Today I enjoyed a long walk to the lake where I sat and read a book 📖 . Surrounded by nature, ducks swimming on the water, dragonflies buzzing around and birds singing. It was instantly relaxing. Just being out in nature makes everything so much more relaxing and enjoyable. . . I was really at peace here. . Brought a picnic to enjoy, and then a long uphill walk back. Honestly a uphill walk is difficult for me with the fibromyalgia, but I was determined to get to that lack and have a leisurely day relaxing there! And it was well worth it. . . It is a beautiful day for a walk in the woods. Every time I go for a walk through the woods, I’m reminded how truly blessed I am every time. The bigger picture of losing body fat is getting yourself to move more and eat less…
Although sometimes this can be taken to the extremes of excessive cardio 4+ times per week and crash dieting ☹️
Not to say there isn’t a time and place to me more than normally focused (you can still do this in a healthy, sustainable way) on crushing your goals - especially in the beginning to get the ball rolling and see some results 😤
Walking should always be the foundation for whether you’re in transformation mode, just living your life maintaining what you’ve created, and for staying healthy ✅
Any motive you have for changing your body needs to start small - hydration, sleep, better food choices, etc. are all the “little” things that last forever and replace those bad habits keeping you from your goals 👍
It sounds so simple, but I think we’re all surprised that most folks aren’t getting near 10k steps per day with driving to work, sitting throughout, then driving back home to the couch 😅
I love walking for a few main reasons:

Daily movement is so important to your health. . In Japan and countries where the lifespan is longer and healthy outcomes are higher they walk everyday! I remember seeing the little old grandma and grandpas walking around the neighborhood every morning and evening! . Not just daily movement but frequency also matters, we were never made to be sedentary. Unfortunately many of our jobs today make us sedentary, sitting at a desk all day, driving instead of riding a honor walking home. . Getting our food at the market instead of hunting and growing it ourselves. . . It’s important to walk daily, make time in morning, afternoon or evening for a quick walk, vary your pace. Try each week to increase the time and distance. .
