Thank you for getting me to finally try pixel art! I‘ve always wanted to get into pixel art but I never knew what to start with and always ended up procrastinating. Your blog and the post you made on learning pixel art were what finally pushed me to give it a go. It was really helpful and I managed this little animation in Libresprite.

I definitely want to improve and your art is like the ultimate goal lol. Do you have any tips or instructions for how to get better or on what to focus on in the future? I‘d appreciate any kind of criticism/input you are willing to give! How do you manage to make such gigantic and beautiful landscapes?

i can help a little with animation stuff but i'm not an expert, ill write something out about backgrounds at the end

i added an extra frame near the top of the arc so it slows down. this is called ease or slow in/out and usually happens at the beginning and end of movements. u can do even more slow but this is just a quick version
i also removed the middle frame (where the tail is straight down) to make the swing appear a bit more powerful. this could be the principle of timing in the same video. you can exaggerate smears if you do this, its up to you!! lately i tend to exaggerate stuff a lot, things arent super noticable in motion
i also got a good bit of advice from nickwoz that helped me, basically when you begin to animate, it really puts the rest of the sprite being still into focus. try to think of how you could animate other parts of the body, even subtly. and sometimes if individual pixels stay still they can catch the eye in an unintended way as well, just keep it in mind!!
if you want to learn animation more, you could take a look at duelyst sprites, they have incredible idle and ability animations, i study them a lot

heres one i downloaded a long time ago. i recommend just downloading stuff you like and looking at it!! i have a huge collection of pixel inspo. slowing animations down can really help you understand whats going on. its just a bunch of simple elements put together that makes it look so good.

it looks like you have art experience already, but im gonna talk as if youre a complete noob cos it might help some other people who read this!! ur doing great 👍
❓ how to learn: study (and practise a lot)
what i mean by study: draw it, copy it, try to understand it. you can try to change characteristics about it. changing the angle or lighting can help u understand how something works in 3 dimensions.
sometimes it takes time, dont worry, you will figure out your own style through doing studies, its all a process
❓ how to draw landscape details?
study pixel artists and how they do it recommendations: fool, slym, jubilee, deceiver
also please look at real world references!! you got to build that visual library
❓ how to learn composition?
study traditional artists or animation. i did a ton of studies of ghibli backgrounds which i think helped my growth a lot recommendations: arcane, studio ghibli, traditional painters
im gonna break down a piece as well and maybe that will help. this is one from 2022 but its still one of my most popular and its pretty simple too!!

if we remove all the fancy stuff what we have is actually really simple. just a few large, overlapping shapes that all point towards our focal point. it's the brightest area with the most contrast and many edges point into it.
go to pinterest or google and just search "pretty landscape" or "mountains" or something and you can see what i'm doing is nothing special or unique!! break it down into bigger shapes to begin with, its just different areas of material mostly.

and heres how you can make any landscape from any colours. purple sky or mountain? orange grass? ok !! it all works, it doesnt matter. i just blend the colours.
when parts of the landscape are in the distance they become closer to the sky colour as there is more "sky" in between you and it. its called atmospheric perspective. so if the sky was red, the clouds would fade towards red.
OKKK i dont know what else to say so i hope that helps!! honestly 90% of what i do is intuitive and hard for me to really explain, so you dont have to know The Rules, you just kind of pick up stuff as you go.

Hello you jubilant jaguars!
We've finished our final project and have placed all our things on the wall for assessment on Thursday. I didn't have as much to physically present because I didn't have my larger drawings from the first animation brief.
I've very much enjoyed the animation discipline work we've done and the overall process and pacing of the workflow. It was a little bit jarring in the beginning but once you started getting into it, it felt productive and consistent.
Final Brief "Nursery Rhyme"
I have to admit I was a little hesitant with doing group work that is often either really good or really annoying. I was blessed to be in the former of groups.
In the beginning I was a little withdrawn perhaps because my mind was on CCS and the prompt of

wasn't something that sparked many ideas for me. I don't have a great pool of reference for space themed bits of media so I didn't feel super comfortable coming up with ideas. The first day we were supposed to make draft scripts to which I opted to do some research instead of. In the beginning it didn't feel like I was pulling my weight as such but during the weekend we had a call on Sunday to show off our newly written script, of which I did do.

It was my first time writing a script but I was actually really enjoying it towards the middle. I finished after an hour and didn't really revise it because I was occupied with CCS work I needed to get done. There's a couple of things I learned, from the time I spent.
I'm not supposed to write descriptions of shots. (in the beginning)
My dialogue was really long and wordy. (I wanted to get my ideas of characterization across and didn't give myself time to revise and edit it which I would've done usually.
On Monday we finalized the script after taking different aspects of each of our scripts that we liked. From my script they took:
The beginning shots of the space craft showing characterization through visuals.
"Some of the characterization and dialogue ideas such as "is that Russian?"
I spent Monday working on CCS and then on Tuesday my group had storyboard stuff done but I didn't have much of an impact on it besides revising the argument scene between Ridley and Latimer in the buggy. I found myself although not contributing as many new ideas to a discussion but rather looking at the ideas we had and seeing if they fit in with an overall vision. I suggested having an overall theme for the story as it is an Epic and came up with the idea of blind beliefs and the consequences that can lead to.
I knew I had to start pulling my weight for the group and we started doing research. I was put in charge of landscapes as well as spaceships and their interior.

I found the Observing the Moon book to be quite useful for looking at the Apollo missions, reasons for its' discontinuation and the geography of the moon. Moonshine was a Dreamworks background art book that more so served as inspiration and motivation for my future background work.
We put together a google slide consisting of the research we did and these were the ones I made.

We then went onto look at style/aesthetic and once again I felt like I didn't contribute much to this discussion although I was okay with going for the Star trek, Akira hybrid we settled on.
We then started going into concept art. I was put in charge of landscapes and backgrounds along with Mik. I focused on the moon surface and the spaceship interior and exterior. I found this youtube video to be quite useful for getting started as I wasn't too confident in my abilities to make background art.

I found this process quite fun in keeping loose shapes with wide brushstrokes and practising stroke economy which aims to show great detail and imagery to the viewer with implied detail. I also tried playing with values. It was also my first time really using the gradient tool which add a little interest to the sky as opposed to just a flat colour.

I feel like I could've experimented more with composition but I wanted to get more work done so I took one of the compositions and changed the hue/saturation/brightness to show different colours and palettes to see what type of feel we want for the background. I did try and place the ship in different spots to see how it'd look composition wise but that was the extent of it. I settled on a closer view of the ship for my master shot.

My group liked the bottom three particularly the bottom left purple hue. I then took this and fixed the sky to make it pop more with stars.

I also spent time working on the space ship itself. I sketched them out traditionally based off the video I had in my research to get used to the shape and structure of the exterior and then went to do it digitally/. I quickly sketched out my shapes and then went over them with a paint brush. I didn't do line art and kept it pretty basic.

I think I got the basic look of it down here and once again played with the hues/saturation/brightness to see how it would look differently.
I went over it again but took more time to make it fit the Akira aesthetic more. I used airbrushes, with a lack of line and tried to make it more detailed in spots. In the end I finished it early and was mostly happy with the top half.

Before starting my master shots at home, I wanted to look at other parts of the project for my time in college. I felt like we were lacking some of the civilization development and ideas and started drawing up designs for that.

Basing it off roman architecture with elements of irish stone carvings with the idea of rat/mice imagery and looking at how a language could be formed from this with writing. When it comes to writing I knew the writing would be composed of scratches as if done by mice. The writing I thought would look like symbols not too dissimilar to kanji or Chinese characters but in a more primal less sophisticated form.
I knew the pillars would be the most opportune asset in our storyboard to illustrate a culture or some form of civilization. I played with shapes and tried relating them to Ryan's work so they would feel connected. (Ryan's work below).

I then took these designs and tried making very quick digitized versions but I didn't quite like how they turned out. I also tried seeing how their look in a dark environment being lit with flashlights to the same result.

This was all the concept and design work I was able to get done and I was quite happy with the results. If I gave myself more time to work on this I would've liked to have breached out to other parts of the project such as character work, cave interiors and the city itself. I think it would've been interesting to see what we all would have come up with for each part of the project but with the time we were given I would've liked to have experimented more with composition I think.
After preparing for the pitch presentation I focused on the master shots I was responsible for. I did the exterior of the ship on the moon landscape in the composition I picked out earlier.

I went over this in my style to keep it consistent. I found this workflow to be more efficient.

I think a big thing I learned from doing these backgrounds and something to keep in mind for next time is to use darker colours against the light ones to create more contrast and create depth. I feel in some parts of my work certain things don't pop out as much as I would like them to.
We then had our presentation which went well. I wrote down a scripts and practised it multiple times until I felt confident In what I was saying and could talk around it if I forgot any words. I used a Q card to help prompt my sentences with words that I knew I blanked on during my practises written down. I felt my part went smoothly and I remembered my points. I did speak too early for one of my script lines during the animatic but I don't think it that much of an impact.
Coming to the end of this project I learned quite a bit working with my group. I was quite happy with the work I did do and wasn't used to the actual good communication and enthusiasm my group displayed overall. Although I faltered in the beginning, all members in our group felt they had a moment or moments they weren't doing as much. We still covered for each other and always had new work to look at each day. It was really nice to work on something with people who were equally as dedicated to making something together.
If I had to change somethings for next time it would definitely be how much I contributed to new ideas in the group. I did come up with ideas but I felt I kind of took a back seat and looked at the ideas we already had to see if they would fit without coming up with much of an alternative.
I felt also that there were some things I was thinking that I didn't quite vocalise at times but as I grew more comfortable with the group I was more relaxed in sharing my ideas and criticisms.
This might be my last Tumblr post but thank you guys for the support and love you've all given me throughout this journey.

you wanna ramble about some of your visions of the little guys? because i would Love to hear <333 (also feel free to ignore this if you don't want to, haha!!!)
thank you so so much for sending this ask ily <333 and I am. so so so sorry this started out as just a short stating of facts but then it began to lead a life of its own (uh cw for animal death)
ok for background info I’ve got this post here with a character list doc etc but it’s not really necessary to understand this
anyway I’ll be talking about sita (tag) bc I love her <3
in the kyoshi novels it’s said that all air nomads are benders but I think that’s stupid. there definitely are air nomad non-benders but they’re uncommon and generally don’t live in the temples.
sita is one of those non-benders. as she grows up in the eastern air temple, she practices the katas and fighting style just as hard as the other kids—maybe even harder—but no matter how hard she tries, she cannot get the air to move as it does for her peers. she feels like an outsider. there’s one other non-bender girl there, but she’s a few years older. they play together a lot, and it helps, but when the girl leaves to travel the world, sita is left behind, and she feels more alone than she ever has before.
she knows it’s not the fault of the her friend or other nuns, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt. so one day, when she just can’t take it anymore, she stuffs her bag with food and all the airbending scrolls she can find (she cannot kill the hope inside her that maybe if she practices hard enough…). she gets her bison and flies away.
(she’s sixteen.)
she tries to find her old friend, but she could be anywhere. so she explores the world, and she’s happier than she’s been in a long time.
however, one day, her bison gets sick. she’s camping somewhere on an island in the fire nation, but no one there knows how to help her. she sets out toward the eastern air temple, but as they’re flying over the sea, they get caught in a storm. she worries they’re not going to survive, but by some stroke of luck, they get rescued by a bunch of seafarers on a ship called the ziyou. they’re friendly, and the captain promises to take care of them for as long as they need, but sita was right about one thing. her bison doesn’t survive.
taituk, the captain, promises they’ll drop her off at the nearest port, but.
she has no reason to go to the air temples now. it would only stir up painful memories. and her chances of finding her old friend, alone in the earth kingdom, on foot, are practically zero. she thinks about it.
she knows the crew she had initially thought to be regular seafarers are pirates. but they’re not like what she has heard about pirates. when she experiences a raid (she isn’t expected to participate and can just hide in the room she’s been staying in) she listens anxiously. she can hear taituk give the crew a sort of pep talk, and hears them tell the crew, with the practised ease of someone who has given a speech a thousand times before, to not hurt anyone unless absolutely necessary. “surrender and no harm will come to you,” she hears taituk call out to people on the other ship. and when the merchant ship’s captain surrenders, they follow through on their word.
she gets to know the crew. she learns about their motives, how they’re all outcasts, how they only attack the ships of rich merchants or other pirates, how most of them turned to piracy because there was no other option, to feed themselves and in some cases their families too.
maybe, sita thinks, she can figure out how to make this work.
sita’s been on the ziyou for almost two years. she’s gotten good at incorporating the fighting skills she’s learned on the ship into the air nomad fighting style she has such extensive knowledge of. she learns she has a talent for using projectile weapons—though nisha remains the best with throwing knives, she’s easily the second best, and her handiness with a bow and arrows more than makes up for it. she’s decent with a spear too, though she’s more defensive with it than the girl who teaches her, aki, would like.
(the cook, chusak, offers to teach her his weird fighting style of throwing pans at people, but she turns him down. that’s just weird and impractical and more often than not leaves people with bruises, concussions, or broken bones. well, she doesn’t need to learn to use every possible projectile weapon.)
she might not be able to bend air like she had always wished (and still wishes) she could, but as she pins an enemy to the mast with nothing more than a flick of her wrist or the release of a taut bowstring, or feels the salty wind ruffle her hair as she stands in the crow’s nest, she finds she doesn’t mind her lack of bending as much as she used to. she’s made peace with it.
she’s still shocked, though, when one day during a raid (the captain refused to surrender, proud as the beifongs he works for), she looks over her shoulder and sees a woman floating several feet above the deck. her eyes are closed and her long hair whips in the wind, and while she’s wearing earth kingdom clothing and doesn’t have any tattoos, there’s no way she’s not an airbender.
“what’s an airbender doing on a ship like that?” she muses to taituk as they’re hauling boxes of loot onto their own ship. “she must be powerful. to lift yourself into the air and create a storm like that takes a lot of strength.” (no one knows, of course, that was the avatar state, and they don’t realise it for a long time.)
“well, whatever the case, we’re lucky chusak knocked her out,” nisha grumbles. she turns to show the two of them a nasty-looking gash on her shoulder. “she almost got me with one of her own knives.”
taituk pulls a face. “ouch. well, better go see mallik, then.” nisha rolls her eyes and grumbles something sarcastic before walking off, but before sita can tease taituk about being “romantic” (she doesn’t have proof yet, but she knows!), taituk says, frowning, “iraluq said they seemed scared, though. the airbender I mean. scared and confused, as they threw up their arms and knocked her ice daggers away. as if they didn’t know what they had what they done or how.”
sita’s still pondering that over a few hours later, when she hears shouting on the other side of the ship. she rushes there to investigate. she makes her way through the crowd that has gathered on the deck. “what’s happen–”
she falls silent as she sees the airbender standing pressed against the wall, terrified.
“everyone give us some space!” taituk calls. “go on with what you were previously doing. nothing to see here.”
“what happened?” sita whispers to nuvuja, who’s, for some reason, is opening all the crates they had gotten from the raid and checking their contents.
nuvuja’s reply is brisk. “xuan managed to accidentally kidnap a person.”
“how?!”
nuvuja slams the crate she’d been rummaging through shut and opens the next one. “he was supposed to help check the loot but got lazy. just carried crates onto the ship without checking if their contents were the same as the labels. and apparently the airbender fell into a crate of rice when she got knocked out by chusak. lid slammed shut. we just found out while getting stuff for dinner.”
she grimaces as she looks over at the airbender. taituk is speaking to her softly, and while she looks less scared than before, her eyes are full of tears. “poor girl,” nuvuja murmurs. “we’ve got no clue where her ship is now. stranded on a ship in the middle of the sea with a bunch of pirates. she must be terrified.”
sita thanks nuvuja, and walks off to join taituk. maybe she can help.
apparently the airbender—hira—does not, in fact, know she is one. or she didn’t, until now. she and sita become fast friends. sita’s a friendly presence, a reassuring constant in the scary period waiting hira’s caught in until they reach land.
“I guess I should go to one of the temples, huh?” hira says a few days after her arrival on the ship. she tries for humour, but sounds breathless. scared. “if I want to learn”—she hesitates for a moment—“bending.”
she’d been both scared and elated to learn she was a bender. apparently she’s grown up as an orphan with no knowledge of her heritage.
“I can try to teach you some stuff, if you want,” sita offers.
hira’s eyes widen. “you’re an airbender too?!”
sita tries to keep the bitterness out of her voice. “no.” she tries for a smile. “but I grew up in the temples, so I know a few things.”
(she knows more than a few things.)
it’s weird, teaching someone to bend when sita can’t herself, but they make it work. hira’s a prodigy, easily executing techniques sita remembers took the other girls at the temple months to master. (techniques sita will never be able to do.) sita can help her, teach her, in a way hira will never be able to do for her. you can’t give someone bending, after all.
they meditate together, and cook air nomad recipes with chusak’s help. she teaches hira to read, write and speak the most common air nomad languages, and hira teaches her her earth kingdom town’s language in return.
it would be so easy to be jealous of hira. and maybe she is jealous, just a little. but she doesn’t let that jealousy fester, doesn’t let it turn into resentment. she won’t ever be able to bend, but she can be proud of hira, can be happy for her. can laugh with her as they mess up the recipe for fruit pies and smile at her when she masters yet another kata. she can participate in her culture with another air nomad, one who she knows won’t judge her for being a non-bender. (she spent the first twenty-seven years of her life as one, after all.)
and it will be enough.
(she doesn’t know that hira is jealous of her in the same way, for growing up in the temples. (hira’s spent her whole life wanting nothing more than connection with her culture.) but much in the same way, hira doesn’t allow her jealousy to lead her. she and sita are both air nomads who will always be a little bit of an outsider, and they’ll have to stick together. it’s not just that, though. she likes being around this chatty, lively kid (“I’m eighteen!” sita always protests). she likes to gossip with her and sit in the crow’s nest together and play silly games and have competitions who have climb the masts the fastest. sita is one of the main reasons hira decides to stay when the ziyou reaches the port taituk had promised they’d drop her off at.)
(the rest of the crew notices, that since hira’s arrival, sita seems happier than she’s ever been.)

(A/N): This was requested by @greenslifestuff :) It took me a week or two because I had to interact with my friends in order to get the inspiration I needed 😅 Summary: The team gets to work with a gen z teenager. Let’s see how that goes.

“Team, this is (Y/N) (L/N). She will be interning for the upcoming three months alongside this team. (Y/N), these are Agents Emily Prentiss, Jennifer Jareau, David Rossi, Derek Morgan and Doctor Spencer Reid and our Technical Analyst Penelope Garcia”, Hotch introduces a teenage girl to his team like this happens every day.
“Wait Hotch, we don’t get interns. What is she going to do, no offense, but getting us coffee or what?” Morgan eyes her suspiciously. She looks like any teenager grabbed from the street. A band t-shirt, a torn pair of jeans and a cup from starbucks in her hands. Nothing you would expect to even enter a federal building.
“No offence taken, Agent Morgan. I know having an ugly pickly bitch working with professionals seems weird. It’s just I have summer break and I thought it would be a good thing on my resumé if I already interned in the FBI, because I just graduated and I wanted to go to the academy this fall. But if you wanna do a vibe check with me first, that’s fine by me. Whatever floats your boat.”
The room falls silent. Then out of all sudden everyone turns to Garcia, who puts her arms up in defense. “I don’t even know half the things she said, ask her yourself.”
That’s how the BAU gets their first contact with Gen Z culture and let me tell you it is a wild ride, so buckle up your seats, drink your tea up because we aren’t going to make any stops.
“(Y/N), I need you to come with me. We are going to the M.E. getting the latest reports from our last case”, Morgan tells her while passing her desk. In the blink of an eye the teenager is ready, putting her denim jacket with various pins and bits of patches on.
“Derek, can we get starbucks on the way back? The pumpkin spiced latte is back on their menu and I am on withdrawal. Pleaaaaaasseeee”, she looks at him with a pouty face. Morgan smiles. “Ok, under one condition: We both get one, take awesome pictures and send them to the group chat and then we act like we didn’t get them anything, but we actually buy them their usual.” He got the hang of it pretty fast. “Deal, Sis.”
While they are in the car on their way to the M.E. the agent groans. “Ugh, road work ahead.” “Uh yeah, I sure hope it does!” Morgan eyes her from the side. His whole demeanor says ‘old and confused’.
“What was that, kid?” But (Y/N) begins to laugh. “Don’t you know vines? Short dumb and funny clips people made?” It’s safe to say that this afternoon he learns to speak in vines, getting on Rossi’s nerves because nothing makes sense anymore.
“Ok, I heard you wanted to become a profiler. So I thought I would show you some old cases and then you try to figure out the profile. I’ll present them to you like I do to the team, alright?” JJ and (Y/N) sit in her office, safe from curious eyes. “As right as the law, Ma’am.” 
“Good, this is a case from several years ago. It happened here in D.C. Three men were murdered execution style in the middle of the night in an alleyway. They were all from different backgrounds. Unfaced by the presented facts (Y/N) pops a piece of gum into her mouth. “It do be like that.”
“What?” “I mean, it’s obviously a woman. She experienced any harassment or assault herself. She also has excess to the files, I assume she works as a paralegal, since most of them are women. Female serial killers are extremely rare, but they are better organized. The only thing left to say is good for her getting revenge.” The blonde looks at the teenager with wide eyes.
“I-I guess but you know you can’t say anything like that to Hotch, do you?” She asks concerned. “JJ, I’m dead inside, not dumb. I know this.” But the agent shrugs. “Good. Though I really want to see his face.” “Mood.”
Penelope Garcia is the closest one to relate to Gen Z culture, since a great part of her time is spent on the internet. She happily learns about all the phrases and their meanings as well as the newest trends and hypes.
“Purp is sus, I tell you”, is heard from the lair into the hallway. Spencer and Derek look at each other with concern on their faces. “Do you think they are alright or do we have to-” “IT’S A SELF REPORT I SWEAR PENNY! YOU WORK WITH PROFILERS IN GANDALF’S NAME!” Spencer’s question is answered by that.
“Baby girl, crazy girl, are you doing good? Do you need help or something?” The older one asks warily. But it’s drowned in another screaming match. “I TOLD YOU PURP WAS THE IMPOSTER BUT YOU HAVE TO TELL THEM I VENTED WHEN I DIDN’T! I WANT ALL TIKTOKS I SENT YOU BACK!” “YOU DON’T DARE TO REVOKE MY TIKTOK PRIVILEGES!” “WATCH ME GARCIA!”
“Whoa girls, what about taking a break?” Morgan tries to diffuse the situation. “Yes, I think JJ got new pictures of Henry and Emily brought cookies this morning”, Spencer adds.
The girls, who mere seconds ago were ready to jump each other's throats, look at the other one. “You get the cookies and I go to JJ, deal?” (Y/N) asks. “Deal!” Without sparing the boys another glance they run out of the lair. Their devices are still lit up. A red figure shines into their faces. ‘AMONG US’ is written underneath it. “I think we get too old for this stuff, don’t we Reid?”
Spencer always thought he was young. Of course, his mind is older, but physically he is not that old. But the intern proves him wrong. And boy is he wrong.
“Spencer, is there anything interesting to know today?” (Y/N) takes a seat on his desk, distracting the genius from his paperwork. It is a common occurrence for her to go to him to ask for a fun fact.
“Do you wanna learn something about sloths?” His knowledge (or the writer’s) on this subject is astonishingly big.
“Spill the tea, sis.” “Did you kn- What? But I don’t have tea to spill. And I don’t wanna spill anything, I-” Reid rambles in confusion.
“It’s just a saying, Spencer. There is no deeper meaning to it then ‘Tell me everything about it’. You know, it’s mostly used for gossiping, but I don’t really like to gossip. That’s why I use it in a different context. You got it?” (Y/N) explains it to him in a soft manner, knowing her generation can be complex.
“Yeah, I think I do. Thank you for telling me. I really like the phrase. It has a nice ring. What about you spill the tea about all the phrases you know and I tell you some things from my knowledge?” “I think you got yourself a teacher, genius. But now tell me about the sloths, I love them.”
A few days later Rossi catches her doing some weird moves. “Are you having a seizure or what is your problem, youngster?” Even though he tries not to show it, David took a great liking to (Y/N), thinking of her like a granddaughter. Still, most of her actions confuse the hell out of him.
“I’m practising a dance for tiktok. My friends and I worked on a choreo we wanted to film later. Come here, I can show you.” And that’s what she does in the conference room. The teenager walks him through every move of the choreo, explaining the meaning to it and how it correlates with the song.
“And then you move your arm like that. Exactly like that! You did a great job, David! Are you sure you don’t want to come with me later? We can make you your own account and name it ‘Grandpa-on-tiktok’. You can promote your books over there and it’s a way to float with the trend!”
Seeing her this excited Rossi can’t do anything but agree to the idea. Also, he secretly liked doing the dance thing. It made him feel young again.
“(Y/N), you said you graduated this summer. But your file said you are 16?” Emily asks her one boring day filled with paperwork and countless cups of coffee. “It is what it is”, she mindlessly answers, too focused on filling out the work in front of her.
“I mean yes but how?”
“Emily, smart people exist. I know, coming from me hits different, but here we are.” Finally (Y/N) puts her pen away looking at the raven haired woman.
“What are you talking about? I can’t really follow you.” The more the intern says the more confused gets Emily.
She sighs. “I don’t want to leave you on read here. I kind of am smart somehow. Apparently I was smart enough to skip a grade or two. But it’s no biggie. Many peeps do this, so I don’t sweat it.”
“Even though I feel like you are selling yourself short here, I know you are an incredibly intelligent person. Someday you will be an awesome profiler and any team will be lucky to have you. I really hope we will be the lucky team. But I’m still not sure if this is what I should say in this context.”
“Emily, you are goals. This fam is squad goals. I really hope to be a part of this someday”, (Y/N) admits. “I’m sure Hotch will do his best to get you on the team, you became a great part of it. I can’t imagine a future without you.”
Sadly Prentiss has to get used to a time without the team’s beloved intern. On her last day (Y/N) knocks at Hotch’s door.
“Hey, I wanted to say thank you. The time with you and all the others was amazing and I learned so many useful things for not only the academy but also for my daily life. I really had a glow-up here”, she says after coming in.
Hotch motions towards the chairs in front of his desk. “Take a seat, (Y/N). I got something for you. See it as a compensation for not getting paid for your internship. You really did great work and a better job than some agents, who are doing theirs for many years already but don’t know half the stuff you do. You are a valuable member to the team.”
“Wait, you speak in presence tense. I leave you all this afternoon, you know that, do you?” But the Unit Chief only gestures to a white envelope on his desk. Quickly the teenager takes it and reads it.
“Are you serious Hotchner? Because I will cry you a river if you joke”, she threatens him.
“I’m dead serious, (Y/N). Even though half of your talks are difficult to understand, the other half is twice as useful and important. Additionally to that, you are like a fresh breath of air that the team needed. That’s why a place here will be available for you as soon as you graduate from the academy. I trust you that you will pass with flying colors, I had to promise that to Strauss.”
“Of course, Hotch. I swear on my Animal Crossing Island that I will do my best and more. Thank you so much”, she leaps into his arms.
The others watch the interaction from the bullpen, pretending to not get teary eyed. Their favorite Gen Z Kid will come back to them after all.

The visible frown on your face can’t hide your disgust for another (shitty) tabloid you scrolled on your phone, not paying too much attention to it at first but the catchphrase did against your will anyway.
“Reading interesting stuff ‘bout me, love?”
You let out a short yell as you suddenly feel hands on your shoulders, your phone almost falling face flat on the wooden table. “Fuck– you scared me, Tom!” You turn around to face your friend who is more than proud of his little prank on you. You then pout, clearly irritated and proceed to close the previous tab and open Instagram as if nothing happened.
“You like it when I jumpscare ya, don’t lie (Y/N)” Tom says in a teasing tone, a smirk definitely on his face even though you’re not looking at him. The brunette keeps his firm hands on your shoulders, still while standing behind your chair, and somehow starts massaging them. Meanwhile you try your best to hide the blushing slowly appearing on your cheeks, your fingers fidgeting all over your screen to make it look like you are actually doing something – and definitely not being a flustered and panicked mess inside at your friend’s proximity.
“So, who was it this time?” Tom asks, now putting some slight pressure with his thumbs as he enumerates some random actress’ names the tabloids love associating him with. He also rests his chin on top of your head, sometimes brushing his lips and tip of his nose in your soft hair and so giving you the opportunity to feel his ripped torso as he slowly leans against you. Every single one of them makes your jaw tighten in pure and extreme jealousy, your back muscles tensing once again which doesn’t go unnoticed by your dear friend.
You wiggle your shoulders to push his hands away then proceed to stand, still not looking at him. “Dunno, don’t care” you mumble to yourself, gripping tightly at your phone and walk away, Tom still close behind you.
It’s been like this for days, and Tom didn’t have any intention of giving up on his plan to be as close to you as possible.
Later that day, the boys decide to create a mini golf parcours in Tom’s backyard – thank you lockdown – so they can still (kind of) practise their favorite sport. You never played golf (it has never been your thing anyway) so usually, you would do your things or just stay on the sides trying to ever understand what could be so fascinating about that game. But this time, Tom asks – forces – you to give it a try.
“I don’t even know how to play” you sigh, frowning at the golf stick in your hands and the tiny ball at your feet.
“Time for a lesson, then!” You suppress a whimper between your teeth as you feel Tom’s hands settle on yours to then press his entire frame against your back, definitely nothing to do with what happened earlier. Your face now as bright as a tomato – and Harrison, Harry and Tuwaine sniggering like teenage gossip girls in the background –, you try focusing on Tom’s explanations but everything now sounds like random and unknown words from a long forgotten dialect. Your attention switches from his larger hands firmly grabbing yours over the golf stick, to his lips brushing along your ears during his teaching, to his toned arms circling you to keep the position, to his hips nicely pressed against your bottom–
“I know it’s still lockdown” Tom’s soft whisper suddenly brings you back to earth, “but I really wanna spend some time with ya… alone.”
You’re so taken aback you didn’t notice the (first ever) hole-in-one he just helped you execute. Not moving from your current position you slightly turn your head to catch him already staring at you. “Well… dinner date indoors it is, then?”
Tom can’t help the wide smile growing on his face at your statement, not wasting another second to press a kiss at the corner of your lips. “Definitely, my jealous girl.”
“Jealous who?!”

Hi! I just wanted to say I really love both Jealousy, the oneshots and R&R. I just really like how you write everything! Unfortunately I can't really think of a good fic-specific question. but if its not too troublesome, could you pull the curtain back and tell me how you actually write? As in the process, I've tried writing a few times and just end up in a whirlpool of AO3 tabs and vocaloid music playlists

This is a great question! It took me a lot of practice to get into the groove with writing and figure out how I can really get into the right headspace to do it. Now it’s basically my favourite thing to do.
Personally I need silence to write. I used to have podcasts or music going in the background, but one day I realised if I turned it off, I got so much more done and it was a lot easier for me to focus. I know that everyone is different, so see which way you like better.
A good rule of thumb to stop yourself from getting too overwhelmed is to focus on a very small part of your piece first. A lot of my chapters started with just a few lines of dialogue and I built around that! It’s also a good tip to write out of order. If you have to get through a boring part to write fun stuff, write the fun stuff first and you’ll find the boring stuff comes easier. In a lot of cases, it turns out to be unnecessary anyways :)
This is probably going to be unhelpful but starting with a Vibe is how I mainly get ideas for fanfics. When I started R & R, I knew I wanted a nostalgic, coming-of-age type feel to the first chapter. With Jealousy, I wanted a slow-burn based on confusing feelings and painful yearning. So maybe you want to write a fic with heavy, angsty vibes and unrequited desire? Start with what you want and build around that idea!
Also ROUTINE! Do you have a time where you like to write? Is it easier for you in the morning or at nighttime? What programme do you like to write on? Where do you like to write, at a desk, in your room, on your bed? Establishing a routine will help you be as productive as possible. Personally, I write best in the late morning and late at night on the coffee table in my living room!
Finally, if you want to write but don’t feel like you’re up to it, then read instead. You’ll learn so much about people’s ideas about the same characters, and be inspired by their own style of writing so it might come easier to you whenever you feel like trying again.
EDIT: I FORGOT ANOTHER REALLY IMPORTANT THING!!! Do NOT let your confidence get rocked! Anyone who has spoken to me for more than two seconds knows I’m not secure in my writing. I constantly doubt and second guess myself, I overthink chapters for days and read them over and over so often I hate them. I got into a terrible habit of every time I found an incredible fic written by someone else, while my first thought was ‘This author is amazing’, my second thought was ‘I will never make something this good’. That results in me not even wanting to write anymore, and there were even times I considered scrapping Jealousy I disliked it so much.
BUT all that mindset does is hinder you. Never compare yourself to another author and never let yourself feel bad about your writing. People are often their own greatest critics. Always keep writing, keep re-writing, keep editing and practising until you improve!
Oh no, this got long didn’t it? I’ll shut up now but I hope at least some of this was helpful! Thank you for the ask and for being so kind about my stuff <3

BACKGROUND & PERSONALITY.
valencia comes from a very loving home. she knows she’s incredibly lucky to have the family she does, her parents are still madly in love with each other and she couldn’t ask for a better relationship with her little sister. they are her world. 
growing up, the family were just comfortable. some months were better than others money-wise but they knew that no matter what they’d be okay because they had each other. 
as a child she found it a lot easier to get along with boys than girls. she enjoyed the adventure and play style most of the boys around her had rather than the girls. like imagination games and moms and dads was fun sometimes but she loved play fighting and getting muddy more... a thing that drove her mum a little bit crazy but she wouldn’t change valencia for the world!
gender norms weren’t a thing that val stood by either. she loved ‘boy things’ like playing sports, fighting, watching games with her dad and just being rowdy but she also liked playing dress up, giving makeovers, baking with her mom and being sensitive. 
all her life, she knew she was different. she could agree with her sister about the cute boys in their magazines and on tv... but she couldn’t picture herself ever marrying one. her sister would have crushes on various boys at school and v never found herself feeling anything. it all soon became clear though. and her name was sarah. 
from the age of 10 to 15, val and sarah were best friends and she was wrapped around that girl’s finger. they’d do everything together and quite clearly adored each other. it was so clear to everyone except val and sarah however that val’s adoration was a lot more than just from the perspective of a best friend. and it wasn’t until sarah had to move away that val realised her true feelings. she was heartbroken. the two girls wrote each other all the time but val never felt right confessing her true feelings to her friend. there had been a few times where she’d tried to write it out but always decided against sending them. 
she told her family about what she’d realised. she was a lesbian. they all took it well, her happiness being their only priority. her sister was a little bit taken back and took a little longer than her parents to come round but she was only 13 and didn’t totally understand the whole thing. 
being the 2000′s, being gay brought a lot of bullying and homophobia her way. older family members in spain even writing to her parents to tell them they need to ‘get her help’ to which her parents kindly told them where they can shove their opinions and let her continue to find herself. a lot of the girls at school treated her like she had some kind of disease and would refuse to be around her which made her feel like shit as you can imagine but she always pushed through with the support of her family. 
eventually, she came across a group of kids who didn’t treat her any different and supported her, some of them even being the same or incredibly similar to her. they opened her up to a lot of new things. new styles, new adventures, new music. and she loved it all. this group is why she is how she is today. they taught her about androgyny, about doing what you want and not giving a fuck about anyone else and about always being open and welcome to other people, even if you don’t totally understand them at first. 
all these years, one thing about herself had stayed consistent. she’d always loved a good makeover. she was the one her friends came to for their hair and makeup for parties/dates and she’d be the one they came to for style advice and she loved that! she showed a lot of promise, as told by her drama teacher who often recruited her for help with costuming and styling for school plays. so as soon as she was able to, v went to beauty school and grew her talents. 
never in a million years would she have thought this would get her to where she is today, stylist to the stars! and an incredibly popular one at that. fame isn’t a big deal to her though, she just happy to have a good job in an area she loves and being in a position to help her family out. 
relationship wise, val has always dreamed of having a connection like what her parents have but so far, her few short lived relationships haven’t exactly shown much promise. sometimes she jokes that she’s terrible at picking girls since they all either only like her because she has access to celebrities, only like her because she has a little bit of fame they can use or they’re just not great people! she still secretly holds out hope though.
v has gained herself a bit of a tough outer shell after all these years of dealing with rude celebrities, catty competition and just general homophobia. some find it hard to get close enough to truly know her beautiful personality but those that do know they have a friend for life in v. 
in her spare time she likes going to sport games, experiencing l.a, drawing and painting and occasionally going out with her friends. she’s very into politics and often attends protests, this isn’t something she usually talks about though like she prefers to just do stuff than talk about how she is going to or has done something.
her professional name is v rivera so to the majority of the people at shine, they would only call her v or rivera. she likes to save ‘val’ for her close friends, who are also welcome to come up with their own nicknames and ‘valencia’ is something only her parents call her (or sometimes her friends when she’s in trouble) and ‘cia’ is something only her sister has ever called because she struggled to say valencia when she was a toddler.
WANTED CONNECTIONS
sarah (this name can change): the girl who has always been a ‘what if’ in val’s mind. perhaps they lost touch and stopped writing to each other after a while? maybe they still write each other but just haven’t crossed paths again? maybe she also had feelings for val but was too scared to say anything or maybe she saw her purely as a best friend and we can find out her reaction to knowing the truth? maybe they could now be industry rivals and have to deal with the dynamic of their once best friend being competition? so much choice!
her sister: these two are as close as can be. they’ve had each other’s backs from day one and val would die for her sister no questions asked. 
best friends: your muse is one of the few in the industry who took the time to break down val’s walls and get to know who she truly is. you see the weird and wonderful things that go on in her brain and also the fire in her heart and embrace it all just as she embraces everything about your muse. ( would be open to probably 2 or 3 )
industry rivals: hollywood is cutthroat and there’s always someone better. these two have been head to head for a while. maybe they admire each other’s artistic ability and use that to better themselves? maybe they can’t stand each other and always want to one up the other out of spite? maybe they’re really good friends and a bit of healthy competition never hurts? maybe they were once good friends but the competition pushed them apart?
“boyfriend/husband”: this is valencia’s boy best friend. he’s her boy and if she were straight she’d marry the fuck out of him. they probably get each other valentine’s day gifts and make jokey relationship posts about each other on their socials. they have a lot of love for each other. they always wingman each other and bro out whenever they can. i also like to imagine val practising make up looks on him if she can’t picture how it’ll look on an actual person.
idk what to call it: they love to work with each other. so maybe an actor/singer/model/etc who whenever they’re given the choice will always ask val to be their stylist and if she’s available, val will always do it because they’re one of her favourites. they probably have a good vibe together and enjoy each other’s company and if they spent more time together would be great friends but maybe due to work they’ve never had the chance before?
ex-girlfriends: this has so much opportunity for plots and backstory so if you’re interested in this then we’ll have to talk about what went down and why things didn’t work.
exes who can’t seem to let go: (i’m v inspired by this song and need a plot like it) maybe they broke up because things weren’t working but they decided to stay friends because even though the relationship was wrong they still care about each other. and they keep trying to move on but everytime they see each other, something ends up happening even though they both know it probably shouldn’t.
flirtationship: maybe her and a straight girl or her and a boy or even her and a gay girl... they probably both know nothing’s going to happen but they enjoy flirting with each other. where’s the harm in flirting?
enemies: these two just don’t vibe together. it’s not a thing, it doesn’t work. backstory can be worked out but yeah, they’re really don’t get along.

   I’m curious. How do you manage to write both original fiction and fanfiction? I can’t do both.   
Honestly? Practise.
I’ve been writing fanfic for around 23 years now. I did it on paper before I knew it existed anywhere else. Any fandom I hyperfixated on, I wrote for. It got to silly degrees at some points (I mean, I’m definitely at well over 6 million words of fanfiction on various websites). But even now, I consider it where I learned how to actually write properly. It let me develop my writing style, hone my character-work and polish off some of the edges.
I like to say it’s kind of like riding with training wheels. Feeling a bit shaky on world-building? Fanfic gives you a ready-made world as stabilisers. Not sure how to write dialogue? Fanfic gives you ready-made characters to practise with. Want to try out an original character or two? Fanfic lets you insert them into a world, so you can focus on them instead of having to deal with everything including world-building and such.
My very first published characters were based off OCs I created for one of my fandoms. Only the more I wrote them, the more I realised I knew them and could write them away from their original fandom. I had an idea of a story I wanted to tell for them and then I started expanding it. Little by little, I built their world around them, spinning a story as I went. I was terrified, because I’d never made a whole story myself, not with all the details and background and history I needed to create, but now, it’s a 5-part series and it’s almost all published.
It honestly all comes down to practising and trying out things that aren’t 100% fanfic, but never, ever doubt that fanfic can help you when you’re starting out. No, it’s not for everyone, but it’s a good starting point for people who are nervous about trying original stuff from the word go.
To date, I’ve had four books published. I have two more due out in the next six months. I’ve been picked up by seven different publishing houses in various anthologies across multiple genres. I’ve even been nominated for an award for my writing (didn’t get beyond the nomination process, but still! Nominated!)
I could not have done this without the foundation that fanfic gave me. It let me try out new techniques, develop new skills and above all, have fun with writing. If I ever produce stuff that results in fanfic, you can bet your bottom dollar I will be squeeing to the high heavens :)
It’s not for everyone. Not everyone can. Not everyone wants to. I have author friends who could never write a fic and I know amazing fic writers who don’t like to write original stuff. Personally, I think if you’re writing, be it fic or original or whatever, as long as you enjoy doing it, that’s the main thing :)

I just watched Makaze’s blu-ray box. I know the blu-ray’s description in online shops probably tells what exactly it has, but in case someone wants to know what this box is all about, I will share some random thoughts and try to describe its contents.
The blu-ray comes in one of those slightly inconvenient sized A4 covers, just like Reon in Budokan did. It’s a bit of a hassle to nicely fit in my DVD-shelf, but it comes with several gorgeous photos that look much better in that big A4 size. There’s one blu-ray disk and a CD.
I think the biggest attraction of this thing is the music video. The song is pretty nice but my attention was taken by the dancing, which was very beautiful, expressive and suits Makaze’s dance style. There are parts where her movements just flow so smoothly and naturally, but there are also some still moments when the dancing slows down and she seems to either watch or listen to something the viewer can’t see or hear. It’s quite emotional song and Makaze’s dancing is also full of emotion, a certain kind of restlessness. When the song ends, Makaze collapses on her back and reaches upward. Maybe if I knew Japanese better I’d understand the symbolism better. But anyway, it’s a pretty cool music video and I’m super happy they gave Makaze some good dancing to do.
This is followed by a making of-documentary for the music video. It’s fun to see the behind the scenes stuff, plus this also covers the photo shoots for those extra photos that came with the box (during which they have a wind machine buzzing in every other shoot, it’s like they want to make the kaze-puns a thing). This part is quite long, though, and consist mostly of interviews, which will be much more interesting to someone who’s fluent in Japanese. I think they could have edited this to be a bit shorter, but that’s just me. Seeing the dance practise was interesting. Also, when the making of-documentary of Makaze’s personal book came out, someone made a joke that their dream job would be to be the person who has to spray Makaze’s neck with water. After seeing this documentary I will have to continue this trend and say, my dream job is to be the person who catches escaped strands of her hair and tucks them back in with the rest during a windy photo shoot. That or be the person who pats her hair dry with a towel after she was laying down in an inch deep water pool for the music video’s final moment.
After this there’s small clips of the shows Makaze’s performed in. Most of the clips are very short and edited together, sometimes with a background music that isn’t from that show. If you’ve seen all the DVDs there are available of Makaze’s shows, there’s very little new material here, unfortunately. There’s bits and pieces from her shinkos but those are very brief. Most of the clips in general are very brief, understandably, since Makaze’s career has been quite long and if they added full scenes from every musical, they’d probably have to dedicate a second disk to just that.
Some dances are shown in full. Much to my delight, this includes three dances from the finale of Lancelot. I wished so hard that this show could get a full release now that Towards a Day in the Sun got it, but it’s probably never going to happen and so these three dances (and some other small clips) are the only officially released material I have of one my favourite shows (yes, I know that there’s only like two and half other fans who actually love this one but I don’t care, I sincerely adore it, in all its weird time travel nonsense and cryptic take on the grail myths). 
While we are talking about Lancelot by the way, when I watched this show and got to the love song Lasse sings to Guinevere, I could have sworn Makaze used the Welsh name for the queen, Gwenhwyfar. I couldn’t really be sure if I was just imagining it, but all along the musical I think I heard everyone pronounce her name “Gwinevee”, yet my ears told me Makaze was singing “Gwenhhifaa.” Well, now that I can see the name of that song in the CD’s titles - I have been proven right.

Also, as a side note, I’m refusing to call Valencian Passion by it’s correct name from now on. I have renamed it Aishiteiru Aishiteiru Aishiteiru Aishiteiru. A4 for short.
Another dance they include in whole is the Sapphire Dance from Classical Bijou. Never gonna say no to that one.
While the clipshows offer very little new material, they are edited rather well. They’ve picked some of the best scenes and dances and poses, and made them flow very nicely together, and the music, when not one used in the shows, suits them well enough. If you’re in the mood for some short best-of snippets, this is fine.
Haven’t listened to the CD yet, but it seems to have a different collection of songs than Makaze’s Applause-collection CD that was released earlier, so that’s good. 
By the end of the blu-ray there’s a short clipshow of finales so you can see all of Makaze’s parade feathers.
Bottom line: The lovely photos and the music video are very cool, but there’s very little brand new material considering the box’s high price, so bear that in mind when deciding if this might be a blu-ray you’d like to get. I don’t regret getting mine, but thought I’d share what the contents were so future buyers know what to expect.

MGA SEASON FIVE !      EP. 1 → PART TWO: INTERVIEW
she should have known this would happen again. it’s too good an opportunity to pass up, really, isn’t it? a chance to get the contestants to ( with any luck ) tattle and turn on each other for good television. and in the event they don’t, edit it so they do ( though maybe she’s just a little cynical ). there’s so much that could go wrong in the blink of an eye here, but just like last time, she isn’t too worried. she just has to be nice and that’s not so hard, is it, really? 
having her make-up retouched again is strange and she flattens down her t-shirt, adjusts her jeans without much thought before she heads towards the seat in front of the camera. everything this time around feels so much more official, the cameras so much more obvious and the backgrounds plain for the best showing on television. all attention is on her and she offers the staff a bright but sheepish smile as they ready everything. 
each question, she imagines, will be set to trip her up. unfortunately, the longer she takes to think about each one, the more of her allocated time she wastes. equally, if she makes it through by another miracle, her screen time will be diminished with each mind-numbing, boring, long pause she leaves. she’s not hungry for attention ( in this context, anyway ) but she is aware that the less of it you get, the less chance you have of advancing. isn’t that how they fix these competitions? 
“are you ready, siyeon?” she hums with an enthusiastic news. “great. so, how did you feel when you received the news of the callback?” 
it’s an easy one to start on, as they had done before. are they lulling her into a false sense of security? she pushes those thoughts away, focuses on a few days ago when she’d ignored the email and her cheeks flush to almost the colour of her hair. 
“honestly, I thought it was going to be a rejection email, so I didn’t even open it at first. I was at work, so I was elbow deep in flour anyway, but I think I was scared of seeing it because I was really hoping I’d make it through.” she laughs softly, all breath and teeth. “I saw everyone in the waiting rooms practising and they all looked so professional and so talented that I thought I couldn’t possibly stand a chance. but then when I got home, I got a text from a friend and I saw the notification and I thought to myself, you know, I have to get it over and done with. I have to read it eventually. so I opened it up and there it was. congratulations! and here I am.” 
she takes a short moment, just long enough to collect her thoughts and suck in a new breath. she’s talked more just now than she has all day. “I’m really grateful to have this opportunity and I really hope I can continue to go far here! I think I have a lot to learn but I’m excited to hopefully go on this journey.” 
the interviewer seems satisfied and siyeon feels a flash of nostalgia ( can it be called that when it was so recent? ) as they look down at their papers and then back up to her. “how was it seeing the set for the first time?” 
she gasps immediately. “it’s so cool! I’ve never seen anything like it.” her eyes are wide as she remembers all the seats, how overwhelming it’d all been. “I feel like I walked into a school assembly again— we used to have these big gatherings in boarding school for the most important announcements and stuff; it felt like that. but... with brighter, flashier lights. and cleaner.” she chuckles again, wondering if anyone from her old school will even see this. for a moment, she almost hopes they don’t because if this is the end of her story here, she’d rather not face their pity or worse, teasing. 
“what did you think when the judges were revealed?” 
her head shakes quickly, a small pout tugging on her bottom lip. “it was both a great surprise and a horrible one. I totally wasn’t prepared to perform in front of the ceos. I thought maybe we’d get a couple star judges, like, senior idols or something, and I was nervous enough about that!” she runs a hand through her hair, tugging back from the top of her forehead. a few strands fall beside her eye, so she carefully tucks them away behind her ear as she continues. “I think it’s really exciting, though. it really drives me to do even better because I want to impress them, you know?” 
another glance down at their papers and the interviewer asks the first actually tricky question. “how do you think you did?” 
truthfully, she doesn’t think she was that impressive. compared to some of the other performances she saw ( and was calm enough to actually enjoy rather than spend their whole two minutes worrying about everything going on around her ), she paled drastically. was her song too boring in the calmer, softer style? would she have stood out enough to even give herself a chance of advancing to the next round? however, the more she thinks about it, the more she realises that everyone is likely feeling this way. they’re all nervous about passing the ceos tests, ticking all their boxes. 
but the problem is, how does she express all this without coming across either far too cocky, or so belittling of herself and her abilities that it doesn’t seem like she has the guts to survive in this competition, let alone in the industry. 
“I think I did well! I practised really hard and for so long that even my grandma got fed up of hearing me.” she laughs again, warmer this time, louder. “I gave it my absolute all and that’s what’s most important. it’s up to the judges to decide how I did, really, isn’t it?” she asks with a cheeky smile, a slight narrow of her eyes and a tilt of her head. after, she giggles, waiting for the next question. 
“were there any performances you didn’t like?” 
it’s another that’s designed to trip her up, but this is the only one she’d expected, so without hesitation, she grins. “lee jeno! I didn’t know he was so talented, he should share some of it with the rest of us!” habitually, she pats her thighs as she talks. “I’ve seen his youtube videos — we were friends when we were kids before we both moved away — but this is the first time I’ve heard him sing in person and it’s kind of unfair how talented he is. same for jeon heejin! choi yoona! all my friends here... I have bones to pick with all of you for being too talented!” her trademark laugh shines through in all its glory, her eyes curved and her hair untucking from her ears almost entirely with her movements. 
“okay... so, besides them, is there anyone you’re certain will move onto the next phase?” 
she hums. in all honesty, she can’t say for sure. she knows these things are often decided long before they even take the stage and even if they’re not, she doesn’t know what the ceos are looking for. hell, she doesn’t even really know how to recognise technical talent. it’s one thing to sound or look good to siyeon’s inexperienced ears and eyes, but to impress professionals, people who have been scouting the best of the best for years— that’s something else entirely. that being said, there’s a few she thinks are shoo-ins; the ones who appeared in previous seasons, the prettiest, most handsome. the contestants with memorable smiles or an interesting song choice. if the mgas want to attract viewers, they have to pull in their interest and the best way to do that is to keep the best characters as well as the most talented singers and dancers and rappers, perhaps even more so. 
“I don’t know, really! I think everyone deserves to go onto the next phase. everyone worked really hard and did really well on stage. I hope shin yuna goes through, though, and me as well, so I can be her friend. her baby shark performance... she looked so cool!” 
“finally, is there anyone you are certain will be eliminated today?” 
what a question to end on, she thinks. but again, even though it seems like the cop-out answer, she genuinely doesn’t know. she just isn’t educated enough on the intricacies of music, of performance, to know what’s good and what’s not so good and what’s elimination worthy so she just shrugs. “I honestly have no idea. like I said, I thought everyone did really well.” to brighten the very end of her interview, however, she stretches her lips to a playful, happy grin and adds, “hopefully not me, though!” with another round of her infamous laughter.

Q+A: NEWMEDS

You guys have all been involved in several other well established bands, how did you all meet? And what made you guys decide to start creating together?
Myself (Nick) and Brodie (Joe, drums) had been good mates for a long time. We worked a few nights together at Brodie’s bar and started to discover each others music taste. That's where the idea grew for NEWMEDS, we sorted a practise room and started looking for the right guitarist. Mark had just become available after parting with a previous band. We both kind of had the same idea to get him anyways. Brodie had previously been at music college with him and i had just started talking to get to know him. We practised together as a 3 piece for a while and realised we wanted a bass player to get involved. We had a lot of interest from good musicians that heard the first song we put out which was called "Rosyln". We knew the person had to fit the bill though, enthusiastic, good stage presence, could help with backing vocals, and likes a good night out. We knew Sam from the music scene, he is notorious for been in several bands at a time, but he had just left one. He had showed love for the song, and said he would love to get involved. We asked him a few days later, he snapped our hands off. It's 4 lads from 4 different, but not too different backgrounds, its no limits, no restrictions on sound, i think that would interest any musician starting a band.
Your hometown, Hull, has just been crowned UK City Of Culture – tell us what the music scene is like there? What’s one thing you think is done really well, and what’s one thing you’d love to see improve? Well i think the City Of culture stuff is slowing down now, the torch gets passed on, i think Coventry have it now. It did a lot for the city though, a lot of people were negative about it, saying they would have done this and they would have done that. But mainly i think its put eyes on us from places we wouldn't have been heard. It's been really positive for everything not just music. The music scene has ALWAYS thrived in Hull, there's always been quality bands, and it's still the case. We know a lot of the musicians from Hull, many have been in bands for years, some younger kids starting up for the first time. To make music is always a positive thing, if your music connects with one person then you've made a difference right? There are a few independent venues that have been there for years and now we are attracting bigger promotion names. It's good and bad, things change when big companies come in, sometimes not for the better. The work and progress places have made by themselves to get to that position is quickly over looked, and the bands that used to play don't get a look in sometimes. I hope that's not the way it goes here, but time will tell i guess. It would be nice to see more local bands be given a shot at playing those bigger support slots. In the Leeds and Newcastle O2 academies they will only give support slots to local bands, that's cool, we should learn from that.
Are there any stand out bands in the scene that you wish everyone would listen to right now? Im gonna answer this from a perspective of hard work and the pay off from it, because so far we haven't played with a whole load of bands in NEWMEDS.  LIFE from Hull, are a very hard working band and its finally paying off. Stew Baxter (Drummer) worked for years for the Warren Project in Hull, improving the scene and bringing opportunities for bands and musicians in Hull. He also helped us massively and made us believe in ourselves, whenever im feeling at a dead end with trying to push the band further i know i can just ask him his opinion and get an honest answer. From a point of bands that we've seen or played with so far The King Is Dead are super tight live, as are Strange Bones, as are our friends from Three Day Millionaires.
Your sound is really something special - blending together black metal, punk and emo, with a little psychedelic edge – where do you guys draw inspiration for what you create? I guess it just comes from such a huge range of different influences. Also the bands we have been in previously definitely help us in terms of what to do, and not what to do. Our songs always have a driving drum beat, nothing complicated, but always solid and memorable. The things Mark can do with a guitar astound us every time. He has completely nailed the sounds he wants, he has built his own sound, and amazes us every time. Mark comes from the more Black Metal side of music, but has also played in Blues bands and many many other genre bands. I personally grew up on Hip Hop, Metal and Hardcore Punk and Emo. Brodie was always into Skater Punk and Rock, playing in bands of a similar style. Sam has played in bands from Mathcore to Dad Rock but has similar influences to myself in parts. I think we are such an open book for new ideas that it just works. We are constantly in the group chat showing each other new music and ideas for songs, everyone is hugely creative and talented. The music creates itself, if it sounds good it stays, if it sounds out of place we will usually say "Good, now let's work and adapt it a little".
Run us through the creation of one of your songs – do you find each has a similar recipe? Or does the process change every time? A lot of our songs have come from a simple drum beat. Mark and Sam smash ideas out over the top of it, and then we work on structure. We will chop and change bits down move them around leave them for a week, make a rough recording then "skim the fat" off. Once finished with the music, we will make another recording so i can sit and write lyrics. I'll spend countless hours getting the lyrics right, sometimes i've written 10 sets per song. I would never do it another way, the lyrics are so vital. If people can't relate to the lyrics i doubt they will feel the song. We don't write all the songs the same way, sometimes idea's have come from one of us having a beat, or a riff in our heads and then you have to go through the humiliating process of "mouthing" it to the band because we don't always have the capability to pick the guitar up and show Mark what we mean, or jump behind the drums and smash a beat in our head out.

Bad Artist Keith & Rich Shiro AU
Guys, I worked on something for a few days and I'd like to present this concept to you:
• Keith and Shiro meet in college. Shiro is studying IT in his last semester, Keith is studying art in his first semester. In the figure drawing class Shiro often acts as a model and so this semester he does too. He is immediately drawn to the red faced boy with the big eyes and watches him during the session. Keith is just really flustered the whole time, being faced with a naked adonis. He is still very pleased with his drawing though. Very pleased. But in reality it is very very bad. It seems Keith doesn't know anything about anatomy, the proportions are all incorrect and Shiro's dick... just... looks wrong.
• After class Shiro goes over to Keith and asks him to get coffee with him. Keith has already packed his stuff so Shiro doesn't see the drawing of himself until much later and that is probably for the better. The two would most likely not be a couple if he had seen it before.
• In the café Keith talks very excitedly about his life and art. He had first wanted to study music and then modern dance but soon realised both weren't for him. Later Shiro heard he actually hadn't gotten in because he lacked rhythm and basic knowledge of how to read music and the basic dance steps. Shiro is endlessly charmed by Keith's enthusiasm and his sparkling eyes. Keith further tells him he needs to do something creative, all the other jobs in the world would be too dry and make him bitter like everyone else. Shiro tells him he studies IT and Keith is horribly embarrassed and apologizes but Shiro doesn't mind at all and just chuckles.
• They go have dinner together after that. Shiro insists to pay and Keith is again very flustered the whole evening that such a handsome, intelligent gentleman would take out a greasy loser like him. That evening he learns that Shiro is actually rich. Very very rich. His parents were successful owners of a famous publishing company until they died when Shiro had just left the nest and left him wealthy. Also as top of his class once he graduates he has very good chances to get a high position in a company he took an internship at during the summer. Keith is impressed by Shiro's ambitions and feels suddenly very small and his dream now looks so trivial to him. Keith tells Shiro as much, in a joking way, but Shiro sees through him and reassures him that the arts are very important too and that maybe Keith can help prevent Shiro from getting dry and bitter. That sounds kinda dirty to his own ears and Shiro blushes and it's the cutest thing Keith had ever seen.
• Many more dates follow after that. They take it pretty slow, both finding that romantic and nice.
• When Shiro gets invited to Keith's place a few weeks later he sees Keith's art for the first time. He is... a tiny bit surprised. Keith keeps his drawings and sketch books lying around everywhere, seemingly unperturbed. Keith comes back from the toilet to see Shiro stand in the livingroom in front of one of his still lifes. He gets a bit anxious when he sees Shiro's frown. He asks "what do you think?" and Shiro forces out a "it's... good. Your use of colours is interesting" that he himself doesn't find convincing but Keith beams and thanks him for the compliment and Shiro feels So Bad.
• They spend more time in Keith's flat than Shiro's small house as Shiro finds it cozier here. They cook together whenever they have time, something Keith doesn't seem to have a talent for either but that he likes doing as long as it's with Shiro. He seems especially enthusiastic whenever he needs to cut vegetables. Their schedules are pretty full and they mostly meet at weekends, go to the cinema or go out to eat. But both secretly enjoy the times most in which they don't really do anything together but are just in each other's company. Shiro would study or read a book and Keith would work on a new art piece. Their relationship is cozy and domestic.
• The semester ends and Shiro graduates with an outstanding score in all of his exams. He gets offers for a few of the best companies in the country but he chooses the one closest to Keith. Keith himself fails most of his exams and has to leave college. He is devastated. Shiro suggests they drive up to Keith's parents' house and spend a few days there to cheer Keith up a bit. It would be the first time they would meet Shiro and that Shiro seems to want to take that step makes Keith feel better.
• Texas Kogane is a carpenter and Krolia a florist. Their house is small and looks a bit shabby from the outside but inviting and colourful from the inside. They immediately like Shiro. They can see he is a kind guy who sincerely cares for their son. Shiro is really nervous around the two but soon realises that he has nothing to worry about. They are really into him. Krolia jokes that Keith got his good taste in men from her.
• When Keith quietly tells them he dropped out, Texas calmly puts a hand on his shoulder and tells him it's okay to not go to college; he didn't and was alright after all. Krolia though gets a really fierce look and tells him now he has to work even harder and prove these assholes wrong. Over the weeks that they stay at the Koganes' Shiro learns these reactions were very typical for the both of them. Texas is a calm and relaxed person whereas his wife is temperamental and energetic. They complement each other well, he guesses.
• During their stay Keith helps his dad much. He repairs the door of the shed, installs traps for the rats that eat their way through the vegetable patches and feeds their old stallion Barnickle. Shiro mostly stays with Krolia as is her wish. She lets him help with gardening and asks him out about his life and intentions with Keith. She is content with his answers.
• Shiro and Keith stay in Keith's old room. They cuddle at night and kiss gently but don't get any further. Keith doesn't want to in the room of his childhood with his parents so close and Shiro agrees. Some evenings they ride on Barnickle out into the desert to watch the sunset and the stars that come out soon after.
• When they get back from this trip Keith feels much more optimistic. He gets back to drawing (which he had taken a break from) and practises some stuff from his college courses but mostly feels rebellious and works on his own ideas that they wouldn't accept back then. He is determined to be a freelance artist and sell his artworks. Shiro is really worried. He can't even place Keith's style. It's just... bad.
• Shiro is still fully supporting Keith though. He organises a gallery where he can exhibit his work. He has to pay much for that because they fear for their reputation. The vernissage is a disaster. Nobody turns up. Keith is heartbroken and Shiro feels that way too when seeing Keith like this. He reassures Keith they probably published the wrong date and pleads with the gallery to repeat the event. He will take care of everything. The next night the gallery is full. Shiro has pulled strings, making people who owe him something come as well as his and Keith's friends who also try to support their friend although they aren't really convinced of his dream. Keith is overwhelmed and so so happy. Shiro feels horribly guilty but can't bring himself to feel it was the wrong thing to do when Keith looks like this.
• Although to Keith his exhibition seemed like a success, nobody buys his art. Shiro quickly tells Keith he is willing to take care of customers. If someone wants to buy something, Shiro will handle it, he will hand the sold pieces over and bring the money to Keith. Keith is surprised to hear that and objects that Shiro has enough to do with his own job and Keith can do that himself but Shiro insists to do that for his boyfriend. In the next weeks Shiro buys much of Keith's art without him knowing. He hands the money to Keith and brings the pieces over into the cellar of his own house.
• Time goes by and they are happy together and with both of their work. Until one evening. Shiro invited Keith over for a romantic dinner. While Shiro cooks Keith wanders through the rooms and then goes down into the cellar, nosy as he is. What he sees there takes his breath away. At first he doesn't understand but then he realises what that means and he runs up the stairs, shouting at Shiro and crying. He never felt more angry, disappointed and miserable in his life. Shiro didn't have faith in him, that was the worst revelation. He runs out of the house and back to his flat. There he rips apart some of his drawings as he feels like he lost his dream.
• Back at his house Shiro breaks down and cries in front of Keith's art that he bought. He didn't just put them in the cellar like old stuff he didn't use. He had renovated it, the walls were painted, the air properly conditioned and lamps installed so the drawings and paintings wouldn't be ruined and could be seen properly. He had hung them in order in frames with glass to protect the surface and tidied the panes every day. Now he sits on the floor, crying, and studies every single one, trying to find a favourite but he can't. There is Keith's self-portrait, a painting of Barnickle with his parents' shack in the background, various still lifes with the craziest objects, and so many drawings of Shiro. Shiro sleeping, Shiro reading with his glasses on, Shiro smiling, Shiro frowning... Shiro realises just now that he loves Keith. He never said that, none of them had but seeing his face various times on the wall makes him see Keith loves him too. He cries even harder at that revelation. It seems he just lost his love.
• They don't see each other for weeks. Keith doesn't react to Shiro's texts and calls. Shiro calls in sick at work and stays home, drinking too much. One alcoholic night makes him feel determined to go and visit Keith. He will knock on the door until he's let in, if that doesn't work he will sing so loud Keith has to let him in if he doesn't want his neighbours to complain and if this still didn't make Keith surrender he would simply sleep outside his door. So Shiro calls a taxi and drives over to Keith's, knocking and yelling drunkenly. To his surprise Keith opens immediately, looking at him with wide and hopeful eyes. Shiro only now realises he yelled "I love you, Keith!". Keith asks him calmly if he really meant that and Shiro begans to cry saying yes, he really means that like he never did before and then ugly sobs onto Keith's favourite shirt. He quickly lets him in and they silently lie in bed together, Shiro in Keith's arms. Keith doesn't want to hear any more apologies than Shiro already babbled as long as Shiro is in this state and so they just sleep until the next morning.
• Shiro wakes up hung-over and embarrassd about what he did last night. That wasn't how he wanted to confess to Keith who hadn't even forgiven him yet. They have breakfast in silence. Shiro is so anxious as he sits in front of a disappointed Keith. Finally Keith speaks and asks: "now that you're sober, did you mean it?", and Shiro answers immediately with yes, trying to describe how much Keith means to him but Keith interrupts him with: "why did you do it?" and Shiro gulps. Keith needs him to be honest now, he knows that so he tells him everything. How Shiro wanted to always see him happy and excited like that first day they met and how he had doubts Keith would make it. How he tried to help and felt so guilty for it. Keith listens silently and looks so hurt that Shiro feels like crying again. He is sure Keith will now tell him it's over but he doesn't. Instead he says "I love you too." Shiro gawks and Keith continues: "I realised when you said you would take care of the business part. You showed me you cared for me and my dream and believed in me. But you didn't. It was all a lie." Shiro feels desperate. "I did care for you! And I still do! That's why I betrayed you, I wanted you to be successful. I know I was stupid and horrible and I am so sorry. I wish I could change anything now but I can't. I love you Keith and I want to be with you. Please." Keith doesn't react to Shiro's outburst and says: "I got a customer. One week ago Mr. Sendak bought four of my most expansive pieces. And then he ordered a portrait of himself. He's an important business man or something and the painting will hang on the wall of a gallery he sponsored." Keith talks calmly but Shiro feels pride radiating from him. He nods in understanding. "I was such a fool. I am so proud of you Keith, you deserve this. I'm going to go now, I'm sorry for coming over drunk and burdening you, that was inappropriate." He gets up with his head down but Keith stops him. "Where do you think you're going?", he asks, looking a bit angry. "I am still horribly mad at you and I don't know when I'll be able to forgive you and hell if you think I'll sleep with you any time soon. But I love you. And you love me. We just established that and I'm not letting you walk away with your tail between your legs. You'll stay and tonight we'll watch a movie that I choose no matter if you like it or not. You were wrong not believing in my art and I will rub that in for as long as I deem appropriate. We'll be together and live happily ever after. Understood?" Shiro can only nod dumbly and then jumps up to hug Keith really tightly and never let go.

• In this au Keith is neither dumb, nor lazy nor vain. He aims to have a very realistic style but fails without seeing that himself. He practises a lot but simply doesn't make progress. Just because his art isn't realistic doesn't mean it isn't innovative, unique or won't find any fans, just look at Mr. Sendak. Keith also knows very much about art. He aced his art history exam as best of his class, just the practical parts were bad. His problem is that he can't objectively judge his own art, he sees it in a different light than others.
• This being said I don't want to offend anyone or any art style by this au. Any art is amazing if you are passionate about it. I know how much time and effort goes into it and I don't mean to underestimate that. I just thought this au sounded fun and was first meant as some kind of crack au. It was inspired by Florence Foster Jenkins.

Pairing: VIXX Ravi x Leo x Reader
Warnings: none
Sorry for the long wait. A lot of stuff has Ben going on and I haven't been in the right frame of mind, so I put off working on requests because I felt they would be substandard (not that this is any good anyways). But I am finally starting toCloselyagain and hopefully will be a little quicker in getting stuff out.

Ever since you were young you knew of soulmates
Everybody was born with a small tattoo on their wrist, that was black and white until you touched your soulmate, making it bloom with beautiful colours
But you
You had two tattoos
They were on the same wrist, entwined together
From afar, they could easily be mistaken as one tattoo, but up close it was obvious that it was two different ones, the styles slightly different
It wasn't unheard of for a person to have more than one soulmate
Your parents had reassured you of that straight away
And that was cool, but you were a kid and had much more important things to worry about than soulmates, such as getting the good box of colouring pencils and figuring out your multiples of seven
As you got older though, you got curious about your tattoos
So you took to the internet and found various forums where people talked about having multiple soulmates, and their experiences in polyamorous relationships
And some of the stories were...really cute actually
And for the first time in your life you wanted to find your soulmates
But alas, it had to be put on hold, because you had must got a new job and you needed to focus on that
So off you go to Seoul, the idea of soulmates pushed to the back of your mind by the excitement and nervousness that comes with big changes
Your new job is as part of a management team at an entertainment label, Jellyfish
Nothing exciting, just an assistant of an assistant really
But the people are nice, the pay is good and the dress code is reasonable, so you are happy
Well, you are happy when you aren't sleep deprived and carrying a large stack of papers, running five minutes late to a meeting because you had to run up four flights of stairs thanks to the lift being under maintenance
So it is no surprise that when you bump into someone you only shout a "sorry!" over your shoulder before rushing off
And it's also no surprise that you are too distracted to notice part of your wrist start blooming with the most beautiful shades of blue
But someone does notice something
Leo and Ravi are sitting on a bench in the practice room together one afweren't, having a break from practising
Leo is pulling of his sweatshirt, hot from practice, when Ravi suddenly grabs his wrist
"Your met our soulmate and didn't tell me?" Ravi whines, which catches the attention of the rest of the group who are quick to gather round the two
You see, Ravi and Leo are soulmates
Ravi has a beautiful blue flower on his wrist, and Leo has one in red
And both of them have a matching one still yet to be coloured
The two have been together since before vixx even debuted, during their trainee days when they discovered they were soulmates
And all this time they have been patiently waiting the third and final person to join them
So of course, all of the group are going to be excited, thinking Leo found that other person
But Leo just looks down at his wrist in confusion, and upon seeing his fully coloured tattoos shows more shock than his members have ever seen on his face
"But I didn't...? Oh."
That is when he tells them how he bad bumped into a mysterious person earlier that day
Annnd that is when the serious concept kings image vixx has is dropped and they are running round the building looking at the wrist of every single person they come across (well, Leo, Hongbin and N had to be convinced but shh)
By this point you had finished the meeting and were getting a much needed cup of coffee in one of the break rooms when someone skids into the room, bumping into an older woman
The woman laughs it off, asking what he is doing
"What are you up to Sanghyuk?"
"Hi noona! Leo found his soulmate but doesn't know who it is, so we are on a mission to find them"
Hearing soulmates being mentioned, on whim you take a glance at your wrist
Only to drop your mug in shock upon seeing one of the flowers, now with pretty blue petals
Upon hearing the crash, the two at the door turn to face you, "are you OK"'s on the tips of their tongues
But Hyuk suddenly shouts in excitement upon seeing your arm and before you know it you are being dragged through the corridors, with you staring at your tattoo in shock the whole time
You come to a stop in a practice room, and Hyuk kindly asks you to sit down while he gathers the others
Now, you are already in shock, having just found out that you have apparently crossed paths with one of your soulmates
And you only heard Hyuk mention one name, Leo
So you are only expecting to meet one soulmate
It is safe to say that when you see two men walk in holding hands, one skipping along slightly and the other with a soft smile on his (very handsome) face, matching tattoos on show
Well, you are even more in shock, if your hopes turn out to be real
One of the two walk over to you, holds out his hand for a handshake and introduces himself as "Ravi"
But none of you are really focused on introductions, instead staring intently at the tattoos, holding your breath
And when both of them start to colour themselves in, cheers break out in the room and a huge smile breaks across your face
Ravi pulls Leo closer and brings the three of you into a hug
And the other boys trickle out of the practice room to leave the three of you alone to get to know each other
And that is the start of an amazing relationship
At first you feel a little insecure
Here are two amazing boyfriends who had just as amazing a relationship before you turned up, and you aren't quite sure where you fit in yet
But they are quick to make you feel wanted, because you are
Ravi is very vocal about his love for you both
He is the one who says "I love you" first to you, catching you off guard
And from then on he never stops saying it
You also find out he is a little clingy, always putting his chin on your shoulder or an arm round your waist
Leo, who by now is used to it, just takes it with a straight face, just shrugging his shoulders with a small smirk when you beg him for help out of the smothering embrace Ravi has you in
Leo is more subtle in his affections, his actions speaking more than his words
You're thirsty? Suddenly a water bottle is held in front of your face
Stressed? Oh look, now you're on the couch in with an angelic voice whispering in your ear
He is also the type to not talk about his problems though
But you quickly learn his tells for when he is stressed or upset, thanks to observation and Davis guidance
You and Leo are the first to hear anything Ravi produces
And it is the same with anything Leo does
You are their very own hype squad
You and Ravi have so much fun complimenting Leo until he is blushing from head to toe
He is so cute when he is flustered, and you and Ravi find it absolutely adorable
Though you have to watch out because he isn't against flicking your forehead or smacking your areas to get you to stop
Likewise, you and Leo find Ravi the cutest thing ever when he is running and hiding behind one of you while the other catches the "absolutely ginormous" bug and release it outside
There is an inside joke about Ravi being your sugar daddy, because he loves buying you things and treating you, to clothes, jewellery, meals, everything you could want
He just loves to spoil you
He also spoils you with kisses
At first he might be a little shy to initiate physical affection but once he realises you don't mind you better be ready to have swollen lips 24/7
Leo is more reserved with this, instead preferring small, shorter kisses, though he won't say no to make out sessions
Now, of course, the company knows of the relationship, and they are alright with it
They can't stop fate after all
But it is all kept from the public, who don't even know the two men are soulmates, as idols tattoos are usually kept hidden by clothes and makeup
And so dates out and about aren't too common
But when you do go out it is usually somewhere with animals
Animal cafes are probably your most frequented places, because Leo has a love for both cute creatures and coffee and you and Ravi like to exploit that
But dates also consist of the three of you just sitting in the same room, quietly working on your own thing, music playing lowly in the background, one of you singing along under your breath making the other two softly smile
When it comes to cuddling, whether sleeping or not, you are in the middle, no doubt about it
With both men facing you, arms draped across your body and legs all tangled together
This is because not only do they both like being the big spoon, but it is also a way of silently reassuring you that they love you as much as they love each other
And you can be assured that if Leo doesn't want to get out of bed, you and Ravi aren't getting out either because he will drag you back down with him (unless you bribe him with coffee)
The three of you have matching rings, beautiful pieces that Ravi bought because they reminded him of your tattoos
Other than that though, matching things aren't really, well, a thing
Not that it really matters of course
Of course, teasing from the other members happened a lot before you joined the relationship, and even more so after you did
Hyuk likes to try and take responsibility for your relationship and uses that as an excuse for everything, whether he is trying to get one of you to buy him food or trying to get out of trouble (a well placed smack courtesy of Leo usually shuts him up though)
N acts like a mother, cooing over how cute you all are and he even tries to give you the talk
"Why are you only gelling me this?"
"I've already lectured the boys on keeping it safe and keeping it out of the dorm, at least while we are there"
Ken is just load and annoying in general
And if you look closely you can see a rare Hongbin silently judging in the background
When the boys have promotions or are on tour etc, you all keep up via texts and video chats
"Are you eating?" and "Are you sleeping?" are regularly asked questions during these times
Though on the rare occasions when you have time off, you will join them, cheering them on from backstage
And when it's an LR concert, it is safe to say that you and N are amongst the crowd of fan and cheering the loudest
Of course they support you as much as you do them
Anything you do, anything you dream of doing; they will be backing you every step of the way
You want to sing? Say hello to your new vocal coach Leo
Want to open a cafe? Suddenly vixx are volunteered as taste testers
You simply want a pet? Ravi is helping you find a little brother or sister for Butt
After a while, your relationship is revealed to the public
At first, a picture of the three of yours wrists together is posted onto one of the vixx social media profiles, not saying who it was or anything
So of course Starlights went crazy making up theories of who had found their soulmates
Was it one member? Two? Were all three soulmates members of vixx?
Everyone who knows the truth lowkey enjoys seeing this madness in the kpop community
But it is finally revealed when Ravi all nonchalantly posts a photo of you, Leo and Butt snuggled on the couch, soulmate tattoos able to be seen if you look closely
Starlights take it really well, though some do joke about their ships being dead, but overall you get so much support
And everybody is just happy for the three of you
Because although your relationship isn't shown off that much, due to the boys being idols and having to be professional and all that; whenever the three of you do show each other off, people can just see how much you care for each other
(Also, when people find out the Leo and Ravi have been together since debut, they go crazy and petition for the two to become actors)
