to any americans who feel "paralyzed" and "dont know what to do" to help with gaza:
reading a fucking book. i beg of you.
in a time of knowledge suppression is it your duty to arm yourself with knowledge.
read about americas occupations in the middle east.
read about 9/11 from outside of america and see how they inflicted senseless harm and violence to countless amounts of people and have been suppressing your rights for the past 2 fucking decades.
read about any of the countless wars from the past 30 years. especially from a civilian's. and the victims and survivors' perspective. listen to the horror stories and do not plug your fucking ears as to what your country is doing.
and read about fucking gaza and palestine and keep up with what is happening no matter how "sad" or "uncountable" you might get.
dont look away from this.
you dont have the right to be comfortable during countless active genocides.
if you're knowledgeable, you're powerful, and our current state doesnt fucking want that.
you have the power to change things if you open your eyes and scream to the world.
wake the fuck up.
Edit: please check the reblogs there are readings and ways to help

you motherfuckers have no concept of what "land back" or "decolonize" even mean. you're too busy demonizing entire groups of people, terrified, shitting yourselves, that they'll do even half of the horrors to you that you've done to them for decades or centuries. this shit comes off as hella racist for real. you hate arabs so much. you hate first nations people so much. you hate black people so much. even if you sympathize with them, you can't fucking bear the idea of them gaining freedom, independence, autonomy, safety, because you're so, so scared they'll hurt you back and cause chaos in the streets. these same people who just want to rebuild. who just want to go home. who just want to see their families again. who just want food. who just want medical care. who just want dry, warm shelter. you're so focused on the ideas of colonization, of "us vs. them", of one people displacing the other for a state to exist, that you cannot comprehend coexistence, and your only idea of peace is if an entire group of people were just gone and dead.
grow the fuck up. for the love of GOD, grow the fuck up.

have i ever talked abt my personal pokemon mythos origin for giratina as arceus’ bile. ok well im doing it now
giratina is the bile built up and spat out after the creation of the universe. arceus loved this spontaneous and unplanned creation, but it was too violent and had to be sealed away. giratina now preforms as a sort of counterbalance to the universe from the distortion world. dialga and palkia are older, and were created when arceus severed two of its many arms. they sequestered themselves in other realms on their own terms, after seeing how their power could lead to terrible results. uxie mesprit and azelf were created after all this as a sort of safeguard against further destruction. they are some of the oldest pokemon to have not left the world for somewhere else
i think arceus loved giratina very much. it was an unplanned and chaotic being that it considered beautiful in its spontaneity, but could not come to terms with the destruction it wrought. the world was new, and all arceus could think to do was to seal it away. the shame this action brought to it was a big factor in arceus becoming a mostly absent god, not trusting itself to directly meddle in the world it created

Chronicle of a Disappearance (1996), dir. Elia Suleiman
On the one hand, there is a man sitting in front of the Holy Land. I am there, as part of the scene, as part of the place, but I'm there with a sense of alienation. I'm stagnating. For me this is what it is like to be in a ghetto. I wanted to convey that sense that nothing is happening, nothing is moving. Nazareth has that air. Now on the other hand there is the Biblical sense of the place, which I chose to represent as a commodity. According to this view we are not a nation or people, we are simply products to buy and take home, and we exist in the midst of something ancient. When Israel took this country, they made a minority out of the Palestinians, they ghettoized them. And they took their image as a product for consumer consumption. (x)

How would Talon!Dick react to someone using magic to pretend to be Jason? Like a shape shifter looking and acting like Jason? 🦉
Violence. Straight up violence.
I reckon Dick would be able to suss out imposters very easily due to the fact that him and Jason still mainly communicate with bird sounds, especially as a form of greetings and reassurance of the other’s presence. And while it might be comparably easy to take someone else’s form, the shapeshifter/magic user would have a much harder time imitating that special kind of language. Or actually I reckon they wouldn’t manage at all.
And Jason is good at bird sounds. Insanely good, to a point where even Dick wouldn’t know the difference between a true talon and Jason if they didn’t have their special call signs.
So even if the imposter knew about the bird sounds, just one wrong or slightly off hoot would be able to tip Dick off that that’s not his owlet.
And that’s enough for him to switch straight to burning fury. Mostly out of the deep seated terror that whatever stole Jason’s face may have hurt him to do so. 🦉

was talking with my psych and she mentioned that due to the sheer amount of death i've experienced that the way i interact with the world and the way my mind works is similar to that of her clients who are refugees and survivors of war and other catastrophes, particularly in my struggles to relate to others, anhedonia, chronic stress response, etc. like i have c-ptsd it's all trauma whatever but it's like. the things that repetitive and constant loss not just of people but places and rituals and belonging does to a person. to think of your childhood with tables full of people and the only one who still lives and remembers any of it is you. all of the places are no longer accessible, lost to time. holidays mean nothing anymore. bad things happen and the people you need comfort from are dead, good things happen and the people you need to share it with are dead. life events rendered meaningless. and unable to connect to others because they view this kind of tragedy to be just something that happens to you and thus something you should be used to, and the normal life worries they have become difficult to listen to because they lack the perspective this kind of grief brings. any problem that is not "someone is dead or dying" is a minor issue in my mind, it is all survivable, i can cope with it and quietly find a way through. loss on this scale does not and has not made me a better person, or rather, i have to choose kindness and empathy and compassion every day and hold myself resolutely to that and check myself constantly as much as i can because if i allow myself to be cruel and angry even if it is a righteous anger it will only cause further alienation and further harm. an awareness that if i had not experienced all of this that the things others go through would be greater issues, and committing myself to empathy for others, to be kind and gentle as much as i can (and sometimes failing), even if it feels like swallowing glass. there's no winning or escaping only trudging through

not to hornets nest again so soon but erm. ok. i love when ppl have many different hcs for characters, like with sexuality and race and the like! ithink it's valuable and fun and insightful, and there's just so much to chew on about how different lenses can shape and mold the subject of them. at the same time. however. i do think you have to mb unpack. how certain things reflect and how they can become coded. mb. like we should think about why we think certain things. in my opinion.
