“No,” you said to yourself as your car began to slow. “No, no, no!”
You hit your steering wheel in frustration as the car came to a stop in the middle of the road.
This wasn’t the first time you had encountered issues with your shitty excuse for a car. It was definitely because the car was older than your parents. It was a miracle it even started in the first place, which, to be fair, it didn’t most of the time. You had no idea what your parents were thinking in buying you this hunk of junk to be your first car. They didn’t have to buy you a brand new sports car or anything, but they could’ve gotten you something from this decade at least.
You got out o the car to inspect what had happened. You opened the hood of the car and inspected inside. You couldn’t tell if anything was off because it all just looked the same to you. There was probably something, but you weren't exactly knowledgeable on cars.
You exclaimed in frustration and kicked the wheel, followed by a string of expletives as pain exploded from your toes.
“Car troubles?”
You turned to see a boy around your age stood at the end of a driveway.
“It just stopped,” you said. “I have no idea what’s wrong with it.”
You sighed, running a hand over your face as you realized how screwed you were. You were a few blocks away from home, so walking wasn’t necessarily off the table, but it would take you a while to get home. Not to mention you had no idea how you’d get the car back to your place, or off the road at all.
“Here, bring it into my driveway,” the boy said. “I’ll take a look at it.”
“How are we gonna get it into your driveway? It’s like...dead dead.”
He approached the car, taking a quick glance at the still open hood before reaching to close it. “Put it in neutral. I’ll push, you can steer.”
You weren’t sure if that sounded like a good idea - one person pushing a car on their own didn’t seem super doable - but you had no other choices. So, you got back into your car, waiting for him to get in place, then shifted the car into neutral. You started turning the wheel, shifting the car towards the driveway. It took a while, but eventually the two of you had managed to get the car into his driveway. You put it back in park as he came around to pop the hood again.
“I’m Beck, by the way,” he said as you got out of your car.
“(Y/N),” you responded. “Thanks for the help. I thought I was screwed.”
“Why are you driving a junker like this? It must be like, a century old.”
“My parents got it for me when I got my license. Something about wanting to get an older car as my first one until I learn responsibility, I guess?”
“So they gave you a rolling death trap?”
You scoffed. “Yeah, basically. I bet they’ll regret that now.”
Beck leaned in to get a better look at something. “When did they buy it?”
You shrugged. “A few weeks ago, I think.”
“Well, they’ll definitely regret however much money they wasted on this thing. It’s completely dead.”
Your eyes widened. “What?!”
Beck stood back up. “There’s not a single thing that works in this thing now. Engine is toast, battery zapped, starting motor gone. It’s a wonder this thing ever worked in the first place.”
You let out a long groan. As if your luck couldn’t get any worse. What were you supposed to do now without a car? You couldn’t go back to relying on your parents to drive you everywhere, and you certainly were not about to start taking the bus to school again.
“Do you have a phone?” Beck asked.
“It’s dead,” you said. “I was on my way home anyways, I thought I’d be fine.”
“Listen, mine is in my RV. You can use it to call your parents if you want.”
You eyed the silver RV in the yard. “You live in there? When there’s...a house?”
He chuckled. “I prefer to be on my own. The RV was the only compromise my parents would come to. If you’d rather not come in, I understand. I can bring my phone out instead if it would make you more comfortable.”
You shook your head. “No, that’s okay. It’s starting to get dark, so it’s probably best if I wait inside instead of out here while it gets cold.”
Beck nodded for you to follow him into his trailer. It was a decent size, big enough for one person living there. It was also evident that a teenage boy lived there given the mess. Beck must’ve noticed, too, because he quickly started picking up dirty clothes and laundry from the floor, mumbling something about ignoring the mess. You quietly giggled to yourself.
Beck passed you his phone. You sat down on his couch and dialed your mom’s number first. It rang for a long time before an automated message told you she was away from the phone. You hung up and tried your dad’s number, only to have the same outcome. You rolled your eyes and hung up, handing the phone back to Beck.
“They must be busy,” you said. “God, this sucks. What am I going to do?”
Beck sat down next to you. He was close enough to you that you could feel his shoulder brushing against yours. You were suddenly very aware of your situation: alone in a trailer with a boy who was incredibly cute. A broke down car, no way to get home until your parents answered your calls. You shuffled awkwardly in your seat, looking down at your lap when looking into Beck’s eyes became too much.
“I could drive you home,” he offered. “Then, when your parents are home, you can tell them what happened and where the car is. Then they can decide if they want to come get it, or they can leave it here and I can salvage whatever parts I can from it.”
You raised an eyebrow at him. “You think there’s anything salvageable from that car?”
“Well...the tires.”
You both laughed. You knew you should be getting home, but part of you also didn’t want to leave yet. Sure, you would still see Beck again whenever your parents decided to come get the car - if they decided to come get the car - but after that you may never see him again. He wasn’t familiar to you, and you were sure you’d remember someone like Beck at your school, so that meant he went to a different school. The likeliness of you two ever crossing paths again were incredibly slim.
But you also couldn’t just invite yourself into his place to stay for a while. You were still a stranger to him, and him to you technically. And you probably should get home so you could charge your phone, just so your parents didn’t start freaking out if they tried to call you and couldn’t get through.
So, you took Beck’s offer and followed him to his car. It was definitely a lot nicer than your old piece of junk. You were almost embarrassed that he had to see what you were driving before. The one silver lining to this whole situation was that your parents might actually buy you a good car after all of this.
You knew it was going to be a short ride to your house, so you had to make the most of it. You looked over at Beck and asked, “So, what school do you go to?”
“Hollywood Arts,” he responded.
“Oh! So that’s why I haven’t seen you around. You’re too busy becoming a big star.”
He chuckled. “Yeah, I guess so. Trying to, at least. I’m not a singer like most of the people who attend that school. I’m trying to become an actor after I graduate.”
“Hey, the world needs actors. That doesn’t sound like an impossible dream to achieve.”
He shrugged. You felt like the conversation was drifting away, and you desperately wanted it to keep going.
“I do appreciate what you did for me,” you said. “Most people in LA probably would’ve driven right past me and wished me luck.”
“I couldn’t let you just stay there stranded right in front of my place,” he said. “What kind of a guy would I be if I didn’t offer the pretty girl some help?”
Your face immediately burned at his compliment. You quickly looked away so he wouldn’t see how flustered you were.
“Still, I appreciate it,” you said. “And the ride home. I probably could’ve walked, come to think of it.”
“No way. I wasn’t going to let you walk when I have a perfectly good car that could’ve driven you home.”
“Don’t rub it in.”
He chuckled. You noticed the car slowing to a stop, and when you looked up you saw that you were in front of your house. You almost deflated with disappointment. Your time with Beck was finally, and unfortunately, coming to an end. There was no way you’d be able to see him again, you were sure of that. It was already pretty clear the both of you wouldn’t be running into each other at schooling events, unless you managed to make it out to a performance at Hollywood Arts that Beck just so happened to be starring in.
“This is me,” you said, trying to keep the sadness from your voice.
“So it is,” Beck said with a nod.
You looked down at your lap, trying to stall as much as possible. “Thank you for everything. I don’t know how I can repay you for all of this.”
“You don’t have to.”
“What if I wanted to? I mean, surely there’s something else I could do or give you as a way of saying thanks. Something more than that lump of junk that’s still sat in your driveway.”
He made a face. “No, that’s a terrible thank you gift actually.”
“Yeah, that’s why I’m saying I want to give you an actual thank you gift.”
He thought for a moment and you waited patiently for his answer. Finally, he looked back at you and said, “There is something you could give me.”
“What is it?”
“Your number.”
He was holding his phone out to you. You looked from his phone up to his face. You were almost sure this wasn’t real, that you were hallucinating that this was happening. But the longer it took for you to take Beck’s phone and put your number in it, the more his face was starting to show worry. As if you were about to turn him down.
“Yes!” you finally blurted. “I mean...yeah. Yeah, I can...I can do that.”
He seemed amused by your flusteredness. You quickly took his phone and typed in your name and number before handing it back to him.
“You better get your phone charged,” he said. “Otherwise, how am I supposed to try and plan a date with you?”
Oh, he smooth.
You wanted to say something back that was equally as smooth, but you were at a loss for words. Instead, you just nodded your head for a long time, like a crazy person, before finally saying goodbye for real and getting out of his car. You could feel him watching you as you walked up to your front door and let yourself in. He didn’t leave until the door closed behind you, and even then he waited for you to lock it and turn on the light over the door.
Once you were alone, you leaned back against the door and you couldn’t stop the wide smile that broke out across your face.
Okay, at least there were two silver linings to that stupid thing breaking down.

Imagine Beck and Jade supporting you when you perform
"You could at least clap for the other performers," Beck whispers into Jade's ear as his girlfriend lays her head on his shoulder while leaning against him. The two watch the person onstage finish their number with a flourish and a big smile. The crowd around them burst into applause as some yelled out their support for the performer and cheered loudly while the latter took their bow. Though Beck did not know them, he still clapped politely; Jade made no such move. Instead, she crossed her arm and stared blankly at the stage.
"Why?" Jade lifts her head and turns to Beck, the frown on her face obvious. "I don't care about their performance and I don't want people to think that I do."
"Because it's the polite thing to do." He gestured to the people around them. "They're performing in front of a crowd. It's a big deal."
"They're at a performing arts school. They're in the wrong place if they're afraid of being in front of a crowd." Jade shrugs, eyes darting to the stage when she hears the host announce you as the next performer. She sits up, eyes immediately finding you coming out of the wings of the stage and a small smile appears on her face. "I'm here for [Name]."

Dating Beck Oliver
warnings ✩° : fluff, me cursing, but that’s it.
pairing ✩° : beck oliver x gn!reader
authors note ✩° : i used to be such a beck fan when i was younger UGH.
Tumblr media
- Ok, as much as I love Beck and his long, shaggy hair, he would have his moments of being a bad boyfriend. Not that he doesn't care about you—he does—it’s just that he lets other people flirt with him, mostly girls but on occasion some guys. He just likes the attention but that’s something he can’t really control, he’s cocky and flaunts his appearance just like anyone confident would, it just pisses you off ((rightfully so)).
- Besides that, Beck is a pretty good boyfriend for the most part. He knows what to say for the most part and loves giving you gifts and showing lots of PDA. Beck doesn't really understand certain social cues when it comes to affection or you so he’ll randomly pull you into kisses by your waist or whisper something in your ear for the sole purpose of messing with you.
- He smells like expensive, dark, perfume with lots of musk notes and always drinks espressos. Somehow he’s still always tired.
- Speaking of his bad sleeping habits, Beck falls asleep on you regularly in class by leaning on your shoulder and promising he’ll only be asleep for 10 minutes. In reality he sleeps for the entire period and sometimes after, making you both late for your next class.
- Loves holding you with his arm thrown over your shoulder especially when you're both talking to friends, it’s his way of looking cool and nonchalant.
- You love calling him out for having this sort of attitude. Especially when he’s the type to call people posers jokingly because they don’t know the name of a song by some obscure band in the 80′s. But when he tries pulling that shit with you? Gone. You do not let that slide and call him out for wearing a fake vegan leather belt.
- Beck gets really defensive when he’s wrong, but you always fight for your place and do it with such ease it’s CRAZY. After a bit of ignoring each other, Beck will go back to normal and so will you.
- This guy will write poems about you, since he doesn’t really sing much, and he keeps his poems messily stuffed in his backpack or in his locker. He never shows you them because they're more of a personal hobby he has, but he takes pride in his work and often boasts about them to you. When you confront him about how you've never actually read his work, he pats you on your head and changes the subject, not ready to discuss the complexity of his writing with you in a hallway that has band kids crawling about.
- Dates are spent usually on a low budget, but it’s ok because you both really enjoy the little things and less extravagant moments with each other. This means him playing on his acoustic guitar and you humming along under the night in his trailer, taking you out to cheap restaurants to try the food, and going to concerts.
- He does cute boyfriend things like holds doors open for you so you can walk in first, feeds you on occasion at lunch, and walks you to your classes before his own, stuff like that. Just. Cute things. Beck is cute. Beck is so cute.
- Will occasionally hit the top of your head with the spine of his current novel to get your attention.

Like You (André Harris | Victorious)
Summary — You broke up with André a long time ago, but he can’t seem to let go.

“There’s no one else like you.”
Your expression softened at André’s words. It was nearly midnight and he had somehow found his way to your doorstep. His eyes were puffy and filled with sadness. It wasn’t difficult to tell that he had been crying.
“André,” you sighed.
“Please,” he muttered. “I miss you. I just...”
His words trailed off quietly. You could tell he wasn’t the same. His friends had occasionally been letting you know about his downward shift in personality. He wasn’t as cheerful as he had been before your breakup.
You glanced over him. The hood of his pullover was up and he had on some plaid pajama pants that you had given him last winter. His hands were shoved deep into his pockets, probably frigid from the cold.
After what seemed like forever, you stepped out of the doorway. André nearly collapsed into the warmth of your tight hug. With a hand slowly caressing his back, you felt him hide his face as your neck.
“I miss you too, André.”

Colour Vision
Summary: Jade West/Reader/Beck Oliver soulmate au where you see color when you look your soulmate in the eyes
Tori had said she’d be at the front office to meet you to help you with your schedule but she was probably late like always and you were getting worried you'd end up being late to your first class. She was the entire reason you'd transferred to Hollywood Arts. Your acting and singing skills got you in, you know that, but you would have never thought to actually audition if Tori hadn’t pushed you. It’s why you were her best friend at her old school. You knew she had new friends now and you didn’t feel threatened by them at all, in fact you were relieved it wasn’t just going to be the two of you. You still wanted to find your soulmate and since Tori had found hers you knew you’d have to branch out on your own to search.
“Are you alright?”
“Mhm, just waiting for Tori, Vega, she’s uh supposed to help me with my schedule…” You frown at your phone and look up when you hear a laugh.
“I’m Beck, one of Tori’s friends; she’s probably going to be late; but I can help, here.” Beck’s smile is so comforting you find yourself nodding and handing over your schedule to him.
“Thanks…”
“Y/N.” You smile back and look him in the eyes. Brown. His eyes are brown; but so much of the school is still gray when you know they should be bright colours; Tori has said as much and you want to say something but he just nods and spins you around.
“You first class is right there, I have to go, I’ll meet you here for lunch I swear. I can see colours too, don’t stress.”
You try not to think about it, how your soulmate might not even be your whole soulmate and he’d run off. You try your best to avoid saying anything or walking into anyone but of course that’s not your luck. You stumble, spilling a coffee over a girl, you frown, you can see the brown stain but everything about her outfit and hair are grey. You squeeze your eyes shut and sigh preparing to let her yell at you.
“Jade sit down, you can’t even see the stain, everyone knows brown is still gray to you.” The teacher chides and you think it should be a joke but it’s still harsh, Jade doesn’t seem upset but she still walks out. You sit next to another girl who introduces herself as Cat.
“So what was that about?”
“Oh Jade? Yeah she can’t see all the colours, Beck’s not really her soulmate…” Cat mumbles and Jade looks up having walked back in, glaring, but before she can threaten her, your eyes widen, her’s are blue green.
“Oh… that’s uh, interesting,, excuse me!” You turn and run out of the room. You knew the probability of meeting your soulmate was high. But you’d thought you’d already met him; Beck, who had helped you with your schedule had suddenly had brown eyes. You’ve never heard of anyone having two soulmates. And you knew with your luck, Jade, probably hated that guy's guts.
Of course you run into Beck and then before you can say anything Jade is on your heels and they’re both pulling you into a hug. You’re just squished between them and you’re expecting them to start yelling but instead they both sigh.
“We’re so happy to have found you.”
“Found me?” You blink at them, wide eyed and shocked, apparently they were both your soulmate, which made sense as they were each other’s but not complete without you, which was why they couldn’t see colour.
“What do you want from this?”
“To be with you, and you?”
“To be with you.” They answer at the same time and all three of you laugh.
Senior year; so much has happened. You, Jade and Beck and only grown stronger in your relationship, proving that the soulmate colours were always the right choices.
“So we’re actually going to graduate!”
“I know it feels like it’s been centuriessssss.” You drag it out and Jade laughs.
“While you two are making jokes, I’ve arranged a date for all of us.”
“A date?” “Mhm, after graduation.”
“Can we have a hint.” Jade smirks at him.
“Just figured we should start our ‘after high school’ journey with a good solid first date with all of us.”
“Are we going out for ice cream?”
“Uh, no…”
“We are!” You clap your hands together and Beck scowls playfully. Clearly annoyed you’ve gotten the date plan, it was the same as the first date Jade, you and him had all gone.
Beck seems far more nervous than a usual ice cream date and you and Jade go to the bathroom to try to guess what he’s worried about.
“I bet it’s about the college he got into… you know he was stressing about being near us.” You nod, Jade and you had been accepted to the same art college, but Beck had applied late so he was still waiting for his response.

pairing: tori vega x female!reader
warnings: sadness over a lost dog, trina sucks but what else is new?
masterlist (one, two, three)
Tumblr media
The dog first showed up on their front steps.
Tori and Trina were just walking out the door to go to school when Trina quickly literally tripped up on the mound of shaggy light brown fur.
“Ew!” she exclaimed. “What the hell is that?!”
The dog quickly sat up, his tongue lulling out of his mouth as he started to paint.
“It’s a dog,” Tori said.
“I can see that,” Trina responded. “Why is there a dog blocking our doorway?”
Tori gave her sister a look. “He’s hardly blocking anything. He’s barley two feet tall.” She knelt down next to the dog and put her hand out for him to sniff. It took him just a moment to warm up to her and allow her to start petting his head. “Awe, who’s a good boy? Are you lost good boy?”
“Ew, don’t touch him. He might be full of diseases.”
“Trina, his fur is very clean and soft. I’d bet he’s somebody’s dog who got out and came up to our door.” She scratched him around his neck. “He doesn’t have a collar, though. Maybe it broke off.”
“Well, this isn’t our problem. We’re going to be late for school. Come on.”
Tori gave one last look at the dog before standing to join her sister. She hoped the poor thing would find his way home and wouldn’t be hurt.
When the two Vega girls returned home that evening, their mom was sat in the living room with the very same dog sat on the couch next to her.
“He’s still here?!” Trina said in shock.
“I went to the store earlier and found this little guy on our front porch,” their mom explained. “I thought he’d be gone by the time I got home, but he was still laying here. I brought him inside to see if we could maybe find his family.”
Tori sat on the other side of the dog and began to pat his soft fur again. He turned to look at her and licked her cheek, which made her chuckle. Trina seemed less than enthusiastic about the situation and stomped upstairs to her bedroom. Tori and her mom shared a look before giving their attention back to the dog.
They called all the local shelters to see if anyone had reported a missing dog to no avail. Tori posted a picture of the dog to her The Slap page and encouraged her friends to share it in hopes of the owner maybe seeing the status. When night came and there was no sign of finding the owner, Tori and her mom were forced to put the dog back outside in order to satisfy Trina, who had been complaining for hours that a dog was just going to ruin her beauty sleep.
The next morning, the dog was still outside, much to Trina’s chagrin. Tori wanted to take it back inside, but Trina refused and dragged her younger sister to school, leaving the dog watching them with sad eyes.
Andre was waiting by Tori’s locker when she arrived at school. “Hey, did you find that dog’s owner?”
Tori sighed. “No, and Trina refuses to let us keep him in the house, so we put him outside for the night and he was still there this morning. I wish she’d get over herself and let us keep him inside where he’ll be warm and safe until we can figure out what to do with him.”
“You guys aren’t going to keep him if you can’t find an owner?”
“I want to, mom and dad say it’s fine, but it’s Queen Trina that’s the issue. If we can get her to agree to letting us bring the dog inside, that’ll be all we can get her to agree to. She’s definitely not going to let us keep him completely.”
Tori was stuffing her bag into her locker when something caught her eye over Andre’s shoulder. It was (Y/N), a quiet, shy girl in their grade who Tori had had a crush on since the moment she started at Hollywood Arts. (Y/N) mainly kept to herself, rarely ever speaking to anyone outside of her little bubble of fellow writers. Tori had tried to get the courage to speak to her before, but it never worked out.
Today, (Y/N)’s eyes were puffy and glassy, as if she had been crying. One of her writer friends was pulling her into a hug, which (Y/N) happily accepted.
“What’s wrong with (Y/N)?” Tori asked.
Andre looked over his shoulder at the two girls as they pulled away from the embrace and started walking in the opposite direction. “I don’t know. I haven’t seen her since yesterday, but she seemed off then too. Like, extra quiet.”
“I hope everything is okay.”
Andre turned back to Tori, but his eyes moved downwards to look at her feet. “Uh...Tori?”
Tori followed his gaze to see the shaggy dog sat there. She gasped and quickly bent down to pick him up. “What are you doing here, little guy? You can’t be in school with me.”
“He must really like you. Maybe you can use his big eyes to convince Trina to let you guys keep him.”
“Not going to happen.” Tori walked over to the nearest exit and pushed the door open. She placed the dog down on the ground and tried to get it to walk away. “Shoo! Go! I have school, you can’t be here!”
The dog simply tilted his head at her as she spoke.
“Come on, let’s go to class. I’m sure he’ll leave on his own.”
And Tori believed Andre. There was no way the dog was going to stick around the entire day while Tori was at school. It was one thing for the dog to stay on her front porch the last two days, where it probably felt safe and could roam around the Vega’s property until he was taken inside, but being there at the school wasn’t safe. She was sure the dog would figure that out on his own by the time she left for the day.
However, she was shocked to see the little mess of brown fur sat by the main exit when school let out for the day. The minute he saw Tori, he quickly trotted up to her in excitement.
“Why is there a dog?” Beck asked as Tori picked him up.
“This is the lost one that has been sat in front of my house. He followed me to school today,” she explained. “I think he’s attached to me.”
“I hope you guys never find the owners, then,” Andre said, giving the dog a scratch on the top of his head.
Tori walked over to Trina’s car where her older sister was waiting. When she saw the dog, her face scrunched up in disgust. “What is that thing doing here?”
“He followed me to school,” Tori responded. “He’s not some disease ridden stray, Trina. He’s very clean and obviously belongs to someone. Would you stop acting like a brat and just let us have him inside until we find his owners? He could get sick if he’s left out in the cold for too long.”
“That’s not my problem,” Trina said with a shrug. “Besides, dogs shed, and the last thing I need is all of my good clothes ruined with dog’s fur. Now, put that thing down and let’s go home.”
“I’m not leaving him here, Trina.”
“Then you’ll walk home.”
Tori watched in astonishment as Trina got into her car and started it up. She knew better than to assume that Trina’s was bluffing, but two could play at that game. She wasn’t about to leave the dog by itself in a strange place where anything could happen to it, and she knew that if Trina showed up home without her over something so small, that they would lose their minds at Trina. So, she stood there and watched as her sister drove away.
When Trina’s car was out of sight, Tori looked down at the dog and said, “I guess we’re walking home.”
She was worried about putting the dog down and letting it walk with no leash and no collar, but the dog was so well behaved while they walked. He trailed along behind Tori close enough that she wouldn’t lose him but not so close that they were tripping up in one another. He only stopped every now and then to sniff the ground around him before he trotted along again.
This was how things went for the next two days. The dog followed Tori everywhere; to school, to home, at one point she went out with Beck, Andre, and Cat and the dog followed them to their hang out too. Trina was still adamant about not letting the dog stay, but Tori gave up caring eventually. She wasn’t going to let the dog sleep on their front step every night just because Trina was being unreasonable. She knew they weren’t going to keep it, but Tori would be damned if she let the poor thing freeze to death.
On the third day of them having the dog, Tori showed up to school late. She had taken to walking to and from school since Trina was kicking up so much of a fuss about the dog getting into her car. She had slept in and got to school past the first warning bell, so the hallways were completely empty.
Well, not completely.
Tori was trying to shove her bag into her locker when she heard the sound of someone stapling something to one of the bulletin boards. She looked across the hallways to see (Y/N) with a stack of papers under her arm, and a stapler in her hand as she put one of the papers on the board. Tori got a bit closer to see what the paper said. In big bold letters across the top it read “LOST DOG!”. Underneath, there was a picture of (Y/N) with a dog in her arms. Tori didn’t have to get much closer to realize she recognized that shaggy brown fur.
She let out a gasp before she could stop herself. (Y/N) jumped, dropping her flyers all over the floor. She muttered a curse under her breath as she knelt down to pick them up.
“I’m so sorry,” Tori said. “I didn’t mean to scare you.”
“It’s okay,” (Y/N) said. “I just didn’t realize anyone else was even here.”
Tori knelt down and helped her to pick up the flyers. Now, holding one of the flyers in her hand, she could confirm that the dog in the picture was indeed the one that had been following her around the last few days. She could hardly believe it. How much of a coincidence was that: the person she had been secretly crushing on for so long lost her dog, and it was Tori who had found it!
Well, more like the dog found Tori, but that was basically the same thing.
“You lost your dog?” Tori asked, stupidly. She cringed at herself. That was the worst conversational starter she could ever come up with. She knew she should’ve immediately told (Y/N) that she knew where the dog was.
“Yeah. A few days ago we let him out in our front yard to do his business. He was on his leash, and mom walked away for a second to go answer the phone. When she went back, his collar and leash were in the grass and he was gone.” She slumped as she told the story, as if the weight of losing her dog was starting to bear down on her again. “Dad said he would likely come back on his own that night because dogs usually do, but then he didn’t. We haven’t seen him at all, and none of the shelters have a dog that match his description.”
Tori wondered why none of the shelters told (Y/N)’s family that she and her mom had already called about a lost dog that matched the description. Maybe they didn’t remember, or maybe it was different people than who they had been talking to. If they had told (Y/N), she wouldn’t have gone for so long worrying about her dog’s safety.
“I hope he’s okay,” (Y/N) said, gazing down at the picture of her and the dog. “He’s been gone for so long that dad is starting to give up hope, but I’m trying not to. He’s my best friend, I’ve had him since I was a kid.”
Tori could see tears welling up in (Y/N)’s eyes. She couldn’t take the sight of (Y/N) so sad anymore. She knew where the dog was, all she had to do was tell her. She could see (Y/N) happy, and she could reunite a dog with his owner. She wouldn’t have to listen to Trina complaining anymore about the dog being in their house.
“(Y/N), I think I know where your dog is.”
(Y/N) looked up at Tori with big, hopeful eyes. “You do?”
Tori stood from the floor and made her way over to the entrance she had just frantically ran in through. She propped the door open just enough for the small dog to wiggle his way in. He looked up at Tori first, his tongue hanging out as he panted with excitement. When (Y/N) gasped, the dog turned to look at her. His face lit up even more as he sprinted across the hallway into (Y/N)’s arms.
“Benji!” she exclaimed. “Oh my God, it’s really you!”
Benji, Tori thought. Cute name for such a cute little guy.
Benji excitedly licked (Y/N)’s face as she hugged him close and kissed the top of his head. “I thought you were gone! I will never ever lose you again. I promise.”
The dog barked in response. Both Tori and (Y/N) tried to shush him, hoping that no one had heard the bark.
(Y/N) seemed to remember that Tori was there and looked up at her. There was tears forming in her eyes again, but these ones seemed more happier than the ones before.
“Where did you find him?” she asked.
“Actually, he kind of found us. He was on our front step a few days ago and just stuck around. He’s been following me everywhere. I guess that’s a good thing now, though.”
(Y/N) stood and threw her arms around Tori’s neck. The gesture took Tori by surprise and, for a second, her brain stopped working. It was like her body was on autopilot, unsure of what to do next in this situation. Of course, the correct and easy response was just to hug (Y/N) back, but neither her brain nor her body could figure that response out.
“Thank you,” (Y/N) said. “Thank you so much for keeping him safe.”
“Y-You’re welcome,” Tori said. “But you really don’t have to thank me. I think anyone would’ve made sure he was safe if he went to anyone else’s house.”
(Y/N) pulled away from the hug. “Maybe, but that’s not guaranteed. I’m glad it was you he went to. Must’ve been able to sense your kindness.”
As soon as the words were out of her mouth, (Y/N) turned away from Tori. Tori felt her own face heating up with blush at the compliment. Benji was sat on the floor looking between them, as if he too knew exactly what was happening between the two of them.
“Listen,” Tori forced herself to say before she chickened out. (Y/N) turned to look back at her. The words tried to fizzle out in Tori’s throat, but she tried her best to save them before they did. “We’re both super late for class anyways, and you can’t bring a dog with you to class. What if we...get out of here?”
(Y/N) raised an eyebrow at her. “Like...play hookie?”
Tori nodded. “Yeah. Let’s go get something to eat and maybe get something for little Benji, like treats or something, to celebrate his safe arrival home.”
“Just...just the two of us?”
Tori was afraid that (Y/N) would say no. It wasn’t like the two of them hung out, or even spoken before now. She understood if (Y/N) didn’t feel comfortable enough to hang out with her alone, but she was really, really hoping that she would say yes.
When she smiled, Tori felt her heart flutter. “Okay, I’d like that.”
Tori grabbed her bag and (Y/N) picked Benji up into her arms. The two girls exited the school together, first with their arms interlocked together. But eventually, during their adventure, (Y/N) took hold of Tori’s hand.
And Tori couldn’t thank Benji enough for what he had done for her.

Dating Andre Harris
warnings ✩° : none! just cute fluff. i really went all out with the cute fluff aspect.
pairing ✩° : andre harris x gn!reader
authors note ✩° : RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Tumblr media
- Andre is an ABSOLUTE SWEETHEART. He will never let you go without telling you how much he loves and appreciates you, finding all the right ways to complement you and make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. Andre does things that no one even thinks about when it comes to you because he knows you and he knows what you like.
- He surprises you on a daily basis, giving you surprise hugs from behind or gifts like a coffee or tea depending on what you like. He also just says things
- Very specific, but if you're sitting on one end of a super long seat like a bench or something, Andre will slide over and wrap his arm around you and give you a peck on the cheek before asking you what you're up to.
- His grandma actually likes you, despite being weary with every single one of Andre’s friends, she enjoys talking to you and just looking at you for long periods of time. Andre says she doesn't mean bad by doing that, she just thinks you're very nice looking at that’s great in your book.
- If you like to cook or bake, Andre is always the first to try. Whether it be a joke concoction where you want him to react poorly, or a really delectable plated meal, he’s always eager to try. His expression is always priceless, and he’s always so happy to eat whatever you make.
- Singing! Duets! All those cheesy lyrics too!
- Andre always stands up for you if you're soft spoken, referring to you as ‘my insert pet name’ and will question anything anyone makes you do things. Especially if it’s a friend telling you to do something for them, Andre will step in and ask what they're having you do, and if it doesn't get the Andre stamp of approval then you're not doing it. He only prevents you from doing dumb stuff or things that he knows will put you in danger, so it’s for your own safety, really.
- He doesn't look like the type, but Andre is very protective over you. Not to say he keeps you on a short leash, but he really is worried for you and worried about the people around you who try and flirt with you. No, he’s not insecure and no you're not a flirt, he just doesn't like the idea of a lot of people romantically after you. That means if someone asks you out and Andre finds out about it, he’ll show up to the date spot instead.
“Hey, Y/n, I thought first we’d—OH WHAT—”
“We’d what, pretty boy?”
- Over time, you've discovered that your go to seat no matter where you are is on Andre’s lap. Especially when he’s already leaned back in his chair, all you have to do is sit down on his lap and get comfortable for a few seconds and you're all set. Andre loves it, you love it, and it ends up with his arms wrapped around your waist, playing with your hair, or rubbing your back.
- Definitely the type to go in for side kisses, grabbing behind your neck to pull you in and smile into the kiss. Though he only kisses you in private, he makes up for the lack of ‘couple’ attention by those moments alone.
- Everyone always knows when he’s talking to you on the phone since his voice changes into a deeper tone and by the way he wanders off, sitting on random surfaces and kicks his feet, twirling his hair and giggling into the speaker.
“Andre shut up.”
“YOU SHUT UP. I’m talking to my baby~”
- He’s so supportive in anything you do, and I mean anything. If you wanted to quit singing, start tap dancing, start ballet, start holding EDM concerts, or film symbolic movies no one understands, Andre’s the first one to see it with that same smile on his face no one else gets.
- VERY into physical touch. He’s fine with just rubbing your arm or resting his hand on your leg, as long as he’s in some sort of contact with you he’s peachy.

Hallo-Week
Summary: 🎃 HC Reader/Jade West; Reader gets scared and Jade defends herd.
“It’s Hallo-Week!!!!’ Cat is bouncing around and you laugh.
“Another crazy hollywood arts tradition?”
“Mhm! Every halloween we do everything you would on halloween but like during the whole week!”
“Really.” You shift on your feet suddenly nervous. You’d never been a huge fan of scary things or gore and you know Hollywood Arts it’s going to go big about everything involving Halloween.
You’d been dating Jade West since her and Beck had broken up; you knew a few people thought it strange; the few that knew you; knew you hated scary and spooky things; which is why you usually spend halloween watching your favorite movies at home eating pizza cuddled on the couch. Which you’d invited jade to; she’d been happy to accept; excited to be invited into your private tradition but had asked if you’d be willing to go to at least one Hallo-week event with everyone. You said that seemed fair; and assured her that if there was something specific she wanted to do you’d be happy to go along with her even if it wasn’t something you really enjoyed.
“So what’s the big event we’re going to?” You ask looking down at the calendar that has everything. You assumed Jade was going to pick the haunted hay ride but she reminded you it was a group outing so it was most likely going to be one of the haunted houses; since they allowed for the biggest group; and with everyone coming it was going to be all eight of you which meant you might not get a full hayride seating together. You didn’t think it would be that bad but the whole point was that you were all able to do the activity as a group.
No one else knew you hated scary things in the group; until halloween it hadn’t actually ever come up; any horror movies the group wanted to go see Jade had already seen so the two of you went to see something else. Other than that there wasn’t really a lot of horror or scary things; the couple of special effects make-up classes that everyone had had usually were easy for you to calm yourself down from; you knew it was fake; you’d seen all the blood and guts and gore going on so it wasn’t really that scary; plus working on other classmates was much more fun and usually ended up with playfully joking which put you at ease.
The haunted house wasn’t actually a house; just two of the hallways in Hollywood arts connected through the outer courtyard and then filled with fake walls to make separate rooms. They made you sign one of those forms mostly as a joke; well that’s what you’re hoping. Jade is grinning at you when she shows up; she’d decided to drive there; partially because she’d had work but also because that way the two of you could go back to your house and watch movies after the inevitable scare you were going to be dealing with.
You get separated from jade almost immediately; it’s robbie who pulls you away claiming there's an issue with his glasses and you can see Andre moving jade forward. You’d heard Beck and Trina talking about a prank but you assumed it was going to be on Jade; since she claimed nothing scared her; or even Robbie. Instead you quickly realize it’s you they’re going to prank and you’re dreading what’s going to happen; hoping they don’t drench you in fake blood or anything like that.
The prank isn’t actually that bad; once you’ve calmed down a little bit you would almost find it funny if it hadn’t been in the middle of the haunted house. They’d left you all pretending to get snatched by some of the actors and managed to pay off the techs working to switch the walls; so you couldn’t actually come back the way you’d came. You had to go forward.
You know you’re crying by the end of it; shaking and miserable when Jade wraps her arms around you.
Jade just swallows, kissing your forehead and turning to the rest of the group.
“What. The Fuck. Is wrong with you all. She said she didn’t want to do anything scary and you all think going to a haunted house is okay?”
“Well it-” Tori starts but Jade just glares.
“One that makes you sign a waiver.” Jade hisses and Robbie and Beck look away.
“Oh now you’re thinking it through. Fuck all of you; we’re going to hang out; don’t include us in any other Hallo-week plans.” Jade hisses and pulls you into her arms walking you back towards the car she’d come in.
