ring . It makes me as a fan look forward to seeing Williams, so thanks Booker. The coolest thing about this match was seeing Bubba Ray rock the iconic Dudley Boyz camouflage and glasses . It was cool to see him put a pair on Booker T. The match was great. I think Dudley and Williams made a great team. To me , this introduced him to a new generation of fans. What shocked me was Holland pinning Williams to pick up the win for himself and Page. I was pretty happy about that because I love Ethan Page. Dudley and Williams had to defend themselves against the two again , however , when Bubba Ray told Trick to get the tables , he couldn’t find one due to Page’s rule of no tables under the ring . Therefore , the Dudley Boyz music hit again and here comes D-Von bringing a table to the ring . Ethan Page was put through the table with The Dudley Boyz raising Trick Williams’ hand and Williams becoming an honorary Dudley with D-Von putting the glasses on him. This was a great match and the table spot will forever be legendary.

The team of Cora Jade and NXT Women’s Champion, Roxanne Perez ( aka Team 2001 ) , and Fatal Influence ( Women’s North American Champion, Fallon Henley , Jacy Jayne , and Jazmyn Nyx ) , cut a promo against their opponents. They kept talking about how they wanted to be like them at the top. I’m not gonna lie , Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade both gave me major AJ Lee vibes during this promo. They were the two who stood out to me the most.

What I wasn’t expecting to happen was the North American Championship match . Nunzio is 52 years old and stepped in the ring against Tony D’Angelo. What I didn’t like about this match was seeing some of the comments made about Nunzio’s appearance online. Nunzio still has it in my opinion. Body shaming isn’t cool. I was on the edge of my seat during this match because I thought Nunzio had Tony beat. Tony D took care of business by retaining the North American Championship and embracing Nunzio in a hug and raising his hand. This is something I love seeing. What I mean by this statement is seeing legends in the business who still step in the ring and help young talent by putting them over. I’ve seen it happen at Independent Wrestling shows.

Before the main event , a video package and promo of Nikkita Lyons airs. She talks about how she did a favor for Oba Femi by taking Adrianna Rizzo out . She said she knew she had come back different when she returned due to being attacked lot. Now, she’s the attacker and is going to drop the Women’s Division one by one . She calls out Rizzo for a match. To me , I think she needs more work on her promos and in the ring . I didn’t like this promo at all.

Before the main event , ECW Original and the Queen of Extreme , Francine , was spotted and recognized by Booker T and Vic Joseph. I thought it was amazing to see her there. She’s one of the most iconic managers in professional wrestling. I always credit her as one of my favorite women in wrestling .

Now , time for the main event , the 10 Woman Tag Team match . All I can say is, this should’ve been and needs to be the Women’s War Games match for Survivor Series. This was a test of strength and stamina. It showcased how rivalries and storylines with Women’s Wrestling need to be showcased. I have two MVPs for this match from each team. For Team Vaquer , it was Zaria. Zaria showed her strength for her team. When she lifted Jacy Jayne , I thought Jacy was scared for her life . The second MVP is Kelani Jordan. Kelani took RVD’s pep talk to heart and killed it. She’s one of my favorites to watch. And for Team Roxanne , it was Roxanne Perez. They don’t call her ‘ The Prodigy ’ for nothing . The second MVP is Jacy Jayne. Jacy’s selling is getting so much better and how I could tell was when she screamed in fear when Zaria was going to slam her . When all the women came into the ring , I thought it was epic to see an all out brawl. They gave it everything they had . I thought that Team Vaquer was going to lose when Zaria accidentally speared Jordynne Grace and when Lash and Jakara interfered. However , Zaria made the save and Team Vaquer won. The 10 women tag match was the match of the night in my opinion. They killed it .

My Final Thoughts:

Chef Michaels gave us a legendary show ! I hope NXT 2300 can introduce ECW to the new generation of wrestling fans . My favorite moments were seeing Francine and RVD. What I didn’t like was not seeing Paul Heyman, the brainchild of ECW. But , if he comes back with the Bloodline story , I get it . I hope this can become a yearly show with NXT! Hell, make it a PLE!

Right off the back, he comes out as bisexual and all the usual antis in the village instead welcome him with zero animosity (barring Katie). Robert automatically hits it off with Finn as well as Aaron but here they take it slow as they become boyfriends. Unfortunately, Aaron’s insecurities cause him to do something that tears apart their relationship (and Robert’s trust in him). But when Aaron’s past comes back to haunt him causing him self-harm, will the trauma lead the lads beyond being mates and back to being more?

Robert has ended his marriage to Chrissie realizing that the only person for him was Aaron, who makes him complete. Now that Robert and Aaron are officially together, Robert wants the two of them to live on their own and no longer at the pub. This leads to Robert buying Home Farm and he and Aaron redoing it to their likes. The next natural step is marriage for Robert (even if he decided previously it wouldn’t be in his future). The tiny (well not so tiny) problem with that is Chas who is unable to let go of his past as he had hurt Aaron previously. What will it take to make her come around, if at all?

The first has Vic trying to access Andy’s phone to figure out why he ran from the court hearing only to come across a recording he made of his confrontation at Wilson’s field for chicken run 2.0 with all in the pub to hear including Jimmy. The second offers up reflections from Robert about Jack’s having him leave the village and how Jack chose to cover and protect Andy on multiple occasions plus his brief return for Jack’s funeral. a man appears to you in the dark the way a serpent must’ve come to eve; slow, languidly, certain.

his dark hair is long and gleaming like ink in the night. for a moment, he stares at you and you at him. then he speaks;

So wendy got injured in like Feb 2023, and spent a whole year out. When WWE teased her return, the vignettes showed a Wendy that woke up kind of groggy and like ready for revenge. Then she showed up with a darker image and most of us, including Vic, the commentator, believe she woke up on the wrong side of bed and became like a sleep paralysis demon

Jordan’s shoulders slumped when he heard a knock on the door. A familiar voice asked, “Hey, this is the proctologist’s office, right?”

“Fuck off.”

“Oh, thank Christ. I was starting to wonder what a guy had to do, to who, to get a finger up his ass around here.” Ben LaVoie strode into the room, lab coat slung over his shoulder, and leaned against the edge of the desk with his hands in his pockets. He took the room in, cramped and cluttered with papers and binders though it was, and whistled. “Look at you with your big important office. I see you and Desai have the same flair for interior decorating, eh?”

He grabbed a box of surgical gloves off a nearby shelf and nudged Jordan with it. 

Jordan shrugged him off and ran a hand over his face. He groused, “I’ve had the job a day and I’m already fucking sick of the paperwork. You know chief residents set the schedules? I’ve had second years popping in all night, bugging me about some ‘can I get the weekend off’ shit.”

“Oof.”

“If I’m giving anybody the weekend off, it’s gonna be me. I’ll need it more than they will. People are already calling in favours, ‘Oh, remember six months back when I covered for you on-’”

“Disgusting,” Ben glanced down at the sheet Jordan had in front of him. “Exploiting generosity and personal connection for the sake of base, selfish… What the fuck? You’ve got me doing a thirty-six next week?”

“Johnson needed friday off. I needed somebody trustworthy covering for him, and you’re slightly less of a moron than the rest of our peers, so you’re it.”

“Fuck Johnson. I’m a newlywed. I wanna go home and hang out with my wife.”

“He’s going to his uncle’s funeral.”

Ben rolled his eyes skyward. He grumbled, “Oh fine. Fuck, osti de cris de tabarnak, certains putains de gens ont une excuse pour– Fine. Okay. I’ll work the overnight.”

Jordan clucked his tongue patronizingly. “Aw, aren’t you just an angel? If they don’t drown me in requests, I’ll get on nominating you for that Nobel Peace Prize.”

“...I liked you better before you were my boss.”

“What’d you do to my car?”

That had been the story of Rocky Kolar’s afternoon - Officer Castle had been circling around the Ford Vic, questioning him on every chip in the paint and dent on the bumper. His specialty was fixing emergency vehicles, and that vocation took him all around the city and introduced him to all different sorts. And of those sorts, Castle was amongst his least favorite.

“I did exactly what I’m paid to do: I fixed it.”

It seemed like Castle fucked up his squad car some way or other every other month, and Rocky always ended up being the one to fix it. And then every time he did, Castle insisted on inspecting every inch of it, and critiquing the ways in which Rocky had fallen short of the standard of service that was expected.

But the fact was, Rocky hadn’t been paid to repaint it, or buff out dents. The brakes needed work, so he’d worked on the brakes. The stain was the first thing he’d found that hadn’t been there when he’d dropped it off.

“You messed with it some way. I can just feel it.” Castle shouldered past him. “Pop the hood again.”

Rocky obliged him. Castle stuck his head inside, grumbling to himself as he looked around. It took another couple minutes before he found his next objection; “And what do you call this?”

Rocky circled around him. “What do I call what?”

Castle whacked at a metal circle behind the grill with the wrench he’d picked up. “This fucking thing.”

“...What do you think it is?”

Castle straightened up and looked directly at him. “I think you’re just the kind of crazy redneck fuck that would try and kill a cop for bragging rights.”

Rocky didn’t budge. “That a formal accusation, officer?”

Castle braced his hands against the sides of the car. “Not if you tell me what this thing is.”

“Show me again.”

Rocky waited for Castle to lean back in, then reached through the driver’s side window and slapped down on the car horn. It blared out loud enough that Castle jumped, and hit his head on the hood. 

“Satisfied?”

“GODDAMN MOTHERFUCKING COCKSUCKING SON OF A B-!”

Castle was hopping around the room, his hands over his ears, cursing at the top of his lungs. “YOU’RE A FUCKING DEAD MAN WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU, YOU MOTHERFUCKING HICK PIECE OF SHIT!”

Rocky didn’t even flinch. He just stood and watched the officer kick over an empty can, his arms folded over his chest, trying to fight off a shit-eating grin. “You asked what it did.”

For Ruy Narvaez, the novelty of sliding down a pole in his underpants to go use the bathroom when he was doing overnights at the firehouse hadn’t quite worn off yet. He’d been there for over a year now, but he still always got a kick out of it.

He’d went to go take a piss, then he’d made himself a sandwich in the kitchenette. From there, he could see a small group gathered around the pool table while Rafe and Eric viciously rallied the ball back and forth.

Ruy wrapped up his sandwich, came closer, and vaulted over the back of the couch. He landed next to Lieutenant Brennan and settled in. “How long have they been playing for, boss?”

Thwack.

“Rally’s been going for seven minutes straight.” Brennan grabbed for half of the sandwich, but Ruy twisted away. “I bet AJ it’d go the full ten.”

Ruy snorted, his mouth full of sandwich. “Nuwer.”

“What?”

Ruy swallowed. “No way. Somebody’s arm’s gonna get tired.”

“You looking to get in on the action, probie?”

“Okay. Five bucks on nine minutes.”

Thump.

Thwack.

Thump.

“Five bucks? C’mon now. Go big or go home.”

“Five’s big enough.”

Thwack.

Thump.

“What about you, Secord? You got some thoughts?”

Thwack.

Thump.

Josh was sitting upside down in an armchair. Legs dangling over the back and his hands on his stomach. He shook his head. “I’m set.”

Thwack.

Thump.

“What about you, cap?”

Theo was leaning against a column, thumbing through a magazine. “Fuck it. Twenty bucks on eight minu-”

Ross glanced down at his phone. “We’re at eight.”

“...I mean, twenty bucks on nine and a half minutes.”

“I heard eight.”

“You heard wrong, lieutenant. Nine and a half.”

Suddenly, with a flourish, Rafe smashed the ball with his paddle and sent it driving into the corner of the table. Eric’s paddle skimmed just over it, and the ball bounced harmlessly against the floor. Eric threw it down in disgust, and Rafe raised his hands in the air. “I AM THE FUCKING PING-PONG GOD!”

Ross groaned. “Come on! I believed in you guys.”

“Fuck you,” Eric laughed. “Lucky shot.”

“The ping-pong God makes his own luck.”

“The ping-pong God’s about to get a fucking paddle upside the head.”

Rafe whirled around to face his assembled coworkers. “Who said ten minutes?” His hands were on his hips. “Show of hands, who thought it’d even take me ten minutes to put this sorry motherfucker away?”

Eric protested, “Hey, you gonna keep talking or we gonna finish our set?”

“Who won? Because by my count, they just won like fifty bucks.” Rafe rubbed his hands together gleefully. “Way I’m feeling, I might get that bill laminated, so they can frame it and pray to it when they think they can’t beat the odds.”

Eric slapped his hands down on the table, “Are we finishing the game?”

“I’m hard as fuck right now,” Rafe laughed. “I can’t even focus. I’m feeling myself too much right now. I’m gonna go grab a slice of cake and celebrate.” He stepped up onto the couch, reached down, and snatched away the half of Ruy’s sandwich that he’d already taken a bite out of.

“Hey!”
