Her eyes still haunted your dreams at night, she might still have her upper eyelids but the crazed look in her eyes made it look like she would never blink. Vicky’s wide smile looked like it never let the stitches in her cheek heal and you can’t remember if it was bleeding the last time you saw her or if it was just your dreams bleeding into your memory. Even thinking about seeing her again caused the wound in your stomach to throb which only reminded you of how effortlessly she stabbed you, like it was muscle memory for her at this point. Your hands remember how strangely soft hers were while she held the knife there to look at the reaction on your face. Has anyone looked so happy to see your face before?

You swallow down disgusting bile at the thought, trying to avoid the questioning looks your maids are giving you. Your hand holding the gun began to shake at the thought of them seeing you like this. You’re supposed to be perfect so what the fuck was this? It would be so easy to leave no witnesses of your fear, no one deserves to see you like this.

Something crashing from inside the room ripped you from your thoughts. Right, you have a serial killer in your guest room. You’re suddenly wishing you begged your father for a tiger instead of a pony for your 18th birthday, maybe then you would have a cage you could throw her in.

The door opens before you can do it yourself, barely stopping in time in front of your face. Good, because if you were to get another bruise before your next pageant you really would go trigger happy on the poor fucker that gave it to you. One of the newer workers stands before you with a fearful look on her face, pitiful considering she was hired for security.

Vice-chancellors have rejected calls to shut down the pro-Palestine encampments at Australian universities, saying campuses don’t want to see an “escalation” of the kind that is happening in the US.

A snap meeting was held on Thursday between the Group of Eight (Go8) vice-chancellors, the Australasian Union of Jewish Students, the Executive Council of Australian Jewry (ECAJ) and the secretary of the education department to discuss the safety of students and staff amid the protests.

Vicki Thomson, the Go8 chief executive, said it was a “very constructive” meeting that allowed universities to hear the concerns of representative bodies.

Mark Scott, the vice-chancellor of the University of Sydney, attended Thursday’s meeting. A protest on the lawns of his university is now into its 11th day, the longest of any Australian camps.

Scott took to LinkedIn on Thursday to reject calls from shadow education minister Sarah Henderson for police intervention, maintaining the exercise of free speech could be “challenging and confronting”.

“I am not convinced what is happening on US campuses demonstrates a pathway to greater safety and security for any students or staff, nor helps to build a community committed to free speech and thoughtful exchanges of divergent views,” Scott wrote.

“Protests and vigorous debates have always been part of our culture of academic freedom … even when, as individuals, we may strongly disagree with things we hear said.”

On Friday, the University of Sydney camp was met with a counter-protest by the group Together with Israel, but the situation remained relatively peaceful. There was no apparent police presence.

Monash University’s vice-chancellor, Prof Sharon Pickering, was also in attendance at Thursday’s meeting, as was the University of Adelaide’s provost, Prof John Williams. Both universities have backed the lawful expression of peaceful protest on their campuses.

The University of Melbourne’s vice-chancellor, Duncan Maskell, wrote to his university’s community last week reiterating respect for peaceful protest was “core” to the university’s values.

The Jewish Council of Australia has condemned the wave of counter-protests, labelling one at the University of Melbourne on Thursday a “motley group of rightwing zionists”.

SPOILERS for The Boys Season 4

I'm still processing the final episode but here are some of my random thoughts, in no particular order. It was a wild ride and I enjoyed it for the most part. The season had its lows for sure and I'll never forgive the writers for how they treated Hughie. I'm still fucking mad about everything they did to him after episode 5. I also felt like they wasted a lot of potential with Annie's arc. She's been through a lot after season 3 and I loved the idea of her having an identity crisis but it was just so poorly executed. It all felt messy and as if the writers had no conclusion in mind for both her and Hughie's plotlines. Unfortunately I couldn't find myself caring a lot about Frenchie's and Kimiko's subplots which is sad because I love these two. I was hoping they get to kill that bitch Little Nina and Kimiko getting her revenge on the SLLA. Both could have happened this season before they got separated in the end. Instead we've been put on hold to wait if these plots get resolved at all. Firecracker and Sage were great additions, I loved to hate Firecracker and Sage gives off endboss vibes for me. I still feel like she's gonna betray Homelander in the end. Can't wait for "phase two". A-Train's arc was great, he truly redeemed himself and him showing up at the flat iron to save the others was proof enough for me how serious he was about doing the right thing. I liked all of his scenes with MM, too. I loved Ashley this season, I hope she gains some badass powers and kicks everyone's ass. I've seen some complaints about Homelander being nerfed - are we watching the same show? He is fucking unhinged and more terrifying than ever. He is basically god by the end of the season and can (and will) do whatever the fuck he wants with no one in his way. Someone telling me that's not scary?! He is and always will be one of the best villains in tv history. Poor kid Ryan, he deserved better. How is he ever supposed to feel safe around Homelander and Butcher phrasing it that way was downright evil and manipulative towards the boy because he knew it would make Ryan feel insecure and cornered. Him pushing and killing Grace was in self-defense. His reaction afterwards however is concerning and I guess ambiguous for interpretation on purpose. I still don't get how some people in the fandom could hate on a 12 year old child so much, leave the kid alone.

Where do I start when it comes to Butcher? I have many thoughts and this text is already long but I'll give it a shot anyway. Obviously I'm biased because I love this man and will defend him to the very end. I think his arc was one of the better aspects, he is still one of the best written characters on the show. What I always loved about him was him being truly morally grey and the ambiguity in his words and actions. He cannot be trusted. I don't know if it's me but Karl's performance makes him actually a lot more likeable than he deserves. He is a bad person and I don't think this is negotiable. I have thought about this so many times in made-up scenarios and I stick with my opinion that there's no fixing him and there never was. I have tried to stay away from fandom discourse as much as I could for my own well-being but I don't get how people act surprised and as a result hate over his behavior and decisions. I think most were true to his character and also him killing Neuman made perfect sense and was a well-deserved payoff narratively. Not that I'm not mad at him for doing so! I loved Vicky and she was such an interesting character. But his final words in season 3 were "that bitch has to go" and one of his main goals across the whole season was to get that virus to kill her. He was absolutely clear about it and worked towards this goal on his own terms, not even under the influence of Kessler. Certainly Kessler pushed him to commit some of his atrocities but it matched with what he wanted himself. He drew the line when it came to supe genocide and was conflicted about it initially but one of his core themes is doing whatever it takes and losing his humanity on his chosen path. Since he is highly intelligent he knows very well what's wrong with him what emphasises even more that he actively chooses to do bad things rather than being impulsive and regretful afterwards. I personally loved his turn at the end and I am eager to see his villain arc. What's not to love about evil daddy?! I could go on about some of the dynamics between him and Kessler but I'll do that in another post maybe.

Comrades from Minnesota have pointed out that Walz, who was a national guardsman himself, was the one who sent in the National Guard to put down the George Floyd Uprising in Minneapolis, and that Walz, despite getting to the governor's mansion on a campaign focused on climate and ecological justice, crushed an indigenous led water-protector movement to push forward the Line 3 Fracking Pipeline. The aforementioned enthusiastic supporters are responding with some variation of "yeah, we know, but stop killing our vibe".

These two groups are talking past one another. The memers are responding to a structure of feeling, an experience of hope and joy, an affect, one that I sometimes share. On multiple occasions I have been moved by seeing the nominees actually stand up to these creeps and call them what they are, by witty and dismissive press releases or in front of cheering crowds. It's a powerful image, it feels good, at least in the moments where the crowd isn't chanting "USA! USA! USA!" And many of the memes have been really fucking funny.

While it is a relief that the Democrats finally brought a knife to the knife fight (instead of their traditional book of etiquette), they could and should have already done this a dozen times before.

Jane Everlasting

Warnings: descriptions of hallucinations, rotting, maggots and suicide.

She lived in a poor neighborhood ridden with drug crime and gang violence, she was rarely allowed outside of the house, she only left on a few occasions to keep the rest of the family from being suspicious. This was because she was seen as an anomaly as her organs were either swapped sides or even missing altogether.

Jane was born at home because Edgar and Elizabeth didn't trust doctors, this caused complications and resulted in Elizabeth's death.

She had surgical procedures done on her at a young age to try and correct it, completely drugged up with painkillers to try and ease the pain.

This is what caused her DID, Jane is the host and she has 6 other alters, Judy, a protector and trauma holder, Meghan, a prosecutor, Jasper, an emotional protector, Edgar, an introject, Berry, a little, Jade, a gatekeeper.

Jane only found out she had DID because Judy informed her at 20, while she was in a psychiatric ward, her and the psychiatrist started talking about it when Jane brought the subject up.

Being trapped in her own house, she didn't have much to do and started journaling her thoughts, a few pages have completely different handwriting and she always wondered why.

As Jane grew she felt more safe in the house, like she was untouchable, especially after the murders, Jane dreaded leaving after seeing how badly Jeff was hurt, she only left again when Jeff invited her to a dinner party.

When she was younger however she hated being stuck inside with very little to do, while also watching others her age go out, she'd often sneak out with Vicky, Hannah or either Jeff.

Jane was very interested in being a scientist, she would often ask Edgar about his work.

Jane was heavily influenced by Vicky, right down to the style of her outfits.

After seeing what happened with Jeff, she felt terrified, she never considered something so bad like that could happen to someone, it got so bad she was transferred to a psychiatric ward for her safety.

She has a lot of conflicting feelings from saving Jeff, she doesn't regret saving him, but there's a lot of what ifs, she wonders if her and her friends lives would've been better if she didn't help him.

Janes hair gets dyed a lot, Judy dyes it black, but Meghan prefers it purple, this caused arguments until Jane suggested they do a mix, everyone agreed on it except Edgar; who hates unnatural hair in general, when fronting he washes it out.

She tried smoking, she was given one from Liu and absolutely hated it, gagging instantly and never tried again.

She is a very untrusting person from all the years being inside the house, and is unnecessarily sceptical of a lot not knowing if it's dangerous or not.

Jane bought and customised the mask slightly to make it look more her style.

Jane rarely takes off the mask, she finds it to difficult and doesn't want to remember what she looks like underneath, the only ones who take it off are Berry and Jasper.

She is terrified of fire, even if it's a small manageable one.

Jane is a really good cook but does not like cooking on a stove anymore due to the heat.

Jane currently lives with Vicky and Hannah.

Jane had gotten insomnia sometime after the incident, she always has eye bags and was more angry, she uses sleeping pills whenever she can.

After going nearly bald she started looking after her hair a lot better, she steals a lot of hair products to maintain it.

She used to wear the wig Jeff gifted, but threw it away as soon as her hair started growing back.

She uses a lot of makeup every day to try and make herself feel better, though it causes a lot of acne.

She tends to have all sorts of healing ointments and lotions on her at all times due to dry skin.

Jane is assumed dead, she has a grave and everything because someone impersonated her, and Fake Jane was killed by Lyra. She now tries to steer clear of any attention from the media.

She loves watermelon flavoured lollies.

Jane has permanent scarring from the fire, she tries to wear long clothing and gloves whenever she can, in summer she wears thin long clothes.

She visits her parents every weekend, when she does she always tries to bring flowers.

She tries making it quick because she doesn't like the thoughts that come with it.

She hates thinking if her parents saw her now they'd be disappointed and ashamed of her.

Jane's psychosis comes on as a result of anxiety. Her hallucinations are audio and visual, sometimes the delusions are usually rooted in paranoia. She can usually predict when she's about to be going into a psychosis episode based on what is causing the panic response. Jane tries to brace herself and remember what it was like last time and prepare, but once the full brunt of delusion and hallucinations start she's always unprepared for how bad it gets even if its the same thing as the last few times.

When it's mild, and stays mild, its more annoying. She's constantly hearing Vicky's and Hannah's cat wanting to be let into their room, even if she's not actually in the room, or the far away hum of a deep voiced male. She catch's birds out of the corner of her eye in places there are no birds. She'll become fixated and, even if they were not in their house at all, Jane will get up and go looking for their cat. She's absolutely convinced he followed her all the way to someplace else and she has to take a 15 minute break to do a lap around the area, trying to find him.

When it's bad, she's usually under the impression that someone, somewhere, knows about her and the others and whereabouts and is going to SWAT them, doxx them, or get the police to show up and arrest them all, rotting in prison for life. Not much helps her stray from this delusion, as much as everyones tried. She will usually just hide in the bathroom and cry for hours on end because they already called. Their going to jail.

If Jane looks into the dark too long, under the bed, in the closet, barely lit room in the middle of the night, etc, she'll see corpses of animals. Sometimes animals she's seen in the past, sometimes wild animals like possums, or even Liu's dog, always dark and unidentifiable masses that look like there either squirming in pain or writhing because maggots are under their skin.

Jane hears Jeff yelling that he's going to kill himself in the other room. Sometimes he'll blames her, sometimes he wishes he could just kill me instead, and goes on about how she abandoned him and left him and her friends to die when she moved away away. She'll respond but he doesnt say anything in response, just the same threats and the same disparaging remarks.

Sometimes she'll even hear Vicky violently throwing around pots and pans. Sometimes the noise of the cat being murdered and Vicky screaming at her mesh together and become one loud, disoriented, voice.

Jane loves all kinds of food with few exceptions such as tofu, hated it since a kid.

She had a limited amount of food given as a kid, now she eats a lot more to compensate.

Jane loves fantasy creatures like mermaids, fairies, elves, angels and orgres, very disappointed when she found out they weren't real.

Jane loves animals but her favorites are undoubtedly sharks, she really loves them and seeing them makes her happy, she hated finding out some are in captivity. Jeff gave her a shark plush when they were still friends which she adored and always slept with it, she even still has it to this day, though after having it for so long it's become tattered and dirty.

she developed a huge appetite for meat since she was a pre-teen, this appetite grew stronger to the point of fantasising about hurting others or even animals for their meat.

However she never actually acted on it and never ate anyone, when she had these urges she'd sneak in  meat from the kitchen, she had gotten salmonella from eating raw meat, not knowing about the disease.

She has three stepsisters, Dani, Marcy and Erica, Jane barely knows them because she was in a psych ward by the time her dad remarried, and doesn't see them as family.

Jane became homeless after leaving the hospital and had no clue what to do or where to go, she'd stay in cafes or bars as long as she could to watch the news to try and get a grasp on what's happening after talking to people didn't work.

Her original plan was to Jeff and than have a normal life again, she could never find him, but did find Hannah and Vicky when they were on the run.

Her favourite movie is Inside Out, she finds it relatable and similar to DID. Jane was introduced by Vailly.

Her friends are Vicky, Hannah, Nina, Jesse and Zero.

Jane and Mary don't know about Jesse and Janes relationship because they intimidate her.

After being taken in by Liu, she starts killing people after hearing about what happened to the others.

Jane solely targets people that have committed crimes, whether it be theft or murder, she’ll stalk that person for a few days to weeks and kill them.

She does this in secret because she knows Vicky and Hannah won’t understand the vision.

She was gifted a Polaroid camera on her 10th birthday and she loved and got interested in photography, she'd take a lot of pictures of her friends and the scenery out her window.

Jane would pin them in her journal and on her pin board.

She took Nina under her wing and tried helping her, they became close and she even considers Nina like a sister. After Jane was one of the few to recognise her as a victim and was a lot nicer than the rest.

She sometimes finds she can be to much, but is afraid to tell her without upsetting Nina, so Jane just tolerates it.

She encouraged Nina to to try and make amends with Sully, though felt horrible when it didn’t work.

Jane learned how to play the piano, she wanted to play to try and feel closer to Elizabeth.

He doesn't really understand the point in giving you flowers that will only wilt and die, therefore he gives you a whole ass house plant. That way you two can care for it together as plant parents. Aside from the house plant you have a fun little date where you assist him with experiments- and by assist I mean you stand far away while he wreaks havoc and support him lovingly at a distance.

Suicide Sadie

She absolutely adores you and hopes to make the day as lovely as possible. Taking you to a beautiful little lake in the woods, where you can spend your day chatting, swimming and hanging out under the big blue sky. She gives you a pretty rock she found at the bottom of the lake.

"Here, darling. This reminded me of you." "Thank you so much! I love it!"

Roadwalker

Her idea of a nice romantic date is taking you on a long hike through the woods, just talking and admiring nature. Taking in all the scenery she surprises you with a puppy. What could be a better gift than a sweet little bundle of joy?

"Is that- is that a puppy?!?" "Sure is, Y/N! I was hoping we could raise it together."

Scarecrow Girl

She's super nervous about Valentine's Day, hesitantly giving you a bouquet of half dead flowers and... Grass? Well, she's doing her best. It's heart warming how shy she is about asking you if you'd watch a movie with her. How can you say no?

"Well.... What about that new romance movie...?" "That sounds great."

Vicky Genocidal

Brings you a box of assorted chocolates and a heart shaped pin. She takes you on an exciting date at a festival that set up in the nearby town, wearing disguises you two ride all the rides, play a bunch of games where she wins you a ton of prizes, buy a bunch of snacks and end off the day with a ride on the creaky little ferris wheel. It's not overly romantic but it's still nice when she kisses you.

"Did ya like it?" "No.... I loved it."

Hannah The Killer

Joyfully drags you along with her, little to no explanation, to a theme park. Not that you're complaining. She tries to win you prizes but sadly sucks at the rigged games, getting pretty pissed off- however you're luckily able to calm her down with some popcorn. You spend the rest of the date having snacks and riding rollercoasters.

"We should do this again sometime, Y/N." "Yeah but next time let's avoid the prize booths."

Candy Pop

Ah Yes- a date with an over excited demonic jester man. He doesn't go for chocolates instead offering you a box of assorted lollipops, and puts on his own private little comedy show for you in your room. It's quite endearing and ends in cuddles.

"I love making you laugh." "Thanks, Candy."

April Fools

She treats the day as more of the perfect opportunity to go on a pranking spree! So your date with her is just you guys going around and screwing up everybody else's Valentine's Day. It's fun to get into some mischief though! That is till Jeff figures out you're the ones who put hot sauce in his protein bar-

"Best date ever!!!!" "Yeah! We should keep running though Jeff is catching up!"

Zero

Decides the best date idea is to have a lazy day, it's just you two laid in bed doing absolutely nothing the whole day. There is nothing she'd rather do than just be with you.

Jeff the killer headcanons please

Jeff is one of those characters that I can spend hours unpacking the psychology of, the inner workings of this man’s mind has an iron grip on me. I have so much on this one man, I try my best to make my version of Jeff more morally grey to fit in with how I headcanon most of the other Pastas. What I attempted to do is that you can sympathize, understand and hurt with him but still recognize his faults

The version of Jeff I base off of is the 2011 Jeff Woods one in conjunction with Jane Everlasting, Homicidal Liu, Vicky Genocidal, Hannah the Killer and the old version of Nina

He and Liu are from New Orleans, they actually really enjoyed it there and had a lot of good memories. Jeff sometimes still yearns to have that back again since it was simpler times in childhood bliss

When he was younger, he tried piercing his and Liu’s ears to copy his mom’s earrings. Jeff tried to do it with a needle and he managed to hold in his pain, Liu couldn’t stomach to do it so Jeff tried to do it for him. Let’s just say Liu only has one ear pierced

Margret Woods, Jeff’s mom, was quite a strict mother. She doesn’t really comfort her kids and instead criticizes them for bad behavior since she was more focused on looking like a presentable family. To her that’s what constitutes a good family: if it looks good on the surface, it must be good beneath it

Peter Woods, Jeff’s dad, was more lax when it came to rules and behavior. He was more affable and Jeff has good memories of him. Although admittedly, Peter does sometimes let Margret handle most of the “real” parenting when it comes to discipline. Peter would also sometimes just echo what Margret would say in order to stay in her good graces and not cause an argument or just because he’s kinda gullible enough to believe that she’s always right

Because of their parents being the way they are, Liu always felt more like a parental-like figure to Jeff and he always wanted to reciprocate it in some way but felt like he was never able to because he’s the younger brother. It’s why he can be very protective of him, he really considered Liu his best friend

The Woods family moved to a small town north of New Orleans in 2008, Jeff felt quite separated from his childhood after that

He was a band kid in elementary and middle school, he played trombone and was quite good at it surprisingly

He has a fear of heights that was caused when he was stuck on top of a Ferris wheel that shut down when he was a kid

He’s a frequent sleepwalker and usually ends up in different parts of the mansion or outside. Paring with this, Jeff is able to fall asleep anywhere which is why it’s likely that he’s always carrying his sleeping mask

When Jeff started to get targeted by Randy, Keith and Troy, it was partly to get back on Liu’s behalf since they did approach Liu first. It was also his way of being on the defense since he and Liu were new to town

Jeff can be quite the emotional, impulse and self-destructive person so when he caught a few whiffs of violence, you could tell that it wasn’t going to go anywhere good especially as a young teen. Because of this, Jeff is quite a sensitive person. He was often driven by anger, guilt, shame, compassion and adrenaline

Somewhat surprising but Jeff cares deeply about those close to him, he can even go overboard to do things for them. Needless to say, betrayal is something you should never to do him

In his twisted logic at the time, he thought that he was helping Liu, Jane, Hannah, Vicky and Nina. So it genuinely does hurt him deep down that he actually royally fucked up their lives but he can’t repair it or make amends to huge mistakes he made when he was younger

He also sees violence as a way to break free from that “perfect image” his mom wanted to maintain. He has a very twisted sense of both pride and shame about himself, one moment he thinks he’s amazing but deep down he sometimes hates himself

Jeff doesn’t like being seen as weak since it would’ve been something that his mom would’ve criticized

When Liu told him that he forgave him, he honestly almost couldn’t contain his emotional breakdown about receiving forgiveness especially from his own brother that he was so close with in comparison to the other people he has ruined

He usually acts kinda like an asshole who has an ego the size of a mountain, he makes a lot of sarcastic and witty remarks, very snarky and confident attitude and overall just the type of guy that you wouldn’t expect to have self loathing issues. He also often puts up the “tough guy” act

He is surprisingly good with kids, it’s part of the reason why he likes hanging with Sally and BEN

His eyelids aren’t burned off, it’s only the tips that are charred but his full eyelids are still there

He hates cutting his hair short as a kid and he still does, one time his mom literally forced him into a hair salon for a haircut and he cried for like an hour after

He wears red converse that has those silly scribbles and names on them. The mansion residents did it as a prank once and Jeff was annoyed at the time but now couldn’t care less

Jeff moved into the mansion when he was 16, he was fleeing into one of Slenderman’s pieces of territory and encountered him. Slenderman at first thought that he was an unruly intruder or another prey to eat, Jeff wasn’t easy to get rid of though and the two fought for a while. When they met at an impasse, Slenderman decided that he would be a good fit for a Proxy Associate

I’m not sure how he met Smile Dog yet but I imagine that he possibly met him as a stray of some kind. Jeff got him his own doggy bed in his room and doesn’t mind it when Smile tries to sleep in his bed as long as he doesn’t take the majority of it

Kinda embarrassing to admit but I don’t really know who to ship him with if I need to ship him with anyone at all. I low-key shipped him with Kate the Chaser but it’s a very unpopular ship and I’m not sure if I’m still into it or it would even work

I’m sorry if this isn’t ordered in a good way! I tried to balance out the in-depth character analysis, the angst and fun headcanons since it can be pretty loaded

I probably forgot a lot of stuff like interactions with other Pastas and such but this is a good bulk of what my version of him is like!
