The BoBs really think Ryan confirmed their ship is happening because he said "whatever happens happens" and he didn't outright say it wouldn't happen. Uhm he did say that in his "Eddie is a heterosexual man, Buck's straight friend that he came out to, and it's so nice that a straight man and a bi man can be friends" interview and y'all didn't believe him. Not to mention JLH telling them it wasn't going to happen, and then backtracking when the BoBs went crazy.

But we're the deluded ones for shipping bucktommy after just three episodes and Tommy being a plot device (apparently).

Well. People are free to think what they want, obviously. I don't even see much of what the BoBs are saying, only what is shared in the buck/tommy tags because I value my peace way too much to go look into the chaos.

"Whatever happens happens" means "you don't get to decide". Also how do they know that it's not Ryan who said no eventually?

They're angry because they now realize their fantasy won't become canon and like a bunch of toddlers who realize they won't have the toy they thought they would get, they throw a temper tantrum. And I can understand the disappointment. But not the reaction. Not the violence in their posts. There's no love for the show there, for the creative minds, for the effort of representation, for the people who work hard to make it happen. They're not fans. They just saw two cute men and projected their fantasies on them, whatever the story or the character development.

Yes, some choices don't make much sense in canon, I even myself would have enjoyed to see Eddie and Buck together at the beginning. It would have been cute, with Christopher loving them both so much too. But that's not what happened and they definitely wrote them in a way that doesn't leave any doubt if you don't try to read so hard between lines that don't even exist. People need to accept a story for what it is, and if they don't like it, they can live in complete denial of it. There's no shame in that but do it with respect. Your fantasy is yours.

The hate against Tommy is also their problem. They can hate him all they want but they twist everything about him to fit their hateful narrative. Queer characters deserve respect. Well, most of them, a queer pos is still a pos. But Tommy has been brought back into the show and written with respect for the character, for the story and for his purpose: being Buck's new romance. Not only he already existed in the show but also has history with the 118 and has a significant shared story with Hen and Chim. He's already a characters in itself, he just came back.

Having a character like Tommy is also more than just a interesting character. It's a necessary character. He fits the cishet macho mold so perfectly: veteran, pilot, firefighter, buff, confident, professional, brave. But he's GAY AF. And everything he does is respectful and kind. And haters have to rely on lying to show him in a bad light because so far, there's nothing. Imagine what this kind of character looks like for the average audience? It's great representation for us queer.

In the end, BoBs can hate all they want, Buck and Tommy together is canon, Tommy has only shown positive traits so far, he's shown sane boundaries and respect for other's. When haters have to rely on details, and still twist them, to justify their hate, you know they know they're wrong. They know, but they can't give up now that they've reach this level of hate.

All I would ask of them would be to stop the hate against real life people and stop pulling them into the drama (the live with JLH was NO THAT. Shame on them). Let the fandom be at war between ships if you need that to feel something but leave real people out of that, especially actors and Lou in particular. They're paid to play and this is not a service. You're not a client they have to satisfy because you paid for a specific performance. The bullying and entitlement need to stop.

hey sorry, im going thru a tough time rn and I was thinking abt asking the gods for some help (I follow dionysus mainly but ares is calling to me rn) but I dont really worship them and I dont want it to feel like im taking without giving, if that makes sense. and I was wondering, as someone who’s pretty in the closet about deity worship and doesnt have much space for offerings or anything, how I could show my appreciation? pretty much the only thing I can do is think, maybe write stories. would they accept that? if I wrote stories about them as little characters in my head? sorry again, thanks for reading

Hello, thank you for the question and I'm sorry you're going through a tough time right now, I relate. You can show your appreciation without an altar or obvious offerings through very subtle yet effective means. Ways you can show your appreciation include:

Prayer: Prayer is one of the most effective means to show appreciation to the Gods, especially in terms of writing/making your own. Also, it can be said in your head so no one has to know except you and the God/Goddess you'd be praying to.

Devotional writing: Yes the Gods would accept those stories you write them because you're writing them with positive intentions to show your appreciation and honor the Gods. Devotional writing can include small prayers, long or short stories, poetry,

Art: This one could be more difficult but if you draw on a tablet/phone or on paper, creating drawings of the Gods or not even of the Gods but more discreetly stuff that represents them. Like with Dionysus you could draw a wine vineyard or leopards. For Ares you could draw battle armor and weaponry. Incorporating colors associated with them, and making sure you state before the drawing that you are creating it in honor of that specific deity (and you can say it in your head): i.e. "Dionysus I am creating this drawing as an offering to you and in honor of you" and you can add to that statement or change it up to include whatever benefits you. If you want to include more in the prayer about what you want help with/are struggling with currently, you can. It's all personal to you, and as long as you're intentions are positive and you are being respectful, the Gods acknowledge this.

Jewelry: For Apollo, I wear a sunflower ring and a sunflower necklace. People don't see my jewelry and think that it is for religious reasons, they just think I like sunflowers. For Dionysus, you could wear something like a grape necklace, or for Ares a dagger necklace. It is simple but if you dedicate that piece of jewelry to that deity, you can wear it as a devotional act, and it means something when it comes to worshipping them.

Playlists: Create playlists for the Gods you worship as an offering and listen to them as a devotional act. Include songs that remind you of that God and make you feel connected to them. For example, here's my playlist to Ares and Apollo. Ares Playlist | Apollo Playlist

BoB means Buddie or Bones Bust (I think there are some variations? So if anyone can correct me here, please do! Edit: original source). Basically, it's the part of the Buddie shippers that openly hates Tommy (Edit: and apparently any of Buck's past LI who also received their share of hate) and the relationship between Tommy and Buck. They're also the part of the fandom who are harassing the cast and writers, especially Lou and Tim because they feel like Buddie should have happened.

We all know that shipping Buddie is perfectly normal, I also loved the idea of them together when I started the show, and this ship has been at the center of the fandom for years. So I really understand the disappointment. Really. What I don't understand, and refuse to ignore, is the hate against real people, and insulting them online, under official posts, by tagging them, etc.

So while I have absolutely no problem with Buddie shippers who stay in their lane, and that's the majority, I won't stay silent when it comes to the "BoBs" and the ugly things they do and say.

oh geeze, thanks! 💚💚💚 I'm really glad people enjoy my stupid sense of humor; mostly I just draw things to make myself laugh, and if it makes other people laugh too, then bonus points! usually it's just one joke or mental image that gets stuck in my head (every time I saw Fellow spin his cane, all I could think about was him go-go-gadgeting away on it...) and in my quest to justify it, it picks up other jokes and bits along the way and usually doesn't even end up as the main focus anymore. entire narrative arcs have spun out just so I could use a single bad pun in a throwaway line. this is a terrible way to explain it but I'm not sure how else to put it into words!
