i think that's the point! there's a VERY blurry area where we begin, where our role within the story does, what chara is and what frisk does. an intentionally blurry one, at that. and i think no mercy is the one iteration of undertale's story that acts as the exception that makes the rule, neatly and irreparably dividing "us" from "chara".

it's no coincidence that we achieve it in the route where we stack up as much LV as is physically possible, a mechanic textually described as "distancing [you] from yourself".

i dont rly care tbh. i can't be mad at them. i fully blame dream for most if not everything that happened on that server going wrong because he wanted to avoid portraying a fictional child abuser getting his shit kicked in while he was allegedly abusive irl.

i believe dream only agreed to do the finale to distract people from the allegations, after apparently not replying to tommy for months to script their ending. the entire section of dsmp that you classify as its "conclusion" is actually just a poorly executed distraction on all sides. no wonder quackity doesnt talk to him anymore. if someone used my art to deflect allegations as serious as those id probably go fucking crazy and do more than write a half-baked ending.

sorry to relate this back to dream. but rot spreads. bad people make bad art, and i dont blame quackity for having to try and work around the bad to give his audience some semblance of an ending. hoping qsmp is more fun for everypony

he has no idea that tubbo is taking his actions as part of a broader pattern of disrespect to him (and honestly would NOT know how to show his affection otherwise)

it's kinda similar to how etoiles doesn't get why tubbo cares so much about what etoiles thinks of his money-making schemes imo. both etoiles and pierre have a shit-talking teasing relationship with tubbo but don't quite see how sensitive he can still be even if he participates in it (men lol). tho tubbo definitely cares more about etoiles' perception of him than pierre's.

anyway mild angst aside (i just can't help myself), pierre and tubbo's relationship is so funny and honestly quite sweet. i love seeing them interact

Hey Second! As the resident vault hunters fanatic, I was wondering if you or any of your followers had links to Joe’s vh streams on youtube. It seems like most of them have been unlisted and I missed a lot of them live so I only have about half saved. The older streams are reaching the 60 day mark where twitch deletes the vods. Im hoping that they’re not just lost to the void

i'm so sorry, i don't have the links--i mostly watch joe on twitch, so i don't have the old youtube links saved :(. if anyone else has them, i'd love to see them, but if he's been unlisting them i'm not really sure what to do because he normally does that intending people won't watch them (his final hermitcraft 9 stream was immediately unlisted and deleted on twitch and i KNOW he does that when he's planning on making something mostly episode content and doesn't want to take away from that but GOD THAT HURTS I WISH I'D KNOWN HE WAS GOING TO DO THAT SO I COULD DOWNLOAD IT, it hurts my HEART when stuff like this gets lost, i swear, like, that one has genuinely upset me for real).

anyway i suspect the vault hunters streams are being unlisted because they've largely been turning into episode content, and he wants people to watch the episodes instead, so you can at least get a large portion of the streams from those, but like... man.

if anyone has the old links in their youtube history and they HAVE just been unlisted and not deleted, please let me know so anonymous--person can archive them! that'd be really nice!

okay so. What Icarus wants you to *think* they're doing is ignoring any guilt they might feel and flat out ignoring it as a whole. In reality, Icarus just. Isn't great at dealing with it? which is probably to general of a statement because there's a lot of ways to badly deal with it, but it's probably the best general way to describe it.

In more specific terms, Icarus doesn't like to *acknowledge* when they feel guilty over something, but it will be rather clear through actions and words that they *are.* While it's not necessarily a tell they're guilty as it's sort of a nervous/anxious tick at this point, their little pacing thing is something they often do when confronted about things they're guilty of (and even in private they'll do it.) When it *is* their fault, Icarus will try to deny it, and say that it wasn't - even when it definitely was. Right now in their current emotional state they're more likely to just go with it and not even bother denying it. When it comes down to "things they feel guilty over even when they're not at fault", Icarus will often do everything they can to *not* incriminate anyone else implicated, and only imply themself being the sole person who should take the guilt. (If you'd like specific examples of this; Two Shall Break/Two Shall Mourn has a lore of Icarus implying themself at fault for Centross if you'd like to see it in action :D)

also one thing that makes me a bit upset is the fact that in about 3-5 years, the next gen of minecraft players will be asking us why we dye our beds red, why we tame ocelots and go for the Jelly cat. They're gonna question why we talk about roses, and why we go for the light grey wolves. They're gonna question why we do redstone the way we always do, and ask who the Hermitcraft/Empires/Life smp members are. All They're gonna know is the dsmp and qsmp, and there's nothing wrong with that. They're going to ask why we have every recipe memorised, and in a few more years than that They're gonna ask who Technoblade is. When we make an Aha joke, say Snappers or mention DesertDuo, FlowerHusbands, NatureWives, and other ships, They're gonna tilt their heads and look confused. This won't be their faults, but it still will make me upset.

Oh wow that is gonna be fascinating and bittersweet to watch... I hadn't even considered/realized half of these yet, like the wolves and the various ships and CC mannerisms/bits

I think it's gonna be neat getting to introduce people to them for the first time, and teach about them to the next generation of mcyt/Minecraft fans tho. Like I didn't know about the roses until I watched Joel and Lizzie play early versions of the game, or how I discovered Hermitcraft late s9 and never knew TFC, but then I've learned about those things from the community and creators

It's definitely gonna be odd and a bit sad tho, especially as the transition starts and the first few times each thing is missed or forgotten

It'll be strange seeing newer fans just as unknowledgeable on my faves as I am on the previous generation of mcyts (the ones so many of my peers watched when they were kids, who's names I barely know, but who seem to have been very dear to a lot of people)

Was so stressed out from work that I thought about quitting and then went home and had a dream about SQH never going to Cang Qiong and just becoming a Librarian but the kind from the Librarian series so Indiana Jones kind of thing where he finds all the world ending artifacts he wrote about and just stores them but is an actual librarian as well so he's so soft but formidable like all of them tend to be and Tianglang Jun never returned a book he borrowed and that's how the rest of the plot meet him, as this pissed off librarian hitting TLJ with a shovel and demanding he return a book and pay the fine then I woke up and was so inspired that I quit my job and found another at a florist and am living my best life just like SQH thank you Morpheus. Anyhow just wanted to let you know
